A Salty Disappointment

I was looking forward to trying Bites Asian Kitchen and even saved my calories for the occasion. Unfortunately, my visit on 2/24/25 turned out to be a huge letdown.

Upon arrival, we were seated immediately, which was a great start. The menu offered plenty of tempting options, so my husband and I decided on three appetizers: Crying Tiger, Bites - Wing Tso Good, and the Roast Duck Bao Bun. He ordered a sweet tea, and I went with a lemonade.

The disappointment started with the first bite. The Roast Duck Bao Bun was overwhelmingly salty. Hoping it was just the sauce, I scraped it off—but the saltiness remained. Moving on to the chicken wings, we found them just as salty. Even my husband, who isn’t as sensitive to salt as I am, was shocked. Then came the Crying Tiger, and unfortunately, it followed the same pattern—excessively salty, with a sauce that somehow made it worse.

There was simply no escaping the heavy-handed use of salt in every dish. Our waitress was kind and tried to suggest other options that might be less salty, but by that point, I was too disappointed to risk ordering more. To make matters worse, nothing was comped from our bill despite our dissatisfaction.

The sad reality? The best thing we had at Bites Asian Kitchen was our drinks. We packed up our food, only to throw it away at the Jimmy John’s across the street while waiting for sandwiches.

My husband and I love Asian food, and I really wanted to enjoy this place. But given how overly salty everything was, I just can’t understand how it holds a 4.5-star rating. This experience was a complete disappointment.

Came here to grab sushi with some friends. Host asked if we would like to sit outside and we said sure. Following that, the server warned us that there were RATS outside and that we should eat out there at out own discretion. While that should have been a red flag, we were hungry and decided to stick around regardless…

After our food arrived, we took the first bite and unanimously struggled to swallow the sushi. While we weren't looking for anything extravagant, this is the first time that any of us have had sushi that was seemingly inedible to anyone that knows what decent sushi tastes like.

With our dishes nearly untouched, we called the server over and told them the food was definitely botched and that despite not being picky eaters, the food was obviously botched and we could not eat it. They asked us if we would like a box to take the food home and we promptly declined.

We politely requested a check and they came back with the full check and did not comp any of the food despite not having eaten anything.

While our drinks were great, it seems like the kitchen and staff are touch-and-go given the polarized reviews and I would not recommend.

Diner Review №5

Great asian fusion food, large portions! Enjoyed the Avocado Katsu, the Ebi Katsu Roll and the General Tso's Chicken!

Diner Review №6

I went for Happy Hour and the food taste, temp, and portion was just ok but not great enough for the price to me. I got the edemame dumplings and jumbo shrimp shumai which didn’t actually give jumbo. The drink I had the wake me up before you go go, also wasn’t that strong so I only got one. Don’t know if I came back for dinner if it would change my opinion. I do think the service was excellent and the ambiance is cute.

Diner Review №7

This was excellent! Seen it on Diner's, Drive-ins and Dives and had to check it out.
Did NOT disappoint!

Fun atmosphere with a great variety of food.

Great Ramen!

Diner Review №11

Amazing place. I love their sushi rolls, and love that they do a variety of dishes. Def a diverse number of options. Staff is super friendly too! Love going here. :)

Diner Review №12

The service was a little slow, but they were understaffed. We got the edamame, beef fried rice and beef ramen. The edamame was a little garlicky, but the beef and rice / ramen was very good! Prepare yourself for the ramen, it’s like game of thrones style.

Diner Review №13

On my first visit I was absolutely WOW'd! Food was amazing! 2nd visit...not so....I'm going to assume due to the 2nd visit being restaurant week, maybe something changed in their menu or with staff...but the ramen was not the best! Meanwhile the edamame and pasta were all hits! I would love to see more vegetarian options for ramen ...but overall I love this spot! Plus the drinks 🤌🏿!

Diner Review №14

One of our favorite places to frequent if treating ourselves. Never disappointed because it's always incredible!

