Owner and Chef making her grandma’s recipe for over 30 years locally in Tallahassee. We welcome you to enjoy the taste of Thailand!
This was a wonderful night out to celebrate graduation. The service was so pleasant and efficient. She was very knowledgeable about the menu options and even gluten free choices. The food was fresh and delicious with beautiful presentation. The chef came out and checked on us and was just precious! The homemade ice cream and custard was also amazing. The only note of caution I would add is to ask for the menu or prices before you order a special. I was a little surprised by the prices of the specials when the bill came. But no regrets, great experience and highly recommended!
What an INCREDIBLE experience.
A quaint and lovely restaurant, it made for a wonderful atmosphere for a date!
Our waitress was so sweet and thoughtful, and other staff was very friendly.
The food was excellent, and I don’t think I’ve ever had a curry as exciting as their mango curry.
Very authentic and delicious.
I wish I lived closer so I could come here all the time!
Highly recommend!!

The staff is very friendly and accommodating. It was a busy day for them and there was quite a long wait time (However, they apologized mentioning that they were understaffed the time I visited. So, I don't think it's something to worry about).
I am not completely satisfied with the taste and the portion size. Some of my friends loved it. I am assuming that's the traditional taste of Thai food.
I recommend visiting the place.
A bit pricey for everyday dining, but worth every penny! Food is amazing. Portion sizes are generous - had leftovers to share. Staff is attentive - friendly and professional, Chef is so creative with use of seasonal ingredients adding a twist to traditional dishes. Oh, and the coconut milk ice cream is a treat not to be missed! Save room for dessert!!
Service was outstanding. The owner and chef Donna is so kind and greeted us and checked on us several times. Waiters were very attentive and respectful. Food had awesome flavor and fresh as can be ! Husband had the curry and I had chicken pad see ew. Our Entrees were 18.99. Came out steaming hot ! Good portions, had leftovers to take home. Don’t skip the dairy free ice homemade Thai ice cream. We got pineapple lemon and it was so refreshing after the spice. She has a whole list of flavors. Place is very authentic and we are very picky about our Thai food. Peaceful music playing. Please support a small business, just celebrated 30 years in Tallahassee.
Small strip-mall family restaurant, which was a last minute fall-back, because our usual place was closed. We didn't regret it. The food was excellent and plentiful, the service very friendly including the owner/ chef coming by and checking on us, and all the tables around us laughing and talking. We really loved the experience and will be back. Thank you!
PS: Leave space for some ice cream for dessert. It's light and packed with flavor and they have amazing Asian aromas like green tea and red bean!
We found this restaurant through a recommendation at the Four Points Sheraton by the FSU campus. The restaurant is tucked away in a strip mall and there’s been a lot of care and love put into the restaurant by the owner, giving it a pleasing, homey atmosphere. The most impressive part was the service and FOOD. It was delicious! The server brought us out a complementary seasonal salad made of shredded pumpkin, cilantro, lime and garlic. Light, refreshing and scrumptious! My student companions ate chicken pad Thai which they loved and I had the beef salad. The beef was tender and the lettuce and veggies were all very fresh, coated with a spicy and delicious dressing. We topped it all off with sticky rice and mango. We REALLY enjoyed our meal and were disappointed to see that more people were not patronizing the restaurant on the Thursday night we were there as the quality was very good and the servers and chef/owner were very kind and friendly. I highly recommend this restaurant when you’re visiting Tallahassee!
Great evening! Shared an appetizer and a dinner after a movie. Good and service superb!
If you want some spice, come here for real. Friendly owner, great food, great ingredients. Everything is made to-order and is fresh.
What an INCREDIBLE experience.

I have eaten at good Thai restaurants all across the UNITED STATES, this one is the best. Tallahassee is lucky have Donna cooking for us.
Hands down, no doubt, THE BEST THAI FOOD YOU WILL EVER EAT!!!! Chef Donna is a one lady operation and her attention to detail is unmatched! We sampled several items and brought carry out back, everything was AMAZING!!!! We can’t wait to return❤️❤️❤️❤️
RIP OFF!! That's all you need to know about this place. Food is 5/10 but if you factor in value for your money it's 1/10. We paid $65 on a Saturday night for 2 entrees and a singha beer. My son took 2 bites of the $26 drunken noodles and said he is not eating it. None of us liked it. Wild mushroom dish was good but $21 good. The beer was $9!! I've eaten way better Thai food for 1/3 of the cost. To make things worse, they charge $3 for an extra scoop of rice. Never eaten at an Asian restaurant that charges for white rice. This place must survive on travellers like us who happen to pass by (saw them listed on the elevator at Holiday Inn down the road). There is no way a local with taste buds will be a repeat customer here. Only one other table was occupied when we walked in and nobody else came in for the next 45 mins. Oh FYI, there is a 4% service charge for credit cards.
The food here was delicious and fresh, and came out at a good speed! The service was amazing, our server was attentive and made sure we had everything we needed the entire time we dined. I would recommend this resturant to anyone who enjoys thai food.
