Unpretentious restaurant offering traditional Thai dishes like sitr fries, noodles & curries.
I ordered the drunken noodles and unfortunately, I had only three pieces of chicken with a see of noodles and no sauce. At $14 they definitely should have given more meat. The flavor was good but the dish was disappointing. Tom Yum Soup was good especially if you like mushrooms. I'll return but I won't order that again.
It is a really great restaurant and really really yummy the pad Thai is amazing and the owners/ employees are the sweetest⦠the food is clearly fresh and authentic. Definitely should come here for some great Thai food.
Ordered the lunch special and my order was missing items. The chicken for my curry was not cooked properly, and the soup had no flavor at all. The dumplings were cold on the outside, but hot on the inside (which means it was probably heated up in a microwave and not made fresh). The guy taking your order is friendly, but the service is extremely slow.
god damn the owner makes some delicious thai food. the food is served just in some takeout boxes, but the taste is freaking amazing. you could put that in front of me at a $100 thai restaurant and id think im getting a good deal. gordon ramsay wouldnt be able to survive in this thai kitchen.
tom yum, pad thai, pineapple shrimp curryβall delicious.
I tried this place out a few days ago the first time was extremely good the 2 nd time was terrible. First off I got the ramen with chicken and shrimp told him no carrots i received my food with carrots. 2nd tye food had such a foul odor alone like something that was rotten or spoiled could not eat it. Donβt waste your time or money on this place. 43.00 down the drain
So slow. If you cannot manage that big amount of orders, simply, don't do it! People can't wait more than one hour to eat a simple pad thai. Some people had to leave without eating after having ordered and paid.
Muuuuuy lentos. Si no puedes asumir mΓ‘s pedidos, simplemente no lo hagas. No puedes tener a la gente esperando cerca de una hora.
Anyone know if this is the same talay thai that used to be on hylan before hurricane?
Food is consistently delicious, warm atmosphere & friendly service. Thank you!

AMAZING Thai cuisine, very authentic, kind and friendly staff. Really is a hidden gem, wish more people would come try this spot.

Good place . Food was nice. Very basic place . Best to pick up n go. Little bit expensive for such a place without much ambience.
Very authentic thai food

Be prepared to wait 45 - 60 mins for food. Food is okay.
Excellent local restaurant.
Fantastic food!
The food was really tasty although a bit pricey, probably because of the convenience of being close to the ferry. I dined in but all the food was served in plastic containers and plastic utensils.
Amazing Place, amazing food, friendly owner, I loved it. I would recommend the Talay dumplings.
Best Thai food Iβve ever had. Definitely recommend !!
I have been neighbors of this wonderful little place for years and it never occurred to me to write a review but here it is: After many many meals, I can confidently say that everything has always been fresh and delicious. Great people, great food and great place!
Fantastic meal. The portions were generous and the fruit delicious. In one of our dishes, the slice of salmon was gigantic. Excellent value for money.
The most wonderful tasting Thai food Iβve had in a long time. A really authentic taste.
Excellent food with excellent service! Highly recommend!
Incroyable !!!!!! DΓ©licieux, absolument Γ tester. Jβaimerais en remanger tous les jours
Delicious food. Amazing service.
Strongly recommend for Thai food.
Service was great!
Was excited to try this place when we came off the ferry... away from Manhatten. We couldn't be more disappointed. Ordered item off of their picture menu (lunch special) but was charged for special full price item. Salmon terriyaki for 29$. come on, I don't need a whole Salmon, just the filet like on the photo.
Got a dessert, instead of a drink.
Khao soi was made with angel hair pasta instead of egg noodle. Was kind of meh so we just left it on the ferry for the trash man to take. Beef salad was cooked with sweet beef instead of grilled and mixed per order...nah..not Thai. Beef salad dressing tasted too much like Vietnamese fish sauce dressing.
