Tin Drum Asian Kitchen & Boba Tea Bar is your go-to Pan-Asian restauran offering Chinese, Thai, Japanese, Indian, and Korean cuisine.
A love letter in dining: I wont be able to fully describe how life changing this restaurant is, but I’ll do my best. Tin Drum has a special place in heaven and my heart. Over the past two months, I have spent close to $250 on Tin Drum. The food is the BEST Asian I have had in Atlanta in two years. Hands down. The ramen with pork belly, Singaporean curry noodles, and most of all, Chinese-Mongolian stir fry with pork belly and mushrooms are incredible. With the brown sugar milk tea, Thai tea, or pineapple peach tea, it physically hurts me when I go a week without eating their food. Don’t be afraid to try their fried chicken sandwich and crinkle fries — better than any burger and fries I’ve had in a long, long time. Been hooked since the first time. Can’t describe how good the food is, only my photo album filled with Tin Drum can. The service is so fast, employees so nice, restaurant so clean, and energy both peace and alive. With only $10-15 per bowl, it is one of the cheapest options for good quality food out here. As a food loving Tech student, I’ve been to all Tech Square restaurants, but none of them compares to Tin Drum. Tin Drum isn’t just a restaurant— it’s a way of life. It’s my safe haven. It’s my home.
Great restaurant if you have a bit of time. Ordering was pretty quick because you use tablets. I appreciate that the water refill is accessible to anyone instead of having to ask someone to refill it every time like other restaurants. Our food came out relatively quickly. I got lo mein with chicken. The chicken was very good and the sauce was as well. For the price point, it has very good food.
This Tin Drum location is one of the worst locations that I’ve been to. I normally go to the Tin Drum in Sandy Springs, but today I decided to stop at this location. First, when coming in the waiter wasn’t very friendly, however I continued to placed my order for the “Blazing Angus Steak”. When I got my food every thing was cold. My rice tasted extremely old and was hard, my broccoli & peppers was not steamed (like they normally come) and my steak.. tasted like it had been sitting up for days. I could hardly chew it stand to chew it. Please fix the quality of food and service at this location. Extremely disappointed bc I love Tin Drum but this location SUCKS!
We had never eaten there. As you walk in there were some tablets and no cashier. The ladies behind the register saw us standing in line and didn’t bother to tend to us for 10 minutes. She then explained that they do not have cashiers and that you order on the tablet. That would have been helpful to know. The food and drinks were delicious I wish they had one in my town. The service was not good but I think once you know how to order and that the “waitresses” are motivated there to assist then you will be ok. We did not wait long for the food. The drinks with some sort of bubbles were exceptional!!
Stephanie was amazing. I walked into Tin Drum for the first time and I was unsure of what to order. She took her time with me and I was pleased. She even allowed me to try all of the different boba flavors. I will be coming again. The food was great. Stephanie is a very pleasant and polite young woman. I will be coming again.
I love Tin Drum! The food comes out quick and is consistently great every time. They helped my club organize a fundraiser and were so great to work with. Definitely recommend.
Tin Drum had amazing food and great service. I really enjoyed my Veggie Delight Stir Fry! I barely had to wait and really enjoyed the vibes inside.
If your favorite song is Kill Bill by SZA, you need to visit Tin Drum. They play it every time I come here without fail LOL. I think their restaurant playlist has 20 songs max😭. I come to Tin Drum pretty often though and I love it! It’s my favorite restaurant within Tech Square. Their ramen eggs are kind of inconsistent, but apart from that, the food is good! My favorite boba here is the brown sugar pearl milk with blueberry poppers (I do this with less sugar & almond milk and it’s so yummy) and I really like the China Town Lo Mein with tofu. The picture in this review is the Bangin Miso Ramen- also really good!
very quick and always delicious!
I love Tin Drum! The food comes out quick and is consistently great every time. They helped my club organize a fundraiser and were so great to work with. Definitely recommend.
food was great and quick service for both mobile and in store orders
delicious food, quick and convenient especially for students
Awesome restaurant. The staff is amazing and the food is even better.

Tin Drum had amazing food and great service. I really enjoyed my Veggie Delight Stir Fry! I barely had to wait and really enjoyed the vibes inside.
Super yummy food always hits and service is wonderful, everyone is always so friendly
Thank you Claudia for exceeding my expectations. What a great customer experience.
super friendly staff and food tastes great, also they accept dining dollars which is fabulous in tech square
I love the warm and flavorful food! I'm vegetarian and I have a good amount of options.
