Upbeat eatery providing familiar Thai eats such as curry, noodle & rice dishes, plus lunch specials.
I had a couple of sushi rolls, spicy tuna, and avocado both excellent..Then for main course the chicken and garlic from the traditional menu. It was very good. Cooked right, and you can taste the garlic. It's a family owned business so very good indicator for good quality authentic Thai food.
Very cute and very clean! Excellent service. The lunch menu was exactly what I was looking for! For $10, I got pad thai, a small cup of soup, and small spring roll. The server was so kind - she made sure everything was vegetarian for me. Excellent value and the food was delicious! I'll be back!
Met a friend here for lunch on a weekday. The restaurant is cute and the service was good. They were pretty busy. I ordered Panang curry with chicken. The panang was kind of odd, way too much peanut butter. It really wasnβt very good. The lunch came with soup and a veggie spring roll which were both tasty. I thought the price was reasonable. My friend really liked her basil chicken dish.
Sila Thai has an exceptionally good and varied menu of regional Thai cuisine which is almost never found in the USA. Its ingredients, recipes and chefβs team are outstanding and high performance. The dining room is a rich collage of Thai art, symbols and culture. The dining room professionals are knowledgeable and friendly. Sila Thai is unpretentious. Much of its charm comes from its simplicity. It delivers superb dishes at a very good value-to-price. If you want to sample Thai cuisine like youβve likely never enjoyed before, Sila Thai is your place!
Completely renovated. Bright and comfortable. Also offer new menu. The dishes that I have are good.

The specialties dishes are good, however, the last time I visited, it took 45 minutes to get the food. No explanations, but did see a lot of online orders. There are a lot of competitions in the area, I can dine-in elsewhere and don't need wait this long. Took out 1 star for the service.
This was the worst experience we had for a long time. We wanted something curry, we saw the rate is 4.5, so we said ok, let's give it a try.
We walked in with only one guest there. They play awful music. Swift hut not sing by her. They didnt give us any utensil and never remembered to give us any napkin. The calamari was good so I was happy, but then the nightmare started. Their chef specials are literally joke and here is why. We ordered number 1, orange plum sauce duck, it was literally plus sauce and you dump a duck leg in there, 0 effort. It was over over sweet, my husband said the chef or the people in that restaurant definitely never tried it, it's unbearable. Then the worst worst part came, when my Seafood paradise arrived, I smelled the Japanese curry cube smell. I was not willing to believe a 4.5 star Thai restaurant will be this cheap, so I tasted it, I invited my husband to taste it. If anyone thinks I'm joking, please try this Seafood paradise. It is literally the supermarket Japanese curry cube!
There are so many Thai restaurants in St Pete, sila Thai is definitely the worst. If you must eat here, the traditional Thai food menu is the only one worth a look, but they still don't do it well. I highly recommend everyone don't waste time and money here.
this place was amazing! we were immediately seated and our food came out very quickly. all our food was delicious. prices are good and meal portions are a bit large. they have a great selection of rice, noodle, and curry dishes, along with the sushi menu. all the staff we interacted with were very nice and helpful. great place for thaiβwould recommend!
I tried it three times.
First time was four months ago.
It was really tasty and fulfilling
The last two time were recent. Food was tasteless and filled with fat bad oil.
Very little proteins whether shrimps or chicken.
The only thing thatβs good in this place is service. Not worth visiting anymore.
Despite the dated dining area, the food is wonderful: their green curry with eggplant and tofu was mouthwatering. The khao soi that my dining companion had was as good! The servers are accommodating and genuine. I will be going back!
The sweetest little sushi spot. They deliver delicious EVERYTIME. Love this place sm!
Great food and pleasant environment.
Love this place! We have been coming here for years, and we could eat here multiple times a week. Their brown sauce is fantastic, as well as their sushi. You can't go wrong! Plus, the servers are always friendly. The price is fair!
Authentic thai food. Our family loved every single bite.

Love this place. The food is amazing and the atmosphere is lovely. Always so patient and loving with our children. Love the Poke bowls. If you are looking for thai and/or sushi this is the best place to go.
