Stumbled across Thai Sweet Basil tonight and what a great little gem. We were greeted by this lovely lady who waited on us and helped us order. The restaurant is well set up, very clean and the food was fantastic. I had the Yellow Curry with Combination proteins. The curry sauce was fantastic and the veges and meat were perfect. My spouse had the Cashew Stir-Fry with shredded chicken - again the sauce was delicious. And the side of rice is served in the shape of a heart! We also had the fried pot stickers which were very good - I forgot to take a pic. We've definitely found another go to restaurant in the Northdale area. I highly recommend you give this restaurant a try!

I could only barely eat the top layer because it was so saturated with sickeningly sweet sauce. Tell your chefs to take it easy back there!! I imagined buddy the elf pouring his maple syrup on the noodles. 💀 Too much!

Fresh and delicious with a wide assortment with food that surpasses your expectations. The hostesses are lovely in their cultural dress and know the menu very well. They have redecorated and make you feel you might be in Thailand. Our thank you to the chefs who have us coming back over and over. If you haven't been here in a while I urge you to give them another look. They won't disappoint.

Awful. Worst orange chicken I’ve ever had. So over fried the breading was difficult to get down.

Update: I decided to give this place another try. I was really in the mood for Thai and I wanted to support local businesses during this pandemic. The food did taste good that was not my issue. I had ordered the Tom Yum with Shrimp. When ordering it only has one size for $8/$9. I ordered it, I figured at that price it would be at least the quart size container. NOPE! It was the pint sized container with 4 pieces of shrimp!! I couldn't believe it! How are you going to charge that much money for 4 shrimp, onions, and a few mushrooms?! Like I said, the food is good, but RIDICULOUSLY OVERPRICED!!! That is total robbery what they are charging!

I have ordered from here quite a few times now, and although the food does taste good, the protein portion in whatever dish you get is so not worth the price. Example: I had ordered a shrimp and noodle dish at dinner and only had 5 shrimp in it for approximately $13 plus $2 for shrimp option. And while it did taste good, it was hardly worth the price to only have 5 pieces of shrimp. I cannot speak for service as I have only ordered through Uber Eats and had it delivered. If we give it another try and the amount of protein increases for the price paid, I will update my review.

They must have new owners the pad Thai use to be so good. It was soupy with a reddish brown sauce. Mine came out burnt tasting. My friends and I did not care for it at all.

Just ordered through UBer and when called them they ask that I cancel as they couldn't cancel. When I canceled the order uber will not refund. It is a scam they play with customers. BEWARE!!!

i ordered take out and i wanted stir fried and i got something that was swimming in fluid, and no stir fired rice just plain rice steamed, it was okay but i wasn't able to finish it since.. i dont like swampy food.. they didn't give me something to eat with so I could not eat at the park as i had intended and had to go home to eat.. no utensils.. i ordered online so no pics to go with so you cant see what that is.. i got egg rolls that were fried however the grease they use was nasty and it is still sitting in my stomach my digestive system is going to regret this. im use to eating healthy and clean.. it looked good and was recommended long time ago so I thought i would try.. wont be going back

I ordered from Thai Sweet Basil for our office - this was a particularly large order for pick-up. They did such an amazing job, they clearly labeled everything so it was easy to identify whose food was whose, their packaging for pick-up was sturdy (they even helped me carry everything out to the car) and everything was delicious.

Update: we gave it another try...this time it was flavorful again! Pumpkin curry was delicious. Pad thai tasted on point! Great job🥳TSB rolls are really tasty. Pumpkin curry is good. Red curry and panang seem a bit duller than usual. Pad thai is good when there is foil on the to-go container-not constant. Tofu is very good. Spice levels are great. 4th time, much better this year!!!

They live by their name and use a lot of basil. It can be strong so I always get light basil, but try it out regular first... you may like it. You can always pick it out. I'm just usually starving and don't feel like picking it out.

Ordered chicken pad thai and meal was inundated with pad thai sauce. Also sauce tasted like it had a tomato base because it was very sweet. Ordered it medium and it had no spice at all. Was offered a replacement meal and ordered chicken fried rice. Wasn’t much better. Too bad, I have always enjoyed the food here.

The food was terrific! I've been there 3x's. Each time, the food was great. Two times I had take out. It was like eating in the restaurant, even though I had a 15 min drive home to unpack and eat.

I place a to go order with this Restaurant, didn’t know what to expect I’m going off of reviews. It’s was close to closing time & as soon as I walked in I smelled nothing but bleach. It wasn’t an over powering bleach smell but I could tell it’s being used!!! Which for me is a VERY good sign!!! It means somebody is cleaning correctly. My Thai House Rice with Shrimp & Chicken no Tomatoes & no Carrots extra onions was Amazing!!! Best rice I’ve had in a long time!!! I have no complaints!!!

