Food was fantastic and well portioned. The kitchen is ran by 2 little older ladies, so you know everything has to be good. Will definitely be back, but recommend take out.
This place was one of the WORST Thai places I have ever eaten for the first time! I ordered Basil Fried Rice with Jumbo Shrimp for a whopping $18.69!!!
First of all, the rice was soaked in some sort of oil when I opened the container I wanted to throw up. The rice was so damn soggy and stuck together like mashed potatoes. There was no taste or flavor, just wet, tasteless, soggy rice in some strange oil!! Wtf happened to the damn flavor? I specifically and very carefully explained to the non-English speaking order taker over the telephone how to prepare my dish. I asked her to repeat it back to me twice! PLEASE ππ½ DO NOT waste your money, like I did at this place or you will be so sadly disappointed. I am so pissed off that I wasted my hard-earned money on this hole-in-a-wall establishment! Never again will I ever return! Damn! I should have canceled my order when I walked in the door and there were no customers in the restaurant nor did I smell the aroma of good-smelling food being prepared. Run, fast from this place! Save your coins π°.
I rarely will post about a bad experience in a restaurant because we worked in the business and understand it could just be a bad day... I have to share a horrible experience with Thai Town in South Elgin. We wanted to try something new and trust me we will not go that route again. Called the order in for pick up and was told it would be ready in 20 minutes, went it took another 35 minutes waiting. We ordered 2 pad Thai meals, sesame chicken meal and an order of calamari. While I was there the kids wanted the soda with the tapioca( which I thought would be maybe a few dollars 5.00 a piece). I was handed a tiny bag and pulled up a screen to tip her 9.00 or more on the meal I was picking up, they would deliver for 6.00. We are all for tipping but really... I did tip 3.00 like a fool.. The drinks the kids threw out because they said it tasted like bleach. Charged 9.95 we were given literally 8 calamari. They told my son when he questioned why it was so small that calamari is expensive???
We came home and I was just so disgusted and showed my husband so he called the owner got on the phone and he explained to her that he wanted half our money back because it was so bad. She said bring it all back and we said fine we will be right there ( it was terrible). The son called before we left screaming "How dare you talk to my mother that way and my husband said I was very nice to your mother but I am very very dissatisfied with your service and food. The son said keep the food and fight your bank, I will not give you back your money!!! They said they have to feed their family and could not give a refund to us and my husband said he was simply trying to feed his family and it was unacceptable food and service. The 8 calamari were literately rubber bands dipped in breading served with a watered down sweet and sour sauce..... Longest post I have ever written... Wish I would have read the Yelp and Google Reviews First!!!! Pictures will not post but will upload if I can so you can decide for yourself..
We ordered the shrimp cashew fried rice. The shrimp tasted and smelled like it was not cleaned.
The Rama noodles delight is truly one of the most delicious things Iβve ever eaten! Iβve ordered it so many times and itβs never once been bad. So many fresh veggies and the noodles and sauce are delectable! One of my favorite things to order from here. The fried shumai are super delicious too and the sauce they come with is phenomenal. Love this spot!

Friendly service, cozy cute restaurant, super great taste and authetic Thai food!!
They didn't give me all the food when I returned they made me pay for it again. They didn't know how to manage their payment ipad and couldn't communicate in English. I will never go back to them try Zaab Thai instead.
The spice levels vary purchase to purchase. When I said 1 out of 5 once there was thai chili flakes EVERYWHERE all over it, i literally couldnt eat it, why? There should be none if you dont have a 0 out of 5 rating. And then when a friend ordered a basil thai 5 out of 5 and loved the spice level and then ordered again this time 5 out of 5 and it was too hot. I'm not saying 5 out of 5 shouldn't be hot, I'm saying the inconsistency has a lack of trust and means I won't waste money here. They change cooks every once in awhile but they need to regulate the recipes.
The food came out quick and tasted amazing ! The ladies in there were so sweet!

I've been a customer since they had the restaurant in the last spot. The food from this place is the best Thai food I've ever had in the 15 years living here. The cooking method and season everything perfectly. Noodles my favorite Pad see eiw. My husband is shrimp fried rice. Most of all 1. Satay chicken sticks with a sweet satay sauce..... yummm
Food is delicious, authentic Thai. This place is one of my favorites, but Bangkok Thai in Crystal Lake / Lake In The Hills is probably the best in the area, but this place has good Thai as well.
