Established in 2007, Sawaddee Thai & Sushi Restaurant is a Miami Beach staple, offering a delectable fusion of Thai classics and fresh sushi selections. Nestled on Bay Drive, this eatery entices guests with aromatic curries, vibrant noodle dishes, and melt-in-your-mouth nigiri. Using only the finest ingredients and honoring authentic recipes, Sawaddee promises a flavorful journey for diverse palates.
Order took two hours to arrive; the poor courier waited at the restaurant for more than 40 minutes. When the order finally got to us, it was poorly packaged: misshaped containers, a soup lid was cracked, multiple items had leaked in the bags and made other items soggy. Most of the food was cold and too spicy and sweet, but those were the least of our problems at that point.
I absolutely love this place. It’s the cutest little Thai restaurant in Miami Beach. The food is amazing for a reasonable price. Also, you can bring your own drinks without having to pay an overpriced amount like in other restaurants. I will keep coming back over and over again.
We loved the food and the service was friendly. We have been twice so far on our holiday. The fried ginger snapper and crispy fried snapper curry were delicious (we asked for mild and it was perfect for us). Paid around $68 for one starter and two mains (before tip). Travelled there on the L from South beach around 1/2 hour. Would recommend.
I really wanted to fall in love with this quaint Thai restaurant (they also have sushi), but it fell a bit short of what I expected. The place has a great neighborhood feel and the service was both friendly and attentive. They have a BYOB policy so we brought a few bottles of wine to enjoy, which was wonderful. The Thai appetizers were very good, especially the nam sod. I usually try to order more authentic and difficult to find Thai dishes, but the pad Thai was highly recommended by the staff. I asked for it spicy. Overall, I was very disappointed with the dish. It was extremely sweet and totally disrupted the balance that makes pad Thai so delicious. It had zero heat, not even slightly spicy. I was really expecting more since it was recommended and it entirely changed my opinion of the restaurant since everything was good up to that point. My friend also ordered the pad Thai and agreed that it was far too sweet and had no heat. We were too full for dessert. Overall, pros were clean, friendly, BYOB, and tasty appetizers. Cons: pad Thai was poorly executed and totally missed the mark which is really disappointing for a Thai restaurant.
This is your mom and pop Thai restaurant. It not really fancy but quaint. The food for lunch is priced well but dinner is a bit more . I had the green curry. I like there curry it is not as sweet as man Thai curry. The spring rolls are always fresh made and very crunchy light outside with good stuff not just cabbage.
I wish I could give 4.5 stars instead. Food was pretty good, but a bit pricey. We got the chicken pad thai, spring rolls, and chicken satay. Pad thai was one of the best I have ever had, but the spring rolls and satay were a bit boring and the sauces were watery. Overall though, I liked the food and will come back in the future!
This place is not for tourists. This place is for locals! Atmosphere, nothing special, old, needs some work. It's definitely not a shick place. But that's doesn't matter! Food! Food is the best. And service friendly, it's like visiting grandma... If you like Thai food, that's a place to go.
Had the dragon roll and the duck. Both were amazing. Will go back!
The food is very good, also very good quality amd fresh!!
I love this place

Been coming here for years, never lets me down. Great food all throughout and great service
Definitely not going to be my last time food was splendid the ambience was great as well.
great food, long wait and auto adds tip regardless of party size, didn’t even tell us beforehand
Food was mediocre at best. Bland and not the flavors you expect from a Thai restaurant.
Had a wonderful meal after a nice day on the beach .
I have read other reviews and agree, a large amount of rice should be offered .
I am from NY and it took my back home and the quality and experience of good Thai and Sushi .
Have been there many thimes . Will be back .
Delicious! Friendly staff, quick service! Recommend if you like Thai food
I really loved this spot. It's a great place for a date. Had a pleasure of a friend of mine taking me there. The food was excellent.
Best Thai in Miami! Very fresh and consistent. We drive an hour and a half at times, to eat here. Staff is friendly and food is incredible.
Excellent service and food, thank you for keeping my iphone 15 charged , while I was able to recover it , someone turned it in…very trustworthy !
Very good food. The fried cheesecake is a must try.
BEST RESTAURANT IN NORTH BEACH AND THE GIRLS THAT ARE ALWAYS THERE ARE THE ABSOLUTE BEST!!!!!!!