Home food, little expensive
If I could give it more than 5 stars I would! My family (including kids and grandparents) had just crossed the Staten Island ferry and were hungry so we decided to try this place, which was just across a couple streets from the ferry terminal on Staten Island. I have 2 children who need to eat gluten free due to Celiac disease. We came in the afternoon and they were serving the lunch menu, which was a great price, and at least two of their options were gluten free. The host helped us choose our perfect meals, which were served quickly after ordering. We were able to all sit together at a big table since we were almost the only ones there at the time. The portions were just what we needed for our biggest meal that day and SO delicious!! We all agreed that this was probably the best Thai food we had ever eaten. If we ever visit again this will be on our list of places to eat.
Very relaxing atmosphere and great service π
Eten was heel erg lekker. We zijn de dag erna terug gegaanπ
De gebraden eend was topπ
Super vriendelijk en behulpzame dame achter de toonbank.
Inrichting is eenvoudig maar dat doet er niet toe. Zeker de moeite waard om te gaan eten. We komen terug.
Absolutely loved my experience here. Great vegan options!
Their Tom Yum soup is amazing!
Fav place to eat Thai I. Staten Island πποΈ
We went to the restaurant for a quick lunch and we chose a random place. By the looks from outside we were a bit sceptical but fortunately the food was extremely delicious and authentic.
They have a great variety of vegetarian and vegan food. Best Thai food I have ever had. Definitely recommend this restaurant
Good vegan food options
khao soi was really good! thai fried rice too
Takeout portions are huge. Their pad Thai was good but something was missing and I wish it had more chicken in it. Also tried their Jeeb Fried dumplings and didnβt like them. I donβt think this place is authentic Thai. More like Chinese owned serving Thai but I could be wrong. The flavors just lacked authenticity.
War geil. Also wirklich essen echt geil muss man machen
Food was verry good, loved it.
Ughhh. Like everyone else saying here, this place really used to be decent. Even when the customer service got bad, I still went there because I like the food. Now the food is also bad with just full of vegetables for the chicken green curry. Also, who puts cabbage in green curry?
Plus they never listen to the customer. Every time I order take out, I tell them not to give me utensils. Yet they give me utensils every single time.
Petit endroit hors de zone touristique, servie rapidement et de très bonne qualité. Je recommande
Wonderfully delicious and hots the spot great food great service great Boba
Good flavor. Food was delicious, though a little heavy on the sauce in my opinion. Service was good. Bubble tea was good,
Love their food. The best Thai Food Ever. Hope to come back soon. Stay blessed.
Girl behind counter is so nice. The food is delicious and the entire staff is so kind.
Yummy, friendly and clean. One of the few places that offer Thai Basil Sauce with Ground Chicken. Good place to go before a show at St. George Theatre.
Best meal I had in a while!
After the Staten Island ferry we searched something close by. It was very fresh and delicious.
This place use to be decent. I absolutely love Thai food Iβve been eating Thai for many years. I was excited when they first opened because I donβt like the other Thai options in SI. I noticed the last few times the prices went up and the portions seem less.
I understand prices have gone up everywhere, but when paying 14 dollars for a dish it should have more protein than fillers. I ordered a chicken dish and it was all cabbage, onions and a few other vegetables that were not mentioned on the menu. I was completely thrown off. When I mentioned it the woman said if I was picky I should have said something ahead of time. I told her cabbage was not mentioned on the menu nor were some of the other vegetables that I didnβt mind. I also mentioned the ratio of protein to all the cabbage and onions and she said they weigh their meat for each dish. Instead of offering to make a new dish and apologizing she just said Iβll give you your money back and was sour. Told me I was ridiculous and I let her know she was and that Iβd never recommend or return again.
Very tasty food, the taste of the dishes was as close as possible to the original. Special thanks for the tea, it was great.
