Food is delicious!

Diner Review №2

This is unfortunately the second time I’ve
Ordered beef as a protein and it’s grey, tough, no flavor.

Diner Review №3

The restaurant staff is really waste . I don’t prefer anybody to go to these restaurant. The tables are really bad and floor is dirty. There are cockroaches running all over the restaurant.

Diner Review №4

A lovely Thai restaurants with all the great hits plus others. Very fresh. You get to chose how spicy.

Diner Review №5

Potentially the best Thai food I’ve had outside of Thailand. Khao Soy and Penang curry were hits I’ll be back

Diner Review №6

Green Leaf’s crab rangoons are the best I’ve ever had! Generous filling and a lovely flaky fried exterior. The neau sa-ded appetizer is a must try! The beef had a rich smoky flavor and was extremely tender with a delicious spicy sauce.
Everything we tried was so delicious - paired with the amazing service and the ambiance of the restaurant it was a perfect meal.

Diner Review №7

Delicious, with great service! Try the Tiger Cry!

Diner Review №8

Delicious Papaya salad set! Speaking as a Thai, this is probbaly one of the most authentic Papaya salad set I have in Chicago. Highly recommend!

Diner Review №13

Nice experience at Green Leaf. I ordered the papaya salad and requested it non-spicy since I’m not a fan of spicy food. Though it came with a slight kick, I still really enjoyed it.

The waitress was attentive and brought me water right away, which I always appreciate. The food arrived quickly. Overall, a great spot with delicious food and excellent service!

Diner Review №14

Restaurant was empty and waited over 20 minutes for the waitress to never come to the table. Didn’t even get to place a drink order. She was at the host stand directly in front of us, talking on her cellphone the whole time while staring at our table and held up a finger to indicate she saw us but apparently her personal conversation was more important. Go next store to Gorilla Sushi instead.

Diner Review №15

Ended up here because Gorilla sushi next door was unexpectedly closed. Luckily this place does BYOB as well and no uncorking fee. It's a pretty standard Thai place. Wobbly tables and ok service. The broth was good in my dish. My boyfriend asked one of the girls working if they had any spare Pad Thai sauce that he could have on the side and she threw her head back in annoyance and said no.

Diner Review №16

It's easy to get around and a perfect location. And the place is nice and clean.

Diner Review №17

My absolute favorite Thai restaurant. Best Panang Curry and Satay in the city.

Diner Review №18

Diner Review №19

Diner Review №20

Our dinner was phenomenal! These are some of my favorite crab rangoon in Chicago!

Diner Review №21

Pad Thai was awful. Spring rolls were amazing. Pad Thai had no sauce, beef was flavorless, and noodles were just okay. Also overpriced.

Diner Review №22

I’ve been coming here since they opened, actually, since it was Opart Thai. I have been steadily disappointed, unfortunately, but decided to give it another try. I ordered a green curry (medium) and papaya salad to go. Curry was way too salty and more like mild spicy. The papaya salad, however, is a complete copout, do not get it. Half of it is a pile of lettuce, it was not spicy does not appear to have any lime, and the papaya did not taste fresh. Unfortunately, I’m disappointed and I think I won’t be coming back.

Diner Review №23

Excellent, albeit pricy. Pad Thai is on point.

Diner Review №24

What a gem! I haven't spent much time in this neighborhood but always love to try a new Thai place and this one knocked my socks off. The spring rolls with peanut sauce were beyond delicious, and I was obsessed with my entree (Musamun Curry) and my date's (Khao Soi). We asked for low-to-medium spicy and they were perfect for us. The Jasmine tea was also delightful. The whole meal (two teas, two entrees, one appetizer) set us back $45 (before tip). I can't wait to go back.
Update: We've been back twice more and also tried the Peanut Lovers dish (with Chicken) and it was also outstanding. We also can't help ourselves from ordering the Khao Soi every time because we're absolutely addicted.

Diner Review №25

Appetizer was good. If you go get a appetizer as your meal. The chicken was not good and the beef didn't look like beef. And it was hard finding it.

Diner Review №26

Diner Review №27

Diner Review №28

This is my favorite Thai restaurant so far in my neighborhood. Everything I order tastes great but I especially love the Gai Yang (roasted chicken) and Khao Soy. Prompt and good service as well. I’ll keep coming back to try more dishes.

Diner Review №29

Food quality is good. Chicken dishes are mostly sweet . Even after you ask for a spicy chicken it would not be under that much of spicy but taste is good. The one thing I didn't like which is their quantity. It's less quantity compared to the price which is a bit higher.

