We're The Orlando first Thai style Hainan Chicken & Rice (aka Kao Mun Gai) Restaurant. We're well known for a Hainan Chicken & Rice and other Thai dishes such as Tom kha gai (aka Thai coconut Chicken soup) and Beef Massaman Curry.
This place is such a hidden gem in Mills 50. I have seen it all over my page, but I’m glad to finally came and enjoy the delicious food! The pork is so flavorful and tender! The place is a bit small if you decide to dine in. The portion is good from the price. I love how it comes with a bowl of soup so it’s not too dry. The price is super reasonable. Next door, they have a bakery with really good sugarcane juice that goes with your food! Highly recommend coming here for traditional Chinese food! Super delicious!
Located inside iFresh. Loved that the menu had pictures. Easy to read and order. Order can be made through the tablet or with the server. The server was friendly. Our group ordered a couple dishes and all were amazing. Known for their Hainan Chicken and it is definitely worth the hype. I would also recommend trying their Chicken Katsu Curry. We loved the taste of the curry and the crunchiness of the breaded chicken. The cucumber salad that came with it was sweet and spicy.
YOU NEED THIS IN YOUR LIFE!!! OMG this food is phenomenal!!! Went last night for the 1st time after seeing several good reviews on IG. We sampled so many dishes and everything was superb! AJ was friendly and happy to share the ingredients of all the yummy sauces the dishes came with. This little gem is an absolute must try. I’ll definitely be back soon and often!
I was disappointed to say the least. I was really hoping to love meng and be a new quick bite on my list when I am in the Mills area.
My friend and I ordered the same meal and were disappointed. The soup had a pungent and sour taste to it. The meat also had a slight sour taste to it like both items were spoiled. The rice was mushy underneath.
Though sometimes I can expect this if it is a weekday my friend and I went on a busy Saturday and there was many people ordering.
I hope to have a better experience if I decide to come back.
Meng’s Kitchen is WAY better than I would have expected! Located inside iFresh Market, you’d never expect a place this good to exist here. iFresh Market doesn’t look great on the outside…but it’s completely different on the inside! We lived in Thailand for 2 months in 2022, and the food here is just as good as what you get there! It’s incredibly flavorful, and it comes out really fast. Lots of great options from chicken biryani to five spice-braised pork belly to Hainan chicken and rice and so much more! We got the chicken biryani, five spice roasted chicken and rice, and fried chicken wontons - all were AWESOME! Would highly recommend. And there is even a fantastic Chinese bakery (Sweet Bakery) right next door! Make the effort to visit Meng’s Kitchen because you will love it!!
Hidden gem in the fresh market. Hiding in the left corner. A lot of take out happening during my dine in. Possibly family owned restaurant. Please support this place. Foods are delicious. Authentic for some points. I had chicken soup with rice for only $6 and bbq pork over rice with sauce aside.
If you want an immersive experience with great food, great service at a great price you have to try Meng’s Kitchen. Awesome!
Got it for delivery, the Hainan chicken was great! Well done!
A small, unpretentious gem tucked inside an Asian grocery market. They serve beef rendang and Hainan chicken rice—both must-tries for anyone craving Malaysian or Singaporean food. It is not the most authentic but it is certainly the best option you can get in Florida! Trust me, I have looked. The food is delicious, generously portioned, and affordably priced. A hidden treasure worth visiting.
Absolutely delicious. Found this place at the Lunar New Year festival in Orlando!! The Thai tea is delightful. Not as sweet as most and just amazing to drink without hurting the sweetooth.
Today I got the pork BBQ noodles and omg so yummy. They packed it perfectly for to go so the noodles didn’t get soggy.
Freezing
Cold food as the place is like a iceball
Hit the spot good chinese pork
It is inside the supermarket no clear signage from outside. The food was questionable as the rice did not seen fresh and it appears a few of us may have got unsettled stomachs after eating the food there. Will not be returning.
