The food, service, atmosphere, EVERYTHING was on point! The Bangkok fried rice was the best fried rice I’ve ever had. The menu has a lot of options and the prices are great too! I would recommend trying this restaurant any day.

My all-time favorite Thai and Japanese combined restaurant that I enjoy going to. I drive 50 minutes just to come for their Mochi Matcha Waffle for breakfast (Sat/Sun only) Honestly, imo top tier. Never had a matcha waffle, let alone mixed with MOCHI inside, as good as theirs. 🥲🥲 For kids, they only have their mickey mouse pancake and on their menu, they state “mini” but presenting HUGE. Bigger than any mickey mouse pancake I’ve gotten for my children from any other breakfast restaurant. Gahdamn 🤤 Dont even get me started on our server, Marie. Informative and wonderful, and beautiful.

I live around the area and come here often for their beef radnar and green curry. They recently started a breakfast menu. Chicken waffle is great. Very generous portion. Loco moco is a fusion style with great twist, pickled onion is amazing. The omurice is also great as well!

This is our go-to place for a very delicious and comforting chicken noodle soup. Our kids love it, and they pack the broth separately from the noodles, and not one drop remains.

I had visited them many times, loved the orange chicken & pad Se eu. The service is very attentive, food portion were great and plate set up is pretty neat. I can't wait to go back there again

Affordable, delicious and easy to order

We thought it was not for our pallete we ended up getting kinda sick but I do wanna say if we had a pallette for the food I think it would be amazing if your into pad Thai and Japanese food there is an excellent variety. The drinks were tasty I recommend the passion fruit tea. Very clean. A little wait but worth it if your into this style of cuisine!

Went here for breakfast, one of the best I’ve had in a while. Seriously, try the breakfast if it’s the right time. This place was so good and bottomless mimosas with super flavorful and crispy breakfast entrees made our day. If I could give a 6 star review I would.

We ordered take out and the food was very hot and good when we got home. Pad see ew was delicious. We also ordered Thai basil beef which was good but the ratio of veggies to meat was almost 5 to 1, it was a bit overwhelming with veggies. Tom yum soup was good but tasted very sweet. I think I’ve had better Tom yum. So far food, I think it’s above average and service was exceptional and quick.

I think I might be the most consistent and oldest orderer of this place, not that it is a competition, but I consider myself the king fan of BT. Occasionally they have forgotten things from a big order like a smoothie. But after YEARS I have never had anything gross or off putting happen with their food. Super delicious and nice people. Very good food and service.

Japanese/Thai food was delicious. We ate lunch their lunch menu and the portions were very generous. Unfortunately they don’t have a kids menu but the staff made a great suggestion for a single order that was generous enough to serve 3 younger children and something they all enjoyed. I’d definitely go back if I could.

Be aware though that you can not see the restaurant from the parking lot you’ll have to park and walk into the court yard area and you’ll see their restaurant near the Verizon store.

Also we had a a party of 5 and we were automatically charged gratuity. For me that wasn’t a problem but I almost added the a second gratuity which would have been half the bill. Either way the food was awesome and the staff were great.

I had a amazing visit at Bangkok today for breakfast. when plating the food was so much fun to see. they have alot of variety of breakfast available even for gluten free options I didn’t ask if it was Coeliac friendly but the food was really good. and they have all you can drink mimosas with various of flavors to pick and rotate. I highly suggest to visit their in the weekends when they serve breakfast 🍳

Ordered breakfast to go and I was so shocked by how beautiful it looked even as a to go order. Food was delicious and I’ll definitely be going back.

We ordered Lettuce wraps and chicken Pad Thai. The noddles were hard and not cooked in the lettuce wraps and we ordered medium hot but it was a little too hot for my husband. Food portions are generous.

This gem of a restaurant is tucked away, but easy to find. Patio seating is available on a nice day. We had tofu spring rolls, Bento Boxes, and Thai Iced Teas. Everything was delicious and plentiful. Great soft music playing. You can have a conversation easily. The service was friendly and attentive. We will definitely be back.

