Our first time here, and we were thrilled! Thai options are scarce in this area, so we were overjoyed to hear they’re just a ten-minute drive away. The trendy area is a great choice, with a variety of cuisines to choose from.
We love the idea of ordering at the screen and picking up our food when it’s ready. And the best part? No tipping! This way, they can focus on making the best food possible.
I had the basil fried rice, and my partner had the panang curry. Both were absolutely delicious! We didn’t have to wait long for our food, and the staff was very friendly.
Beautiful place to dine and interesting concept. But not a big fan of it ordering at kiosk, getting dessert before entree, not able to customize spicy level and getting shouted at every 5 min for an entree.
The food was plated nicely and looked good. The flavor is no where near authentic. Many dishes were bland and did not taste like an authentic Thai restaurant. And lastly the food is overpriced for the quality and the proportion amount. Photos are some of the items we ordered.
Ever since moving to this area from downtown, I really missed Thai food. So when I found out about this place via social media I really had high hopes. They touted the no-tip policy and the self service which in my mind means reasonable pricing. Who doesn’t want that in this inflationary economy? The atmosphere when you walk in is clean and cafeteria-esque, in-line with their concept of self service. Orders are placed via the kiosks when you walk in. The pricing however was a little bit jarring. Main dishes range between $15-$24 and smaller snacks/appetizers are $5-$16. I thought “the food has got to be really good for these prices.” We started with the Fried Chick which unfortunately came out over cooked, had the texture of jerky but was completely under seasoned. We also order the dumplings which at $8 for 5 was also bereft of any flavor. The Satay and Roti-Massaman wasn’t bad but they too were very bland. For main dishes we ordered the Pad Se Ew which was also heart healthy and lacked seasoning and Spicy Basil Chicken wasn’t bad but not memorable. Portions were on the smaller side but we didn’t even bother to take the leftovers home but, instead, shuttled them to the oddly specific waste stations. I can’t remember exactly but they had bins for cups, dishes, bowls and utensils or something like that. In all we spent just shy of $80 for two main dishes and three appetizers in a self service restaurant - not economical by any means. But considering the flavor and portion sizes it felt even more expensive. Maybe the lunch specials are better but weren’t offered over the weekend. In the end, I don’t mind paying a premium for food when it stands up but when the pricing is this high and the food this underwhelming it makes me feel duped by the advertising and the number of 5-star reviews by people with 1or2 review history. I might give it another try but not anytime soon.
I love the aesthetic of this restaurant. It is self service so you do not tip. The food came out fairly quick and it was delicious. I got the Tom Yum ramen. It was a little sweet for my liking but I still liked it. The Thai tea comes in a cute glass which I will definitely be reusing.
We visited this Thai restaurant for the first time, eager to experience something new. Unlike most traditional Thai restaurants, this one operates on a self-service model—customers place orders at a kiosk, retrieve their meals when ready, and find their own seating. This approach seems to be a growing trend, especially with rising food costs and tipping expectations. The restaurant also features a modern digital numbering system for order pickups, adding a touch of convenience. However, while the location is excellent—situated just across from the well-known Assi Plaza—the overall dining experience fell short of our expectations. Both the portion sizes and the quality of the food were average at best.
For this restaurant to build a loyal customer base, they may need to refine their flavors and increase portion sizes to better match the expectations of Thai cuisine enthusiasts.
This place was really really good! It was pretty busy when we stopped by and hard to find a seat, but they had just opened, so it was understandable.
There's a good variety of options including vegan options. The food was ready quickly and came out fresh! We'll definitely be stopping by again and trying other options on the menu!
Great food, made fresh and delivered fast!
Beautiful self service. As me myself I know one of the workers and he was an amazing worker. Shout out to this place! Shout out to EQ Possakorn!
What an awesome concept to ordering. Everything is handled by the customer. Order on an iPad and wait for your order. No hassle. Fast service
Food was very good! Fast service and great atmosphere. Definitely recommend!
Food was really good! The interior is also super cute
The food and atmosphere is amazing! For the amount of food and the price is unbelievable. I highly recommend!
Delicious food, Great atmosphere, and friendly staff. 10/10
I got the pad thai to try. Small portions for the price point. Even with the self serve concept, you’d think you’d be saving money “not tipping” and serving yourself but not really.
