Wonderful hidden gem!!! We started with the whole octopus appetizer, and the grilled octopus was so tender and delicious. My husband got the Tako special fried rice, and I got some spicy pork ramen. The broth for the ramen was so flavorful. I loved it. Service was very attentive and polite.

This is my favorite sushi restaurant in Miami and it’s a hour from my house. Everything I have had here is delicious. We usually order the following:

Kani salad
Crispy bok choy - a must!
Pork gyozas
Salmon usuzukuri - love this!
Hamachi usuzukuri
Japanese garlic fried rice - so good!
Torched salmon belly sushi (2 per person)
Crunchy fire roll - my favorite!
Poseidon roll
Sunny Isles roll - lots of salmon!
Sapporo roll

We’ve also had the crispy tuna rice cakes and the Bang Bang shrimp, which were also really good.

The combos are a good deal if you like sushi and sashimi.

The service is usually good if the owner is present. Tip is always added to your bill.

Went there last year and the food was great. So tried again last week and had a different experience. Ordered the Shrimp Tempura Roll. It was alright. It did not seem particularly fresh. But again, it was ok. Also ordered the Egg Fried Rice. This dish was not good. It tasted like white rice with some soy sauce and a sprinkling of egg. (It looked like that too. See pic.) I couldn't finish it.

Everything tasted great. Ordered gyoza, sushi ramen and fruit tea with jelly.
It was very difficult to get seated even thought the place was quite empty. Staffs seemed too occupied to care for people walking to the front desk. But once we got seated they were very polite.

I’m in the area for work often and always come back to this spot. Their sashimi appetizer is so amazing, big portion, you can tell the quality of the fish and it is fresh! Servers are incredibly attentive and hospitable! I had 3 servers waiting on me last time I was there! The spicy tonkasu ramen is also very nice, I will say that last time I got it, it was creamier and had more flavor and more broth. This time it was still good but the last time was just a little bit better. The bang bang shrimp are also delicious and huge. Definitely recommend this place and I will 100% come back next time I’m in Sunny Isles.

Edit: 2 years later, I just want to add that I still love this place. The sushi is some of the freshest sushi I have had outside of Japan. Also the service continues to be outstanding.

I order fried rice no chicken happen twice order to go when I get home I open container full of chicken Very upset about that. Plus they advertised the online menu the bang bang shrimp for $12 when I go inside and order i see price $18 ask why she tell that change a big scam.

Fish quality was pretty good despite me being skeptical due to menu having too much variety.

Ordered via Uber eats. Waited 2 hours and the sushi arrived horribly. The sushi all over fallen apart, and the sauce container spilled and was down within the plastic container. I recommend if you’re charging this much please upgrade the packaging you use for sushi delivery. I have worked in the food industry before. I was really excited about my order and receiving it like this was really upsetting.

What happened to my favorite spot sushi spot?!?! Hands down this place used to be a hidden gem in sunny isles and it was always packed that there was always a wait to get a table.

Well $91.19 later and for as much as I would have loved spending that much here I leave with buyers remorse.

The food was just ok, the ramen was cold and my octopus Karaage that used to be my favorite dish was fried in old oil and it came cold. The waitress clearly saw that not only I didn’t eat it but I had spit out the piece I actually did bite didn’t offer to replace the dish or remove it from the check (mind you I’m a chubby girl and usually eat everything) but this time the fishy, dried over cooked octopus was greasy on the tongue, rubbery to chew like a tire and the taste of old fryer oil just make me sick to stomach. My son who also lives octopus said to me that it tasted like grease. Well I guess I won’t be coming here when I’m in town again.

Shame that it got like that … I’ll pay the extra $10 for that horrible dish and I just won’t come back. I’m sure they won’t miss me coming back however knowing the clientele in sunny isles I know that if they keep this up they won’t last long.

Btw I initially had given them 3 stars however my son made me go back and change it … I tried his bobba and the pearls were gummy, chalky and undercooked had a very non palatable consistency and this kid absolutely loves bobba. He liked his ramen 🍜 but the rest of the meal was prosaic at best

Very nice place. Food is great. Sashimi melted in your mouth. The variety of menu is amazing. But we were waiting for our order for 40 min. It’s to long. Even appetizer was served in the same time as main dish.

Two words. BEST. PLACE.

We haven’t found a better Asian food place so far in SIB. I always order takoyaki & my fiancé gets their pad see ew noodles. Almost always soo good. There was one time when we got dissatisfied with the pad see ew but when we spoke to the staff about it they seemed to be very interested in working that issue out. Sushi always great. Very nice spot compared to other similar places in the area.

We, my wife and I, visited this place because found high rated Japanese restaurant. Surprisingly food came under expectation. Seafood soup was more like mushroom soup. Tako roll was just not good for representing brand. Instead of white tuna sushimi we got something different. Finally check included tip 18%. It was not an option. It was part of charge. Moreover, tax was calculated after tip. Welcome to new era of American services! Tip is not voluntary encouragement anymore - it is mandatory part of your costs.
I wouldn’t recommend this place. Sorry for such news.