Good Thai food..great service
What a great staff and food
Come for their Tom Kha Gai, stay for their spice rack. Wow
Restaurant is too small for me to dine in, but the food is always delicious. The traditional Thai menu is what I usually lean towards as well as the sushi menu.
I had a couple of sushi rolls, spicy tuna, and avocado both excellent..Then for main course the chicken and garlic from the traditional menu. It was very good. Cooked right, and you can taste the garlic. It's a family owned business so very good indicator for good quality authentic Thai food.
Yummy. Lots of vegetarian options with amazing flavor
I got the pad thai and a thai iced tea. They were both fantastic! They used mung bean sprouts with a lot of oomph to them! They were more crunchy and flavorful than typical beans sprouts. The sauce and peanuts were spot-on, not way too sweet like some pad thai I've had. I just wish it had the little bits of spiced tofu, then it would be perfect. I'm sure I'll be back to try other dishes.
First time at Sila Thai. Had a wonderful dinner
Excellent Thai food with an authentic menu too! Will definitely come back.
Great authentic Thai food! Recommended
It is the best place ever! Excellent food and kind owners and staff. I highly recommend this restaurant.
Very good sushi and service.
Very small restaurant with amazing food! Can't wait to go back and try something else.
Service was phenomenal, and the food was delicious highly recommend

Great food.

Delicioso! Bravo! Bon Apetite! This is my new favorite go to for fresh and delicious Thai/ sushi!

Food was delicious, service was amazing and prices were affordable. My boyfriend and I decided to try this place while on vacation and it did not disappoint. Our server was very accommodating and super interactive. I would not hesitate to eat here again
This place is absolutely authentic and esthetically pleasing. Phenomenal food and service. 10/10
The best!!!! I finally found my Thai place. Had the Jungle curry medium hot. It was so so delicious and perfectly hot. Sky, the waitress, was so courteous and knowledgeable and made great recommendations for us (first timers). We just became regulars:)
**One Star is Generous**
If you enjoy mediocre food served with a side of disdain, then this is the place for you. The culinary offerings here are slightly better than average, but what truly sets this establishment apart is its abysmal service.
Our experience began with a phone call to ensure our friend's soy allergy would be accommodated. The woman who answered the phone found our concern hilarious and laughed at the request for no brown sauce. When we emphasized the seriousness of the allergy, she got downright nasty.
Attempting to address this with the manager was equally futile. She was a master of excuses and dismissiveness, making it clear that customer care is not a priority here.
In summary, if you value your health and expect even a modicum of respect from restaurant staff, steer clear of this place. We certainly won't be back.
The food was great, and we really enjoyed everything.
Great little Thai place that is consistent, quick, and priced well. I think the Thai entrees/soups are better than the sushi. Great spot for lunch.
this place was amazing! we were immediately seated and our food came out very quickly. all our food was delicious. prices are good and meal portions are a bit large. they have a great selection of rice, noodle, and curry dishes, along with the sushi menu. all the staff we interacted with were very nice and helpful. great place for thaiβwould recommend!
There is NO better restaurant in town I eat here many times a week the food is consistently perfect, the people here treat you like family and you will always leave full belly and smile from sila Thai bring your friends and family π
I love pad thai, and usually when I get pad thai at other places, the chicken is weird and rubbery. I just thought that was normalβ¦LOLβ¦But here, the chicken was really good along with the rest of the dish. I enjoyed it a lot, the atmosphere is nice, and I like the relaxing music :) Service was good too!
Wow. I have driven by this place a million times over years and finally decided to try them out. I didn't expect it to be as amazing as it was. 1st the crab Rangoon was AMAZING! So delicious. I also got 3 speciality rolls Volcano, Sunset, and Florida roll. All 3 were beautiful and so tasty. I also got the fried banana for dessert and..... honey yummmmm! Everything...everything we ordered was delicious. The staff was so kind and the restaurant looked very clean inside. Overall I highly recommend and am only sad I didn't try them sooner as this is now my new favorite sushi spot. Legit sooo goooood.
