Walk-ins always welcome
Food was great and came out really fast. I give this restaurant a lower rating because the service was very bizarre.
Hostess sat us without a reservation, which was very kind, considering it was just before dinner rush. However, she did not let us know that we could only use the table for an hour. Without this being explained, our server kept coming to our table to take our plates even when we weren’t finished. She came around to us around every 10 minutes. It was not even close to closing and we felt like we were being rushed out. She checked twice after two minutes to see if we put our card out to pay, when she just gave us the check.
Had someone communicated the rush to us or that the table was reserved at a certain time, they would not have gotten this rating. It was so subversive. We did not get a clear explanation for why they were rushing us until I asked flat out. If you couldn’t seat us or if we had a limited time, it would have been nice to let us know. Maybe we could have gotten a reservation or come back another time.
This place is confusing. It looks upscale and does have decent service and drinks. However, the food is consistently blah. This wouldn't be a big deal if it was more reasonably priced, but their dishes are not cheap and yet I don't think they're any better than a hole-in-the-wall asian place down the street. Relatively bland, sauce is watery in a weird way.
I've dined in at least twice and ordered out, due to proximity and convenience, at least 5 times. Always the same experience.
Tom yum soup is Gucci. Nice little easily edible veggies in there, and shrimps without tails.
Crab Rangoon was underwhelming. Not enough filling. Good that it wasn't too greasy.
Orange beef was fine.
That iced tea is standardly good.
Super friendly and attentive staff. Gratuity reference on the check is wild.
Nice atmosphere.
Ordered delivery a few times from here but recently came here to dine in.
Good vibes, service is really good and food is yummy.
The Wonton Soup and Lettuce Caps were great. I'm used to restaurants that let me assemble the lettuce cap/rap, so I liked the idea of getting a prepared mix. The Egg Rolls however had a mushi filling and weren't that great.
For mains the Curry, Honey Glazed Chicken and the Pad Thai are good options.
I had the Apple Tart dessert which was tasty, but was definitely a frozen product.
I also tried some passion fruit cocktail that was disappointing.
Overall recommend.
I placed an online order and picked it up at the restaurant. I ordered the drunken noodles, the General, and the crab rangoon. I took a bite of the drunken noodles, but it was way too spicy for my taste. I had requested “no spicy,” but the receipt said “mild.” I called the restaurant and they explained the ingredients in the dish. They offered to make the dish without any spices if I returned the order. I returned the “mild” order and they made a new “no spicy” order that was perfect! That’s what I call awesome customer service! I’ll definitely be back to try new items.
Disappointed in the food quality the last few months. I just picked up an order and had specific instructions for the Singapore noodle to be made without pork or shrimp. When I started eating I noticed both pork and shrimp in the meal. Unfortunately this is the third time my food has been made incorrectly. The first time I thought it was a mistake due to the restaurant being busy and the second time I chalked it up to a new chef as the food was very oily. This time however I’m just disappointed. I think I may just need to give up and find another restaurant.
Obnoxiously overpriced and bougie. Waited 45 minutes for a table and then ordered the chicken samosas appetizer. What I received was virtually identical to the frozen ones you get from Trader Joe's. For the $12 they're charging for THREE of them, you could get three BOXES of samosas from the store.
After that, I decided to just get the hot and sour soup and call it a night. At least the soup was worth it, and the staff was very kind.
Great atmosphere. Awesome food. Excellent service. Went here for Valentine’s Day and had a phenomenal time. All the food was so delicious and the service was top tier. The portions of the food were sized just right. The food was so good I actually looked forward to eating my left overs the next day. And the leftovers, heated in a microwave, were still 10/10. Highly recommend this place.
My favorite hot & sour soup in Chicago; comfort in a bowl. Delivery staff are consistently kind, and it's a pleasure to meet them at the door.

Great vibes! I recommend the Kung Pao and the Buddshist Delight.
Sneaky. Will trick you if you upgrade to grey goose. Attention whomever is doing that. You can definitely tell the difference. Just be honest if you are out of a product and don't steal and lie.
The chips they offer are the beginning are rock hard almost broke my tooth.
