I called and spoke with Neen at the restaurant. They were immediately apologetic and offered to refund the order. They have an exterminator coming regularly but did admit it happens at times. I’m sharing only because if given the choice I would not want to risk having a bug in my food, for the health risks and trauma of having a bug in my meal, so sharing for others. But do appreciate them refunding immediately.

This is one of the most delicious Thai food restaurants I visited and I had visited many. We ordered the pekimao with beef and the of Thai with chicken. Everything was done very nicely with flavor and not over cooked. The drunken noodle was a little spicy but within my tolerance. They also add small appetizers such as egg rolls and fried tofu which makes the meal even more worth paying. Everything was great. I wish they would update their floors but other than that it was great!

The one thing I will complain about is that the rice that they serve tilts toward the dry side, but especially if you are taking out and know how to do your own rice, this is not much of a problem. Unlike other reviews where I have docked a star for this reason, there was enough of everything else to go just right such that I feel that doing the same here is not a pleasant gesture.

Chicken pad see ew was perfect! Had the lunch special which was a great deal... Little bit of fried tofu to start which was good, then the main dish which was well seasoned, hot, and well balanced. Will definitely be returning for this dish alone.

Picked up 2 orders of chicken satay for carryout.. When I took them out of the container, they were wrapped in foil and dripping brown watery sauce all over. Never saw satay look this disgusting before. Not sure what happened to this place but my guess is another change in ownership. I will not be back...

Small little place with good food but not big portions (huge bowl of white rice...to fill you up?) Been here 3 times and probably done. There are to many great places in the N.W. Burbs.

Cannot make vegan or vegetarian food, said they have to use oyster sauce in everything. Should state that clearly on Uber Eats, I’m sure people have eaten here before and not known.

This is the best Thai that we have found in the Chicago suburbs and are absolutely in love! We were just in Thailand and missed great Thai food and this sure did it! The owners served us and are super sweet and charming. And the price was really low for how great it was. DEFINITELY recommended. My wife looks white with her blond hair and galaxy green blue eyes but she is Asian on the inside. She lives on Asia for years and she highly approves!

The food is so good here! Whether you dine in or carry out, the food always tastes so fresh! And the staff is friendly and social!

Ordered takeout and everyone was very impressed by the quality, flavor, portion size, and price! The Tom yum soup is made very well. I love how you can choose your spicy level. Will be ordering from here often. Dining room is clean and beautiful. Very friendly service and easy online ordering!

We come here a lot for take out, the food is great, ample for the price. The seating area is small but comfortable, love the music! The service is good also, very friendly and attentive.

I couldn’t wait to post on here. We had a girls night at my house last night and after quickly reading some reviews we landed on here for a pick up order. The food wasn’t ready when we arrived. We waited another 10-15 min but the staff was so nice and apologized because they were so busy- I love seeing small businesses thrive so I didn’t mind. It was worth every minute of the extra wait. Every single thing we got was amazingggg. Not one thing disappointed. Everyone was raving. I truly think the best crab rangoon I’ve ever had. We will definitely be making this a new favorite spot.

Hands down, one of the best Green Curry in Mount Prospect. The prices are reasonable and the food is great, fresh. Definitely a frequent place to order your favorite Thai cuisine.

Had Eggplant basil with chicken. Not a lot of eggplant. It takes like pad gra paw but with sliced chicken as opposed to ground. Taste is fine. I found it weird that we were given a bowl with rice and not a plate. Asians (of which I am and distinctly look like one) eat with plates, I had to ask for one. The ambiance is not great but the food is good except for the green curry that my mother ordered, it had a weird taste in it, not sure what.

Good food but spice level is too high. Ordered takeout with spice level 2 on a 1-5 scale but food was at least 4. This is the second time we had the same issue.

I went for the first time today and will definitely be going back. We started with an order of chicken wings and crab ragoons. They were sooooooo good, I could definitely have those two as an entrée for myself. Then we ordered the Massaman curry and the Pad See Ew—also delicious. Staff was very kind and all ordered items were fresh, fairly portioned and priced, and so flavorful.

Best pineapple fries rice

I placed an order through Uber Eats (I've successfully ordered through here multiple times) 2 and a half hours before they closed. I had applied a coupon for the first time on this order. I went to check status of my order and learned Pen Thai said they couldn't fulfill it and canceled my order. I waited almost an hour for order to be fulfilled. The least they could've done was call to inform me they had chosen to cancel my order. If a restaurant doesn't want to apply discounts, they shouldn't agree to participate in the program. Very disappointing. I'll go back to ordering from my old Thai place on principal.

I called to see if I could place an order for pick up and they were pleasant and said they could fill the order. So I told them I'd they were still open, why did they cancel my order. The person was flustered and said because they didn't have basil leaves and then proceeded to try and take my phone order. I told them I would order elsewhere.

Favorite Thai restaurant around Chicagoland, even in the city.

They have gluten free options for the most part - there are a few items where the meat is marinated with soy sauce that has gluten but otherwise the staff here are legit. Plus their food is delicious so that helps.

My go to order is beef salad level 3/5 (not available GF due to marinade), a tom kha soup, and a noodle or curry. Curry puffs (not GF cuz bread) and fried rice if the crew is with me.

I regularly come here for the basil fried rice with tofu and fresh spring rolls. Never disappoints! I usually go for spice level 4 or 5 because I like it spicy enough to make me hiccup. But if you want it more mild you can order it at whatever spice level you like.

