We went on a Sunday early afternoon and as soon as we walked in, we were greeted very amicably by one of the hostesses. We were seated by the floor to ceilings windows; and the lighting and the rather calm and relaxing ambience were inimitable!

We loved our food it was palatable! First we started with the Thai Ice tea, something I’ve never had. It was different, but I quickly acquired the taste. Our starters were the Egg rolls which came in an order of 2, they are vegetarian and big! (Hey, I’m not complaining 😉). By far the BEST egg rolls I’ve ever had!! I highly recommend. Little greasy, but delicious! We also had a house salad side and the ginger dressing was surprisingly good, I’m picky and it settled well with me.
Our meals were the Orange chicken and the Tofu Pad See Eww. We were beyond pleased with the flavor, the freshness of vegetables and the presentation of our dishes.

Service was great, our server was friendly, kind, patient and helpful when it came to explaining menu items.

The restaurant was clean, and we even saw small private booth area where people can dine in and have to take off their shoes.

When it was time to leave, our server thanked us and an older gentleman came out by the bar and also thanked us and said goodbye as he bowed his head. We were truly humbled by this.

The restaurant is located in a private plaza area so the parking lot is huge. You won’t have issues with parking and it’s handicapped accessible.

Overall it was a great experience and I highly recommend Thai Hut if you want to have a great dining experience. Thai Hut, you have our Patronage! I truly can’t wait to go back and try new items on the menu! ❤️🙌

Menu has all the Thai dishes you hope to find from different curries to noodles and stir fry. Perfect for those trying Thai food for the first time or those wanting to branch out from Pad Thai. Spice levels are on a scale from 1-5 with 5 being the spiciest. You can let your server know what level spice you want. I’m a sucker for Thai Iced Tea and there’s is spot on. Thai Hut is definitely worth a try or two.

The gentleman that helped us was so sweet and accommodating. The food was ready fast and it was hot and all correct. Portion sizes were enough for 2-3 meals. It was well worth the money.

When you walk in, the aroma of the restaurant lets you know that the food will be good. We ordered takeout, and they ask you how spicy you want it, on a 1-5 star scale. The curries were very flavorful. I was disappointed because I ordered my Panang 5* hot, which is advertised as only for “addicts, masochists, and Thai Nationals.” The curry, while good tasting, was nowhere near as spicy as I expected. I finished the meal without breaking a sweat.

I got the chicken satay and yellow curry with a spice level of 9. I probably should have gotten it hotter, but this was a good level to enjoy the food. The curry was sweet and had a good kick.

I LOVE it here! The best place to have Pad Thai in all of Rockford! They have a special homemade spicy sauce made in-house for dine-in that REALLY packs the hotness! Their Drunken Noodles are also one of my favorites! They are so nice and still let me order from the lunch menu even though I got there at like 2:50. Good prices too, definitely recommend!

I fell in love with this place a few months ago and have been a loyal customer ever since. My favorite go-to place for delicious, flavorful comfort food. My absolute favorite item on the menu is the pork drunken noodle - I could eat a bucket of this stuff. Staff is always super friendly and helpful. A Rockford gem!

Great food. Wish they wouldn't sit everyone in the same section when they aren't busy. Couldn't have a conversation due to a family with children.

Inauthentic Thai. Chicken satay was okay but the cucumber salad was literally cut up cucumber slices sitting in a soup of syrup. Gross. Laab gai was clumpy due to excessive cornstarch and could have used more flavors.

Wonderful place to get Thai food~ the menu has many options and my husband and I enjoyed our meals. I had the green curry with tofu and it was very flavorful with an option to pick which spice level I wanted. My husband had the sweet and sour chicken (which he said was the best he ever had) and we shared a plate of wontons as an appetizer. Service was friendly and quick; we’re looking forward to returning soon!

My favorite place to order carry out in Rockford! The food is very spicy so I always order it as "less spicy". Yes, I'm White, but I do feel like I usually can handle some heat. Definitely recommend doing less spicy if you're not sure. The curries are tasty and the Thai iced tea is to die for. The staff are very nice and always have the orders done quickly. I love ordering here and supporting their business.

This might be the worst Thai food. The chicken was very dry, even in the soup (Tom Kha).
We also had the drunken noodles and I’ve never had such oily food before. Wasn’t edible.
Unfortunately we had to throw it all way.

Tonight my husband and I decided to order takeout from Thai Hut. I ordered fried rice and my husband got orange chicken. Half way through our meal I discovered a grasshopper in my rice just staring at me! Being 7 months pregnant, my morning sickness kicked in immediately! I felt so so sick and couldn’t stop dry heaving for about 10min. My husband was so disgusted he couldn’t finish the rest of his meal.

