Pint-size Thai joint offers a buzzy Thursday-night buffet & traditional à la carte menu.
Been going to this place for 20+ yrs. It was our favorite Thai place for a very long time. About 2-3 yrs ago, things changed, and not for the better. (I believe they hired a new chef.) Only thing I will say is the spice level is not predictable at all. You ask for mild, you may get Thai hot. You ask for hot, you could get very mild. I gave them a few more visits to see if things improved, but it never did, so stopped going & would not recommend anymore.
Thai Taste never disappoints. It’s been a minute since I’ve eaten here…. It’s been a favorite of my family’s for 20+ years. I am so glad to see the they are still running a great business; the food quality remains awesome, the owner STILL waits tables and serves, and he continues to make his famous homemade ice cream. And wait - the prices have not increased…. I’m sure the prices are the same range as at least a couple years ago. Shocking considering food costs have gone up every where.
Despite that, our portions were still great and the food was absolutely delicious.
Pictured: #42 Pla Sarm Ross (deep fried tilapia), #37 Seafood medley, #40 Pud Thai with chicken, and homemade mint ice cream.
Do yourself a favor and save room for ice cream. If you’re really wanting something special, save room for rum cake AND ice cream.
We came for a date night, and found a quaint little treasure in middle of an unexpected location. Would much like to see the diamond in the rough, reach a much more balance playing field to display their amazing talents for the kitchen. Staff was very polite and items arrived in order. Tasting something old and something new, our pallets left very pleased and our bellies full. Thank you for the evening
We went to this place for dinner right before the movie. I ordered the curry with peanut flavor, my daughter ordered green curry with chicken and my son ordered some kind of vegetables with chicken. Also we ordered Thai dumplings for the appetizer. Personally I didn’t like Thai dumplings. I’d rather have either Chinese or Korean dumplings. Besides that, all three dishes are good. We had a good time.
Although the noodles (pad see ew), which landed first, were underwhelming in almost every way, the other dishes (pla muek pud ped & pla duk pud ped - squid with chili paste and sole fish fillet in a red curry sauce, respectively) were so good everyone promptly forgot all about that. Will definitely be back for the wide variety of authentic Thai dishes that are not as well known stateside, and suggest you do the same!
Excellent! The food is vary tasty. I found little pricy but may be worth it.

餐點還不錯
店員很親切也有像在家吃飯的溫馨感
I love this place. Great food great service!
This is a family-owned business location. The food is always great quality and the service is always prompt and professional. It's not a fancy place but a reliable and enjoyable environment.
Veggie pumpkin curry - perfection
I recommend the fried rice, thai toast, salmon with red curry, sesame chicken, mieng kum, rum cake
Mi lugar favorito desde hace 10 años
great coconut soup and sweet local family making authentic food!
Best Thai food ever! Soothing ambience! Sweet staff!
Yummy Thai food.
My favorite Thai place in Indy. The people are wonderful and the food is FANTASTIC.
Soooo good! Loved the food and great service like pull up fr
Thailand!
This cute little restaurant does not disappoint. The Pad Thai was wonderful and there was quite a bit of shrimp in it! be warned the Tom Yum soup is super spicy-I didn't see that coming. My spring roll was over cooked but overall great restaurant! The service excellent.
Known by name, I love this family friendly place. Miss seeing the wife, but she smiling down from the clouds🕊️
Authentic Thai.
First visit today for lunch. Found a recommendation on a local foodie page. So glad we checked it out! Food was perfectly spiced as requested (my nose was running and my head was sweating.) They had some of the best crab rangoon I’ve ever eaten. The server was very friendly and helpful. We will definitely be back to check out the dinner menu.
Delicious Thai food, lovely people.
Thai Taste: A Culinary Delight!
My experience at Thai Taste was nothing short of exceptional. Gathering with seven other adults, we dove into a culinary journey that left us all impressed. What struck us first was the affordability without compromising on quality or taste. Every dish, from the Pad Thai to the perfectly balanced Thai Ice cream, showcased the authenticity and mastery of Thai cuisine. The ambiance was cozy, the service prompt and friendly, and the flavors? Absolutely unforgettable. Thai Taste is a must-visit for anyone craving an authentic Thai experience without breaking the bank. A heartfelt recommendation from our group!
I got the shrimp cashew and water chestnut meal. Mild seasoned. OMG. SO GOOD. SOOOOOO GOOD.
Every time I visit Indiana, I come here for this specific dish.
This is a small family owned restaurant, give them a shot.
Great flavor in the noodles and the appropriate amount of heat, but the meat was all very tough.
The pad see ewe was not good at all. It was also really dirty inside. The table cloths were all covered in food
Great Thai place! Great freshness and textures, and of course great taste. Highly recommend!
