Picked this place off the internet for a nearby place to eat while on a business trip. Was pleasantly surprised with this jewel. Great location, nice atmosphere inside, food served quickly and was delicious. Savannah, our server, was friendly and helpful. After being served the delicious food I knew I had to leave a review for this restaurant, and I don't normally feel compelled to leave reviews. I look forward to coming back to Sang's! There were even some charming outdoor tables and it was a beautiful day to eat outside.
Beautiful downtown location. Our lunch was served quickly with no wait and it was delicious! Outside seating is available and very nice. Parking was available right out front since we arrived early. Menu selection is excellent. I enjoyed the Pad Thai Chicken and the spring rolls are good as well. Definitely will come back again! Convenient downtown location with easy access to Interstate 75 & Interstate 16.
Only had time for a bowl of coconut soup, but it was perfectly prepared and flavorful. I love the way the owner comes out and circulates among customers to make sure everybody is happy. Lots of locals, including medical professionals. Prices are reasonable. Outdoor seating available for good weather days.
Tucked in the corner of Macon's downtown is Sang's. With outside seating in the spring and summer months, this is a great atmosphere for anyone to dine in. While parking can be a challenge due to the popularity of downtown, Sang's is definately worth the wait. They do have a bar inside and the decor is clean, slightly historic woth lots of natural wood tones throughout. The appetizers are delightful and the entrees are flavorful and satisfying.
Food was very good. I had the beef with Thai street noodles. Not spicy at all, but great flavor. My husband had the beef pad Thai. He said it was good and not spicy at all even though he asked for medium heat. Server was very friendly and helpful. Prices were fair. Will visit again.
Very good Thai food. The dishes are varied and authentic tasting. I like that they aren't afraid to use real heat here in the curry. Spring rolls were excellent. Only reason I didnt go 5 stars was price seems a bit high, and tofu should be an option for some of the dishes instead of meat.
Sadly, this place is closed permanently
Food is exceptional, service is great and the owner usually comes around to talk with guests. One of the best restaurants in Macon!
Called for take-out. Was told "can't have pork anything low on pork. No mango sticky rice with mango, completely out." Asked for my entree described it was told "yeah okay." My dish was sauteed chicken in honey glaze, light veggies and rice. No honey glaze was standard brown sauce. 2nd dish glass noodles with chicken and veggies. About tablespoon noodles. Was inedible.
ordered takeout and when I got home, found out that the curry that I had enjoyed the previous friday was not up to the same standard today. I went back to get a refund and the owner had an unapologetic attitude.
Expensive but all 8 of us enjoyed our meals.
Excellent food. Great atmosphere. Owner was super friendly and hospitable. I went during a time the restaurant was not busy and was able to order my food and continue traveling on the road. I had the Red Curry Seafood w/rice. It was de..lic..ious. Very flavorful w/a nice added extra lil' kick. If I'm in the area again , I'd definitely revisit Sang.
First time here enjoyed dinner with friends, one who loves this place. We arrived and there was only one other customer there. I was honestly concerned, but was pleasantly surprised with the food and service. I started put with an appetizer, EPIC Fresh Vegetarian Thai Fresh Spring Rolls with Peanut Sauce
Excellent food! Excellent waitress. Wait, that was the owner!
Was at a slow time so we got to enjoy a chat with the owner. Very lovely lady. Very good attitude. Talked while bustling about.
Will definitely be back.
Was terrible with the old management a few years ago. Now one of the prime options for downtown Macon.
The ambiance was awesome! It was my very first experience with a Thia restaurant and I must say the street noodles were very yummy and the Mango cheesecake cake with fresh coconut was soooooo delicious! Will definitely visit this place again. It's great for first dates, special occasion and even kid friendly.
Best restaurant in Macon! Wonderful food and quite reasonable. Everyone is so nice and attentive.
Good food!
Food was delicious only thing needed more beef the basil and chilli beef did not have much meat, the wing good, the place was really cozy and friendly

Food was good. Parking was ok but i think you need to get there early to find a good spot.
