The restaurant is run by 2 people doing everything, and there are very limited tables so they are often full and the food takes long, I would recommend calling ahead and confirming they are not full and are open, as the hours are quite erratic. The food is worth all the hassle, the garlic chicken wings are SO GOOD they were so good I forgot to take a picture. The drunken noodles were good as well as the pad see-u. I liked how they tore up a fried egg and put them in for an eggy flavor. They incorporated the veggies so well that even my 11 year old who will not eat any veggies gobbled up all of them. They incorporated the atmosphere was nice and relaxing and with a lot of warm homey touches.
Come visit Spice it was amazingly good, it was our first time there and I ate everything on my plate I didnβt want to share lol π Great service very friendly. Family owned.
Also the owner is a brother in Christ so come and try it out you wonβt be disappointed.
We give Spice 5 stars βοΈ βοΈβοΈβοΈβοΈ
Spice Thai Restaurant in Merrillville, Indiana, is an absolute gem that deserves every bit of praise it receives. From the moment my party and I walked through the door, we were met with warmth and hospitality that exceeded all expectations.
The fact that the owner, Boo, and her friend were still there preparing meals even though it was close to closing time speaks volumes about their dedication to providing exceptional service. Despite the late hour, Boo welcomed us with open arms and made us feel right at home.
The restaurant itself is impeccably clean and tastefully decorated, creating a cozy and inviting atmosphere that enhances the dining experience. Even though they were nearing the end of the day, the staff ensured that every detail was attended to, making our visit truly memorable.
Now, let's talk about the food. Each dish we ordered was an explosion of fresh flavors that left us craving more. From the delectable appetizers to the mouthwatering main courses, every bite was a culinary delight. And let's not forget about the dessert β the sticky rice and mango were a perfect ending to an already exceptional meal.
But what truly sets Spice Thai Restaurant apart is the passion and dedication of its owner, Boo. Her commitment to providing top-notch service and delicious food is evident in every aspect of the dining experience. Her warm personality and genuine hospitality make guests feel like cherished friends rather than mere customers.
In conclusion, Spice Thai Restaurant is a must-visit establishment in Merrillville, Indiana. Whether you're a local resident or just passing through, do yourself a favor and stop by for a meal that will tantalize your taste buds and leave you craving more. Trust me, you won't be disappointed.
The food was actually pretty good just needed peanuts and lime (vegetable pad thai). However, I was offended by the racist comment the worker made when I asked for chopsticks. It ruined my appetite and I almost asked for a refund. Maybe you should think before you make a strange face and ask a black customer if they're sure they want chopsticks and can use them properly because you don't want them to come back saying they couldn't eat π. This was so rude and stereotypical whether he called himself being funny or not. I won't be returning!
We were staying for the night and wanted some Thai food, so we came to Spice for dinner. The owner was so friendly to us and extremely courteous. When all 3 of us ordered pad Thai, she suggested we try her orange chicken instead. She said it was the best in town. It was the best Iβve ever had!! Since we all changed our orders to the orange chicken, she treated us to a pad Thai plate that we all could share - complimentary!
Needless to say, I left a very big tip at the end.
People who live in this area: do yourselves a favor and go check this restaurant out.
Amazing experience.
I ate here yesterday with friends from work and I enjoyed the orange chicken dish here and the egg rolls were absolutely delicious. The only complaint I have is that I feel it should have been an option to substitute fried rice in place of the steamed rice without having to buy a separate $12 order of fried rice. You should truly consider offering the option of just paying a few dollars extra and replacing the steam rice with fried rice. Other than that one complaint, the food was good and the young man serving us was friendly and very helpful!
I got the spicy Thai vegetable fried rice with pineapples added in it. It was soo goooodd ! I love it. Itβs my fave. Atmosphere is great. The customer service is quite exceptional and fast too. Prices and portion sizes of meals are decent/reasonable. Highly recommend this place if youβre looking for good authentic Thai food in the local area. You wonβt regret it. My food was well seasoned and flavorful 12/10 :) Iβll be back again soon.
The best Thai food around, owned by the sweetest people. If we could eat here every day, we would! So yummy!