Diner Review №30

ordered egg rolls, tom yum soup with tofu, shrimp fried rice, beef fried rice with extra egg fry.
Egg rolls (3 piece) =5/5
Tom tum soup = 4.5/5 little sourly
Beef fried rice = 4/5
Shrimp fried rice = 4.4/5
Atmosphere is good and service was also good.

Diner Review №31

This is my favorite Thai place. I've only gotten takeout from here but it's great every time. We moved further away from Green Leaf but still drive the extra 10mins because it's worth it.

Diner Review №32

I’ve been here three times now and the gluten free pad thai is always to die for!! Highly recommend. I also have celiac and haven’t had a reaction before.

Diner Review №33

Your cashier was nice and polite with me but he can’t make me understood very well and he is not capable to solve problem issues by phone that’s why I was little upset.

Diner Review №34

The Tiger Cry is delicious!

Diner Review №35

This is my favorite Thai place in Chicago. Hands down the best!

Diner Review №36

Sadness in a bag. Would not recommend; would not order again. Left us feeling depressed and disappointed. If life had an "undo" button, I would press it as quickly as possible.

We did a takeout order this evening of egg drop soup, shrimp/veggie tempura, pad mixed vegetables, and combination fried rice. Everything was...edible, technically. But not a single bite met expectations, especially for being one of the most expensive Thai places in the area. Our order was nearly $60.

These items are all things we've eaten countless times at many other places, so we know what to expect. There was nothing tempura about the shrimp/veg appetizer. The egg drop soup was weird both in the egg and the broth. The colorless gluey combo fried rice seemed to have been made with zero love, along with the pad mixed vegetables, which at least contained a few green veggies but again it was just bland bland bland.

After a couple bites from each item we ordered, we just looked across the table from each other with sadness in our eyes, shook our heads, and pushed all the food aside. I love food and love to eat. But this place sucked absolutely all the joy out of food. I've never been less excited about a meal in all my life.

We literally put everything back in the bag and threw it in the garbage - walked it all the way downstairs and to the alley outside in the freezing cold - for fear that it's continued presence in the house would make us feel too sad to continue on with the evening.

I ordered from them, several times.
Excellent food, most of all the stuffed salmon (stuffed with scallop). Delicious!

Diner Review №40

Beware, something in the food is bad. My wife got swallen face and around mouth inside out. Visible veins in fave. We ate shrimp peanut sauce lovers. Shrimp or onions were bad something was bad in the food she doesnt have allergies, we have eaten from here before. Something they used is bad.

Diner Review №41

Disappointing!!! First time ordering here and the pad Thai was shocking. Literally just plain noodles!!! Zero flavor!!! Also, gave me pork instead of beef and I had paid a surplus for beef!! Was hoping better as just moved to the area and wanted a good local Thai restaurant:( unfortunately, wouldn't recommend!

Diner Review №42

Great food. Super consistent. Some real gems on the menu.

Diner Review №43

Diner Review №47

Little spicy but sometimes I like it 🔥

Diner Review №48

Diner Review №49

We enjoy Thai food and frequently order takeout dishes. Recently, we tried their chicken pad Thai, which was decent but not outstanding. The main issue was the overly soupy sauce and excessive egg flavor. On the positive side, the restaurant's location near the Western metro station is convenient, and the prices are reasonable.

Diner Review №50

Great Thai restaurant with amazing wide variety of menu.
Food:
I went for lunch time and enjoyed every bit of there food we order. Great selection in menu and very tasteful!

Service: there service was quick and fast and people work here are friendly polite and nice to customer.

Atmosphere:
Was great nice temp in the restaurant during hot outside. Great place to sit and enjoy food!

The best hands down. I believe there is some relation to Opart Thai, which is also my favorite Thai place. I used to live a block away from Opart Thai, and now I live a block away from Green Leaf Thai. So glad I still have the best Thai food in town a block away.

Diner Review №56

I adore this place. The food is amazing every time. We love the squash curry mild with chicken and the peanut sauce lovers with chicken mild!

Diner Review №59

Amazing delicious Thai. They bring the heat !