This was the worst Thai food I’ve ever had. I ordered Pad See Ew with tofu, crab cheese wontons, and fresh spring rolls. I couldn’t eat any of it. The Pad See Ew tasted like cup o noodles but with less flavor. The crab cheese wontons were chewy and lacked flavor. The fresh spring rolls weren’t actually rolled and fell apart as I tried to eat them. The tofu was well-cooked so I did eat that. There are vegetarian options available.
I got delivery, so I can’t speak for the atmosphere or service.
This place is amazing. Donna the chef has a unique style and without a doubt is a go to for my fam. Special are great and the service could not be better. It's a hidden gem that I hope stays that way.
By far the best Thai restaurant in Tallahasee. Amazing food. I have been eating here regularly for years
Hole in the wall I spotted pulling into Bumpa's. Figured I'd give it a shot with my girlfriend. Atmosphere was unique, it was really really cozy but our server forgot that they were out of certain parts of the meal I ordered and we were compensated at all. If I wanted to replace i would have been charged for it. When we got the ticket, I asked for some off the total and all they gave was 3 dollars off what would have been a 11 dollar part of the meal.
I am a food connoisseur. I have been to many Thai food restaurants and this is the most satisfying experience I have had. The taste and presentation of the food is superb. The Chef and Su Chef deserves a standing ovation. I drive an hour and a half to eat the Chef’s cuisine. As a food critic you cannot miss this experience.
Truly, one of my top favorite restaurants in Tallahassee food is always delicious and service is great highly recommend.
Given the quality of the food and the service, the prices felt unjustifiably high. We left feeling that we had not received good value for our money.
REAGNTHAI failed to deliver on both taste and service. While the ambiance had potential, the overall experience was subpar. I hope the restaurant addresses these issues to improve the dining experience for future patrons. Until then, I would not recommend REAGNTHAI to anyone seeking an authentic and enjoyable Thai meal.
I travel for work, Thai restaurants in south Florida are much more hospitable than this restaurant. If you’re black I do not suggest dining in at this restaurant.
They only care about there regulars. The female waiter who attended my table was awful and un attentive.
I absolutely love this Thai restaurant! Donna is so sweet and the best cook. The coconut ice cream is a must try! They also have great Lunch combos
We ordered a few different things which were all very good, but the pork ribs was delicious and melts in your mouth, and the crispy duck was also extra delicious. Service was good, very friendly and efficient. The owner/chef came out and talked to us at the end of the night, a lovely lady from many generations of cooks.
With everyone always asking for the best of a particular cuisine my vote for best Thai has to be Reangthai Thai Restaurant! We had an incredible birthday dinner and absolutely everything was delicious, from the short rib and shrimp special to the Pad Thai Duck it was all flawlessly prepared and presented. With 4 generations of experience in the kitchen Donna, and her superb staff, make this truly one of Tallahassee's hidden gems of a restaurant.
Fantastic! You should go. This place is everything you want in a Thai restaurant -- extremely good food, outstanding service, quiet and simple. Ordered three different curry dishes, all were 5*. Slightly pricey but worth it, I would go back tomorrow!

Is this the best restaurant in Tallahassee? Absolutely. The food tastes phenomenal. Great for lunch, and also great for a date night.
Amazing food, you should try the Snapper special. Best in Tallahassee!
Traveling Panama City to Orlando, googling restaurants along the route home. Almost didn't stop here bc we thought it was a tad pricey for traveling food. Plus no crowd on a Monday made us a little leery
SO GLAD WE VISITED!. I've only had duck a dozen or so times before, but the pumpkin curry special with duck is the best blend of flavors and textures (w duck) I've ever had.
My wife enjoyed her mango curry w chicken almost as much as she loved my dish.
She wants to try everything they have now, so we will be sure to stop next time we are cruising through Tally.
Chef Donna is not only talented, but warm and friendly as well.
The pork rib pad Thai is so good. I always tell myself that I will try something new but find myself craving it the second I walk in. The portion sizes are massive and I always leave with leftovers. The owner/chef is so sweet. She always comes to check on every table once the food comes out.
Well, well, well… can’t say enough about this place. The servers, Dylan and Madison, were just lovely. The atmosphere was nice, my dishes were so clean!!
Service was outstanding. The owner and chef Donna is so kind and greeted us and checked on us several times. Waiters were very attentive and respectful. Food had awesome flavor and fresh as can be ! I recommend visiting the place.
Amazing server.
Really fresh hot food and the atmosphere is quiet, small and private.
DELICIOUS - favorite Thai in Tallahassee
Definitely the best Thai restaurant in Tallahassee, always a delight!
This was wonderful Thai food. Really enjoyed Tom Khi w/Chicken soup. Some of the best I have ever had.
I got take out pad Thai. It was 100% noodles and rice with some shredded cabbage on top. (Aside from the beef I paid extra for)
It was dry and not tasty. No crushed peanuts, no scrambled eggs, no tofu, no other veggies at all. I was shocked. And it cost $31! And I picked it up.!!!!