I wanted to try this place after seeing it show up on Instagram and that they have one of my favorite dishes which is BBQ pork. After trying the dish it did taste bland as if it’s missing something and was a little dry. I don’t see myself trying the restaurant again.
Love this place! The best chicken rice and noodles I have found. I grew up in SE Asia. And still have strong ties there and finding this place was a godsend! The only downside is the lack of seating. It is a stall within a grocery store.
Good food, not any to speak of a dining area..
Quick and delicious!!
Felt like I was eating from a hawker stall in Singapore. Fantastic and very delicious!
It’s so GOOD!!! The food was amazing and every single bite was sooooo flavorful!!! Plus we’re right next to a cold aisle but all you could feel is the warmth of the food. Highly recommended
Kids loved it
My kids loved it and wanted to go back again soon. They were super friendly.
Muy buena experiencia con la comida y el servicio exelente. Recomendado
I really like their hainanese chicken rice, but recently, the rice has been very hard. 😣 the quality has not been the same. We have tried it many times, hoping it has good quality like before.
I went into iFresh to get some eggs, and noticed they had opened up in the market and the smell coming I new I had to try it. I finally got to and boy it did not disappoint! They even gave me a little of a cucumber salad was very refreshing! I ordered the wonton soup and literally warmed my soul was probably my favorite thing I ordered! My entree I got the chicken katsu curry and really satisfied my curry craving. I never do reviews ever and if I do I never comment but I feel I had to cuz the food was just that good! I will be ordering again excited to try some of their noodle dishes!🥰 10/10 highly recommend!

Excellent
Diamond joint! I come back every other week for their Tom kha gai soup with a side of rice.
Great staff and food. Get chicken and rice
Mengs chicken has been on my list for some time now and I finally decided to order pick up last night. Of course had to get their Hainesese chicken, then also ordered some spring rolls, crab Rangoon and noodles. The sauce that comes with the chicken is SO flavorful. This may be my new go to over my regular Chinese takeout. Rice also tasted fresh and delicious. 5 starts for sure.
Don't be mistaken by the fact that this appears to be a small establishment inside an Asian grocery store. Their menu is one of the most diverse yet remain Asian-focused. I have been coming here since their early days; and since then, there has been newer places that attempts to offer same or similar items Meng's Kitchen does. While most of them are good, none is as authentic and creative as Meng's Kitchen. They get busy a lot of times and food can take a while, but at least here, you can walk around in the market while waiting for the food. The chef/owner, AJ, is well-known in Asian culinary community and is very knowledgeable. Highly recommended!
These tiny restaurant bring us a real Thai street food taste.
Chicken and rice just like Mama recipe.
Crispy pork belly is so crispy, eat here you can hear to the moon.
Do not miss Eeg noodles soup with roast pork, you can take me out off Thailand but you can't take Thailand out off me.
Check it out, you will not regret.
I can only mention and recommend what we ate. I don't like saggy chicken skin and fat left over around the skin, so I personally preferr a cleaner chicken if its not fried. I will go again to try other plates. iIts not a dinner place but you can eat there.
So glad to have this nearby for takeout or quick meal. It's in the ifresh grocery store making it super convenient to put in an order, buy groceries, then pick up the food on the way out. They have so much variety and the food is really authentic and good. I love the drunken hunan chicken with rice. They also have a connected bakery for dessert.

Good portions. If you crave Chinese roast and bbq pork this is the place.

1st time ordering and I love this place I am a food critic and this store passes !! Good job
I am Thai
I'm telling you This is a real Thai fast food restaurant. All dishes on the menu, those are what we could eat "everyday".
I had a Thai style Chicken biryani (ข้าวหมกไก่), is a fragrant and flavorful rice dish. The chicken is marinated in a blend of warming spices, resulting in tender, succulent pieces. The finished dish is a textural delight, with fluffy aromatic rice contrasting with the juicy chicken. When you order chicken biryani, be prepared for a feast for the senses!