This place is amazing and I'm totally hooked. I eat here at least once a week but would come more frequently if I could. My fave dish is the TSB noodles. I can't seem to replicate it anywhere else! Only not giving 5 stars because they forgotten small details on my To-Go orders like not adding spice when asked.

Food good but they did not add or remember rice which was a big part of the meal when eating Thai curry . Called and spoke with Pat. She said she'd give us a credit next time. Called back and her credit was $2. What! come on. Cheap cheap. Thai Ruby has good thai for but could improve their customer service!

Thai Sweet Basil is amazing! Their Thai dishes are bursting with authentic flavors. Whether it's Duck Curry or red curry, each bite is a delight. The service is excellent, making your dining experience enjoyable. If you love Thai flavors, Thai Sweet Basil is the point.

No longer the case. Not sure what happened but the food quality and quantity went downhill suddenly. Barely got enough rice to make one dish.
Don't even offer spring rolls anymore. Egg rolls? Taste like frozen....

Stopped here by accident. We were planning to go to the Peruvian place next door but it was empty so tried Thai instead. Glad we did. The pad Thai and curry dishes were excellent but the “medium” hot. Luke use more heat.

I ordered Thai Basil and Crab Rangoon togo.

Crab Rangoon- description stated cream cheese, imitation crab meat and curry. There was not any crabmeat in any of the 6 pieces that I broke open. Only curried cream cheese.

Thai Basil with chicken- The sauce is unusually sweeter than I've eaten from most Thai restaurants. Also there was no Basil in either of our dishes as stated in the description.

I will not be returning as what is stated on the menu is not what comes in the dish.

Their restaurant looks like it's kind of going through a transition in styling. Otherwise wonderful.

We have been ordering from this place since they opened (always use Uber Eats). The food was amazing…now not so much. I have had several sub par meals from here over the last few months..each one getting slightly worse. Never want to write a negative review but tonites order was by far the worst. I ordered my usual. The yellow curry with chicken and Requested to add bell peppers. I got white rice and onions in yellow curry with one little bite size piece of chicken. Terrible. I no longer recommend this place to anyone. I love curry. I’m upset their quality is not the same anymore.

I ordered 2 items both tempura. One came in tempura batter the other deep fried in pancake batter. I called and they said sorry we’re very busy. Not worth the money. And tempura is a light flaky crust and shouldn’t taste like fair food. I ended up tossing the one dish.

Delicious food. Have ordered from here many times and tried several curries, and also the Thai sweet basil dish is excellent with chicken. Soups are great too, if you’re unsure or new, you can start with the chicken and rice soup, very tasty!

My husband and I come here from time to time to get lunch or dinner. The food is always excellent. Never a dull dish. The coconut chicken soup is my personal favourite.

There aren’t a lot of sit-down customers, but every time we are inside there are people constantly coming in and out for take-out. It is no surprise why.
I would definitely give a sit-down visit a try. The ladies are very nice, the service is prompt and food always comes out fresh and hot.

I ordered using Uber eats.
I had the pad thai chicken - medium heat. I wouldnt select medium heat again...it was too peppery. I love hot food but this was a bit much for this dish. The heat took away from the flavor of the food.

I also added vegetables. I wouldn't do that again. It was a distraction and it was mostly peppers and carrots.

The little crunchy egg rolls (or were they spring rolls?)
were good. I asked for extra sauce but it was not necessary.

All in all, i was satisfied with the food and the delivery.

Great place for Thai food. I eat from here every time I visit Tampa, once per month. Intense flavors that can be ordered from light to heavy heat. Fresh vegetables. Shrimp is always cooked very well, never overcooked.

First time try to be adventurous. Man was the food great! So much flavor and so tender. Tried some soup, dumplings, tuna bowls, fresh rolls, and the Thai sweet basil bowl with beef. All very delicious and reasonably priced. We will definitely try out more dishes in the future. :-)

This is one of our go to restaurants for authentic Thai. During Covid they remodeled the restaurant and bathrooms which it needed. It is beautiful now. The food continues to be always consistent and delicious. This night was no different. Love the Tom Yum or Tom Kha Gai soups and most all dishes. My absolute favorite is the Orange Plum Duck. I've ordered this about 15 times throughout the years and it comes always the same way. Crispy and delicious. A piece of art when it arrives the table legs stacked and breasts sliced. The curry dishes are great. The Pad Thai is off the planet. Anyhow.... thank you again Thai Sweet Basil we'll be back! --- Dave

LOVE the food.

