I don’t usually like to give bad stars nor bad reviews but unfortunately People need to know. First of all to the plaza owner parking needs major improvement for the higher traffic capacity nowadays. people find themselves driving up to 15 minutes for a parking spot! We came to this Hibachi steakhouse for the first time since my young adults seem to order through Uber eats or dashboard I figured let’s try it out in person. Customer service was excellent thank you for that my kids decided on a boat specifically ask what exactly can b order that’s included on a boat price I was told by the service pretty much any roll so of course when ahead n order. When we got the bill it was way over $300 for a boat for 2 thinking at first it wouldn’t be more than $150 not $300. I was surprised and wanted an explanation long story short please be careful when making certain orders prices seem to change at end of service at this establishment. I was hoping to leave happy and satisfied later I read other reviews and I guess I wasn’t the only victim overcharged. Please improve and be more specific to customers on price and don’t change it at the end. Other than that everything was good except 3 of the rolls they were mushy and super saggy fish was cut to thin. Drinks were amazing and the coconut soup was tasty.
Reservation time not adhered to. Waited 20 plus minutes just for a server to take our drink order once seated. The Hibachi chef took more than one hour to start preparing our meal. Mai Tai drink is not very good, and at other establishments, we would get a soup and salad. Only one was offered. Also, other establishments would give a scoop of ice cream. This wasn't offered either. The staff works hard, but poor management dominates, and the value is missing.
Food was good and portions large. However, their prices have gone way up and what you get has been reduced. Choice of soup OR salad. Appetizer shrimp dropped. Fried rice adds $4. (Rice with an egg added).
Worst service ever. Made reservation for 7 PM, showed up on time and it was clear. They had completely overbooked multiple tables. Lots of people with reservations waiting 45 minutes to an hour. Avoid this place lots of other hibachi sushi places with much better service.
Food was good. Atmosphere was good and important to note, our family was able to hear one another without yelling or straining.
But what I appreciated the most was the service. Everyone in my party noticed how friendly and helpful the waitresses were. They provided just the right amount of attention, and had smiles and a very friendly manner that made our dinner extra enjoyable.
There are plenty of local options for sushi, but we'll go back to Sawa.

10% discount if you pay cash. Some Hibachi chefs are better then others.

Way better than Saito’s

Love the food
Our go-to sushi restaurant twice a month like clockwork.
I go to Sawa for the food but I enjoy the service just as much. In our fast paced world of today this is a nice restaurant and atmosphere to take in all because of the wonderful staff working there and the great ownership. I love this place and would recommend it to anyone to try ...
There is a wide variety of excellent choices, including Japanese, Chinese, and Thai cuisine. I highly recommend this place.
I recently had a problem but Jessie reached out to me personally and did the right thing. That meant a lot to me. The sushi was great, and the follow-up is awesome. Thank you, Jessie!
Sawa reached out and fixed all complaints that we had. I can now suggest to anyone that might be interested in doing so to go check them out for a great dining experience. Thank you
I have had the pleasure of dining at Sawa Hibachi Steakhouse and Sushi Bar for at least 10 years. There is a good reason for this: I enjoy the food and the service. And ever since they revamped the restaurant décor a few years back, it has become an elegant, yet casual, destination to enjoy Hibachi, Sushi and kitchen delectables. They also boast a decent wine, beer and sake selection, as well as a full liquor bar.
From among Sawa’s extensive appetizer selection, my favorites are the meaty Hamachi Kama collar bone and the Japanese-style chicken wings, along with the pork gyoza. I also love the Kani Su cucumber roll and the Yellowtail Jalapeño sushi appetizers, flavored with Ponzu sauce.
Speaking of sushi, their sushi servings are very fresh and generous. Their rolls are artfully colorful and satisfying. While the sushi bar menu focuses on the usual, most-popular fish and seafood offerings, occasionally they will serve somewhat exotic items like toro, or sweet shrimp with the heads deep-fried to golden crispiness, as well as the best and freshest Uni sea urchin I have ever tasted.
Because I have been frequenting Sawa Hibachi Steakhouse and Sushi Bar for such a long time, I could name my favorite dishes from every category- from the Hibachi table to the noodle dishes and Thai offerings- they’re all good. But suffice it to say that with their high-quality menu selections and their warm and friendly service, Sawa Hibachi Steakhouse and Sushi Bar still remains my most favorite destination for sushi and Japanese cuisine.