Best Thai restaurant ever! Amazing food, staff, and the chef is an artist in the kitchen! Authentic and flavorful, a new family favorite
Definitely the most authentic restaurant in Macon. Fantastic food and I deeply recommend.
Great food!
Very friendly staff and quick service. The food is very good and the atmosphere is nice and it's close to everything downtown without feeling too busy. It's great for a date night or for a larger group. Definitely get the spring rolls, they're a must.
Nice food
Sang's is a fantastic restaurant with a fabulous owner! The atmosphere and the food are only outdone by the wonderful and personable staff and service! Definitely a great place to dine when in Macon, GA! We will definitely be back!!
Went for lunch. Food was excellent.

Food is delicious spice level is little higher then other place, but overall good.
Quality food, service and affordable pricing.
Delicious food and great service. Can't wait to go back.
Love it ..the best Thai food I've ever had...
It's delicious!
Great food, great service, great food!!
I had the green Curry and it was the worst curry I had ever had. I don't know if it was just prepared wrong but it had no flavor.
Love this place, especially the Chicken Larb
Beautiful downtown location. Our lunch was served quickly with no wait and it was delicious! Outside seating is available and very nice. Parking was available right out front since we arrived early. Super good! THANK YOU!! Fresh Eggrolls...
Delicious food
Great food
Delicious fresh hot food...eat in or take out! There is a bar and a calm, ambient atmosphere. Perfect for a first date or any date.
Super good food. The owner is always there making food amd talking to the customers. Very nice
Nice place, good service. Only tried the pad thai which was too sweet for me. I guess the food is kind of americanized.
Awesome food and the owner is great!
Wonderful atmosphere, great service, and the food was phenomenal!! Will definitely be back.
I love Sang! Incredible atmosphere, Great Thai food!! Made with a whole lot of love!
Awesome food and great service. The owner walks around and talks with patrons - nice touch! Best thai in middle Georgia!
Pretty good to have once and a while. It's different but in a good way
Good service and food.
I visited when they first opened. This location has historically been cursed (one business closing after another), but the owner seems to have it together. She made me and my family feel like her family and even talked "business" with us about how she ordered new supplies from the Asian market in Atlanta like every day to make sure the ingredients were fresh. Definitely ads flare to the already diverse and artistic downtown Macon scene.
Great attention and good food here!!
Good, inexpensive
I was at Sang's for the first time weekend before last, had good food, good service BUT the soup I ordered was so incredibly HOT there was no way to eat it for at least 20mins, I burned the roof of my mouth although I was cautious!!! I questioned server about the temperature, " its prepared to each individual order", not a logical answer, the soup was in a giant bowl and was almost to boiling point. Be careful if you order any soup at Sang's. The spring rolls also had a wrap that was a bit too thick and the peanut sauce was runny. Its OK Thai, but not great Thai..
Great food! The steak was amazing.
Very good Thai food. The dishes are varied and authentic tasting. I like that they aren't afraid to use real heat here in the curry. Spring rolls were excellent. Only reason I didnt go 5 stars was price seems a bit high, and tofu should be an option for some of the dishes instead of meat.
Sangs is is wonderful place to eat. Food Is delicious, fresh and well prepared. The service is good, prompt and polite.
Had lunch....went back for dinner!
The best restaurant in Macon
My new favorite Thai restaurant it is very affordable fresh delicious and awesome wait staff
Awesome 🍲
Delicious! I come here about very 2 weeks. Plenty of vegetarian options. You can choose how hot you'd like your meal. Prompt service. Reasonable prices.
Having lived in Washington, DC my entire life, and have dined at some great Thai restaurants, I initially thought I would need to travel to Atlanta to satisfy my desire for good Thai cuisine. I was so wrong, and so blessed, to find exceptional Thai food in our own wonderful community! This is the REAL thing folks!!! Another example of many unique gems offered in our amazing city, Macon!!
Food to sweet

Best Thai food on the planet, plus Sang is a magnificent lady!
