Delivery Sushi? Are you sure?

Yes, I am!

I’ve only done delivery/DoorDash from Captains Hook’s. No dine in to this point, so I can’t comment on dining service or atmosphere.

I can say I’ve ordered delivery sushi at least six times so far, and I will continue to do so. Granted I’m close by, so the DoorDash turn around time has been in the 30min range, which I find incredible.

This is fairly high quality with nice presentation for sushi in a styrofoam box.

Tuna Empire is my favorite (see pic), the Spicy Tuna Roll is second, followed by Key West, and fried Gyoza. 🥟

Only downside is they are stingy with the soy sauce packs (2/roll) so you might want to have some of your own on hand.

In conclusion, I’m giving the delivery of sushi from Captain Hook’s a ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ rating (must try). When you want it and don’t want to go out, this is a great choice.

We came here on the first day of our stay in Cape Coral, focusing on reviews. What can I say, our experience was wonderful. Service and service at the highest level. Very fast. The food is incredibly delicious! I sincerely recommend this place!
And, yes! We returned there the next day 👌🏼 and will be back again!

Yum!! Everything was delicious and the portions are huge. Highly recommend the Japanese Bagel Tempura! The Bourbon Shrimp was good as well. The pad Thai had a large portion of shrimp.

The chicken satay had the best peanut sauce I’ve ever had, could have used a bucket of it.

We've gone here for birthdays, friends' dinners, and dates. The food and service are always great. We've had sushi, sashimi, pho, specialty rolls and Pad Thai. Their raw fish always tastes fresh. Also. I'm a Pad Thai snob because I've had it on and off for 20 years in cities and I cook it at home regularly. This is better than how I cook it and the best in Lee County in my opinion. This is one of the best casual Asian dining restaurants for sure.

Wow...wow...wow! If I could give 10 stars, I would ✨️ The best and freshest spider roll EVER! Ginger salad with crispy romaine & avocado was cold and wonderful! Finished the meal with Thai basil entree vegetable medley sauteed in a succulent sauce. The kisses of fresh basil burst with flavor! Super nice people serving lovely food in a beautiful place! The sweet hostess told us that we would love it...she was spot on! Thanks!

Great local restaurant with very good sushi and other options

stopped by for lunch on a weekday and got a table right away. I got the spring roll appetizer and sushi lunch, which came with a citrus avocado salad. It was more than enough food and the prices are very fair.

On Thursday, January 16, 2025 I went there with my wife for lunch. The food was fantastic. We had the CHIRASHI MEAL assorted platter of sushi and SKY Rainbow . The service was fast and our server lady TAE.W was very helpful and pleasant from the start to finish. I would highly recommend this place for sushi lovers anytime.Executive Chef Canada Mike Shapiro

Sushi was very tasty. Had the Green Dragon roll. Huge roll! Also ordered the beef Pad See Ew (sp?). Delicious sauce! We also love the Thai fried rice...perfectly spiced at "a notch above mild!"

Don’t do what we did and wait so long to give this place a try… the pho and sushi was incredible and very fresh. The menu has a lot of options at fair prices and Tae was a great server!

If you like sushi, and other oriental foods this is the place. They also have a great give back points toward future meals. Try my favorite The Red Dragon.

Not sure why everyone thinks their food is good? I have been here 3 times, all spaced out by a year or so. Tried to give them the benefit of the doubt, tried different dishes. The flavors are all off. They don't bother seasoning their chicken. It tastes boiled/tasteless which is crazy to me because their prices are on the higher side. Will not return.