My favorite Thai place in the panhandle! Had the Tom kha for the first time this previous time and it is the best I have ever had. Got the special pork rib and shrimp pad Thai for my entree. Shrimp was cooked perfectly and flavors are just soooo good. Always visit every time in Tallahassee!
Love the authentic Thai food!!! And the personal greetings! Thanks!!
Have been in Tallahassee and only recently heard of Reangthai Restaurant. Upset that it's taken so long to find such a unique place. 5 starts for service, and 5+ stars for quality of the food. Service was fast, attentive, and all the waiters were helping each other and checking on all tables. All were knowledgable and quick to make recommendations.
Portions for our meal (and others that we saw come out for other tables) was extremely generous - we shared an app, a soup, and their special padthai for the day which had their short ribs and shrimp mixed in. We couldn't finish the entree. Flavors were unique, distinct, and delicious. And based on other reviews, it seems like the chef truly cares about the experience - she came out to introduce herself and say hi, which seems like is normal for this restaurant.
Cannot wait to go again. Cannot fathom why this place is not more known.
Absolutely delicious. Two days later and I am still thinking about how yummy our dinner was. The flavors were amazing. The ingredients used were fresh. You need to go. And the homemade coconut milk ice cream was divine.
Plenty of other reviewers have said how wonderful this restaurant is, and I completely agree. Yet some people have had much worse experiences, and I want to discuss that.
The owner is an amazing chef--I will remember her cooking and talk about it for years to come. However, she is only one person, and has tried hiring others to help handle the workload. Unfortunately, none of those other cooks were able to maintain her standards, and I believe that is the cause of the few bad reviews.
From what our server said, it sounded like she has given up on trying to hire other cooks. However, I would recommend checking who the chef is first, to make sure you get the best meal possible.
I honestly do not normally do this but I felt I absolutely had to. We ordered Sweet Udon with Chicken and Cilantro Stir Fry with Chicken. They used cheap rice, the flavors were below average, and THE PORTIONS WERE HORRIBLE considering we paid $40 for the meal! The food did not even fill up the small round bowls used for take out. Astonishing!! Never again!!
Very disappointed. I ordered the Thai Tea and the cup had a lot of ice. I ask in a very friendly way the waitress to please remove the ice and before I know, another lady came and explain that if they remove the ice, the tea will be to sweet. She then send me a plain black tea without sugar that I refused.
That was reason enough to put a red flag on the service for me. At the end, my son and I requested a doggie bag and right away they offered my son to bagged for him, and to me, they just bring me a very small container and put in on top of the table, without offering me any help putting it away as they did with my son. When ready to leave, they open the door for my son and to me, just gave me a nasty look. I will never return to the place. They are rude, the food is not so good and the prices are very high for the rude service they offer.
I recommend the Ban Thai on Apalachee Parkway. The food is delicious, more authentic, they are very friendly and prices are reasonable.

This is the best Thai food in Tallahassee bar none.
Great place I came one and come every weekend greatest place amazing food and drinks
This was the best restaurant experience I've ever had. The food was phenomenal. This little gem must be one of the, if not the best restaurant in Tallahassee. The appetizers, entrees, and dessert were to die for. I really enjoyed the golden tea as well.
The waitress explained the heat scale poorly to me so I ordered something that was much too spicy. The chef came out and saw me crying, sweating, and still eating 😂 She insisted she remake the food and didn't even charge us for it.
6/5. You simply must come here.
Fantastic local place to get an exceptional meal.
Can't say enough about how wonderful Donna and our server were. Food was excellent, the beer was cold, and the atmosphere was warm and inviting. Was a great choice for our spontaneous date night!
Unimpressed unfortunately. Crab Rangoon was very odd. Pad Thai was tasty but only filled up half the carton and not worth the cost. Mee Krob was just not good.
This restaurant is hands down one of the best places if ever eaten. Mrs. Donna’s craftsmanship in the kitchen is second to none. The taste, textures, techniques and attention to detail are mind blowing! We had the pork rib & shrimp padthai and the mango teriyaki chicken along with some of the homemade mango and thai coffee ice cream. THIS IS THE SPOT!!!
Super sweet place with nice ambience and friendly people. The food was exceptional. We ordered the dumplings appetizer and shared drunken noodles. The spice level was carefully explained to us and we opted for a 4/5 heat. It was truly spicy without being overwhelming for our palates. We will definitely be back!
The food was absolutely amazing. The siam duck had great flavor and was a great portion size. We also got the whole fried red snapper (fresh from st marks) and were very pleased. Will be come back again.
Was here with the family for the first time and we all loved the food. I ordered the special, mango curry. Probably one of my top 3 favorite dishes I've had this year! Even the kids, who can be picky enjoyed their food. The ladies that waited on us were absolutely amazing. The place was very warm and comfortable. Will definitely go back. Please go in and try this place. Prices are good for the amount of food you get. Please go and check this amazing place out and see for yourself.
The food was alright but quite costly. The gratuity was already added when the bill was provided. It's commendable that they opened so quickly after hurricane Idalia.