And It's of course Thailand's authentic dish!
this is really a takeout place with some quick tables like night market kart in asia. the reviews are so great and there was a pretty steady stream of customers.
i got the rice and bbq pork/ crispy pork combo. the crispy pork was not just crispy, it was super hard so it made it hard to eat. the bbq pork was ok, a little fatty. overall not too much flavor by itself. the sauces were good though. not enough vegetables for the dish. i also got the hananiese chicken rice with rice. the chicken itself was ok. i got the dark meat but there were no bones! so that was a plus. again not enough vegetables and the meat itself was a little bland but with good sauces.
overall there’s definitely msg in the food and or sauces. everything was a little lackluster so unfortunately i will not be going back. if i do it would just takeout the chicken.

Decent flavor
Pictures show $14 ~ $16 per plate
But checkout with $20 for one plate small portion and basically no dinning environment.
I cannot justify the price I paid.
It's a small area in the corner inside a big Asian super market. They might be the only place in Orlando that serves this wonderful Singaporean popular dish called chicken rice which I think is known in China as hainanese chicken rice. It's so good but I think it's over priced for a small bowl of rice, a small bowl of chicken broth, and a few slices of a chicken breast, with a humble atmosphere (see pictures). I still love it there and I enjoy tremendously, but I think the price is a bit too high for the portions and the atmosphere.
Ordered hainan chicken, it was sooo good!!!! Their sauce is really good. Chicken is very moist and tender.
Soup is so delicious.
Ok so I believe every other review for this place is from people that dined in or maybe their friends and family dined in because the food portions and taste for what we paid, is definitely NOT worth the money. Easy to order but we didn't get to eat there like we wanted to because they only have one table and a small booth for 4 people and they were occupied. Anyway, it was our first time ordering from there and the last. We get our order 20 minutes later and we were very disappointed to say the least. We got the bbq pork, curry chicken, coconut soup and the pork spring rolls. All of the food was warm, except the 3 spring rolls which were the size of my finger I swear, the bbq pork was nothing but super fatty pork and all dishes we got lacked flavor. The food portion was ridiculously small that we left hungry for the $40 + we paid for 2 dishes, tiny rolls and a soup. We did notice the food portions being a lot more, if you're lucky enough to eat at their 1 table or mini booth, than the small "to-go" containers we got. But we won't be coming back for those prices or lack of flavor anyway. I will not recommend this place to anyone. Don't waste your money.
Too expensive for the food we got and it didn't even taste good. Food was mostly inedible.
How often does one get the chance to say their favorite meal is on a countertop, inside an Asian grocery store? I can say this often, and often I do. We may be lucky to live a part of Orlando that has so many wonderful Asian cuisine options, but none compare to the authenticity and adoration of Meng’s. It’s not just the consistent incredible quality, or the flavor, or the friendly service I often feel undeserving of- it’s good food. Really good food. A level of quality of food restaurants around the world couldn’t even dream of being able to create. When at Meng’s, the state of my hunger only accelerates when I can see my food being prepared through the window; an opportunity some restaurants would dare not take - but one Meng’s embraces. I often miss Anthony Bourdain and his adventures - I miss him more when thinking of this restaurant - as it represents what he would love about it - an incredible place to dine, at a honest price, and a humble attitude, that finds its way into the food. I cannot wait to be back again, and again, and again.
Great Customer service!! Great price and the food is...well..was delicious 😋!! I found about this 💎 gem on Instagram!! With tip my order was a good $20. Highly recommended go .go right now!!

Food was soooooo good!!! We ordered 9 of their main dish, a salad, and the chicken soup and everything was so yummy!!! Will definitely return to get more when we come back to orlando.
I have finally found a local restaurant that serves Hainanese chicken rice the way I remember as a child visiting my late grandparents in Lampang, Northern Thailand. Thank you Chef A.J. & Staff for serving me & my Thai family delicious Thai comfort food yesterday evening the way we enjoyed when visiting Thailand. We hope someday you will expand your tiny restaurant somewhere in Orlando to bring more of your delicious cuisine to the masses. In the meantime, we wish you continued success, & hope to be back to visit you again soon for some more of your delicious menu items.