1st time there and I had hair in my food!! Brought to their attention and order was taken off I totally ordered a different plate, didnβt want to just switch plates π«€. I ordered spicy beef Mongolia VERY SMALL portion for a lunch special, ( probably like a 1/2 cup of food) for $10.95 and you get 2 crab ragoons which were π. No crab, just celery & carrots no flavor with cream cheese, really disappointed was really looking forward to a new place. Service was good. Might try 1 more time before I no longer go back. But I agree with some reviews portions are rather small for price and very limited to veggies in dishes. This was at the Sycamore location. Hopefully theyβll start to wear hairnets or a head covering of some sort.
SHOULD DEFINITELY WEAR HAIRNETS
The food is so authentic. It made me remember my trip to Bangkok. The servings are a bit small but the taste justifies it along with how heavy the food is when you start eating already. The server/cashier was also very kind. He says he gives free crab rangoon from time to time. Will definitely buy food from here again.
Good taste, good and fast service
I finally went here to order pad thai. Was a total disappointment. Not only the the noodle is overcooked and soggy they put too much sauce and it's a lil too salty for my taste. I thought i found an authentic pad thai in my area that will have same taste like thai siri from streamwood. Well, i guess im gonna have a long trip to streamwood just to buy pad thai.
Pad thai portion is getting alot smaller than before, and soggy. For $11 pad thai but a size of kids meal. Definitely over priced for the portion.
Nice place for a take out food they also have a couple of tables where you can eat in. Service is fast, food is delicious and the owner is friendly!
Weve been going to Thai Town for over a decade now and have been very pleased with the quality and taste of the dishes.
We recently visited their newest location for takeout and grabbed a few dishes. I got the Szechuan chicken, which I've never had there before, and it was quite phenomenal. Possibly one of, if not my favorite Asian dish around. Very, very pleased and highly recommended.
Seems they are getting even better than before.
Itβs overpriced. I ordered Crab Rangoons and they were small. Instead of it having imitation crab with cream cheese, they have grated carrots in it. Their Spicy Mongolian is watery, mostly veggies in it and a little bit of meat. They charge 12.95 for that and itβs only good for one person. The staff were really nice though. I dont usually write reviews but they are not worth the price.
I regularly order from here through uber eats. We love the Ground Chicken Basil it is so flavorful and spicy. Pad Thai w Shrimp delicious. The wonton soup is very nicely done. Shrimp Cigars are a yummy appetizer. Love cucumber salad sweet and refreshing. Hondeydew smoothies and mango with Sticky rice is so yummy. Must try everything!
The Thai fried beef fried rice taste good. The seasoning on it brings out the natural flavors.
Services is always super fast and friendly. Love this place so much!π
yummy!
Nice people great food
We ordered food for pick up. Restaurant itself is tiny, and adorable. Our order was admittedly complicated, as we have to work around several food allergies. There was a mixup in two dishes, one was to be GF with tofu, the other regular with pork. The proteins were swapped from the order (we received GF pork and full gluten tofu) Luckily we figured that out before anyone took a bite, and no harm was done. Despite the mixup, the food was delicious, and it's nice to support a small local business.
We loved our food from here! Everything we ordered was excellent. I wish I had found this place sooner!!
Worst food I have ever ordered. $80 worth of garbage.
Great food & hospitality. I had the green curry and it came with rice.
There food is amazing! Staff is really nice would recommend!
I think they are very friendly and the food is good. It is somewhat pricey for the portion size. Overall a good experience.
Hands-Down best Thai in the area... I think about their Chicken Pad Thai every day ughhhhh so good
Small portions for the price. Pad Thai was okay, not the best. Iβve been to other Pad Thai restaurants with reasonable prices and better portions.
I really liked this place but everytime I order the portions become so small and that includes the containers. I don't know if I'll order again for the price they charge.
Their food taste is decent. Iβm usually disappointed by their portion sizes for the price - I consider their menu a bit pricey. Super friendly staff though.
