The Tuna Sashimi, Gyoza, and Sumai apps were tasty, but the entrees could've used a bit more flavor, and entrees had to be reheated. Maybe I came on an off night during 4th of July? Background music was also cooler, loungier when I arrived, then went to 80s hits with commercials, then back to cool Loungey music. You should still check it out...

This place was nice and clean. The waiters were nice and there was nothing to complain about. Sushi were ok and the plates looked nice. The food looked colorful and it catches my stomach. My friends and I went in around 5ish and by 6-7pm there were a lot of costumers. There is also private room for parties and group reservations. I love Thai tea and they have the best Thai tea in the area! Everything was good, the price can be pricy. It really depends what you're getting! Nice place in all!

The price has gone up a lot but the quality and quantity has gone down. This use to be my go to spot near my house but last few times I have been disappointed.

Fabulous food. Our group tried a lot of dishes including Panang Curry, Drunken Noodles, rolls etc. Chef choice entrees were Amazing!! We loved the vibe and ambiance too. And what a cool bar.

This remains one of my favorite Thai and sushi places in Miami. The curries and noodles are exquisite (shoutout to the Penang curry and the Pad Thai), and the sushi is also fresh and creative. Whatever you’re looking for, it will be delicious here. Highly recommend!

Yes! They are open! We just had lunch here today, and it was great! Real Thai food, if you want it.
They also have a private room. You can rent if you have a party of 10 or even more.

Tan our server was great!

When we arrived she set our expectations about wait time clearly as we were a walk in on Valentine’s Day, and let us know about the limited menu as they had been closed, then proceeded to exceed our expectations across the board. Food was excellent. I definitely recommend the Bonsai Creation Roll!

Only ding on the atmosphere is that the walls are currently bare (probably related to the reason they were closed for a couple of weeks) so it made the restaurant a lot louder than expected, which made it difficult to hear each other.

PERMANENTLY CLOSED?
Went by tonight, Saturday night, to have dinner and the restaurant was closed. There is no sign on the door but it was all dark and empty inside. The tables are still there but there was nobody inside around 7:00 p.m.

Looked at the reviews and apparently people have been posting since 4 weeks ago that it is closed. I hope they are not permanently closed as the one on Miller closed down and this is the last one that was left and it was a good restaurant that always seemed to be busy.

I drove from Fort Lauderdale to meet with family for dinner and we decided to try Bonsai for the first time. Amy our server was friendly and very attentive and gave suggestions to try. The food was fresh and delicious. Overall a really good experience for us. Excellent service, thank you Amy!

We came later around 9:30pm and the service and food was still excellent! It was our first time trying this amazing restaurant. The atmosphere of the restaurant is clean and nice looking, the sushi was grade A. The sushi is just buttery and melts in your mouth. Amy was our waitress and was amazing!

Best thai and sushi place. The service was amazing. The hostess greeted you as you come in and the server was very attentive. I definitely recommend the fancy dragon and special fried rice. The prices were very fair and reasonable for their big portions. We had a special fried rice and it was big enough for two people at least it was for us and unless you’re really really hungry then I would add another dish or more rolls! They have a large variety. But overall this was a great experience and the service made it ten times enjoyable.

Check your bill before paying especially if it’s take out. They do charge you differently & they have became extremely cheap with the quality of food, portions and decrease in customer service.

Lobster Bomb is the BOMB! Big enough to share for 2 and the flavor is AMAZING!

This place sucksss so bad that you cannot see what your eating. For a split min I thought i was going to eat good but NO i felt like i was back in hunger games. That rice had no taste i felt like i was eating sponge and grass.(looks sad with no color) - "fried rice" more like depresión. The lady didnt even bring half of the food.
Let me not even talk about that bathroom it looked worse then the ghetto. It was just horror. DONT COME.

Sadly we went here for experience and got a horrible time, service was Good but the Food was terrible we got fried rice all the meats and ríce was awful too many onions in large slices and Good luck finding the shrimps heads
Now the prices were terrifyingly high, you are Just throwing away your money. Not for People.

Never has left me down. I have been coming here for years and I love it. When I have recurring visitors from outside the US, they always ask me to bring them back to Bonsai. The Kimono roll is my fav bit there sashimi is also fantastic and very fresh!

The food was great! But when we arrived nobody gave us the menus so after 10 minutes, I think the manager come to the table and start to give us services after that everything went well the only problem after that was that the guy didn’t write down the order and he missed up one of the plates so my wife had to wait more minutes to get her food but the rolls were very good!