I literally cried. I have never had chicken pad thai so fresh and so good.
The food is incredibly bland to the point where we got tired of eating it and just threw away the rest.
Pad see ew and pad Thai were great!
Food overpriced,small quality,no sauce,taste is not authentic
Food and service were great!

The food is soooo awesome!
The guy at the desk is plain rude and ignorant. Stop using paid review service to lure in the customer. If you need a help, hire the help instead of being rude to your guests. Good luck!
Not up to the 4.4
Owner was very nice, and the Thai tea is amazing. But spent almost 90$ for barely any food.

Great little place that is worth eating a great meal. Best crab Rangoon ever!

The food is at its worst. We ordered thai fried rice and the rice is not steamed properly. When asked, the staff was reluctant to eben listen to us and said its steamed and thats how they serve it ! I have had thai regularly at various place and its our fav cuisine but never had such experience. Also , the female staff, in specific, was very unwelcoming and responding with attitude !
Had always been a 5 star for me. But the last two times something is off. Understaffed which is understandable. But the food has changed. A bit dry and less flavorful. Waited until my second visit to review again. Not sure I will rush for a third time. More sauce please.
This place is small and clean. The atmosphere is ok. But the food was really lacking in flavor overall. The cucumber salad was bland and so was the garlic chicken wings. Smaller portions and overall the food wasnβt as good as other Thai places Iβve tried. They also donβt provide any sort of hot sauce.
I was to start off by saying.. best Thai food EVER! The service was amazing. The gentleman offered my wife some water while she waited for the food. (We were picking it up for takeout) Bagged it all in front of her to explain what it was as he bagged it. The QUALITY was just amazing, I can't rave on how good this place is! I think we found our new favorite food place! 1000/10 would recommend.
Stumbled across this place while staying at the Holiday Inn up the street. The guy managing the front was very charming and kind. The food was excellent, I got the drunken noodles with beef and a Thai Iced Tea.
The noodles had wonderful flavor and the meat was tender, all of it was fresh. I just wish I would have gotten it a little spicier.
The Thai Iced Tea was phenomenal. It was my first time trying one and I was craving a second by the time I finished the first.
Definitely would stop by again and probably will on my way out of town tomorrow just for the Thai iced tea.
This guy not even let us eat in there restaurant and he is Cambodia not even Thai he told us he give us to go why we ask for dinner there we wait like 30 minutes and charge me 61 dollars only two fries rice and one Thai tea Tom yum
Always amazing. Food fresh and so good, service is above and beyond! Recommend to everyone.
The drunken noodles were great! Environment was very friendly.
We had the garlic chicken, pad Thai noodles, pot stickers, and Thai tea. Service was friendly and quick, the food was delicious, and the place was very clean.
This place was once a shining star of Thai cuisine in the area. Now the food is totally sub par. Such a shame. My curry had more oil than coconut milk in it. One dish had the wrong meat and smelled rancid.
This place is so adorable inside and the customer service is outstanding!
OMG! This place is DELICIOUS!! Great customer service and itβs super clean! Probably one of the best food Iβve had since going vegan ! Thanks so much for all the options you are able to provide ππΌ
They were closed for a private event, but they did not put a sign on door nor picked up the phone to let the public know.
Wow! This was SO GOOD!! We really enjoy Thai food, which is very healthy in general and also good for my dietary restrictions (due to kidney disease). The restaurant dining area was very clean and neat. The owner who served us was very friendly & personable. I like spicy Thai food but my wife needed to customize her drunken noodle dish to mild spice, but it was no problem at all! Both dishes were cooked to order and delivered quickly even though the dining room patrons had quadrupled. Reasonably priced and deliciousβ¦ our only regret is that we live far away so I canβt eat here every week!
Quiet, relaxed atmosphere. Very good food. We reserved for a group of 10 and put our order in ahead so they could be prepared. Small staff (owners?) with minimal but personable service as available.
Nice staff great food worth a visit!

Fantastic food!! Service is wonderful also.
Very disappointed, my noodles were like one gelatinous mass at the bottom of the container. My first visit will be my last.