Diner Review №15

Popped in on the last day of restaurant week and it was pretty empty, but the restaurant had a great vibe and was super cute! Everything was really flavorful and the Mentaiko pasta was probably the most delicious thing I've had in a while. The Satay Tofu was delicious as well! Definitely recommend it as a good place for casual but elevated apps and drinks. The sushi I had though wasn't to my taste, and the desserts were just okay. Otherwise great portions and service!

Diner Review №16

Went for restaurant week and so glad we did. Will definitely going back after my partner saw someone eating a massive rib on our way out.

Diner Review №17

Host was very kind but the hours listed online are somewhat misleading; last call for dining is 15 minutes earlier than the time listed on the menu and website. Was looking forward to lunch here but was unfortunately turned away at the door. Please be advised to come early!

Diner Review №18

Went for restaurant week and was so impressed by the portions and options!! Everything we got was delicious!

Diner Review №19

I recently visited BITES Asian Kitchen + Bar during restaurant week, hoping for an exciting culinary experience. Unfortunately, the food turned out to be mediocre at best. While the restaurant has a promising ambiance and diverse menu, the dishes failed to deliver the flavors and quality I expected. Given the many dining options available, I can't say it's really worth going out of your way for a meal here.

Diner Review №20

Food is tasty. Service is always GREAT!

Diner Review №21

Have been to Bites many times, and most recently went for dinner during restaurant week. Not sure why I am now just leaving a review as it is a go-to restaurant for us to take friends and out of towners to. The menu is vast but highlights include: spicy crab rangoon, basil cream mussels, creamy mentaiko pasta, honey walnut shrimp, and banana wontons. Great drink selection in a fun atmosphere with great service as well. Thanks again Bites!

Diner Review №22

great restaurant week menu! Generous entree portions and kind service. Would definitely go back

Diner Review №23

Hidden gem! Came here to try it during the Chicago restaurant week and WOW!! Great atmosphere, it is a little loud in there which made it kind of hard to hear the waiter but it was super busy so that’s probably why.The food is amazing, and the drinks are delicious as well. Definitely coming back here and trying more of theirs items!!

Diner Review №26

Great spot! I had an inKind award so I decided to check out Bites. I had the tuna tostada, the wings, and the roasted duck bao. The tostada was my favorite, very good marinade on the fish. I didn’t care much for the arugula bush on top but overall very solid. 9/10. The wings were pretty good too. Not my favorite wings I’ve ever had but I would certainly order them again. 8/10. The duck was GOOD. 9/10. For dessert I had the yuzu cheesecake with blueberry compote. It wish the yuzu would have come through stronger, other than that it just tasted like a regular good cheesecake. 8/10. The Paloma smash was a good side for $11. Ambiance is so cute and staff is super friendly. My waiter was Tana, who needs a big ass raise!!!

The atmosphere of this place is 10/10! I loved the tiki bar / sushi vibes. It was cozy and inviting. They have a huge gluten free selection for food. The drink menu was great too. Everything was very aesthetically pleasing and tasty.

Diner Review №42

We ate here for the first time on Saturday! Everything tasted so amazing. My favorite was the emerald gyoza and Rama noodles but the crab rangoons was another table favorite.
The vibes were good and our waiter was especially friendly and helpful. I wish I could remember his name! I cannot wait to go back and try more things, and some cocktails, they looked so fun.
Also - I absentmindedly left my phone on the table and they called my sister (who made the reservation) immediately and got it back right away. Truly made my life so much easier and I really appreciate how they went above and beyond!

Amazing and substantial dishes. I would recommend almost every dish. The 12 Bite specials are awesome. So much tasty food.

Diner Review №47

Best meal of my life!!!! I can’t wait to go back 💖

Diner Review №48

I really want to like this place, but the food just always falls short for me.
The crying tiger steak was funky, and not in a good way. The wings and crab rangoon were o.k., and the mad crabber sushi roll was awful.
However, the cocktails I've had here are solid.
Good luck.

Really good food, very friendly servers (Thank you Keegan for the housemade Ginger Ale recommendation! And for being a great server!) and a very cool atmosphere. I look forward to coming back again!