FOOD WAS AMAZING! I got the yellow curry (Thai-hot). It was very spicy but not too much where you can't overcome it and enjoy the rich flavors. I will definitely be back to try more food π
Of all the Thai restaurants in South Pinellas County, this one is the best! They have great Thai coffee, Thai tea, food, the servers are the best! And the owners and management are exceptional. In fact, Sila Thai restaurant is superb because the owners and management are superb.
Weβve eating here before and we have no problems with the business! but the young girl server tonight with the ~braces~ apparently she has a problem with us or something because she started by barely cleaning our table before we sat down. She even gotten the party after us their order first while our waters we ordered haven't even came out yetβ¦. She passed by our table multiple times without even asking if we were ready to order(clearly our menus were closed) she got that smile and fake attitude that erks me so I had to let this outβ¦. Maybe because we brought our baby with us I donβt knowβ¦. N e ways this was the problem tonightβ¦..
This place has such amazing sweetheart people and such delicious food! We highly recommend it!
Had Chicken Satay, Green Curry Squid and Chicken Teriyaki. Everything was so good! Great atmosphere and great staff. Found my new Thai restaurant π
Best Thai in Tampa bay!
This is my favorite Thai restaurant in all of St. Pete. I come here almost every week for lunch and it's always good. The ingredients are consistently fresh, and the service always comes with a smile. I would definitely recommend it.
Rude staff dirty kitchen over priced do not go here. There are many great Thia places and many great sushi restaurants in Tampa Bay this is one you should avoid.
Outstanding food and service. Absolutely have to get the crab Rangoon.
Iβve only gotten food from here delivered from Uber Eats and the food is fantastic! Iβve tried quite a few Thai restaurants in St.Pete and this is by far the best. The only place that tastes authentic to me. Their chicken basil is so delicious! Exactly how it should taste. Thanks for being so awesome and satisfying my Thai food craving!
Ordered carryout and half of the order was wrong. Small portions and very expensive, not going back
Sila Thai is best Thai in town
Better atmosphere and all around authentic "best" Thai I have found thus far in Central FL. It's in St. Pete but worth the time and drive. 2 menu's...authentic Thai dishes on one i could barely recogniznΓ°...it was fun and the waitstaff was extremely helpful ....We plan to return and try more dishes. Plenty of parking
Good sushi. Amazing service staff.
Absolutely love the food! I highly recommend them!
Small, wholesome, family own business, with great food with even better people.
Always great food and great service. Friendly staff.
This is my new favorite place...yummy food
Sila thai is our go to when we're craving Thai food. I'm glad they were able to bounce back after the renovations. This location receives a ton of pick up orders so if you're dining in there can sometimes be a wait. On those days we just go in to eat outside of peak dining times as this is a small business. My food has always been consistent regardless if I dine in or take out so I definitely recommend this place
I've been eating at this restaurant for yrs. I love the food and I had a good waitress when I was there recently.π
We wanted to eat something there with our 16 month old kid. The servant was so rude cause our little one played with the sugar packets on the table. He dropped them on the floor and then the chinese lady came and said he cannoy play with these things with an angry attitude. We left the place of course. DO NOT GO this place ever!!!They are not kid friendly at allβ¦
Tasty Thai food and sushi and very friendly staff
The food is great. My only criticism is that everyones meal doesn't come out at the same time. I'm not saying a minute or two. Often, it's 5-10 minute gaps before our whole party is served. Serving the food to everyone at once is restaurant 101.
Best Thai restaurant I ever been . The food is delicious and always fresh. Service is great as well and prices are affordable. 100% recommended.
We had sushi and appetizers and everything was so fresh and good! The staff was so welcoming and friendly.
Very affordable, great food!
Delicious authentic food with fast friendly service π
This is a very pleasant restaurant. Great food.
the food is delicious and unique! best service i ever had!
Quiet little spot with great food. Would absolutely go back when in town.
I have been looking for a new Thai place to try and I decided to try Sila Thai. The menu doesn't have any veggie spring rolls on it so I decided on the fried tofu and massaman curry with tofu thai hot. My friend also got the massaman curry and also got egg rolls. Her egg rolls looked and tasted like veggie spring rolls and so I am wondering if it was a miscommunication on their part. Next time I order there I will have o ask, because hte other spring rolls had meat in them. The fried tofu was pretty good, the basic triangled tofu with a side of sweet and sour. The massaman curry was also really good. It was not light on the heat and came with onions, peppers, potatoes, and peanuts. We ordered online and I didn't get the option to do veggies and tofu and kind of wish I had both. Next time we go I think we are going to order in instead of ahead so I can get both.
