Casual Thai and Sushi restaurant offering dine-in, carry-out and delivery with wide selection of beer, wine, and cocktails.
We had an absolute feast! We ordered: a Roku Gin Martini, 2 Play Hard Seltzers, a bottle of Saki, a glass of plum wine, crispy tofu, potstickers, and 4 different sushi rolls(Snow White, Farmer's Market, Philly, and the Futo Maki). It was all absolutely delicious and fresh! The service was fast and friendly, and we enjoyed our time here very much. This is a fantastic place to eat before an event at the United Center. I highly recommend it!!!!!
This is one of my favorite places! The vibe here is Thai, and the food is absolutely delicious and tempting. The taste never disappoints, and they have a great selection of vegetarian options. If you're three people, I recommend starting with the veg gyoza and crispy tofu as appetizers. For sushi, the farmers market roll is a must-try for its incredible flavors. And finally, for the main course, I suggest trying the pad thai with tofu and the red curry with a variety of veggies. The staff here is really friendly and helpful when it comes to navigating the menu.
We made reservations for early dinner on a Friday night but really didn't need them. It was empty just before six. I was there with my family of four, baby in a carrier and the staff was very accommodating. I've been here several times before, the Pad Thai never disappoints. We ordered veggie soup for my daughter and the broth was delish. We also ordered a few rolls, the shrimp tempura and spicy salmon were our faves. The dimly lit space is very romantic, but casual enough for families. We will be back again!
By far my favorite Thai restaurant I have been to, and I’ve been to many in Chicago and all over the US. Great ambience, atmosphere, service for dining in. I also order takeout from here often, and the food is consistently a 10/10. Highly recommend! My personal favorites are Pad See Ew with shrimp and Karee curry with chicken.
We had one of the worst experiences here. I went with my family, and we were very disappointed with both the food and service. The food was cold, lacked seasoning, and we had to search for the waiter, who was sitting behind the counter instead of attending to customers. Because of this, we decided not to leave a tip. However, a male waiter followed us outside to our car, harassing us about why we didn’t tip. We explained that we were dissatisfied with both the food and service. I would not recommend this place to anyone. If you do go, don’t leave a tip for such behavior—maybe then they’ll understand.
Cucumber salad and rama chicken 👍🏻👍🏻
Excellent restaurant. The soup was amazing 🤩

This is the best restaurant in Chicago. If you love Thai food, you need to come here, and if you've never tried it, you must. I promise it will become your favorite restaurant in town. The food is delicious, and I highly recommend it.
Legit Thai and sushi spot. Reasonably priced, great selection of beers and mixed drinks. Anytime I’m in the area will def come back.
This place seems dirty. Smells really bad, especially the bathroom (urine)🤢

It’s the first food I found on my Chicago trip that really made me happy and feel good. I can definitely recommend.
My favorite Thai place to visit in the west loop area. Food is great, price is reasonable, and they accommodate many allergies.

Staff was so sweet and accommodating to a dietary restriction! Delicious!
Chinese was my favorite until I had Thai at Talay! Everything is so flavorful, fresh AND DELICIOUS! Just wow 👌 This place is amazing. I love that it is quaint and the ambience is really enjoyable. The lighting is a little too low for me but great for romantic dates and the Playlist is awesome :) my new favorite place! Thank you for the positive experience every time we've been back it never disappoints.
Vegan menu!!!! If you eat dairy free this place is for you! Also amazing food regardless the
Ingrédients frais, portions généreuses et bon service !
Talay is my go-to for Thai food in the neighborhood ! The Rama Tofu is incredible, and any of the noodle dishes are an amazing pick as well. Presentation and taste are always impeccable. The staff is friendly and the vibe is calm, making it great for both a relaxing dine-in experience or a quick takeout.
Neighborhood spot by my house that is always consistency providing great food, great service, and delivery and pick up orders at a reasonable time frame.