I frequent this establishment as I do others. I repeat not only because the food is comforting but also to determine consistency. The consistency is the most important thing to me since it is the 'red line' between getting my business versus not having it anymore. Nevertheless, Thai Sweet Basil has been consistent for years. The staff is friendly, food taste very fresh (especially the veggies, which I believe they grow themselves) and the portions are more filling than they seem.

This location has been newly remodeled inside and I'd recommend anyone to take a load off to enjoy the atmosphere and the food :-). Since I'm writing this review I just found myself craving it again - yikes.

When in doubt on what to eat [besides pizza] I recommend giving Thai Sweet Basil a chance.

Look at the picture I included. I called the restaurant and they wanted me to bring in the food after I ordered thru Door Dash. This is unacceptable I took a picture and sent it to the number they gave me. Still no refund Im furious. I COULD HAVE GOTTEN SICK WITH THAT RANCID CHICKEN. LOOK AT THE PICTURES. ITS CHICKEN PANANG CURRY. The Chicken was foul smelling and grey. I Still havent been reimbursed. Also I could care less you "tried to provide great service" DONT TRY TO JUST DO IT. THERE ISNT ANYTHING QUALITY ABOUT SPOILED CHICKEN. ILL NEVER COME TO THIS RESTAURANT AGAIN. YOUR LUCKY I DIDNT EAT THE FOOD AND GET SICK OR A LAWSUIT WOULD BE COMING.

Thai owner, she is so wonderful! Authentic Thai dishes made from her heart! They recently added sushi to their menu! We tried the Screaming Orgasm which is a baked roll, and it was amaaazing!!!!! Highly recommend! :)

My favorite is the Massamun curry sauce, so delish. Have brought various friends who "don't like curry or Thai food" here and they LIKE this place.

I LOVE all the food that I have had from here! You get a choice of hot spicy, medium spicy or no spicy (that's what the menu says). No way was I able to get any photos of what I ordered...all was so good camera never had a chance to capture any dish pic. Am very, very satisfied!!

They must have changed chefs recently because the quality and the amount of foods have been degrading these days. Take a look at this vegetarian pad thai and tofu tom yum. Not only the portion is extremely small for the amount of money they charge ($12 - $15 per entree average), but the real problem is that they keep putting small amount of mixed vegetable unrelated to some Thai dishes like zucchini, string beans, carrots, white onion, green onion, & bell peppers, etc, which compromise the whole authentic taste of the tom yum sauce or the pad thai sauce, and therefore taste disgusting. This is really insulting to Thai cuisine because none of the other Thai places that I've been to put string bean, zucchini, & bell pepper in pad Thai btw. I'm sorry but we've been frequent customers for the last 4-5 years and so it's sad to see that we have to cross this one off our list for the future.

All three of us got sick after ordering takeout. Diarrhea, nausea, gas, headaches all around. We all got different meals - green curry, red curry and pad thai, both chicken and beef. My pad thai was extremely large in portion but very inauthentic in taste - where were the veggies?! (I spent three weeks in Thailand last year and never once got sick). AVOID.

Consistently great food! One of our favorite Thai spots in Tampa!

Extremely bad experience. We placed an online order and placed a request for veggie curry because we do not eat meat. The restaurant people wouldn’t change our order. Zero customer service. On top it the people were extremely rude and screaming when we requested that our order cannot have chicken it is against our religion. I have never seen such behavior. I am almost to enter that place again.
I would never recommend this place to anyone. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE service!!!!!!!

Great curries

Unbelievable!! We placed an order for pick up and when we arrived home, the order was incorrect. We called to inquire about the confusion, in which we were told that there was a misunderstanding and if we wanted the correct order, we would not only have to go back to pick it up, but needed to bring in the wrong order we got initially. Not only did we have to bring the wrong meal in, we were charged for what we originally ordered and the food we brought back was clearly thrown in the garbage. Terrible customer service...please work on keeping customers happy!

The best Thai food in our area

I ordered using Ubereats, first time ever purchasing from them though I've interacted with the staff on many occasions. I really enjoyed my TSB Salmon, it came with white rice. Their curry duck is also amazing.

Food severely under seasoned. Vegetables were frozen. Portions were small and prices not great .
Took over an hour for order to be ready .

Excellent food. We were there before the "shut down" with very few other diners in restaurant. Almost left, but I am glad we stayed. They do a very heavy carry out business. Will go back again.

By far, this is my favorite Thai restaurant. Thank you for the great service, and tasty spicy food. You’re worth the drive from Land O Lakes to Northdale :)