Food is very tasty will come back and recommend it
First time eating at Gu Thai and it was a lovely experience. The vibes and service here was great and food even better. Definitely recommend trying their Thai Tea!
The staff was super friendly, especially Suji who helped us when we made a mess (spilling the aforementioned Thai Tea 😭). Great spot for lunch if you’re in the area!
Food was delicious - order dumplings, Nam Khao, Tum Yum, Spring rolls, and Grilled Chicken. Everything was delicious, but the spring rolls were basic/normal. We did reorder a second helping of dumplings!
Nothing that we ordered was overly spicy, so for those who like heat, you may want to ask in advance how to make that happen.
While not opposed to the kiosk ordering process, the space for them are small and narrow, and you're brushing up shoulders with the people next to you. During a busy rush, I can see this being a huge bottleneck/problem.
The ambiance is nice!
Nice food, and ambiance
Good service, i love mango sticky rice & thai tea. Tom yum is not my style, its salty & not sour spicy
The place is beautiful and the experience has been great.
The Thai Tea was great!
It's awful the chicken looks like it's from yesterdays leftovers. It's hard & so dry. The papaya salad is bad. Everything I got is awful including the Pad See Ew.
The papaya salad, chicken and sticky rice is $28 and the noodles is $17. This will my first & last ever going to this establishment. I wouldn't recommend to anyone. So disappointed with the prices with how bad the quality of food is.

Food was good enough. It’s priced to include tips. But if you don’t have servers, every ingredient should be listed on each item for ordering. We received our soup five minutes after our main meal and it was full of cilantro which was not listed. So the whole soup tasted like soap to us bc he have that cilantro gene. Lots to fix here and truly, the coconut soup is MID. Unfortunately. Atlanta has too many incredible coconut soups, so I wouldn’t come back for this one. Watery and bland and FULL of cilantro. Workers aren’t getting tips so they sit behind the counter on their phones. Good idea for a place but it needs help for sure.
I had such a great experience. The Panang Beef Curry is delicious. I will return.
The food was good and the atmosphere was so nice!

The food was fresh and delicious. The staff was friendly. I will definitely go back.
Amazing place !!delicious food
Super survive
Gu Thai was amazing! The food, the presentation, the atmosphere, the staff…everything was a 10/10.
I will definitely be visiting again.
The pad Thai was pretty good! Personally will return for another meal.
Very chill place
Pricy spot considering there is no service and the food is below average.
Not sure why they say Thai… and sells Japanese food?
I ordered Tom yum shrimp ramen, that don’t even taste like Tom yum, is bland, and not sour. (2/10)
Cheese Rangoon was good!
Mango sticky rice was good!
Pad see u was not great (6/10)
Personally never coming back, but the place is beautiful.
Having to seperate my dirty dishes to clean up myself is a turn-off at best.
Convenient and great food. Nice atmosphere.
Pad thai was nice, sweet and flavorful.
very nice and clean place with sweet service.
This place is awesome!! The Thai tea is amazing and the service is impeccable. You never know what you’ll try next!
Very clean place. The food was better than the food I ate in Thai.
Food was great and came out quickly. Would recommend 10/10.
Very delicious!!!
Good Happy service will come back later for a full experience
Very nice
Adipolli🙌🙌
Awesome service and restaurant
The food was fast, hot, and very tasty. The roti was great.
Pretty solid. Luv their mango sticky rice!
Great food and service!
It’s yummy
Good
Absolutely wonderful place to eat.
Love it came twice
One thing that I will give this place is that the atmosphere is very cozy and relaxing. The lighting is not too harsh that it takes away from the ambiance of everything. The ordering system is very efficient and convenient for quick orders which is something that I can always appreciate. The food was also enjoyable although I cannot say much as I don’t want to only depend on 1 dish to rate the whole food experience. It’s definitely worth trying another time. Overall for a new restaurant they’re doing pretty good and as long as they continue to follow their current plan, they will grow on no time.
The food was very tasty and came out quick! It is very nice and cozy inside too. It felt perfect to enjoy a meal and relax
The food was good!
Amazing food! Friendly staff and speedy service! Very nice space!
Incredible
The food was good.
Had a great time with my family. Great vibe, service and food. Definitely going back soon. Great to have places like this in Duluth.

Best Thai place in the area and the food was amazing. Service yourself and you don't have to worry about tipping at all.
Food was good here! Will be back.