Great place for GT students to grab a bite and hangout. And the boba is yummy!
I love this Tin Drum! Always quick service and the food never disappoints! One of my favorite spots in Tech Square!
Great experience and delish food!
This is a great choice by Georgia Tech! I love the firecracker cauliflower tempura, it's the best
I ate here and I like the food. The tea is really good

Love their Thai tea!! It’s sooo good 🧋
Food is mid but they support their local community!
Went last Friday to support my friend for her fundraiser...I will be going back! Amazing asian food with great vegetarian options. The tofu was cooked perfect and the firecraker cauliflower was delicious. Went once and will be going back. 10/10
Great service and always great boba. Love from Gt Ewb!
I LOVE THIS PLACE !!!
THE STAFF THERE IS AMAZING!!! Their panang curry is a must have
I love their boba and food. The servers are very nice and overall easy process to order!
Really cool place, would recommend for other campus goers!
Amazing experience! Love to eat there after class!
Food was okay, boba was the worst I've ever had. They gave my husband the wrong order and did nothing to correct it.
We waited for 15 min in line to place the order and been told that food can only be ordered with the cashier rather than the self kiosk. And asked us to re enter the line again….if your self order machine is closed why no one indicates that??? Waste too much our time and it is completely not reasonable to ask us re enter the line again!!!!! Very bad service.
I waited an hour to get my food
Claudia and Skylar are exceptional employees
Of the few things I’ve ordered the food was good but the last 2 times I’ve gotten food delivery they didn’t give me the drink I ordered and tonight they only gave me 1 of the 2 drinks ordered. I called multiple times only to have no one pick up and the phone hang up on me. Service is zero stars.
Amazing food and service . Not very expensive. Everything is good. It was my first time and I'm impressed.
Oh no restrooms. FYI.

Love this place! Great food and reasonably priced

I love the food and the service here. The pad thai is great. Yummy yummy in my tummy!
Went for the MCN review and was great!
I came to the MCN fundraiser. The boba was good!
I went to a MCN fundraiser here and liked the boba.

Great place and food. I came here for the MCN fundraiser.
I came for the MCN fundraiser! It was great
Held a fundraiser here for MCN and it was great that they were able to help our organization for Poverty Alleviation! The food came out fast and was great!
I like the boba, thai curries, and wings
Came here for MCN fundraiser - great food and great cause!
Got the curry here, it was super good. Food came out hot and fast. I came here MCN fundraising night.
Would be better if it didn't have a confusing touchscreen ordering system. How about a virtual human to take orders via speech? It would work 10x faster than a touchscreen.
It was a great experience.
love the food and the boba!!
Love their boba so much! The food also tastes amazing, and I’d recommend their chicken lettuce wraps.
Affordable and delicious food. One of the food options in Tech Square for college students
Very helpful in partnering with student and nonprofit events!
firecracker cauliflower and boba were sooo good! staff is also super nice
great food! service was also quick.
loved the firecracker cauliflower!
great experience at tindrum! staff was friendly and service was great :)
Service was fast, and they were very accommodating when I switched from dine-in to take-out.
Tindrum at Georgia Tech is a great place to get good food during the week, with a really chill atmosphere and fast service which is good between classes. The food is always tasty, and staff is also very friendly. Highly recommend!
We collaborated with Tindrum for a percentage day with Hindu Yuva and they were so cooperative and kind in helping our organization raise funds for our fundraiser! We are very grateful for this opportunity and staff for the support.
I had a great time eating at Tin Drum. They have wonderful options, even for vegetarians. They also have nice boba.
Amazing food. They have amazing boba flavors. The lettuce wrap and panang curry is great. I loved the food.
I loved the food and the restaurant setup was great! I would definitely recommend the fried rice, and the boba is good too!
Absolutely amazing experience there! A must have for any college student in ATL!!
Def one of the best restaurants I’ve been to the vibe was great! The food was really good as well and drinks are def a hit
I always get the brown sugar boba here and i love it! They give a large quantity and it is made within 5 minutes of me ordering.
Food was super yummy and the restaurant was really cute inside! I ordered the the firecracker ribs and they so tender, I highly recommend! :)
Delectable food and extremely friendly service. A must visit!
I really liked the food and the service overall.