We tried Sila Thai a few times and enjoyed their βauthentic Thai food,β but in our recent visits, our food was very questionable. One of the ingredients in my curry tasted like it wasnβt thawed properly and didnβt taste fresh; instead, it tasted like old, sour pumpkins. As the place started to get crowded, the service quality went down. We waited 20 minutes just to get dessert! Another issue we noticed is that they prioritize orders on a first-come, first-served basis. This means that if there are takeout orders ahead of those dining in, you may end up waiting much longer for your food. Itβs unclear if this is how they manage their orders, but I observed people arriving to collect their takeout orders, including delivery drivers. When they have a high volume of takeout orders, it significantly impacts the dining experience.
Considering that this place is not cheap, they need to have better consistency in food and service. It was the most awful dining experience we ever had.
Absolutely dreadful sushi. Never in my life have I ordered a spicy tuna roll and gotten a tuna roll drowned in a pool of franks red hot.
The pad thai was... ok. Panang curry was pretty bland.
This was the worst experience we had for a long time. We wanted something curry, we saw the rate is 4.5, so we said ok, let's give it a try.

Simply the best ever time
Ordered online for 7pm pick-up. Received notice that order ready for pick-up at 5:30pm. Food sat for an hour and a half, and was COLD! Had to microwave it when home. Parking was limited. Was 1st time going to Sila Thai, but won't be going back a 2nd time.
Completely renovated. Bright and comfortable. Also offer new menu. The dishes that I have are good.

This is our 2nd time here, first time about 3 months ago or so visit was okay. This time service much better, new menus and service on point, food still great!
Update
4 years later
Came here tonight to try this place again wait staff was okay kinda rude it was freezing cold when we walked in. They must have gotten other complaints or heard me. Waitress brought out my bf food first I had to wait for my food.and mine was too spicy.
Food was good but will we be back? Was it and enjoyable experience? NO AND NO.
We drove here in a rainstorm and couldn't be happier! The place is very inviting, the service is fun and hospitable, and the food was excellent. It took me forever to decide what to order since everything looked good.
For dessert, I ordered the sticky rice with mango and it was phenomenal!
High recommend going here if you're in the St. Pete's area.
Both the food and service we had here were second to none. The restaurant is clean and the food is fresh. Iβm looking forward to my next dining experience here!
Curry fried rice is amazing. Won't ever eat any other fried rice from anywhere else again, honestly. Also loved the curry chicken puffs! Love, love, love this place.
Thought we'd give it a try on a carryout. The small portions were in plastic bags and cold. Swing and a miss
Stopped on a whim. Glad I did. Food was very good. Will go back soon.
Nicely appointed and clean. Good selection of sushi and Thai food. I had the appetizer sampler and chicken and rice soup. Prices were reasonable Overall a recommend.
AMAZING Thai food and great service. The cashew chicken is delicious and the Tom Kha soup is always a must for me. Pleasant atmosphere and the staff is friendly and helpful.
Picked up food for take out after a long day of travel. Loved the sushi, crab Rangoon, and salads. I have had family in the area for over 20 years but this was my first time eating here and I will definitely be coming back next time I'm in the area.
Super yummy! Will definitely be back. Everything was delish and fresh. Highly recommend!
i loved the sushi. not bad priced. good service.
Fantastic Thai food. Great flavor on the Tom Yum Goong, wontons, and green curry.
First time to this restaurant and it was ok. I got there around 6 and got seated immediately. The restaurant seems to have a lot of take out orders which took away from how the server attended my table. I asked for recommendations and just got a response to look over the menu. I picked the best I could which was a shot in the dark. The Tom ka gai was delicious, the rest was good, including the duck, shrimp fried rice and chicken pad tai.
Found a piece of glass in food .
