The coconut shrimp was really good, fried with coconut flakes on the outside – I liked it. For the main course, we ordered the green curry chicken with extra rice on the side. It was really well-prepared, and I truly enjoyed it. Finally, the dessert was amazing. It was like a Turkish rice pudding, but with mango and coconut milk. I loved the taste. I would definitely come back just for this dessert and dish. We sat on the terrace, and it was very spacious and comfortable.
If you are a crab rangoon lover or on a search for the best crab rangoon, u MUST try here.
I can assure you it will be at your top of the list.
Having said this, their food is really good. Today, we got crab rangoon, fried calamari, panang curry, pad see eiw and pad kee mao.
You can tell noodles were cooked at very hot temperature, vegetables were just crunch enough, not mushy. Well seasoned and overall cooked very nice.
Curry was sweet yet not flavorful, very nice portion as well.
But I almost gave 4 stars due to price... I mean, just from a few months ago I was here, price on each dish increased by 4 dollars. That is 30% increase approximately, and that is tough to swallow.
I mean, look at price on dessert, that is outrageous. Who is paying 11.95 for mango sticky rice? 6.95 for ice cream? Ridiculous.
I asked for some hot sauce, got what looks like sambal sauce, and was charged .50 cents.
Overall, Im still giving 5 stars purely on food, which is one and most important aspect of my judgment on restaurant. I'm just sad about new pricing.
Our visit was 25 June 2023, during a business trip. The place is beautiful and has some small areas that are quant to eat in. Parking is on the street but we were fortunate it was a Sunday, the day we flew in. The reviews were rated high so we thought we would try it out. Total of 5 of us. We all had different dishes and consensus was some portions were small for pricing and some of them left taste to be a challenge, meaning a little lacking. Overall, the food was prepared well and we enjoyed ourselves. The staff was excellent and pleasant and looked out for my food allergies.
Absolutely adorable Thai place!! We sat upstairs on the rooftop patio...highly recommend 👌 Started the meal with a delicious order of potstickers. The lime chicken and Mongolian entrées were out of this world!! (I loved the lime chicken much so I got a small container of the lime sauce to go 😉) Peach smoothie with boba was delicious too! 🍑🧋
We order from this restaurant several times a month, and they just have been missing the mark every time lately. Each of the last 3 times we have ordered delivery, the curry comes without rice. We just received a bag full of food tonight with two entrees that need rice and lo and behold - there was no rice. They have also routinely given left out entrees or just outright delivered another person’s food. We do not order through Uber Eats, but we will start so that we can have a functioning customer service apparatus when Yasotorn inevitably gets our order wrong and refuses to offer any help or solution. If you order from here, make sure you have rice ready for when your food arrives because it will NOT be in the bag.
If you go into the restaurant, make sure you have nothing to do afterwards because the service is BAD and SLOW. Thankfully, if you are actually inside the restaurant they can’t get your order wrong (you might have to send it back, but eventually it will come out correct), but the trade off is woefully bad service.
Avoid like the plague. Better food and MUCH better service awaits you at Cozy Noodles on Maple when they open. The only reason to order Yasotorn is if Cozy is closed, and even then, maybe just get pizza.

They had very serene, tasteful jazz music in the background. Their Pad Prik had bamboo shoots that didn't jump out at me, but the sauce was very tasty and masked the undercooked flavor of the tofu.
Food was pretty good but a little over priced 👍
One of our favorite restaurants in Evanston. Healthy and yummy food.
Never trust a Thai restaurant that uses broccoli in a pad see ew. Where's the Chinese broccoli? Price does not make sense considering the lack in authenticity.
Food is delicious and the rooftop dining area is nice.
Food great
Way too loud!!
Children screaming crying next to my table
I asked the waitress to sit down because the noise
She rude and long face because the stairs
Up and down
Service BAD
Not going back to dine in
Not recommended for a date ...
Amazing mango sticky rice!