Diner Review №51

The sushi was delicious and well priced, Cocktails were good, but we ordered the paella because it's a recommended dish and the seafood didn't taste or smell fresh at all.

Diner Review №52

Great place!

Diner Review №53

Diner Review №54

The portions are huge, the atmosphere is cute and fun, the food is amazing! They have something for everyone if your gluten free or vegetarian or love meat! The beef rib ramen was hugeee and so delicious it was fall off the bone. The paella and tokyo sushi was also rlly good. The staff were so friendly and amazing! If you haven't stopped in yet it's definitely a sign to stop in and give it a try.

Diner Review №56

This hidden gem was delightful! I would return for the 24k gold roll alone....it was hands down one of the top 5 sushi rolls I've ever eaten. So simple, yet incredibly fresh & delicious, especially with Black tobiko addition. The coconut shrimp, paella fried rice, and spicy shrimp were all amazingly tasty. The service was quite delayed, and it did take a while for everything to come out after ordering, but I'd still return here over & over again for the food experience regardless.

Diner Review №57

I walked into this spot and figured I'd try it out. I started my order with a Matchalita which is a Mezcall drink...the presentation made me chuckle 😅. I'm not a tequila drinker thou.

Appetizer I went with the Spicy Crab Rangoon and this right here is pressure ngl...its served with this sweet chili sauce that goes crazy 9.8. Probably one of the best Crab Rangoons I've had frfr. For the main I tried was their General Tso Chicken Sandwich. I think it is one of the most interesting sandwiches I've had. It is a take from the traditional way I've always eaten this meal. It comes with General Tso sauce, lettuce, and tomatoes on a brioche bun. The flavor is there I enjoyed this but my one knock would be more of the Tso sauce before it still an 8.6 for me. I washed the sandwich down with their Osaka old-fashioned which was good too.

Ended the night with a Blueberry-Yuzu Cheesecake. I mess with dessert fr...it is very rich and the tart from blueberries was a great counterbalance for me. 8.8. Customer service was great the entire visit...very friendly and attentive. Overall like this spot i got recommendations on my next trip so I'll be back 8.9.

Diner Review №58

So good! Loved the vegan menu.

Diner Review №59

An Asian fusion restaurant drawing on flavors from Chinese, Japanese, and Thai cuisines. It may not be the spot for traditional dishes, but it offers a Western-inspired, modern take on these flavors. The Creamy Mentaiko Pasta was a highlight - rich and cheesy, with a generous portion of shrimp, a large soft-shell crab, and well-seasoned noodles.

We dined at BITES after travelling from Nova Scotia Canada. We did some research on OpenTable prior and picked BITES... great decision! We had to move our reservation twice due to unexpected travel changes, they were very accommodating and sat us no problem. We ate during happy hour, the drinks and apps were amazing and a great price! Chicken wings (garlic chilli) were phenomenal! We also got sushi, it was very fresh and we thoroughly enjoyed it.
The service was also excellent, everyone was very polite. Great portion sizes and a reasonable price, especially during happy hour! Hope to visit again next time we are in Chicago!

Diner Review №62

Some of the best food we had in Chicago! Fresh, generous plates & on point flavors. Service is amazing too. I cannot wait to be back in town to come eat here again.

Diner Review №63

Amazing quaint dinner spot in Lakeview with amazing Asian dishes and an extensive cocktail list! The fried soft shell crab sandwiches were such a unique menu item, followed with the delicious bourbon chicken + Mongolian beef. This will definitely be a new spot in my rotation and I can’t wait to explore more of the menu (especially the sushi).

Diner Review №64

Diner Review №65

Food was fresh, especially the sushi. We liked some of the unique flavors on the salad and edamame. We gave it less stars because the portions were way larger than our server described. We were only 2 people and our single edamame order was well over a pound of edamame and we were sorry to waste it. The same was true about the seaweed salad. We were told it was small by our server so ordered 2 but each salad could have served 3 people. We wish there would have been a choice of sizes like a small or large order of edamame or that our server would have shown us the serving bowls rather than just her hands.