Don’t come here if u don’t like prejudice waitress staff hovering over your table spying on you as if ur gonna do something illegal.
Great Thai and Sushi
From the first step inside this building you are able to tell that it is LEGIT. From the smells to all the decor and mood lighting this place is perfect. Service is some of the best and the food is the best Thai you will ever have!
Talay comes with great reviews for a reason. I’ve never had Kao Soy. A friend recommended it and Talay’s version was fantastic! The ambiance is a perfect retreat from the otherwise bustling area of Chicago and the food came out surprisingly quick, albeit we ate after the dinner rush.

An enjoyable place to eat.
By far the best sushi for takeout in Chicago. We order it every week and it never disappoints. The spicy tuna avocado roll and the caterpillar roll are stand outs.
Great food. Having desert options would have made it better. 👍🏽
Very nice place
Great atmosphere I very nice service
Chicken Satay superb
Crab ragoon very good
Pad thai beef very good
Sushi great quality rice
Only Tom Yum soup to much onion and to sour
You need add some sweetenes and spice
I will be back over there for aure
Food was just ok — got the garlic noodles with chicken, Tom yum soup, and tofu pad Thai to share. Nothing was wrong per se but mediocre flavor/overall just not that good which was a little disappointing considering the number of good reviews. Service was nice though

Best sushi in Chicago! Try the Emerald Crunch if you're looking for a textured spin. Definitely ordering it as a new staple.
The service and atmosphere were fantastic. My apps tasted great, but my Lad Nar was surprisingly bland with overcooked noodles. The veggies in it were pretty fresh, though.
Quick service and tasty food. I appreciate the vegetarian and vegan options, as well as the different spice levels.
The food came out quickly and was very tasty! Their mild wasn't too spicy. We loved everything we ordered, especially the edamame and curries.
Friendly staff. Streamlined and swift takeaway service. Delicious food. Cozy dining room. A bit pricey...but everything is now.
I love this place the food is excellent...
Absolutely incredible Asian Cuisine. Delicious Sushi🍣, appetizers, and the most fresh entres I have had in a long time. Will be back every time I am in town. Thanks for the quality food and excellent service!!
When me and my Fiancé got to the restaurant we were greeted by the manager , he informed me that he was low on staff but will be happy to take care of us and that he did. He was really thoughtful and very on top of everything. He managed to take care of us and seat a lot of other ppl coming in as well as help behind the counter with his employees on food and drinks without forgetting anyone. The food was very good and you received a lot of it for the money spent. The shrimp dumplings 🥟 were OMG, he even showed concern with my Fiancé as he wasn’t feeling to hot that day. I was pleased and so was he. We both will be bk very soon… I don’t even write reviews but this one was well deserved.🥰 Thank You so much.
Great food. Large portions.
The Pad Thai was excellent. 👌
The BEST, has been for years!!
Tom yum was amazing. One of the best I've had. Basil fried rice, spicy and hot the spot. Wife and I loved it. Would definitely be back.
Great, cozy atmosphere. Service was wonderful and attentive. Wasn't really busy for a Monday night, but there were lots of to go orders. The veggies in my Panang curry were fresh and flavorful, rice was cooked perfectly. Serving size was very generous. Very pleased overall with the experience.
Talay is a rock solid place to enjoy fresh, clean Thai food and sushi. I ordered the veggie pot stickers (9 rating) along with the spicy tuna and avacodo roll, maguro nigiri, salmon nigiri and yellowtail tuna nigiri. The prices where a little high but when they come out I could see why. Very healthy portions and the fish was super fresh and high quality. The servers very attentive and friendly. I will be back to try some Thai dishes - the Pad Kee Mao looked delicious along with the Phangan noodles!!! I got my 👀 on you!!!
Ordered the Seafood Curry. The red spicy curry was delicious! Full of flavor and just the right amount of kick. Servers were accommodating. I would definitely visit again.