Absolutely delicious food! And we ordered, so I was even more surprised of the quality and freshness of food! Also, the staff called me three times to make sure they understood the changes I had made to my order or if they were missing something and they wanted me to choose something else. This was around the time they were closing and they were so considerate and accurate. We had ordered the tamarind eggs (9/10), fried vegetable dumplings (8/10), Thai Ramen Kimow Noodles (no chicken or vegetables) (9/10), Kao Soi (9.5/10-the yellow curry!!!), and Basil fried rice (7.5/10). AMAZING FOOD! So happy I found a new Thai restaurant that didnβt disappoint, and felt like I was eating home cooked food. It was that good and that satisfying!
The service is terrible! The worst!!!
Had the lunch special Seared Salmon with basil sauce while attending jury duty. I ordered my food to go but ate it inside just in case In case i needed to hurry up and get back early. Lunch special came with an appetizer, entree and a canned soda. Appetizer is a choice of coconut shrimp, salad or soup. I got the coconut shrimp and it came with one fried coconut shrimp. I was a little disappointed knowing that one small shrimp was an appetizer placed in a wax paper bag. Not even a large prawn or a flat spread out shrimp to make it look bigger or anything. I expected at least 3 or 4 or something, being that it was an appetizer. I also got curry puffs because i knew they're good at most thai placesand it was nice that 4 came in with to an order. The puffs were crisp and sweet, shrimp was crunchy and all felt fried. The Food was made fresh. The quantity was little on the small side, so I wouldn't even call it a lunch special being that the appetizer was one 2.5 inch shrimp. A 4 Oz piece of skin on seared salmon, about a cup of jasmine rice andsome stir-fried veggies in basil sauce, was really good. All in all I paid 28 dollars. Got in like 10-15 mins. The restaurant was clean. Service was okay. Had some pretty good for traffic. The lady at the register seemed kind of had an attitude with the way she was speaking to me and looking at me, but I could've caught them on a bad day.
Really great and reliable Thai food. Iβve had the pad Thai, eggplant with basil sauce with tofu, steamed vegetable dumplings, and my all-time favorite from here, the harvest curry puffs. One of my favorite places on the island!
The food is good
First time ordering tonight, was a big lover of forest thai years back. switched to noodle fan during/ after the pandemic and was looking for a better pad thai. The pad thai was good but was wayyyyy too saucy/ sweet for me personally, and oddly light on the peanuts. I would order again and ask for light sauce if that's a thing. My husband god the drunken noodles and loved them. I also got the vegetable tom ka soup, which was DELICIOUS.
Food fresh, flavorful, great customer service!! Canβt wait to eat from here again!
Give that beef some char! Try the soup.
IncreΓble!!! Si viene a state island tiene que venir a comer aquΓ el trato Super pacientes y amables y la comida ufff awesome!!!!!!
Though it calls itself a restaurant, it's more of a takeout place with a couple of tables and chairs. The food comes packaged for takeout, even if you are eating there, and the space is overly bright.
Mislabeling aside, the food is absolutely wonderful and the counter service is so friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend!
Best Thai on Staten Island, not to be confused with Chong Noi, Talay is the winner.
Muy buena comida. Buen servicio y precios razonables.
This place is AMAZING! I love their glass noodle soup and their scallion cakes. I've never had anything I didn't like. What it lacks in ambiance it makes up for with their food. Not a fancy place but its clean, the staff is friendly with good service and the food is really, so fantastic and cozy. I've been here a few times and as someone who likes Thai food I could easily eat here a few times a week.
EXCELLENT FOOD! My girlfriend and I discovered this place through GrubHub and we're so happy we did. Everything we have ordered since has been excellent. We love the glass noodle soup, peanut noodles, tofu, and leek cakes. I like how they have multiple vegan and vegetarian options as well. If you want something yummy, get food from here!
This little spot was perfect after a ride on the ferry from Manhattan. Just a few minutes walk from the outlets, you can reach cheap, delicious and authentic Thai. I might come back to SI just to repeat this meal.
Helpful counter
Great food.