One of the best lunch I have ever had my life. The soups entree and THAT RUM CAKE is to die for. Don’t think twice just go for it.
Love this place but PSA they are closed 3-5pm! Google hours need updated
I got a take out order for my family today. Not sure about the other dishes, but my Chicken Pad Thai was very disappointing. It was colorless and the taste was bland as well. I wouldn't go here again :(
I ordered crab rangoon which had a pinch of curry in the cream cheese with a yellow tinge. Most pieces were good. Last couple bits got spicy.
I ordered red curry with pineapple and green beans called Gaeng Kua Subpraross. I ordered mild spicy. It was super spicy like level 5, if 1-5 5 being hottest. I waited for the food temperature to cool and that only helped a little. I ate what I could a few bites with lots of time in between. When I laid down for the night I ended up getting sick. Lots food came back up which allivated some heart burn. It was entirely too spicy for a mild dish. I can not recommend the curry unless you like fire down your throat, sweating, nose running. Will skip in future. This restaurant is more affordable but not what I needed. Meal for 2 items was $19.
It is a yummy restaurant but it is not good when you DoorDash! They just don’t follow instructions and for some reason it is not quality when it comes to your door! They should just stop this option cause it pisses me off I spend all this money and I get it and throw it in the trash! I am a regular customer so it really makes me mad
Wonderful food in an oddly homey Midwestern themed restaurant
Extremely courteous staff as well
2023 Update
We came late for dessert and they didn't have any ripe mango to go with the sticky rice, so we shared the homemade coconut ice cream, the homemade mint ice cream and the homemade rum cake. Not disappointed at all. The flavor was so good.
2016
We shared a lovely cod, scallop, shrimp, and squid dish with a ginger sauce. It included some lightly steamed vegetables, rice, and soup or salad with a dessert. They give you an option for the level of heat. The service is always good and for less than $20 I am fully satisfied. We had to take a walk down to the grocery store and back to let our food digest.
This is the restaurant where I discovered I love Thai food. It is the standard by which I judge every other Thai restaurant. Best red curry dish ever. Pad Kee Mao is amazing. Deserts are to die for. 👍👍
The tofu sarm ross and papaya salad are the best!
OMG. Don’t judge a book via cover, right?! The food here is delicious, and the price is extraordinary. My son and I had lunch for $20 total—soup, pad thai, spring rolls. He had beef pad thai, and I had it with tofu. The tofu version is loaded with vegetables. The vegetables are prepped beautifully—carrots have frilly edges; cakes have stripes. Peanuts on top—fabulous. Stop here for lunch!
Literally hands down my favorite Thai spot in indy! It's such a cozy spot! They make an effort to try and remember you. And the food, THE FOOD is amazing! Highly recommend ❤️

Great food, great lunch special, very nice family owned service! My favorite Thai restaurant in Indy!
I’m a customer of Thai taste for over 10 years. The owner is from Thailand 🇹🇭 , and you can feel it in the food, if you want authentic Thai food, this is the place to go!
Didn't eat, but had a wonderful time with friends and the service they received was exceptional.
One of the best Thai restaurants in Indy. Authentic Thai food.
Likes: We received recommendations from a friend and decided to try it out. All dishes we ordered were delicious served and in fair portions. Dislikes: we think dishes could be served more together rather several mins in between. I felt bad getting my food first and dinner partner was starving but had to watch me eating. I finished half way and had to pause, sobwe could at least dine together. Second thing I didn’t like has to do with setting presentation. I liked the authentic Thai decors but turned off by the big dirty brown spots on the inside of the entrance door. It looks like something that just needs a quick soapy scrubbing. The entrance door is one of the first thing guests see, and it should at least be kept in nice clean condition. First impression is important.
Today at Thai Taste, I indulged in yet another delicious serving of green curry. Just like in Thailand, my favorite is the Thai hot variety. Meanwhile, my daughter opted for the Spicy Chicken dish. As always, we had a fantastic dining experience and enjoyed the delectable food that Thai Taste consistently provides.
Great food. I have been going here for years and never had a bad experience.
I made the delightful choice of ordering the Yellow Curry from Thai Taste, and it turned out to be an incredibly satisfying dish. One of the things that impressed me the most was the ability to customize the spice level according to my preference, ranging from a mild flavor to a fiery Thai hot sensation.
Absolutely great food! I’ll keep coming back.
Absolutely gorgeous in the inside. Nice service and good food.
The crispy chicken is amazing. Drive from the Southside for this amazing food.
Delicious food! The absolute best crab Rangoon I've ever tasted!