I loved eating here last Friday! The food was absolutely amazing and Tin Drum is the perfect place to get a yummy meal as it’s so close to Tech’s campus. Best dining experience of my life🤩
I absolutely love eating here. The food is amazing. The staff is friendly. The service is fast and efficient.
I must express my profound disappointment with the food today. After enduring a day fraught with relentless challenges and taxing endeavors, I sought solace in the prospect of enjoying a meal that would, at the very least, provide some semblance of comfort and satisfaction. With this hope in mind, I resolved to treat myself to some indulgent fare from Tin Drum, believing it to be a well-deserved reward for my efforts. I embarked on a wearying 1-mile journey across campus, my anticipation growing with each step.
Upon finally reaching my destination, I eagerly purchased a Boba Taro drink, complete with boba and ice cream—at least, that was my intention. Yet, to my dismay, the drink I received was a woeful misrepresentation of what I had ordered. The toppings I had specifically requested were glaringly absent, and the Taro drink itself was a tasteless, insipid concoction. It possessed not even the faintest hint of sweetness and slid down my throat with the dull, unremarkable viscosity and flavor of tap water.
As if this disappointment weren't enough, the Mongolian stir fry I had ordered was nothing short of abysmal. The chicken and beef were shockingly dry and utterly devoid of flavor, offering only an unpleasant and unsettling combination of sourness and sweetness that left a foul taste in my mouth—undoubtedly the worst I have encountered this year. The rice, too, was a dismal failure, undercooked and barely edible, a clear indication of the careless preparation that had gone into this meal.
To describe this as "take-out food" would be an undeserved compliment. What I received was an unmitigated disaster, a culinary catastrophe that left me feeling utterly betrayed and unsatisfied. This was not just a meal gone wrong—it was a egregiously grievous affront to the very concept of dining.
Great service!
the owner is very nice
Ms. Sylvia was so sweet and the food was good as well :)
Come and see Mrs. Stephanie Mon-Fri she is the best and really knows her customers never a bad moment when she is there
Every time I come Mrs.Stephanie always takes care of me and knows if my Order is available when I stop by! Come by and see her Mon- Fri!
I’ve been coming here throughout my whole college career and I absolutely love it! It’s affordable, great quality food with the friendliest staff on the planet! Whenever my boyfriend and I come, whether it’s for the great boba or to sit down and eat, the staff recognizes us and always asks how we’re doing. If you’re in the area of Georgia Tech and need a homey and delicious meal look no further. Highly recommend!
The manager Sylvia is extremely nice. It was my first time at the restaurant. She was extremely helpful and ensured they i ordered my food correctly. The food came out extremely fast.
Working at GT, Tin Drum has become one of my staples. While I enjoy my Phuket Chicken, I would also like to give special praise to Stephanie who is typically the server/hostess/bagger when I visit. Her attitude and personality are always friendly and inviting. She's typically going 90mph, trying to make sure everything is as it should be while still being genuine and engaging with the folks she's helping.
We used to have one of these in Augusta GA and it was good then and things have not changed. Good food and good specialty drinks.
So good!!!
The people here are really nice, and it's a great, easy staple for GT / Tech Squared. Sometimes they do get busy and you might be waiting, but that is just how rush hour works, overall it's a nice place and they have a lot of veggie choices. +1
giovanni was a excellent employee i came in very indecisive of what i want but he helped me pick and i enjoyed my meal. The store is also a very clean and friendly i will definitely be coming coming backing considering it was my first time great service
I know this is a chain-wide thing because it's not just here: Tin Drum is the most stingy restaurant I've ever seen when it comes to veggies and protein. If you're gonna charge upwards of +$1.50 for every add-on, I should get more than a tablespoon of that item. It happens every time I go, and I should really just let them teach me and not come back.
Great food for a great price
TIn Drum offers a wide variety of Asian flavors at a fair price. Rice, noodles and curry selections that are very tasty.
I have frequented this location at least two times in the past six months. I like the friendly employees and the quality of the food. I got sesame chicken and a matcha boba tea. Everything tasted really good. This location is always super clean and the wait is never long. I think I may have waited ten minutes for my order to be prepared. They have a rewards program that I signed up for and I like how easy it is to earn rewards. You can place orders online here, at the counter with an employee, or using a tablet at the counter inside. They also offer free water at the counter if you need it. I paid a little over $16.00 for my food and drink. That’s definitely comparable to the area. Parking at this location is non-existent. You can park in front, but it’s like playing roulette. There are many no parking signs posted, so park and run inside at your own risk.