Food is prefect. Service is nice.
Me and my friend went to sawa hibachi couple nights ago and we have amazing time the food is was very good we have sushi and some of our friend have hibachi and we all love it fast server will definitely recommend and we will return again
Just found this location today. Service was wonderful, I ordered Orange Dragon Roll and Sawa Wasabi roll, fish was so fresh. Hibachi chef was so Fun and well skilled.
Definitely 5 star
The place was literary empty with two waitresses that were terribly busy talking by the door, no interest in the 4 customers that were inside the restaurant… first and last time here…food was ok, you could not talk to the chef behind the counter, had I pods on… oh well… live and learn!
The Singapore noodles are really pricey but it’s delicious and worth the price because you get a lot of food. 😊 they have good sushi too and boba too. Almost everything sushi hibachi, noodles, boba tea, desert etc.
Best Hibachi and Thai in Palm Beach county
The meal was very expensive the service wasn’t great and the food was average. $70 for Asian food was too much with $5 Arnold Palmer Iced Tea and no refills. No thanks, will not go back.
Please do not go here if you are looking for a nice hibachi experience to take your family or loved ones too.
The hibachi here was some of the worst hibachi I have ever had in my life. I hate to write negative reviews but after spending nearly $120 on two people I am inclined to give my brutally honest opinion.
The coconut soup they brought out smelled like something was rotting which we were unable to eat.
The hibachi cook seemed like he definitely did not want to be there and rushed through everything he was cooking from the vegetables to the rice to the chicken. All of the food was on our plates in less than 10 minutes and he immediately began scrubbing the stove to get out of there. The chicken was not edible and seriously undercooked.
We had to ask for the chicken to be cooked longer and even after that it was still undercooked and not edible.
They charge $30 per person for a hibachi meal which is understandable as you typically are paying for the experience as well but with both inedible food and rushed service there should be no reason for that type of price.
They also automatically add / charge you for the gratituity of their choosing which takes away your ability to tip based on service.
Complete false advertisement for “deals” they offer- but when it comes to paying for it at the end, no deal is ever accredited. & forget trying to talk to the employees, they could careless if a customer is upset. You will never catch me spending my money here EVER again.
Usually not a fan if hibachi but liked this one. Lots of fun. Good food
Always a good option 😀
I've been going to Sawa for almost 12 years,
Food and service are always great!!!
This has been our place for sushi and sometimes hibachi for nearly a decade. About 10 years ago, they weren't our favorite but about 5-6 years ago their fish got better with good size. Now, with neatly 10 years of weekly ordering, I can attest that their consistency, AND quality of fish can't be beat or even compared to by anyone in the area. We do try other places occasionally, but honestly, nobody compares. Great family run restaurant, best in class.
Food is okay... Nothing bad just not great
Great good , great service. Love this place
Very fun and delicious. Seats are extremely comfortable. Beautiful atmosphere.
Wide selection of Thai, Japanese, sushi & hibachi
Everything was fresh & delicious
It was delicious and fun, and everyone was helpful and kind. Their lobster 🦞 roll was delicious, sweet, and so tender. We'll be trying the steak next. We also had the crispy duck.
Nice experience..
Authentic cuisine.
Friendly staff.
If you like fresh sushi this is the place to go Service great, owner very nice, try it you won't be disappointed😎
First of all the prices for the hibachi are out of control. Cost me $160 for two adults and a 3 year-old. I’ve never paid prices like that ever for hibachi. Second of all they charge four dollars extra for fried rice. what a rip off. They include the gratuity, which is insane. The hibachi chef gave no free sake didn’t put on any performance at all. This place is a major rip off.
Absolutely, horrible. The service is very unprofessional. They only serve GMO (Genetically Modified Organism) farm raised salmon and shrimp. The silverware is one step up from a plastic fork. Their servers are absolutely scary!
Also be warned there is NO cell phone service and not even WiFi at SAWA and when you ask them for wifi password, they say we've never had Wi-Fi since we opened 13 years ago! And they smile like they're proud of it. No wonder this place is he slowest restaurunt in this busy shopping center.
Love this place great food and awesome service.
Hibachi is amazing! The chefs are always great performers.
And the splendid roll really lives up to its name
Drunken noodles were the best. Loved it.
To expensive for the price in comparison to another sushi restaurants like Ganzo Sushi Restaurant in Delray Beach where you paid the 25% less for better quality.
