Our first visit not good! The food was fair, but cold. We paid $40 for VERY small portion. It was like our food was someone’s leftovers! Will not be back! Eating out these days is a crap shoot.
UPDATE on 12/4:
Not only is the food terrible and prices high, but the owner also responds to feedback on Google with a poor attitude. Good luck staying in business ! Changing my review from 2 Star to 1 Star!
We went here on a whim on our way back to Atlanta and were extremely surprised by the quality and presentation of the food. My girlfriend (chinese) loved that the deserts were not overly sweet and that the noodles were cooked authentically (which is hard to find in Atlanta). She was also exhausted from the 4 hour drive and long vacation, and eating here put a smile on her face👍(worth a generous tip). I can easily recommend this place to anybody.
We just went to Lamai Ban Thai and while it was great before it is MAGNIFICENT now. Everything we ate was so delicious and the ingredients fresh. They recently got new owners who obviously are passionate about great and authentic Thai food. We definitely wish them best of luck and look forward to going back very soon
We had a great meal with appetizers. The service was fast and friendly from the time we walked in. I had crab Rangoon to start and Pad Kra Cow medium as a dinner the flavor was amazing from all the fresh vegetables to the sauce, rice was cooked perfectly. If looking for Thai food near Lake Oconee and Greensboro I highly recommend stopping by Lamai Ban
The three of us have eaten at the Thai restaurant twice recently. Both times the appetizers and the main course were excellent. The wait staff took care of all our needs in a timely manner. There was pleasant music playing in background. Highly recommend. We will add this to one of our favorite places to eat.
This place is on point! From the moment we walked in, so much stood out. The staff was constantly wiping down tables, the floors were clean, and everyone was friendly and inviting. So much detail went into this place. From the jazz music playing in the background to the dish presentation. Some places you go to will hide quality behind fancy spoon pushes and weird plate shapes. This place delivered not only the presentation but also the taste! We will definitely be coming back here!
The food was absolutely delicious! My husband had the garlic chicken fried rice, and I had the green chicken curry. I ordered mine "hot," and it was exactly the right amount of heat that you'd expect from a Thai dish. All of the flavors balanced out perfectly, and the presentation was among the most beautiful I've seen! This is a great local spot away from the busyness of 44, and I'm so glad we found it today! We will be back regularly!
Excellent food and service!
Much better...the new owner is doing much better.

I've never had Thai food before, it's ok. I didn't hate it, but it might just not be my cup of tea.

First time here. Food and service was excellent. I will be returning.
The Thai food is Fresh with great flavors! Friendly staff and Owner ! Must try the pumpkin 🎃 curry!

This is not authentic Thai. Go to Nans Fine Dining in Atlanta if that's what you want.
Best food in Greensboro
Love this place. Problem I haven't been able to go in a while since time had changed to afternoons. I have work I do in Greensboro with other work mates about 7 times a year. I can only make at lunch time but no lunch no visit but it is an excellent place to eat and the food is aroi mak. Delicious.

This is a great restaurant and exactly what this area needs.
Garlic swai white fish, chicken pad Thai & cashew chicken were excellent! I will be back for more delicious food!
Family and friends were in town for a wedding and chose this spot to go to the night before. It did not disappoint! Great food, great service, great staff.
Crab fried rice .

We really love having a Thai place here at Lake Oconee. This place delivers every time we visit. Love the Panang curry. My favorite place for Pad See Eiw and the crab Rangoon is awesome.
May 23rd.
First off this is a very nice quiet place to grab a bite to eat, highly recommend.
Now for my experience, imma keep it short and sweet, I ordered the Thai wings (small, lack flavor, overly dress presentation, the only positive is that they were "hot and crisp") not recommend. I also got the beef Thai fried rice (Great dish, absolutely loved it, smokey, flavorful, cooked very well 9/10) highly recommend.
For dessert I was recommend the roti by my waiter, to be honest the dish he brought me was completely Is unedible, soggy, grease filled flavorless pieces of triangle pastry dough, the best thing about this was the condensed milk with it, the dish they served ME (talking about my personal experience) was trash. Maybe yours was better, but mine... unacceptable. All in all amazing Entree dishes, lack luster apps and dessert. 3.5/5 would come back just for the fried rice.