Diner Review №66

We <3 bites! We have been a couple times and have never had a bad dish! Great prices, huge portions, and such a fun atmosphere. The servers are always super great too. My go-to recommendation in the Wrigelyville area

Diner Review №67

Such great small bites! Tasty drinks and great crowd.

Diner Review №69

very cute spot for a quick bite (🤣) or cocktails! we stopped here before a concert at the vic theatre, which is very walkable, and were able to catch happy hour (4-6pm i believe) where sake bombs and cocktails were at a lower price. the vibes inside are tropical and cozy. i ordered the 24k roll and duck bun— the bun was a little too saucy and salty imo. the cocktails were great, unique concoctions and not too sweet. (lychee yuzu martini). our server (i believe named keegan?) was very helpful in giving recs and friendly. overall would come back.

Service is excellent here: shout out to Amm who went above and beyond for me! Love the atmosphere, and the menu looks creative and delicious with plenty of vegetarian options. However, if you're hungry and vegan, this place doesn't have much to offer yet as of August 2021, and I hope to see more completely plant-based and vegan "big bites" options on the menu in the future. I ordered the taro fries and avocado tempura bao, both without the aioli, and I thought they were both pretty good for an afternoon snack!

UPDATE 2024: REDEMPTION ARC 🔥🔥🔥 They now have a dedicated vegan/vegetarian menu, and it's both DIVERSE AND EXCEPTIONAL. This menu features more than 2 dozen satisfying items and it's all delicious AF. I had the opportunity to sample a lot of it when I went with friends, and I honestly can't name a favorite dish because they all hit the spot in different ways. There's even dessert! In my opinion, they're now truly one of the best dining experiences in the Northside for vegans and vegetarians. (Bonus points for a dedicated gluten free menu too.)

The white sangria ($7 during happy hour) was light and refreshing. The brisket chow mein was delicious and a generous portion. Service was quick and attentive. Will return!

There isn’t enough praise in the world that encapsulates this place. Everything here is top tier!! The portion size for the ramen, at that price, is just amazing! Nothing was bad, every meal was bursting with flavor and it brought me a lot of joy. Our server was so great!! I’m taking everyone I know here at least once. It’s on my top spots in Chicago list now!!

Diner Review №106

I just so happened to come across their ad while visiting Chicago and seen the beef short rib ramen and immediately needed to go. It was a great experience. The ramen did not live up to my expectations but it was good. The steak appetizer was superb though. Would I go again? Yes I would. Also was blessed while there with my family. But a pair of stammers did pay our tab and another couple while there. So that was a beautiful surprise.

Diner Review №109

Ordered the roasted mushroom chow mein and it was really good. Added Sriracha and it took off. Loved how the plate was vegan and the stir fried mushrooms were hearty like chunks of meat. A little pricey and the portion was decent - a bit light.

Diner Review №110

Dropped by for a small lunch and ordered 2x duck bao, 1x chashu pork bao, and some jasmine green tea.

Service: prompt and helpful. One person was handling service for ~5 different tables, but I never felt rushed or forgotten.

Atmosphere: not bad. Music was a bit loud and the lighting was low deeper into the restaurant, but the place was clean and sitting near a window took care of any lighting qualms. The tropical aesthetic wasn't too over-the-top.

Food: best bao of my life. Soft, squishy buns, fresh veggies, and properly prepared meat that wasn't old, tough, or dry...my only wish is that I could've eaten more. $5-6 a bun makes it easy to try a few different ones - I loved the duck/hoisin combo, but the chashu/peanut/ginger soy combo was just as good. The tea was solid as well, no complaints.

Heartily recommend!

Diner Review №111

The sushi is great, and so is the spicy Crab Rangoon. My chicken satay was way too salty. My co worker got a chicken sandwich with grilled pineapple, and she sent it back because it was underwhelming. The chicken was overcooked and dry. It also appeared to have been re- cooked or warmed up. Not sure, but a Chef can always tell if the food is fresh or not. Go figure!

