What a wonderful experience for my family here! Everything about this place was spot on. The setup and ambience is super cute..so calm! The owner has decorated this place with her heart. Food was delicious and service was fast. What I really liked is that food was not greasy at all. We are vegetarian and there were so many options for us. Highly recommend!
Very flavorful food and amazing energy! May I add that when the restaurant was expanding the owners decided to not kill the tree on their property but instead built the dining room around the tree!
Additional parking can be found in the lot next to the parking lot right behind the restaurant.
Papaya salad: Flavorful, fresh and delicious
Flat wide noodles: Texture was perfect
Price: So fair!
Highly recommend!
Best Thai food on the island for me!
I got the drunken noodles and I LOVE that they were actually spicy (but not killing my mouth haha). So much flavor and well cooked food!
I also tried some of my mom’s green curry + sticky rice and that was packed with delicious flavor as well.
Definitely coming again! So good.
Such a beautiful local restaurant in the Kaimuki/Pālolo/Pālolo Valley area! Amazing food! Amazing service! Beautiful atmosphere!
I recently dined at Red Elephant Thai and had a fantastic experience! The food was absolutely delicious, especially the green curry and pad see ew dishes. The green curry was rich and flavorful, with just the right amount of spice, while the pad see ew had a perfect balance of savory sauce, tender noodles, and fresh vegetables. The portions were generous, and the presentation was excellent. The atmosphere of the restaurant was warm and inviting, making it a great spot for both casual meals and special occasions. I highly recommend Red Elephant Thai for anyone craving authentic and tasty Thai cuisine!
Red Elephant Thai Cuisine is bold, rich, and flavor with each dish, and with every bite you take can be a medium to very hot experience. The various texture can lead the individual to a hot and crunchy or a soft and flavorful food excursion. The host and server were friendly and attentive. They also have plenty of tables for large groups.
Of all the things we ordered, I really liked the beef fried rice. The chicken panang was also very good with the right consistency and spice level. It was nearly empty when we came in and was not busy at all so it made our dinner much more enjoyable although it did take a while for orders to come.
If you want Truly Authentic Thai Dishes then this is the place to go. The restaurant caught my eye while going to a local Buddhist temple and they did not disappoint. They took great care in even making my Thai Iced Tea! Check the photo. I am so spoiled now that every time I want Thai food again I will only go there. The atmosphere was amazing and tranquil. Need to go back for dinner with the place lit up!
The food is satisfying and tasty !
It was very good now its not. Sorry 💔
Very well prepared affordable Thai food. Chicken Larb, eggplant tofu basil stir fry, papaya salad, evil jungle and green curry are my favorites.

We had the pad see yew spicy and green curry spicy and it was delicious
. For dessert it was the fried roti with ice cream and wow, don’t be deceived by the simple appearance it’s SO good! Service and atmosphere was lovely as well. There’s a tree going through the restaurant which is a nice touch that adds to the eclectic feel.
The Flan and Ice cream desert is probably the best desert ever. The ice cream isnt given to you half melted, the flan is crispy and drizzled in choclate sauce. The sauce isnt overly sweet and only makes attempts to grab your attention while the ice cream and crispy flakes come into the forefront.
They have a large, gold Mosquito God hanging from the ceiling that probably attracted some insect followers, the staff noticed and immediately brought out an anti insect fan. They were very attentive.
The golden mosquito god is not to be trifled with.
Got take out from here and though I had a great experience when dining in I was very disappointed with the takeout. The containers came half empty. Like embarrassingly where if I put both our meals together it would just fill the box. And when asking for a side of chili paste they charged me for it and then didn't even put it in the bag. So the magic ingredient to thai food (spice) was absent from my meal and it was pretty disappointing.
The pad siew was excellent. The noodles were VG. Kinda $$.
お店の雰囲気がとても素敵です。
食べ物はボリュームを考えると良いと思います!
夕方早い時間だと外のテラス席は眩しい可能性もありますが、デートでぜひ!
いまは夜のみの、営業だそうです。

Unfortunately, our experience did not live up to what other reviews claim. Since this was delivery, all I can speak on is the food.
First, the flavors were a bit off. As a couple that has had a lot of Thai food, we weren’t too keen on some of the flavor. The Pad Thai had a ketchup sweet kind of taste to it and the chicken sat-eh was almost flavorless.