They NEVER disappoint! We always get orange chicken with tai tea. Great customer service! 10/10 definitely recommend
In all my years of eating Thai food quite often, I have never had any this bad. The noodles on all of our dishes were fused together. I could only separate them in clumps, not threads. It was as if they were overcooked and sat in the bottom of the pot overnight, and re-heated. Dish was mostly noodles. Very little of everything else. Not the usual abundance of nutrients. The space is quaint, but not very large. Cashier was polite. Too bad the food was awful. I was looking forward to a great tasting Thai meal when I saw the reviews, and the name "Spice." Both were misleading.
Amazing food!
The pan fried Gui Chai Dumplings as an appetizer was delicious, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, the sauce is a savory sweet sauce. I ordered the Paht Si-Ew noodles with veggies and egg. The noodles were definitely home made, delicate, very wide, great texture that I haven't had anywhere else. The dish was fragrant and fresh made. Veggies were well cooked with a slight crunch, I'll definitely come back for more. Service was great. Food is consistent.
Food tastes generic, way too sweet. Food smells foul. Will not be returning.

Closed on Monday, even though their hours on the door state they are open. Will update if it's open Wed or Thurs this week....
After a visit to the restaurant during open hours, it's easy to see why they are sometimes closed. Csll ahead and verify they are open (limited hours posted on their google map profile). This is a small family owned restaurant with limited staffing. With their dinner only hours, I recommend making a reservation or ordering ahead for your "to go" order. Food was delicious.
the waiter was a middle aged man wearing running shoes and he was like the coolest dude ever. he was so dope and kind and friendly and just went the extra mile. very warm personality and it's just what we need these days and times. the place is a lil small with no booths just tables and chairs but it's a decent environment. you can tell that the food is home cooked with it being chefs in the kitchen that reminds me of my Thai God mother that used to cook for me π₯° cool place
This is a nice quaint restaurant. The service personnel was very friendly and thoughtful. I ordered my to go inside and waited at the little counter up front. The waiter quickly sat customers that came in after me and took my order. He gave me a glass of water while I waited.
To my surprise the pot stickers were delicious! The crispiest I had ever had light and nicely filled with a chicken stuffing. The Druken Noodles was a total disappointment! I ordered the beef noodles and I must say, βWhereβs the beef?!β I may have found a teaspoon of beef mixed in with my noodles that were unusually sticky. I also ordered the Thai Iced Tea and it was yummy.
If Iβm in the area I would go in for the pot stickers and tea. But I wouldnβt make a special trip.
It's one of my favorite new places! I went here with my 9-year-old and we both absolutely loved this place. We're looking forward to going back with the rest of my family....
We were staying for the night and wanted some Thai food, so we came to Spice for dinner. The owner was so friendly to us and extremely courteous. Amazing experience.
The food was great. I would have personally liked a bit more, but it was all delicious. My husband and I are vegan, and the server was super helpful in helping us select the best dishes. He even recommended a curry to my husband that is not on the regular menu.
Very nice place stumbled upon it used to be Taco Depotβs old building in merrillville
This is the ONLY Thai restaurant I go to. The service is always amazing and the food is ALWAYS hot and tasty. Itβs consistent. I had the panaang curry and it was just enough spice and very flavorful. The paht thai with beef was super filling and flavorful as well.
For appetizers we had vegetable egg rolls and potstickers. Both were amazing but my favorite was the vegetable egg rolls. SUPER crunchy and the sweet and sour sauce is to die for! Will always continue to go here.
Shop is very small and the front is taken care of by one man but the service is still always fast and friendly! Worth the wait.
Got the basil stir fry with tofu, it was delicious! Staff were so nice
Great food and they treat u like family!
Nice friendly staff. Cute atmosphere. Good foods.
Delicious food at a very reasonable price.
The owners are very friendly too
The food is great and the staff is friendly. The only downside is the odd hours and having to have a reservation to dine in.
Great food, great staff. What's not to love?
When we picked up our online order, we were literally asked to NOT come back or ever order again because we asked for egg to be left off a dish (due to an allergy). The reasoning was having one person in the kitchen that cannot accommodate alterations and said if we had called instead of online ordered we would have been turned away.