The food was excellent. My server was very polite, kind and treated us with much respect from the time we walked in to the time.we walked out. The prices were pretty decent. I definitely will ne going back
This thai food and sushi was absolutely incredible. Clay took great care of us and I will certainly be coming back very frequently. I especially loved the Rama Chicken!! Everything was yummy. Love this place!
Service was quick and there's pleasant as could be, and being something of a Thai food enthusiast, I could not have been more pleased after stumbling on this restaurant
Wonderful little Thai restaurant with a small vegan menu and some delicious drinks. Our server Jan was very helpful and gave us a vegan menu when we told her we are vegetarian. She explained that certain dishes have the fish sauce that we should avoid. We got an app, a Pad Thai, a vegan maki roll and 2 drinks.... Plenty of food for two people. The lychee martini was delicious! All in was like $70, which is typical for west loop.
Jan at Talay took excellent care of us when we mentioned we were vegetarian. We had the Futo maki, crispy tofu and Tofu Pad Thai. Everything was well flavored and the food almost didn’t need any additional sauces. Would come again for the futo maki and pad thai!
Lovely Thai restaurant in West Loop! The food was fresh and the portion sizes were generous. I appreciate that the Thai entrees included rice unlike other restaurants I’ve been to lately. Service was great and we were seated quickly on a Saturday. The menu includes both sushi and Thai dishes.
The basil fried rice and red curry were so tasty!!! The red curry was so flavorful and it wasn’t too spicy. But if you really like spice they have red chili flakes so you can make it as spicy as you’d like!
This was the first time my husband and I went. The staff was super friendly as soon as we walked in. We are not huge sushi people but we decided to try the king kong roll. It was amazing especially if you like the crunch from tempera. We will get that again for sure. The Midori sour was excellent. Talay just became our favorite Thai restaurant in West Loop.
Buena comida, lo pase bien.
Ordered for delivery. Everything was delicious and it showed up faster than expected.
The place is super cozy and adorable, and the food was too good. I went with my family there, and we all loved it very much. The service there was exceptional. All the people in Talay were very friendly and efficient. This is my new favorite restaurant, for sure!!
We ordered sushi specials dragon, Godzilla and orange chicken.
I liked Godzilla and didn’t try dragon because it had fish skin on it. I didn’t like how they packed orange chicken. Chicken and orange sauce were separate. Even for take out services, I think they could’ve been served chicken marinated in orange sauce.
Would probably order again from here.
I love going to this place, one of my all time favorites!! Almost all of their dishes are great and the service is pretty quick.
Good takeout option in the immediate area.
Not Vegetarian Friendly. When I asked the waiter about the red curry, he said there was no fish sauce, so I ordered it. However when the plate arrived, it had a very strong fish odor. I gave the dish back because I can't eat fish, and ordered a basil fried rice instead. Was still charged for the red curry even though I didn't eat it and had even tried to clarify my no-fish requirement before ordering.
Super delicious especially the Pad Thai and sushi selection. Nice staff and a good variety of sushi. One of our new “go to” restaurants.
The green curry is way too sweet for me, consistency is too thin, and it has a stinky sweet smell. So more of an americanized version. The Thai fried rice was good but its missing something. Also i feel like none of the vegetables In anything are actually cooked, they’re still kind of raw so keep in mind if you like that kind of thing. They have the basic dishes for a craving. The staff is nice and the place was cute. I would go back for the thai fried rice and maybe see if they can make the curry less sweet.
Really fast, good food.
Quit atmosphere, quality food, and quick service.
Talay is amazing! Freshest fish, explosion of flavors, and the sweetest, kindest owners! This is probably the best sushi in the city :) We love this place and our neighbors!!
Best pad thai of our lives!
I was absolutely blown away. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was amazing. The staff was friendly and accommodating and the decor was modern and inviting. The menu was full of delicious options, and I especially loved the Pad Thai. Everything was cooked to perfection, and the flavors were amazing. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a great Thai experience.