Friendly people, excellent Panag Noodles. Will return.
The atmosphere is adorable!!! Food is incredible
Too expensive!!!
Not even close to fresh. Terrible. Chicken tasted like it was frozen for a year, then microwaved - then served with rice and splashed with some frozen vegetable broth goo. Will not be back very very disappointed. No passion in their food and they donβt seem to care about quality.
Do not waste your time! I ordered the chicken pad thai lunch special and the portions are small. There was hardly any chicken in it. I never received my soup. I will not be back!
Best in the area!
Awesome food but it's a hole in the wall... Food is authentic
Food is underwhelming for the price. Ordered Penang curry and Masaman curry. Both were watered down with no taste. Disappointed. Not going back again.
It was a delicious experience. I wanted to eat Thai food after going to an escape room 5 mins from on there and this gem popped up. I had the sesame chicken with rice. Delicious and straight out of the kitchen.
Food was ok but for 21$ not what I expected definitely it was rushed, it tasted rush and portions where more like a 8 dollar meal.
Pricey for what you get.
Ordered a "spicy" dish, but it had NO heat.
The hot sauce he gave me was watery ! (come on, it's just chili paste, why do you water it down??)
This was a to-go lunch order. No utensils with which to eat it were in the bag.
I won't be back.
The food was very tasty & friendly staff but very expensive with very small portions. I dont mind expensive if there is value for the money. My chicken vegetable dish had very little chicken & a lot of sauce, and the egg rolls had very little filling. Was sad as I love Thai food & its hard to find a good Thai restaurant - it was my first visit.
This is one of our favorite local place. All the dishes we've tried have been really good and we both go crazy for the melon bubble tea. π
Very expensive and too small of portions
Very good food and good service, curry noodles and pad thai were amazing. New favorite Thai place.
Food not tasty. Expensive food for the LITTLE amount you get.
Very delicious Pad Thai
If you love Thai food and a family restaurant atmosphere, you will love Thai Town.
I can't understand all these good reviews. This was the worst Thai I have EVER eaten. Waste of $100 meal. Don't do it. Wow. So disappointed.
Excellent quality of food. All the flavors are there, and easy to order from. Only downfall is that the portion size is kind of small. Seems like it's made for 1 person per order. And a little pricey too for the items. But overall would recommend
Took long to arrive, almost 2 hours! And not what I expected it.
Good food...
It has the most authentic Thai food since I left Thailand
First time customers, we ordered pick up. Portions small and overpriced, food mediocre. Customer before me not wearing mask, person at check out has mask under her chin, person in the kitchen not wearing mask.
My fave Thai restaurant in the area. Love the pad Thai, appetizers, and bubble tea.
Always pleasant service and delicious food everytime
Ok. Everything we got was really yummy. The ONLY THING that was disappointing, was the calamari. The breading is soooo thick and chewy. Ours was not super hot so that may have made the consistency worse, but we also barely had any calamari in it. It was literally just really chewy dough. Every thing else was delicious otherwise.
I never review restaurants but I felt I had to warn new restaurant seekers. Our family decided to try a new type of food so we gave Thai food a try. This was our first time and our last time ordering from Thai Town. The portions are small and over priced. I was overcharged for items ordered, also they ask if you want to tip for carry out. We are in search for new Thai restaurant to try this type cuisine.
Service is usually good. We enjoy the lunch specials with a nice variety to choose from and have reasonable prices. Food is good and crab rangoon is the best with a delicious sauce. take it to go today.
Excellent food, not a dine in place. A little slow but the quality is worth it.
I love this place! Food is amazing and I have been to many Thai restaurants.

Delicious pat thia
LOVE Thai town. Food is amazing, service is awesome. Hard working, super friendly women making great fresh food, portions are fair, prices are fair, and we even got a free appetizer for New Years totally unbeknownst to us until we got home!
Ordered Pad See Eiw for delivery and it the noodles were stale, hard, and barely chewable. The dish looked old as if It had been sitting out too long.
Yum!
Very expensive. Decent quality.
Great food and customer service from crew and management
Amazing food
The overall look of the place was dirty. The bubble tea was poor in flavor and consistency. The pad thai was just ok in flavor and the portions were mediocre.
