This is the first time here and one of the best Thai restaurants I’ve been to. The other one was take out only, so we came here instead. As a last minute decision, they seated 5 of us! The place is in a strip mall but it’s big, spacious, plenty of tables and it’s clean! The service was good, but they served our meals as they were ready so we had to wait for all of us to have our dishes. That’s the only issue here. Staff were friendly and can’t complain about this healthy option of a restaurant. And yes my kids asked why we were going here to a mall when we pulled up, only to be amazed at the food inside…

Enjoyed the Crab and cream cheese Rangoons, Ginger chicken was amazing. I was hoping for sticky rice and mango but they were out opening an opportunity for me to try something new, Thai custard. Yep, initially I wasn’t sure but would do that one again 👍👍😁.

I arrived before my friend, and was greeted and seated right away. My friend arrived about 5 min after me. In those 5 min, the server only filled our water glasses, and didn’t introduce herself or offer to take my drink order. Even after my friend arrived, the server took an additional 5 min to come back. There were no other tables in the restaurant. After she took our drink orders, she came back with my drink a few minutes later, but she forgot my friend’s Diet Coke. She left too quickly for us to alert her of her error, so we had to wait to say something when she came back to take our food order.

My margarita came frozen, even though it didn’t mention that on the menu. It wasn’t fully blended though, so the chunks of ice made it hard to drink.

We ordered the spicy grilled beef and calamari tempura for apps. The spicy grilled beef was our favorite. The calamari was too rubbery and over battered for my taste.

I ordered the Tom Kha Gai soup. (The staple which I judge all Thai restaurants by.) The overall flavor was 3 out of 5, at best. It was 40% chopped bell peppers, 5% chicken, 5% lemongrass and kafir lime leaves/cilantro, and 50% broth/coconut milk. I’ve NEVER had Tom Kha WITHOUT MUSHROOMS!! 🤯

My friend ordered the 5 star chicken. I only had one bite, so I can’t fully rate it. It didn’t have much flavor for me though.

Finished with the Taro Pearls for dessert. Although the Taro was technically squares and not pearls, it was still delicious.

Overall, the prices were decent, but none of the food, drinks or service would make me want to come back.

Best Thai food ever! Very tasty and authentic. Service is impeccable an atmosphere is like fine dining but casual is fine.

We ate here last night for the first time, and had a great experience on all counts. Service was prompt, attentive, and friendly, dinner quality was excellent, ample, fresh, and flavorful, priced surprisingly moderate, and the restaurant and rest room was meticulously clean. Highly recommended!

We are regulars here but this visit was very different. We ordered tofu curry fired rice, the food was extremely bland dobt know what went wrong. The waitress though extremely nice couldn't explain why the food was so bland. I guess everyone has a bad day but we were eagerly waiting to have the delicious food they normally serve. It's time to move on and have other option.

We ordered different curries and fish meals. All of them were extremely sweet especially the curries. It was sweeter than every deserts you can every imagine. What is the point to put tons of sugar in a main dish? We couldn't even eat half of our plates. We had Japanese guests, just not to create a scene front of them we didn't return the plates but unfortunately it was such a big disappointment. Only the spring rolls and tea was delicious

Excellent food. Vegetable red curry was the best. Their hot level is 1-5 so 3 is medium. I ordered level 4 which was really hot. The service is good as well as a family restaurant.

We’ve been to Montri Thai a few times to eat dinner, and decided to cater from them for an event. It couldn’t have been better! They were able to accommodate multiple special dietary needs, labeled everything, and all our guests loved the food! From the spring rolls to the basil fried rice to their curries, you can’t go wrong. Highly recommend!

The Po Tak Soup had a small portion with only 3 shrimps and 2 mussels, making it a bit pricey. However, other dishes were enjoyable. The Spring Rolls were small and lacked noodles.

The Crab Rangoon pieces are huge and delicious! I also ordered the Chicken Panang Curry and loved it. The medium spice was perfect for me.

Hands down the best Thai food in the area! We have tried most of the other Thai restaurants in the area. No one comes close. Our favorite dishes are the Basil fried rice, Panang Curry, Spicy Basil Leaf and Pad Ke Mao.

I usually don't write reviews but this experience made me write one.I went on Saturday for lunch and had the worst experience ever. The staff is pretty racist towards Indians, the lady who claimed that she is the manager asked us to pay 18% gratuity by the “rule” for any size of table even before giving us the menu and this “rule” only applied for Indians, when I asked her to call the owner regarding the same she denied.I have been to this place many time but never experienced this.This was very frustrating, I wont be ever returning to this place and would advise folks to stay away from this place.

It was a Saturday and was in a perfect mood to eat Thai food. I went to montri thai, probably worst decision of my life. One lady came to take our order and first thing she told was we will charge 18% gratuity for your table. I was confused as why she is saying specific to our table. Then after food came and everything, I was still thinking about what she said. Then I called another lady and asked as I could barely understand their accent. She said yes we will charge 18% gratuity for your county people. And I was shocked as hell. I mean what just had happened was something I never experienced in my life at any other restaurant in United States. What they told me was about Indians not paying tip so they will charge 18% gratuity for Indians. I was short of words. worst Thai restaurant I have ever been too. So disrespectful to customers. Eventually she told us please order to go and not dine in at the restaurant. How can you tell your customers to not come and dine in. That lady was very rude and claimed herself as manager when asked if she can call a manager. Also asked to call the owner which they simply refused to. If you are Indian I would recommend not to visit this restaurant. I am never going back again at this place and definitely going to tell the same to all my friends.

