Thai And Time Again is a locally owned and operated restaurant located in the heart of Washington, DC, offering a wide variety of delicious dishes to suit every taste. Our menu features Thai cuisine, all made with the freshest ingredients and prepared with care by our talented team of chefs.
Absolutely excellent!
Kevin was our server and is also the owner. He is very patient, enthusiastic, kind and helpful with people who are not familiar with Thai food. I've had Thai and many different places across the country and this is my absolute favorite. Any dish you order will be made to perfection, especially the Mango Sticky Rice! The price is also extremely fair.
Whenever family comes to town I will take them here every time!
We dined here for lunch while staying at the Omni Shoreham— loved that it was walking distance and open on a quiet Sunday afternoon! My husband and I shared the crab Rangoon, the kanom jeep, and tom yum chicken. Everything was delicious and fresh. The crab rangoon were the best I’ve ever had- a light flaky shell and freshly-made filling— each bite was heaven. The decor felt authentic & I loved the “hole in the wall” vibe. The TV was a little loud, but the server immediately noticed and turned it down. Glad we found this spot!
Thai and Time Again offered up some very delicious food for our hungry bellies! Located in the basement of a building the venue has a fun vibe and has a good number of people when we went. After we sat down I noticed another couple complaining about the wait time and got concerned. It did take our server a little bit to get to our table but after that things went smoothly. We were very pleased with the food. I ordered the pineapple fried rice and my companion ordered a spicy grilled chicken dish. We both enjoyed our food - my pineapple fried rice dish had yellow curry in the rice and was just so yummy while the grilled chicken dish has flavorful chicken and a super spicy side of veggies. All-in-all it was a great meal.
Friday night and we wanted to go somewhere we could walk to from the hotel, and that would be great food without the crowds. This little spot was exactly what we were hoping for. We loved the Pad See Eew and Bangkok Soft Shell Crab. Oh, and we just had to try the Mango Sticky Rice for dessert. Delicious! Great spot with awesome service when you want that taste of Thailand.
So good that we went back for lunch the next day.
Loved the Gai Sub Noodles! Never seen that dish at any other Thai restaurant so I decided to try it and was very pleasantly surprised. I loved the way the chicken was cooked and the smokey flavor. Very unique
10/10 would recommend. I have been coming here weekly for the past 3 months now and the food and service is always great. I love the intimate setting of the location and appreciate how staff takes their time to get to know their regulars. The food is very authentic, and prices are great. Please give them a try, you will not be disappointed.
Hi, Im the girlfriend. My boyfriend and I went to the zoo, and he wanted to take me out and eat. Im a very picky eater and never tried Thai food, but he wanted us to go to this beautiful location. At first, I was skeptical but we went along. Let me tell you, the food was indeed BUSSIN, I love it so much, that I forced him to take me :):) The food is excellent, and the sticky mango rice is incredible.
My girlfriend and I went to the Smithsonian Zoo Lights and wanted to have dinner nearby. We decided to try something new that day and stumbled across this wonderful eatery. She was skeptical as she is a little picky, but we gave it a try. And boy! were we pleasantly surprised. The food was BUSSIN and the service was amazing! The atmosphere is cozy and homey. We stop by from thai to time:) I'm so thankful that my girlfriend now loves thai food and we can't get enough of this place! The mango sticky rice is amazing btw but don't order it cuz I want all of it.
Food was excellent but post dinner candy was divine. Service was tip top!
“I’m giving this restaurant 4 stars because the staff was very friendly, and the food was good. However, there were a few issues that stood out. When we walked in, there was a noticeable odor, though someone did address it promptly. The entrance had a lot of leaves and debris, which gave a messy first impression. Additionally, the bathroom smelled unpleasant, and the plates were cold, which impacted the dining experience. While the food was tasty, it wasn’t exceptional, and one of our dishes, the shrimp fried rice, didn’t arrive. Another note: the restaurant is listed as ‘closed’ on Yelp, which could confuse potential customers.
Despite these concerns, the staff’s friendliness and attentiveness made up for a lot, which is why I’m giving 4 stars. I hope they address these minor issues, as this place has great potential!”

Excelente 👌
Dine in for lunch. The food was great! Good price, and extremely quick. The atmosphere of the restaurant isn’t glamorous, though I’ve never felt that atmosphere is terribly important when it comes to a good meal. The food is the experience, and it was very tasty. I would’ve liked it a little spicier personally.