The smell of garlic on the Reangthai Chicken Fried Rice was too intense for me. Didn't like for that. Also, all items seemed over-priced than other Thai restaurants at Tallahassee.
Reangthai is hands down the best Thai restaurant in Tallahassee. I come here with my family at least once a week and it never disappoints. The decoration is amazing and the food is even better. The snapper is a must and pork ribs and shrimp Pad Thai is a must!
Delicious hidden gem! Food is authentic and well prepared. Service is friendly and welcoming. If you're looking for great food in a peaceful place, I highly recommend them.
By far the best Thai restaurant in Tally, just my opinion.
But it's clean food, bursting with flavor, spice level just right, and fresh ingredients.
A foodies dream come true!
One of the best Thai places I've tried in Florida! Food is phenominal and the service is fantastic. Not that it's a problem, but be aware that they do not have fountain drinks.
Donna is awesome!
Everything was great! Highly recommend. We had crispy duck and the drunken noddles.
Early dinner with friends. Many options on the menu. Husband who is a southern meat and potatoes man even found something he enjoyed. The berry cheesecake ice cream was the best to finish off a delicious meal. The chef even took the time to come out of the kitchen and talk to us. And our sever Kim was delightful. Great job Reangthai. We will be back.
This time we tried the shrimp coconut curry and it had the best sauce and shrimp was perfectly cooked. Hubbie got the whole fish 🐟 which was delicious for him and had nice veggies. The specials came with a free drink and scoop of yummy mango ice cream. We admire Donna the chef.
Eat here at least once a week. Never disappointed!
The green curry tasted like pickle juice. I will never order from here again.
A tucked away gem of a restaurant. They serve delicious and authentic Thai food. Ingredients and flavors so savory and fresh. The staff is attentive and helpful. Foodies won’t be disappointed.
The atmosphere is beautiful, relaxing, fun, romantic. The food and service were incredible from start to finish. The owner is a sweetheart who puts her love into every dish. Everyone in our party loved their meal. The appetizers and desserts were also delicious. It's hard to find a business with integrity these days. There was love and authenticity in every bite. Thank you for such a wonderful experience.
I'm not sure how anyone can give this place anything less than 5 stars! From a family who does a lot of home cooked meals and recipes, and also enjoy electing out and tasting different foods from all kinds of restaurants. Environment was nice and clean, quiet and staff was excellent with a smile (not fake either). Portions were definitely filling which also matched the price. Perfect place to go on a date and easily a family sit down kind of vibe. Great flavor, nice menu options. Hands down 1 of few places in town where I know the chef has some love behind every plate. I encourage everyone to check them out at least once amd see for yourself. I highly doubt you'll regret it.
Great place, staff and food!
Able to customize meal to my preference.
10 out of 5 stars! Everything tasted amazing! Our server was on top of it! He answered all of our questions (even my 10 year old twins). We have been before and my daughter likes going to “the quite place with good food”.
Wonderful Thai food!
I liked that they had specials. We ordered a shimp and rib pad thai. It was the best pad thai I've had. Just disappointed in the service and cleanliness of the utensils.
Always good
Amazing restaurant! Feels and tastes like home cooked meals. Highly recommend.
Food was so great.
Steamed seafood was delicious
Chicken curry was right on not too strong of a curry
Pad thai was also spot on
Loved the thai tea bubble tea
Food was bland and seemed thrown together. We had a large take-out order and while food texture can deteriorate on the drive home, the flavor should survive in tact. In this case, I don’t think there was much flavor to begin with. We tried a variety of noodle, curry, and rice dishes. None were notable. The sauce that came with the spring rolls was in containers not suitable for transport; the sauce covered the inside of the bag. One time for our family.
Authentic Thai delicious food. Excellent service and atmosphere.
Excellent food and well worth the price. It may not look like much from the outside but man do they have it going on. Every dish I have tasted from this place has been amazing. Right down to the authentic desserts. Thank you so much for being in Tallahasse. We can't wait to make the hour and a half drive to come dime with you again! <3
Chef is very kind, but nearly $50 (including a 4% credit card use charge) for only two shrimp pad Thai ($21 each) was more that what I expected to pay for this small bag of food, but my wife wanted Thai food to go. I would overlook the cost if the food was outstanding. Unfortunately, we were disappointed with the food as the Pad Thai was overwhelmed with peanuts and taste like a big spoon full of peanut butter was in it. Also, it was more on the soupy side. I guess that is why they add a side of rice to the meal. If we ate there, I would have definitely returned the meal. The place came highly recommended but I doubt I will return.
"Reangthai Thai Restaurant is a true gem of Tallahassee dining! Authentic Thai cuisine is amazing, and the flavors are bold and delicious. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, and the staff is always friendly and attentive. Whether you're in the mood for a traditional Thai dish or something a little more adventurous, this restaurant has something for everyone, including many flavors of homemade ice cream. Next week I will try their Money Wings. I highly recommend giving Reangthai a try; you won't be disappointed!"
My mom dined here and she enjoyed their food. Her only con was small portions for a hefty price.
this place is amazing! the service, chef, and whole dining experience is sooooooo worth it. the food is just so yummy, can’t go wrong with some chicken pad Thai.
