P Dern Thai Kitchen brings the taste of Thailand to Niles and Park Ridge. This restaurant offers authentic Thai cuisine in a welcoming atmosphere.
Authentic Thai food
If you want to eat Thai food like local people, I highly recommend this restaurant. It’s located in the food court inside Park to shop grocery store on Milwaukee Ave.
The restaurant offers variety food such as local northern food, noodles and etc.
We have been here so many times. We always try different noodle dishes but one of the most delicious noodle dishes is Boat noodles. We orders every single time!! Tom Yum noodle is also tasty. The portion is big and the price is reasonable.
I am glad that I came across this place. The location is inside the park to shop food court (formerly Assi). Maybe my picture didn't do it justice. The food is delicious, and I can tell the taste is authentic. I tried the chicken rice and pork bone soup. The soup is spicy, so be careful if you don't eat spicy food. But I love spicy, so it suited my taste buds. I will try a different menu item next time.
Updated: I tried another menu item from this place. The Tom Kha was one of the best I've ever had in the area. I also tried the basil chicken rice with a fried egg on top. I'll definitely be coming back again for sure.
Some of the best Thai food I've had in the US, simply incredible!!! The first bite of my Crispy Pork Belly with Basil brought me right back to the streets of Bangkok. The Corn Salad was done so perfectly with the right balance of sweet, sour, and umami. The Kao Kha Moo took the longest to get out but ended up being my favorite of the three dishes so they saved the best for last. The nice lady who took our order (maybe the owner) was so helpful and happy to serve us. Just a great experience all around. Please go support this wonderful business so they can continue to treat us to this amazing and authentic Thai cuisine.
I went in for the duck noodle but was told that they don't have it until next month. so I ordered Basil chicken with flat rice noodle (Fat noodle) and Pad Thai Beef instead, both had good flavor would recommend to give it a try.
Also got a papaya salad from the other reviewer's recommendation, I do eat spicy food regularly but the medium spicy is too spicy for me. possible because they put green hot pepper and green pole bean in the mix and I ate the hot pepper alone with everything else. Overall the flavor is good, would try it with mild spicy and hope they would also give rice at the side.
Service is great, she helps answer all my questions, great attitude, lettings me know I need to wait longer because there are other orders in front me. I love it when it is told ahead of time.
It is food court so hard for them to control the atmosphere, but I focus the atmosphere rating on their menu design. It is very hard to see and understand. the reason is how they display their menu. Aside from look at menu with your own phone, there are three large TV screens. Two are high up which need to look up close because the words are mixed in with all the food photos. I understand what they trying to do, having photo with the name of the dish is great idea, but when they fit everything on the TV screen makes everything become very small, along with the position of the TV, photo become useless because hard to see the details, and with all the colorful dishes, it became distraction when searching for the name of dishes. Hope it can be improved so it is easier and faster for the customers.
The best Thai restaurant we've had thus far. We ordered the Tom Yum shrimp fried rice, spicy pork with flat noodles, and pork hide sun. They were all delicious, flavorful, and actually spicy. We're definitely going back for sure to try all their menu dishes!
Nice authentic Thai food. Very tasty However, the online order system gave me a non-spicy option but when I got my food it was spicy.
Possibly the best Thai food in the area. Lots of great options on the menu. It is inside the Park to Shop, so get your grocery shopping done alongside a delicious meal.
I’d give this place O ⭐️, but it is not to hurt this business, instead to improve! First the tables were dirty!!!! We asked for a rag, it was stinky, then for paper towels to dry the table, we were told they didn’t have them, my husband said , how about napkins, she asked how many 😁 🙄
We placed our order, one dish came out, about 10 minutes the second one, I actually noticed it sitting on the counter. I got up to ask, this lady didn’t even apologized. Our drinks came out almost half way into the second dish.
The first dish was pepper stake, which had 6 pieces of sliced beef. The second dish was grilled pork with sweet and sour sauce, only the sauce was good, the pork, 90% of it was big chunks of fat.
We left dissatisfied and disappointed.

Excellent, authentic Thai food inside the Park to Shop market
Very delicious, a hidden gem found in a grocery store

I am originally from Thailand and have never had such authentic Thai food! Unbelievable if you like Thai food, you should come here
Foods are authentic and taste alright but too many variation. It takes forever. Their families and friends also cut in the line and created backlog.

Authentic thai food. อาหารอร่อยมากครับ รสชาติเหมือนเมืองไทยเลย
Best, most authentic thai food in the NW suburbs. They have dishes most local thai restaurants do not, like pork belly with basil, khao kha moo (braised pork shoulder), boat noodles, fried sun dried pork. Etc etc. This is a must eat
You want real thai food? This is the best out here literally what you see served mostly in Thailand restaurants or street food.
Amazing food, tons of options and super delicious nothern dishes! The people are very friendly too! Highly recommend!!!
Really happy they opened here! The Tom yum noodles are so good! I can’t wait to go back and try more things. Very flavorful and authentic taste.
