This is definitely on the more authentic side which we absolutely love! The only complaint would be for the yellow curry I ordered, I wish it had a little more of an intense flavor, like more fish sauce, but you could probably order some on the side which I forgot to ask for lol. I’m just super picky with my curry. Everything else tasted great!
Ordered to go so I didn’t See the food until I got home. Food was a bit under seasoned or just lacked flavor & also I got Beef/chicken in all meals I ordered and there was literally 3-5 pieces of chicken/beef in them. They put them on like garnish. I ate and was hungry after. I will never go back. I should’ve taken pictures before but I didn’t think about it until I played it. But here’s a pic of “chicken” fried rice and tiger cry so you see there’s no chicken on the plate besides a few & none in the rice either. Also the river cry was TERRIBLE! I took A video but it won’t upload but there’s was literally no meat in ANY of the plates I ordered. My full order was:
Chicken fried rice- 2/10
Beef Drunken noodles- 4/10 (good flavor, NO BEEF but about 5 pieces)
Spicy green beans- 4/10 had decent amount of chicken but not much green beans. Sauce wasn’t good
Tiger cry- 2/10 (no seasoning, sauce was not good, not cooked how we asked)
I had the chicken drunken noodles medium which is about right if you just want a little kick. Good flavor overall. I just wished there were more noodles to make portions a little bit bigger for the price $15. The lunch pad thai was ok kind of oily though. The fish was good. Mrs did like her Ladna noodles.
This is our second time ordering from Thai Bistro, and it was just as amazing as the first! We got the Chicken Pad Thai, Chicken Pad See Ew, and the Chicken Panang Curry, and everything was fresh, delicious, and reasonably priced. The portions are generous—enough for leftovers the next day! The Chicken Panang Curry is my personal favorite, perfectly spiced and seasoned, especially with rice and veggies. Highly recommend this place!
The pineapple curry is delicious! The soup is salty but still good.
However, you have to pay attention that:
1. If you want to order lunch special, not just point on the menu. Unless verbally specified, they will give you a regular plate at a higher price.
2. The beans are not well cooked. It tastes bad and may cause stomachache.
Absolutely amazing Ma-Sa-Mun Curry!
Portions aren't the biggest and you can tell they skim on the proteins. I literally counted 3 shrimp and 2 pieces of chicken in my Pad Thai which was also overcooked and a bit soggy. Thai Cottage is still my Thai food standard in Houston.
They need to use minced chicken or pork for "basil inferno" which is just their version of pad krapow - the quintessential Thai dish instead they use sliced chicken. They actually have a dish with minced chicken, so it's not like they can't. Eggplant/tofu was lacking eggplant. Brown rice was done well - moist and soft.

This was my 2nd time visiting. First time, the food was awesome. The second time not so much. My pineapple fried rice contained no pineapple, raisins or cashews. Basically spicy fried rice with chicken smh. Still tasted good.
Just ordered online and requested gluten free - they called me to verify everything I ordered was naturally gluten free. Very kind gesture! I have been eating here for many years with my family, but I thought that level of customer service went above and beyond.
Do not know the name of the person who took the order. Upon asking for recommendations for a dish without certain sauce, the person started acting rude and like she was not there to help.
If you like Tom yum soup or papaya salad. This is the right place to try
Good service, nice patio seating, and a good lunch special. We enjoyed the soup, salad that comes with the lunch special, and the vegetable spring rolls were delicious. We both had pad thai with chicken, and thought it seems to lack the hint of tamarind and sourness. But the noodles texture were cooked perfectly.
Their vegetarian curries are good!
The blazing noodles were really delicious. Lots of tasty veggie options here.

Super yummy! 😋
If I could more than 5 stars I would. Fast service. Great food. Some of the best Thai food I have had in Houston. Super friendly and helpful staff.
The younger woman(maybe the owner/manager) was super rude to the table cleaner. Even though their food is pretty good, I'm not gonna go there again.
Excellent go to Thai place. Service is pleasant.
green curry was amazing! my new favorite thai place
Stopped in for a later lunch so not many people. Was seated quickly with a smile. Food was good and nicely seasoned. Price like everything is higher than should be. I'd come back.
DELICIOUS meal! We could hardly talk other than moan in delight. Perfect soups with incredible flavor and the dumpling sauce was fantastic!
Thai Bistro is a staple restaurant in Houston to get solid Thai food at a good price. Always recommend to get the Thai toast, Thai tea, and you can’t go wrong with a chicken Pad Thai for lunch. Get your dishes Thai Hot to feel the heat.
