Welcome to R- Haan Thai Restaurant. We would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to your home to great combination of Thai dishes. We serve only the freshest and finest ingredients.
Pad Thai was very good and the only thing worthy of the 4.9 star overall reviews they have. Tom yum soup just tasted like spice chicken soup with tomatoes and we were very upset. We also ordered panang curry which was solid at best. Smelled like a bathroom in the restaurant, the restaurant is super tiny and deceiving from the pictures. The young lady at the front was super friendly.
Ordered takeaway Pad Thai, Shumai and Chicken Satay.
The restaurant lets you specify how hot you want your spicing to be. We specified a "1," which was a perfect mild but not bland level of spice.
Portions were generous, Pad Thai exactly as expected (thank you!), Shumai a bit smaller than expected, but tasty, and Chicken Satay nicely charred and spiced.
The restaurant is small with limited street parking, indoor and outdoor seating.
It is well worth a visit, and we hope to return soon.
Our go to Thai restaurant! Food is always great, served relatively fast and the staff are some of the nicest people you’ll come across! I love the Tom yum soup #2 spicy. We switch up what we order but will always get the fried tofu and dumplings no matter what. We mostly do take out but occasionally will dine in.
We ordered 8 dishes between Pepper steak, 3 different fried rices, and 4 different noodles. All were tasty delicious. However, the beef quality needs some improvement to make it more tender. This place has a couple of tables for dine in, but mainly for take out since there is no parking available other than street parking. It is highly recommended if you are craving Thai food while supporting local business.
After 3 years in the area finally made it to this cute restaurant in the neighborhood. I ordered pad Thai (I know basic ) but I was craving it and hubby beef salad plus we got a tom yum soup. Price was very reasonable and the food was very taste. Our service she was so cute, she look like one of the NewJean singer (kpop) will definitely be back, a hidden gem in west ridge.

Made reservations with this restaurant. We came in at the requested time, and were refused service because the wrong time was written down.
It was delicious 😋
Honestly the food was really tasty aside from the fact that their highest level of spice on the curry was not particularly spicy.
But the reason I won't go back and the reason that I'm writing this review is just like extremely comical levels of stinginess when it comes to extras. Condiment container for the dumplings less than 1/4 of the way filled. Not enough rice for even half the curry. Rice and soy sauce is cheap as hell dudes, you can afford to give your customers a full portion and not make me have to make my own rice to eat the takeout I ordered from your restaurant.
Fantastic place for dining
Really good food. This has become our go-to neighborhood Thai place. Best experienced as order ahead and pick up as the seating area is tiny and between the door and the main counter.
Best red curry I’ve had in the city. The atmosphere is very cute, too. Love this place!
Probably one of the best services I’ve ever had! The food was amazing and the server was great! I went with my friend and we couldn’t even stop to breathe because the food we were eating was so good! Everyone was welcoming and friendly! Would definitely come back again!
Our new favorite Thai place. Everything I've ever ordered here has been amazing. Highly recommend the chive dumplings, moo ping, tom kha and chicken larb

Pad Thai chicken tasted good as expected.
Papaya salad was yummy !
Will be back.
Food was spectacular and service was very thoughtful and friendly
They always have amazing food, there are at least 5 Thai places by me but R Haan is always the best!!!
Everything was fresh and flavorful. Cute and clean place. Lots of parking nearby too. Highly recommended
Small but nice seats. Food snf service excellent
Nice tasty.
My favorite place to go for Thai food for lunch because our office is close by! The place is small but the food is delicious!

We live very close by and were so excited to discover we have one of the tastiest Thai spots in the city within walking distance. Only give the atmosphere 4 stars because it's a teeny tiny restaurant but it's comfortable and when the weather is nice, their patio is cute! But we typically do takeout since it's so easy and close by. The owners and everyone who works there has always been friendly and kind. Highly recommend.
The best Thai I've had in Chicago and the customer service is amazing. I live within walking distance of this spot and kept meaning to try it. New Year's Day I place an online order and walk over, except it's closed. Walking home I get an email my order is being prepared; I call to see if they're open and they couldn't have been nicer. They were opening later in the afternoon but got my order and were preparing it right now. Went back and they were super cool about the mix up and I had the freshest, piping hot, and most delicious Thai I've had in Chicago. Will definitely be a future go-to spot. The Tom Kha was hands down the best I've had.
Amazing food highly recommended
We order take out from here at least once a week and it’s always on time/early. The delivery drives are super nice and the food, omg, always CONSISTENTLY great.
I have had the Pad Thai, Pad see new papya salad all really good. Today I tried the cashew chicken. It was delicious!!! I have a new fav!
I can’t say enough positive things about this place. The owner and the waiters are among the nicest people I know in Chicago. Their papaya salad is my personal favorite! The bubble teas are delicious too! Do not hesitate to come in.
Ordered moo ping, pad thai, tom kha soup and green curry from Uber Eats. Food was super delicious and warm. The only downside was the pad thai, which got a little dry by the time we ate it, but we definitely give it the benefit of the doubt since it had to travel quite a distance. Overall, we really like the food because it tastes more natural, more home-cooking than many other Thai restaurants in Chicago. We will order again!