We felt rejected and unwelcome. Thankfully Iβve never experienced this at any restaurant before or since.
The food was not very good and small portioned. The pad woon sen tasted like brown sugar and was so sweet I couldnβt finish it. It was full of onions and frozen crinkle cut carrots as filler with almost no chicken. The panang curry had spice but zero flavor. No loss in never returning but thought others should know.
Amazing service and food! The owners are also amazing people!
I ate here yesterday with friends from work and I enjoyed the orange chicken dish here and the egg rolls were absolutely delicious. I should have been given negative (-1) if I had option. Service is pathetic, we ordered food, we were told 20 mins for pick up. We reached after 30 min⦠even after 30 min food was not ready and after we reached they started preparing our order. The fun part was, while we were heading to restaurent we got a call that food is ready and if we will not reach in 5 min they will cancel the order as they are about to close.
Would not recommend as donβt want other to go through this situation.
We ordered at 6:43 PM, they got it ready at 08:00 PM.
Really good food, great service, normal/small portion size. Quality over quantity. Spicy fried rice was delicious.
Dine in was not an option as the sign read when walking in. I ordered takeout. Portions were very small compared to pre-Covid. Coconut soup was very oily and brown with large pieces of onions and oil floating at the top. Not at all what this is suppose to look like. Pad Thai had no peanuts or flavor. Whoever use to cook for this restaurant must have left with all the recipes because this place is winging in now.
Placed a carry out order. When we received our order at the restaurant it was bagged right in front of us. So we knew the order was correct before we left, which is very much appreciated! The food is always fresh and delicious! Would highly recommend!
Best Thai food in the region, hands down. I love the summer roll and som Tom for starters since they're fresh and have bright flavors. I used to be all about the pad Thai, but they convinced me to try something new, and since then it's been drunken beef or massamun curry. Both are Soo tasty. My husband usually likes the pineapple fried rice or pad see ew with chicken.
Yes, the restaurant is closed Tuesdays and it's always disappointing when you're craving their yummy food. However, I love that it's open Mondays because a lot of Asian restaurants are closed. The owners are delightful and have been good about making sure I'm happy. And, yes, they make me very happy.
If it's not sometimes I like to pop in just for a boba smoothie or iced coffee with egg rolls. I think my only complaint would be I wish they were closer to my house or offer delivery to Saint John. :-)
They pre-charge 20% tip.
The quality is okay, but quantity is lower compared to other places.
Food was good but portions are so small. Had to go and get some KFC after having dinner in here. Also, no menu for kids.
The service was excellent, and the waiter was engaging. The atmosphere was very cozy and cute. We ordered for our appetizers fried spring rolls, fried tofu, and pot stickers. For our main course, we ordered vegetable pad thai without baby corn and the orange chicken. The food tasted fresh and was delicious.
Taste was good. Portions were very less.
Overall pretty good food and service
The orange chicken and Thai fried rice are so delicious. I also love the Thai tea.
Really good authentic tai foods. Enjoyed every dishes and particularly mango with sweet sticky rice dessert!
Love spice. The food is great, the owner is super nice and a very hard worker. She makes great dishes. The only knock I'd give it would be the portion sizes are a little small, I think they should make them a bit bigger but it's hard to beat the tastes, especially in northwest Indiana.
Good Pad Thai with Chicken and Pad Seu
Me n family came in an hr before closed we couldn't be seated was told the chef was tired bad service I'll never try to eat there again
Really good!! Friendly fast waiter and the food was amazing. My wife and I 1st time here. Started with pot stickers, you can tell was home made. Then both of had had a different kind of curry, both were fantastic and of coarse each had a glass of wine π·.
Food is okay. Thai iced tea was too sweet. Not worth the drive and wait unfortunately.
My first time eating here was great but the second time I came not so great. My wife and I plus my son were turned around 1hr before closing.... It doesn't say you have to make reservations....All families matter...
Updated review. Owners are wonderful. Food was just OK. Fried rice was super greasy. Maybe it was an off night. Nice amount of heat in the soup and entree. Owner said most everything could be made gluten free if that is important to you. I will bring my wife back.