The curry flavor was better, but it was very runny, almost like chicken noodle soup. And I can not figure out why there were a million small cut pieces of lime leaf. Every bite, I had to pull lime leaf out of my mouth to the point, I stopped eating it because it was such a hassle and took away from any enjoyment of the food. First, there is no need for that much lime leaf, and second, you should never be chopping leaves that aren’t meant to be chewed and swallowed… You leave them whole, like bay leaves, otherwise the eating experience is ruined.
Sadly, we tried Red Elephant as a new option, but I don’t believe we will be ordering again.
Nice hidden gem. Authentic Thai food with rich flavors. Very reasonable price. I like what they did to the outside seating area. Great atmosphere.
Parking is very limited at the restaurant so you may have to park in the nearby area. Plenty of places to park if you don't mind walking few minutes.
Red Elephant Thai Cuisine" is often praised for its delicious, authentic Thai flavors, and it stands out for several reasons. Here's why some people might consider it one of the best:
1 Authentic Thai Flavors: The restaurant typically focuses on traditional Thai recipes, with a variety of dishes that feature the vibrant, bold flavors of Thailand—spicy, sour, sweet, and salty—all balanced beautifully.
2 Fresh Ingredients: Many fans of Red Elephant emphasize the freshness of the ingredients used, especially in dishes like Thai curry, pad Thai, and stir-fries. Fresh herbs, spices, and vegetables elevate the flavors.
3 Diverse Menu Options: Red Elephant often offers a wide range of choices for different tastes and dietary preferences, including vegetarian, gluten-free, and meat-lovers' options. This diversity allows it to cater to a broad audience.
4 Consistent Quality: One of the hallmarks of great restaurants is consistency, and many regular patrons return to Red Elephant because the quality of food and service is reliable every time.
5 Great Atmosphere: Many locations focus on creating a warm, inviting atmosphere that complements the experience of dining in Thailand, making it more than just a meal but a cultural experience.
If these elements align with your tastes, Red Elephant could definitely feel like the "best" restaurant for Thai cuisine. Of course, the "best" restaurant is subjective and depends on personal preferences, but it’s certainly a favorite for many.
Great Thai food, best we have had in Hawaii. They have really nailed the decor as well, feels very Thai!
Great, spacious indoor and outdoor atmosphere. Good portion sizes and a wide menu variety.
Adorable outdoor seating, and fantastic food. Love their curries especially! Lots of good Thai food on this island but I keep coming back to enjoy their food and beautiful outdoor seating.
I like vibe and food but server in mini skirt unprofessional she not even seat me!! she told me grab any seat!! the way she talk and act is not nice I know restaurant busy but if she doing job like this just stay home no need to work l want to pay for good food and good service and hope the owner let she fix her attitude and service mind

Delicious food! Good portions and relaxing atmosphere. Unfortunately their phone number doesn’t work and they have an online order section in their website and that doesn’t work either/unavailable.
They adapt the dishes to vegan. Delicious drunken noodles and peanut curry soup. Limited parking
Loved the pineapple fried rice.
Of all the things we ordered, I really liked the beef fried rice. The chicken panang was also very good with the right consistency and spice level. It was nearly empty when we came in and was not busy at all so it made our dinner much more enjoyable although it did take a while for orders to come.
Just ate here. Everything was delicious. I've been here two times previously. Each time I go I order something different. It is always delicious. I recommend everything I've had. Go here and eat good food. If you are not into spicy foods ask for mild, it's still delicious.
We love the food here!
Delicious. Had the Papaya Salad and Fried Fish with Sweet Chili sauce.
Pretty good Thai food. The duck curry I've' have much duck, but the vegetables in it were good. Chicken pad Thai was good, but I've had better. Pleasant and moderately priced, but I don't know that will be back.
Got the phad thai, was quite bland. Very sweet and not spicy at all. Also got the crab curry and the crab seemed overcooked, the curry itself wasnt too bad. Would not buy again.
One of my frequent spots to get Thai food. I love the ambience of this place, you can choose indoor or outdoor seating. There's plenty of seating but not as many parking spots available. Most of the food I've tried has not been disappointing, the staff are warm and efficient. The food also comes really fast and you can choose your spice level from mild, medium to hot. I have ordered Thai green curry, spring rolls, pad ki mao (drunken noodles) and this place has won my Southeast Asian stamp of approval. The place is usually not crazy busy and situated in Kaimuki which is pretty close to where I work so the location is convenient for me.