Lunch specials are my main go to, but dinner is solid as well.
Restaurant Review: First Impressions Matter
I recently dined at here for the first time and was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food. The sweet-and-sour chicken was particularly delicious
However, I encountered a situation that left me with mixed feelings about my experience. When ordering, I inquired whether the rice options—white or fried rice—were included with the meal. The waiter assured me that the rice was complimentary, and opting for fried rice would not affect the price of my dish. Based on this clarification, I chose the fried rice.
Upon receiving the bill, I noticed a charge for an $8 kids fried rice. I promptly raised this issue with the staff member who brought the bill, and she indicated she would consult the manager. When the manager approached my table, her demeanor suggested annoyance rather than a willingness to assist. Rather than engaging in a constructive conversation, she asked if I had a question, which I clarified I did not; I simply wanted to explain the misunderstanding. Unfortunately, she seemed indifferent to my concerns and did not offer any apology or acknowledgment of any wrongdoings on their part.
While I understand that mistakes can happen and I hold no ill will toward the waiter—who I clearly just made an honest mistake, —the manager's lack of empathy was disheartening. In my experience working within the restaurant industry, I have always gone out of my way to correct any mistake me or my staff has caused. Effective customer service can significantly enhance a dining experience. A simple acknowledgment of the misunderstanding and a resolution—such as removing the charge for the extra rice—would have demonstrated care for the customer’s experience.
In conclusion, while I thoroughly enjoyed the food, the service aspect fell short of expectations. I hope my feedback contributes to improving customer interactions in the future.
Delicious food and great service!
Amazing food!!! I tried this place a few years ago I didn’t like it. I came back a few weeks ago and wow! Pad Thai!
Love the cheese rolls and thai toast. Yummy
The service was fine but the decor has not changed in years and food was underwhelming
Service used to be much better. I don’t know if they changed the stuff, but they are unresponsive and slow, especially the woman in a blue shirt made us ask for things several times and behaved like she is making us a big favor. Not going there again.
So I will not be returning here. I’ve eaten here two other times and had pleasant experiences. Today I placed a takeout order for calamari and pad Thai. I got home and in the process of eating my pad Thai discovered a long black hair in my food. I knew it wasn’t mine because I’m Black (thus a different hair texture) and more importantly I have braids that are light brown/blonde.
I immediately called the restaurant and told them. The lady didn’t apologize and instead awkwardly offered to make another one. I then had to drive back to the restaurant. When I got there it was a different lady and all she asked me was “oh no one told you to bring the original food back with you?” Now I like to give people the benefit of the doubt but to me this was a big mistake on their end. Finding a long hair strand in your food is disgusting and it makes you question the entire sanitation of this place. Instead of them to apologize, you’re questioning me as if I made up the story. Who would waste their time driving back out after a long work week just so they could get some additional $12 chicken pad Thai? Like seriously do better. They honestly need to work on their customer service and for that reason, I mostly certainly will not be returning. It was just so off putting to me.
Worthy place
Clean, comfy, inviting place. Delicious food. Only criticism is the"hot" level of spiciness was more like a medium spicy level. Definitely recommend for fresh, tasty Thai food.
Small, quiet cafe with big flavors. Celebrated my birthday there. We ordered the chicken fried rice, Thai sweet and sour chicken, chicken cashew nut and the black pepper and garlic beef. Then for dessert fried bananas and coconut ice cream.
All were so good we tore it all up and forgot to snap pictures.
This is definitely on the more authentic side which we absolutely love! The only complaint would be for the yellow curry I ordered, I wish it had a little more of an intense flavor, like more fish sauce, but you could probably order some on the side which I forgot to ask for lol. Small place with very good Thai food. Does a good takeout business.
Great food! Terrific service. Small place. Inside or outside seating.
Excellent food
Best thing - the Panang Curry was absolutely delicious (as was the soup and salad). Less-best thing - the vegetables in the curry were a little tough. Bottom line - I will go back at my first opportunity.
Busy place. Popular for a casual Thai meal. The place is a little bit difficult to find, but plenty of parking. Outdoor seating doesn't really work in the summer. Menu and cuisine is solid. Prices are reasonable, and food is delicious. Service is prompt and courteous. Nothing fancy, but a place you always remember to go back to.