Dishes were too sweet.
Green tea ice-cream was repulsive
Worst part was when we went to pay there was an error message. The hostess turned hostile and we were taken aback. She acted as if we were criminals that came to dine and rob them.
We called our bank and they told us that the business has incorrect merchant information and it has nothing to do with us. We explained and after she heard from the bank herself she offered for us to pay via Venmo.
Unpleasent and experience overall.

The only thing more audacious than my overpriced, dry chicken was learning this restaurant is owned by a January 6th insurrection attendee. In the nation’s third-largest gayborhood, no less.
My chicken was dry
The food was average—nothing special, but not terrible either. The biggest issue was the long wait; it took about 30 minutes for our order to arrive, which seemed too long for what we got.
Would give 5 stars across the board BUT very expensive. It’s great. Staff is wonderful. Would eat here more if it was a bit more reasonable.
Absolutely love this restaurant. Cute ambiance and decor. Love the crispy chicken cabbage rolls, crab Rangoon with the blueberry sauce, sesame chicken, and woon sen. Great cocktails too.
Went there for the first time. Absolutely loved the place. Nice decor and atmosphere, and they have outdoor seating. Super friendly and attentive staff from the moment you walk in. Seating layout was nice but had a table that wobbles. The cocktails were awesome and the food was amazing. Overpriced on some items but overall everything was great. I highly recommend this place.
This quaint, eclectic Asian restaurant is a posh throwback to another era. The staff is polite and knowledgeable, particularly about vegan items on their menu.
For those interested in vegan cuisine at Pingpong, you can eat well here. I recommend the Buddhist Enlightenment and Scallion Pancakes.
Excellent flavors in the food - generous portions.
Food was OK. Pad Thai Staff was very nice. Great vibe.
We've been eager to try this spot and it was totally worth waiting for!

Food is absolutely delicious and very authentic. The flavors are complex and transport you to other places. It's kind of expensive but service is great. If nothing else get the calamari
I can’t say enough great things about this lovely place :) The food is amazing, but I think what really makes this place special is the staff. Everyone is so warm and kind, the service is excellent and on the two occasions I’ve been in the staff was very accommodating and sweet in helping me navigate the gluten free options. I’m so happy this gem is a short walk from me because I plan on visiting often!
Shanghai noodles were yum! Very friendly as well
How all restaurants should be.
The Mongolian beef was so tender. I really enjoyed the decorations too. It was a nice change of pace in cuisine
An absolute fave! The staff is incredible and the food is consistently spectacular! I love so many things about this space. Great for a first date, special celebration or a group. It’s very intimate but still feels lovely and buzzing.
If you like dark liquor the Opium Haze will be your fave 🤤
So so good!!
Ordered the Panang Curry and it was not what the menu described. It had a good flavor but it had broccoli and tomatoes which Curries usually do not have. I informed the wait staff but he was not very helpful. If you go make sure the menu description is accurate or you will be getting something totally different. Not sure I will go back.
Always a great time food drinks and service
Excellent service! The appetizers, drinks and entrees were all amazing!
I highly recommend getting the steamed fish!
Great food (especially the appetizers), fun vibe. Recommended!
Too loud
Order “homemade Shanghai lo mein” and they served me barilla linguine noodles ):
I’ve gone here multiple times and done takeout multiple times. It is honestly a favorite neighborhood gem. The service when dining in is truly great and some of the best in Lakeview!! The food is always consistent and the atmosphere is quite adorable…great for friends or date night - either way! Thank you to the staff! A young gentleman was our server twice and he was phenomenal.
Favorites: Shanghai Lo Mein & Mongolian Beef
This was our first time at PingPong and we will definitely be back! The food was delicious, the service was wonderful, and the atmosphere very charming! We enjoyed Mexican Maki, Peanut Noodles, Crispy Chix Rolls, Lettuce Cups and Beef Bulgogi. Each dish was better than the last (we went a bit nuts on ordering)! Great cocktail list too!! We will be back!!
We visit Chicago a couple of times per year. It's become our family's go to dinner spot when we're there. The food, drinks and service are all great every time.
