After a curt response of “yes”, he proceeded to open the door for himself and it swiftly shut behind him. I should mention I’m 8 months pregnant. I ordered the Thai Basil Noodle, a noodle dish with wide noodles, broccoli, bamboo shoots and chicken, requested it be at the highest spice level. When I came back to collect my order, I was told my meal would be “medium” and when I asked for this to be corrected, they put a vinegar-based condiment into my bag. When I opened my order, I was disappointed to see my noodles were super-short, my broccoli looked and tasted as though previously frozen. While there was a decent amount of chicken, it seemed rubbery and some pieces were burned. The vinegar- based hot sauce included threw the dish off for me, personally. There also seemed to be a hair in my food. Overall, was very disappointed with the meal.

Take out only, but this is my go-to Thai place!! Love their curries and the Tom Kha veg soup. We always get “Thai spicy” spice level, and the flavor is amazing!

After COVID, they decided to not open up the dining hall anymore especially since their son is now in college. Only to-go service offered now.

Loved the food! perfect balance of spices. I ordered Panaag curry, Thai fried rice, Pad Thai, Tom Kha Soup were delicious and I felt it's made from scratch. If you are Thai food enthusiast, this place is worth a try. I believe, its open for dinner only.

I worked here when I was in high school and I still love this place PIM cooks the food fresh every day all by her self! That’s why it takes long. 10 years have gone by and I still order. My favorite dishes are basil, fried rice spicy. I also love the pad, Thai spicy, and the Penang curry soup.!! I’m so glad they’re still in business.

Food was flavorful and reasonably priced. I appreciate the thoughtfulness that goes with packaging food for take out. Sauces for dishes are packed separately to prevent leakage in transport.

I ordered panang curry. Flavor was rich and just right amount of spice. Was disappointed in lack of more veggies. Just few green bell peppers. Some red bell peppers and more basil would have been nice.

Pot stickers and crab Rangoon were delicious. Rama special was good too.

Will order again and ask for more veggies next time.

Our usual place, Montri Thai in Warrenville doesn’t deliver so decided to give Thai Orchid a try through DoorDash and we absolutely loved it. Food is very tasty, and they go nice and heavy on the veggies in some of their dishes so it feels healthier too. We particularly enjoyed the Thai and Basil Fried Rice(s), Chicken Panang, and the minced chicken entree they offer. Also their Thom Yum Soup is out of this world. Good to find a great, nearby, Thai place near home!

We've only ordered delivery from here, but we do it often because it is DELICIOUS! Just be careful when choosing your spice level! Love the Pad Thai, Crab Rangoons, & Curry Fried Rice! Generous portions as well!

Authentic and locally owned small business. Have been going here for years. Everything is made to order so can be a lengthy wait time but delicious!

Food is always great. We love the Pad Khee Mao, Pad See Ewe, Pad Thai, and Panang Curry! All delicious and good portions that leave you with leftovers. The interior is cozy, and we all love the figurines they collect! Very great local family business! Their college son helps out his parents, it's a lot of work! But definitely need to hire more hands.

The last time I ate there I had a sit outside, waiting for the restaurant to open and when they open to half an hour late, I had to wait another 40 minutes because the owner told me that her son who is the cook was on his way. Google says they are available for dine-in, but there is no seating or even anyone to talk to! No one came out of the kitchen to even take a TOGO order or anything! We try to support local small business and this experience was very disappointing! We had to go elsewhere to eat, since this establishment didn't seem to want our business!

Yummmmm we loved every bite of our meal. We got pad see ewe, beef teriyaki, tom kha soup and Chicken satays. Everything was delicious. Well seasoned and generous portions. Yum will order from here again!

Whatever person leaves this place a bad review does not know Thai food. The portions are large. I've had multiple dishes. The TOMYUM shrimp soup is the best I've found out here. So much flavor, spicy and sweet. The chicken pad Thai portion is huge! You will have leftovers. I live in Plainfield so I do wish it was closer but this is on point for Thai food.

This is a takeout restaurant, so no atmosphere to speak of, other than the wall of Sailor Moon and other anime figurines. Great food! I get the spicy chicken nearly every time and this place has been our Thai food go to since 2014.

HORRIBLE!! We ordered from this restaurant- AFTER calling to ask for input on spice-level and they informed us that ‘yellow curry was the least spicy. No risk with yellow curry’
So, we ordered and the website has levels in order of heat so we ordered the LAST one on the list. It was inedible. Honestly, this could’ve killed a child. Since we asked for help & they were not able to communicate accurately with us - if I had ordered this for my young son - we would be in the hospital.
We called to ask what happened & the manager said there was ‘nothing they could do since it was ordered through door-dash’…..WHAAAAT?!! We told him that we called to ask for help in ordering and he said ‘sorry - that is just how the menu appears online’ 😤🤬🥵

Since we paid 30$ for ONE MEAL that was inedible - I’d suggest you order elsewhere….
Your hard earned money is best spent on another Thai restaurant that respects their customers and is able to communicate with the folks that choose to spend their money there.

