Samran is a locally-owned sushi restaurant just north of the Belleville fountain. With delicious and poignant flavors, peak presentation, and friendly owners; this is a neighborhood-local favorite.

We shared 5 rolls between two of us and had about a roll's worth of leftovers- New York, red dragon, crunchy spicy tuna (which was $1 cheaper than the regular spicy tuna, a nice surprise at only $4.95 with jam-packed flavor), fried Philadelphia (with a unique way of frying it- my date said it was the best way he'd ever tried it cooked), and an ebi mango (the freshest mango I've had all season, it was refreshing).

I've experienced in the past from another sushi restaurant that the sushi tastes best when dining in compared to taking out or delivery. Though I haven't dined in here, the sushi is spectacular when taken out. It makes me wonder what it tastes like when dining in. 🤤

I'm sad that my first visit was just last fall (2022) and I missed the opportunity to dine in. Pictures of the interior look super cute and make me feel nostalgic. Hoping that they reopen. 🤞

My husband and I have traveled all over the world and I've lived in Japan for over 5 years. I am happy to say that this place made us nostalgic for Japan! It's the perfect little hole in the wall place for delicious sushi made the way it was meant to be! The prices are great, the food AMAZING and both the Jasmin and Thai tea were wonderful. The employees were so friendly and I'm looking forward to making this a regular restaurant in our new neighbourhood! Thank you for existing for this traveling couple longing for great sushi far from home!

This was my first time here. The food was amazing! It's only take out. You order at the door. Staff was very friendly. I will tell my friends they need to try this place! I will definitely be back soon. Prices are really affordable.

Food terrible if I could give 0 stars I would and I spent $28 on 2 Philadelphia rolls and one California roll asked for extra eel sauce but instead they gave me no eel sauce at all my sushi was supposed to be tempura fried but my sushi came out looking like fried chicken from Popeyes IT WAS NOT GOOD @ALL neither was the pork fried rice it was beyond bland no flavor whatsoever NEVER will i return REALLY HATE I WASTED MY HARD EARNED MONEY!!!!!🤢🤢🤢

This is a small restaurant, but has the best sushi in the metro area! Thai food is excellent as well. Out of all sushi restaurants even the buffets with sushi, they are not touching Sushi Thai by Samran!!

Currently only doing takeout only and their price are very low compared to some thai places I've seen. I ordered the yellow curry and quantity wise it was kind of small but the quality of the food and the taste is amazing! I've had thai food from chicago and the suburbs but this has to be some of the best curry I've had in a while!

Because the menu features both Thai and Japanese food, I expected it to be weird, which it sort of was, but it was also fairly good.

Ordered the sushi and sashimi for one... when I arrived to pick up my food there was no salad or soup... one or the other is required with the dish... when I asked where the item is I was told that’s only for dine-in, there haven’t been any dining in at this restaurant for almost a year! clearly this was a LIE... your charging me for it I expect my money’s worth. Dishonest business and I wouldn’t recommend to anyone nor will I spend my money year again.

Hands down best Sushi you can get around here. It might be a little more pricy than other sushi places, but treat yourself, and spend the extra 10$ or so if you can swing it.

The sushi is amazing, but let’s not forget the Thai food! As both owners are from Thailand, it goes without saying, that the Thai food is exceptional too. I no longer live in the Saint Louis area, though when I’m visiting, I always stop here.

Best sushi around. Small mom and pop place on the corner. Great service. Far better priced too, even though it taste better than the expensive places. Even their food presentation is neat! The Thai Food is also worth trying, but I love the sushi so much even if I'm craving thai I get sushi instead. I usually take the thai to go. This is my favorite sushi stop by far.

I don't know how this place has high ratings. It is not clean! You can literally just look behind the counter and tell! I ate 1 bite of sweet potato sushi and threw up! It smelled like it had be cross contaminated with raw fish. I looked at the place and knew right away it was nasty, but it was icy and cold, so I took the risk but I should have just followed my first mind and passed!

Beyond delicious! The workers are so joyful and well spirited. Good prices too! Loved it. For a small local business they are doing stupendous.

Sushi and Thai food, just as the name implies. The sushi is always fresh and delicious. I usually get Pad Thai as well, and I tastes as good as any dedicated Thai restaurant. Prices are very resonable, and the value is excellent. They do not have fountain drinks, but they always have tea and lemonade as well as canned sodas and thai iced tea. My family frequents this shop.

This is the best sushi in Belleville! Reasonable prices, nice sized sushi rolls, amazing service EVERY TIME. Best part, they sell awesome Thai food as well! Fish is fresh and always great. I visit this little restaurant regularly. They only have about 10 tables, so get there early. They've got a killer lunch special, and I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a great sushi in the area. You won't regret it!