The hallmarks of an authentic Thai Eatery is the owner and cooks. An elderly couple from Thailand owns this place and they've brought amazing recipes from their country to us! It taste leagues better then other Thai food I've had throughout my life. I recommend the chicken red curry! If you love Thai food then you HAVE to try the food here.
Okay so literally everything we got was amazing! The service was friendly and we were served super quickly. The person who checked us out was patient ( we were the kind of hungry that makes decisions hard ). Although we took a little while the cashier didn't skip a beat with offering suggestions! For sure a perfect spot to eat after getting married at the courthouse lol!
Also the space was so clean!
Highly recommended.
Food was amazing, had the drunken noodles summer rolls
We might be their first customers on a quiet Sunday morning. Ordered Papaya salad and Pad Thai. Soon we heard wok clankingβ¦ Both the cold salad and piping hot noodles were freshly prepared. The presentation on white bowl and plate was beautiful. The taste was very very authentic. The conclusion is unmistakableβ¦totally cleaned up plates! Yummy ππ
Very rude customer service! The lady hung up on me and barely took the time to listen to me. Go somewhere else for Thai food.
Love it! authentic Thai food at reasonable prices...and bubble tea too
9/12/22- update, return here a few months back, the lady at the counter (taking the order) was rude and abrupt-- and there weren't even any other patrons in there to say she was steessed)stressed. I'm dropping g my rating to 1 star and will now go a few doors down to the other thai restaurant on the same block.
Love this place
People could be so rude. I asked the cashier whatβs a specific drink and sheβs like your going to have to google that, like was it hard for you to have a personality and describe what something on YOUR menu is??? This place is cold and Un-inviting, walk down to Chang Noi Thai where the owner and her employees have sense.
I love this Thai restaurant in Staten Island, price is reasonable also food very fresh and really tasty.I can say itβs the best Thai food I can get here in this island.Staff very friendly, good attitude &service, know well about food.Definitely come back here again soon.
I used to order from this place often then. I found grey hairs in my food twice. I reported it to the cashier who immediately became offended and told me there must be some mistake. I informed her I was not looking for a refund or free food just simply wanted to make them aware so it does not happen again. The response was rude and she did not want to take any responsibility. No apology no we will do better next time just an attitude. I will no longer be supporting this business and you shouldn't either there is a much better options on the other end of the block thank me later ..
was sooo yummy!!
The food is amazing
Sorry other costumers. We found something...a little bug. We love Thai food. Eating thai food onece a week(mostly we go to Brooklyn) Today was the First time we tried at this restaurant for dinner. We were sick of the other restaurant in the same block(people might know that restaurant is horrible). So we wanted to find good one in Staten Island near by my house. But we throwed away since we found this in 'duck' dish. But I already fed my two kids.......π I was starving. Skipped lunch because my babiesπ so I was super starving...... and now I'm eating instant ramen. Absolutely the woman apologized but no refund. Thai iced tea was good.
The food was excellent and the service was good.
Rude customer service..waste my money.receptionist should take a lesson how to deal with the customers over the phone..
βExcellent Customer Service Is Number One Job In Any Company. It Is The Personality Of The Company Customers Come Back. With Out Customers There Is No Company..β
We took the Staten Island ferry to check out the Statue of Liberty and wanted to have lunch when we stopped. Itβs relatively close to the ferry; just across the street from the mall. Their Pad Thai was really good and we also loved their yellow curry. Amazing value for lunch. Would definitely come back here if we were in the area.
Third time ordering from Talay Thai and it was again delicious. I'm not sure why this location was chosen as another Thai place is on the same street half a block away. Both are good.
Great place.
Absolutely amazing!!! This has to be one of the best for sure. Drunken noodles are definitely the most delicious! The most authentic taste !
I was so excited to learn that this was the original Talay Thai restaurant that was located in Dongan Hills on Hylan Boulevard and Benton st.
They are the best Thai food restaurant around.
They are very happy to accommodate.
Their food is delicious and is worth traveling the 25 minutes just to get there..