Best sushi joint in the Vape that I've tried since moving here 8 months ago. The Cap's sushi is way better than sushi I had at Kumo's. Big rolls. They don't skimp on the amount of food they give you. I am a fan of the Firecracker, the Tuna Empire, and the Japanese Bagel Rolls. Just a heads up there is a Japanese Bagel roll and there is a Japanese Bagel Tempura Roll. The other day they mistakenly gave me the tempura JB roll instead of the regular uncooked JB roll. Prefer my rolls not to be deep fried but hey I can understand the mix up and that's the only , mistake they've made on an order for me in the several months since I became a regular. I eat there several times a week and sometimes multiple times in a single day. So that should tell you what I think about the food. The help are always friendly and welcoming. And while I have never eaten at the restaurant itself (I always do take-out) it's spacious, clean, and it seems to be a place that everyone enjoys coming to. At least that's the impression I get from the many times I have spent waiting for my order and watching the customers who are eating there. Shout-out to my girls and guys who do the take-out orders. Awesome folks. Oh and I almost forgot to mention that Capt's has a rewards program. I believe you receive a single point for each dollar you spend. So when you acquire 250 points you get $25 to spend at the restaurant. Definitely recommend the place. And definitely take care of the to-go folks. Don't be cheap on the tips. No less than $5 bucks ya'll. In today's economy, that, to me, is mandatory. Good kids and they look out for you, so it's a win-win.
Almost forgot to mention...they have thai food as well, amd the one dish I keep getting is excellent. So try the curry chicken (I believe it is called Pa Nang chicken)

Sushi is not my thing. As many times as I've tried, but...I was 1 of 3 and I found some sweet and sour chicken and green peppers that was pretty tasty. Not your usual syrupy, thick goo from a bottle over fried chicken chunks. Very pleased with my meal. As far as the sushi went, everyone that eats it, seemed to enjoy it. Got quite a bit of food for the money. Service was great, server was very attentive, and that was while working the bar and both sides of the room, as we got there at an odd time. Diverse mix of ages of people inside, nice to see...obviously we're older, why we were there earlier. Younger kids (20 something) started showing up after we were there a while. Cool place for gen x's and youngens to find common ground. Even tho I don't like sushi, I'd go back

Absolutely amazing experience - lived in the cape for years and have lived in Boston all my life (Chinatown) n haven’t had a better experience my entire life. Angie, our waitress and the entire staff were super kind, fun and engaging - sushi was fantastic - this will be a weekly stop moving forward, only negative is I didn’t find them sooner….

Don't let the name fool you. Captain Hook's is one of the best Thai/sushi places in Cape Coral.

I loved the service! Friendly staff and clean restrooms! The food was amazing. I would recommend the sushi and the coconut shrimp!

Ordered lunch, it was a nice deal for what you got lots of food. The only downside was I wasn’t told about up charges if you chose one of the choices.

I ordered the tuna crisps as an app, and tried the pho. The tuna was for sure frozen. If you eat raw fish on a regular basis you can always tell by the texture of the fish. Yeah, I know.. all sushi fish is flash frozen to kill bacteria, but this frozen for sure. Didn't send it back because I didn't want to make a scene, but I didn't finish a $20 app because of it.

The pho was ok. I can't really speak to quality because this was the first time I've had it, but my friend that I went with said that there is much better out there. For a $20 soup I was super filled up and probably have another 2 meals worth.

The prices for the rest of the menu were shocking, and to be honest it's the reason I ordered $20 soup lol. $34 for a curry with rice is... offensive. Especially when the lunch order is $16. $26 for a single sushi roll... I'm not even cheap i swear!! But I just can't see myself returning here for the quality and price.

I can't be the only one that feels this way though, because it was pretty empty for a Saturday evening.

I dislike giving anything under 5 stars when the people that serve you are so kind and attentive, but management should probably eat at other places that charge as much as they do to see the quality that is expected for that price. Just my 2 cents.

I tipped well and paid in cash. Would not return.

Update August 2024.
My new favorite dish is the Masiman Curry. It is delicious.
The sushi is still outstanding and our recent visit was on Monday night when with their loyalty program they offer double points.
Many of their wait staff have been there for years. I think that is a great sign of a really good restaurant.

The food was very good and the service was excellent. Tuesday is a great day to visit.

Excellent Pad Thai. Flavorful and a large portion, too. I asked for it to be made spicy and it didn’t disappoint! I also had the spring rolls which were fabulously cooked. Will order again.

I ordered takeout and the experience was stellar from beginning to end. Desmond was friendly and polite taking my order, food was ready within 15 minutes, service was excellent. We ordered Massaman curry and Tom Kha soup with chicken, both were absolutely delicious. The dining room looked welcoming and tranquil. I would not hesitate to dine in or to do take out again.

A hidden gem in Cape Coral. Amazing food with a huge variety from sushi to Thai and other specialties. The staff is wonderful and the service exceptional-Tae was great!! We will be making this a new regular spot for lunch and dinner.