Penthai is awesome! We ordered their Pad Thai and it was super flavorful and tasty without being too sweet! Probably one of the best Pad Thai's that I've had in a long time! Their prices are also very consumer-friendly and you really get a bang for your buck! Definitely recommend 10/10 stars. Will be coming back often whenever I visit the Schaumburg/Arlington Heights area!

I have several regrets from dining at this restaurant. I regret that my business has been located across the street for 10 years and only recently have I started frequenting this restaurant. I regret that I have not tried all the things on their menu because it seems like everything I try is very good. I ordered eggplant w basil stir fry. It came out like a typical Chinese food with brown gravy??? What the heck, this is not stir fry.
I say 2 stars for the stir fry dish.
My wife ordered pad woon sen noodle dish. It was decent 3.5 stars.

I came here because of all the positive reviews. If you truly want an authentic Thai food, this is not the place. It’s just very average. I would give it 3 stars at best out of 5.

The food in this restaurant is great. Some work folks decided to try this Thai restaurant instead of the one we usually go to and it turned out to be a good decision. The food here was great . There's plenty of choices for vegetarians. Even the meat eaters in the group found their dishes to be good. The place was busy and so you mustn't be in a big rush when visiting this place.

We only went here because it was open between lunch and dinner hours on our way to O'Hare. I was totally surprised at how good the food was. The Yum Woon Sen and Som Tom salads were as good as in Bangkok. So were the dumplings, chicken satay as well as the catfish and duck dishes. This is the best Thai food I have ever had on my many visits to see family in the Chicago area. Highly recommended.

Have had meals from Penthai twice now, and both times were great! My first try was a little more spicy than I expected. I chose 3 out of 5, and it was HOT! The second time I knocked it back to 2, and it was perfect for me. The Pad nee mao is awesome! This has to be the best place around. Don't miss out. Just realize they bring the heat!

Had a great meal here coming out of the airport. Pad See Ewe was excellent, just a hint of smokiness to the sauce and noodles.

Stopped here and grabbed some Tom Kha soup, fresh spring rolls, Crab Rangoon, and Pad Thai. The soup was very good! I thought it might have been missing a little of the chili oil i normally get on top but it was pretty dang tasty regardless. The spring rolls were decent, im used to them served with a peanut sauce, not sure what this black sauce is but it was pretty good. The crab rangoon was probably my favorite of everything, they were top notch. On to the pad thai, i got mine mild and it still had some good heat, it was the really slow heat that builds up and i feel like it gets hotter if you stop eating it. Overall it was good, but the fried egg stood out more than anything which is kind of a dish ruiner for me. The sauce was overpowered with the egg, but when you get past that its a really solid dish. I am also used to having lime with mine but it didnt come with it, next time i will ask for a wedge. Thanks guys, i appreciate the food!

Me and my husband came here on a Sunday afternoon and we love Thai food - curry, Pad see eiw, tom yum. Most thai places we go to are normally expensive and not good…but this place was beyond our expectations. Very fresh, hot, and flavorful food. Smells very authentic, all the vegetables and meat tasted very fresh. Definitely coming back here for our next Thai craving! Glad we decided to give this place a chance.

This place is a gem in the restaurant choices of NW suburbs .
It is intimate with booth seating and a minimalist style in decor.
It was busy with carryout business on a Saturday nite and in spite of this, the server kept up with the pace of waiting table and sending the carryouts with walk-in customers.

Food is very good and there are plenty of interesting appetizers on menu.
We ordered a red curry soup and cashew chicken which tasted really good. If you like hot, it comes with dried red peppers. I opted out of these and wished for a little heat in the dish after all.
We Will definitely go back to try another dish next time

Great Thai taste (from a Thai)

Wow!! Some of the BEST Thai food I've had in a long time. They had accidentally forgot to include a serving of rice. My husband went back and picked it up and they included free egg rolls. Very impressed and how delicious the food was an how kind the service was, as well. Definitely going again!!

I got curry tofu fried rice with veggie rolls. Very good they even took the egg out the rice for me !

Ordered Green Curry with chicken, deep fried soft shell crab appetizer and takoyaki. Soft shell crab tasted old and like it was fried in old oil. takoyaki were obviously from frozen and extremely mushy, but tasted okay. Green curry was extremely runny and seemed like it was lacking in flavor. First time eating here, would not good back. AltThai in Arlington Heights does a much better job.

Alert to everyone this place has the best Tai food around all Illinois if you had the opportunity go there and you will understand what I say.

Always good, I get the pad Kee Mao/drunken noodle and boy that’s some good stuff.

Absolutely outstanding! We are Thai food junkies and from our first order we are hooked. We started out with the Tom Kha soup which was a flavor explosion. Lots of chicken, onions and peppers. Spice level was also perfect.
The chicken satay was really good as well as the peanut sauce.
Moving on we had the basil fried rice, which once again did not disappoint.
I had the Pad Kemow which was delicious. We also ordered the Panang and Massaman curries. The Panang was our favorite. We will be back, and this may become a regular event for or Friday night ordering out!

One of the best Thai restaurants in the Chicagoland area. My sister discovered this few years ago and we’ve gone there consistently for all sorts of family occasions and celebrations. The service is top notch, all the folks working are very loving and endearing and the food always sumptuous.

I’m so happy to find a Thai place by my house that is sooo good! I had the Panang curry with fried rice and it was perfect. We also got the pad Thai which was on point too. I was a little late to pick up the food and she called me to make sure I was coming since the food was getting cold. So sweet! The portion for the price is really good. Definitely can’t wait to have it again!