They will call the police on you if you tell them they messed up your order
Wow wow wow. 10|10 the food was amazing I had the crab, spring rolls and drunken noodle everything was cooked to perfection and healthy portions at fair prices. I’m impressed
I went in and ordered to go, a very simple request with two items. They took over 20 minutes to prepare the food (I was one of two customers), when I came back home, I opened the bag and they had not placed one of the items. I called back to see if I could pick up the item or see if they could do a refund, and they hung up on me.
I've been coming to this place for years, and each time the service has declined, in addition to the quality of the food.
Had dinner at this place with friends on Oct 29th. Good food, good service and decent atmosphere. Enjoyed my Tofu soup and Kra pow tofu thorughly.
Nice no-frills Thai spot!! We tried the green and pumpkin curries—both were delicious and fair priced! Will be back :)
If you’re in search of authentic Thai cuisine, look no further than this hidden gem. Tucked away like a best-kept secret, this unassuming spot delivers food that is as delicious as its artful presentation. Each dish is meticulously crafted by the talented Thai chef/owner, whose passion for authentic flavors shines through every bite. The flavor reminded me of homemade food in Thailand.
The service is impeccable, adding to the experience, with the server/bartender who made as feel like valued guests in a cozy, bright and cheerful space. In a neighborhood increasingly filled with gentrified spots, this place is a refreshing reminder of what real, freshly made food should be. I wish I lived here just for the opportunity to dine at this incredible restaurant more often!
10/10 experience - ordered pick-up and all the food was delicious and obviously made with care. When I went inside the restaurant it looked clean and classy, while the staff were extremely polite and welcoming
The food was BUSSIN. We all got lunch items and loved it.

Yeah you can just go here if you’re between this and Donsak when in Woodley Park.
Absolutely excellent!

Whenever family comes to town I will take them here every time!
Update: I went back for Pad Thai and it was so good that I went back the next day to order it again. I also had the mango sticky rice which was also delicious.
They serve breakfast! I've had breakfast here twice now, had a breakfast sandwich, and a breakfast burrito. Both were delicious and came out quickly and price was affordable. It's also very pleasant inside so the second time I ate there instead of taking it to go. Can't wait to try the thai food!
Stopped in for a quick lunch alone while here for a chess tournament at Omni Hotel. It's a small and cozy place. Despite their lunch special also being available on a Saturday, I opted for the soft shell crab Bangkok style. It was served in a wonderfully rich sauce with vegetables. The papaya salad appetizer was very good too, spicy as advertised.
Delicious Thai food! The best I have ever had! The owners are really friendly as well. Would come back to DC just to eat here and it is perfect for lunch before going to the zoo!
All food was excellent and service was great!
Amaaaaazing food. First time trying mango sticky rice and it's top tier. Definitely one of my new favorite desserts.
Great food! So happy to find decent priced good Thai food on a trip to DC. Only issue was when picking up Door dash order, didn't originally get everything ordered and had to go back.
Google needs half stars. 4.5 stars. We got the soft shell crab and papaya salad to go last night. Soft Shell crab 🦀 was amazing. Papaya salad wasn't spicy enough and needed more flavor but not too bad.
The food is reasonably priced but doesn’t seem to be anything special. The cashew chicken was good, but the Pad Thai lacked flavor. Our server was nice, however there were two different miscommunication issues between our server and the kitchen during our meal. One meal ended up not even being cooked at all and the other had an error that was supposed to re-cooked and when it was redelivered the error remained. When the missed meal was finally delivered the other guests at the table were already finished eating. There was one other table in the restaurant when we were there so it didn’t make sense why there were issues.
Truly delightful food and a sublime dine-in experience. 10/10 would recommend!
Loved it! Food is delicious, and service is the best. We will definitely return.
Everything tastes wonderful!
In my experience this is the only good Thai restaurant in DC.
I ordered takeout and food was just ok. Papaya salad was very spicy and chicken pad thai was bland, with large portions of the container with just noodles. It looked like sauceless pasta. Not my favorite.
Cute little place. Food is great and service was good. Try the banana rolls! I'd come here again!
Lovely family owned spot. Food was fresh and delicious!!! The place was nearly empty for some reason. Go here.
Pretty good panang curry! It was just a little runny.
This place is a gem. Period. The kindest of servers, authentic, warm, and enthusiastic. AND the food is fabulous. The first time I ate here, I’d have rated my meal a 20 on a scale of 1/10. Great. Yesterday for my 70 birthday, thanks to the generosity of friends, I/we ate here again. My dish was off the charts delicious. Pineapple chicken. There was such a volume of scrumptiousness, I could have taken some home. But I joyfully ate it all. It’s the next morning now, and I’m still full AND rested. Don’t even feel old thanks to this food… On a scale of 1/10, last night’s meal? 350 and counting…
Thank you. You all owe it to yourself to visit soon. Dan Christian
The portions are hefty and the people are cute as hell
I ordered the Larb Gai Krob and it was some of the most flavorful fried chicken I've ever had. The location was cozy and easy to find, and the service was very quick.