My visit at Captn Hooks was extravagant. The food was a wonderful. The people were hilarious and welcoming. I cannot have asked for a better staff or food to eat. Specifically, the host Dezmin was great!

Great spicy tuna roll!

Pad thai tastes and smells like dirty dish water. The manger wouldn't even smell it when asked because she knew how gross it was. They remade it in the same dirty pan and tried to give it to me again. I will never be back and recommend you avoid at all costs. (From this point on will be my response to your response.): I know I have fair skin and round eyes but I eat pad thai once a week and I frequent Pu Thai in north fort myers. I hope you and your staff enjoy the food poisoning from the dish you served me. I appreciate your willingness to refund me on an inedible dish. Kudos to you. I highly recommend you try some pad thai that isn't made in that kitchen, and maybe you will learn a thing or two. Why did you not come out from the back and have a conversation with me face to face while I was at the restaurant? If you had this much to say. Wash your dishes, homie.

Great value & choices for entrées (& week day lunch specials).

There are a lot of sushi restaurants in Cape/Ft Myers but this one is our favorite.
The staff is always great, sushi is phenomenal and the atmosphere is laid back. No liquor sales, only beer and wine.
They have a great rewards program with double points on Tuesdays so we usually end up with a free $100 meal every couple months.

The Panang curry was delicious. My son and daughter had the Sushi boat for 2 and was enough for 3 or 4.

Generous portions and fair prices. Friendly service. Interesting sake selection. Casual atmosphere. If you haven't been you're missing out.

Great place to get some amazing asian food ! ! The food is Freah, Perfectly seasoned, and all around delicious ! ! Every single staff member are fantastic, but there is one that stands out above them all "Angie" , She is on top of it all, I have never had such a fantastic server, Not once did we have to ask for our drinks to be refilled by her, and she was so polite and kind, she is what Every server should strive to be... My wife and I hope her boss reads this and looks to giving her a raise and a huge promotion.

Food is always on point here and some of the best sushi I ever had. The Tuna Empire roll is amazing. However, their waitres Gio provides absolutely horrible service. She has zero customer service skills, and is full of attitude. This is the 3rd time she has waited on us and it is a shame that someone like this has to ruin the experience for my wife and I all 3 times. No issues with any other waitress. Things can go wrong and it happens, but when you say something is wrong with your food, and your waitress laughs at you, then doesnt correct it, and you have to ask another waitress to help 15 minutes later, because Gio didn't bother to ever come back to our table, you have to say something. My wife got her food finally when i was almost done with my meal. The food is awesome but avoid the waitres Gio, ask for anyone else and you will have an awesome experience. Food is 5 stars waitres Gio is 0 stars for a 2 star rating. Unfortunately we will likely never come back here. The one thing that has stuck with me is that after all this terrible service and my wife getting her food as I finished mine, they still expected me to pay for her food. I see this is a constant practice with this restaurant from reading other reviews. We used to always go to Yellowfin Sushi on Cape Coral pkwy. Never had an issue with them for years and they treat us nicely every single time regardless of who our waiters are. We will be going back there instead to avoid the horrible service we get here if we get the wrong waiter. The sad part is that this horrible waitress Gio is the head waiter. You read that correctly. She is the one in charge of the wait staff who seem to be afraid of her. Just sad because the food is awesome.

So I’m 6'7" 315lbs bigger than most and portions are a big deal to me. This place is big guy approved. The tuna empire roll was so big my girl couldn’t fit a whole piece in her mouth. The crispy duck was amazeballz, the drunken noodles with beef were great. the chicken skewers with sauce were yummy. Not sure how I was able to eat the fried cheese cake…to top it off we got in right before close and they served us. Angie is the sweetest waitress ever. cant wait to go back

Great food and selection. Lots of sushi, sashimi and other Asian food options. Very broad selection. We had sushi that were large servings, great presentation and fresh/flavorful. Obviously high grade meat. Very nice atmosphere as we were pleasantly surprised for being in strip mall. Tuesday nights has drink specials and double reward points! Our server and staff were very informative, friendly, and attentive to their jobs. We were quite impressed and will be back soon.