SUPER yummy & amazing service. The food came quick and was DELICIOUS. Meaw was so sweet. I’ll def be back ❤️
In need of more staff. At least 1 more, curry meat is dry and more bamboo shoot than I've ever seen before . Rice is 3$ and the give a cup that's very small. Below avg sorry
This Thai food is horrible, food and service, my first and my last. I can cook way better, the food is horrible
Take out order. Took more than an hour and 15 minutes. They blamed it on the driver, but our stop was the first stop. The restaurant was overwhelmed. They used to have top-notch service, but they need to work on that for the price they’ve increased the food to. If I’m gonna spend $100 on dinner for two people it better be on time.
The best sushi Thai food
Love the authentic food.
The food was disgusting, the worst Thai food I've ever had, fried rice was so soggy , and the soup was bitter
It's a cozy little place with an interesting approach to Thai food. The staff is friendly, and the food is great. I brought my friends from New York for dinner, and they loved it!
Very humble hosts. It is so pretty cooler that that sushi’s are served on boat platter. Additional points for quiet place.
The worst Thai food I’ve ever had. I would leave the review at all but I feel like they need to step up on their food, ingredients. The oil they use is horrible and honestly it’s just bad. Even something simple like Tom yum soup came with bunch of shrimp and big pieces of onion and sweet. Papaya salad was not fresh.
I did not expect to find an authentic Thai restaurant in Miami Beach area but the food here is exceptional. We ordered Tom yum Soup, Spicy Edamame and Fried Rice and all of them were good.
Tasty food
Decent quick service
Cleanliness of staff and kitchen could be better
Because there kitchen faces the parking lot you are prevy to a lot i.e kitchen staff smoking throwing out trash etc. Then getting back on line to prepare meals w/out washing there hands.
I did let staff know what I witnessed and I was disregard and told they don't so that although I just witnessed it prior to entering the establishment. I've been eating here for years and never gotten sick however cleanliness is next to godliness. Your advised
Best Thai restaurant I’ve been in for a long time, I had the Thai green curry lunch special 👌🏾!!!..
Rices way too expensive.
I loved this place! The food was delicious and the service was phenomenal!
Amazing sushi. Their salmon is so fresh and the nigiri is perfect.
Take out
This place is, hands down, one of those BEST places to accidentally find out. Amazing food, great prices, perfect service
Best Pat See Eew
My friend usually order and pick up , so I went for lunch first time place looks not that clean polyester tablecloth food was ok I was disappointed it
Best Asian Thai food in Miami by a mile. The Sawaddee fried rice is spectacular!!!
This is the best Thai food I ever had. The hostess was very kind and welcoming. We came 5 minutes before closing, but they were nice enough to serve us. It is a perfect place to go to, if you’re looking for a comforting, local place. I recommend eating at this amazing place. 100%
Awesome place. Quite and Quaint
My number 1 Thai restaurant in Miami Beach. Their food is very consistent and delicious. I’ve been to Thailand and their red curry flavor takes me right back to Phuket. We love their garlic Duck too.
Go . Great Thai food.
Nice waitresses. Chill out place.
Cooks and staff are constantly smoking outside and they are using the beautiful tree in front of the restaurant as a personal ashtray.
There are hundreds of cigarette butts on the grass next to the restaurant.
I live in the same neibour and this is unacceptable. It took me only one minute to collect all this cigarette butts leave them on their door.
If this is the respect they give to the planet and the neibour I don't even wanna think how they treat their own guest.
Please be mindfull
Hot, fresh, local
We loved the food and the service was friendly. We have been twice so far on our holiday. The fried ginger snapper and crispy fried snapper curry were delicious (we asked for mild and it was perfect for us). Paid around $68 for one starter and two mains (before tip). Excelente comida no deje de visitar este lugar
Best Thai food in Miami, but careful—when they say spicy they mean it! Get the pad thai and the Tom Kha.
I ordered Tom kah coconut chicken soup and thats not at all what they gave me. the broth in whatever soup they gave me was extremely SOUR. The spring roll was mushy inside so not cooked long enough and the shrimp tempura sushi roll was honestly gross the sea weed was extremely chewy the shrimp inside had been fried and sitting out for idk how long so it definitely was not freshly made.
Very delicious and adorable peices
Best Thai food around. Quality and service on point every time. The food is so delicious and will immediately become a favorite. It's a go to for us at home.
Absolutely delicious!
This place is a little gem. The food is wonderful.
Very average food with a not really attentive service. Will not go back.