The food is incredible. The best Tom kha and Tom yum I’ve ever had from the east coast to the west coast! Absolutely ask for some chili flake on the side of the Tom kha if you get it. The rice is always fluffy and perfect. Amazing green curry! Just make sure you get your order to go.. I’ve dined in twice and was bothered by the servers child. Not to the degree I’ve read in other reviews, but he did come to my table and try to play with his toys on it. Another customer came in for a pick up during one of the times I dined in and the child was jumping up and down trying to get the customer to pick him up. A coworker of mine doesn’t dine in for the same reason. It’s a very awkward experience. I give four stars because the food really is SO GOOD, fresh, and so comforting.
Hands down best Thai curry in town. Comes in large portions too
Had to leave because an employee's child kept punching me in the arm and dipping their fingers in my water, also removed my boyfriend's straw from his beverage and threw it. This happened twice before I even had any food. I am still shocked. We left. I want to pay for food without being hit by someone's unattended child, unbelievable. My boyfriend had to keep telling this kid to stop hitting me, for the second time it happened.
Love this place!
Great food. I enjoy the variety on the menu. It is a tiny family-owned business. Some of the desserts sell out and that make me sad.
Got the chicken Satay , So as a Thai person I expected a peanut sauce not a sweet chillie sauce for
2023- this place used to be my absolute favorite! Since the original owner isn’t there anymore, it’s gone down hill. Food isn’t as good, quality has changed and the waitress has her 2 1/2 year old son running around the restaurant interrupting customers. Sadly disappointing
Still the BEST AUTHENTIC THAI!!!! Must try , won’t be disappointed, im half thai and I’ve tried other spots. Food isn’t made the same or have the same flavor. Keep in mind from 3pm-5pm they close for lunch/break time. Except weekends I believe they stay open
Nice Thai restaurant. The only issue was the cooks' kid that kept bugging the customer. Also, the spice level is more spicy than you think, so order accordingly.
Excellent Thai restaurant!
First time eating Thai. Hubby had been trying to get me to try for years. Stopped here and LOVED everything about it. Delicious! Can’t wait to come back.
Good place
This hole in the wall gem is great find if you're in the area. The owners are great people and always very friendly. The food is everything you'd expect. Please support this business
The spring rolls are a must 😋
Great service, great food. I am really glad our original choice was closed. I had the spicy basil seafood. I ordered medium. It was the right amount of heat to taste the heat, but still enjoy the other flavors in the meal.
Authentic Thai cuisine at its best. I love this place. We would eat here every night if it was closer. We live down by the fairgrounds. So it's a destination point for when we want to go out for good food. And do not order the five star if you can't handle the heat. They don't play around here. Lol .
As I'm writing this review... my mouth is watering just thinking of all the delicious offerings...
Go there enjoy a fabulous meal and go tell all your friends and family.. you will be glad you did.
This used to be a go to spot . And while the food is still good it has lost something 😞. The staff is very nice though
Literally one of the best lunches I have ever had.
Love their food. PAD Thai is my to go menu.
My favorite Thai food! Love the Tom Yum soup!!
This place is always spot on with their Thai food! They may be a little slow but worth it and everyone is so nice!
Food was delicious especially the chicken when you get the silver noodles there like clear and it looks really cool I loved it
We got Thai fried rice and pud kee mow. The food was tasty and had a good flavor. The kee mow was a bit more oily than we liked but it was still good.
Sort of a hole in the wall small place with a reasonable menu and reasonable prices. Friendly and tasty. I'll be back.
This is the best Thai place in Indianapolis. It's locally owned and the prices are reasonable. The quality of the food is freshly made to order and you can tell when you eat it that it is made with love. 10 out of 10. Ive ate here many times and they are very friendly and kind and the food taste amazing. Give it a try.
Great flavor, fair quantity, fair prices. My favorite Thai restaurant, though I do miss their rum cake that used to come with their lunch specials!
Excellent Food! Great Service!
Best Thai curry in town. Get their Thai toast!
Fabulous food. It's just too bad that there is not much seating. Worth the wait though.
The food was really good but me, my sister and my roommate all got food poisoning from here. I’m assuming it was a one off thing based on other reviews tho.
I did go here just for the soup! it's amazing!!!!
Excellent Pad Thai and Silver Noodle soup. Good prices on the lunch menu.

The best Thai food in Indy. I've been eating here for years!
Had their spicy noodle soup (forgot the name) it was very tastefully spicy - not underwhelming, but not over the top. The whole restaurant environment is very warm and calming, warm colors and lights with a classical music backdrop, paired with the food, it felt like a warm spring afternoon.
Very good
Best thai in Indy
Fantastic red curry with tofu. Also had pad thai, and was not disappointed. The setting is cozy.