Nice place. Amazing food. The Panang curry is legendary in my eyes. Four levels of spicy. Hot isn't the hottest on their menu, but it is no joke. I can't imagine the level above. May need gloves to eat!
I came here with my wife, we order padthai and fried rice, and is one of the worst we ever had
We have been getting to go from here for 5 years and until recently it’s been great
The food has become really bland and no spice/or flavor…. I’m not sure what’s changed but it’s not the Thai flavors we loved from here
Chicke is usually overcooked. Curry is bland and so is the pad Thai
Service was excellent, food was pretty good.... prefer Cooking Girl and Pepper Salt
Loved the Thai food! Authentic and the place is great
The pineapple curry is delicious! The soup is salty but still good.
However, you have to pay attention that:
1. If you want to order lunch special, not just point on the menu. Unless verbally specified, they will give you a regular plate at a higher price.

delicious food and good service
Excellent food! New to the area and after a disappointing Thai food experience up in the Woodlands, I found Thai Bistro. My daughter and I shared Pad See Ew with tofu and red curry with chicken. They were both generous portions with lots of vegetables in addition to the proteins. We started with crispy veggie rolls and chicken potstickers-delicious! We ordered takeout, but the restaurant has a lovely ambience, lovely people too. I ordered medium spice level and it was definitely spicy. Perfect!
The Thai Bistro serves consistently good food with excellent service. You can dine inside, or on several tables on an outside covered patio or order takeout. If you're not up for the larger main course items, you can order a combo of small items. I like to combine the fresh shrimp rolls with a cup of tom Kha and crispy calamari. A glass of wine and the sweet rice with fresh mango for dessert makes a great meal.
Excellent food. Great atmosphere for small or large groups. The coconut ice cream is a must try!
Yellow curry is amazing!
Tasty, but over priced
We order excellent orders to go all the time we particularly like the basil chicken Thai hot and they're assorted appetizers are wonderful.
Great place for Thai food!
The interiors are really nice and the service is great. It was a really nice casual date for us. It is great food for great price and the portions are big. My tofu curry was a little too dense and sweet but it was a great vegetarian curry for sure. with the dumplings and catfish, it is great food overall.
Consistently excellent food and friendly staff. They can make several dishes gluten free (I love their Thai Basil), and as someone with celiac, I greatly appreciate it! I've never had any issues :)
Unfortunately, a hair in our plate.
I had their Panang Curry for lunch. It was good. I would definitely comeback again and try their pad thai. I like how their price is reasonable.
GOD AWFUL. Both items that I ordered were cloyingly sweet. Why would I, or anyone else, want to eat a sweet take on Pad Thai? I wouldn't and I didn't and I doubt that anyone that isn't Buddy the Elf would either. Did the cooks here even taste the food before dumping it into a takeout container? Pshhh...right. The unfortunate peanut sauce that came with my shrimp rolls was TWICE as sweet as the Pad Thai. Again, I'm wondering who TF wants their entree to be this sweet?? That sauce was akin to a treacle pudding.Don't know what that is? Hint: it's a dessert. So, shrimp rolls and treacle pudding. No thanks. Nothing- not a single thing in my order was edible. This review comes as a courtesy to the public so that you can avoid the disappointment of spending $20+ on sugary entrees. The food was disgusting and went straight into the trash bin. This is Houston. There are bound to be many, many other options for tasty, well made Thai food. I'm new to the area so, apparently, I had to learn the hard way.
Good tasty food.. very reasonably priced
Everyone nice and food. Very delicious
Great service and food was divine
What if I go to Thai spots? I always get the Thai beef curry spicy number five basil grounded chicken. Great friendly service.
Really great Thai food here. Got the black pepper and garlic chicken and my boyfriend got the panang curry. Good service, was very quick and delicious!
Thai Bistro is always a good choice! I've never had a bad dish. All the curries are fabulous and the tom kha is phenomenal.
The people who work here are very nice and provide excellent service to their customers. The food is all delicious, one of my favorite places to eat when I'm in the mood for Thai food.
Amazing. . .just amazing.
The food is delicious. . . .the service is first class. . . The entire team is LOVELy!
Ambiance is right on point. ..
Prices are decent. . .
5 stars all the way around!
Food was not fresh. I'm very disappointed. Never will go back. Houston has a lot of restaurants, you should learn to serve fresh food!!!
Good food and service. Like the curry. Enjoyed the lunch specials. Also, like the coconut ice cream and fried banana.