I stopped by Gu Thai recently and had a great experience. Ordering was super easy with the self-service kiosks—quick, straightforward, and no need to wait in line. Plus, since it’s self-service, there’s no tipping, which is a nice bonus.
I got the Pad Thai, and it was delicious! The noodles were cooked perfectly, with a great balance of sweet, savory, and tangy flavors. The portion was generous, and the fresh ingredients really made a difference. The crushed peanuts and lime added the perfect touch.
The restaurant was clean and had plenty of seating. Even though it’s a self-serve setup, the staff was friendly and kept things running smoothly.
If you’re looking for tasty, no-fuss Thai food with a simple ordering process, Gu Thai is definitely worth checking out!
really tasty food! great service, the waiter were really kind! atmosphere and interior design was very pretty and cozy!
I recently visited Gu Thai after seeing it recommended on my Instagram, and I’m so glad I gave it a try! The food and overall experience were amazing. The restaurant has a unique vibe—rustic but still modern, and the design feels fresh. It's in a new spot, and when you walk in, you immediately notice the kiosks to order food, which is a bit of a different experience. The self-service system is convenient, though it did feel like they hadn’t fully implemented all their options yet, as there weren’t a ton of choices for substitutions or customization while ordering.
We went on a Monday night, and since it’s a new place, the menu didn’t show many vegetarian or pescatarian options upfront. But when we asked the staff if we could swap the meat in some dishes for seafood or tofu, they were very accommodating. We ordered Panang Curry (beef to tofu), Massaman Curry (chicken to shrimp), and Spicy Basil Fried Rice (chicken to tofu). Once we finished ordering, we went up to the front to confirm our substitutions. One staff member mentioned there would be an extra charge for shrimp, but then another staff member explained that since we were switching to tofu, there wouldn’t be any extra fees, which was a nice surprise.
The food came out super quickly—within minutes—and everything was perfectly cooked. It came with pickled carrots and radish on the side, which added a nice crunch and tang to the meal. The flavors were incredible, and the portions were just the right size. The back room has a lot of seating, which makes it a great spot for groups. I can see this place becoming even more popular as they fine-tune the ordering system.
Overall, I’m really impressed with Gu Thai! If you’re looking for delicious Thai food in a laid-back, modern setting, this is definitely worth a visit. I’ll be back for sure!
I’ve driven past this restaurant everyday in anticipation of their opening. I decided to pick up dinner for me and my kiddo upon their grand opening.
I ordered the Basil Chicken Fried rice, egg rolls and coconut soup. I’m a huge Thai food lover but I will have to be honest and say that the food left a lot to be desired. The dishes were packed with meat and veggies but the flavor and seasoning was not included. Also the chicken was very dry. Spring rolls were also not the best and had a weird flavor profile.
I will give it 2 Stars as the service was quick and personable but for the price I could have gone to our regular Thai restaurant for much better quality food.
Some of the food was too salty
They need to learn how to mix shrimp and chicken together
Very high end looking . Staff very friendly . Food average and a bit pricey.
I've ate at many other Thai places in the Atlanta area, and what stood out about the food here was I immediately thought it was bland. I guess there being no spice level adjustment was a sign, but the food doesn't have much spice at all. I got the tom yum shrimp ramen and my sister got the pad Thai, and we thought both of these dishes were pretty bland. If you've ever had Mama Tom Yum ramen, a bag of that has more flavor and spice than a bowl of this Tom Yum. The service and the atmosphere was fine, but I'd go somewhere else if you wanted Thai food with actual flavor, at least judging from the 2 dishes that I tried.
Best Thai Food Restaurant in Atlanta!
Nice place, good food
It’s great
Taste very good
Love this place!
It looks so cool in here and I like that the logo looks like an upset face!
I love the aesthetic of this restaurant. It is self service so you do not tip. The food came out fairly quick and it was delicious. I got the Tom Yum ramen. It was a little sweet for my liking but I still liked it. The Thai tea comes in a cute glass which I will definitely be reusing.
Great concept, love the food and ambience. Such a chill vibe and great spot for family dinners or dates. Only downside is that there’s no menu modifications or substitutions which can be annoying, but that’s minor. Love the restaurant though.
the food was good and service was great! i loved the self serve
Foods delicious and the service is great
I love how nice they were to me
So pretty and the food was so yummy!
I loved the interior and how calm and easy it was to order w the kiosk!