Delicioso
Great, Pad Kra-Prao Gai. I asked for extremely spicy and got it! Very nice atmosphere for lunch. Friendly and very efficient wait staff. Looking forward to returning again and again.
I have been going here now for several years. The food and service is consistently good and always meets or exceeds my expectations, and trust me, I’m critical.
Great food, great service
Super good! All food is excellent, and it’s a big menu. Lots of options.
Espere 40 minutos para una orden take away, la cajera vio que estaba con una bebé eaperando afuera, entre a preguntar y recien se pusieron a prepararlo, una falta de respeto. Todo mal hecho, mal armado, no vuelvo nunca mas
Spectacular food. Edameme, seaweed salad, the rainbow 🌈 roll the seafood pad Thai was out of this world 🌎. Thank you Sawaddee
The food was delicious, the kee mao noodles were amazing!
Solid experience. The tofu spicy basil was seasoned well and not too heavy. Flavorful rice and the Thai iced tea was refreshing.
I'll be back for sure
This is always a solid place to go. They don't any alcohol but they have a neat uncork policy, you bring your own wine and you pay nothing to have with your dinner. Service is very good prices are reasonable.
Authentic delicious Thai food and the service is excellent.
I came to fly a Drone around here and I saw a big line of people waiting to getting so I decided to come in and try the food, and yes very happy to taste a couple of sushi and the duck plate, one thing that got my attention is that they sell alcohol like every other restaurant, I would have to come back to try some of the cool drinks that I saw in other tables, the employees are very friendly and welcoming the look is very well made to the theme, give it a try!
Hands down one of my favorite thai spots for lunch in Miami Beach! Great deals and quality of food!
Nice food, but unfortunately I received my food super spicy 🥵, when my order was not spicy.
Una linda experiencia.
Always love this place and i keep coming.
Excellent dishes. Very flavorful.
Solid authentic Thai neighborhood restaurant. Been on several occasions and they are consistent. I think the only thing I wasn’t crazy about was the papaya salad, but overall my experiences have been positive.
One time in the life !!!! Lol
No chili oil on site = not authentic. A true Thai restaurant tends to have chili oil already at every table or at a minimum they have it available. Pad Thai was mild (no chili oil) and had overcooked noodles with little veggies or egg. Shrimp volcano entree looked more like an appetizer. Overprice for what was served. Sushi was great and staff was nice.
Great sushi! Will come again !
I love it
Our food was amazing. We've eaten Thai from many places and this was as good as we've had other than in Thailand and Malaysia! Excellent.
FYI we had the Pad Thai and Penang Curry. Superb!
Solid Thai food.
buono e ti porti tu il vino
Everything great.
Overpriced.
Amazing 👏 especially the Thai donut :)
I absolutely love this place. It’s the cutest little Thai restaurant in Miami Beach. The food is amazing for a reasonable price. Also, you can bring your own drinks without having to pay an overpriced amount like in other restaurants. I will keep coming back over and over again.
We live locally and have ordered delivery and takeout from Sawadee several times. Unfortunately, their prices have gotten so out of scale ($20 for a regular order of pork fried rice and $24 for a normal beef cashew entrée) I can't recommend them any more. The quality of the food is good, coconut shrimp and pad Thai are great options, but it's just gotten too expensive for what it is.
It was closed when it was supposed to be open.
Good food but to to hot
Take almost 2 hrs to get the foods for party of 15 at the time only 15 of us. Foods little salty.
BYOB!!! Best sushi I ever had!!! Even though they didnt have any alcohol it was a great experience. Small but cozy and the server was super helpful and nice.
Great food and service!
Better than average Thai entrees, I’ve never tried their sushi items. This place is not going to meet the expectations of a Thai food truest, but good enough for takeout food. Service inside can be hit or miss. Often a miss, especially during peak times.
DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY! Overpriced, not fresh, super spicy food! Regret ordering there.
A surprisingly great restaurant Ambiance was phenomenal and so was the service and food. It was off the street and we only found it on the web.
the best tasting food EVER!! I've had phad thai from several places in central fl but this place is top teir!!
Great Thai food. My favorite Thai restaurant close to home. Everything is really good. Can’t go wrong with any of their dishes and I’ve had almost all of them.
Always consistent on their food
Great food and service
Good sushi and Thai food, but no masks worn by staff
We went specifically for lunch specials. We are very pleased. We eat a lot of Thai food and this is a good place to go. Dinner prices were a little pricey for us, but not for the area. We will definitely go back.