Diner Review №60

**** I want to preface this review with the caveat that I tried calling the restaurant 5 times tonight about the food quality and was unable to reach anyone***

Green Leaf has been our regular Thai place for over 17 years, even back when it was Opart Thai. We were happy with the food after the new owners took over 5-6 years ago and have had absolutely no complaints. Tonight we placed our usual delivery order and we were surprised by the change in the quality of the food. I am actually questioning if the food that was delivered to us came from Green Leaf ( hence my numerous calls to them)
I would really like a representative from the restaurant to contact me to clear this up. Our dinner tonight was nowhere near the quality of food we have had from you in the past.

Listen to me carefully. This is the best Thai restaurant anywhere close. Everything here is fantastic. Again, everything here is fantastic. Tiger Cry is perfect. Pad Thai is amazing. The owner is so nice and that just tops it off.

Diner Review №69

My husband and I ordered for pickup 2 nights ago and loved their TIGER CRY so much that we ordered it again for dinner tonight- honestly the best tiger cry that we’ve had! We’re also basil chicken fans so the PAD KRA PRAOW was even better and packed with flavor and heat (picked the Medium Hot spice). A flavorful and delicious Thai food in our Lincoln Square neighborhood!
PS- the guy answering the phone, working carry out orders and serving tables was super nice and accommodating!! He was great and I’ll definitely be back again soon.

Diner Review №71

Amazing Thai food! Fresh and very flavorful. The best pad see ew and massaman curry I’ve ever had. Good spice level, if you are not used to spicy, definitely order mild.

Diner Review №72

Khao soy with chicken is sooo good! I really recommend it, you won’t regret it! Get it spicy!

Diner Review №73

Door sign states opens at 11, it was 1115 when I arrived, little Mexican guy and Asian lady are laughing because they won't let me in, Asian lady comes to the door, makes sure its closed and doesn't even try to acknowledge me despite laughing in front of the clear windows. Very very rude service, horrible treatment

Diner Review №74

I was initially upset after having not been to Opart for sometime and venturing back to find that it was now Green Leaf Thai Cuisine, worried that the food would not be as good. I was very glad to see that it was just as good. I recently learned that that was because the original chef is still there. I was even more happy to hear that (it wasn't blind luck that the food is still so good). I've had a few different wonderful dishes here over the years buy my favorites are the Khao Soy and the Tiger Cry.

Diner Review №75

Diner Review №76

Diner Review №77

I loved Green Leaf! The menu features so much food that usually aren’t found on US menus…like my absolute favorite, miang sa-wan! The restaurant is beautiful inside too.

Diner Review №78

Wonderful lunch! The food was exceptional, and the portions were just right! Will definitely be back again soon.

Diner Review №79

The food was very good and the prices reasonable.

Diner Review №80

Tried a new place for us. We love Thai food and we're in the neighborhood. The chicken satay was average. The peanut sauce was good but not great. We ordered Panang Curry and Pad Prik King spicy. It was nice they asked how hot and we went to the hotest. The curry was the better of the two. It was spicy but for us not too much. The value and portions were good. Overall decent but have had better.

I visited on 01/08/23 at 5:40 pm for dinner, waitress was busy with other customers, she took over 20 minutes to come over my table, waitress was so nice though. She was polite and gave us good service . Just Resturent needs more employees

Diner Review №83

A wonderful and charming Thai restaurant tucked away in Lincoln Square just under the Red Line Western Avenue stop. The pad see ew, or stir fried soy sauce noodles, with chicken or beef always pleases. The crab rangoons and egg rolls make for great starters. Great service and for a great price! Also open earlier than most Thai places for lunch!

Diner Review №84

5 stars this place is amazing
The food was authentic the dishes were prepared and presented beautifully. Their taste is amazing. The best Thai food in Chicago I would put it in 1st place.
The service and servers impeccable. The appetizers came out right at the precise moment you needed in a large group of seven and each appetizer was enough for everyone to have a taste. Then the main entree came out altogether. No, waiting everything was fabulous. Then the owner came by and greeted you.

Diner Review №85

Diner Review №86

Robust and fresh flavors! Spicy!

Diner Review №87

This place has some of the best chicken in chicago. And they are not expensive. Their Thai iced tea also some of the best. Very authentic. I love the food

Diner Review №88

Love the food, wonderful service, great experience.

Diner Review №89

This restaurant is wonderful! The food tastes very authentic and is high quality. The environment of the restaurant is warm and welcoming. I’ve tried a few of their soups and noodles dishes and highly recommend the Kao Soi (not pictured) and the Tom kha!

Diner Review №90

Straight up 5 stars. This place never disappoints.