This is probably the worst takeout i have ever received from a restaurant. This food is old, the chicken was incredibly rubbery and pale and i’m not sure if it’s water or sauce under the stale rice, but my boyfriend took a bite and immediately got acid reflux. it also smells rancid. i will not be reordering from tin drum, especially after having to trash both of these meals.
I decided to order Chinese dishes from this restaurant for lunch today. I ordered, for to-go, General Tso's chicken because it is one of my favorite Chinese dishes. I also wanted to try Chinese-style chicken, so I ordered and ate wok wings cooked with orange pepper and sweet & sour sauce, which are also my favorite Chinese sauces.
When I got home (less than 10 minutes) and opened the food I ordered, there was something but not General Tso's chicken that I had ever known in my life, but instead a dish cooked in pure white source. I was so curious that I searched for General Tso's cuisine on the Internet, and the conclusion was that the clean-sourced dish, which the restaurant names General Tso's and sold to me, was not General Tso's. It may be just one of Chinese fried dishes. The taste wasn't bad, but it made no sense and felt absurd.
The wok wings I ordered had a sweet & sour sauce that I know, but the orange peppers were some kind of powdered sauce, not the Chinese orange pepper sauce that I have tried countless times. The wings were chicken wings with an unusually high amount of fat attached to them, so if I chewed the part with too much fat, I couldn't eat it. This may be because I really don't like fatty parts of meat. But I couldn't hide the disappointment.
The price was understandable since it is located in midtown, but the taste was very disappointing for the price. It may be because my evaluation of the food was not generous, but these were foods that were too difficult to recommend to people who know and love Chinese foods well.
Maybe I had the dishes that this restaurant least recommend.
wow i ordered the milk tea and omg its the sweetest boba ive ever had in my life i even got it ‘less sweet’ yet the whole thing tastes like when u get a brown sugar boba and dont mix it and u accidentally drink the straight brown sugar syrup at the bottom. im really not exaggerating. their cauliflower was bomb tho!
Great food and customer service. Bring everyone you know
This place is my favorite asian fusion place at tech square! I always get the chicken pad thai and it’s sweet and tangy!! Definitely recommend this place!
Love coming to this place for a bite after class, food has great flavor
The food is so delicious and the customer service is even better - big thanks to the manager Mrs. Sylvia! My new favorite dish is the Singapore noodles - amazing!!
My student organization partnered with Tin Drum to help raise money and everyone there was extremely friendly and helpful! the food was delicious, and it was so good to work with fellow Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets! Tin Drum is an amazing restaurant and the leadership at this location is unparalleled!
Great service! The food is also amazing!
Food is great and service is even better!
The staff in the restaurant are very nice and there is good service overall. My friend and I always come here for lunch after class, which is very convenient for a quick place to eat.
Always a pleasant experience. Friendly and quick service. I love the mango spicys chicken
Silvia, Stephanie, and TK are so sweet! Amazing customer service!
Amazing , large portioned food , great ambiance
My favorite restaurant since I moved to Atlanta. The stir fries are amazing, I particularly like the sesame grilled chicken. The wings are also fantastic. The one thing I’d recommend is improving the mobile ordering experience - it is very difficult to tell when your food is ready when you ordered on the app. They don’t call out the names for mobile orders like they do for in store so I often find I need to check in on whether my food is ready which is challenging when they’re busy. The people in the restaurant are very nice and there is good service overall.
The food and the service is just so awesome! Love the thai mango basil fried rice!
The food and service were amazing
Great food and portion sizes! Management is amazing and loves helping contribute to the Georgia Tech community via fundraising events. Highly recommend checking out this spot!
Amazing food and service! I love their boba and panang curry dishes! I always make sure to stop by when I am in the area! I also organized a fundraiser event here for my student organization and the management here was super helpful in helping us reach our fundraiser goal by hosting a proceeds night! Highly recommend you check this place out!!
Bad location, unlike Tim Drum on Sidney Marcus. I order general tso’s chicken and the blazin steak. The steak was so-so but the General Tao’s chicken looked like a soup. I called the store and the manager said “it’s supposed to be like that” I understand not using a very heavy sauce, but it’s crazy that they intended a stir fry to look like soup. The chicken and vegetables were sitting in a broth like liquid. I don’t recommend
3/26/24 Update: Calling all Atlanta Foodies! 🍜🍱 Craving some seriously delicious flavors near Georgia Tech's (@georgiatech) campus? Tin Drum Kitchen on 5th St (88 5th St NW, Atlanta, GA 30308) just launched their brand new March menu, and it's a must-try!