Super tasty! I’ve had their chicken pad Thai, Tom Kha soup, and seafood basil special. It is very pricey for the food, but delicious every time!
Good local spot, no frills but warm welcoming decor. Pad Thai is hit or miss with sometimes having no flavour but others being great so it really depends on the day. Server forgot out appetizer but the main dishes are a great portion size so we had enough to take some home as leftovers. A little more expensive than what we’re used to but reasonable, good enough offering and quality. It’s worth the visit if you’re in the area and craving some Thai food.
Hm what to say. They have a crazy broad menu. But all the dishes I have had were great. I did get a sweet and sour chicken and got deathly I’ll from good poisoning for a few days. But otherwise I still eat here and enjoy this place a lot. Cashew chicken and sweet ginger basil are great dishes. They took the spring roll from lunch specials which I used to like, but food prices have gotten crazy and they haven’t really raised prices much from what I can see. Great local place. I eat here once or twice a month!
The dinner was delivered 40 minutes late, the soup was wrong (or not as described), everything was completely cold, and the two tofu entrees with one soup was $75.00. Never again.
Good food and not over priced.
This a tiny authentic Thai restaurant. My wife and I were here on a random evening. There were some couples here and 2 - 3 families. But, plenty of tables were available.
Service was a bit slow due to staff shortages (CoVID times). For a tiny Thai "mom-and-pop" restaurant we felt that the prices were a bit high. But when the food arrived, we saw that the helpings were much larger than a typical restaurant, so the prices were indeed justified. Order accordingly.
Both of us are vegetarian. The typical Thai curries (red, green, massaman, etc.) that one finds in all Thai restaurants are all pre-made here and contain fish sauce. But, the proprietor pointed out that we could order any of their entrees vegetarian and it would be completely vegetarian. That's what we did.
The food was incredibly fresh and delicious. Man, that was one satisfying meal.
BTW, this is a BYO -- had we known that we would have brought along a bottle of wine.
I wish I had pictures of the food we had here, but we devoured all of it so quickly that we couldn't get any. Very small restaurant but cozy. Food comes out quick and is incredibly delicious. We came here after trying to get into Katana a few doors down, and I'm so glad we ended up here instead.
Food was good…service ok…!
But during the time that I was dining the server left all the empty tables with duty dishes…that is disgusting….really not acceptable on a restaurant….please clean your tables right away!! Make a nice environment:).!
That is the reason of 3 stars
Flatout the best thai and sushi in town!
Very delicious Thai food! Big portion and very reasonable price.
Ordered 45 mins ago and they said 20 mins. Just got here and still not ready. Very disorganized!
Worst food I have eaten in years. Spent $75 to try a couple dishes and they were all inedible
Cozy little spot next to the beach.
Food is excellent and lunch specials are well priced all with a cozy dining room.
Love love love this place! Their food and service is consistently wonderful! Small restaurant space but they have outdoor seating and they deliver. Lunch is a great deal. I got the Panang Chicken with white rice, which came with an egg roll and soup for $10.95. Every time I eat this dish I can't wait to eat it again! Sooo good!!! I've eaten from Sawaddee many, many times and tried tons of dishes and the food is ALWAYS good and the service is always nice... dinner is a little more expensive but, you just get more of what you love.
The food is great, the service not so much, the young waiter great job, the lady that work there as waiters too, no knowledge of customer service.
Wowww
Delicious & authentic Thai food.
Great Thai food. Loved it.
Great food and staff.
I have tried to order from this place several times, it's always a struggle. The food is good, but the service is a struggle. Bad attitude, not helpful, don't care. If you call to ask about your order, you are treated like a dog. take what you get or get out.
i
It's 4th time that I order here. But I'm very disappointed with my order today. I paid $50 for Special rice and sushi combination without taste. I eat better in Publix.
I'm not going to order anymore here
Amazing food soups and pad thai are amazing not a big sushi guy but the pad Thai is phenomenal, definitely recommend
Not sure how this food is rated this high. It was dry, low quality and overpriced for the portions. Stay away from the sushi also. Very disappointed.
It's just ok but nothing special. The server was not attentive and the uninspired lunch serving was smaller than previous visits. 3 stars
Awesome sushi and fried rice
The best Thai spot in town, It's a down to earth not fancy but service and quality are A1. Great Thai and Sushi
Excellent food and service, they don’t serve alcohol, but you can byob and save some money that way. There is a liquor store very close to the restaurant.
