Extensive Thai food menu with veggie options offered in basic environs, plus a popular lunch buffet.
Wish the buffet is still here but super tasty food. Portion size is generous and veggies fresh.
Cucumber salad in large size: HELLO π₯
Papaya salad: som tum done right
Chicken satay: real tender and not dry with yum peanut dip
MeeKrob: not so good this time
Green curry : we ordered one mild and one medium spicyβ¦ πΆοΈ π₯΅ go with the mild unless you can handle the heat
Pad see ew: great balance and noodle is soft and chewy.
I now live out of state, and this is the first restaurant I go to when Iβm back in town. My favorite Thai restaurant in Chicago. Go here, make sure you try the Tom Yum Shrimp, Pad Thai, and Panang Curry Chicken. This restaurant is so consistently good. Always the same great fresh taste.
Cozy eatery decorated with traditional Thai pieces. The noodle dishes were delicious, bouncy perfectly cooked noodles with the right amount of seasoning. Highly recommend the Pad Kee Mao. The waitress was also very kind and attentive :)
This might have been one of the worst Thai food experiences Iβve had. The food was awful. Bland and uninspired. The Pad Thai resembled nothing like Pad Thai in flavor, texture, etc., a congealed clumpy, mess. The khao soy was spicy but no flavor - mushy mess. Pad See Ew equally gross with little flavor and extra soft broccoli. I know itβs Americanized but this was bottom of the barrel, gross food. Iβve passed this place for years and finally decided to try. Horrendous.
The food is really good here. The portions are generous and the food is very flavorful. I never eat there Because the service is not very good. The owner is constantly changing waitresses nobody last very long there. Also the restaurant is very small. I love pad thai, beso chicken, and Tom Cat Soup
I thought I am in Thailand for a second! I ordered Moo-Sarong, one of the ancient Thai appertiser way back when Portuguese and Chinese sailing boats to Thailand for trades. This dish was excellent, tender and crispy. Pad Prik Sod is one of my own favorite dishes. This restaurant made this dish perfectly spice and fresh! Highly recommended this place for anyone who want to try authentic Thai food!
Food was fine. However, the server forgot to serve us the dessert and the next day when I called for refund, the woman who answered the phone was really impatient and disrespectful. Wouldnβt recommend to go.
Waitress uses Gain, Tide Yellow, or some extremely strongly scented detergent on their clothes, making the entire place very itchy to be in. I nearly died of itchiness while eating here. Food is great, but I don't think I could stand the strong smelling detergent (Gain, tide yellow, or Extra(tm)) on the waitress's clothes

Great flavor and delicious although it is only excellent 65% of the time. 35% of the time it is just not that flavorful and often too salty or too sweet. Recipe ratios are not consistently measured to precision every time. Also, one or more people here use 100% silicone caulk as lotion (CeraVe). When they hand you your debit card and your bag of food to you, you'd better have plastic gloves on because it will contaminate your hands with this extremely slippery greasy substance, more slippery than sanitizer oil.
this is very good thai food, definitely the tastiest in evanston for sure
Thank you so much for the food you provided for our film shoot; it was delicious!

Friendly staff and the food was incredible. Medium was spicier than I thought it was be, but it was still great.
Great selection of out of the ordinary dishes.
Definitely love this place! Always hits the spot! One of my wife and Iβs favorite places in Chicagoland! Donβt sleep on it! Fresh food and quality food!
Best thai food Iβve ever had!

This is my go-to spot for takeout in Evanston, food is fantastic, good portions and cheap

Amazing options with reasonable prices and hugeeee portions. Was able to eat leftovers for lunch the next day. Will definitely be back
For a superb curry dish with the right blends of spice and veggies in the Evanston area. I would suggest Siam Splendor. Try the Roasted Curry duck dish. I had the Thai ice coffee as a delish treat to compliment the heat of my meal. The place was full of patrons but not over crowded. Nicely decorated beverage bar area with a small cozy family oriented dine in seating option. The wait is appropriate for food made to order. Parking spots are available and walking distance from public transportation in downtown Evanston.
I had an overall pleasant dinner and for their Thai coffee I would go more than once a a week!
Dinner for one, two or a family of five at Siam Splendor have an excellent culinary quest.
Amazing Thai food. I have never been disappointed eating here. I always ask for my meals to be 'really spicy' and they never disappoint. Great flavor with great heat. Unfortunately my father asked for medium heat after not eating spicy foods for many years and ended up regretting it, but he still said the flavor was amazing. Best Thai food in Illinois that I have found so far, just be aware their medium has a kick to it!
Food and service are very good. Restaurant is like a diner in atmosphere.
Great authentic Thai food !