Ordered a lot which the wife and I usually do at first time visits. We cannot go to a Thai restaurant and not order Pad Thai, so ordered that in one of the bento boxes. The pad Thai was good but we're still on the hunt for a specific pad Thai weve had overseas. The peanut sauce that came with the Satay chicken was awesome. We ordered the coconut shrimp, which were delicious on their own, didn't care for the marmalade based sauce. We ordered two rolls, the Fire Fuji Mountain roll and another roll which I can't remember the name. First roll was full of flavor and delicious, second roll was good but should have eaten it first. For the last dish had yakisoba with pork. DELICIOUS. Service was outstanding super friendly, but there was only 3 tables so don't know how that service is when it's a packed house.

Pretty disappointing. Never offered a chance to order drinks. Otherwise service was strangely attentive. The food is simply mediocre at best. Maybe we caught them on a bad night.

Go to Bangkok Tokyo. I promise you will not regret it. Every single item that I have tried has been fantastic. The staff are quite friendly, absolutely dedicated and passionate. Go for breakfast, get the tycoon bacon, and be happy.

Bangkok Tokyo is my favorite restaurant in Lake Bluff! There is not a dish that I have tried that I do not love! From the Sushi rolls, to the Pad Thai, to the Orange Chicken...the food is always so fresh, light, and delicious!

I have driven by this restaurant for 3 years and finally tried it. I wish I would have stopped sooner. A gem of a restaurant, with amazing food and great service. I am a sucker for breakfast so when I saw that they serve it until 230, I had to try. The Alaska Benedict was TO DIE FOR!! The Wasabi hollandaise was such a surprisingly delightful taste. The cucumbers and lemon added a flavor and crunch that I never knew I needed in my benedict. It also came with potatoes and brussel sprouts that blew me away. Seriously, you have to try it. I also ordered a Philly roll and it was the best I've had. The smoked salmon on the Benedict and the roll was so good. The breakfast menu looks fantastic, along with the regular menu. I absolutely will be returning, I need to make up for lost time!

We celebrated my husband's birthday and our 15th anniversary with family at Bangkok Tokyo.
Delicious dinner, and my dinner(sweet/sour chicken and rice) had plenty to take home and enjoy another meal! Had a great time!

Let me tell you here my favorite give food in general is French toast, I am a Fitness coach and it is my cheat meal of the week. So when I found out this place next to my job started selling breakfast it was only right to try there French toast, and let me tell you it was amazing it actually taste like French toast and not just egg. I will tell you that it has its own unique taste to it that other places don't have normally French toast just taste like eggs but you can actually taste the quality of the French toast. It's sooooo goood and also got there strawberry avocado toast and it was amazing it was my first time trying it and let me tell you they got a regular with me for breakfast I wanna go back and try every item now lol if you haven't tried there breakfast what I highly recommend you go in and give it a try. 5 ⭐️

Great new breakfast! Strawberry avocado toast! Loco moco! And matcha mochi waffles-so tasty!!! We had dinner here last week and enjoyed the red thai curry and pad see ewe, and got told about the breakfast. We came to try today and will be back soon. Very attentive team and great atmosphere.

UPDATE:
I took a drive to the restaurant all the way from Chicago for carry-out. I went around the lunch hour. They were very busy. I didn't call it in so I waited for my order. It wasn't the friendly experience as my first visit. The food was still great. When I got home I realized the portions were smaller then when you eat at the restaurant. I was very disappointed.

2 MONTHS AGO:
I was there Saturday night. I had a concert to see at the Genesee Theater. I was searching for a place to eat on the way there. I choose this restaurant and it was the best decision. I was dining with my cousin and we were happy with everything. We ordered the following; Appetizers were Spring rolls and Crab Rangoon, dinner was Pad Thai with chicken and Spicy Bangkok Fired Rice with shrimp. Drinks were very good as well. We walked in and it's a very nice place and great atmosphere. The server was very nice. The food was absolutely amazing. If we had more time we would have ordered more food. The menu sounds amazing. The absolute best was the Crab Rangoon. I'm a fan and that was the best I've ever tasted.

The pricing is very reasonable. If I could give them some recommendations it would be, pick up empty plates, automatically provide water and make sure the food gets to the table steaming hot. Our food was lukewarm but still so good. I'm just sad I live so far because I was coming from the city. But I just might make another trip very soon. I highly recommend this place.