Racism at its worst! I was shocked what I experienced in my last visit. The server who said she is a manager asked us that we need to pay 18% tip. I didn't understand what she talked as I could barely understand her accent. Later I came to know they are asking 18% gratuity for only Indians. I still cannot get over this worst experience. And after that server asked us not to dine in at this place and order to go only. I was so frustrated how can you ask customers to not to come and dine in. I am never ordering from this place again. My son was in town and he loves Thai food. My family never had it so we said we would try it. All I can say is "Wow". There were 8 of us in total and not one of them complained. The food was sooo good. I started eating then realized I wanted to take a picture of the food. Oops. The flavor was spot on. We ordered a few appetizers. One was Grilled Spicy Beef which was excellent and not too spicy. Crab Rangoon - I don't eat it but everyone else loved it. My main dish was Pad Kee Mao which is the drunken noodle. Best Asian food I've ever had. Everyone else was in agreement. We will definitely return. The waitress was very personable as well. My son was able to speak to her in Thai. Great experience!

I was craving Thai food and since it's Easter Sunday, it was close and the only other place open. Tried their Basil fried rice and red curry with Tofu spicy. If you like spicy....get a 5! I tried a 5, and it ended up being a bit too spicy (now I know for next time, lol). But excellent food, very friendly place and people! The best thing about this place is that in vegetarian dishes, their very accommodating with dietary restrictions. I'll definitely be coming back here when I'm craving Thai food again! Overall, great service and food!

Seems more authentic. Perhaps it is just appeal to the American palate, but the freshness and scrumptious symphony of flavors will appeal to most palates.

We usually order for pick up. I got the angel wings and the red curry. My husband got the combination fried rice. There’s not a lot of Thai places by our house so this was our only choice. It’s good food for the price. The portions are pretty big. It’s not the best I’ve ever had but it’s good if you want try something different.

Came here for lunch with coworker, and was blown away! I like Thai food but fell in love at first bite of their Massaman curry. I can honestly say it is the best I have ever had - flavorful, perfect amount of heat, and added pork to it which was surprisingly tender. And their rice is even note worthy- flavorful with a hint of nutty sesame that teases your nose in a delightful way throughout the meal. I cannot wait to try other dishes here but also can't stop thinking about my first one! To add to this most pleasant find, the service was nothing short of phenomenal. Super friendly, and you can actually feel the positive energy in this place. They are cooking up some magic in that kitchen, and serving it up with a side of happiness. Don't pass up this little gem!

Solid Thai food place, good food for a decent price

The flavor, the taste, it's amazing. They servings are huge, but when you are done eating them, you just want more, it's so delicious.

Excellent food, and everyone is always really nice. I’ve never had a bad meal from here, and the one time there was an issue with my order, they were fast and kind and fixed it immediately. The price adds up, but it’s worth it when I’m craving Thai.

My overall grade for Montri Thai Fine Cuisine is: C+

This restaurant is about 20 minutes from where I live, so it was a bit of a drive to get there. The original reason we switched from our "regular" Thai place was that our regular place no longer carries our favorite appetizer: Tod Mun (fish cakes) and Monti Thai does carry them, so we tried this place to see if it would become our new regular spot.

I do try different things on Thai menus as I try to expand my horizons, but invariably, we also order the very typical stuff: Tod Mun, Chicken Satay and Pad Thai (with tofu).

So this review is about those 3 items which we really use as a benchmark to see if we will return.

Let's start with the original reason: Tod Mun - this dish appears easy to make and a savory fish cake, not unlike crab cakes, but it's really a homogenous batter of fish and emulsifiers to keep it all together, that is fried and served with a sauce that is primarily vinegar tasting with some onions and peppers and other vegetables. Our family goes crazy for this - but it's becoming increasingly hard to find - not sure why.

The Tod Mun here tasted "old" and "rubbery" and was pretty small compared to the other Thai places we visit. I was sad to say that the 1st bite I took told me all I needed to know - we will probably not get a new regular place based on this. But I didn't give up.

Chicken Satay - super easy-to-love appetizer with a peanut sauce. This dish was actually ok. The peanut sauce was good and they provided a generous portion to dip your chicken into. Unfortunately, the chicken was overcooked and dry and also seemed to have been re-heated. No bueno.

Pad Thai - ok - this is the mainstay of many Thai restaurants. You have to have good pad Thai to stay in business, right? While the portion size was generous, the flavor was just "good". It was not bad, and unfortunately, not really good. Just average.

So, if you live close to Montri Thai and you want a quick Thai take out place - this place will do "just fine". But if you're looking for something that stands out from the others and is worth a 40-minute roundtrip, this is probably not the place for you. Especially, if you've enjoyed amazing Thai cuisine in the city which is way too far for us to drive on a regular basis.

For now, we will continue hunting for a new favorite and regular Thai restaurant, but we will not be returning here in the future.

This is pretty little place in Warrenville, love Thai food here. They have such a flavourful Hawaiian rice! Also tried several vegetarian appetizers avocado rolls, spring rolls (they are soft not crispy but still v tasty), and Pad Kee Mao noodles with Tofu, super tasty !