Diner Review №91

Well this used to be another restaurant called Thai Oscar that was now closed and went out of business which became Green Leaf Thai. My friend just picked me up from my donating blood and I offered him dinner out since I didn't want to pay for Uber after donating blood and didn't bring my cars. Anyways the Thai food was a meh ok if not subpar. Such a disappointment. The Thai ice tea was bland if not that sweet. My friend ordered a hibiscus beverage that he said was ok. The steam shrimp shumai did not have a wow taste to it but it wasn't bad. The chicken Tom kha soup needs some improvement as the chicken they cooked was dry next to the presentation of using a dangerous heating contraption to keep the soup hot. I say this because it has a burner and if someone is clumsy or if you have children dining in here and accidentally touch or knock it off it can case a hazardous fire or lawsuit. The main dishes which we both ordered was not that impressive. The pad prik felt like eating taco bell ground beef with no zest to it. I've tasted better pad prik at other Thai restaurants in Chicago, suburbs and in Thailand. My friends seafood lard nar was watery than creamy and had a really funky seafood smell. He even had to order Thai rice to fill his dish to satisfy. We ordered a banana egg roll with honey for dessert and also was ok but no big deal or excitement. All in all they need to improve as both of us was not impressed and neither was I compared to Thai Oscar.

Diner Review №92

As far as Thai goes this place is perfect

Diner Review №93

Very nice atmosphere with a friendly yet polite staff. The food was good and a nice selection of vegetarian friendly options. Will visit again! I should say though that it did feel weird eating Asian food without chopsticks.

I've been wanting to come here for a long time. We finally had the opportunity and tried going tonight for a few apps, 45 minutes before their 10 pm close and they turned us away.

Muy buena cocina tailandesa a precios muy razonables. Tienen mucho donde elegir. Platos abundantes. Una buena opción para comer a precios muy ajustados.

Diner Review №101

Back in 1995 I had my first khao soy at this Thai place in OakBrooks shopping mall. Since then ive been looking for khao soy that is as close to that one and I finally found it!! The curry is perfectly spiced with heat and not too soupy complimented with both crispy and wet noodles. This is how i remember it. This is a no-frills thai resto with great flavors and reasonable price points. Yes there are many thai places in Chicago that have better locations but you will pay a bit more and get less food. What is not compromised here is taste!!

Diner Review №102

Diner Review №103

Amazing Thai food. Consistently good, fast delivery, and some of the best Khao soi I've had. Please please please change it back for ordering apps (grubhub, doordash, etc) that we can ask for special instructions. It used to be an option, but has since changed.

Diner Review №104

Order a Tiger Cry and you won’t regret it.

Diner Review №105

Fish was very good, the chicken unfortunatelly was not.
So, one needs to know what to order.
Order made fast and on time.
Portion size is a bit below average, priced a bit above average.

Diner Review №106

This place is nothing but PERFECTION. Not only did the atmosphere make me feel at home, the food itself was incredible. Everything from the appetizers, main dish, dessert, and drinks were made with love and talent. Great place to take anyone!!!! Wish I could give a 10 STAR rating.

Diner Review №107

Great Thai food at good prices! BYOB is a nice touch too. The masaman curry was fantastic! Just like any proper Thai food, it tends to be very spicy, however they will adjust it to your preferences. I look forward to trying more of their menu.

Diner Review №108

Diner Review №109

One of the best Thai food spots in Chicago!! Believe the spicy scale! No bad dishes everything on the menu is great.

Diner Review №110

One of the best Thai places in the city, which is why posting this review is so unfortunate when they always close their kitchen before their posted online hours even for carry out. Very, very disappointing that at 9:28 on a Friday, they can't prepare a meal for pickup when they don't close until 10:00 PM and their website claims deliveries go until 9:45.

Diner Review №111

Great menu, so many tasty options, will definitely be back soon.

Diner Review №112

Every single dish was delicious and thoughtful and just perfect. My new favorite restaurant!

Diner Review №113

Food doesn't taste like it is supposed to, like an authentic thai place. They gave me pork instead of beef and charged me a dollar extra. Will never go here again! I honestly wish the Siam thai spots would open back up. This restaurant doesnt care about the quality of the food at all. Its either over salted or just wrong. Will learn to make thai food because it honestly isnt that hard and there are plenty of grocery stores with the exact ingredients..

Diner Review №119

Delicious food that is fresh and full of flavors. We took out food and everything was great. The menu is very extensive and I am sure everyone will find something based on their preferences. I particularly enjoyed their red curry and the roasted cashew dish. Looking forward to try the other items on the menu.