It's our awesome neighborhood Thai place; what else can I say? Panang curry is my go-to and tofu summer rolls if we're extra hungry. Love that there's a tree growing up inside it, good vibes all around <3
Latest visit still enjoyable, still tasty food, great service. There were 7 of us. We each choose a dish and shared family style. Perfect amount of food. Parking was a challenge. Ended up across the street at the Times/Longs shopping center.
Parking lot in back. Great food. Friendly staff. Fun decor- restaurant dining area deck is built around a mature tree, giant fly shaped made out of coconuts. Average portion size for the price ~$15/dish. Steady flow of take out orders while we were there.
Try the Pa Nang Curry. You won't be disappointed. Enough in one order for two people, with two orders of rice, and an order of flat noodles. $26. So yummy. 😋 There's a piano in the dining room too!
Unfortunately they forgot to put all the sticky rice for my order that was for the curries. Their only solution was to refund the rice money. I had guests over and one of them had to drive get it which defeats the whole purpose of ordering a delivery.
Food was good so maybe better go eat in person then ordering.
Great place. Now has a bar.
This restaurant has the best Pad See Ew I've ever had. We were only in town for a few days and went to Red Elephant twice because it was that good. The only slight challenge we had was parking, but it worked out for both of our visits.
Good food good price. Love it.
Excellent authentic Tai food.
Very tasty and healthy.
Recommended by locals. Fabulous everything!
Delicious food! Love the authentic quality dishes. Perfect to order family style and share with the table. Options to choose how spicy you like— I like spicy and I recommend “hot” for good tasty spice level. I could eat here 3x per week and order different food each time, all sooooo good! :)
Food was bland, server was really nice. Overpriced for what you get
Almost 20 bucks for a chicken pad thai that barely had any chicken in it and it was not a big portion. It was also not ready for the pick-up time.
They never answer the phone. I try to call about 10x + times to order food. Then when we get the food, my husband's food barely has any chicken in his dish, Yellow Curry.
Great decorations and cool seating!
Great environment, food was tremendous, and it felt like a nice spot to hang out and soak in the Hawaiian vibe. Highly recommend it.
Amazing restaurant! The service was friendly, helpful and engaging. The food was delicious! Every meal was fantastic! If I could give more stars, I would!
Best spicy shrimp Pad Thai I’ve had in a while. Will be returning, possibly to dine it!
Prices have gone up and portions have gone down. Over $16 for a small plate of ground beef with some cabbage and no rice.
Really unfortunate because used to be one of my favorite places.
Waitress said I could make a reservation but couldn’t reserve a table? What would happen if I came for my reservation and every table was full? That’s why she’s a waitress and not a doctor I guess.
Really lovely place so such a shame. Guessing they got new owners because none of the old staff is there. Wasn’t such a rip off before and food was better and portions were bigger.
Yummy food there and sometimes they have a pianist.
JUN 2023 : We’ve been here numerous times now, and the food continues to be outstanding. More recently, the restaurant got its liquor license, and offers a mediocre selection of standard alcoholic drinks. Corkage is $10 for a bottle of wine or a six pack of beer. The menu has also been re-printed and tables rearranged.
A good choice if you’re looking for gluten-free food on Oʻahu. We still love this place.
MAR 2022 : Smokey eggplant with pork & shrimps salad is the bomb. Beef laab / larb good, too. It wasn’t unexpected, slight sweetness to some of the foods, but thankfully it wasn’t overpowering, and the mix of savoury, spicy, and bright acidity was delightful. BYOB.
We love the outdoor seating area, and the entire restaurant’s décor is warm and cosily thematic.
I love this place. Drunken noodles are my favorite.
8 of us went to dinner dor a celebration. We were allowed to bring our own wine, with a 10.00 corkage fee. The red curry was a huge HIT.. Clams.. a must.. sizziling beef . Pinapple fried Rice...Ginger Vegy n Fried Tofu.. The chef was on last night, and it showed. There is sooo much competition here. When you find a place life this, its important to post reviews. WAY UNDER PRICED... I forgot photos, but ill be back.
Food was delicious. Wished ingredients matched the menu though.
The restaurant served tofu that was going bad. When we told the waitress she didn't do anything about it and just brought us our bill. We asked for the manager and she gave us 10% off which was really lame. They said that we should have told them earlier but we weren't sure what was bad as it was only the tofu. Additionally the waitress never was around to ask for service. Would not recommend! Atmosphere was great but the service was beyond bad.
