First time experience dining at Baan Siam and it will now be one of my go-to Thai places to dine in DC. The place is super cute and inviting. I arrived around 5pm and it wasn’t quite busy yet but it does fill up pretty fast.

Menu: Can I just say how much I appreciated that every food item on the menu had a picture. I chose a few items that just looked aesthetically pleasing.

Cocktails: I highly recommend trying the Frozen Lychee and/or the Lychee Martini. Both were so good though I preferred the martini.

The Start: The fried pumpkin was tasty and my favorite was the Golden Fried Pockets. I really wanted to order another round but needed to leave room for the main dish.

The Main: I got the “Khao soi” with chicken and the Stir-fried rice with garlic shrimp. Both were fabulous. I’m not normally fan of pickled vegetables but I must say that I wish I had more of it in the Khao soi. The stir-fried rice was also pretty amazing though you might want to order extra shrimp if you choose to get it.

Drink (Cocktail)
• Lychee Martini: 5/5
• Frozen Lychee: 5/5

The Start
• Fried Asian Pumpkin: 4.5/5
• Golden Fried Pockets: 5/5

The Main
• “Khao soi” with chicken: 5/5
• Stir-fried rice with garlic shrimp: 5/5

I was too full to order dessert but the next time I go, I will try the mango and sticky rice.

Love this place! Their food is high quality and so delicious! We usually get delivery but came in one night because I was craving their beef dish! It was a busy night and everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. Our server was friendly and the food preparation was well-paced. Great food. Great service.

Diner Review №3

Definitely a solid and reliable spot to do a nice dinner but I feel as though there was fewer options for vegetarians than I recall from a couple of years ago. Highlights were the fried enoki mushrooms, the lychee martini, and the kanom krok dessert. Service was great and the ambience is beautiful.

A quick note that we did call to ask if the curries in which tofu can be substituted on the main menu contained fish sauce and they said no before we made our reservation. When we asked again once we went to the restaurant they made it clear that those lotions do actually contain fish sauce. Small note, but that was a factor in us deciding to make our reservation in the first place so it would be helpful if there was consistency in sharing that understanding.

I tried many Thai places in the DMV area and I can confirm Baan Siam is the best one. Is one of my favorite restaurants, go there at least once every 6 weeks. I highly recommend the Shrimp chilli paste fried rice with pork, Thai Vermicelli in peanut sauce, Crispy lotus shrimp salad, Northern thai pork curry. Yummy! A must try!

Diner Review №5

Our favorite Thai spot in the city and the bartenders are such a gem! Don’t hesitate! The Tom yum noodle soup, the fried pork belly or the fried lotus shrimp salad are some of my favorites 😍

Diner Review №6

Friends took me to Baan Siam last night. The restaurant has nice atmosphere, attentive staff and delicious food. The dishes had that nice combination of crispy things, sweet, spicey and color. The mango in their Mango Sticky Rice was one of the tastiest mangoes I've ever enjoyed.

Diner Review №10

Don’t recommend this place. There are wayyyyy better options around in DC.

Diner Review №11

Green curry was overall good but had too many green beans

Fried pumpkin pancakes were excellent

Baan Siam rolls were a bit bland

All thin glass noodles I've tried here were good

Diner Review №12

Tom yum is bit sour compared to ones that I had in Thai.
Other than that, other foods are good and staff are so friendly and like the vibe! 😄

Diner Review №13

It was my first time trying Northern-style Thai food, and it was delicious. The flavors were well-balanced, not overly strong or overwhelming, which made for a very enjoyable meal. The staff were friendly, and despite the restaurant being busy, communication was smooth, and service was quick. The place was clean and well-maintained. Overall, a great experience!

Diner Review №14

We LOVED this place. Every single item that we ordered was fantastic and perfectly flavored. I am definitely going back the next time I’m in DC. For dessert we ordered the coconut ice cream, and it blew our minds — it came in a half of a fresh coconut with a bunch of different toppings. We couldn’t stop talking about what a great experience we had here. Highly recommended.

The dishes were all good. The Asian waitress was pretty normal when serving. When she saw that I skipped the 20% tip option and chose 17% tip, she rolled her eyes at me. I also wished her a happy day.

Diner Review №18

A bit disappointed after seeing so many positive recommendations online. The dishes were overly salty and too sweet. Would not recommend.

Diner Review №19

Baan Siam!!!!!!!!! So good.

Diner Review №20

They charge 25% tip on all orders

Diner Review №21

We’re recommended by a friend long time ago. Happen to be in town and decide to try it out. The food is so so average, even below average. Not even as good as a small family-owned one in the plaza near our neighborhood.

