The basil chicken dish was one of the best Thai experiences I've had yet. I have had it several times since this first time. The chicken pad thai was also very good. And as always the Thai iced tea is delicious.

All the food items we chose were delicious, loved the Thai Tea, and staff was very kind and attentive the entire time. The restaurant is not very big, so reservations would probably be best if you plan on going in a busy time of the day. They also rotate out ice cream flavors weekly, so take a walk and stop by for something sweet!

I came here based on an Oak Park group suggestion and I wish it had been better, but it was overpriced and the flavors just didn't work. We got a tom kha soup that tasted like coconut milk and canned chicken broth, almost no flavor, no lemongrass or lime, I had to put the spy from the potstickers in it to even eat it. We got a surprise for two and my stirfry was salty but that's about it. The main flavor was just salt and maybe a tiny bit of heat. The best dish we had was the drunken noodles but I've had much better. Even the coconut sticky rice was a let down.

Their food is so good! Very fresh vegetables and noodles. Good service. Appreciate their range of spice levels! Definitely the best Thai place in the west Chicago area!

Best food ever 😋

I had no idea this was up the street from me. Aroi Mahk! The ingredients are really fresh and no weird additives, just good fresh Thai seasonings and flavors. I tried the Tom Kha and it was rich and delicious, all the protein and vegetables perfectly tender. The spicy basil is phet nit noy (just kidding, it's phet mahk but aroi mahk!). Looking forward to making this a regular stop for dinner now I know it exists.

We ordered Fried Spring Rolls, Tom Yum, and Basil Stir Fry.

The spring rolls were factory made, thick soggy breading, and accompanied by lame jarred fish sauce.

The tom yum tasted like it was made with bouillon with pepper flakes thrown in. Not home made.

The Basil Stir Fry was OK, just OK.

Not going back.

I love this place, the owner is so cool and the food is phenomenal. I genuinely get sad when it’s closed for extended periods of time. The noodle dishes I have gotten have all been flavorful, packed with fresh herbs and vegetables, and the portions are good. It is a little bit pricer than competitors, but it is worth it. The soft serve is wonderful in the summer and the owner will make mango and sticky rice with enough demand 👍 Wish I had a picture, but I usually dig in before I remember the camera

This place is a gem! There was only one cook preparing all the take out orders and he was working so hard and with passion! The food was outstanding! Great portions, and authentic flavors.

Discovered this place this weekend and came back for seconds! This is going to be our go-to Thai restaurant. We got the drunken noodles, rama noodles, tom kha soup, and the panang curry. Everything tasted incredible. We are in the first time and did take out the second time. It was a little stuffy in the restaurant, could've done well to have some fans on. Service was great both times and we can't wait to go back.

Chef Champ comes up with the best flavor combos and is so nice! We love trying his new inventions—pineapple shrimp pad thai, Ube soft serve. Plus he went to Geneva HS where I lived as a kid and would’ve been in my class! He gave me pot stickers on the house while I waited for soft serve. Can’t recommend his food enough!

The owner, Champ, is brilliant in the kitchen, and a decade ago I loved dining in his restaurant, Thai Zie, in St. Charles.

I moved around the country and have yet to find Thai food that compares to what Champ cooks up in his kitchen.

Today I got to try out Thai Neighbor for the first time and was happy that some things never change.

The food was fantastic.

I took the whole family and everyone was happy; the 3, 5, and 8 year olds; as well as the adults.

We currently live in Georgia, the biggest ‘chicken state’ in the country, and my son, the chicken wing lover, told me the wings he had at Thai Neighbor are the best he’s ever had.

My girls loved the vegetable rolls, and the vegetables with rice.

I had the Pad Si Ew and it was cooked to perfection. My mother had the Pad Thai and my friend who ordered yellow curry said it was the best she’s ever had.

This restaurant is a GEM and I can’t wait to go back!

Me and my husband went here to have lunch today. We both had yellow curry he had beef and I had the vegetable vegan curry they both were so delicious and fresh. The staff here are so nice and friendly. I recommend you come here and have their food is great. Their chef is very gifted in all the food he makes

Oh, my gosh. RUN HERE if you haven’t tried them yet. Super friendly and generous service, and the food was absolutely delicious. They cost less than they should for the quality!!

The food is really good. The space is small so a huge group may not be ideal but if you are ok with ordering pickup and taking home you will be thoroughly satisfied. The portions are amazing also.

I've been to five other Thai places in the area since I moved here a year ago. This one is the best. By far. Exactly the sort of quality Thai place I was hoping to find in the Chicago area. I wouldn't go to any other place for Thai going forward. Try it; you'll see.

Decided to finally try this spot out - and the food was amazing. I was a little frustrated at first when I got home with my takeout - only to find there were no sauces in the bag. However, that should have been a sign, because this food inherently has flavor. No sauces are needed when a restaurant is on its game...and honestly, I forget that with so many average spots around. Our Tom kha kai, pad Thai, and the fried rice were all so fresh and flavorful - and needed no enhancement, whatsoever. We will definitely be back to try more. Kicking myself because I waited so long. Kudos to Champ and his team with this winner!

Everything on the menu is incredible. The owner and chef always welcomes guests warmly and checks in on how everything tastes. The pad Thai and his crab Rangoon is to die for! I cannot recommend this place enough!