I drive past this restaurant all the time without ever noticing it. My wife and I decided to try someplace different. It's a small hole in the wall gem! Though it was just off the main road it was a very nice atmosphere inside. The decor matched that feeling as if you were off the beaten path. The food was served fast....the food was great!!! DEFINITELY going to be dining here again!!!
Great food at a great price. The decor was great too
#Grateful Love ❤️ you guys ❤️ mahalo
Curry was delicious. Bbq Steak dish was not good at all. They forgot our 2nd dish. I asked and they brought it way after the 1st dish. I was already almost full at that point.
Service was slow. Barely ever filled up water. Place wasn't even crowded. Not a lot of parking. Had to park across the street and cross a major road. Bit scary.
I ordered Pad Thai and I expected more of a peanut taste but it didn't have it at all. The plus side is you can BYOB and the atmosphere is fun. The waitress was very good.
Great Thai food!
Great vegetarian/vegan options
In a search for cashew chicken. It has been very hard over the years but this restaurant had a far superior dish.
Having a tree inside your restaurant is a big plus! Unfortunately, I got four mosquito bites the first time I ate there! Food was good, tho... So good I got a second order to go! On my second visit, I tried two different curries and preferred the green to the evil jungle prince.
Fresh ingredients
When in doubt, order Pad Prik Khing. Authentic? This place is 100% and has Thailand vibes. Tried 3 different dishes and all were great. Left a star out because of the additional charge for rice.
Food was good. Nice decor. Quick service.
Authentic Thai food, with a gorgeous little venue. They have live piano music Saturday nights. The only reason I didn't give the service a 5 star review is because I occasionally order take out from this location, and the line is very hard to get through. Sometimes I give up, and order takeout from somewhere else.
The food is amazing, and the gal that helped me place my to go order was the best! First time customer, and she made the best suggestions! I'll be back. A+++
Cool vibe, reminds me of Bali, and the food is outstanding. I got the veggie fried rice, papaya salad, and pad Thai.
I love Thai and this is probably the best one I've ever been to. This is actually my only review left for a restaurant. It's that good. the tom yum seafood was flavorful and savory. can't wait to try all others on the menu (there are a lot)
Nice place to eat some good Thai food. Good option for vegetarians and the outdoor seating on the covered patio is very nice and has a good ambience. Enjoyed our lunch here with kids.
We came in right as they opened. It’s a cute place with a very nice decor. Parking is in the back and it’s a beautiful set of scenery. However, the food came out one dish at a time, with other customers being served their food before us even though we were one of the first people there. We didn’t leave after two hours because the dishes took a long time.
On the other hand, the food was delicious. It tasted very home made and the portions were generous.
We ordered for delivery again the next day. We ordered right as they opened. The first driver bailed on our order because it was taking far too long to complete the order. The second driver stole our food and we found this out through the third driver. The restaurant refused to remake our food, as they said it was a waste of money on their part.
The phone call was extremely unhelpful and hostile. Our family works in a restaurant and we understand how the process works, so we were taken aback by how the result ended up.
They seemed understaffed. I hope they get the help they need in order to push out orders. The food was delicious and the staff remaining seemed stress and frazzled. Give this place a try, but be prepared it might be a longer or more frustrating endeavor than you bargained for.
Best Thai in Hawaii. Hands down.
delisous fod grate survece wil com bak
Good service, food was extremely flavorful. It tasted fresh and homemade
Table service is excellent and the servers are incredibly kind. The reason for the 3 star is that the food isn't half as good as it used to be and is twice as expensive as it was. Maybe it was an off day and the chef was out of town😕 Expected more. Still keeping my hopes high.
This is my absolute favorite Thai food in town! The staff is always very kind and the food is AMAZING every time.
Food was great. 5 starts. The reason for 2 stars is delivery. Ordered via uber eats at 7pm. Order said restaurant will deliver. Called restaurant at 8pm and they said it will take another 30mins. Called at 8:45 and they said they don't do delivery. Had to go and pickup the order. Had to wait another 10 mins at restaurant to pickup order finally at 9:30. Very bad experience
Our order took over 3 hours to be delivered after they said it would be 40 minutes. The worst part- this restaurant told the Postmates delivery guy that the food was ready so he sat there for almost an hour losing out on other deliveries. Totally horrible service.
Pad Thai was very bad, sweet like ketchup and no chicken.
Great Thai food, cute neighborhood restaurant, great service, called last minute for food for 13 people.
The food was excellent! Thoroughly enjoyed it.
Food was great! We ordered the spring rolls, Beef pho, and the sticky mango rice and it was all perfect!!