Super friendly staff and food are good as well.
amazing food, great service, wonderful cozy atmosphere!
Fresh ingredients, genuine food and served up with great love and care! All dishes we had were nothing short of excellent! The service was absolutely friendly and the meals are very reasonably priced! Also while it has all the Thai favorites there are some very unique dishes to try. When you couple that with the feeling that you are right at home based on the ambiance, you cannot really ask for more. Been here 3 times already. One other interesting fact is that they have a small breakfast menu that serves up some sandwiches, coffee, etc and open at 7 am on weekdays. Really enjoyed just being there in the mornings as well before the work day starts!
I was very pleasantly surprised by this place - I’ve walked by so many times but never stopped in! The seating & atmosphere to dine in is pretty bare bones, but is cozy enough and gets the job done. Staff is welcoming and friendly, but not overbearing. The food was great - I got the pad see ew and the noodles were nice and chewy with a flavorful sauce.
Great food and friendly staff in modest surroundings. Drunken Noodles and Tom Ka soup were both delicious. Lunch specials might be the best deal in town.
Great food, great service, great lunch specials!
A must try! Stopped by today for lunch to-go. Wow!!! The food is fantastic, the service was quick and everyone was extremely friendly, and the price was unbeatable. Looking forward to coming back and trying more of the menu items!
Great lunch special! Delicious and fast service
Their Larb Gai Krob is a bomb🔥 So tasty! The chicken is crispy and flavorful. If you like spicy and sour food like me, you will love this dish. The sticky rice comes in a good amount and very filling. I also love their homemade salad dressing, this is a very healthy option you get to eat more vegetables on the salad that comes with this dish too. Highly recommend!
The service is great, staff is very nice and attentive.
Beautiful place to visit and get a delicious meal. There seemed to be only one person front of house but they were quite nice and very attentive. The food was exquisite.
Superlative breakfast sandwiches with unrivalled freshness (go with the ultimate that had the potato cake).
I stopped by this place on a whim, since I was hungry and wanted a quick dinner. The drunken noodles were delicious! I then made a point to stop by a few days later for a breakfast sandwich and was also really impressed. Very friendly people running it too!
BEST Thai food in DC! Fresh ingredients, beautiful decor inside, delicious taste in every bite, food made with love and wonderful service👏 Once you try this place, there’s no need to visit other Thai restaurants in the area anymore, because this is as authentic as it can get when it comes to Thai food in the DMV area.
As good as any Thai restaurant in the city. Every dish is well executed and the team is awesome.
This was a great Google find. I was craving Drunken Noodles with a lot of veggies, and reviews led me straight here. This dish had fresh green beans, red & green peppers, onions & tomatoes in a mildly spicy sauce. I added chicken, which was juicy and cooked to perfection. And the noodles were obviously homemade; they were very silky and fresh. The portion was large enough to share. My Thai tea was also yummy. The servers were very attentive. It was slow for a Saturday afternoon, so the food came out really quickly. I highly recommend Thai and Time Again.
Delicious Thai food at a reasonable price. The owners are always friendly and welcoming. What more could you want!
You can't beat their $13 lunch specials. My friend and I shared the Pad Thai and Pad See Eew Combos, which included 2 spring rolls and a drink. We loved the food and couldn't have had better service. A great little neighborhood restaurant that everyone can enjoy. It's close to the Woodley Park Metro and within walking distance to the National Zoo. Easy to find next to CVS.
Banana rolls for dessert were quite unique! Highly recommend
Great service and the chicken pad thai was delicious. Will be coming back for sure.
Absolutely great meal! It really satisfied me! The service was also great. The waitstaff were kind and provided the best service! If I didn’t live out of town, I’d come here weekly!!
Stopped in for lunch after a visit to the zoo. This place was just a few steps around the corner from the metro stop. Food and drinks were amazing! Pineapple red curry was so good and don’t miss out on the banana spring rolls. So happy we found this place will be back soon.
Staff are friendly but ordered the pad see ew and it looked odd, like it had no sauce on it. Tasted extremely vinegary and had to put it down.
Good, authentic Thai food. The ambiance was nice and food came pretty quickly. Price was reasonable too. The Tom yum soup was nice, so was the pad see ew
Get the tom yum crispy chicken!
The workers were so kind to my friends & I despite us not realizing it was closing. The food was good & overall lovely experience.