Good portion food, very flavorful and prices are seasonable. Staff friendly small seating area.
Went to try Hainan Chicken and Rice. This poached chicken dish can be found at Meng's Kitchen food counter inside the iFresh Supermarket. Couldn't get the grocery store in the photo until I had already eaten half - there were so many people there for to-go orders! The chicken was very tender, and I loved the dipping sauce. Also enjoyed their homemade Thai tea.
Definitely worth exploring and getting some tasty, well made (with care and love) food that has a little something to offer everyone
We stopped by and ordered some to go foods there. The restaurant was inside of the market. It was small, but had many options for foods and you could also dine in if you wanted. We ordered some of them and one of our favorite was roasted pork. It was super crispy and tasty. We all love it. It is worth to try when you are around the area.
The food was just ok and the portions aren't worth the price in my opinion. The pictures I saw online were misleading for the combo Chinese BBQ pork and Crispy pork noodle bowl. We received this tiny bowl of food. Also ordered a Thai tea and fried pot stickers. Everything came to almost $30. Food: subpar
I had the won ton soup and chicken Katsu. Soooooooooo good and tased very fresh
Yum yum and Yum!
Yes it is in a supermarket but don't let that stop you!
The food is really really delicious and best hinanese chicken rice in all of Florida.
If you crave hinan chicken rice this is the place!
We also ordered the katsu curry which had a thai curry sauce on top which is super good.
And not to forget their thai milk tea is just wowzie it is not too sweet.
Meng's is located inside the iFresh Asian market on the NE corner of Bumby and Colonial. There is one table and a long counter if you want to eat there. I think most people take out or order via delivery service.
It's a mixture of Thai and Chinese cuisine. I love their Hainan Chicken Rice, and find it the best in town. I also like their Chicken Rice Soup, which is similar to a Cantonese Gi Juk. Several dishes to choose from at reasonable prices. If you love Asian food, they are a Must Try, for sure.
The Hainan Chicken is excellent!
Get the Hainan chicken and rice combo! The braised pork curry was so good and plenty of leftovers that are even better the next day. Wasn’t obsessed with the bbq pork noodle bowl, would get something else next time.
YOU NEED THIS IN YOUR LIFE!!! OMG this food is phenomenal!!! Went last night for the 1st time after seeing several good reviews on IG. We sampled so many dishes and everything was superb! This is located inside ifresh with very limited seating, so I'd recommend ordering takeout or delivery. Their standout dish is the Hainanese Chicken Rice, which is very good. I haven't tried anything else, but I'd come back just for that single dish. Prices are reasonable. Service was friendly. Maybe I'll try a couple more things when I come back.
This is a very nice little kitchen with small seating area inside of an asian market. My friend ordered chicken katsu curry and I a BBQ pork dish. The food was very good and reasonably priced, especially in today’s market. The man at the register was very nice to us and we sat at the table right next to the register. There is not a lot of seating as to be expected because it is in the corner or the store, but we had a great time looking around at all of the produce, seafood, meat, and novelty items that you do not see at your local grocery store. Will definitely consider making the drive again to get things from this market as they have such a large variety and many fresh foods, as well as get a bite to eat at Meng’s. Thank you for your service everyone!
Every dish we tried here dazzled our tastebuds! Service was very friendly and the whole experience just gave a great home style vibe! We will definitely be back!
Chinese BBQ Pork & Crispy Pork over Rice (Combo) for the 🏆!
I'm a huge fan of Meng's Kitchen and visit at least once a month. My favorite is the Garlic & Pepper Grilled Pork with rice. You know it's good when you keep going back...for the same thing. Today I got to meet Chef AJ and he could not have been more lovely. I even got to meet his mom and they gave me, and a few other patrons, longan she'd grown herself! You don't know CFL if you haven't visited the legendary Meng's Kitchen. I look forward to being a loyal customer - for a very long time. Oh, and don't forget the Thai tea!