Love the atmosphere and amazing food! This is definitely a spot to go to when you are in the area. The food is so fresh!!!
This is a s nice restaurant, quick to get your food. Come and check it out!
Beef curry noodle was delicious and on point!! Love the ambience too, will definitely be back!
It’s so easy to order, friendly staff, food is delicious.
First time Thai foods, it’s not bad. Just grand opening…
Good environment, great taste👍
Great ambiance
Great service, great people, and great food :)
The food was spectacular! Everything was extremely well seasoned and cooked and I loved the atmosphere and the self pay features! Definitely one of my new favorite spots.🤤
Good food with actual flavor.the kiosk ordering was smooth though no descriptions of the meals are listed. Food was ready quickly.
The food was great and they were helpful in picking some great dishes out. Particularly enjoyed the Egg Noodles with Pork and their own brand Thai Ice Tea.
The pad thai dish is very good!!!
01/15/2025 first visit. Chris Abellana
For appetizer, I ordered the Fried Chicken nuggets - to die for! For the mains, we ordered my favorite, Panang Curry(beef). It was creamy and the portion will fill you up. The Garlic Chicken w/ rice was delicious, and PadThai noodles (chicken) rivaled even my brother-in-law's, which is saying ALOT! I also had the Thai tea for my drink, and if you have never had this drink, it is a must try! The restaurant was clean; the parking lot was well lit, the ambience was nice with a hint of music in the background; and the area is VERY SAFE!
You GOTTA eat here! You won't regret it!
Delicious meal and very friendly staff! Will be coming back here soon :)
Great customer service. Easy to order menu and food came fast after ordering.
Great food, good customer service, and fast service
Food was amazing, we ordered pad se ew, papaya salad, and nam kow. The pad se ew and nam kow was very delicious but the papaya salad was missing something, but still enjoyable. The atmosphere very nice and and staff were very friendly.
Great! Curry was rich and creamy, highly recommend.
Amazing Thai tea!
Amazing pad thai
This place was awesome. Very clean and I loved the papaya salad dish with chicken!!!!
Wonderful new thai restaurant in the neighborhood! Fresh authentic food, great service, perfect!
We loved this new place. First impression was that it was very clean. Price was very fair and the food was super delicious. My picky son loved the pho and the pad Thai was so rich in flavor. Service was great as well, they were super helpful and kind. Will definitely be coming back.
We really enjoyed our dinner here! The Ramen soup was good
Very convenient!! The Thai tea was so good :))
Overall great experience. The wait time for food was relatively short. Food was very yum! The environment was nice and cozy! Would come again!
Phad thai was good! 👍🏻 the portion size is good as well! Love the fact that it’s self-served! It’s a cutesy place too ! Would come again!
Loved the experience! Food was good and the service too!
A1 customer service. DELICIOUS FOOD!
It was AMAZING! Food was fresh, clean place and friendly staff.
It was nice.
Classic Thai flavor. Nice addition to the neighborhood
Great spot for delicious lunch.
Had the panang, dumplings, and basil rolls. Everything was excellent. The Thai tea comes in super cute bottles too!
Everything good
Really nice and amazing atmosphere
Sadly not for vegetarians. The menu is uneditable and can’t replace with veggies. Would be better if they accommodated vegetarians!
Gu Thai is serving up authentic, home-style Thai dishes made with fresh ingredients and traditional recipes, quickly earning its place as the best new Thai restaurant in town. The self-service concept is both efficient and inviting, perfect for a quick yet satisfying meal.
From flavorful pad Thai to rich green curry, every dish is crafted to perfection, showcasing the vibrant flavors of Thailand. Located at 1290 Old Peachtree Rd NW, Duluth, GA 30097, this spot is a must-visit for great food and an unforgettable dining experience.
We had an enjoyable dinner here with 3 kids. Variety of food options including chicken nuggets, ramen, and fried rice made it easy to feed 3 kids with different tastes. Space was not crowded and service was fast. We will come back to try the other dishes next time.
Friendly service and great food! I asked for recommendations from the front desk and we were pleased with the seafood basil spaghetti noodles. We will definitely be back!
Pretty decent new spot in the Suwanee area! I didn’t have high expectations given some of the reviews but my family and I were actually pleasantly surprised at the rich flavor of the food. We got one of the daily specials - gu chicken pho and it was really good. Good broth and doesn’t need any extra sauce. The pad thai was our favorite - chewy, deep peanut flavor, and had all the necessary ingredients of a traditional pad thai. The only thing lacking was the papaya salad. Not spicy at all but a decent portion.