Awesome food and experience! I highly recommend! Will definitely be back many more times
Visited Reangthai for the first time last night. We ordered takeout, got the drunken noodles. The chef was gracious and allowed us to leave the pork out of the dish. We have been eating drunken noodles for years and didn't know it could taste this delicious. The flavor was amazing. I also noticed the specials as I was waiting for my order and am very excited to try the mango curry. We will be visiting Reangthai again soon and will dine in.
Small Thai restaurant with excellent food. This is my wife and my favorite date spot. When you get something spicy it IS spicy, which is hard to find these days. We like to try different things on the menu and haven't had a single dish we didn't like, but if we could only have one thing it would be the honey chicken.
I travel all over the U.S. and this is the best Thai food around, Highly Recommend!!! When in Tally, you must check it out.
I am a regular when it comes to Reangthai and I know chef Donna very well, I have never left a review because I don’t see the need to do so but recently I have been seeing some untrue or bad accusations upon Reangthai which makes me so sad to see donnas restaurant get. Me and Donna chat often because I see that she loves her customers very much and makes sure she takes care of all of their needs, she has told me that her grandmother has helped her with homemade Thai recipes and has been cooking all her life, that’s probably the reason this is my favorite food ever haha!! I’m serious guys when I say that the food Donna makes is INSANELY flavorful and delicious I mean it, people usually think that when it comes to Thai food that it’s just spicy but that’s not true! She has so many dish options that can be no heat at all or if you like heat she can make you start to sweat haha and oh my gosh don’t even get me started on her homemade ice cream, it’s dairy free, vegan, sugar free, AND LOW CALORIE like I just don’t even know how this woman can make something taste so good. Guys please don’t listen to any of the negative reviews and take my word that this is truly the BEST Thai food or food in general to ever have because it hurts me to see Donna struggle with all the negativity. I hope that you guys take my word and come support my absolute favorite soul food restaurant.
Wasn't particularly impressed. I dine out quite often and was underwhelmed.
My kid's order was cooked incorrectly. (Fried insted of steamed, and they said it was the last dumplings they had so couldn't re-cook. Dumplings were over fried and served cool...even though they arrived 10 minutes after ordering.)
My girlfriend's order was fine but unimpressive. Broccoli was near raw.
My order was served cold (pork ribs) with some pretty foul complimentary wine. I also ordred the Pad Thai medium-heat spiciness and it wasn't spicy in the least.
Atmosphere was decent; they did a lot of work at the eye-level to dress things up...but don't look up; enough dust & dirt to clog a Kirby.
Also, they gave us like 10,000 spoons but all I needed was a knife. (No knife w/ my pork ribs.)
Kinda pricy for food I presume was reheated - over $100 for 1 app, 2 dinners & 2 deserts.
Waitress was wonderful and deserves zero blame, in my opinion.
I recently saw a review about thanksgiving and how their experience was not good, I went for thanksgiving around 6:30-7 and they were only taking reservations because they were so so busy, they said that their appetizers were like warm? Everything is cooked to serve and everything came out steaming hot and so delicious. The dinners were each 28.95$ that comes with free complimentary wine or Thai tea, appetizers, and dessert ! Everything tasted so good, they also said that Reangthai was too formal??? I don’t understand that haha because the dining room is very well set and the servers wear very professional clothing, the prices were so amazing and I will definitely be coming back and tell as many people as I can.
Went in for Thanksgiving with my wife. The atmosphere was a little off-putting, a little too formal I guess.
There was no indication Thanksgiving would have a set menu, but they had about 8 different options.
The appetizers (one each crab Rangoon, wonton, and spring roll) we're lukewarm when served to us.
I got the pork rib pad Thai; it wasn't bad, the ribs were just pretty fatty. My wife got the chicken teriyaki, which was obviously made with frozen Tyson chicken tenderss and the broccoli wasn't totally cooked.
Dessert was alright (a scoop of their ice cream, a wafer, and some popcorn with marshmallow), but if this is what we get for $30 a plate we probably won't give it another shot.
Love the food (whole snapper), chef, and service!
Outstanding! Exceptional! Impressive! I have been wanting to try Reangthai for some time now and was finally given the opportunity to go with amazing friends. I was blown away by the excellent customer service. Kat was attentive, informative and an absolute delight. The owner and chef came out to greet us, personally. She is a wonder and a true gem in Tallahassee. The food was top notch! The Snapper special was exquisite with the black bean sauce and vegetables. We also tried the pumpkin curry and mango curry. Don't pass those up, I wanted to lick the plate. The cherry on top was the homemade dairy free ice cream - I went with the Jungle Coffee flavor and oh my gosh - yes! 100x yes!
Fantastic, authentic, lovingly made cuisine with personal service from the chef. Best Thai in town!
Excellent food, wine and dessert.
Great food, great ssrvice.
Wrong soup that had no flavor. It tasted like lemon water with hacked pieces of chicken. The main entre was the stir fry octopus that looked like and tastes like breaded frozen octopus. The good ,bad thing was the it was a very small portion for such an expensive dish. I will never order from them again.