Meng’s Kitchen is the best! Every dish I’ve tried there has been delicious. I’m so grateful to be nearby such a great restaurant. Everyone working there is so nice, and Chef AJ is like the cool uncle I never had
Any South East Asian craving for a taste of home, here it is ! We tried the wanton noodles, crispy pork and Asian BBQ pork( char siew) noodles and chicken rice. So good. The place has limited seating and tucked in a corner of asian grocery store -No frills, simple but 100% legit delish!
We ordered lunch from the little restaurant inside the store. Flies were sitting on the BBQ pork that the server picked up to slice up to serve to customers. I wouldn't eat from the lunch counter again.
A hidden gem. Go inside and check it out.
It is pretty much take out place. Good food. Good service.
Inside of grocery store, good place for Chinese barbecue roast pork & other Chinese selections.
Best Noodle with red pork
The food is fantastic, even our picky eater keeps asking to come back and try new foods!
I eat here at least once a week. The quality and taste are consistent and I'd never had a bad experience with their takeout or delivery service. I looove their 5 spice chicken, I just wish you could order the gravy separately for other dishes because it goes amazing with rice
This has become one of our favorite spots to pickup lunch, absolutely love their chicken options and the rice is so rich and filling. The chicken biryani is wonderfully spiced and flavorful, it's hard not to get it every time. Great location as well, can usually find exotic fruits or something new to try at iFresh
I ordered from here on Uber Eats, craving some Thai curry and OH MY GOSH, it was SOOO delicious. The Uber order was ready quickly and it stayed warm on the 15 min trip to my house, definitely checking this place out in person.
Such a hidden gem! Delicious, fresh, so much flavor. Will be returning.. again, and again, and again.
Unassuming storefront that serves authentic Thai street dishes like you would find in Thailand. Definitely recommend a visit.
I had the five spice roasted chicken and rice for take out. I paired it with some kimchi I bought earlier and chili oil. It was a 10/10. Delicious food, I can’t wait to try everything else on the menu.
There is no better sunday comfort food than Hainanese chicken rice. And it’s the rice, cooked in a chicken stock and fat, that is the star. Transported me back to a Singaporean hawker center with the first bite! I just wish they add chili sauce on the sides too.
I love this place. AJ brings the home region feels with his excellent food. Everything is well balanced and portions are good! You can taste all the flavors without any overpowering or flavors competing for your pallet!! Excellent!!
I got the bbq pork over rice. Came with a generous portion of meat. Really delicious and friendly staff!
Absolutely delicious. Friendly service , very tasteful and the sauce is to die for !
The Hainan Chicken over Rice is one of the BEST dishes I have had in a while. The dish is extremely well done and seasoned well. The best part is the dish has been deboned for you. Try it and I bet you will agree, this is a fantastic dish. I get this at least once or twice a week now. HA
Sweet staff and good food :)
The Tom Kha Gai soup here is the best I have ever had. I tried a variety of other foods like their beef massaman curry, the five spice chicken, and the Hainanese chicken rice, and they hit that nostalgic spot for me having lived in Malaysia for a while. But I will always order the Tom Kha Gai soup when I stop by to do my grocery shopping here.
Good job! Awesome “Kao Mun Gai,” (Thai Chicken Rice) next best thing to the ones in Thailand! I will be one of your regulars for sure. Keep up with the good work so that I don’t have to fly back to Thailand just to eat some awesome Kao Mun Gai!! Please stay in Orlando forever!!!
Great food, friendly staff!! 👍
อร่อยมากกกกกกคร่าาาา!! Yay!!!
Delicious, filling, and affordable. Five Spice Roasted Chicken was on point 👌. Will be back.
The best hainan chicken in Orlando. AJ was able to cater our party for 15 people and everyone raved about the chicken!
Ordered the Hainan chicken rice and the Biryani chicken rice. Both of them came with different sides of broth and they were a nice way to end the meal. I really liked the sauce for the Hainan chicken, and the Biryani had a lot of fried shallots which I can never get enough of.