Came in and asked the waitress if we could have the table by the window. She seemed annoyed by this. We looked at the menu and noticed that they donβt have fresh summer rolls as shown on the online menu which is something I was really craving so we just left. Didnβt want to be rude but we didnβt feel very wanted there anyways..
Great service, good quality, great flavor. Everything was fresh and nice. Great curry and potstickers!
The food was delicious and the service was great.
I had drunken noodles (tofu) and a curry. Food was fresh and delicious. They are indeed understaffed, but the upside of that is that I dealt directly with the owner. Sheβs a very nice lady, and I wish her the best. If I were local, I would prioritize supporting this establishment.
Impeccable chicken. Iβm serious this is high quality stuff with just the right amount of seasoning to highlight how well-prepared it is. Underrated at 4.5 stars.
Great little spot with tasty veggie/vegan options
We visited this restaurant for the first time early on a Sunday afternoon. It was not crowded at that time. Each of the four of us in our party tried a different dish and we were not disappointed. The food was fresh and excellent. The owner was both server and chef on the day we were there and performed both jobs wonderfully. Spice levels in each dish was as requested and portions were large enough that a couple of us had some to take home. We will definitely return for more of this delicious Thai food.
We love SPICE thai cuisine. They have the best curry dishes, and yummy everything. We got to chat with the owner for a bit, and she made us feel like family. If you havenβt been, check out their hours of operation and go.
Delicious!!! The owner is running the entire restaurant by herself and doing an awesome job. Smaller menu with all the BEST options! We had Thai tea which is my absolute favorite, pot stickers, and 2 different kinds of curry. Loved every bite and can't wait to dine in again!
Delicious food in a quaint trendy spot with good vibes. Love the decor! This place is a hidden gem.
Place was real delight. We had take out, but was super impressed with the atmosphere inside. We will definitely be going back to dine in. The owner/chef seems to be running the place alone right now, and she is crushing it. The food was so good we were planning our next trip while we ate.
The very best Orange Chicken and Truly Awesome Green Curry! The owner was so personable and sweet. Someone you'd want as a next door neighbor. Its obvious to me that she cares about her business and the Patrons. Its tough out there, and I support small business like this.
The food Excellent, and that's the bottom line.
Excellent food, always fresh and very authentic Thai food. My favorite restaurant in NW Indiana!
It's good but you don't get a whole lot and it's a little more pricey than other Thai restaurants.
Can't get enough of the red curry!
Delicious food! When I visited this place was understaffed so they were only taking carry out orders! It would have been nice to sit and eat but anyways food was delicious!
Iβve been here twice. The food is tasty, but the portions are too small to justify the price. Plus they use a lot of onions and bell peppers as fillers. I would probably have given them a couple more tries, but they donβt have to go menus. I like to order from my car while on the way when Iβm out running errands in the area. Plus they got weird hours. I canβt be Googling every time I want to check their hours and look at their menu.
Amazing. Ate 2 meals it was so good!!!
Unwelcome to customer. Gratuity is 20β and is taxed. Food had msg chemical.
This is by far the best restaurant in Merriville. Stopped to spend the night for a road trip and all restaurants are chain but not Spice! The curry is deliciousness in a bowl and the orange chicken is to die for. The owner is so friendly! This place is a must!
No complaints here. Tried 3 of the appetizers. They were all very good as well as our meals. Staff was very nice and attentive.
My favorite Thai joint! Condolences to your family. Favorite customer patiently waiting for reopen.
I wish I could give more stars. I love the food and this place is ALOT nicer on the inside than on the outside. But it kills me because I work across the street and they close everyday at lunchtime? Being closed from 2- 5everyday is awful. That's literally prime time for eating and going on break for work. Because of this I can only give 3 stars. I can only ever catch them once in a blue moon because every time I try to order they are closed, they are almost always closed
If you're looking for a spot with great food and little foot traffic, this is the spot.
Looks are deceiving - inside much better than the outside! Staff were polite and friendly, dining area was clean and well-spaced. I'm not a big fan of thai food, but enjoy Drunken Noodle, and this was one of the best I'd had. The stir-fry options looked and sounded delicious also.