Presentation of establishment by decor was authentic and relaxing. Our server was very informative and willing to answer any questions we had. His suggestion were true and not a selling tactic.
Dinner was absolutely perfect. Delicious savory appealing to the eye and tastebuds.
So good!!! The Thai food is incredible and the staff and Chef Donna are so friendly!! Definitely a must!!
Best Thai food in Tallahassee!! Please go, you won’t regret it :)
Ordered lunch takeout of 2 drunken noodle platters. Once we opened it up, half the box was filled to the brim with white rice, with some of it underneath the noodle side as well. So basically, I paid $22 for two half boxes of noodles (that didn't resemble any drunken noodles I'd ordered at other Thai places which were usually flat and wide; these were short, thin, and round) and white rice which I didn't ask for nor made any sense to couple with the stir fried noodles.
Best Drunken noodles and pumpkin curry I've had anywhere in the State.
Always great food. The wait staff are caring and are trying hard to make the dinner as you requested. Local restaurant that has been around for a while and able to survive covid. Please support them. The good people who run this restaurant truly care about serving good food at good prices.
Consistently delicious food every time! The tofu is the best tofu I’ve ever had at a restaurant. Chef Donna knows how to cook every dish to perfection! Service is also very good, and Chef Donna is so friendly and welcoming. The only downside would be that the food is so good that it doesn’t feel like the portion sizes are quite enough- I always feel like I could eat more! But I don’t see that as a fault because I always leave feeling comfortable and satisfied rather than overly full. Such an all-around wonderful dining experience!
I’m low carb and was stunned at the quality of the snapper dish I had!
Very very good food! Def the most authentic Thai in the area that I've experienced! Friendly, helpful staff and a nice environment that stays true to the culture of Thailand. 100% recommended
Went in for a quick lunch with a friend who recommended and was pleasantly surprised at how tasty and authentic this cute little Thai spot is 👌 Our food was received quickly, service was excellent - the chef even came out to see how our food was. I will definitely come back.
Love Reang Thai. Chef Donna takes her craft seriously and the food is always phenomenal. Last night I had the Mango Curry special and it was so good. Just the right amount of heat to bring out the delicious flavors. The broccoli, cabbage and carrots were perfectly cooked and the shrimp was succulent. Thank you for a great meal!
Snapper is fantastic!!
Food is fine but it is way way too expensive. $80 for one appetizer and one noodle dish and one rice dish. No seafood. No duck. Nothing that may cause a noodle dish to be $25. That’s crazy. Thai food should not be expensive. You should be able to get a delicious noodle dish for under $10.
Also, the decor is terrible. No ambiance. And our server was seriously tripping.
The reason this place is not busy is because of all that I just stated. I know, inflation. But still, be reasonable.
Amazing food! Great value, large portions!
This was THE best dining experience I’ve had in a long time. Our waiter was absolutely fantastic, from explaining the dishes, giving suggestions, and helping us with the spicyness levels, to being top notch friendly, fast in service, and checking on us often. We even got to meet the chef who was so very sweet, and amazing at her craft. Every bite was good. The meat was fall apart tender, the batter was soft and crispy, and the sauce was rich in flavor. I can’t wait to come back for more, and if you’ve never been, this needs to be the next place you go to eat!
This was the first time I've ever tried Thai food and it was probably the best way to experience it lol. The waiter was very friendly and nice. He ended up basically convincing us to get whatever he said lol (Guy coulda been a car salesman) And it was all amazing. We got the Chicken Satay appetizer and it was just really crispy and tender. The peanut sauce that came with it was very nice. And I ended up getting the Three River with mango, it comes with tilapia, scallops, shrimp, and some veggies. Everything was cooked to perfection... It was a mountain of food that could have easily fed 2 people and overall just some of the best food I've ever eaten. And to finish it off we ended up getting some durian ice-cream. It was some of weirdest ice-cream I've ever had before but also some of the best lol. So many wild flavors going on in it but it works out great. The owner was also VERY nice and she did a amazing job cooking everything and just making sure we enjoyed the food. HIGHLY recommend this place. Its the best little hole in the wall places and it would make for a nice little date night.
Amazing food and super friendly staff. We got green curry and daily special snapper. If u r looking for authentic Thai food this is the best place. The taste is really worth the price. Ice cream is SUPREME. They r made from real fruit. Durian flavor is my favorite. I saw some comments saying that the price is high but if the ingredients is fresh and good, at least for me it feels much reliable on the the food that’s goes into my stomach. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
This meal is one of the worst things I've ever purchased. I thought the other bad reviews were exaggerations but they were not.
The food was just awful. I don't even know where to start. The rice was completely overcooked and essentially one big glob of rice mush. The "curry" was basically spiced water. The Pad See Ew and Pad Thai were both a giant clump of rice noodles sitting in a pool of water/grease. I couldn't eat any of it.