Found the place just looking for something unique when we were passing through Evanston. Call the head to see if we can get their patio seating on the second floor, they said they probably were full but I could swing by anyways and try to work us in. They got us on the patio and it was beautiful nice small place. I got the beef large salad and my wife got the panang curry with Crispy noodles. Fried tofu for the app. No it's a BYOB so they don't have anything on hand there for alcoholic drinks. Two bucks for a can of Diet Coke is fine by me. Reasonable pricing great service.
This restaurant is worse

When we informed the staff that a rat had run by our table, we were met with sarcasm and asked if we wanted them to kill it. We've been loyal customers for years, but after this experience, we won’t be returning. A restaurant that treats the presence of rats so casually should not be in business. This is not a scene from *Ratatouille
Fantastic Thai food in Evanston and wonderful 2nd floor outside patio purrfect on summer evenings
Meh.
Excellent food and great service. Good food at a good price.
Delicious authentic food in a place with a gorgeous patio. Easily beats well-reviewed places in the city.
Food is ok. Atmosphere good. Not going back because service is terrible.
If you are a crab rangoon lover or on a search for the best crab rangoon, u MUST try here.

Pad Thai was with terrible taste and smell. I’ve been there other times and the food was ok, I don’t what happen this time.
Delicious food. We tried the summer rolls, cucumber salad, ginger stirfry, cashew nut, and crispy pad Thai. All wonderful. Highly recommend

I ordered Tofu Panang curry for pickup, but they gave me Chicken Panang curry instead. I'm disappointed because it's not what I ordered.
The flavors were top notch. Khao Soi and Tom Kha were fantastic.
We really enjoyed our visit. The food is excellent and the atmosphere is cozy and refined. The staff was very attentive and friendly. We shared a green curry, pad woo soon, and pad thai. All dishes were uniformly tasty and the portions were ample. The prices were a tad high, but appropriate for the portion size. We'll go again and I can highly recommend this restaurant for lunch or dinner..
Tasty food. Sadly, got the order wrong. Nice atmosphere, dined al fresco.
Baller pad thai, super cute indoors and immaculate vibes
Went there twice or three times. Food is okay but service is really bad. Waitress brought wrong dishes to our table. We had them without noticing because we also ordered curry. The waitress told us she was going to “add these dishes to your order”. Very ridiculous. 1/5.
Great food, service, and atmosphere. Highly recommend.
Wonderful restaurant - excellent food and friendly staff!
I will always be grateful to Yasotorn for taking my order right before closing on a weekday night. I had a long day at work and called in 15 minutes before they close at 9pm. The server who answered my call was very friendly and said that I can still place an order.
I recommend trying their Hoi Tod – Thai omelette with mussels and beansprouts. The accompanying sauce paired well with the omelette.
If you're looking for good, reliable Thai food with some unique options and friendly customer service, I recommend visiting Yasotorn.
Loved the take out
Good food, good customer service, very consistent
I’ve gotten take out and delivery and they’ve been the best every time. I really want to eat in because of how adorable everything looks. But if you only get the chance to take home, it’s phenomenal, best Thai I’ve had. Everything is wonderful.
One of the best Thai food I've ever eaten!! The place is very cozy and quaint. The service was amazing! Definitely recommend the Red Thai Curry.

Yasotorn is for sure a hidden gem in Evanston - and such a great spot for rooftop dining! The menu and staff cater to different diets and I love all the vegetarian options. Such a great location and it’s BYOB so you can bring a bev to suit your preferences!
Terrible take out service nobody greets you and inquires about your order. I waited 30 extra minutes while my food was ready just standing there in the lobby area with 7 other people standing around while the waiter never even looked our way. I’m never going back that was probably the worst take out service I have ever received. Just a heads up if you do get carry out You walk up the stairs and go by the kitchen that’s the only way you’ll get acknowledged. It’s an odd setup tbh but overall save your money and go somewhere else where you’re treated with a little bit of dignity because that was embarrassing.
Very delicious, tasty, and savory food, and affordable. A 10 out of 10 dine in experience, with a very beautiful and pleasant environment.
I had the Massaman and it was delicious! Can’t wait to order it again.