Only had time for a bowl of coconut soup, but it was perfectly prepared and flavorful. I love the way the owner comes out and circulates among customers to make sure everybody is happy. Lots of locals, including medical professionals. Prices are reasonable. Outdoor seating available for good weather days.
Went here for the first time on 4/14/18......My wife and I really loved this place! The food and atmosphere were fantastic and our server, Kara, was Awesome! 5 Star Restaurant all the way! Authentic Thai food.....We will be back for sure 😊
Was in Macon giving a lecture and host took me here for dinner. Outstanding food and other/chef came out to talk about her food and answer questions. Good was delicious although starter was more than it needed to be.... So I took the extra home. Definitely go
First time here food and service is alright.
Curry is so good. Will be back.
My wife and I went there for or anniversary dinner and I had the T bone steak I have to say it was the best I have ever eaten.
The food was fantastic. The owner is warm and makes you feel at home
Loved it.

We love the friendly staff and the fabulous food!
Went for my birthday. Terrific! Will go back soon.
Oh that soup has me up at night thinking, wanting, drooling. Yum
Simply awesome food!!!!! Friendly attentive service.
Just amazing food and staff
Another enchanted experience at Sang's. The Pad Woon Sen was delicious with tender beef and velvet-like glass noodles. The tomato chicken, a Sang's original from the old restaurant, was also quite tasty. Even a custom kitchen request for a particularly picky patron was welcomed and a delightful evening was had by all.
This Thai restaurant sucks. I’ve traveled the world and this is the worst. I was visiting family and wanted to check it out. My food had a bug in it and wasn’t cooked well. When I informed the waitress, she didn’t care. She acted as though she didn’t want to be at work. When I asked for the manager, she said, “she’s not here”. What manager is not in the building during business hours? The decor Is lacking style. What a shame to the Thai culture. Wanted not to give any stars but it wouldn’t let me post without it.
Try the lettuce wraps. Seriously.
I was nearly heartbroken when she closed 20 yrs ago. I nearly wrecked as I drove passed and saw she'd opened up again when I tried to do a happy dance on the back of my chopper. Have been back many times now and the food is just as great as it was then. LOVE this lady's personality as much as her great food.
Excellent. I had the red curry, asked for a little more spice and it was perfect. Great service, will definitely come back.
The staff here is very nice. It's family owned and uses their personal recipes. That being said, their Panang curry had several bay leaves in it. I'd really prefer if they were removed.
Very pretentious and the food is boring and lacks imagination. I've eaten Thai cuisine in cities coast to coast...lil holes in the wall, to world famous establishments...Sang's lacks SO much. I do not consider it authentic at all.
Best Thai Macon has ever had.
For the love of God Almighty, try this restaurant! I had the Basil chicken, and it was glorious!
Great Thai food and great service.
Great food. Seating crowded with walker. Hardly room to get to cramped seating. Service excellent. Owner appreciated us. If not for crowding would be 5.
Delish but small portions..... Chicago
While the flavors and menu stay true to Thai cooking and offerings, jasmine Rice is best served same day it's cooked, mine ha a yellowish hue typical of rice cooked 24+ hours ago. That's a turn off and damages the experience, I'll consider a revisit in the near future.
Appitzer was ok. Main dish was half raw. They offered another dish but my appetite was gone. I paid for the entire meal.
One word...FANTASTIC! This was me and my wife's first time here, by way of a friend's invitation. The Pad Thai was delicious and the tiger steak was cooked to perfection. This is a place I will be visiting again.
Service and staff were also top-notch. It was really great meeting Sang and getting to chat with her.
One of my new favorite places! L
Very good all the time!!!!
Wasn't thrilled. Waitress got order wrong, didn't bring an app. Food wasn't very flavorful, a crime with Thai. Not horrible, but needs improvement. It's no Lemongrass, but it beats the one across the street.
Food is garbage. It doesn't matter how much they decorate the place the food still isn't as good as Ladda. Their servers are lame af too.
The food!!! And the staff is friendly.
Awesome restarant that has become a regular place for me! Love the Tom Kha soup as well as the pad tai! I order something different everytime I go in and haven't been disappointed yet! Great addition to downtown macon
My first visit there today and the food was amazing. Everything cooked to order.