Even if the food were edible, it was also incredibly overpriced for the portions that we got. It's hard to even call them "portions" because, again, there was nothing edible in there, but I paid about $85+tip for four child-sized quantities of food.
There was nothing positive about this experience. I'd rather eat Dominos. I'd rather eat Kraft mac-and-cheese. I'd rather eat a hot dog from a gas station.
The food was delicious and served hot. This was well worth the peice and wait. Will return to this place.
so many vegan options! sometimes this cuisine can be hit or miss, but it was very easy to customize at this location. I got the eggplant stir fry with garlic sauce and it was decadent!!
Amazing spicy green curry and delicious red bean ice cream for dessert. My waiter was friendly and let us know about gluten free options.
Great restaurant. I highly recommend always getting what is on the special board.
The food here was not what I expected based on reviews. It was not good at all. Also pricey and not worth the money! Place also needs some cleaning, table looked dirty and it was where the cutleries were placed.
One word... PHENOMENAL
I ordered from them once long ago (over 1 year) and was telling friends in town about it as it was some of the best Thai I've ever had...and I've had plenty. They are a lil bit pricey so I didn't go back for a while but wanted to. Finally got to try them again when I ordered this week and was unfortunately shockingly bad. Drunken noodles inexplicably came w smaller portion of noodle and a side of a heaping portion of white rice covering half the plate. The rice was gummy/overcooked - how does a restaurant manage to mess up plain rice? Soup was watery, poor flavor, inedible, although they put a decent amount of pieces of chicken so I don't know if they were trying to economize by thinning the broth so much as I suspect (based on the whole order being poorly done) someone in the kitchen is just unfortunately incompetent/undertrained at this point. Pad Thai was reasonable portion but too greasy w grease pooling in the bottom of the plate. Spring rolls were heavy with grease instead of crisp and fresh, and I did not get my peanut sauce with them as advertised in the menu. Wasted money.
Ordered: Tom yum soup, wonton soup, dumplings, fresh spring rolls. The dumplings were excellent and the wonton soup was good. The tom yum was disappointing. No lemongrass, no cilantro, no chili, ONE mushroom. The spring rolls were kind of a mess, and that was definitely NOT peanut sauce.
- Red curry tofu: Thrown in the trash. Sauce was akin to red, spicy water.
- Green curry tofu: Consumed. Bland. Thin sauce. Overcooked veggies.
- Portion sizes: Small for curry. Generous for rice.
- Cost: The lady told me $38. My card was charged $40. (not cool)
- Verdict: Only if the ownership changes would I eat here again.
Notably, after my "experience" with Reangthai, I called them: Joshua picked up the phone, I relayed the details, he mumbled "sorry", and I hung up.
*The ladies who worked there were friendly.
*I will support another local Tallahassee Thai restaurant next time.
Great food and service.
The best curry I've ever had. I wish I could give this place 6 stars!!!
Very disappointed! This one is used to be my favorite Thai food restaurant, but my experience today was so disappointed. I understand they increase the price due to the shortage. However, with the higher price, I’m expecting reasonable portion, but it’s not. We ordered Red Thai with beef, there are only 6 or 7 small slices of beef with a few veggies; the Crispy Duck tasted very dry, like fried tons of time in the oil; Pad Thai tastes okay. So we got average taste of food, unreasonable small portion with higher price. What is the worst, they even charge 4% more for the credit or debit cards! It costs us two $71 before tips. Will never visit again.
Ordered through phone for pickup and it's complete rip off. They charged extra on what's on the menu and also extra 4% on card payment. The food is not worth the money.
They’ll charge you more than actual price, and I didn’t see the price list when I saw the check, finally, you’ll spend more fees on your order.
Delicious fresh made food, great service, and awesome owner/chef.
This has been my favorite place for over 17 years. The owner is amazing, she cooks the food herself, always knows what I want without me having to order.
Never in my life have I seen fried rice from an Asian restaurant that used parboiled rice. The house fried rice tastes like oil and they mixed in some barely cooked hardly prepared vegetables. Never again will I order from here. It's like they listed the ingredients and just dumped them in some precooked white rice.
DO NOT EAT HERE! I felt like I got scammed, the meal was insanely expensive for bad food. Both me and my girlfriend ordered the specials and they way up charged us and her pad thai came out with so much liquid it was practically a soup. They are clearly squeezing every dime out of customers to stay afloat. You can tell by the scribbled out prices on the menu replaced by higher prices. And pushing the specials and then the specials randomly being $28 a piece. Would strongly recommend to stay away
I have been here many times and every time it has been excellent. This is real Thai food and the meals and sauces are the best Thai food I've ever had anywhere. It is certainly one of the best places to eat in Tallahassee. Enjoy!!!
DELICIOUS and great service!!
My family and I have been eating at this restaurant for decades and it never gets old. Donna, the chef/owner, prepares each delicious dish with pride and love. This is my favorite place to dine for Thai food that's authentic and tasty. She's put her heart and soul into cooking for those who want to enjoy great food, and it hasn't been easy to keep business going through the pandemic but she's still pursuing her passion to provide great food at fair prices. Great place for lunch and dinner. You won't regret adding this restaurant to your list of dining spots for dine-in or take-out service. Let's all keep supporting wonderful, small businesses like this jewel.