I recently swung by and did a taste test extravaganza! 🎉 The Chinese Sticky Pork Ribs were fall-off-the-bone tender and smothered in a sweet and savory sauce (seriously addictive!). They came perfectly paired with a side of crisp-tender sautéed broccoli & peppers and a serving of their fluffy rice. The Japanese Teriyaki Fried Rice with salmon was bursting with savory-sweet teriyaki flavors, and the General Tso's Wok Wings delivered the perfect balance of sweet, savory, and spicy goodness.
Tin Drum's menu is your ticket to a global culinary adventure! 🌍 They've got a vast selection of dishes with bold flavors, plus the option to build-your-own stir-fry with endless possibilities. Their 1000° hot wok infuses everything with incredible flavor - living up to their motto, "A Thousand Degrees of Flavor," for sure! Litetally, these dishes are on fire!

Order the Bangkok Sweet Chili Curry. I asked for no peanuts. When I checked my order it looked correct, however upon eating I found bits of peanut pieces. I think the cook mistakenly added them in and did a lousy job removing them instead of remaking the dish.
Completely messed up my order and then the reorder. The staff told me to come back the next day for a refund and then the manager told me they might not be able to give me a refund because it was the day after. They made me wait for at least 15 minutes while they manager did got knows what and then another 15 while they did god knows what…. And then the kicker…. They couldn’t process it because they wipe their system daily. AND THEN couldn’t even give me a gift card for the credit it was going to be just a paper IOU.
I feel for the staff it’s got to be awful working a a place that is so disorganized and scammy.
I have been going to Tin Drum for years but this was my 1st time at the Ga Tech location. And never have I been given a chicken lettuce wrap that looked like or was made like this one (Buckhead & briarcliff is where I normally go). When I brought it to the managers attention she said, all locations prepare items differently. That confused me because I thought this was a franchise & that the business model idea behind a franchise is pretty “cooker cutter” which guarantees the quality level of the dishes. Since each location is supposed to be prepared the exact same… I guess 5th St just does their own thing.
The cooks just don't season the food. I ordered a dish with two scoops of the chili stuff and 4/5 times I order it, it is bland af. Just don't come here if you want a seasoned meal at this point.
Delicious food and great service! This is a local chain started by the nicest couple. So glad to have this yummy option right down the street!
The wings are tiny, the other dishes are consistent.
Been here regularly for the last 4 years, amazing food and boba, and servers have been friendly to me! Perfect place to get food before a late night study session!!
I have waited so long to find a place with really good non-dairy curry and this place hit the spot!! You won't be disappointed. Good prices for the amount of food we got and the food was still steaming when it got to us with Doordash. Will order again when in the area!
Great food and service!!
Great food and boba! The staff was so friendly and service was fast.
Love the food and boba here!
Tin Drum is a great place for GT students to grab something to eat! I especially love their boba tea
I love tin drum! The food is great.
I like the Thai Basil chicken and fried rice 👍
Honestly, this was one of the best experiences I’ve had at a food place in Atlanta. Having never been before, I decided to go because of the GT Jadoo promotion and I was pleasantly surprised. The customer service was exceptional - the staff were friendly and kind and my food came in a timely manner. The food itself, I have no complaints. It was amazing. The flavors were amazing and the portion size for the price paid is a steal. I definitely see myself coming back here my next 4 years at Tech.
I saw many comments that cashier and waitresses are rude, but by my experience the waitress who served me food was really sweet and very helpful
Food was okey! It does the job when you’re very hungry and want to grab a quick meal
food was amazing! definitely the place to go for some good food
Really yummy and convenient spot for a college student!! Definitely recommend, I really like their options and the boba is really good!
Love this Tin Drum! The service is excellent, and the food is AMAZING🫶🏽
Love the boba here!! Food comes so quick and is so good!
Fantastic food, fantastic service. Highly recommend for GT students and people living in the midtown area of Atlanta.
Food was so good and came out super fast. Loved the atmosphere and service!
Amazing food and great service! New favorite spot!!
Best food ever! So yum!
I loved the ambiance. Food was amazing
I have been to many Tin Drums, but this location is my favorite. There service is extremely fast and friendly. The day I went the place was really busy, but they were still efficient and treated every order with care. The food was also very fresh and delicious!