Ok at best. Food was bland and sushi rolls were poor
Sushi is always so fresh and delicious! I’ve done both dine in and take out, always satisfied with the result. The restaurant itself is very causal and friendly for a date night!
I love the green curry!
Not authentic at all, but the food is still pretty tasty.
I didn't get any of the sushi, but many other reviews mention it so it might be worth trying.
Food taste need to be improved. Do not try food here. Gave multiple attempts 1 star is for restaurant interior
Bad food, chef doesn’t know how to make red curry with proper consistency as it was super watery. Server literally started arguing
The food is good, but it is NOT BYOB anymore. They charged us $20 corkage.
Delicious Thai food :)
They were super helpful and careful in making the sushi I ordered gluten free. Much appreciated!
Such nice owners, great food, and awesome plants!
Great food & service !
The pad Thai lacked flavor. :/ I’m sure it would be good if it had more flavor
We love Talay, weve been ordering for the last 7 years amd cant get enough of it!.
A family owned restaurant
Mike & Tim (Wipãlet) offer an authentic yet approachable menu.
Their Thai selection is great and their sushi menu is delishious too.
Our absolutely favorite dishes are thrir Green Papaya Salad, Tiger Cry, Tom Youm Soup, Pad Wonsen Spicy and Pad See Ew with Beef, Spicy Tuna Roll and Hamachi Crunch.
Basil fried rice and pad see ew are both amazing!
They have very good Thai food ranging from Pad Sew, Pad Thai to Curry. We enjoyed every dish of Thai food but for Sushi wise, it doesn't taste that good compared to other Japanese restaurants in the area so there is still room to improve.
Excellent food and people highly recommend.
We got the Farmers Market roll and the Godzilla. We also got the Kao Soy. Everything was SO good. The wait staff was quick and friendly. Would definitely come again. Thanks, Talay!
Excellent and authentic Thai food.
Delicious food! Fast take out! Would highly recommend!
I’ve never had a bad experience at Talay. Whether it’s take out, delivery, or dining in, the food is 100% perfect every time. It has quickly become my fiancé and I’s favorite place for sushi or Thai food in all of Chicago! Fully recommend dining in so you can experience the wonderful wait staff as well.
This was a pleasant find for an evening dinner. The sushi rolls were amazing! Would definitely recommend the Talay Crunch roll. We loved the presentation and artwork they did with the sauces on the serving board too!
Always amazing!
best tiger cry app & noodle entree ive ever had in my life
This place rules. Family owned, very authentic with all around solid Thai food, and Sushi!
Hands down the best Thai food in Chicago. We got the farmers market roll as well as the Godzilla roll and I’m pretty sure my wife died and went to Heaven after tasting it. The owners and their family are the sweetest people you will ever talk to! Constantly asking if you need anything, best recommendations, and super helpful when it came to diet restrictions. I could keep going on and on but seriously come and try it yourself.
Great Thai food. Had the Pad See Eiw with wide noodles and brocolli. Had 3 level heat. It was just the right amount of spice and I like spicy food. Also had the Pad Saparot with chicken and brown rice. Also very good with plenty of vegetables. Had sushi here once. Would say that was average, but the Thai food was awesome.
Food is good but the waitresses don't think. They don't give you utensils for carryout. Understand everybody is not going home.
Typical Americanized pan-asian muddle. Thai too sweet. Didn't try the sushi. Cheap drinks.
Sushi is surprisingly good, the tuna lover is amazing, but it costs me $18ish for 8 pieces. My friends and my kid, 4 person, $120.
Today was my first time trying Talay. I did an order for takeout. The food was excellent!!!! I will definitely be ordering from here again!!! I live in the suburbs and after trying this place I wish they had a location where I live!!!!
This place is AWESOME!!
Pad sie ew and vegetable maki were amazing to go
This was my first time ever having sushi and it was fantastic! I got the Hot Sea sushi roll. The wait time was short, the plating was fantastic, the cross section was beautiful! Such a great first time experience having sushi. If you’re new to sushi, the Hot Sea roll at Talay is where it is at. I can’t wait to go back.