The food was delicious! Don't let the small space fool you!! I will definitely go back!π
This is a tough 5 stars to give, because the prices are so high for the little amount of food you get. However we love buying the Schezuan Chicken then going to Chan's Garden and basically using the Schezuan sauce for Chan's Garden lol.
The food taste you literally cannot beat. I would venture to guess anyone rating this place lower than a 5 is because of the food portions. If your looking for a typical large portion low quality food/reheatable leftovers this is NOT the restaurant for you.
I'm what you would consider fat, so I honestly don't like going here, because I love gigantic portions, but my wife absolutely loves the place and is tiny. It's truly what your after, but I can't see myself not rating this place a 5 due to the taste. It really should be in a fancy upscale place like NYC or downtown Chicago.
best Mongolian beef I have found anywhere
Absolutely delicious! It's a small place with a few seats but the food is outstanding. Staff is friendly.
Flavor was good in the green curry. But I paid the $2 extra for shrimp with the chicken. Only to find one shrimp. Not enough rice to curry ratio. Crab Rangoon was soggy and barely fried. Not great.
My favorite Thai
I've ordered takeout here a couple times and their food is amazing, hands down my favourite Thai place in the area. I've always had leftovers when eating a meal, and it's still just as yummy the second day. They don't give silverware, which is something to be aware of, but I'm a fan because it means less waste. Overall A+, would recommend.
No utensils or condiments for any of the delivered food. Also missing items.
I absolutely love the food!!! Best Thai restaurant I've ate at. It's a bit costly but well worth it!!! The owner is also the nicest lady(owner) I've probably ever met!!!!

Unprofessional, unorganized
Extremely small portions πππ
I have had Thai food at many different places but this one was the worst. I regret paying $50 for this food.
Carry out only. The portions were smaller than what I was expecting and the quality was decent. The staff was super friendly and promt.
Good food, but high prices for small portions. Otherwise a 4.5
Good asian food, above average. Open that wallet wide though, you will pay large for small portions. Way overpriced. Can't justify visiting again unfortunately.
Small portions, crab ragoons a joke, very small, egg rolls looked like frozen quality. No hot mustard & watered down sweet & sour sauce. Ordered fried rice with shrimp and cashews, got only four shrimp and waterchestnuts instead of cashews. No fortune cookies. When called the lady did not speak English. Very expensive dinner $60
00. Still was hungry after I ate their small portions!!! Their menu went in the trash!!!!!
I've eaten at thai town multiple time, and I'm always satisfied by the service, and food. There spice levels are on point with what I request, and highly recommend eating at thai town.
Great food and service
Would give more stars. The food is great, it's too pricey and portions are way to small dont count of left overs
Amazing place, great family run buisness and the food is amazing and service is good. 10/10
Great food service was lacking I would suggest trying take out
Delicious, homemade food and very friendly!
Placed an order and it took over an hour and a half to delivered. Once the order arrived, there was an entree missing. Called to inform them and they said it would take an additional 30 minutes to arrive. This place is not worth the time or the money with service like that.
We had a variety of Thai dishes for Father's day and everyone was delicious.
I was very sad to see Wah Yee close down....
I am very Happy to see a great place with new great food and very nice people move into this location.
I order out from here a lot. Use ubereats for fast and easy delivery. Everything always tastes delicious. Love it
Love the Thai food here!
It wasn't obvious when I checked this place out, but it is really not a place to sit down and eat. They have three tables, most people just get take out. This isn't a huge deal, as they were nice enough to scrounge up some dishes for us. What really gave this place a 3 star review in my opinion was two dishes: the first being their Tom Kha Gai, which was way too spicy compared to the dozens of other places I've had it, and the lack of lemongrass, which really changed the taste. My favorite dish was botched. Then they didn't have mango for one of their desserts. Besides that, the rest of their food was great. The curry and Pad Thai was delicious, and it really was pretty good.
amazing food def going back
Always fresh, hot and the best Crab Rangoon ever! They are so friendly here. It is truly a family business. Calico the owner is super nice
I go here once every week or two. The food is great and the service is also great and fast. I love it.