I ordered the sesame chicken and was super underwhelmed. Very basic and bland, and a little watery. I also ordered a $6 side of chow mein expecting a soft noodle stir fry, but received crunchy noodles instead. (Could definitely have been my ordering mistake, but just a heads up if you’re looking for the same thing).
Very small but cozy. Food was ok.. at least the dish I had, Pingpong (chicken cashew).
This place is incredible! Delicious food, amazing atmosphere and perfect service every time. A must have!
I love it, the food and service is so good!
Love the atmosphere, service and food!

Nice atmosphere.
I’m not sure what to say except this place is one of my favorite restaurants in the city!! It’s a beautiful space with great customer service and excellent food. Some weekends it’s very busy but you can usually get in if you come on a weeknight. Everything about this place is an A+
I give this 5⭐️
Jerry (the pigeon) gives it 5⭐️

Dated interior with a dated menu run by owners who support trump and were at the 1/6 insurrection (even if they didn’t storm the capital they were there). Take your hard earned money elsewhere.
My go to place whenever I’m in Chicago. Prompt service and great food and atmosphere
Overpriced and food is subpar but at least the service staff is pleasant.
Moo shu pork was excellent.
Fortune cookies were surprisingly accurate!
Ping Pong has grown to be one of my wife and I’s favorite restaurants in Chicago. We have added it to our regular dine in and take out list! I recommend the lychee martini for a drink. Menu wise you can’t go wrong with anything. We tend to order multiple entrees and treating it family style.
Try the duck. Noodles are among the best I've had.
Great food and outstanding service!!!
The fortune cookie was a little bit rude with me, but I’m fine!
I definitely recommend Pingpong!
We had pad see eww and clay pot glass noodle. The food is decent but not very authentic Thai. The staffs were super friendly and the decoration is very nice.
I was so impressed with the women that run this place. They were so nice and welcoming even though we didn't have a reservation. The food was spectacular too.
Nok is an amazing server. So lovely to talk to and great sense of humor. Nice food and beautiful atmosphere
Fantastic cocktails, gluten-free options, friendly staff
Very cute restaurant with great food. Best egg rolls in town. The servers are dressed very nice. Love the rice chips and fortune cookies at the end.
Top notch friendly service
Delicious food.
Winner.
We experienced a huge food quality issue while having dinner at Pingpong. I ordered their Thai Basil Beef and bit down on a metal screw that was cooked into my dish. This was the last thing I ever wanted to find in my dish.
The waiters and front of the house were attentive to attending to the situation. They offered free drinks and desserts, but we lost our appetite after finding the metal screw.
Pingpong ended up comp our two main dishes and had to pay for two drinks and one appetizer.
We have no confidence in their food quality at all now. This experience at Pingpong completely ruined our anniversary dinner.
Outstanding food, drinks, customer service, atmosphere, and overall dining experience. The staff is extremely attentive and their attention to detail takes this restaurant to another level.
amazing pad thai, very stale fortune cookie but not worth taking away a whole star
Always a favorite...
PingPong was an unexpectedly wonderful fining experience! I only say it was unexpected because we’ve all had Chinese or Thai takeout and you know what to expect. PingPong brought and elevated twist to standard Asian cuisine. The food was delicious and a reasonable value. I was really taken away by the vast cocktail menu and all the drinks I tried were served uniquely and delicious. The ambiance was charming, minimal, dim, and Al fresco making this a perfect summer date night spot or just a great place to go for a good time with friends or family. The service was also amazing! The place was packed but the staff was very attentive and friendly. This was my first time at PingPong but it won’t be my last! I’m excited to come back with more friends to show this place off!!
Really great food here and quick service. Loved the honey glazed chicken, fried rice, and crispy chicken rolls. Would go again.
PingPong should be considered a staple of Lakeview. The food is great but the service is even better. They always take care of my friends and I. Great place.
Such a pleasant experience! Service was phenomenal and the food was pretty good too. We ordered for the table so we could share. The stand outs for me were the Everything Fried Rice, Buddhist Enlightenment, the summer wrap, and the Thai iced tea. Highly recommend!
Ordered delivery a few times from here but recently came here to dine in.