We called Thai hut and they offered either a refund or a remake of the dish. Obviously who trusts food from a restaurant after finding a whole grasshopper in your food!? We asked for a refund and the lady on the phone, who we believe is one of the owners, said she would refund the rice but not the chicken since there was nothing wrong with it! I couldn’t believe my ears. How could we trust that my husband’s dish, even though there were no visible grasshoppers in it, was even safe to eat!

We were refunded for my grasshopper rice but not my husband’s chicken. This is a shame because if a restaurant has a random grasshopper hopping into customer’s food, what does that say about the cleanliness of the kitchen? Needless to say, we won’t be back.

This was the best meal we've had in month. Best fried rice ever. Everything was so good we want to order from here every day. Spring rolls, pad thai and taro custard were exceptional.

In my opinion, Thai Hut is the best Asian food in town. Definitely, the best Thai food in town. Some of my favorite dishes are the garlic chicken, ginger chicken, and red curry. I like that they have various levels of spiciness, so that everyone can be at their comfort level. The service is always great and the atmosphere is nice.

Not sure you'd call this truly Thai food. Its more on the scale of "not so bad" Chinese food quality. Veggies over cooked, fried rice not quality nor that tasty, portion sizes were definitely small for the huge price, their chili sauce tastes like the green labeled sauce you get at the grocery store, the frozen tea was not frozen...at all.

Cucumbers in the cucumber salad were rubbery and not crisp.

It wasn't THAT great and it wasnt THAT bad. Not worth the drive nor the hefty price tag.

They lady was nice though. The search for that authentic fresh Thai food continues.

Absolutely delicious. Wonderfully friendly staff, simple menu, and perfect food. This place offers customized spice levels, so you can have the taste of a curry without the fire. I reccomend a level 3 Panang curry, just to die for!!

This place has the best red Thai curry in Rockford. I have had Pad Thai and a few other curries, everything is great. The spring rolls are also amazing. Some Thai places I have been to it does not seem like there is a difference from one level of spice to the next, but after ordering two times I have found the perfect level here. It is consistently the same and spicy enough to make me happy. The service is always prompt and friendly. The serving sizes are big enough that if I order for lunch I can save half for dinner. I love dining in and look forward to when they open the beautiful dining room again.

Food was excellent. They're only open for carryout these days but that's no reason not to include this delicious food in your takeout regimen. I try something different every time I come here and have not been disappointed yet.

The food is tasty, and they are very vegan-friendly. However, I have very clearly ordered gluten free the last two times I've ordered, it has been specified gluten free, and yet I have had reactions consistent with consumption of gluten (given my gluten intolerance).

There was also an instance where I found a bug in my food. I was given a refund, but overall, just too many issues to go back.

Their food is always consistent (nearly 20 year customer), always fantastic. Very nice people. Thai Hut is one of my family's favorite places.

The food I normally get from there is delicious, but this time it just seemed like they were rushed or something when making my order. The vegetables were dry and tasted like they had been steamed instead of stir fried, tasted nothing like what I normally order and when I called to ask about the issue, they basically told me that I must just be blind or something cus I simply stated the food was dry, and they told me there was sauce in it . Lmao. So if you want to eat here , just know it’s no refunds and they won’t fix it if it’s wrong.

Staying in Rockford for a couple of days and I was craving Thai food so I came to google and found this gem of a place. The reviews don’t lie. This place is amazing. 10/10 I ordered take out and the food was just as fresh and warm as I’d imagine inside. Do your self a favor and get the pad Thai and the soup 10/10 I’m definitely going back before I leave

Favorite Thai place in Rockford

Grabbed food here just yesterday. I'm from out of town and have never eaten at a Thai Hut restaurant. I ordered Chicken Cashew spicy level 3. This was honestly the most flavorful meal I have ever eaten. The cashews tasted as if they were soaked in sauce, the veggies and chicken were so plentiful and large. I loved that they added pineapple to the dish.

The man who we talked to was the sweetest as well.

Great experience. Will definitely order from here anytime I am passing through.

I received take out from Thai Hut on Sandy Hallow Rd. First off the staff is always very nice. The restaurant is always very clean. Usually I get lunch from this location but this time I got dinner for the family. We all got something different. Our entire order was correct (as usual). Its hard to call take out phenomenal, but it was. We ordered everything with #3 spice. I would highly recommend Thai Hut. The consensus at work is the Sandy Hallow location is the better location.

Amongst other things we ordered 2 orders of soup. First one came just before the food, second one came when we were nearly done with the food. They started clearing the table while we were still seated. (and I mean a full clearing, not just taking one or two empty plates away) Sure, we had paid the check, but we're still sitting and finishing up our discussion.