Way too much sauce. I ordered the beef pad Thai. Small portion, OK flavor. Quick service clean location.
Great Thai food. Small family run business.
First time trying Thai food, and I am impressed. We decided to try something new, and this restaurant did not disappoint! The entire process from calling in our order, to picking up our order went flawlessly, and the staff was very nice and helpful. The food was incredible, I have already recommended this place to others. We will definitely be back again!
Crab rangoons were horrible panang curry was watered down
This family has been providing the best Thai food to the Elgin/South Elgin community for years.
Tonight I got Chicken and Rice soup for my sick husband and the Satay for me. Very good food.
Miss Channel works the phone and register, she is a responsible young girl and very hard working.
Give Thai Town to go a try, you won't be disappointed.
Love their food. Consistently good every time. Ground Chicken Basil my favorite.
First time customer. Easily the best Thai food in the area. Good value and great flavor.
This is a very small hidden place, but you have to try it. Awesome food!!! Went to Las Vargas ate at a Zagat rated thia restaurant and believe it or not this place blew it out of the water.
Very family oriented business. I have know the owners for 5 years and they are always nice and the food is great!
Just went tonight for the first time, super friendly staff and food was awesome!!
Awesome Pad See Eiw, ok Pad Thai, good Thai Tea except for the Sox cup it came in. We're Cub fans.
Love the food. My favorite go to place for comfort food. We have been following them to every location so I am glad to see they are still local. Must support food places with great food and service!!!
They had the BEST crab rangoons! I am sad they moved as the place they are in is dingy now and you can only get takeout
Food is delicious, portions are generous, and price is reasonable.
Wonderful, flavorful and healthy food!
This is the best Thai food I've found since moving to Elgin from the city. Reason for 4 stars instead of 5: I wish they'd re-think their $6 delivery charge for Elgin residents and do something based on actual distance. My house is on the border of Elgin/S. Elgin and is a lot closer to the location than other houses within S. Elgin. I'm not sure if this is something they kept in place since their location change, but they should consider what their move did to the distance from certain Elgin subdivisions.
The best Thai around here. Sorry the moved from a high traffic area to a smaller place but I found there new location and will order many times .
The food is fresh and authentic. And fair priceing to boot. Staff is super helpful
Good variety of lunch specials and sides (try the Rangoon). Lunch specials are reasonably priced and include a soup and appetizer of the day. Looking forward to trying more of their options!
Amazing food, always fresh and consistent.
Highly recommend it.
Delicious, fresh and authentic Thai food, very reasonably priced, friendly and helpful staff,
Highly recommended!
Probably my favorite local thai restaurant. Definitely my favorite thai iced coffee ever.
Delicious curries. I only wish they still had a large sit down area. They only have 2 eat in tables now. But so glad they are still around.
Best Thai food in the Elgin area. The family who runs it are fantastic nice people. We always treat family visiting from out of town to take out here and they request it every time the visit now. Thank you!
Love this place!
Family run restaurant- good lunch specials. Exceptionally sweet people, and the food is excellent. Reasonable prices, although dinner is a pricier compared to the lunch deals, which are some of the best options in the area. These people work hard to make their business succeed- carving carrots at night to use as garnishes the next day. They've moved around a lot, and their last location wasn't the best, but the place is clean, the decor cozy, the atmosphere laid back, and the food delicious. I've been patronizing them for years, and hope they can find the right model to succeed. Really a gem for the area, in my opinion. The only bad experiences I've had have been service from new employees. Normally if the proprietor is around- and she usually is- you get exceptional service and the most welcoming and gracious treatment. So glad they opened again after changing leases. The nightclub thing just wasn't working for them, but they know how to make a delicious Thai dining experience.
I love this place! Amazing food and great service. The owners also really care and go out of their way to make your experience wonderful.

If 6 stars was possible, that still wouldn't be a just rating. This place is top notch. Every time my partner and I go there, the service is fast and friendly, and the food is PHENOMENAL. Definitely the best thai food I've EVER HAD.
I really don't like the fact that they operate inside of a night club (X Factor). The food is good, but I preferred their old location a few doors down. The food is good, but the location is awful.