Great food! Don't forget to ask them to customize the spice levels to your taste
Siam Spleandour never ceases to amaze me with respect to its ambiance and cuisine. Having been fortunate to visit in the 70βs, this neighborhood Treasures is frequented by cognoscenti who appreciate the beauty and gracious abundance of all things Thai. Owner Mr N delivers a cornucopia. Β‘ Sah WatiKah!

Very good Thai restaurant with a few authentic Thai dishes that you might not otherwise find at other Thai restaurants.
Their noodle dishes like Pad See Ew has a wok hei flavor. In Asian cooking, "wok hei" means breath of the wok, which essentially refers to the smoky, charred flavor that you get from stir frying in a wok over very high heat. If I have to give an analogy, it's like giving a steak a really good sear.
I also recommend one of their rice dishes called Kao Nar Ped, which is roast duck served with Chinese broccoli and rice. Siam Splendour also has an authentic Thai appetizer called Tod Mun, which is a savory fish cake accompanied by a tangy dipping sauce. I also especially like their Thai Custard for dessert, and am looking forward to mango being back in season so I can order their Mango Sticky Rice.
With so many Thai restaurants in the area, you can't go wrong with Siam Splendour.
This has been my favorite restaurant for the last 8 years. I have never had a better pad see ew than this restaurant!
best Thai in Chicago, try the Khao Soyπππ
Ordered online. Food wasnβt ready until 21 minutes after it was supposed to be. Vegetarian dish (specifically marked βvegetarianβ option contained bits of chicken, and dish ordered with chicken was prepared with beef. Restaurant said they would provide credit back for the two dishes that were incorrect, but never did.
Good food.
I will not be coming back here. Me and my boyfriend tried to eat here on a Friday night around 6:30 to celebrate our anniversary. When we walked in, they told us all of the tables were reserved even though no one was sitting in the restaurant. We tried to order a Pad See Ew with tofu and no egg (I am allergic to egg), but they told us they couldnβt do that because they were βtoo busy.β Clearly, they donβt care about their customers. Ridiculous.
Best thai food in the area, there was an issue with my order and the owner refunded me immediately and was very professional about it. Our favorite place, will keep coming back.
Donβt go here!!