Very nice spot! Has a great peaceful vibes and amazing hot food and fast service. Great hospitality and flavorful food. I will definitely be coming back to try more options. I will say the crab Rangoon was good but didn’t have much crab in it my only critique.
Food and service was amazing and pretty well priced especially for DC.
I had a very good time at Thai and Time Again. The team is very attentive and pleasant. The dishes are delicious. Very authentic, and fresh, like in Thailand.
This place is amazing! The springs rolls were fresh and crispy, the crab Rangoons were some of the best I've ever had, and both our meals (Gai Sub chicken and fried tilapia with onions) were incredible. The staff was super friendly too!
Thoughtful presentation and good food at a reasonable price. Mango sticky rice was especially good. I also loved the space. Definitely coming back Wed. for happy hour.
Received the wrong order. I ordered Pad See Eew and Drunken noodles, and got two Drunken noodles instead. They wouldn’t pick up the phone to amend the problem. Annoyed and disappointed.
The best Thai food we've had in loving memory. Every curry was delicious and even the standard pad Thai was elevated.
We went here because of the free dumpling offer. I was very disappointed. I got the Pad Thai, which I normally love, but theirs was bad. It didn’t have much flavor and added things like green beans, broccoli, and carrots, which I have never seen in pad Thai and didn’t like. The dumplings weren’t good either.
Picture of the pad thai attached.
A great little addition to the neighborhood. Green curry and lava shrimp were delicious!
Had Kra Pow chicken and it was absolutely delicious! Thanks for the team and their upmost effort! Papaya salad is to die for.
Quick service, super friendly staff, and tasty food!
I got the chicken pad thai and it was delicious! The staff were nice and good ambiance in a quaint little place
On the way home from the National Zoo, we were pretty cold and a bit hungry, and it was around 9pm. So as we walked past one place or another, we'd have to decide quickly whether we wanted to try it. This is where we ended up. It wasn't our first choice, but it was pretty good! The name is pretty silly, it seems like half of Thai restaurants have silly names.
There was one small group of diners inside, and they seemed to be enjoying their meal. The whole dining room could only hold a few tables. The menu had a bunch of dishes we'd normally get in Thai restaurants, like spring rolls, but here even those had meat in them. Fortunately, we both like pad Thai and that was meat-free. That was the only thing we had, and it was pretty good.
Service was good and helpful, but not too familiar with the ingredients. It worked out nicely though. I'm not sure I'd make a point to return, but I enjoyed eating there.
Low-key Thai restaurant with good food and excellent service! The crab Rangoon, Thai ice tea, satay, and banana rolls were great. A nice addition to the Woodley Park restaurant scene!
Excellent staff and chef. The owner is obnoxious--I certainly wouldn't want to have him as a boss. He may not be up to the competition since there are several quite good Thai restaurants nearby. The one time I went it was BYOB. The food was B+/A-.
Great new spot
Yum. What a cute and cozy space! We ordered pad thai and kra pao. Both were delicious. Love having a good Thai place in the neighborhood now! Definitely recommend.
Food was just ok, and it took an exorbitant amount of time I mean just too long. Restaurant was not busy at all. Portion sizes were small. The servers were nice and attentive and apologized for the wait but I expected a manager or owner. there was a very creepy man just creeping around doing God knows what. If he was a manager, he’s a detriment. I was excited because of the reviews and then severely disappointed. Needless to say I won’t be back. Total waste of time and money.
Excellent service, excellent food, I had the Chicken Pad Thai. The guy serving behind the counter was super nice. The food came out quickly and tasted great. When we were waiting on my friend who came later to get his food the guy came out and asked if we wanted waters without prompting. The ambient music was really good.
In my 20 years of living in Woodley Park, this is the best use of this space yet! It is unfortunate that the other establishments did not make it, but wonderful to have such a fine Thai food establishment in the space now. The food was delicious. A repeat. Welcome to the 'hood!
Food is good, staff is friendly. We will be going again
Great new addition to the neighborhood. Awesome to have dine in. Fried banana wrapped spring roll skin is so good. Fried chicken is so delicious. Crispy outside and tender on the inside. Papaya salad is really good too, not too spicy but has a little kick. Ordered pad Thai with chicken. It is good but would be better is they offered fried tofu. Love the decor and warm. Happy to see it in the area.
Authentictically delicious and well priced. I'll be back soon!
I tried them today and they were exceptionally good! We shared the tomka soup, red curry, and yellow curry fried rice. The flavors were intense and delicious. The atmosphere inside is friendly and comfortable, and they offer take out as well. We'll be back soon, and I highly recommend you try them out.