Good vibes, service is really good and food is yummy.

i just came here for drinks with some friends, got an app so didn’t really try a full meal but i appreciated how attentive the servers were. definitely coming back for the food as it looked really yummy around the restaurant.
I cannot say enough great things about this restaurant. Between the service, food and drinks, this place is beyond top notch. Ping Pong will always hold a special place in my heart but their quality backs up everything else. We love them and hope they remain their standards and quality from day one, as they have from the start.
+20min after I realized that they forgot to put my food, so I ate nothing. What a waste of time.
Good food and fun, Shanghai-1930 vibe. I had the Indochine cocktail and was literally licking every last drop out the glass, it was that good. My friend had Thai Iced Tea and raved about that as well. We had Thai Basil Beef Curry (spicy) and Bronzed Salmon w/Green Curry, both were very tasty with robust flavors. Homemade fortune cookies and matcha ice cream were a fun & cooling finish. One bummer: the white rice wasn't properly cooked, it was too dry and did not have the flavor of Thai jasmine rice. Other than that, it was overall a really good dinner and we would definitely go again.
Food was ok, overpriced. Service was good. Minimum suggested tip was 25%
Visiting an old friend in Chicago and this is one of her favorite dinner spots! Food was delish with several vegetarian options. Highly recommend the Sesame Tofu and the Tuna Tartar. Drinks were excellent as well. Would recommend a reservation on a Friday night. Can’t wait till my next time in the city to try it again!
Beautiful place and delicious plates! The pink walls and and decor give off a vintage vibe. The food is plentiful and flavorful. I really enjoyed the kung pao chicken and wonton soup. The waitstaff is very nice and attentive. They always give you a chocolate covered fortune cookie at the end of the meal, a very nice touch. This has become a regular spot for me and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for great service and food!
Local favorite. The staff are soooo friendly and the food is great. It does get very busy at night, so try to make a reservation beforehand. If you aren’t able to make a reservation, they do except walk-ins and the bar is always a great start. I would definitely suggest everyone try this place out, you won’t be disappointed.
Always great good and service
Friendly service, food is high quality and old fashioned in a very good way. I had a seafood-style noodle dish with scallops, squid, and shrimp ...I loved it! Will return. We had sake and a cocktail, grilled veg dumplings, and tofu veg noodles too...all fantastic.
Very impressed from beginning to end. Staff was welcoming and friendly, even though we increased our party size shortly before our reservation. The accommodated us without hesitation. Food was DELICIOUS. Staff was attentive throughout our entire experience. I would recommend PingPong to my closest friends and family without hesitation. Thank you, PingPong for a fantastic evening!
Pretty ok, nothing stellar. Sauce needed some salt.
Delicious, wonderful, amazing. My favorite restaurant in Chicago!
So good! The mango mojito was delicious! Great ambiance for a date or dinner with a group of friends
Always delicious!
Super fun place to meet up for a meeting with friend.
I really don’t know what more you could ask for. Stellar service with amazing food. I’ll be returning for as long as I can.
Lettuce cups- the filling was mushy. To a of lettuce, but only 1 fortune cookie! Crispy chicken role was not crispy. Food was disappointing for the price and you should be able to leave an anonymous review.
Food was decent the atmosphere and inside was amazing!
The egg roll was delicious!
Great food and service
Eh...find another Asian fusion place.
Great service, great food.
Did not love this place and I thought I would. Decor was nice but so loud! Service was ok but not great. Ordered the fresh fish and it was tasty but pricey. Not rushing back.
Every trip here is a delight! The food is brilliant. The drinks are amazing! But the true delight here is the staff! One of a kind and amazing people! Truly an all around 5 star place!
Small and loud. Food and service were great though! Would definitely go back!
The best American-Chinese and Asian cuisine, Lovely staff, awesome drinks (esp the silver fox).
Amazing food and an unique atmosphere you can't find anywhere else. Can't recommend enough
Fantastic vibe, delicious food, great service.