Absolutely love it. Seriously amazing. Super sweet staff too. ππ«Ά
I love this place always amazing food small family business nice staff every time I go i leave happy π
Lunch specials ($9.99 - $13.99) and come with a spring roll and cup of soup. I was looking for something light, perhaps just the spring roll and cup of soup, and maybe a chicken satay appetizer ($6.99).
Unbelievably, the spring roll is $5.99, and the soup, another $5.99 for a total of $11.98! Add the cost of the chicken satay to arrive at $18.97. The cost exceed the entire lunch special!
Was the restaurant willing to make an adjustment to a more reasonable price in light of the chicken satay nearly equaling the price of a lunch special, especially since there were others in our party buying lunch? Nope. Pay the whole $12 for the spring roll and cup of soup or buy the lunch special and throw it out. ( I've had their sushi and lunch specials and they are mediocre at best).
If I had been the one to choose the venue, I would have chose differently.
This place is not what I would consider customer friendly. I'd rather go somewhere where my business is appreciated.
Can't recommend.
Fair prices and great lunch specials.
The place had great service and great food. It's hard to find good Pad Thai and this is one of the few places that really hits the spot ππ½ the only reason for the 4 stars is because the shrimp in our fresh spring rolls tasted slightly funny/ fishy. It might have been on room temperature for too long or about to go bad. Otherwise, it was a great experience!
New owners, new look, great food. The lunch menu is affordable and tasty. If you're the kind of person who always orders pad thai as a sort of litmus test for new Thai places, you won't be disappointed. Pad see ew is great too, but my fave dish is the garlic and black pepper with your choice of protein - bring on the spice platter!
Good authentic Thai food I always go there when I craving for real Thai food. Service great friendly, good fresh, fast and clean.
Had a great dinner. Love trying new Thai places down here in st pete. Server was super nice, had the red curry and was delicious. Heard they had a change in ownership; they did a great job. Very good simple Thai spot.
Love their Panang Curry!
Good place for Thai yummiest
Great!! I love rolls. And staff is very friendly. Very recommended!
Weβve lived in Saint Petersburg for about a year and a half and have struggled to find really quality food in the area. This place is EXCELLENT. The food is delicious and fresh. I am picky about sushi and they are now my favorite sushi place here. The service is exceptional and the staff is so kind and attentive to your needs.
Could not ask for anything better. Excellent food, pleasant staff. Very clean place.
Weβve come here on several occasions and have never walked out disappointed. Solid flavor, fast service, and pleasant staff. Price is on point for their dishes $10-20 per Thai entree (we havenβt tried the Japanese dishes).
The inside is fairly small so it fills up fast and gets quite loud. They have recently updated the exterior with a fresh paint job and new signage- itβs nice to see they are reinvesting in the business.
Went for lunch and we were seated right away. First we got the Tom Ka Gai - soup with chicken, coconut milk and lime juice. It was the best I've had at any other Thai restaurant!! We picked the Pad Snow Pea π« which was so fresh and delicious. Snow peas were crunchy, sauce was fresh and garlicky and the chicken was cooked really well. We also got the green curry that was made so well, spicy and fresh. I had to have her pack it all up before I seriously overate! They give great portions as well. Can't wait to go back and try more options.
Not fine dining, but great food, only critique is the tom kai tai coconut soup had too much sugar, once cooled, it was difficult to eat.
Es war sehr lecker und sehr nette Bedienung.
I've been to every Thai restaurant in town many times and this is currently my favorite.
THE best larb salad!
Love their Penang curry.
Authentic Thai, delicious food, cozy atmosphere and cracious service!
Friendly attentive staff, delicious authentic Thai food, small intimate & quiet, 10 out of 10!
Yummmmnm
I ordered through Ubereats and I threw my entire order away. The fish in the sushi roll and nigiri was nasty, the seaweed soup was bland and gross, and the crab rangoons were just not good at all. Thai food and sushi are my favorite and Iβm not a picky eater, what a disappointment.