A cute place in the east lakeview neighborhood. The restaurant has a nice tropical vibe/decor and lots of variety of dishes. We tried bunch of appetizers. Shishinto peppers were great, loved the softshell crab sliders and the duck bao buns. The only miss for me were the wings as I would’ve liked more flavor to it. But the service and the waitstaff were amazing!!! Highly recommend. I will be back to try their signature rib ramen(our seating neighbor recommended it) and a mentaiko pasta.

The food and drinks here are really good guys. Like really good. My friend and I were having a great time until the end of our experience. We had a 4:30 reservation, for which we were on time for. The host said we could sit at the bar or a table. We chose the bar, as it was nearly empty. Bartender was kind. Halfway through the meal, they ask us to move down a couple seats. “There are people with reservations,” they told us. We were annoyed, as we had one as well, but we went ahead and moved down, which caused by friend to be squished against the wall. After they had us moved, I ordered a drink. Bartender poured it, but then never checked on us again. The bar has started to fill up We wanted to keep ordering and spending money, but about 20 minutes after that, a woman (maybe the manager) told us to leave because of other reservations. I raved about this place to my friend and was so excited for her to try it. I have worked the industry as a server for almost 15 years, so I’m well aware of the need to turn tables and make money…. But we were drinking and spending money and not causing trouble, and were made to feel extremely unwelcome. My friend was so disappointed as this was her first time. For this reason, I will never be back and never recommend this place to anyone. You all lost a would-be regular. It stinks bc I loved this place the first time I came, but never again. Beware yall- get in, sit down, rush through your meal, then hurry up and get out or else they will kick you out. I would give yall zero stars if I could. And that makes me really sad.

Service was a little slow but overall we love BITES so much! It's the cutest place on this stretch and the cocktails are so refreshing and look as good as they taste. This is one of my top casual spots when I want to dine out last minute, or meet friends in this area.

Basil cream mussels are always a hit. Crying tiger is to die for! Soft shell crab sliders creep me out but look like Michelin level food presentation. Patio is fun in the summer but the inside is too cute to pass up.

This is a dope spot in lakeview that has a great vibe, with good cocktails and food. It has a low key vibe but still buzzing on the inside. Service is great and they make you feel right at home once you walk in. Food is good. I think I need to go back and try a few other selections. Tried their signature beef rib ramen and it was good I just might not be the biggest fan of soup type dishes. The rib didn’t have that much flavor to me but was still good ramen. What I loved most was the Smoked brisket chow mein and the Short ribs. They were amazing. We tried their meatballs and I do not recommend them. Completely overcooked. Shrimp wontons were Fire tho!! I will forsure be back to explore their menu more. Definitely check this spot out! Highly Recommended!!

Diner Review №148

Great experience. The food and service were great. Everything we tried was delicious. I just didn't like that the place wasn't very busy and the few tables they had, they sat everyone next to each other.

Diner Review №149

Charming ambiance, great service, and delightful food! 😊

Plenty of vegan and vegetarian options.

Our server was helpful, answering my many questions about ingredients. She helped me navigate the menu safely.

We began with taro fries, crab Rangoon, some sushi, and then the amazing spicy-sweet jumbo shrimp wontons. Each was its own unique style and flavor.

We chose the pad Thai with chicken and shrimp. It was my husband's first experience with the dish, and he enjoyed it.

From the drinks to the brilliant dessert, it was a fantastic meal.

Definitely check out the banana Nutella wontons for dessert.

We WILL be coming back.

Stopped here on a Monday during Hapoy Hour for a quick bite. There were so many great options on the menu, but we narrowed it down to 6 somehow. Let me tell you, you can't go wrong with anything!

Jeep was our server, and she was awesome! Super friendly, attentive, and helpful. Wa also had a red sangria and old fashioned which were great!

Will definitely be coming back!

Cool atmosphere and love all the vegan options. The presentation of everything is also very fun! Good place for dinner with friends or a date :)

Diner Review №155

I had the BEST carry out, the edemame Gyoza, bbq sandwich, and the sushi were absolutely amazing. Will go back for their table service!