Pingpong is absolutely unbelievable. I have both eaten in and ordered delivery, and I'm blown away every time. The food is phenomenal - SO fresh and flavorful. One of my go-to dishes is the panang curry. You also get so much food with each dish! The portions are good for at least two meals. Also - do yourself a favor and try the featured dessert! I've had a mango cheesecake and an Earl Grey chocolate cake that are both to die for. Cocktails are fabulous too; strong and beautifully presented. Plus they have such fun mixed drinks that you don't usually see with interesting liquors. And presentation and service - another 5 stars! At the restaurant, the plating is a lovely display. The takeaway is a whole other level though. A remarkable amount of care goes into the packaging for each item, and everything tastes as great as if it had just left the kitchen moments ago. Highly recommend!
The food was OKAY. We didn't have to wait long. The price was not too expensive, and the parking was great
Add to your list of places in Lakeview if you like Asian fusion cuisine and strong drinks. Traditional items are also on the menu which is good.
Went for dinner on a busy Saturday and service was great. Food was delicious and full of flavor.
It was too chilly to dine on the patio but will definitely do that when it's warmer.
Food five star manager negative four star. Chefs special made rock salt perch, to die for. Food incredible. Drinks incredible. Atmosphere great. Appetizers took an hour, OK, post COVID plac slammed. Asked several times, two apps came with dinner, one after dinner. I asked waiter to take off last appetizer as it came after entrees. He asked manager she said no can do. I asked to speak with her and she went to the wrong table to tell them no. He directed her to me and she said nothing she could do, just don't tip the waiter. I said there was no way we were doing that.
Owners I hope you read your reviews. You have a management problem. She was completely willing to loose customers over $12 and her solution was to stiff the waiter. I want to go back, won't with this manager. Waiter very sweet. Manager robot. No tip waiter $60, $12 app cost to restaurant $4? Bad math, terrible management. We paid full bill, full tip and I gave manager $10 cash which she accepted without blinking.
Love it.
Tasty food. Service was a little wonky.
Good food and good service. Good atmosphere as well, but a little loud.
Beautiful interior, attentive wait staff but mediocre cuisine. Perhaps the worst Singapore noodles I have ever seen (terrible presentation) or eaten. Prices are now also hugely inflated.
Food was so delicious. Very fresh. Don't think I've ever had crab Rangoon that melted in my mouth like that
Delivery man was very rude and inappropriate . I would like to score higher because the food was tasty but unfortunately the experience I had with the establishments delivery guy has left me with a bad impression . I will not be ordering from you guys again .
Very friendly, competent staff. Nice vibe. Great food! Would be a great spot for a date night!!
I mean, it's expensive for what you get. But are you surprised? Come here for the energy, very friendly and attentive staff, and good drinks. People-watch your neighbors along Broadway. Have fun. But don't flinch when you see the bill. This isn't Chinatown.
We ordered carry out from Ping Pong and walked to pick up our order. After a 6 min walk home we opened our order to find the egg rolls were missing. Almost immediately my phone rang and the person on the other end said they forgot my egg rolls and wanted my address so they could have a driver bring them to me. Mistakes happen its how they are handled that counts. The food is incredible and service is outstanding. Try this resturant soon.
I'm a true fan of ping pong. I haven't had any food there that I didn't like. It is well favored and always well prepared. Totally reccomend grabbing a cocktail off the menu or special board. The flavors are great.
Came here a couple weeks ago with my boyfriend and his parents. Overall we had a great time, everyone loved their food and drinks. Seems like a great restaurant to go on a date as most of the tables are two tops and it’s an intimate atmosphere. I would not recommend it for parties of 4. They put us at what I think was their only large table and it was way too big for us, felt like we had to yell across the table to be heard. It’s also just one big dining room so it can get loud.
Beautiful vibe. Amazing appetizers. Loved the handmaiden dough on dumplings and noodles. Enjoy your time here.
My favorite Asian place.
I loved all of it. Great food, service and atmosphere. They have the best egg rolls I’ve had in a while. I can’t wait to go back!
Cool ambiance, friendly staff, yummy fresh food.
One of my favorite spots! Yummy food and cocktails and great winter/cozy ambience.
I had the fish with chicken and cashews and honey— it was lovely. I hope to visit again and try more on the menu!