Excellent experience! From its hospitality to cleanliness, had a welcoming atmosphere. Staff Was friendly, knowledgeable and demonstrated professionalism. The food was phenomenal. It was a pleasure visiting this establishment. Definitely will be back. Thank goodness two thumbs up.
The restaurant is nice and clean. The food is very well made. I will be coming back.
The food came out quickly and everything was still hot and ready to eat! The service was impeccable, even if they are oriented around self service. The place was clean and my favorite was the mango sticky rice dessert!
Food came out quick. Had their pad thai, papaya salad, mango sticky rice, and longan grass jelly drink… EVERYTHING was absolutely DELICIOUS! The atmosphere is very welcoming and cozy. Definitely a hidden gem and my new favorite restaurant.
Ordered and got my food super fast! Atmosphere is very adorable and relaxing! 🥰
I initially gave them a 5 star review, but came back to update once I ate my meal:
The food was a bit underwhelming. I got a roti masaman (the small curry cup was delicious, but small), then the Tom Kha Gai (coconut chicken soup) was extremely watery and for some reason had onions and tomatoes in it (which I have never experienced in a tom kha gai soup before). I ordered a salad and was disappointed to find that there was no dressing included, so I had to eat dry lettuce leaves with a few small cucumber bites and carrot strips (it was takeout). The tomatoes in the salad were not finely chopped, just huge chunks and not desirable.
Overall, I feel like $23 was WAY too steep of a price for an appetizer roti, small soup, and salad that lacked flavor. I’m hoping it’s just that they haven’t worked out their kinks because they’re new, but either way, I don’t plan on going back there unless someone invites me or I have a coupon.
First time dining here, as someone from Thailand, I can confirm that food here is very authentic. Highly recommend the Spicy Basil Chicken Rice and their mango sticky rice. Definitely give them a try!
Beautiful place and great food!
An amazing restaurant! Such great food and service!
Good food
Concept is cool! Food is good! Would have liked more vegetarian options
Didn't know there could be a place worse than Panda Express but now I've found one
First time coming to this establishment with their new opening.
The atmosphere and concept are very good. Clean and simplistic make it nice. Service is great, they keep the tables and eating area clean.
Parking was alittle rough so be prepared.
Now to the food.
Presentation is great. Though the pricing is a little expensive with regards to what you get.
The GU PHo is quite tasty and filling. The Khao Soi Curry was a complete disappointment. The flavor was good but squid game definitely not enough ingredients to complement the curry that’s in the bowl. The Meat in the Khao Soi was like a piece of rubber with an aftertaste. I understand going with a cheaper cut of meat but I couldn’t even chew this one. Also for the price point of $24 I was expecting something better. Unfortunately I don’t recommend this dish.
My friend got the massaman curry, and was not to thrilled with it either .
But this is just our opinion. There’s a lot of other items on the menu too. But be prepared they are pricey.
Great place to come for a friendly and wonderful Thai food!!!!!
Food was awesome. Quick service. Pretty nice atmosphere.
I found this lovely new restaurant via Instagram. Let me tell you in full honest and earnest about this new spot. It's absolutely great! The food is definitely A1. The service is you, so you rate yourself at a 10. And the folks who runs it are very friendly. I came with a party of 4 after work, and we took our time in enjoying the atmosphere with the other guests inside.
I had the Khao Soi beef curry along with their Roti ice cream dessert. Very delicious with every bite. So when you get a chance go ahead and stop on by with a friend, coworker or both.
Nice place! I ordered tom yum ramen with shrimp, and it was good.
The place is very nice the food is good but my soup don’t have much chicken
Highly recommended! Nice and clean restaurant. Service is so good. Food tastes delicious and come out good. Plenty of seats.
Restaurant is so clean and nice. Food come out fast and taste good. Highly recommend!
The food was amazing!!!
I enjoyed myself, the food was great and I appreciated the atmosphere and calm vibe. It was my first time eating here.
Amazing thai food worth for its price and service was fast. My girlfriend finished her food but she never finishes her food anywhere so that should say something.
really good food and atmosphere! it’s all self service but the employees are always willing to help. give it a try if you haven’t!