Nice atmosphere. Very welcoming and friendly staff and the food was great too. Sushi was very good as well and the drinks were nice and strong. Highly recommend
Food was delicious and the entertainment cooking a pleasure
That is what I call hibachi place.
Everything was perfect, excellent attentive service, the hibachi was amazing, first time I had it with noodles. 20/5
Food & service were very good. A little pricey for folks who are retired
Just ok
Excellent
First time. Will return. Our hibachi chef was great and entertaining.
Made me sick going on my 2nd day
Incredibly disappointing service
Server had attitude since the moment I entered, food wasn't good at all
Average food, average service. Outrageous pricing. RIDICULOUS $$, They will not be in business long. I was the only customer, at a normally busy Saturday lunch time. Mimosa Cafe next door was packed.
Had a Fantastic birthday celebration!
Our host was awesome to talk with. I wish I could remember her name. She was super funny. Food here is VERY mediocre. Nothing delicious to brag about or to come back to. Just keeping it real. You’re better off at Saitos Japanese steakhouse for a better flavored meal. To me everything just tasted same. I’m not hard to please at all. I just ask for a good meal. I couldn’t recommend anyone going here, sorry.
Great place. Great atmosphere. I love this place, the best spot for hibachi
This is my first time visiting this restaurant, and I enjoyed the food. The atmosphere was accommodating. You can choose between dining in the hibachi section or a regular dining table. I decided to eat in the hibachi section.
Upon sitting, I had a habit of checking my utensils and plates, and I was displeased to notice that the dishes were dirty. Every one of the dishes at the table was dirty. I called the waitress, and she changed the plates. That left a bad image in my head. Presentation is everything, making me wonder what else was not clean. Other than that my friend and I had a good time.
Never going to another hibachi spote ever again . This is 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Very good place delicious food
Fun place to eat. Great food and entertainment.
Very secluded, quaint, and romantic atmosphere.
Love this place. Great food, good service, great prices
I love this place! My family loved this place! The food is always amazing! The atmosphere is bland the staff is very friendly
Alex was funny, skillful and very entertaining.
Good meal good service drinks were a little too sweet
Sawa is a favorite for us! Food is always delicious and fresh, and the manager and employees have known us for so long that we are always welcomed so warmly. The restaurant is beautiful and cozy on one side with booths or tables and hibachi land on the other.
The food has not ONCE been anything but yummy, fresh, and sitting for hibachi is always a great time. Sadly, I lost my mother recently, and after her funeral yesterday, my aunt, cousins, sister, and brother in law all came in for hibachi. ALEX is by FAR the BEST hibachi chef. I needed to genuinely FEEL lost in the experience to hold all of my emotions inside and he not only didn't fail at doing that for me, but he had our whole party hysterical laughing, smiling, and enjoying all the "yummy" food 😅 You'll understand the humor behind "So Yummmyyy" once you go in to the restaurant for hibachi and request for ALEX to be the chef assigned to your table. Trust me, on the worst day of my life, he managed to entertain me and also delivered such perfectly cooked food! "Soooo yummy!" Fiona was our main waitress, and she was efficient, friendly, and very accommodating. I'm going to include some pictures and whatnot from dinner yesterday.
Understand, I do NOT make up fake reviews or embellish how great a place is. I give completely HONEST reviews, and this is a spot that is well worth going out of your way to come and enjoy a meal. While I know there are other Sawa's out there, this particular one is one that my mother and I had been eating at or getting take out from for so many years now. Go on in, tell them the local guide Nicole with the red hair from Google reviews sent you in. There's nothing in it for me beyond seeing more people and families fill up this restaurant. They work immensely hard, and they deserve to have their whole place filled on any given night, which does happen from time to time. If you're not a sushi lover, they have many other dishes to order as well as hibachi. I'd love to know how many people find this review in particular helpful and if you do make it in, I'd love to get a thumbs up after you have your own wonderful experience at Sawa in Boynton Beach, off of Jog and Woolbight, in the plaza with Walgreens, Publix, JFK Emergency, and other restaurants.
Whenever we have gone here we have found the sushi to excellent, not much rice and a lot of fish. That's exactly the way good sushi should be served up. We get the same thing every time so haven't really explored the menu but we are always happy with our sushi rolls and gyoza. The only part we wish was nicer was the atmosphere which is dated and overall the restaurant feels like it needs light and freshening.