I had the drunken noodles (different name in the menu) and tiger beef. The drunken noodles were missing a little flavor, as a take out I was unable to ask for any sauce so this could of helped in the restaurant😅 the crying tiger was very good so that one does get 5 stars!
We ordered a variety: spicy curry, basil inferno chicken and beef, and inferno pork fried rice. We also had the assorted appetizer. Everything was great, and the staff was friendly.
The food is great, but the inside atmosphere downstairs to crammed in.
Service is good but the food not much. Sweet and sour chicken is not sweet at all. It was more on a tomato sauce.
Pat thai is OK
Type bistro is excellent. Authentic Thai food. Great! Lunch special! Lovely patio
Excellent Thai Food
Very nice location with outdoor sitting available. Dinner set menu at very cheap price but good tasty selection.
Era mi primera vez, me pareció muy rica la comida y muy buena atención. Se los recomiendo 👌
The service was great. The price was affordable and the food was okay. I ordered the basil chicken inferno and my partner ordered the beef inferno. I usually get chicken basil at Thai spots. My dish had too much salt but the flavor was good. I enjoyed the soup and Thai tea. The ambiance was nice. I enjoyed listening to smooth jazz while eating.
The service was great and efficient. The food was delicious and also came out quickly. I had the Masamun curry. Best Thai place I’ve been to in Houston!
Love this place. I come here very often. Service is always great. They have so many veggie options. The food is so good.
food was okay. ordered pad thai chicken and shrimp fried rice. pad thai chicken was pretty good. it came with soup and salad. the soup was a no-go. way too salty and oily. i dont even know what soup it was. salad was good. we were so hungry and when you are in that state everything tastes good, but we could easily spot somethings like the soup. the shrimp fried rice was decent. it was very seasoned. it was good but when i came home even until i am writing this review i am thirsty and drinking so much water. oh and the thai tea i ordered was eh. it wasnt the taste i know, i think it was more watery and bitter compared to other thai teas ive tried. and not a big fan of the paper straws either.
other stuff like easy parking, good service, clean tables and sparkly clean bathroom too.
Was delighted to see they have outdoor seating, but in this weather that's a little tough to hack, so I ordered to go. Maybe I just got lucky but they had pre-cooked pad Thai ready to go. Don't know if that's a regular thing or I stole someone's order, but it was great to get in and out.
The food was decent but they didn't include any sort of sauce on the side so despite being cooked in oil when made, it was a bit dry. Lesson learned for next time! Either ask for some hot oil, peanut sauce, etc or be prepared to add some yourself if you like your pad Thai that way. Personally I like Bachan's but that's just me.
Regardless, I'll definitely be back to explore more of the menu.
Delicious food and great service!
not so tasty, mediocre, but nice atmosphere
Food is always great here when we come. Not greasy and fresh tasting.
You can't find better Thai food!
Taste is average. Quantity is minimal (more sprouts) so you may have to order more to satisfy hunger. I asked about it but I was rudely told, that was the regular quality if needed order more items. The additional alternatives also $$ , I endure going to second restaurant.
Great Thai food, great service. And not expensive.
Very nice lunch place... a lot of variety and, most important... delicious!!!
The restaurant was nice, clean, and aesthetically pleasing. Moreover, the food was delicious.
Great place to get away from the office during lunch time. Wait staff even opened the door for me as I approached and was very attentive throughout the meal.
I ordered the Pad Thai lunch special and thought the taste was good (met expectations). Portion size was a healthy amount, so since I’m dieting, it was enough for lunch plus a snack later. The lunch special also came with soup and salad, both of which I enjoyed thoroughly.
I’d definitely come back and try some of their other specials (including the ones with “inferno” in the name).
Tofu madness overload
I’ve been here at least 3 times in the past but this experience was very lacking. I suspect a different chef is in the kitchen now.
I have been craving Pad Thai so I decided to get some from Thai bistro. I also ordered the panang curry (both with tofu).
The noodles were terrible…dry and the sauce didn’t taste anything like pad thai. Couldn’t taste the tamarind and it lacked the necessary sweetness. The tofu was inedible…seemed like it had been warmed up multiple times since it was fried.
Next, I figured that no one could go wrong with curry…spoke too soon. Again, it lacked the authenticity I’m used to. Didn’t taste like there was any panang paste. There was nothing exciting about it and some potatoes were undercooked.
The sad part is I hadn’t eaten all day so anything at that point should have tasted delicious…nothing here did.
Now to the saddest part, the wait staff could clearly see that I did not eat the food but didn’t ask if there was a problem they could rectify. If only the food tasted half as good as my camera made it look.