Great Quality food. Friendly staff. Good sushi and Fried rice. Very very recommended if you are in West Loop
Sushi is extremely fresh and the service was excellent. We were a large group so we all ordered different sushi and they served it family style.
The best in town!! Hands down they have the Best peanut sauce in rown!
Whenever I’m in the mood for Thai food, I place an order at Talay. They are very consistent with their food and it’s always delicious. I have always ordered takeout via their website. They have a great range of options, including many vegetarian items. I usually request my items without peanuts on top, and they’ve always obliged. I’d highly recommend adding Talay to your local list of restaurants for takeout in the West Loop.
Excellent experience. Friendly waitstaff and the Tom Kha chicken soup was a refreshing change of flavors.
Never had a bad dish here. I’ve had Thai and Sushi. Take out is always correct. Friendly staff would highly recommend
Have always had great experiences at Talay both for dine in and take out! My husband and I love ordering extra for leftovers. Good food and service. Love this neighborhood spot.
Delicious thai food in West Loop area!
I am so happy I found Talay. The sushi is amazing - it's the best sushi spot I've been to in West Loop. Definitely going to be a repeat customer here!
Good ambiance, delicious food, courteous staff.
Delicious food! Great amount of options and the service was awesome.
Best sushi in west loop
Buena comida se los recomiendo
Food is very tastes and great Service. Nice place to go with family and friends
Excellent food with big portions, polite staff, beautiful restaurant. I will be back and I encourage everyone to visit.
Good food and service and ambience. I ordered a vegetarian yellow curry. The taste was great but the eggplants(always and also) in the dish needed to be pan fried or caramelized. They were just sliced and added and cooked in the sauce. That took away from the flavor of the dish.
Great food and fast service. Variety of menu choices. We were in a hurry so they did great accommodating us and felt covid safe environment. Will be back.
I love the mini egg rolls. I could just order those. I found this restaurant walking home from work and now I’m there once a week. I went there initially to buy some Tom Kha soup. I liked it enough to go back and that’s when it started. A week ago I purchased dinner. It went over well with the fam.
This restaurant has high quality food, high quality service, & beautiful presentation. They also give a decent quantity of food for the price and is relatively easy to park close by. I think this will be my new favorite spot and I will definitely be frequenting this place much more often
We received edamame as a bonus which was a nice surprise! We ordered the Pad Thai with chicken, which did not disappoint! We asked for medium spicy with extra Thai chili sauce on the side, but we didn't really need it. That's okay, I can use it for a dipping sauce! Next time I will just order medium spice though.
I ordered California & Spring Rolls along with Tofu Spicy Pad Thai. I'm not a huge fan of either rolls but OMG the Tofu Spicy Pad Thai is to live for! :)
My friend and I were obsessed with Siam Thai when it was in Park Ridge and were devastated when it closed. Luckily, we found that it just relocated in West loop!! We ordered from it last night and everything was perfect from the taste, price, and portion sizes. Our favorites are the Karee Yellow Curry, Pad See Eiw, and Siam Chicken! This place is our main thai take out from here on out. 10/10!
Talay is a diamond in the rough. It’s reasonably priced and consistently great every time. We order the Talay Crunch and love their sushi. Definitely worth a shot and appreciate the service!
Fast and reliable. Love the beef salad.
Sushi is the best
Been my go to sushi spot during the pandemic. Rolls are big. Good value. Also have ordered noodle dishes and there is a lot of food.
Wonderful service and tasty food! I was recommended by a friend a while ago and have been back every week since.
Great sushi
Great little spot! You can tell they use quality ingredients and they give you a ton. We ordered 2 curries, and there was so much chicken and noodles. Sushi was great too!
Great food. Great presentation. Everything made fresh from scratch at a fair price. Would definitely go back.
I have never had a bad experience. Food is great and the owners are as well!