We were having a case of the Monday blues... And the only cure was Thai Food! We were handed a sushi menu, a traditional menu, and a regular menu when we sat down. We started off with Gyoza, Seaweed Soup, and Curry Puffs. Gyoza was pretty standard... But when I tell you that the first bite of Curry Puffs took us back to the night markets in Pai. I immediately knew we made the right decision! While looking at the traditional menu, I noticed that they had Khao Soi and my decision was made. We've tried a few Khao Soi stateside, but nothing has come close to the real thing. This was the real deal! Absolutely delicious!! It made us feel like we were back in Chang Mai all over again! We also had the Sweet Potato roll and Spicy Octopus Roll... and they made it into a heart! Absolutely thrilled we decided to come to this restaurant and will definitely be back!
The Fresh spring roll were really good and tasty and our fried rice options were delicious with generous portions. Staff were very friendly and attentive. Great experience!
I've had delivery of the food here but this was my first time dining indoors and I must say...I loved it. I loved my shoyu ramen. My friends had the shrimp tempura, green dragon roll, and we all enjoyed our food. I loved Thai Tea and the atmosphere helped me enjoy it. It was an amazing experience and I came on my birthday so I really did love it! thank you so much!
This is my favorite place to get Thai food- it's sooooo good! They never disappoint and their staff is so kind and friendly.
I ate lunch here yesterday and it was so good I woke up this morning and their sushi is all I can think about!
Welcome back! The best, Tom Yum; expansive menu, lots of goodies! Not to be missed!
It was a cozy place with a good menu ,went there for lunch and had pad thai chicken ,I have definitely had better but it was ok for the lunch menu price and taste .
One of the best Poke spots in town. They're known for the curry but the sushi is where they shine.
They also have boba tea but I'd stay away from it. The boba was not well maintained/stirred so it was either mush or too hard all in the same drink.
Pretty friendly staff - especially the sushi chef.
Although I ordered a cup of
seaweed soup, there was hardly any seaweed in the soup if at all so that was disappointing in itself, but it was good. It was loaded with chopped romaine lettuce and cilentro. I don't think I'll order this again. The stir fried cashews with pork and rice was very tasty. I will definitely try this restaurant again.
This is an amazing place. They have the best sushi and pad Tai around. The employees are inpecable, and I love the energy here
The business has apparently changed hands. Ambiance and food were not up to previous visits. Will visit a couple more times and further update review. OldReview follows: Great food; good service. Will return.
ALAS THIS RESTAURANT HAS CLOSED B
Love this place! My go to for take out on the way home from work. The food is excellent quality, the service is 1st class and they are mega quick. Pricing is the best around for Thai. Give them a try, I guarantee you will be back many times over.
Great Sushi!
Iβve had a lot of Thai food beforeβ¦.this is the best Iβve ever had. Everything is cooked to perfection, seasoned incredibly. The variety and freshness is astounding, impressive how they do it with the space they have. Try any of the Thai specialties and youβre in for a treat, they have 20 different specials that Iβve never even heard of and every single thing is amazing. Do yourself a flavor and eat here!
Pretty great for the price.
LOVE!
I've lived down the road from Sila Thai for years, but only just went recently after it was re-opened under new owners. It was DELICIOUS! Not only were the prices fair, but the food was cooked well and was so yummy! My boyfriend and I have tried many Thai restaurants, but this one was the cleanest we've seen yet. The atmosphere made you forget you were right off of busy 49th ST. I would definitely recommend coming here with a small party (5 or less). They can get busy, so plan ahead. The staff was very friendly and brought us water like 10 times! They definitely keep you hydrated. We will be back!
Very good food here. The sushi is alright but not my go to sushi spot. Stick to the Thai dishes and you will not be disappointed! Also their fresh spring rolls are fantastic. Glad this place is back up and running!
Authentic Thai food - the best we have had since being back from Thailand and definitely the best in Tampa/St Pete. Staff is so nice and friendly. This is a weekly place for us to go! Donβt let the exterior fool you - this place will not disappoint!
Hands down the best Thai restaurant I have ever been to. It doesnβt look like much from the outside but it was awesome! I recommend ordering off the traditional menu.
Driven by plenty of times and finally got a chance to eat here and I'll be back for sure! Great panang curry and amazing chicken dish is well worth the calories!!
Food was very good. Service was slow but they were very understaffed so I understand.