Enjoyable experience with incredibly pleasant staff and delicious food. We ordered the Thai spring rolls, red curry and basil fried rice and loved it all. Will be back for sure!
Meh ….
Massaman curry was very good. And you MUST get dessert! Staff was super sweet. Great place. Will return!
Tasty Thai
Everything about this meal was nasty! Both my husbands dinner and mine were under cooked and raw, right down to the rice noodles. I had to come home and microwave mine to be able to eat it. The sauce was nasty tasting and the only way I could get it down was to put some rice wine vinegar on it. The chicken was tough and chewy. The vegetables were raw as were the noodles. I highly suspect there is not a Taiwanese chef cooking this food. It tasted like an American trying to cook Thai food , but didn’t know what they were doing! I will not be back.
The staff were attentive and took good care of us, but that’s the only positive thing I have to say other than the place was clean including the restrooms. Don’t go there for the food, if you’re going!
Delicious
Phenomenal. We are a two pilot crew overnighted here and my copilot grew up in Hong Kong / Thailand. He said this is spot on. Exactly what you’d get if you were in the capital.
We will be back every time we overnight near here.
August 2022 update: We again did take-out. Food was excellent although the servings appear to be a little smaller than last year. Crab Rangoon didn’t have a lot of filling. Prices seemed have gone up a little. Two entrees and an appetizer with no drinks was over $45. Still is one of our favorite area restaurants. 2022 photos have year date.
August 2021 update: another great meal. We ordered takeout. The place was packed, so I’d recommend reservations or takeout. This is great Thai so I’d recommend trying something new. The descriptions are great and the staff is very courteous and helpful. I tried Chicken Pad Kra Tiam and was not disappointed. So ditch the curries and go for an entree you have trouble pronouncing!!!!
May 2021 Update: We ordered take out and the food once again was excellent. Crab Rangoon were filed with a variety of ingredients. Chicken Penang Curry was flavorful. My Chicken Pra Ram, “Thai spicy” was the best I’ve had. Finally a dish spice enough to fully enjoy. Many restaurants won’t give you spicy because people return food that’s too hot for them. Spices were very well done not overwhelming, but complimented the dish. Parking is limited, but additional spaces are just down the strip mall.
2018 Review:Great Thai food, well beyond the usual curry dishes. We had an appetizer of shrimp in a blanket, I had a seafood dish called Hor-Mok Talay (I requested spicy) and my wife had pork garlic fried rice. For desert we shared sweet sticky rice. All great with exquisite flavors. Service was friendly and efficient. She was particularly patient when a table next to us didn’t know what to order. We also had beer and wine. Dining area was Thai atmosphere and a good size. If you want a meal that is truly different and will excite you taste buds, come here.
I love eating here! The staffs were so nice, everything just made by day here. 5 stars.
Delicious 😋, I had the duck with Thai rice, pineapple rice with shrimp and 2 serving of fresh shrimp rolls, it was all on point. My 5 and 7 year old loved it. Watch out for receipt shock. Will eat here as often as my budget will allow.
The food was alright. But there prices are way to high for what u get.
Because u can get the same thing at half the price in the restaurant in Miliageville
The food was just ok. It was missing an authentic taste when eating Thai food.
😒😒
went there today with a few friends the sweet tea tasted like chocolate milk don’t ask me how it just did crab rangoon was way to oily my black friend couldn’t even finish his chicken because it was so bad
Food wasn’t great , waiter was rude at the end
Very nice. Staff friendly. From a different part of Thailand than where I hang out! American fision. Very good tho. We will be back.
solid
Great adaptation of Thai food in America, which I don't think is easy. Tastes great. I ate my favorite dish of Beef Fried Rice with Tomatoes, and the Thai Salad tasted great. I bought it to eat at home. The taste is still delicious. If I eat it at the restaurant, I think it will be very delicious. I feel that it is not only delicious, it also feels the care of the food.
Just passing thru, stayed at a local hotel. Ordered takeout, the food was excellent. I highly recomend this place.
Very modest location but excellent food. They do great with combining savory meats, curry and spices. Would definitely go back. The staff is a awesome too. Very attentive and kind.
My wives go to and eats on her meal for 3 servings Everytime
Certainly the best Thai in the area! Excellent curries and standard Thai dishes, but they also have some seriously wonderful traditional appetizers and mains. Always a great experience.
This is a good place to eat for thanksgiving
Best Thai in Georgia
Excelente
We went a little over a year ago and the food was excellent, just visited recently and the ice water taste like dish water asked for bottled water ,no bottled water.the Thai tea was soured, ordered vegetarian panang curry, the vegetables weren't even slightly cooked, the eggplant was supposed to be sautéed, almost raw.the service was lacking.must be under new management.