Authentic Thai Food. Family owned business. Everything on the menu is so damn good!!!
I love this place. Everything I have tried is great. I especially love the cashew chicken and pad see ew.
Thai iced tea and pad thai are good asl
I've never been to Thailand, but I have to assume this place is the kind of restaraunt you'd find there. There's another level of sophistication to the food that you won't find elsewhere in Chicago, outside of a few restaraunts. Everything we ate was awesome, and the flavors were very prominent. The crab rangoon was cooked excellently, and I agree with other reviewers that this is the best crab rangoon you're likely to find.
All in all, I'd heavily recommend getting food from R Hann Thai.
Really amazing food!
This place has to be the best Thai restaurant I've ever tried in the city of Chicago, including its suburbs. I try something new here regularly and am never disappointed. Their red curry is TO DIE FOR
Great food & wonderful service. Nice indoor & outdoor seating areas. I had the green curry & it was delicious. Other people with me had the basil fried rice & the broccoli beef, both of them enjoyed their food very much as well.
Got the pork belly, papaya salad, and pad thai and they were all great. Very flavorful! Portions are pretty good, 1 app and 1 entree is more than enough food. Would highly recommend it!!
I love this place. The food is so good. The service is great. I'm so glad it's near my home. I always order pick up from their website.
My absolute favorite Thai place to go too during my lunch breaks. It's definitely a small place but the staff is always friendly and the food tastes fantastic. The plus side is it's not oily/greasy either!
Great food and great service. Will definitely go back.
This is a cute and delicious spot! The coconut soup (Tom Kha) was the tastiest I ever had! No heavy flavors but it was bright and fresh and so light yet creamy. Perfect. The pad thai was tasty and presented very well. The cashew chicken looked beautiful and the veggies in it were really fresh. The cokes were cheap and the Thai iced tea was huge. The waiter was kind and friendly and made sure we liked our food (asked if the spice level was okay) and that we didn’t need anything else. Definitely coming back.
Delicious
We ordered 8 dishes between Pepper steak, 3 different fried rices, and 4 different noodles. All were tasty delicious. However, the beef quality needs some improvement to make it more tender. Amazing food! I ordered many items off the menu ( we were super hungry with my friend) and there wasn’t a single thing we could complain about!
Genuine That flavors!
Highly recommend!
Had the Pad Thai and egg rolls. Both were very good. Would happily order again bit will also looking forward to trying other dishes from their menu. Very small place; only a handful of tables. Everything looked very clean. I ordered takeout at was told it would be avout 10 minutes. I was offered water and a place to wait inside but decided to wait in my car stating that I'll come back in. 6 minutes later the owner(?) was outside to bring me my order. Much appreciated that extra effort.
My new favorite Thai restaurant. I will definitely be back. The best Tom Yum I’ve ever had.
Hands down the greatest Thai restaurant in Chicago! Small cozy and top notch food. Very clean place and portions are just right! Will definitely come back!
Very good food, very nice people - as soon as we tried it this became our go-to Thai place, eat here at least 1-2 times/week.
I picked up the order and was pleased with the kind and friendly service. The food was delicious - vegetables fresh and everything wonderfully flavorful.
I recently stopped by here on my way from Intense Oud(literally across the street) and had their lunch special(I’m talking like $11-12 special). But don’t let the prices deter you from going. I tried the basil fried rice and crab Rangoon and I loved it. It’s a small restaurant so if it’s busy you might have to wait to be seated but definitely worth the wait…..
Very good curry, great pad see ew, beef and broccoli was delicious, appetizers were appetizing, go eat outside while the weather lets you, you’ll be happy!
Absolutely great in everything. Clean, good food and service. I understand and appreciate this small business. Well done!
Delicious food, wonderful service. Real A+. Definitely recommend and my new favorite Thai place!
First time here, everything was amazing! Service was stellar. Food was very tasteful and I love their Thai ice tea. Perfect and I would recommend everyone!
I had the Chicken Pad Thai and Crab Rangoon. THE BEST crab Rangoon I’ve ever had! The chicken pad Thai was sooo good as well. I would definitely recommend any and everyone to this establishment.
I will say for the pad thai I got spice level 1. The spice was definitely noticed. So if you’re not a true spice lover I’d recommend against it. That’s the only thing I can say.
As the first place I chose to eat in Chicago, this sets a very high bar for other restaurants to meet. I recommend the Moo Ping and the Garlic Chicken, personally, but if they're anything to go by you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Absolutely delicious.
Muy sabroso todo
We are vegetarians, so far we have visited this place 5,6 times, now we don’t feel like going any other Thai place. Absolutely delicious food, very fresh, no smell of any kind of fish sauce, excellent service, Lots of vegetarian choices, good portion, very reasonable price.
Actually this is the only restaurant where customer is always right, they actually pay attention to customer’s likings.
Very clean and neat, welcoming place. I wish them good luck.