Food is very good! I normally order delivery a lot but I’ve never had an issue. I love the variety
first time here. it was mothers day, nothing special for the holiday but there sushi was so tender in melted in your mouth, my only issues was the pieces were too big and the tuna too thick although it was good. for mothers day we got seated right away. we also had reservation which helped
Excellent food and drink!
Great service and the food was outstanding, definitely a must try!!
Best best best. You have to go to NYC to beat this one.
Shout out!Happy 41st bday. I wish all d best for you.
Amazing Japanese food.
Good sushi!!
Not entitled to even one star. Was a regular but last visit I ordered Tempura shrimp. They were not fried in panko but I couldn’t understand why I didn’t taste the shrimp. Opened one up and what was inside looked more like the size of a white worm and it sungly fit between two prongs of my fork. Won’t chance to find out what else they’re up to in effort to rip off customers, 25 bucks for a dish of fried breadcrumbs? Never again!
Visiting Florida for the weekend and we were looking for some good sushi. Sawa had high ratings so we figured we give it a go! We pulled up and it was so busy!! (always a good sign) The team was kind and professional as they were running around, taking care of everyone. I was impressed at how they handled the heavy flow of patrons. We waited just a beat for our carry out order. The sushi was amazing. Don’t skip out on the spicy edamame, it was to die for. The Mexican roll and the Mount Fuji were amazing and worth the try. They had a good combo deal for three rolls with different options which was super accommodating and worked out well for the crew we had ordering who is a little shy and unsure on the sushi front. Long story short, super impressed, super delicious!
Love the sushi pizza.
Always a great place!
It was a very clean restaurant with wonderful service however the guy really didn't do any tricks for the hibachi food which would have been nice. You have that big entertainment area and he basically just cooked without talking or chopping up and throwing things around tossing it for fun making jokes like we've seen in other places. It was a little on the high end cost-wise but the you did get a lot of food. More expensive than the usual places I go to in North Carolina but okay.
Food was good, cocktails are definitely not there especially.
BUT the hibachi show was terrible, the chef didn’t do anything, not like a professional hibachi chef, enjoyable, and fun with the party. he did nothing but set up a fire that he never aware us and we almost got out faces burnt up! I can say he was kind of rude
I’ll not recommend this restaurant if you are going for “hibachi experience”.
always terrific
Second time here. Food is ok. Service ok. Very noisy. Entertaining, but very pricey for what you get.
A little overpriced for such an average place
Delicious
Quality was excellent. Great Service.
Excellent food! We'll be back!
Good food good service will come back
This has been our go to place for celebrating graduations and birthdays. Food is always great and the hibatchi is very entertaining.
This is a neighborhood sushi restaurant. Always very good.
Not impressed, especially for what we paid. We ate at the hibachi table. Our chef was not personable and did not perform at all!!! Very disappointed in that. The performance is supposed to be part of that experience.
One of our group realized that some paid extra for fried rice versus steamed rice and yet there was hardly any difference.
The food was average.
Overall, not worth it. We will go elsewhere. Please get chefs that are enthusiastic!
The food is ok. A little cold but wasn’t bad. Our server who was absolutely rude though. Small Asian lady with a mask on. Very rude with horrible customer service and didn’t even want to take us. We spent over $400 there and gratuity was added. I wish it wasn’t because I wouldn’t give her a dime. Fire her please. We went 1/1/2023 at night.
Wonderful staff and excellent food! This place has become a tradition for my family.
Good food!
Love the food love the staff and especially love my waitress Sam :-)
Muy rica la comida. Excelente lugar. Muy amable el personal.
UPDATE: Absolutely no improvement. If anything it was worse. What used to be $18.95 for a not-so-good meal is now $33.95 for a lousy one!!!!
+++++++++++++++++++++
I used to like the hibachi here, but I find the quality of food has gone down considerably. The soup was watery and rather tasteless, as were the noodles. The salad was horrible -- iceberg lettuce with a blob of bitter dressing. It was less than desirable. The white rice was fine. The steak, done rare, was quite tastey. The jasmine tea didn't have jasmine flavor. I don't think this is a good place to eat as it once was. The hibachi chef did the same old routine and seemed bored.
Very good lunch menu bento box. Sashimi pieces were the largest I ever had in a bento. Tasted very fresh.