Great restaurant. Great food and attentive to customer needs. They cook good Thai food without putting so much sugar or spice. They debone the duck!! Highly recommend the basil duck.
CHECK YOUR BAG IF ORDERING TAKEOUT! I've ordered takeout from these guys 3 times and they've screwed up the order every time. The foods very good but I won't be going back.
Pad Thai was fine, would not recommend the curry
Original dishes, friendly service, very reasonable prices
Excellent food, cozy atmosphere, and attentive service. Will surely return
Duck was delicious!
First time I went, food was amazing. I wish I remembered what I ordered because THIS time, the Pad Thai was awful. The only flavor I tasted was SWEET. It didn't even look appetizing...but I was really hungry so I ate some of it. I think it's hit or miss but skip this dish unless you like bland. I had to squeeze lime on it to add flavor. Does this look appetizing to you?
The perfect lime chicken ever
The Tom yum is awesome
One bit chicken....yami yummy
Maybe my favorite Evanston restaurant. Love the quality of the food and love the 'mom and pop' family restaurant vibe.
Best food Iβve in the last year in Chicago. Not even close.
Good Thai food. Portion is not too big.
Best Tom Kha and Pad Thai I've had outside of the city, except for maybe the place on Dempster in Niles. Avoid the very weird satay that tastes like Indian Tikka. Tilapia remarkably good. Also, mild spicy is plenty spicy. If you order even medium spicy be warned, you will be in pain. This aligns with California Thai spice levels. My tolerance is higher than the average person.
Great, great food! The staff is also great -- very friendly! Would definitely recommend!
Terrible service. Very rude lady. Ordered food at 6:30 dining in. Did not receive any food until 7:30. after asking her politely how much longer, she says you can leave if you want. Very disrespectful.
delicious, thank you Siam Splendour!
amazing rice!
This was the second time that Siam Splendour has done a food donation for a set I've been on. The food is incredible, and the people are amazing. We loved our tofu fried rice and I will 100% be coming here again.
Best Thai food in Evanston by far! Curries and noodles are always fresh and flavorful.
Probably the best Thai food in the area. Seems designed for carryout but has a few tables. Bright pleasant atmosphere, not intimate.
Asked how hot we wanted a curry dish: 1-5, we said hot and she recommended 2. "Nobody ever orders 5," she said. "just one or two people." And yes, 2 was hot.
And delicious.
One of my favorite Thai restaurants. Have been going here for over 10 years. Amazing food and friendly owners. A wonderful family run business.
I donβt know if this is how their food should taste or not but if this is as authentic as it can get, than I love it. Do not miss their Tom Yom soup.
Please check how much theyβre charging you. I ordered over the phone and the price they asked me for at the register was $10 over what it shouldβve been on a $30 order. That is very sketchy in my book, unfortunately I will not be back.
As a professional foodie, I have traveled length & breadth of Thailand several times and Siam Splendor βοΈ all boxes. How I wish the ambience was amped up so that I could use this place for events & celebrations.
Awesome!!! After a long time we found authentic tasting Thai food.
Easy parking, very clean and friendly service. Very elaborate menu, lots of variety vof salads, entres and dessert dishes.
We tried Massaman curry, spicy green curry and Red curry. All of them came at the requested spice levels.
We also ordered a noodle dish with chicken. It was slightly more sweet then desired.
Sticky rice dessert with coconut custard won our hearts.
Overall very pleasant experience. We highly recommend it you will not regret.
Been going to this Restaurant for year's and the food and the service is always great. I love this place.....
Always great food.
I have been looking for a Thai place close to my home and I found it! The food is fresh and the portions are good for sharing. Delicious eating!
Excellent shrimp spring rolls. A trifle expensive though.
We arrived at 20:20 on Monday, but we was told the restaurant is closed. This is waste of my time. If their closing time is actually earlier than they show, I think they'd be better off putting the actual opening hours on a Google map rather than letting customers run for nothing.
I've been to most or maybe all of the Thai restaurants in Evanston and this one is the most flavorful by far. I'll definitely be coming here again and again and again. Probably the best Tom Yum soup I've ever had.
4.2 stars...Reasonably priced Thai. Small storefront with shared parking. Handicapped spaces in front. All dishes we had were scrumptious. Satay was well seasoned and prepared. Noodle dishes and rice dishes were enjoyed by our group. Thai Iced tea always helps one enjoy the contrasting flavors and textures.
"I don't know which one to eat I like both of them!"
The best Thai food Iβve had
Went here with my mom and daughter. The different variety of food dishes we ordered were delicious. The food was fresh and tasty every single dish. I found the prices to be rather reasonable. Love this restaurant definitely worth our visit. Fast, friendly service highly recommend.
Great service, food, and tea
Good value and consistently authentic food. Our go-to Thai takeout place. Before covid we enjoyed the lunch buffet but the restaurant is now much smaller and so does not offer the buffet.
Had the most fresh and delicious papaya salad there! Had a lovely lime flavor and were quick with the order.
Great food and service!
Their Tom Yum Splendor soup is one of my favorite happy foods.
This is the best Thai food Iβve ever had in my life! I wish I lived closer bc I would eat this weekly if I could. Instead itβs saved for special holidays like Christmas and Birthdays and anytime Iβm in Evanston.
My family has been coming here for decades and itβs always a joy. The prices are fair, the portions are big, the flavors are delicious, the food is so fresh, and the owners are incredibly friendly. I tell everyone who likes Thai flavors to come here. I have been searching for comparable Thai food forever and it just doesnβt exist, this place is it!
We love to get the lime chicken, the pad Thai, the nam sod, drunken noodle, pad se iew, Tom Ka khai , kari puffs, Panang curry, basil beef, and coconut rice (not always at the same time haha). The meat, poultry, and tofu are always high quality and a pleasing texture. They have never ever gotten our to go order wrong either, which is invaluable in these times where weβre doing carry out so much more than in the past.
Khao soi reminded me of what I had while in northern Thailand- absolutely delicious!