Diner Review №120

Had a horrible experience here. Bad service and the food was not worth my money.

Diner Review №121

Worst Pad Thai I’ve ever had. The dish literally was just noodles with veggies on top, no flavor or sauce of any kind and the beef was tough to chew.

Diner Review №122

This is such a great Thai restaurant for a few reasons: excellent, fresh, flavorful dishes that have pretty nuances like a Hibiscus flower garnish or little carrots cut into flowers. Their Tom YUM KAI soup is outstanding, good for 3-4 people to share. One of my favorites in the Pad Praw Keow- ground chicken and fresh basil with peppers. Sauce is delicious- not too sweet or too salty. Just perfect.

Also I dined in last night, and felt very comfortable dining in despite it being the pandemic. The hostess checked our vaccination cards and IDs. I saw her do that with everyone who came in. Tables were spaced out appropriately too.

Finally service is great- got seated right away, waters were served and orders taken within a few minutes. We ordered all dishes at once but appetizers, salad and entrees were spaced out so we didn’t feel rushed.

Definitely returning for the amazing food!!! Reasonable prices too, average entree was like $10-12, not too bad for lots of fresh amazing food!

Diner Review №123

Our favorite Thai place for over 30 years!!

Diner Review №124

They would get zero stars if that were an option. We ordered through door dash and one of the dishes we received had NO ingredients, just the sauce. I gave them a call and instead of rectifying their error (their error, not doordash) they told me to just complain to door dash. Awful customer service, horribly rude woman on the phone and terrible food. Save your money and don’t order from there.

Diner Review №125

Ordered pad thai level 1 spice level, instead I received a dish so incredibly spicy it burned my mouth and is completely inedible. The pad Thai was delicious last time when they correctly fulfilled the order at level 1 spice, but this dish is just too spicy to even attempt to eat.

Diner Review №133

Food is delicious here. They have a good selection of thai dishes. The Yen Ta Fo (seafood) soup is a must try especially during the cold weather in Chicago. Waiter was a little frustrated with all the questions I ask about the menu but overall all good service.

Excuse the photo of the sampler plate shown here; we already pulled a couple of pieces off before I could snap the photo. This tasty little morsel is tucked in near the subway in the intersections of Western and Lawrence. It’s a BYOB, so take a walk before you enter to the end of the block which has a small and very resourceful liquor store. The owner and his dog will greet you and you have a good amount of anything to choose from to bring with for your dinner at Greenleaf. This is exactly the type of small dining experience and hope for either running out for a bite to eat after a hard day working downtown, or a quiet small table in a busy small Thai restaurant that delivers an array of excellent food. It’s clean, and sometimes feels overly busy but that’s just their hustle and vibe; settle back and share a couple of plates… and tip well because the experience is wonderful. When someone says “I know a great little Thai place right here in the neighborhood” they are probably talking about Greenleaf. A perfect before show dinner to the old town school or adjacent attractions, but if you just need a quiet place to sit and reflect with a friend, you couldn’t find a better corner than this.

Diner Review №138

This is not the “Fresh Spring roll” pictured on the menu. Maybe this is a version of a fresh spring roll that I am not aware of but still, it is completely different from what was pictured and not what I was expecting based on the name. I’m very disappointed.
Also the Pad Lar Nar was flavorless and the chicken was super dry. I’m sorry but I will not be ordering from this restaurant again.

Diner Review №160

Diner Review №161

Terrible customer service. Ordered combination fried rice and the beef was cooked terribly could barely chew it. After expressing our displeasure with the food they said nothing and STILL charged it even though the plate was almost intact. No apologies no words whatsoever. The servers and staff in general are all rude and lack basic social skills. They still chose to argue with us in front of everyone else over THEIR mistake and they charged it! We’ve been coming here for over 2 years because of some items on the menu but definitely not again after this. Wouldn’t recommend for dine in, take it home!

Reply to your argumentative half a*sed apology: you don’t question a customer. The food was bad and barely touched, not half eaten. You take it off and that’s it. Being cheap doesn’t get you far in customer service. My father hadn’t tried it until after I mentioned I didn’t like the meat which was towards the end of the meal only because I had barely ate. I took out the meat and ate the rice which was good. Even then I only ate a small portion. It doesn’t matter WHEN you were told, because you were told. It doesn’t take more than 2 minutes to come up with a solution. Your server said NOTHING at all before walking away because your server has no manners and was barely even present. Your customer service is truly garbage and this apology was embarrassing. Cook the food better and don’t get defensive because people don’t like it. It wasn’t paying that was the problem it was the lack of communication and the attitude. You don’t argue with customers in front of other customers over the restaurants mistake. Next time let the owner speak for the restaurant cause clearly you don’t know how to manage.