Muy mal servicio. Llegué y tuve que esperar unos 5 minutos para que me atendieran, luego de que me atendieron me dijeron que tenía que esperar de 15 a 20 minutos por una mesa para 2 personas. Terminamos esperando 40 minutos y a pesar de que varias mesas se desocuparon en ese tiempo nunca nos sentaron, al final me fui sin poder ordenar. Mala organización y mala atención.

Bonsai 8st is one of my go to local sushi restaurants in West Dade. I get something new every time I've gone and every time it's great food. They have Thai options for those that aren't into sushi which are also very delicious entrées. If you go, ask for Amy- she's an amazing server!

I just called this place and the person that answer the phone was extremely unprofessional unpleasant to speak to!, every question asked was a Nope Nope Nope with an attitude no specials, nothing I asked for a package of sushi maybe 50 rolls or 100 rolls she told me it’s 24h in advance and didn’t say anything else leaving an unpleasant silence like she wanted to hang up!! No wonder that place is empty all the time terrible service don’t even waste your time going to that horrible restaurant! For the money you pay go eat to a real sushi place cause this place it’s not cheap the the service is trash

This place is the worst I used to go to the one on miller and night and day difference I used to visit this place minimum 2 times a week ill NEVER BE BACK. No consistency with the food or beverages. You ask for a manager and they tell you there is “non”. Do not visit this place its NOTHING LIKE THE ONE IN MILLER.

It is not what it used to be, I’m not one to leave reviews but in this case I have to be honest. The food is great but the service is not, that took too long to ask us for the orders and delivering the food. This place used to be one my favorite but sadly I’m not coming back.

Good food and service, however there is this girl at front who never gives me my change or ask if I want it, just hands me my food and no change which I find a little annoying because usually it’s the client who chooses whether leave a tip or not.

I've been coming to Bonsai for many years and usually order rolls, which are great. For the first time tonight, I ordered the Pad Thai with beef and it was tasty with the right texture. On previous visits, we've ordered some of the Thai entrées and they were just as good. Service was friendly and efficient.

Don't hate it but not impressed. Very basic menu you can get anywhere. Visiting from Chicago maybe I'm expecting more based on reviews but to start service was very lax and left much room for more. Just myself and I ordered well for one person. Shrimps in a blanket which come fried and a sauce right what can go wrong here? Not much but wasn't sure what the bed of cabbage and carrots was for?? Ordered chicken pad Thai again safe. Not great, was more like a BBQ sauce that just really didn't sit well. And then tried one of their favorite rolls. Forgot the name but have NEVER had a warm roll and was not impressed.The salmon was cooked! Leaving the cream cheese warm and soft for a not so good texture. Over all I'm sure all was edible but I just wasn't feeling it. I had to ask for napkins, they didn't fill water up and was just kinda missing that waiter customer engagement. Ready to order?. Is there anything else? And that's it.i would be okay with this if the place was full but there were two people at the bar and myself and the people at the bar left right as I got my glass of water so for sure there was time for a hello how is it going, have you been here before, I can recommend some stuff.....nothing.

We went there a Wednesday night (not even weekends) 3 adults and 2 kids, and they charged us with the 18% ($30.00) of the Tip just because this depends on the numbers of persons, not the quality of the service, first of all this is not a High-end Restaurant for that and we for example had to wait a lot for the food. NEVER AGAIN THERE !!!

This place used to be my go to now they are super cheap the third and the last time I will get a 2 go order and will have one little soy sauce and zero wasabi because they try to save money. Not to mention the quality of the sushi went really down I ordered four different rolls each one was soggy and mushy. I order from there once a week they could save their cheapness of not putting wasabi and telling you that it’s in the bag for other customers. I will not return. I do not have time to take out all the sushi from the to go orders while people are standing in line to see if I have the correct sauce when the girl behind the counter tells me there’s several each including Wasabi. .

I went there today and was seated by the hostess. I sat there for about 20 minutes and no one came to the table. All the staff were just wondering around and would look over, but no one came by. The restaurant was empty accept for one other table that had two people. Terrible service and the restaurant was dirty as well.

My husband and I are regulars here. We usually get served by Amy or Lana. The food is delicious and we always get the best service. The riceless roll “sunset roll” is my favorite!

Ordered online for pickup. We brought home the order and noticed an entree was missing. I has to drive back, while my food at home got cold. The host in the front had a bit of an attitude when I seemed annoyed. For these prices I expect better service.

Really needs to prioritize the customers eating inside over fulfilling online orders, or have a separate crew and kitchen for the two. I think he wait staff is doing their best but they don’t see to be able to keep up with a crowded dining area and dozens of online orders simultaneously. They brought out stuff for the wrong table, forgot items that we ordered, etc and it was all honest mistakes. I honestly think these poor people are wearing too many hats.