Not having buffet is a big no
Great food! Cooked fresh. I always get to go and they get the order correct.
Very nice family run business.
I did notice a one star review from a customer, I looked into her history of reviews, and all I can say is, if your giving a one star review, why is every other review 4-5 stars? Well clearly she knows nothing about reviewing or Thai Food.
I will I could review her and give her one star for being so odious to a good family run restaurant!
Parolee Davis! Your a muppet.
Anyway great place!
Very wonderful food! The Chicken Satay and Pad Thai were cooked to perfection and the Peanut Sauce was delicious as well. Friendly staff who are very welcoming to first timers. Reasonable prices on all food items. I highly recommend giving this place a try.
Best Thai food. Amazing green curry, drunken noodles and chicken skewers. Lot of choices on the menu.
Always excellent and delicious. We used to live nearby, now we live out of state. Whenever we are in town, we always make a point to stop here.
Had the pad sie eiw. So good!! And enough leftovers for a second lunch.
Just so unbelievably fresh and authentic
Love this place and it's amazing staff! Delightful to be able to eat in again! :)
The food is absolutely delicious and the service excellent!
Thank you. Dr. Nealy you are very professional. You know exactly how to make my back feel better.
Always delicious, super consistent, and very friendly staff! So highly recommended!!
Absolutely delicious food, absolutely worth the wait. I called ahead to order and still had to wait while they fulfilled other customersβ orders, so I suggest building in extra time ahead for your food.
They are busy for a reason. They have DELICIOUS FOOOOD.
Just making a review to remind myself not to order from here. I got what I expected to be basil rice and it has pineapple in it. Not a fan. My husband got green curry and while it is a nice amount of spicy, the flavor is off. Not a fan.
I absolutely love this restaurant! Everything I have ordered has been cooked so well. Iβve recommended this place to so many. Itβs my favorite restaurant to get Thai food from in Evanston. They are very friendly and always get my order right.
I work in Evanston and would always go to the lunch buffet with my coworkers. You definitely get your bang for your buck and all the food is delicious! Have also ordered out many times and the food is ready quickly and they have never gotten any part of my order wrong. Definitely authentic Thai dishes and lots of options to choose from, you canβt go wrong.
Great quality food. Even something as humble as fried wontons tastes better than competitors. Better quality ingredients? Friendly staff. All employees were wearing masks (which hasn't been the case at some other takeout restaurants I've visited during covid).
Best Thai iced tea I've had so far. Their food was great. The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is because the gave me chicken instead of pork in my Thai curry but still pretty decent.
Fantastic
Authentic Thai food, and if you want it spicy it can be really spicy.
Really enjoyed their Spicy Nam Sod salad.
Tried multiple Thai restaurants in the area and this one is by far the best! Drunken noodles are very flavorful and have just the right amount of spice (i like them spicy but you can order them mild or medium too).
Service is always prompt and efficient at Siam Splendour and they always get my order right.
I love the splendour crab stocks, and the panang curry with chicken was also excellent.
Great food!
I've lived in Thailand, and I've got to say, this food seems authentic to me. The food is absolutely delicious and underrated. Everyone in Evanston has got to try this place out! I've ordered the Pad See Yew and a panang curry noodle soup, and they were both absolutely wonderful. When ordering spice, understand that this place is authentic, and order true to how much spice you can actually take.
Absolutely fantastic Thai food that is all made fresh to order with exquisite flavor profiles that combine beautifully. I had three soft Raf Nar flat noodles which the hostess graciously offered to serve with mixed vegetables. My wife had a wonderful grilled curry chicken served with a mango salad that filled our taste buds. Just a wonderful meal. We just moved back into the area after being away for five years and this is going to be one of our go to places.
This place is highly underrated, especially if you have the NU discount! Good value, great food portions, and high quality food! I've been going for a few years, and they rarely disappoint. Support small business!
Food is pretty good but the place is dusty.
Good buffet
Food here is great. But for more than once, I've been waiting my cooked rice for more than 30 mins while everyone ordered before me have been served. Nothing to complain about their food, but I nearly got frustrated for several times.
The food was good, the price reasonable.
We ordered through door dash and enjoyed the food SO much. We recently repatriated from Thailand so this was a very welcome treat! The food was delicious and reasonably authentic. Portion sizes were ample. Some of the food was very spicy, even what was ordered mild. But that was ok by us! Weβll be eating from here again.
Some of the most authentic Thai food, Iβve ever had. Great food and service. Recommend sitting down and eating at the restaurant.
I always come here for a quick bite during the lunch buffet and was in general very happy with it. But today they were out of food for almost half an hourβI mean, literally only serving rice. And the waitress does not come to change your plates or refill the drinks. Several high school kids came in and had absolutely nothing to eat. Terrible experience and will not come again.
Great food, good price, nice staff. Recommended! I would only add that they need to add natural juices to their menu.
I loved the food and the overall experience of dinning. The staff was very helpful, she guided us well and made sure we get what we asked for. I ordered pad thai and basil fried rice , both in Vegetarian option and it was very tasty.
Not as expected. Food so-so. Wouldn't go again. People there nice though.
Best Thai food in Chicago!
Actual Thai food by actual Thai people. I have been coming here for years. Amazing place. I cannot highly recommend it enough. Always make sure to dine in, the portions are hearty and full. The flavors are true, and I love the fact that I see Thai grandmothers in the kitchen.
Authentic and delicious Thai food! Was there a few weeks back with a friend and we both enjoyed the food very much.
Great service. Food was fresh, at the right temperature and full flavored
Their lime chicken is to die for! Our go to for Thai takeout