Great Thai place
Best Thai food on Oahu and I've tried quite a few. Nice piano music too.
Well it’s not that it didn’t taste bad, but it wasn’t really good. He price was so high, for something so disappointing. I expected a lot better food from a price so high. So to outer TheReporterOfTheWeek: “My disappointment is immeasurable and my day is ruined.” 😕
Some of the best Thai on the island! Delicious spring rolls, Jungle Curry and warm coconut chicken soup!
I ate here a week ago and was very happy with the experience. I got the Panang curry chicken and my friend had the pad thai noodles. We both agreed we enjoyed this place better than the other restaurants around. The ambiance is cool. It is like you are in someones home that was renovated into a restaurant. We sat next to a big tree which sits inside the restaurant. It's quaint and chill. They give you 5% discount if you pay cash but be sure to mention that if you do.
The wait for a togo order has been more than an hour! Totally unacceptable. Id love to know how my food tastes but I'm still waiting to just take it home!
Very comfy and yet still classy. The live piano show was a great touch! Food was delicious, ask for extra spice if that is what you seek. Mango tree growing through the ceiling, so cool!
Excellent
Nice little restaurant, organized theme that goes with the name. One bathroom for all. Fair prices and yummy food. We ordered the papaya salad laos style, fried chicken wings, fried chicken, pork basil stir fry, steamed fish with lime juice, tofu pad thai, and sticky rice. Everything had good flavor and just the right spice level as ordered. Friendly service, they weren't busy when we went at about 4:15pm on a Sunday, they had just opened.
Food was okish, service wasn't good for it being slow. Also beware this business charges you extra for using a credit card. Boo!
Amazing food.
The staff were great and we always dine in there. Clean and the staffs friendly.
The service was great and the food was very delicious and was made quickly compared to others place. We didn’t have to longer.
Wonderful food.
They open at 12 noon...I wish they would open sooner. Food is good. It's fun to eat family style!
Food was delicious. Got the panang curry and I left no leftovers. Took it to go, but the dining room of the restaurant and the staff were perfect. Not the best thai Ive had on island, but if youre in the neighborhood, definitely worth a try and a good price.
OK food but the seat cushions are brick hard.
Very very popular
This place is great. The food was excellent. Service outstanding. We have 2 young kids and they were very accommodating. Highly recommend!
Super friendly staff, decent prices, and really good tasting food. The location makes parking difficult especially during busy hours. It is easier to park across the street at Times supermarket. Spring rolls are the best
One of the best place to have authentic Thai food. They usually take time to being your food but the food worth waiting. We were having a get together and we had a Thai friend with us. Even she was amused with the taste of food. Limited parking so if you go there at peak hours you can choose street parking or you can park at Home Depo and walk about 5 min, but Home Depo close parking around 7:30 so pick you car before that or will be locked for whole night.
Nice taste and menu range.
I love Red Elephant Thai Restaurant .. Best Thai on the island!
My favorite is Pad Thai with chicken (w/o tofu:) and Drunken Noodles. The restaurant has a great atmosphere with many beautiful personal touches that enhance the unique interior and patio of the restaurant. The live tree as the centerpiece of the patio is spectacular.
I have also used Red Elephant to cater a small party (35 guests) and it was outstanding service and food.
I highly recommend Red Elephant if you love authentic Thai cuisine. Bon Appetit 🥂 🇹🇭
Really good Tom Kha soup, spring rolls, Thai Tea. So I started with the fresh Spring rolls, dipped in a savory peanut sauce. Then had a Thai Tea to go with a big bowl of Tom kha soup, which was filled with a bunch of seafood.
It was wonderful. Love the decor and great service. Definitely going back again.
First time there. Excellent food and price.
I had the best green curry I've ever had
By far the best Thai food on the island. Very cool atmosphere.
Great open air outdoor dining (indoor also), nice ambiance, ok service, above average Thai food. Thai fried chicken, larb and red curry pretty good.
Decided to try this Thai restaurant for the first time...Fantastic!!! Food is excellent and the service was great. We ordered the Pad Thai, Tom Kah, red chili pepper stir fry with sticky rice. All were tasty and flavourful. Will definitely return!! Let's support our Kaimuki restaurants.
I really like Thai food and since I moved from the North Shore to town I was looking for a good thai restaurant so I tried many around here. This one is definitely the best one. The food is delicious and the restaurant is really beautiful. I highly recommend this place. Mahalo Red Elephant Thai Cuisine for the ono food!