My wife daughter and a friend ate here the other night for the first time and I was actually disappointed because of all the great reviews. First this is one of the most expensive places for sushi in Cape Coral and we have been to at least 3 different sushi spots in the area over the years we have been vacationing here. My biggest complaint was all my sushi and sashimi was watery like it was sitting in water before it was served to me....and I have never experienced this before and it really bothered me and changed the texture and even the flavor of the sushi. I also ordered some saba/ mackerel as sushi and it came as sashimi this was not watery and it was good but I did want it as nigiri and sashimi. Our waitress was friendly and nice atmosphere was average. The rolls that the rest of my family got were good and very large. I would be hesitant to go back though and get sashimi or nigiri.

Sushi is just massive chunks, little care. Gyoza blanned, and sauce was bitter vinegar like. The miso soup was good, surprisingly well made.

Such a great Thai and sushi spot! The food is delicious and the service is quick, efficient and friendly. The restaurant is clean and has a welcoming atmosphere. We had pad Thai and three different roles and everything was fresh and delicious. Will definitely return again. Highly recommended.

I visit Cape Coral once a year and the dining scene leaves much to be desired, except for Captain Hooks! The sashimi dinner was huge and fresh and our waitress, an asian girl who some call Speedy Gonzales was outstanding. Have had the Pho and Thai dishes in the past that were great too.

Traveling locally, went to Lunch on Monday, ask for best item on Thai Menu for take out, they suggest chicken fried rice w pineapple, 1st they charged for dinner portion (did not offer lunch special), 2nd this was a poor excuse for Thai chicken friend rice - No Flavor it was sautéed chicken, oily, rice w a little onion & soy sauce w pineapple….no fish sauce, lime or chilly paste- it wasn’t Thai at all, went there on Google rating but ordered the wrong dish. Forgettable

If your not eating sushi or pho don’t waste your money. $9 for 3 barely stuffed spring rolls, $6 side fried rice with very small portion and it was rice with scrambled eggs no veggies no meat literally nothing. The food overall was very bland, worst $75 we’ve ever spent on food for only 2 entrees, 3 spring rolls and a side of “fried rice”, EXTREMELY overpriced.

UPDATE: (Raising the rating from 4 stars to 5) We went back. The curry is possibly the best I have had. It does take a little while for the food to come out, but it was definitely faster this time, and worth it.

Our server was nice, but service was very slow.
My husband likes very spicy curry, but I prefer mine mild. Unfortunately, the kitchen mixed up our orders and my first bite of curry was a kick in the mouth. We didn't want to wait another 40 minutes for our order to be corrected, so I ate my husband's meal, and he ate mine. It wasn't a great first impression.

BEST THAI FOOD OUTSIDE IF THAILAND! The food here is so good I haven’t had anything like it since I’ve been to Thailand. The only critique is if you order for pickup it takes about double the time it says it will for them to make it

Food was delicious, best Thai I have had in two years

I ordered the seafood Pad Thai and it was just downright mediocre. First of all, no chopped peanuts or bean sprouts to be found anywhere. Just noodles coated in sauce (sauce was fine I guess but nothing to write home about). The seafood? A lobster tail, some mussels, some shrimp and some scallops. Now, this *should* sound good, but the seafood had zero, and I mean ZERO seasoning on them. It was literally like boiled lobster, scallops, and shrimp that they have pre-cooked (and again, no seasoning) and just plopped on the noodles at the end. It was so bland and boring. For the price, it's almost comical. The Tom Kha soup was pretty good so that's that. Can't speak for the other items on the menu but this experience alone makes me not want to order from here ever again. Very disappointing.

The pho was also very good. As a self proclaimed pho expert. This pho is exceptional if you are looking for a light broth with nothing fancy beyond a choice of protein. The portions were good and you could tell the batch was fresh. Solid 8.5 out of 10.
We also learned about the loyalty point program that is also a perk to keep us coming back. Mon, Tue double point days!

Enjoy for the best mexican food in town

Fantastic Thai and Sushi food. We have eaten at many local Thai and Sushib restaurants on the Cape and in Fort Myers. This place stands head above the rest. You won't be disappointed. Get out of your comfort zone and try them out.

Key West and Bourbon Rolls were great. Pork dumpling appetizer was good too. Nice atmosphere and excellent service. Recommended!

So a Co worker and I ate for dinner and ordered the boat for 2 and it was an absolute artwork and delivered cious and the service was overtop notch excellent service just an overall pretty great place definitely suggest the boat if ya have an appetite and some sake