Service was fine and the atmosphere is decent.
What really stunned me here was the amazing food! For starters I had the Som Tum Thai. I wasn't expecting a salad to really surprise me, but the dressing was very well made and worked perfectly with the texture of the papaya shreds. It was a balance fruity, savory, and sweet flavors that really seemed to be the theme for most of the food items I ordered.
Afterwards, I had the grilled pork shoulder which had a great smoky flavor that paired very well with the spicy and savory sauce that came with it. I really liked the touch of paprika in the sauce that really brought together the whole dish.
The Tom Yum soup was decent, but it didn't compare to what came next! The duck curry was absolutely splendid, the duck was roasted to the perfect crispiness that melted in my mouth! It was almost as crispy as Korean fried chicken without even having any fried batter on it! The curry sauce itself was well balanced in heat, sweetness, and savoriness. I normally don't like coconut milk based curries because it feels like the coconut flavor can overpower everything else, but this wasn't the case here. The flavor balance was perfect and just had a subtle hint of everything in it without overloading one flavor profile over another. Combined with the fluffy jasmine rice and crispy duck, it was definitely the highlight of the meal.
Overall, I mainly review based on the taste of the food and this by far has exceeded my expectations as one of the best Thai restaurants in the Chicago area that I've personally had!
We ordered take out. It was ready for pickup on time. The Pad Thai with chicken was tasty (not much chicken but what was there was tender) and Chicken Satay ( this was over cooked to the point of being difficult to remove from the skewer). I’ll try one more time since this is a favorite Thai dish.
The food is great and this restaurant is a good carry-out choice, but the service here for dine-in is just awful.
Staff is completely incompetent. I reserved a table outside at 5:45pm. I then called to confirm. We arrived at 5:45, there was a reservation and walk-in ahead of us. They sat everyone outside and then said, sorry there were no tables available. They sat everyone outside, and didn’t seem to understand how a reservation system works. The rooftop is the only positive element of this place.
Very good, authentic Thai food. The staff is friendly. Rooftop seating is great for the summer and evening dining.
A cute little restaurant with attractive decor inside. We ordered vegetarian red curry, basil tofu and pad kee mao noodle. All the items were very delicious. Excellent, friendly service
Great food, great service and a very pleasant space to sit outside. Menu clearly marks gluten free and vegan options. Definitely a place to try
The food is always good, a little pricey but worth it.
Delicious food and good service! Will be going back!
Really good food with nice outdoor space.
Best thai food around. Many gluten free options. Delicious
Food is top notch, but service and timing is inconsistent. Ordered takeout and it took twice as long as they said to be ready.
The service wasn’t good. They have such a busy carry out business that they don’t pay much attention to their dine in customers. I saw a couple at another table leave because they weren’t served. I chose this place as we were visiting Evanston for a concert for my birthday. Bad pick. I ordered something that the menu indicated was spicy but it was not. I ordered hot tea and they brought me a tea bag. For three dollars. One tea bag with a tea pot full of hot water. Sure, I would have loved to have another cup of tea and some spice added to my dish, but they didn’t return to check on us till well after we finished eating.
I ordered the fried rice for my film set and everyone loved it! The taste was perfect
Server was skillfully managing all the tables simultaneously and she still found a way to keep everyone happy. Incredible service and delicious Thai food!
Delivery arrived hot and delicious.
Highly recommend!
Excellent food! Pad Thai is first rate. Also love the Spicy basil. Very friendly staff.
The food is more than amazing! I wish I could give them 10 stars. I've tried different dishes, and everything was delicious! Very attentive and friendly staff. They have gluten and dairy free options. The Mango Sticky Rice dessert is a must! Definitely coming back!
Great food, generous portions, very good help from wait staff. Reasonably priced. Rooftop in warm weather is just wonderful. But BYOB!
I relied on Yasotorn to cater a family dinner for 25 people. Best decision I’ve made in a while!! The food was delicious, such a hit with everything. And the Yasotorn staff were so helpful with recommendations for how much food to order, which dishes, and delivered on time. My favorite was the Panang curry and the crab Rangoon. Thank you Yasotorn!!