My 2nd review using 2 different google accounts, just goes to show how much I love this place. It's a family owned Thai restaurant, don't expect it to be fast. IT IS NOT FAST FOOD. I highly recommend pad thai and chicken satay.
The best Thai food in North of Indianapolis
Too small didn't stay to eat service slow
What a great place! Delicious flavors, awesome service. My companion wanted heat and was happy. My basil noodle dish was fantastic. They had a Thai toast that was phenomenal. Just a pleasant experience all-round.
If you are looking for delicious, authentic Thai, look no further. Best in Indy! Our favorites are the thai duplings, spring rolls, crispy chicken (spicy), chicken pad thai, and their rum cake 😋
Really good red curry. Soup as an appetizer was also really good and slightly spicy. My curry was Hot but not overwhelming. Service was a touch slow but food was worth it. The salad dressing is really good if you go for the salad. Pad Thai was tasty. Would definitely come back.
Worst Thom yum I've had. Ever. On top of being a garbage broth they diced up the lemongrass and lime leaf which are inedible. Payed for a "pot" and got a small. Almost drove back and returned it but didn't want to cause a scene. 14 dollars for a cup of limey water and I'm still hungry.
First time visit. Food was phenomenal. Will definitely visit again.
The service was extremely bad! No one came to take order for a while; we had to hunt them down to place our order and had to wait for 30 mins to get just the soup with no appetizer yet (oh by the way we hadn't even got water to the table !) We got done with soup and kept waiting for our entrees for another 15 mins only to get the cheque with no food !! They were ridiculous and very rude
Very authentic, gave me great recommendations
We ordered take-out tonight, two chicken pad thai entrees and two orders of spring rolls.
The pad thai was very good and we enjoyed it immensely.
The spring rolls however tasted very strongly of black pepper. I couldn't eat more than half of one and I was grateful that I ate it last so it didn't ruin the taste of the pad thai.
The full menu isn't available online at the time of this review, but I took photos and uploaded them with this review to help others.
Customer service was excellent and the staff are very courteous. We will be back!
Some of the best Thai food in Indy, I’ve been coming here for at least ten years and the quality is top-notch and consistent.

Great place! Reminded me of my time in Thailand. Our server was sweet and polite and the food was delicious.
Friendly service and good food, would reccomend :)
Excellent food and service. Thai tea was the best I've had. #25 with shrimp was very spicy and delicious. #20 with chicken was not spicy, but amazing Thai flavor. Tom ka and coconut shrimp peanut wraps were tops. Thanks Thai Taste, we'll be back soon.
Delicious
Excellent food , speedy preparation and an easy carryout
The food and service were very good. Good value as the food was plentiful and very tasty.
Authentic flavors. Not sweetened for American palettes. If you get Thai hot it is truly hot.
We come here often when we are on this side of Indy
We have been long time patrons at Thai Taste for more than 10 years. I was sad to see that quality has been affected due to, what appears to be, the financial stain of the pandemic. We ate lunch here today.
The soup portions seemed smaller. The lunch prices went up for the majority of the items. The curry tasted weaker, and now there is no dessert rum cake included.
Overall still good food, but just sad to see subpar quality.
Just fantastic. Food service and experience.
Best red curry I've ever eaten!!
I got carry out last week and the chicken Pad Thai was really good. The price was reasonable too.
Delicious and excellent customer service
Sooo delicious and clean area!!!
Amazing food, great service, some of the best Thai in the area
Delicious food, kind staff. A great place for lunch or dinner.
Peking duck is where it's at!
Very good food, quality ingredients. Lovely couple who run the place. But "medium" was too hot for me.
Excellent food and service
Great food, super authentic and not too expensive either. If you do go, get a thing of the coconut soup as an appetizer, it's fantastic.
Great food. Quaint, authentic, family owned spot. Thursday is all vegetarian buffet. Who else does something that awesome?!
I LOVE the food here. Pre-COVID my mom and I loved going to the vegetarian buffet. Hopefully that can be a thing again in the future. My go to order is Pad Kee Mao Thai hot with tofu, the fried pumpkin appetizer (with extra cucumber/onion/hot pepper salad), and a Thai iced tea. It’s so good and the people that work here are very nice.
Great flavor, very affordable
Very good Thai food.
My new favorite Thai restaurant in the city. Great service and everyone masked up and being safe. Food was wonderful!
Absolutely hands down the best Thai I have ever eaten. I've got my wife hooked too.
Sam the owner is wonderful, the food is superb and just an overall great experience! Thanks to Sam and his staff for making us feel welcome 🙏 😊
The food is always fresh and flavorful. Service is always prompt, helpful, and courteous. The location is always clean. The owners are an absolute delight. I’ve been to flashier places with more complex, modern fare, but it is rare to find a place so completely consistent as this one.