Will definitely be back!
*** Edit: I've been back a few more times for drunken noodle, as well as both the Thai Fried Rice and Spicy Fried Rice, both with chicken. The Thai Fried Rice especially had a *mouth-watering* flavor that almost made it taste like a grilled dish. They were both SO yummy!
Additionally - the hostess/server (need to get her name) remembered me from a previous visit, and genuinely adds a ray of sunshine to the visit. Very welcoming, helpful in explaining dishes (especially spicy options), and is very quick/efficient while offering a friendly smile.
Making Spice Thai a regular stop and will gladly recommend! Thank you!
Incredible food, wonderful service, cozy decor, great presentation...id be a new regular if I lived in the area. Will certainly be returning again (even though I live 4hours away.)
I love this place, tasty food great service and clean atmosphere!
Definitely coming back!
Sooo good! We ordered basil beef, panang curry with beef, and Tom yum soup creamy and clear. We loved everything and the service was great. You get to choose the level of spice. Protein options of tofu vegetable and chicken are the same price. Some dishes beef and shrimp is $1 more. Prices are great compared to other restaurants that are increasing their prices during this time. No fountain drinks so only soda cans. Our waitress was SO sweet. We will definitely visit again:)
Came in at 7:30 pm to try Spice Thai for the first time and the server told us the dining room was closed. They werenβt closing for another 30 mins. A complete waste of a 25 minute drive. Wonβt be returning.
Pleasant experience. The staff were both friendly and professional. Decent portions and a decent price.
First time there, good food. Massamun had sweet potatoes in it and was excellent, also had lots of onions.
My friends and I went in here for the first time in Thursday and it was AMAZING! The food tasted so damn good and I was shocked to barely see anyone inside. This will be the go-to next time we're in the area!!
Wasn't 1 thing on the menu that wasn't enjoyable. The curry was phenomenal and a great reheat the next day as well. Love this place and is definitely a go back many more times. Service was awesome.
Good food and good service
Best authentic Thai food in this area of Indiana. Staff is warm and friendly, beautiful music playing inside. Sleek and modern design and lots of cool art on the walls. Also super reasonable prices for quality! Definitely a new favorite ππ
My favorite Thai restaurant in Indian! I highly recommend Thai fried rice.
The service and food was amazing !
Great food, wrong order-so sad I couldnβt eat my food bc Iβm a vegetarian and both dishes had chicken even tho I ordered tofu. Husband picked out the chicken and made me tofu at home
Excellent Thai food. Nice atmosphere. Friendly staff.
My family loves Thai food and we try new Thai restaurants as much as possible. This place is by far the best Thai food we have ever had. We thoroughly enjoyed the larb, pad Thai, spicy basil rice and orange chicken. The service was also excellent. We can't wait to come back.
Great food, great service!!!
Pad Thai was mediocre. Had spicy, which it was, but basically red pepper flakes. Minimal flavor.
Very little serving for our food, rest of the comments are accurate about serving, food was good though, but if you pay $32 for red curry and Drunken noodle, food serving should reflect the price you pay!!!
Such a hidden gem!!!
I had the orange chicken with pot stickers ... DELISH
You can't go wrong here. Excellent food, excellent service. Best Thai Food in NW Indiana. Go here. You won't be sorry.
Food is so good! The owner are so great!
Delicious. Simply delicious.
When you order they donβt give you soy sauce and when you go back for it they give you 1. I would not recommend
One of the best places I've eaten at. The pad thai is my go to. Try the frozen bubble tea! It's delightful.
Workers are also very friendly and great at answering the phones right away. My new favorite place.
LOVE, LOVE the Food here!! Taste, portions, variety, & healthy drinks!
Fantastic Thai restaurant. Definitely a hidden gem of Northwest Indiana. Authentic food, reasonable prices and extremely delicious.
EDIT: They now have the option to make (almost) every menu item gluten free. Safe for those with Celiac disease!
Insanely fast, great service and food.
Clean, fast, and friendly service. Amazing fresh salad spring rolls, and Thai coffee.