Food excellent, but service was exceedingly slow; appetizer arrived more than a half-hour after we ordered. Another party that walked in just after us received their appetizer 25 minutes before we did and their entrees five minutes before we got our appetizer-- and I suspect the service would have been even slower if I hadn't called the server over to ask where our food was. Might consider the restaurant for take-out but not for dine-in; found the experience very irritating.
Wonderful atmosphere and delicious food! If you want something warm and filling for a good price (and good portions) this is a perfect spot. Close to purple line too. Tried pad thai and tom yum and they were both delicious. 😄😄
Fried rice was decent with tofu
Delicious Thai food, beautiful upstairs patio and friendly service with many Thai people on the staff. Would recommend the spicy basil and the spring rolls. Clever pricing scheme for entrees that only depends on your choice of protein.
Never order food they take 2 to 3 hours.most slowest restaurant for pick up orders.
Decent dishes but the prices have been increased significantly. I always love the food here. Great food and service. Would come back again
Hilariously bad service. Took twice as long as they said it would take and it was all for food that wound up being something that would’ve been better bought from a grocery store. One of the times I went in to ask if the food was ready yet the server just ran away from me. As for the food, I’m aware of different styles but I have never seen a place get Orange Chicken so spectacularly wrong.
Food was ok - lacked spice and some flavor. The service was very slow despite there only being two groups to tend to on a Friday at 6pm.
Amazing ambiance and delicious cashew chicken
This place is amazing. I give everything a five star; the crab Rangoon, fried pork, pad Thai, and red curry. And the patio is so cute!!
Food was late, but was good.
Unfortunately the tilapia came a bit uncooked in the inside, and when we asked for them to cook it again, it came back burnt on the outside. Not ideal for a dish that costs upward of $30. Papaya salad was also underwhelming - usually one of my fav dishes but something about the freshness of the ingredients/sauce didn’t work for me. I wouldn’t come back here again.
Great service, delicious food and friendly helpful staff. We sat up on the terrace and thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
Best thai food in Evanston strong recommendation!
It's okay. Nothing to get excited about other than the amazing rooftop. BYOB by the way.
The Tom Kha and the Tom Yum soups were very good, and so was the beef dish called Cry Tiger. The marinated pork though was VERY dry and basically non-edible so had to throw it out. A pity, especially after paying $10 for it!
SO Happy my friend & I decided to check this place out!!! Food is AMAZING. Tonight was our second time going & each time the food has been Super Fresh & Tasty! GREAT Orange Chicken— I’ve been on the Hunt for a place with Crispy Orange Chicken!! I can’t stand soggy/soft Orange Chicken (I’m very picky.) The staff are All Very Friendly— our waiter tonight was a Very Kind man! The interior is Clean & Comfortable; LOVE the roof top patio!
Had the beef fried rice, pad see ew, egg rolls, crab rangoon and tiger cry (mediocre). Everything was tasty! Staff was very nice and we enjoyed eating in the patio area.
We really enjoyed the flavors and the rooftop at Yasothorn. Pictured is the mussel omelette Hoi Tod, new to me. Delicious with the sauce which was a combo of sweet and spicy. We also enjoyed the mini egg rolls, curries, and a not too sweet pad see ewe. Service was fine, everyone arrived at once and seemed to enjoy their dinners.
Just amazing! The ambiance of this place is warm and welcoming. It’s quite a surprise when you come in. I didn’t expect such a restaurant with a cute exterior to have an interior that could compete with a 5 star one. This place is worth a stop by, and should be at least a 4.8/5 or higher in google. Amazing price for the portion size, I promise you will not leave this restaurant hungry.
Wow! We had such a wonderful meal at this lovely Evanston Thai restaurant. Their outdoor patio is really nice and the food quality is amazing. Standout dishes were the Pad See Ew and the massaman curry. I will definitely be coming back.
The best Thai in EVanston. Noodle dishes are excellent , so is the curry. Smoothies with tapioca balls were a bit flavorless.