Great service, I ordered online and screw the order, I wanted to order 1 ramen and instead ordered 2 by mistake. I called the restaurant after I realize my mistake and explained it to them. They quickly refunded me the money for the extra ramen I had ordered. When I arrived there my order was ready. And the ramen was good.

Soooo good! I was staying in the area for 5 nights with work and ate at Tako Sushi twice! Once dining in the beautiful restaurant and once getting take out - both times the dishes were incredible!

The Pad Thai was delicious and the freshly prepared sushi rolls were EXCELLENT!

The avocado rolls were so small they barely put rice in it. Overpriced and terrible food. I wouldn't recommend it. Not sure how they even have a 4.6 rating on Google. It should be more like 2.6

Great location beautiful interior with a phenomenal patio, despite this I wouldn’t recommend dinning here. Food was average at best and super overpriced. Service was terrible.

Very bad take out experience. I waited an hour for my food. There were only 2 dishes. I ordered a whole grilled squid and poke bowl. I was told there would be a little wait but I wasn't expecting an hour wait. If I knew it would be an hour wait I would definitely have gone somewhere else. I am a very patient person but after waiting for 40 minutes I had to ask what's wrong. I was told the squid is done but waiting for the poke bowl. A Poke bowl is a cold dish. They just need to put everything together, it should not have taken that long. They especially have 5 cooks at the sushi bar. My best guess is they either forgot my order or misplaced my order. Overall a very bad experience, I would never go again.

This place is kind of pricy but worth it. The staff is great, the food comes in big portions and is delicious. The drinks are great too. Not too far from a walk from our hotel nearby.

If you're in one of the hotels nearby this is great, it's walking distance from a lot of the hotels. There is a variety of food from Japanese to Thai and it's all flavorful.

Great as always. Every time we come here, the fish is always fresh and does not disappoint. Uni, hamachi, and eel sashimi are a must every time we come to Tako Sushi.

UPDATE: We went to Taco Sushi last night and I hate to say, but it was not as good as in the times past. The service was extremely slow. We had to wait 15 minutes for our Sushi Supreme platter to arrive. Our grilled squid was delivered cold. In other restaurants it is sizzling hot.
Maybe they had an off night...

One of the best Thai restaurants I have tried in Florida. You can trust me since I have lived in Thailand for over 10 years. Not only is their Thai food delicious, they also have amazingly fresh sushi! The service was amazing! It does get quite busy in the dinner time so I would recommend you reserve a spot. The dining area isn’t so big and I would say it’s quite cozy. We also tried some mango sake and it was amazing! Definitely recommend you give this place a try.

I went here for dinner with a friend on a Friday and was able to get seated right away. I was very pleased with the volcano and spicy tuna rolls. Our server Wassana was very sweet. 18% gratuity was automatically included.

I was blown away by the food and service. Not only was my hamachi jala roll one of the best rolls I've ever eaten, but it was heartwarming to see multiple waitresses engage in conversation with different tables. At one point a family got up and their kids hugged the waitress to say goodbye. I was also treated very pleasantly. This is a place that makes you feel at home.

I just ordered my food online and this is literally the most disgusting food I’ve ever had. The chicken is spoiled!! The tofu is spoiled and both taste like they was marinated in garbage! The shrimp in my roll is not fresh either. Tasts like it was fried last week and microwaved and put into the roll. I honestly barely ever leave reviews but this place needs to be aware that they just delivered me garbage and expected me to eat it! I spat my food out twice before writing this. I never spit my food out, honestly can’t remember the last time this happened to me.

Friendly staff and great location. No draft beer but the bottles are cold. Edamame and (quite sweet) tacoyaki were a good starter. Tuna tataki looks very nice but lacks the char. Pad Thai (beef) was fantastic and definitely a return dish. The $20 for instant ramen is an embarrassment for such a nice establishment and should be removed from the menu.

We have been coming to Tako Sushi at least once a week for a few months now, and we love it here. The atmosphere is nice and cozy, the food is great, and fast service. Everyone is so warm and welcoming, and we always look forward to seeing KT, our server, every time we go (it’s a huge reason we keep coming back!). I am vegetarian, and there are plenty of dishes for me here. Their mochi is great, and their fried ice cream is a must! Highly highly recommend- both for the warmth/hospitality, as well as the food!! ❤️❤️

4 nights out of 7 at Sunny Isles Beach my family spent at this restaurant. One lunch, two dinners, and one second dinner after an unfortunate experience at a restaurant down the street. High quality food, delicious with awesome atmosphere. Will definitely come here when we’re back to Sunny Isles again. Oh, and the cocktails are amazing.