Food was pretty good. We ordered the spicy fried rice which was fantastic, red Thai curry, and Thai iced tea.
We arrived without knowing a reservation is needed. I called before arriving and was told by the man who answered we could dine in, no problem. We arrive greeted by a mean and unpleasant woman, she was upset we did not have a reservation sitted us by the corner no lights on and had the nerve to say " will we finish our food less than an hour" at point we should have left but continued our meal. Not once did she come by our table to ask if we needed anything. I assume she's the owner she should stay in the kitchen and it not suited to be the host. We left without leaving a tip.
We have ordered here over a dozen times. This review is not about the quality or the flavor. Itβs about the fact that they continue to serve less food than they used to for the same price. They put the curry in square containers this time that looked to be 1/2 to 3/4 the normal amount. Luckily we had an old cylindrical container they used to use and I filled the new square container with water and poured into into one of their old containers. It was barely half of what they used to serve for the same price. In addition they have always been stingy with the rice so we ordered and payed for more. There is not even enough curry to cover the amount of rice that comes with it. Very very disappointed. I will not be ordering from here again. We will be ordering from Asparagus from now on given they give a portion proportionate to the price. Shame on you Spice. I hope the amount you are saving by meager portions will help you survive. We supported you during the pandemic. I
now, Iβll be letting my friends know to order from Asparagus a block away! Good luck!
Delicious food and great staff
Besides the hiccup in technology, great food and atmosphere!! Will come back
I love Thai food and was excited to find a place near my work.
The ladies that took my order was very nice and customer service was amazing.
I love Red coconut curry but when I have order from other places it has a little kick but not to hot.The ladies did tell me it was mild to medium heat and I was ok with it.
This curry was HOT, very spicy. I couldn't eat it and I only found 4 small pieces of chicken and rest was peppers. Thought for 12.95 that was high for the little i received.
I also order the egg rolls and they were very small, raw and doughy.
The reason I gave 2 stars is because the mango sticky rice dessert was really goodand customer service was also good.
So sad because I really wanted to like this place. $28 was to high for a meal I couldn't eat.
Delicious, authentic and fresh Thai food with wonderful service. Great spice! Fun & casual atmosphere. Always a treat! Mango sticky rice is delish!
Absolute hidden gem! I had to get of the highway due to an accident and just happened to cone across this place.
The environment is cozy and inviting and the staff very nice and accommodating. The food itself as next level. Some of the best red curry I've ever had. I will definitely be back.
Awesome service and delicious food. As a bonus: the restaurant is very well decorated. Highly recommend the desserts!
What a gem in a discouraging wasteland of cookie-cutter corporate sameness. Seriously, this part of Merrillville is like a nightmare of big boxes and franchises. And then, hidden in the middle of it all, is Spice Thai Cuisine.
It was disappointing to see it so empty when I visited, especially with all the national chain restaurants doing a brisk business. But those not dining at Spice Thai Cuisine are the ones losing out.
STC has a broad variety of Thai food standards. On my visit I had Chicken Satay and Basic Stir Fry Chicken. The satay was three generous skewers of nicely seasoned meat and a tangy peanut sauce. The stir fry was cooked well, with vegetables that still had crunch and a nice blend of heat and flavor.
Service was friendly and attentive.
While it wasnβt a life-changing meal, STC was a solid, delicious offering that wasnβt just something from another factory kitchen.
So amazing. The ambiance. The service. The food. Everything! Amazing! π
Pad thai is a common dish in the Thai kitchen. If you can't get that right, should you be in the business? The location is hard to find. Although, very clean and elegant. My dish was not tasty at all. And service was poor to say the least.
Food was delicious!
Call the restaurant just place an order I told The lady what I want and instead of her asking me what type of sauce I want with it she basically asked me what kind so now Iβm lost in the middle of a conversation then she told me to hang up my phone and call her back when I go on the Internet and look for the menu like she was on the phone and she can just serve me right there like thatβs not her job Then she have attitude once I finish my order when I asked her how long the order going to be so long story short I never picked up that order The way she had with me on the phone I thought she might spit in it
Great food and service