Delicious drunken noodles

Attempted to enjoy a meal as a family after our daughters Naval graduation (11/19/23) and it was a total fail.
Place looked inviting and there were only 2 other tables seated when we arrived, so it wasn't that busy.
Any how we proceeded to order our meals together because when you go out to eat, you expect to eat together as a family, however this was not the case. All our food came out individually preventing us from eating together as a family.
Not talking about a minute or two within each other, I'm talking numerous minutes between each dish that came out.
Totally unacceptable for a restaurant to serve customers in that fashion, especially when it's a family of four and you have others at the table watching others eat while they have no food.
The host was a dainty little man who was more concerned about his Moncler jacket and hair than he was about customer service.

I made sure to make a comment before I paid the bill and left the establishment, however from the reaction I got from the three employees who heard me and made eye contact, none of them had the nerve to apologize or offer an explanation. A sorry bunch of individuals who aren't worth the minimum wage the state has set!
Time to hire a new sushi chef, the female they currently have behind the sushi bar is more concerned with chatting it up and laughing rather than getting the customers food out. I only say this, because two of the orders were sushi and shouldn't of taken as long as it did.

Bottom line the food is MEDIOCRE at best and the customer service is dismal at best. Save yourself the trouble and find other meal options, will save your self TIME, MONEY & FRUSTRATIONS.

Horrible service me and my wife had waited for 20 mins just to find out other costumers being served that came in after us. Not worth to come here.

I had been a customer for a while and had noticed a decline lately in the quality of food. Last night I ordered fried rice, pad Thai and spring rolls for pick up. Everything was terrible. Pad Thai looked and tasted as it had been made days before. It was certainly reheated several times. Spring rolls tasted awful and had no filing. Fried rice also tasted old. Also, when I left the restaurant after picking up the food I ran into a rat! I did call today to make a complaint but manager did not care.

We found Bangkok Tokyo restaurant very delicious and service was excellent.
I had Spicy Basil Duck. It was the best duck I ever had. I give this dish 5 stars.
I'd recommend to try it for yourself and visit Bangkok Tokyo restaurant!

Bangkok Tokyo Restaurant is definitely the spot for lunch. The lunch special is worth it. Ha, that being said, let me get into it. The food is very good. I feel everything is very fresh and you can really see that they care for the customers in every dish. I got the lunch special which was good considering I had to limit myself on certain types of food. So it was the right amount. The service was great our waitress really checked in often and they refilled our water often. Hard to find places where they do that for customers now a days. The atmosphere or ambiance like I call it, relay nice the lighting and decor inside really was refreshing as it wasn’t too much. Overall, I would say BTR is really worth every penny and the food quality and tailored service for every customer / table really makes one feel like they are as important and everyone being served. Check’em out!

What a wonderful place. The food was wonderful and the service was great. Vertically all dishes can be ordered either vegetarian or with tofu if you don’t eat meat.. I had the spicy Basel Bangkok box with pork-whooo very spicy. My wife had the sesame chicken but vegetarian style ( she loved it). She also had the Bangkok martini which was fantastic (I had a taste). We can’t wait to visit again.

I have been coming here for nearly 10 years! Food is good and always fresh! Price is reasonable and they even have cute outdoor seating during the summer! Service is also always friendly and helpful! Only thing I can think of that could improve is there alcoholic beverages/cocktails but honestly the food is soo good I don’t even mind! If you are in the area make sure to try it.

This place was an unexpected treat in an unlikely location. Food, service and ambulance were all very good. To top it off, the bathrooms were quite decent.

I would give 5 stars if they would stop including plastic flatware in delivery bags (even after I specifically ask for none). I understand--if you just moved in to your place, and your flatware is packed away, or it's lunch and you are in your car, you might need the plastic kit. Ask people. That's it. Throwing it in doesn't make you seem like you care, it actually makes you look like you don't. Save the money, too. Love so many entrees!

I hadn’t ordered carry out from this restaurant in a very long time. I had chicken with garlic sauce, egg rolls and coconut shrimp. Everything was delicious and I will get three meals from this, which makes me happy. I called the restaurant to let them know. Excellent service!