Will not disappoint!!
Canβt wait to go back
The chicken was too greasy also the spring rolls. Not to mention how long they took. And the attitude they give. They didn't want to return my money. Never again π
The best Asian food Iβve had in NY. I ordered the lunch special which came with veggie soup, tofu Pad Thai and a drink. The soup was absolutely delicious and it made me want more! You could taste the spice, sour, sweet and savory as youβre supposed to in an Asian dish. It was really really good! Pad Thai was also really good, loved it!
I also ordered summer rolls with prawn and fresh veggies. It was really good! Real fresh goodness inside with a peanut sauce to dip in.
The restaurant is worth you going to Staten Island and take a stroll in the outlet mall near by.
Service was fast and very friendly!
The owners used to have a restaurant by the same name on Hylan Blvd. the food is excellent. You donβt need to leave the island for Thai! Authentic, amazing, fresh food! I had eggplant basil! It was delicious! So happy they are back!!
Gatta say, having tried almost all the Thai restaurants this mom and pop spot is not what it seems. For some reason this spot is rated 4.8 stars and I just can't see it at all. First off most dishes with a protien are costing around 13-15$ for a single plate while other thai restaurants are costing 8.50-11 on the island, this wouldent be an issue if it tasted amazing but, it doesnt. The pad thai sauce doesn't taste home made at all, taste like it came from a bottle and to top it off the peanuts are grinded down to an ash you don't get the crunch texture that you love from pad thai. Dumplings in citrus infused lime sauce cost 8$ for 4 small dumplings that taste like they're in soy sauce. Absolutely disappointing. Only thing that gave this spot a 2 star rating was the delicious pumpkin curry puffs. Please try other thai restaurants, this one is a dud. Oh and btw -- Indoor dining has tables and chairs, but no plates or utensils. You have to use the take out items just to eat indoors.
Great Thai food , This is the best Thai Resturant in Staten Island . Good friendly Service , Very clean . The Flavor was perfect . I really enjoyed there Curry . Homemade taste & Great selection menu with many options and the price was reasonable . I would definitely recommended this to you if you are looking for fine Thai dining. It is hard to find good places to eat in Staten Island and this place is great. I cant wait to go back to this place.
Such an amazing thai food place! The staff is super sweet too :) :* i wish I took pictures of my meal
OMG!! We are over the moon to have Talay back on Staten Island!! TheIr food is by far the best Thai food around. We used to frequent their restaurant on Hylan Blvd and have missed great Thai food since they closed.. We had food delivered tonight and the flavor brought back all the reasons we missed them. The food is amazing! We have our favorite restaurant back and itβs close to home!
This place is not really that good. The wonton soup is full of iceberg lettuce and broccoli rabe, the meat inside the wontons is unidentifiable. The food lacks flavor. If you want good Thai food go down the street to Chang Noi Thai.
Easily the best thai restaurant on the island, i might even say nyc! They have great authentic thai food. I had the fried fish (branzino) with mango salsa, tom yum soup, papaya salad, thai iced tea and mango sticky rice. Had to order seconds of papaya salad and tomyum soup for later. 10/10 chefs kiss u guys omg.
Ordered Thai fried Rice, terrible. Rice was mushy food was bland, nothing fried about it. Stay the away from it!
My favorite Thai food π
My daughter loves it also
Great quality food
100 % Recomendado, muy buena comida, muy amables ,y buenos precios!
This place has excellent Thai food. We thoroughly enjoyed all of our dishes, including the appetizers, Thai ice tea, and Taro custard sticky rice dessert which was delicious. Great service in this clean, small establishment near the ferry. Also, I appreciate restaurants that are following covid protocols. We will definitely be going back!
I was on my way to a concert at the beautiful St.George Theater when I happen to pass Talay restaurant. It's just around the corner. Small place, but as I found out, amazing food. I ordered the Mama's fried chicken and it was juicy and crispy - not oily. To to it all off, I also had the mango with sticky rice, and that was it! I'm coming back just for that. The lady running the restaurant is super sweet. Highly recommend!!!