Diner Review №156

Fun place with TONS of gf, vegetarian, and vegan options that are delicious. Food is presented beautifully and cocktails are unique and tasty. It is often crowded, so expect a bit of acwait for food. Trust me, it's worth it!

Diner Review №157

Amazing food, fantastic service. We toured the apps none of them disappointed. Cocktails were on point.

Anyone who leaves this place a one star rating is a no good liar. I have eaten here at least a half dozen times and each time, the service was outstanding, the food mouthwateringly delicious and the drinks crisp and refreshing. If I could, I would eat every meal at this restaurant. Ten stars.

A Sunday late afternoon dinner, this place was comfortable; the staff was so attentive and helpful with ordering plates for the little ones. There wasn't a long wait for our food. The food was terrific and yes, I'd go back to try more dishes.

Came here during restaurant week but I wasn’t very interested in the restaurant week menu so I got something else. I decided on the Hawaiian fried rice with short rib and it was incredible!! I had to order it to go as well! I also got the pork and shrimp wontons and that was amazing too! To finish I got the cheesecake which was some of the best I’ve had! I will be back. It was pretty busy so I may go at a time that isn’t crazy busy!

I’ve been tracking this place more than people were tracking Taylor swifts flight from Japan to the Super Bowl.

You walk in there and it reminds me of a tiki bar, almost like the ghost of the Chicago favorite, Lost Lake, came back reincarnated. The drinks did not disappoint either. They have all the alcoholic beverages but the real gem are the slushies that come with or without alcohol. Really adds to the island feel.

I’ve been on a blissful bao bounty for what seems like forever now. So much so the streets are calling me the Bao Barbarian. I have to say this bundle of baos breaks into a beautiful ballet on my taste buds. The bao balances beautiful notes of freshness you feel you can only get from high quality ingredients.

The place is perfect for quick get together, sit down dinner, or a first date. I felt a lot of first dates around us, the nervous laughter, indecision of another drink, rapid fire of need to know questions and the awkward dance of too little or too much touch was definitely present. So even it goes poorly you got great food fare to prop you up.

My wife showed me this place on sm and I've been wanting to visit since then.

The staff is excellent and accommodating which we noticed and recognized above all.

We started with spicy crab rangoons. Normally, I'm not a crab rangoons guy and find them to be childish dishes. I have taken back that statement since I've had these.

We ordered some cocktails and while I was inebriated enough to not remember which ones exactly, I do remember my wife praising them all I too enjoyed their refreshing taste and great balance (more boozy) and felt my money was worth getting them.

Let's move on to the main course.
I'm going to be very clear here. I am a heavy eater. I can down three Big Macs with a large side of fries and Diet Coke in one sitting.
If you're going to visit this establishment, get the beef rib ramen. If you come here for anything else, especially if our first time, you've made a mistake.
Now, my wife and I each ordered one of these behemoths and I do feel that was a mistake. By the end of the meal, I was almost into a food coma and she could not finish hers. I feel it would have been better if we ordered one beef rib ramen and something else to enjoy.
The ramen was great. Filled with juicy giant rib which by the way caught the attention of everyone around us and the abundant amount of fungi and vegetables along with chewy noodles didn't disappoint. Broth was a little hard to pinpoint as I wanted a but more clear taste and a little saltier than my definition of perfection but didn't ruin the experience.

We didn't get to the dessert menu as by the time I was done, I was sweating from eating and needed a nap.

I can't wait to go back to this place but will have a better game plan to enjoy the full experience and my wife agrees.

This place was better than what I expected. Went last Saturday for Chicago restaurant week and had the best experience. Staff is friendly and have great customer service. The food is fantastic and drinks were great! Definitely will be returning. My fav appetizer was the garlic edamame 🤌🏼 highly recommend. Definitely will be returning to try other items that were not listed on the Chicago rest. menu 🔥

Was very busy. Went during Resturant week. The drinks were really good. I got the mad Thai or something like that. The jumbo Shumai which was really good, was fresh and hot. For my entree I got that the burbon honey sesame, it was ok, wasn't a major fan of it. My friend got the pad Thai, and loved it, said it was delicious.