Came in for pick up that was supposed to be ready when I arrived. For some reason when I got there, I was told it would be another 30-40 minutes. Unfortunately, I don’t have that kind of time. I guess punctuality is a flaw in 2022? Didn’t eat and canceled pickup.

Staff is friendly and attentive to your needs. I proposed to my now fiancé here and everyone pitched in 100%. Food is awesome and beer selection amazing.

They take relatively longer than other take out places to make the food. But it always seems fresh. We love Tom yum and Tom kha soup. Everything else is also tasty. Only thing is you have to eat it while it's hot. After that noodles/rice will stick together.

I read all the reviews good and bad, they're true the food needs a touch of salt or fish sauce, I think this is a positive problem since many people like low sodium, and there is a simple solution for it.
I recommend their Basil Chicken, it's a little spicy but great. Their noodles are also good. And if you eat it quickly, the lemon chicken is great... not healthy but great.
So, I highly recommend them if you want a tasty and reasonable meal.
If you have to wait it will be worth it.

Ordered Basil Fried Rice with chicken. Well it was rice for sure but no basil found and few scraps of chicken. Rice were crunchy at times.

This restaurant is amazing! Everything is always cooked to perfection, even taking it home it is hot and crispy when we serve it. The honey almond chicken and fresh spring rolls are a must have. You will not regret giving Thai Orchid a try.

The best authentic Thai food period. I've eaten at many Thai restaurants over the years and I only come back to Thai Orchid time and time again. Service can be a little slow at times, but the food is so outstanding it is worth the wait.

No exaggeration, after ordering the chicken pad Thai (and asking for it to be a little spicy) for dinner last night, my wife and I finished the leftovers for lunch today and 3 hours later ordered it again for dinner because it is the best pad Thai either of us have ever had. My wife also enjoyed their red curry but the pad Thai is phenomenal and will definitely be a frequent dinner option for us moving forward. If you are hankering for some chicken pad Thai do yourself a favor and order from Thai Orchid!

Though it's definitely a small family owned restaurant and I haven't tried the food yet... just a couple of things. First pleas vacuum. Second I ordered my food they said 35 minutes so I showed up at 40 minutes to ensure it was done. I was told it would be another 15 minutes, now I can kind of understand as they were busy, however when I did come back in 15 minutes later, still no food and at that point I was told that my Pea pod mushroom entree wouldn't have mushrooms because they are out. Da hell... there are also people in here that have obviously sat down for dinner and it's gotten to the point where they want to leave without food. Recommend heading next door to lucky panda.

Thai Orchid’s food is always fresh and flavorful! They put in a lot of effort to make sure that every dining experience is satisfactory and with utmost quality. Pim is the biggest sweetheart and always makes sure her customers have a great experience. You can tell the family puts work before anything. I have been here a many times and every different dish I’ve tried has been absolutely delicious and the portions are more than reasonably priced as they are enough for two meals. I definitely recommend Thai Orchid, it is the best Thai food place around.

The food here was great, but the timing for takeout was very slow. I was told when I called that the food would be ready in about 30 minutes but it ended up being nearly an hour. I would give this place another shot to see if it was a fluke just because how good the food was (and also the good portion sizes for the price)

The food was pretty good. The owner is having health issues which is why she is closed sometimes without notice. There is a letter inside that explains. Please support them if you can.
I wouldn't recommend this place if you are in a hurry or are overly picky.

The reason I give it two stars is because though the food, prices and the peolple are really good, they are not reliable when it comes to the hours of operation. The schedule would give the times and dates and the last two times ivI' been there is closed. The never answered the phone and there is no answering phone system to leave a message or a reason why they are closed.

We ordered food for delivery which was a debacle in and of itself. I should have followed my instincts and just cancelled order then, but I was hopeful because the menu looked so good. My mistake. By the time food got to us the noodles in two of the dishes were a solid mass of goop. Inedible goop. The chicken egg roll was tasteless, and the pad pea pod and mushroom was just awful. Maybe if we dined at the restaurant the food would be better but at this point we'll never know. We threw everything in the trash and will not be wasting our money again.

Came from Florida to visit family and Thai is my favorite. It seemed very quiet when walking in but the atmosphere felt family oriented which there were kid friendly activities such as books. The server was very nice and came at appropriate times to check in. Food was surprisingly better than a it of Thai restaurants. Was quite impressed !

We ate at this restaurant for the first time today. The service was great. This is a small family run restaurant. The food is cooked to order and was prepared in a very acceptable time frame. We had 2 appetizers, both excellent. One of us asked for super spicy soup and he was very pleased with the flavor and the heat. We both enjoyed our main entrees, as well as the tea. Kenny was a very charming and attentive host.

We had a reservation and asked for a booth since Hugo's packs in table on top of tables. Needless to say we arrived on time but were informed there were no booths??? Why take requests??? We were seated at a table in the middle btween the booths and another set of tables.

Very cozy place. Pot stickers were amazing. The chicken pad thai came in a big serving but the flavor was alright. The server is a teenage boy, probably the son of the owners, and he did not seem like he enjoyed being there very much.

Stay away from this restaurant. They never open on time. It says it would open at 12:00pm , but we have waited for more than 30 minutes , no one shows up. Very slow on service too. Bad bad bad!