The people here are super nice. We had an I gredients issue which was resolved quickly with prompt, and curtious communication.
AMAZING duck curry! Food was stellar!
However, there was a rude impatient lady who threatened to call the cops bc she couldn’t wait a standard amount of time for food from an amazing busy restaurant. I’ll definitely come back our waiter was amazing and the food was the best Thai I’ve ever had. They handled a rude customer with class.
I think this is the best Thai place in Evanston now. It's a nice little spot.
Delicious and light and fresh. So good. If you want light food don't order Chinese!
Very friendly service and great Thai soups! However, the pad kee mao was a bit greasy. Overall, a cute little thai restaurant with an upper level patio that would be nice on a summer day.
Food is good, like really good. The pad thai is perhaps the best I’ve had at a restaurant. But, the service is unacceptably slow. Both times I’ve ordered takeout I’ve waited 1.5 to 2 hours for the food. Would love to revise this review to 5 stars one day if their service improves!
Super slow for delivery services!
The food and service was definitely great. But it seemed like they don't have enough staffs. There was only one person taking care of the guests dining-in and getting take-outs. Though the venue itself was not very big, there was a delay in the service. And I'm also guessing there's not enough people working in the kitchen, given how long it took for the food to come out. It was also odd that you don't get rice together with the curry and you have to make a separate order for it.
Thanks so much, having such a delicious Thai restaurant in Evanston!! Great food, great job, high recommendation!
Food was really fantastic. Authentic flavors and everything was spot on. (Cucumber salad could use a touch more vinegar for my liking)
Just…yum. A lovely, light, cozy local place serving up all sorts of deliciousness. +1 to Aom Fletcher and team.
Ordered from here last night. Lovely people. Delicious food. Our new go to Thai spot. Highly recommend.
Authentic Thai cuisine in Evanston. Also they cater.
Not very happy both times we've tried it. Second time, scheduled to pick up but had to wait 20 minutes for them to pack everything. No one was in the front of the restaurant so I had to wait and then call from inside the restaurant to get someone to come out the kitchen. Fried rice was extremely greasy and portions seem small for the prices. I don't know why people seem to love this place.
Such good food, very receptive for my husband’s allergies
Such amazing flavors. Some of the best Thai food I've ever had. The service was a bit slow, only had one chef but it's 100% worth the wait. Try it, you won't be disappointed.
This place is exactly Thai’s taste
Such a wonderful little place for authentic Thai food! Cozy space, nicely decorated with a warm and romantic atmosphere. Food is simply amazing, can’t go wrong with any order. The pork shoulder is a must-try!
Wow so good! Best Thai food in Evanston by far. Be sure to indicate your preferred spice levels because their default is pretty spicy.
The food was very good. We will definitely be going back.
Awesome! Dined there on 10/29/21 at around 9 pm. Service was great, food was awesome, and loved the space. No liquor license yet so it is a BYOB place. We'll certainly come again...
Great food an vs the service was on point! Lou went above and beyond
Went here last week and it was a wonderful experience. The staff and owner were so friendly and attentive. And the food was just wonderful! Each and every dish we tried was absolutely delicious! I will recommend it to every one looking for an authentic Thai restaurant in Evanston! Can't wait to go back and try some other dishes!
I have been patiently waiting and watching as YTC converted SIAM PASTA into their new restaurant. Keeping some of the original elements of SP and adding some nice touches, they created an inviting and spotless dining environment. The food we ordered was delicious.....especially the chicken satay and Pad Thai w/tofu, main staples of Thai cuisine. We also ordered Tom Yum which was prepared with lots of veggies, lemongrass and was very fragrant. Unfortunately our last dish never arrived (Chicken w/cashew nuts) but they just opened and still working out the kinks. Their phone was ringing and carryout orders were steady. Just give them plenty of time for dining in or pickup. Highly recommend.
Great authentic Thai food in the Evanston area! The staffs are truly nice and provide excellent services for our table. Will come back next time when visit Evanston.