Yummy fresh food that is a different dining experience.
Got vegetable green curry w brown rice. Delicious.
Phenomenal Thai. Moved from Chicago and this is as goid if not better than anything in the city
Very busy, small,but good
This restaurant definitely deserves your visit. The best dining experience as far as food quality in the Lake Oconee area in my two years in the area. I had the garlic fish and it was very well done. The price wasn't bad either.
Delicious!
This restaurant sits off the main drag, the food is good the service is great and now with this virus, there's social distancing, call in order and carry out.
Good food for sure. Nice service.
Tried it for take out for the first time after always seeing it busy at this out of the way spot. The red curry chicken was excellent. The dining room is cozy. Will be back to try more of the menu soon.
I had the spring rolls and red curry chicken. It was beyond delicious! Best food I've had since I can remember!!
Panang curry chicken was delicious!
A good choice of dishes. Family atmosphere. Generous amounts of good food.
Food was good. Service left slot to be desired.
Great food, good service!
This is one of our favorite restaurants! Their food is fresh and delicious! It never disappoints and the servers are so friendly!
Duck pad thai is delicious. Also favorite peanut sauce ever!
I've visited Lamai Ban Thai monthly for almost four years. The food quality is great - authentic Thai. However, the staff other than the owner/chef turn over rapidly, and they are very hit-or-miss. Dine-in is your best option, as the many errors made in your order can be corrected. If considering take-out, you should fully unwrap and inspect your order before leaving; there is ALWAYS an issue, and best detected right away. Things like missing steamed rice for entrees, wrong entree, missing appetizer, and entree not made to order, such as 'no onions,' occur routinely. Price is relatively high, though it would be worth it if the service matched the food quality. One last tip: don't bother with trying to get 'double meat' on your entree. You'll pay a lot for no discernible difference. 5-star food, 1-star service; 2.5 overall.
Great cuisine, flavors are wonderful and if you enjoy Thai food this is it without having to halfway around the world.
Excellent Yellow Curry with Shrimp and Cucumber Salad!!
I get the same thing everytime I go in there. Great place 👌
Wonderful!
One of my favorite restaurants in Greensboro. The food is better than any Thai restaurant I have ever dined at
Good food and great service.
This is one of our top places to eat at Lake Oconee. Actually, it's our favorite place now that I think about it. Wonderfully flavorful multilayered tastes - curry dishes are our fav.
Excellent Thai food!
Great authentic Thai food. Name your heat, and it’s perfectly done. Generous portions and beautifully presented.
Very good spring rolls!
Food and wait staff were wonderful !!
The food is delicious: well-prepared and beautifully presented. Try the spicy eggplant or garlic fish. Both are excellent.
Authentic Thai food. Friendly servers n lovely dining area. Highly recommend visiting.
Meal and service was very good
Thoroughly enjoy the food. Tucked away in a quite area but worth the short trip.
Good food. Nice place. Good service. Will be a go to restraunt for me. Highly recommend. Ask questions to get details of menu if unsure. Very helpful.
Always on point. To go takes very little time. Great friendly staff.
Around the area on business, found this great spot. Will definitely return, absolutely recommend. Was so full and satisfied with the delicious food. Appetizers, main dishes, drinks, all on point. Getting a craving for the fried shrimp in a blanket now....
First experience with Thai food
Food and service was excellent, must try the fried banana with coconut ice cream.
Great food. Low prices. Friendly service. Go there as often as possible.
Great food
Suprisingly delicious for a remote restruant. Could hold it's own with a big city Thai kitchen.
Love their pineapple fried rice
It was quiet and intimate, not to busy. My waitress Beth was very nice and helpful in describing items to my mom and I. The food was delicious as well, which was a plus.
Great green curry and pad prik Got Hot and it was! Perfect
Another great dinner..thank you!
Hands down the best Thai food south of Atlanta and west of Bangkok.
Excellent food and service. We eat here at least once a week.
Clean restaurant, pleasant waitresses, but the food lack the Thai spiciness that I know and love. Prices are comparable to other Thai restaurants that I visit. Doubt that I go back, just because there is better tasting Thai food elsewhere.
Good but not great food in a neutral bright and clean small (less than 20 tables) and quiet restaurant. It is not a place for a romantic dinner or a large party.
Good food but a little pricey. The staff was very friendly.
Great Thai curry and appetizers
Quiet but absolutely delicious food!
Love this little restaurant. The people are so nice. The food is delicious and authentic. The fried bananas with coconut ice-cream and chocolate sauce is very good. The service is excellent.