Excellent food, staff is super friendly and patient. Small setting...seats only about 10-12 people max. BYOB as well! Plenty of street parking available.
WOW! The best Thai food we’ve had in Chicago. We were skeptical on trying it, because we’ve always had sub-par Thai. (All the Thai Restaurant on Western). Support them, supper tiny place putting out the most amazing food. We ordered TomYum soup, Basil Leaf Chicken, Papaya Salad & Tropical Fried Rice. I’d never try Tropical Fried Rice but my husband instead. OMG!!!! Delicious! All of the vegetables were fresh and crunchy. Not frozen vegetables here. We will be regulars. Photos next time. 10 ⭐️ if I could.
Good food and fair prices.
delicious
my coworkers and I are obsessed with this restaurant. so far we’ve tried the tom yum, tom kha, curry puffs and pad thai and will try the entire menu in due course. spice levels are legit
After fourth time eating here all I can say is.
Quality, consistency, tasty, Bangkok restaurant style.
Excellent, fresh Thai with substantial portions and authentic flavor. We have a number of food allergies and the restaurant was attentive and accommodating. We've been looking for great Thai since moving to the northwest side and haven't had any luck until we found R Haan. Highly recommend this gem - fantastic green curry with shrimp and the Pad Thai was some of the more flavorful we've had in a long long time.
The food was excellent! We took out, there is not a lot of space to sit. everything was delicious, we really liked the garlic chicken. Great to have a good Thai pace in the neighborhood. We'll definitely be coming back.
My first time ordering from here.
I have to say it is absolutely delicious!
I had the pad Thai curry puffs and the shumai.
The curry puffs are amazing!
What I nice little gem! Food is fresh and delicious 😋! Service is fast and friendly. The menu is a bit small, but so is the place.
Excellent food and service at a reasonable prices. I recommend checking it out.
Ordered the fried rice with chicken it had very good flavor . Everything was beautifully plated fresh and very tasty ! I will definitely go back !
The absolute best Thai food that I have ever had the pleasure of eating, and for an insanely good price as well! Absolutely visit this place, it deserves a lot of attention
Yeah, this is good and tasty!
I was driving around the neighborhood with some friends and we want thai food..... I google a Thai restaurant near me... surprise we found R Haan Thai... we order shrimp in blanket, tom yum soup, thai fried rice, and panang curry... I can say all 5 stars... definitely I would repeat soon... nice place, cozy... friendly etc etc
Man best food ever. The food is amazing 🤩 i took my mom for her birthday she loved it.
Actually very Satisfied with all my food. First time ordering from this Restaurant and very pleased with everything I had ordered.
Curry Puff ( you can tell they are made fresh by the outer pastry. The chicken and the potato was just enough.)
Hor Mok (when I opened up the box i smelled the Curry & the Herbs. Smells just like the way they make it in Thailand. The Spice is just right and the consistency is Perfect. )
Fried Tofu (is always my favorite go to)
Moo Ping (so tasty with the sticky rice. Very moist and flavorful)
Chive Dumplings ( the outer layer was just the right Crispyness. I just wished the sauce was a bit more thicker it was a bit liquidity for my liking. )
Pad Thai Beef ( was very good. The beef was good too. Just the right amount of sauce and texture. )
I just wished they gave me some hot sauce or dried chilli on the side. I guess I have to request it next time.
Larb Gai (was good but I requested it #2 Spice. It just felt like I was eating boiled chicken with Red Onions. Wish there was more seasoning inside the dish.)
Overall, I will definitely order again from this restaurant. And If you haven't tried it. I truly do recommend to try it. It taste like true Authentic Thai Food.
Ordered last night and the food was fantastic! With the exception of the Pad Thai (which was good, but not the best we’ve ever had, though our kids did like it), we will be ordering again. Moo ping, massaman curry, veggie Thai fried rice, and the garlic chicken were absolutely delicious!!
I am so happy R Haan is here to serve up their delicious Thai menu to Peterson Park, Chicago. I highly recommend the Thai Curry Puffs that burst with flavor. We also loved the garlic chicken dish. Most of all, they master traditional Thai dishes like curry, pad se ewe, pad Thai etc. R Haan is small, and absolutely perfect for all takeout and delivery needs...you know, when craving Thai food, which is, pretty much always. Check them out.
Great fresh food at a great price
Great new neighborhood spot!
We decided to order after noticing this place was new to the neighborhood. We loved it! We did pick up- food was ready pretty quickly, and everything was delicious. Even the fried foods were good (sometimes fried foods dont deliver well). Very happy to have tried and will definitely order again- happy to support a new local small business.
I highly recommend this neighborhood gem. Absolutely delicious food. Everything was hot and fresh. I especially loved the Rama Chicken.
So good! The curry was perfectly spicy, the fried rice was delicious and all the ingredients were fresh and well cooked. So excited to have a new neighborhood Thai place and I’m sure I’ll be a regular customer now.
Their crispy pork belly, and basil leaves are my favorite! People are nice and all the food we have tried were wonderful!