Not to shabby. I am a big Thai food fan. Found the Tom Kah coconut soup to be a bit to milky and lemony. But regardless savory and full of tasty broth flavor. I believe the could work this recipe out a bit better. But for $6 tom Kah is worth it. Would definitely come back.
This the best thai food I ever tried. Its only a small place to accommodate people to dine in. Price is not bad for lunch special.
10/10 authentic and incredibly delicious Thai food!! Love this lil spot and will come back each and every time I visit SI :)
**too yummy, ate before I could even post a pic!!
The tea is very good.
Talay Thai is an amazing place!!! The food is absolutely delicious and the service can't be beat. The eggplant with basil sauce and chicken is a must try. The pad thai and pad see eu are made perfectly. The chef in this family run business brings a five star feast to the table every time. Go by car or take the train to St. George to reach Talay Thai. You will be shocked to see the delicious culinary choices that come out of this tiny gem.
This place rocks. I love their food. Always a delight. Fresh and healthy.
I can highly recommend.
This is one absolutely wonderful addition to St. George, Staten Island! We ordered today for takeout, and could not believe our tastebuds. Yes, it was our first time here, but having tried other Thai restaurants on The North Shore, we weren't expecting such a home run taste experience!. The Tom Yum soup was absolutely eyebrow raising in the best show of deliciousness from that first taste. This was a lunch menu takeout, and each of our four orders were unique in the flavor profile. No skimping on flavor here. Main ingredient choices for each dish include chicken, vegetables, tofu, beef, shrimp or calamari, mock duck, mixed seafood or duck. So there is absolutely something for everyone. What we chose were green curry, eggplant in basil sauce, cashew sauce, and pad ki mow (drunken noodles). Definitely will be going back! So glad they are here!
Everyone needs to give this place a try! The mango sticky rice is amazing! We also loved the green curry. It had really deep flavor and was very creamy. The staff are all very sweet as well!
Best Thai food I've ever had! I love the veggie curry puffs and Thai iced tea so much. All the noodle dishes I've tried have been top notch too.
Everything here was so delicious recommend all the vegetarian & vegan options. Will not be disappointed.
great food, amazing service, really nice ambience :) would absolutely recommend
My friend and I just went here today and the service was very lovely! Itβs very relaxing and have a nice AC during this hot weather.
The workers are nice and sweet!
Friendly service, great tasting food!
Talay restaurant is the best Thai food I have ever eaten. I have been going to their restraints for years. I am beyond happy to find out they are back from NYC. The food has been consistently delicious of years. They truly are a mom and pop operation.
excellent service and food, everything was perfect .. best thai restaurant
Phenomenal food, good service. We were both so happy with lunch.
Parang City was the best I've ever had.
My New favorite Thai spot. The dishes are so good and the flavors transport me back to Thailand. I had Pad se Ew, Labb Chicken Salad and fried Red snapper with the sweet chili sauce and all were great. highly recommend this restaurant!!
The food is amazing!! Service is great and super fast! Our new go to spot for Thai food!
Just had the Kao Soi chef special which was excellent. Will definitely return!π
Food was delicious me and my friend loved it. Great food and the Thai coffee was on point so do try it.
Delicious food.
Good service
Yummy food and large portion sizes! I was impressed. Will definitely be ordering from this place again.
The best Thai food I ever had!! Had Tom yum soup and drunken noodles and couldnβt believe how good it is.. i am most definitely combing back !
I decided to try soup at this newest addition to St George, so I ordered the wonton soup. Pint container was nice & tasty with 2 large wontons. Absolutely delish. The wontons are light and the flavor is perfect not overpowering. Talay Thai rocks!
This is the best Thai restaurant in NYC! I love the authenticity of the food, friendliness and warmth of the staff, and great prices. This place is definitely worth checking out.