For dessert, I got the black rice pudding. I liked it, I just wish it had more coconut shavings and chia seeds to balance it out. Not too sweet, quite filling. My friend had the lemon lime posset and really enjoyed it,

My daughter and I did the Restaurant Week Brunch. From the minute we walked in, I felt like I was on vacation. Our table was close to the one next to us but the palm tree was a nice divider and kept our conversations private. Service was excellent.
The food was absolutely beyond delicious. This is my favorite type of food and BITES did not disappoint.

Excellent food excellent service. Awesome atmosphere too. We came all the way from the northwest burbs to try this place. It's not break the bank Michelin star expensive. I would highly recommend. The menu has a great variety and the vibes here are immaculate. Recommend having a reservation on weekends. Obviously a popular place because we were there right at 5:00 on a Friday and it was packed by 6:00. Once again the food was incredible & our server even brought us a complimentary dessert, what a nice surprise. Highly recommend.

One of the best places in the neighborhood! I love bringing people here from out of town, it never disappoints. It is a super cute restaurant and the service is top notch. I was so surprised when one of the women working there recognized me and welcomed me back. They really go above and beyond. The drinks are the best and are beautiful!

From the food to the service, everything was 10/10. We went during restaurant week to try their menu and it was delicious. We also had a couple CBD drinks which were very good. The wait to get our main meal took a little long but the waitress gave us free CBD shots to make up for it. She was very friendly and attentive. I would definitely recommend.

Diner Review №189

The food was absolutely delicious amazing. And you don't get the guilt of trying such delicious food in a break, your pocket. The price is very reasonable. I'm quite shocked. I will definitely come back again host a birthday. My only suggestion to anyone who comes here is you should park far because you're going to need the walk for the digestion.

The food here is SO GOOD! My friend and I split a few appetizers and a fried rice entree because we just couldn’t pick only one thing each!

Simply, excellent food, every bite, and the service from our server, "M" was World Class! Thank you, my family will be back!

I saw this restaurant on Instagram and decided to give it a try. I was pleased. I got the blueberry Short Rib ramen, blueberry Mojito and the Braised Chashu Pork bao bun. Everything was good, including the custom service. I’ll definitely be back🫶🏾

Diner Review №195

The food was great, but the service was not. We waited over 10 minutes to even be acknowledged. When we checked in we were told we had to be out in 90 minutes. That's fine but the service was so poor if we took longer than 90 minutes it would be because our drinks took about 15 minutes to get to our table and one specialty drink didn't arrive for another 5 minutes. I noticed our server was doing everything, he was behind the check in desk and basically all over the restaurant while we waited a LONG time for a second round. Eventually I got up and asked where are drinks are. He seemed confused and asked if we wanted another round. I explained we already ordered another round, this really ruined our experience. Seems like they want to save money on servers by doing EVERYTHING themselves. Go on a weekday, they can't seem to handle things when things get busy. Very unorganized. Perhaps they will get the service part together at some point. Good food without good service will eventually keep people away.
SECOND VISIT
Ok, we came back and unfortunately the service was just as bad. Long time to be acknowledged, 3 of us split a picture of sangria and one negroni. Got the sangria but it was at least 20 minutes for the negroni. Turns out the negroni was never even ordered by our server. We sat next to the bar, made no difference. When it finally came we immediately decided to order dinner. What's great food without great service? They need a new updated system. They're riding on the fact they have good food so pack a lot of patience for the very poor service that goes with with your experience here. Bites is no longer my choice in the neighborhood, unless you go when they first open, even then I'm not sure, there appears to be no system here.

Diner Review №196

I love dining at Bites! The vibe is very welcoming and fun. The staff is excellent and friendly. Food is mostly tapas style, but entrees as well. This time we had the Lava Maki, Coconut Shrimp and Crying Tiger. Of the 3 my favorite was the shrimp. I also ordered a sweet iced tea as a mocktail. It was so delish!