The Crying Tiger Steak was delicious.
No kids menu, fried rice was boiled, just kinda plain
Appetizers were fine. All dinner dishes that we ordered, including Thai ice tea, were quite below par.
Good food and service. Small, full space but well appointed and doesn't feel too cramped. Had the Pad Thai, fresh rolls, curry. All very good. They didn't have Thai beer yet, but said they're working on it.
The good food. If you're into Thai food, you should definitely try this place.
First experience was ok. Second time going I ordered Thai cashew chicken, the Gai Pad Khing a ginger flavored dish for the kids and my husband ordered the Paanan Curry. My food and kids food tasted like it was drowned in Soy sauce and salt and was not edible. The kids dish tasted like they didn't even use a pinch of fresh ginger at all. My husband dish had no seasoning altogether and only tasted like coconut milk. The manager came out and we explained and he saw that we had not touched our food and still unfairly charged us 80% of the bill. Needless to say we will not be going back. So here's a tip. Sample the food before serving it to the customers, learn how to cook or get some helpful hints from actual Thai people on how it is supposed to taste.
The food was amazing and came out fast
Such a nice eatery venue! We used to go a lot to the owner's previous establishment 20years back and I missed the fact that at the time between then and now, Macon had lost it's only true Thai restaurant. That being said, our palette tends to be more bland biased and foods that have too much salt and "Flavor" become difficult to enjoy when you truly want to taste the essence of the dish... not some overpowering flavor designed to hide the taste of ingredients. For my Wife and Daughter and I, the food was just perfect... for us, the food could not be better for Thai food in Macon, GA. You'd be hard pressed to find a better establishment. we went in at 6PM on Friday and it was easy to sit, easy to order, easy to be amicable to the staff and owner, easy to get our food which was Pad Seafood, papaya salad (pretty spicy for us bland food lovers), Pad Se Leaw (my daughter's 2nd choice), Keow Teow Noodles (similar to Viet Pho, but much better tasting without the super salty Pho broth). Other reviews might claim that the food was too bland... but I'd blame that subjective conclusion on their addiction to excessive salt, sugar, monosodium glutamate, and all the other sodium based flavors. At least the salt, and sauces are available at your disposal to season the meal to your liking. Their meals so far are perfect and if it did have too much flavor to begin with, it would be very difficult to remove instead of add. Can't wait to go again and maybe try something new!
The Yum Nough is the absolute best. Quick service and fresh food. Classic Thai food.
Delish!! Outdoor seating, great food, great service. If you are looking for a quick work lunch in and out in 30-35 min. If you looking for a great place to have lunch with friends outside and stay 2 hours and even enjoy a glass of wine GREAT SPOT!
I stopped in for takeout and was pleasantly surprised. The decor was trendy, the guy taking my order (who I believe was the owner) was friendly, and when I got back to the office, I was delighted by the taste of my red curry with chicken. I plan to return with my wife for a seated meal.
Very delicious. They have real sticky rice and Thai salad....
Food was very good. I had the beef with Thai street noodles. Not spicy at all, but great flavor. My husband had the beef pad Thai. He said it was good and not spicy at all even though he asked for medium heat. Server was very friendly and helpful. Prices were fair. Will visit again.
I had the spring rolls to start, and they were delicious, and fresh! The Thai Street noodle dish, was also amazing! I was full, prices were fair, and the staff was friendly. Definitely be back.
Food is ok, too many tables in a small space, and horrible service!
We came to the restaurant at the suggestion of a bank employee. We had toured Mercer University so we were hungry and tired. The restaurant decor and location was great. However the servers were not very attentive when we arrived. The food was good until I found a hair in my veggie spring roll. I brought this to the attention of my server and it seemed she had no interest in my being upset about a long curly hair in my spring roll. I also notified the manager, when he came around checking on the tables. He asked if I wanted more spring rolls. I politely declined. Why would I want more food that may have hair it? The remedy for me would be taking it off the bill but that was not even offered. Needless to say, I will not be returning.