The food was delicious. I ordered the Tom Kha Gai and Pad Kee Mao with extra Thai basil cause ya girl is specific and Thai basil is fuego. I ordered to go so I couldn't quite enjoy the atmosphere or service but I'm sure it was lovely. I will absolutely be back!
Very good atmosphere, with great service. Good beer selection, with affordable prices. The food is good, not fantastic, but it's probably the best Thai food within a reasonable driving distance of the store. Seasoning feels a bit bland, and spice levels can be lower than expected. Good vegan options, and plenty of vegetarian options for all.
Recommended!
Really good food. The lunch menu is very affordable and portion is good. Great place and atmosphere to go with family and/or friends. The only down side is that there is no kids menu.
One of the better options in Houston IMO. Lunch deals are great as is service.
Excellent food and every dish tasted unique unlike other places where almost every dish tasted the same. Flavors were true to the dishes ingredients
Average food. The tom Ka Kai soup was 3/10 . Did not have any lemon but we fixed it by asking for some lemon. Cashew nut chicken was absolutely bad. The green curry was mediocre . The bill in the end was reasonable . But they have to improve their quality in order to get repeat business. There is much room for improvement . Hope the owner reads this and tries to improve since they do have good potential.
Loved it
Great vegetarian choices. Good food.
Great ambiance. Good food. Good service.
Great lunch menu, high quality and tasty food. Recommend the Panang curry but nothing I’ve had is bad. 3 of 5 spice is manageable I would probably get more next time
Quaint little bistro although I noticed they also have an upstairs section as the main level is on the small but cute side. I went for lunch and the service was fast and good. I got the Panang Curry, so it came with a small side salad and egg roll to start with. Their peanut sauce is AMAZING. Food came out fast and very good. The lunch specials were also priced very friendly. I'll definitely go back.
Love the ambiance, there are 2 floors and outdoor covered seating I cannot take any spice at all, I ordered Hot shrimp pad thai, it was flavorful, not spicy at all. There are nuts in mamy of their dishes, *not* recommended to order any deep-fried food if you have a nut allergy.
I love the Thai food served there. The service can be improved a little bit more, but it is good. The price is right, especially the lunch menu and the lunch portions: just right! I recommend this restaurant.
The selections were broad with many options available for members of our party who were vegetarian or had food allergies. The Thai iced tea was quite good, as was the assorted appetizer plate. I especially liked the cheese rolls.
The entrees were good, but not outstanding compared to Mae Pham in the Seattle area. I ordered chicken pad see ew that was OK but a bit heavy on the soy sauce. Portion size was quite generous for the price.
Co-workers ordered a selection if dishes. The chicken pad Thai was also a bit heavy on the soy sauce rather than peanutty.
Shrimp rolls and dishes were made with larger prawns, and the shrimp fried rice a co-worker ordered he said was excellent.
Spice ratings (heat) were accurate, and additional wet & dry Thai chilies were available to customize your heat level.
Everyone enjoyed the coconut ice cream, some accompanied by fried bananas that had caramelized.
Unfortunately no Boba tea
I lived in Texas for 12 years, this is the best Thai Food in the Houston area. Guaranteed, the best!
Great food quality. Small but very delightful place.
One star for the fact that it was 26 degrees outside and they had no working heater. The staff INSISTED the heater was on. After feeling the air out of the vent in the bathroom was cold air I confronted someone else who told me the heater was broken. Someone cut her off and said “no it’s working”. I don’t appreciate liars…. Telling us the truth would’ve been much easier. We would’ve just taken our food to go if we had know the conditions. Nobody seemed to care.
Nice food, Hot is really hot..
Good food but better ambiance and service.
The food was tasty, authentic and delish😊
We have been coming here for years. This is our favorite Thai place in Houston.
Excellent service and so good. Loved the food. Thai ice tea!
I’ve ordered from this restaurant on several occasions and it has been consistently great. Last night, I made a mistake and showed up at the restaurant only to realize after checking my phone I ordered it from the wrong location. The restaurant employees were quick to tell me they could make it for me at the location I was already at. That was such a nice thing for them to do, and something that was not their fault at all as it was simply my error. I felt like I needed to leave a review on here because that’s the perfect example of a business that knows really great customer service. They went above and beyond for me even when they didn’t need to. I already loved this restaurant but now I respect it that much more. Great food, great prices, and most importantly, great people.