I ate dinner here for the first time and ordered the masaman curry with vegetables and let me tell you the vegetables where cooked perfectly and were just soft enough. And the broth was flavored with really complex flavors. And I made the wild decision to order it “Thai hot” and omg it really packed a punch and tasted oh so good.My friend ordered the pad Thai And I tried a bite and that’s deff what if I will be getting next time. For dessert I got the mango sticky rice and the rice was purple and soft and tasted so good with the ripe mango and coconut milk she poured on top. This place is local so I figured to pay in cash and wouldn’t you know it paying with cash saves you money! So if you’re looking for a Thai restaurant to try out I highly suggest visiting Donna and her friendly staff at Reangthai! 10/10
Amazing food I got the duck pad thai and it looked and smelled as incredible as it tasted. After dinner the waitress convinced us to get Ms Donna’s homemade coconut milk ice cream. We were not disappointed we had the jungle coffee flavor. Perfect way to finish off the night. Fair warning there is a 4% charge on any cards but they do have signs and notes on the checkbooks and at the register, didn’t even mind one of the best meals I have had in a while.
I can't believe I have missed this place before now!! This place is very tasty and the food was so good that I ate my leftovers and am craving more!!
The green tea was perfect and I had the BBQ chicken bowl. 😋 😋
They were busy but the service was top notch and she was on it! Don't let this photo of the sweet and beautiful chef fool you!! This girl knows how to spice it up!! 🔥 🔥 🫖❤❤
Great food
Overrated costly
Great Thai food! Courteous waitstaff and chef. The Pad Thai is very peanut-y and delicious. The prices are on the higher end, but this isn't a fast-food Thai place. Come in, sit down, and enjoy the local Tallahassee restaurant atmosphere. There are a lot of vegetarian options as well. This restaurant is already added to my go-to list for Thai food in town.
This was the worst Thai restaurant I have ever been to! I ordered the Masaman Curry and it was terrible. The potato was crunchy/raw and unclean (still had a root), the baby carrots weren't even cut... they were straight from a bag, and the peanuts were just whole boiled peanuts tossed in. The curry itself was Watery and I mean really really watery. Honestly I'd be surprised if there was even a 1/4th cup of coconut milk in the curry. After eating what I could before my stomach hurt from the uncooked potato I got the bill. I noticed everything was $1 higher than what the menu said. I was going to complain but I saw a tiny sign at the front that said "Starting July all dinner items are going up $1"... why not write that on the menu. They penciled in other prices there, why not this too. Instead of complaining, I handed my credit card and they ran it. They came back and I noticed it was more than the bill... now they said they charge 4% more for credit card purchases. Is that even legal? I was furious, now I'm even getting nickel and dimed for bad food... How shameful and deceptive. I left a good tip (20+%) because it wasn't the waitstaff's fault even though the server almost wouldn't let my wife order her food "Thai Hot" which let me tell you, isn't very hot. I will NEVER be back and honestly hope people read this and stay away. PS. To the table to the right who it was their first time getting Thai food, if you are reading this, please try other places, Thai food is normally so wonderful and full of flavor.
As a Bitesquad driver who has delivered food from almost every restaurant in town I can say that this establishment is very clean with super friendly Employees and above all a peaceful ambiance for those looking to get away from loud hectic city stress and enjoy a peaceful meal. Despite having not eaten here before, I've only heard amazing things about the food from every customer I've delivered too
The Chef is superb!!! I am a Gastronomist that has traveled around the world. I love to eat at five star and authentic food restaurants. My review of this beautiful restaurant is that the ambiance is great and the food presentation is wonderful. With that said you have a wide variety of Thai food to choose from that will amaze your taste buds. The Rheng Thai is a hidden gem that will out beat any top restaurants and a MUST to experience.
So, I have tried a few Thai places in Tally and this is by far my least favorite. I'm not sure if they were having an off day or if the cook quit and someone was just winging it back in the kitchen. We ordered "crispy shrimp balls" which were more like soggy shrimp mounds, the Tom Kha soup (usually my favorite) was bland, missing herbs and the tofu/mushrooms didn't taste fresh. Ordered the "Wild Mushroom" entree, there were 2 mushroom slices in total....plus the proteins were overcooked and the veggies were way underdone. But the saddest part was the rice! Our rice was overcooked and mushy, so disappointing.
IMO overpriced and overrated
If you are looking for real Thai don't expect it here..not to mention the prices are way to expensive for what you get.. our red curry was like a broth and sweet. The service was also lacking any knowledge..we had to ask for rice with our meal..does not come with any accomodations like a salad or soup.. won't be back here again..had high hopes..
I ordered mango sticky rice (which is about $10... so, expensive...) and got home to eat it (about 25 minutes away). The mango itself was dark dark orange, soft, and tasted like it was turning. I spit it out. Wasted a small chunk of money. Called the restaurant to let them know not to serve that mango. Just got an apology.