Diner Review №162

Consistently excellent food and service. Long time cooks are still in place here from the Opart Thai House days. Excellent curries, noodle fishers and Thai salads. Whole menu is well executed. All other Thai places on the north side pale in comparison to this great eating house.

Diner Review №163

The food and service is amazing. I ordered the padsee eew with a Thai iced tea and it was delicious and refreshing.

Diner Review №168

This place was great before it changed hands. It was good for a little while after it changed hands. Now it’s fair at best. I’m a long time customer but too many better options out there for Thai food. I’ve also noticed that when I use a promo from any delivery service they short the order. For example a 8 piece order turns into 5-6 (not cool).

Excellent all around. Definitely the best thai food we have had outside of northern Thailand. We are not easily impressed but we will definitely be going back.

This is the best Thai food I have ever eaten. Tom Yum soup is very appetizing and the roast chicken is tender and juicy. That is the heaven!

I order it via Doordash. This is my fav Thai restaurant! The taste is great and very Thai style. 5 stars!

Disappointing takeout experience to say the least. The Sai Oua was fine, it’s just sliced sausage though so it’s not too possible to go wrong there. I also ordered Pad See-iew, and maybe I’m too picky but the wide rice noodles are the heart of the dish for me - the texture and the way they caramelize a bit is the best part. Instead for some reason the restaurant substituted thin rice noodles, didn’t tell me, and it was really just not the same. I would rather be given the chance to change my order than receive something that isn’t what I ordered. The thin noodles stuck together in clumps, the flavor was ok but very inconsistent across the dish. As others have pointed out, the portion size here is not very generous for the cost which I wouldn’t even think about if the food was quality, but it wasn’t so it can’t be explained away by “average food but you get a ton!!”, there were only a few pieces of vegetable (you can see it all in the photo). The tofu was acceptable but only that, it completely lacked the flavor of the dish. I don’t think I will give this place another chance until I’ve tried more options in Lincoln Square or indoor dining is back to normal. I definitely can’t recommend and won’t be ordering the Pad See-iew again unless the restaurant confirms that is not how it’s normally made, and tonight was a fluke. I came on a friend’s recommendation so maybe it was an off night :(

Ordered 5 dishes off the menu for my fiances birthday. We were so happy with the food. Very authentic tasting dishes. We are still dreaming about their khao soy and Neau Nom Tok.

I can’t review on the atmosphere and service (Grubhub delivery), but the cooking here is off. The first consistent issue is heat level. I can take a lot of heat but don’t prefer a dish so hot that that’s all you experience. There are people out there that cannot take any heat (so probably just stick to casseroles and pass up Thai altogether) but for those who cannot stand a lot, the heat level for their dishes are off. If you order mildly spicy, it’s enough heat for a slight burn. Medium spicy, forget it; it’s comparable to regular spicy at most Thai places. So beware on the spice levels.

On two different occasions I tasted the Pad Thai and it was quite bland. Pad Thai sauce consists of fish sauce (salty), tamarind paste (sour) and sugar (sweet). It tasted like the sauce was omitted altogether. It was just noodles, egg, carrots and peanuts. No green onion or bean sprouts.

They also need a lesson on how to slice meats. The chicken in the pad thai and beef in the panang were tough because they weren’t sliced correctly, which is against the grain. The result was very toothsome beef and chicken which took away a pleasant food experience. The panang has good flavor but was too thin with coconut milk. Panang curry is known for being a thick curry so this was actually just a straight red curry.

Prices are somewhat higher than some better Thai establishments in the area.

This place is amazing! The most authentic Thai food I’ve had outside of Thailand. HIGHLY suggest the Khao Soi (coconut curry with egg noodles) and the Gai Yang (grilled chicken with som tam and sticky rice). We also tried the Pad Ka Prao (spicy pork with Thai basil) and the Kuay Tiew Kee Mao (flat noodles with pork and veg). Service is great and being BYOB is always a plus for me.

Food-wise, pales in comparison to Opart Thai. The sweet and sour left a lot to be desired. Didn't bother to finish it or take what was left home. Spring rolls tasted like they were prepared earlier in the day. Service was quick and efficient. Will not be returning since there are so many better Thai options in Chicago..