I am a huge Thai food fan, and am no stranger to the many delicious Thai food restaurants in Oak Park. This restaurant is truly something special. Champ is constantly switching up the menu, trying out new things and encouraging his customers to do the same. That said, if you have a favorite item that no longer appears on the menu, he is happy to make it for you if he has the ingredients on hand. Going to Thai Neighbor feels like going to Champ’s place for dinner. His creativity is endless, and his food presentation can’t be beat. Highly recommend!

Based off what I ate I'd say the place is decent. I got the spicy eggplant entrée and asked for thai hot. It was more on the sweet end. They did add whole peppers and the bites I ate the pepper in were spicy. Would have been better to chop them up so I could have them in every bite. The eggplant must not have been ripe cause it was hard and I ended up just forcing myself to eat them.
What made me give three stars is that the banana springs rolls were delicious!

This place is a must try! The best Thai food in Oak Park, the pork adobo flatbread (as pictured) was one of the best bites I've had in a long time. It is as delicious as it is inventive. The drunken noodles were delicious and spicy. Bonus points to the owner who is incredibly nice. He made me feel very welcomed and even had cookies for each customer. I can't wait to go back!

A hidden gem in Oak Park! Thai Neighbor is run by the ever amazing Champ who churns out dishes bursting with flavor. Each part of our trip was crispy and delicious and served with two dipping sauces. Next we had the red curry which paired perfectly with the rice and was loaded with tofu and vegetables. Finally the house duck which was my favorite. Crispy, juicy, and doused in the garlic sauce that I couldn't resist. Highly recommend!

One of my favorite restaurants in town, as well as some of the best Thai food I've ever had.

Delicious, flavorful food, with generous portions to boot. I'm especially fond of their seafood offerings. Really wonderful addition to the neighborhood in this small, unassuming space.

Walked in for dinner, asked for a menu, the clerk handed it to us, we took a couple minutes to make a decision, we tell the clerk we're ready to order, the clerk says I'm sorry we just closed. Good luck surviving in this business with that type of service.

I love the red curry at Thai Neighbor, so fresh and delicious. They have an expansive menu, and even offer a "chef's choice" option to request that the chef cook up whatever is freshest and sounds good on a given day - great for indecisive diners like me. They're taking good covid precautions - ring a doorbell when you arrive and they bring your food right out to you.

Disappointed by flavor and oil use. We came in w high expectations given the reviews which you’ll notice are mostly 5s and 1s interestingly. Tried ordering at 6 pm Friday evening and was told the wait time, regardless of order, was 1 hr and 45 minutes and were advised to order prior to 5 pm for normal turnaround. I appreciated that for planning purposes & postponed until Saturday. Ordered Pad Thai (with tofu) which had unpleasantly strong fish sauce. It is not marked vegan perhaps bc it has eggs. The menu DOES NOT mention it has fish sauce (we called to verify) it does say it’s pad Thai sauce is made in house. It was overpowering and it dominated the flavor of the dish unfortunately. Out of 2 vegetarians and 2 non-vegetarians no one was able to consume over 1/2 of a cup. The spring rolls (vegetarian appetizer) and roti (side) were greasy and borderline unhealthy in comparison with what you might get elsewhere were The Pad See Ew with chicken was the only decent offering but slightly heavy on the oil. My recommendation would be to ask for ingredients and tell them what is for vegetarians. A vegetarian picked up the food and was put off by the lack of ventilation in the restaurant. Perhaps request less oil and no fish sauce. Overall not able to recommend this spot.

Very disappointed. The food was blah and greasy. One thing we ordered was "the mystery" for $13.95. It was overpriced pineapple fried rice that was on the menu for a dollar less. Felt very americanized, despite the reviews here that call it authentic. I'd pass on this one if I had to choose again.

Best Thai around. This is the 4th time my family has ordered since it’s grand opening a few weeks ago. We love all the options available, and most importantly, the quality of the food. All the ingredients are fresh and prepared to perfection, even the broccoli and shrimp, of which I am very picky.

You can choose rice or various noodles and add any protein to any dish. Everyone in my family loved their choices, even the surprise dish. My husband said the chicken dish he had was moist and tender. The appetizers were also incredible. We hope Thai Neighbor will continue to place importance on fresh, quality food and be our neighbor for a long time!!!

Our favorite new Thai place! Many vegetarian/vegan options, and very fresh ingredients. You can tell that they really care about what they are serving- everything tastes skillfully made and feels clean and fresh. The mango sticky rice with coconut ice cream is an especially nice treat!! We found out that the cook actually handmade the ice cream as well as all of the other sauces. Thank you Champ and Jordan!

Store was closed until after displayed opening time. Walked in and was told there were lunch specials. Could not find on menu. When I asked an employee to point them out, the employee could not find them. Owner began launching into a lecture about them being "drama free". Being "drama free" appears frequently on their menu as well.

I do not know how that pertains to food. I walked out. It should not be that difficult to order and if you say you're open at 1130, you should be open by that time.

I cannot eat Thai food anywhere else now because the food here is phenomenal ! I Could drink the sauces lol ! Also I work in Chicago and they have the best Thai iced tea I’ve ever had . the owner is fantastic and really takes pride in his food and the energy in the place .Also the price is right! If I could give more stars I would!!!! 10/10!!!!