Food is way overpriced like Lettuce Wraps for 21 and hot/sour soup for 10
THEY ADD 20% GRATUITY!!! party of 4
Cash discount is now 10%, not 15%, and the whole party has to pay in cash
My last visit
Сподобалось, атмосферне і затишне місце.
Very friendly, portions were huge, impossible to finish. Food was fresh and well seasoned. The scallops were amazing!
The hibachi chef was terrible. He couldn't keep the orders straight. Overcooked and undercooked the food. Overall, a very poor dining experience.
I was rather disappointed in the portion sizes. The soup bowl was barely half full, the salad had just enough lettuce to cover the bottom of the bowl and the noodles were a very small portion. I saw the pile of noodles that the chef put on the grill and looked at my wife and said that is supposed to be enough noodles for everyone at the table. It is bad enough that you need to spend an additional $3.95 for fried rice. They have also stopped adding garlic on it’s own. it is now infused in the butter…just not the same.
I was here yesterday. Service was garbage, the food was terrible and the owner is a miserable person who will harass you and attempted to steal my credit card information. I will be contacting the BBB
This is my favourite teppanyaki in the area, and it's so much better than Saito's! The food is great quality and flavourful, and the service is always excellent. We will drive here from Royal Palm Beach whenever we have a craving for hibachi.
Our favorite hibachi restaurant! Once again we had a delicious dinner. They have great flavor and large portions for the price. We always leave here full with plenty of leftovers and very satisfied. The service is great and it is always clean!
The food was so delicious the flavors were excellent and fresh. This is our favorite hibachi restaurant in Florida
**update**
They’ve increased their prices roughly 28% in the span of a year. Thats ridiculous and you can’t blame it in inflation - this is just pure greed. The food is still great, but not great enough to justify their increase.
——
Food is great and sushi is among the better in the area. They are slower than snails though when it comes to delivery, even on weekdays. It shouldn't take over an hour on a Tuesday to deliver food - this is a consistent issue. Response when checking on the order is always "he just left". You're better off dining in or picking it up.
Tried this place for the first time recently and loved it. I usually leave hibachi with left overs but not this time. Hot chile oil was great too. Definitely will go again.
A nice place to eat with family and friends
Scott was amazing! We have been here many times, its always great, but this time with Scott it was even better! What an entertainer!!!!
Great food
Hibachi is over priced and mediocre.
Excellent
Fantastic experience top to bottom, great food, great chef and very nice staff. This is my new go to restaurant everything was delicious.
We were, is the key word, a 9 year customer. We were seated at the hibachi with a family of 4 they were irritated because they already waited 20 minutes for someone to cook. The assortment of food that was ordered was barely edible and the chef had the audacity to throw a $5 tip that I given him in my face .Even though our guest was complaining about everything and the birthday party that was seated next to us(in an empty restaurant). Between the crying kids and our guest acting out I paid the check and left no tip because I was afraid to have it thrown back at me. Patronize at your own risk. BTW all new chefs....hint hint.
best chicken and broccoli stir fry i’ve ever had. i love this place, anyone who doesn’t rate five stars is lying to themselves. thank you sawa <3
It’s definitely delicious and fresh!
We paid $43.95 for steak and mahi.. We were told at first they could not do this. After we ask to speak with a manager they said no problem. Food was great as well as the chef was great. We have had this several times and never had a problem. Never paid this much.
Overpriced in my opinion. I ordered the Japanese lo mein with chicken. It was mostly noodles with very little chicke. I had iced tea but it had an odd taste. Service was good.
Great Food. I've done their hibachi a few times and have eaten on their regular restaurant side a few times. I have always gotten great service and the food has always been on point.
Great food. Won’t disappoint. Highly recommend. Very friendly staff

Enjoyed a Birthday celebrations . Staff was very engaged and made the night special
Great food great people, Tommy was the best hibachi chef ever
Food was delicious.
Awesome chefs! They are all great entertainers!
Had the teppanyani (sometimes called hibatchi) grill. Food was very good. Our chef was a little subdued, but overall, a very nice experience.
We had Scott as our Hibachi server on mother's day and he was amazing! Everything was cooked perfectly and tasted fantastic. I would give Scott 10 stars if I could, he made the dinner/show part of the hibachi experience the best me and my family have ever had.
Out of all the places for hibachi ive been to this one is the best. Our chef , scott i think, entertained us and made us laugh and the food was excellent. I would highly recommend this hibachi