Diner Review №22

Ordered Tom yum fried rice with shrimp and Thai vermicelli noodles.
Rice: a little hard to chow don’t think is cooked all the way 4/5 the flavor is good tho and the shrimp is tasty

Noodle: very good mix of spicy and sweet sour flavor. 5/5

Food was burnt and all they wanted to offer was a 10 percent discount after spending a good amount of money. In order for me to get my food replaced I had to take the 30 min drive back the same night. The customer service with this issues was not good and I will not spend my money here again.

Diner Review №25

Longtime customer Soi 38 will be my new spot. I have enjoyed this place for years but whenever you have a problem they are TERRIBLE at taking accountability. The final straw was spending $190 and food that was burnt and Tommy the manager being completely unapologetic and refusing to resolve it. I’ll drive past here from now on.

Lots of good dishes and cocktails.

Diner Review №28

Many interesting dishes, and taste great!

Diner Review №29

Food was delicious and the service was great. We had a coconut soup and chicken tapioca dumplings as appetizers. The chicken soup was definitely one of my favorite dishes ever. For mains we had a tom yum and a massaman curry. They're not kidding when they warn you about the spice levels (which is awesome haha).
Had a mango sticky rice for dessert and it was perfect.

Diner Review №30

Walked in for lunch and got placed at the bar. Amazing tasty food.

Diner Review №31

I recently dined at a restaurant where I tried a variety of dishes that left me with mixed feelings. While nothing was downright bad, none of the dishes really stood out either. Here's a breakdown of what I tried:

Khao Sai with Chicken: This dish, a Thai curry noodle soup, was decent but lacked the depth of flavor I expected. The broth was mild, missing the rich complexity and spice that make Khao Sai a standout dish. The chicken was tender, but overall, the dish felt somewhat bland.
Lemon Grass Chicken: The Lemon Grass Chicken had potential, but it fell short in execution. The chicken was cooked well, but the flavor from the lemongrass and herbs was very subtle, and I found myself wishing for more of a fragrant punch. It was pleasant but not memorable.
Chicken Pineapple Bites: These were small pieces of chicken with pineapple, but unfortunately, they didn't quite hit the mark. The combination of sweet and savory didn't come together as well as I'd hoped, and the dish felt a bit one-dimensional.
Spicy Fried Mushrooms: The mushrooms were crispy, but the "spicy" element was underwhelming. There was a light heat, but not enough to really call it spicy. The coating on the mushrooms was okay, but it lacked the crispness or seasoning that could have elevated the dish.
Coconut Ice Cream: Dessert was pleasant enough, with a nice, creamy coconut flavor. However, the ice cream felt a little too icy rather than smooth and velvety, which detracted from the experience , the Coconut flavor was missing.
Overall, the meal was perfectly fine but uninspiring. None of the dishes had that wow factor, and I couldn't help but feel that they were all a bit rushed or lacking in attention to detail. If you're craving something specific or just looking for a quick bite, it's not a bad option, but I wouldn't go out of my way to revisit. The flavors didn’t pop the way they could have, and the overall experience left me wishing for a bit more finesse.

Magnifique surprise ! Excellent restaurant thaïlandais avec accueil efficace. Service excellent. Mais surtout un plat savoureux que je recommande : le curry de bœuf ! Un des meilleurs que j’ai mangé en-dehors de la Thaïlande. Prix très correct pour la qualité et le service. Je reviens dès que je peux !

Diner Review №39

Fun bustling place with great food. We had a party of 16 or so and we were served well with fast efficient service. Drinks were nice and all had a nice time. I got the vermicelli noodles which were delicious. Lotus root salad was also good. Portions are a good size.

Diner Review №40

Need more options for non pork and meat eaters.

Diner Review №41

Great service and food.

Diner Review №42

I liked the soup! The chicken dumplings and coconut cakes are special and we like them too.
My husband and I had an excellent dinner experience there 👍

Diner Review №43

Crispy lotus and grilled shrimp salad was very good. It would have been better with half the dressing so it didn’t overpower the salad and shrimp. Northern Thai mixed curry with chicken- very good. Again too much sauce. Spicy lemon grass chicken was also very good. Last, coconut pancake was interesting. I think it would be a hit with a drizzle of chocolate sauce and powdered sugar on top. Staff were very friendly and attentive. Good atmosphere as well and not too loud.

Diner Review №44

Fast service and great food!

Diner Review №45

Diner Review №46

The worst khao soi I have ever had. It smelled like cat food and tasted just as bad. Plus it was terribly small portion which would have been disappointing had I liked it. Instead it went down the drain and I went hungry that night. $20+ tax and tip is a lot for soup, but abhorrent for a small size that is inedible.

Diner Review №47

My favorite Thai restaurant in DC. Unique and the dishes are full of flavor!

Diner Review №48

Wow! This Thai restaurant is a hidden gem in the heart of DC. The menu offers a refreshing departure from the typical Thai restaurant fare, with unique and flavorful dishes. The Khao Soi was incredible - the perfect blend of spices and textures. The presentation was stunning, and the service was top-notch. Highly recommend.

Diner Review №49

My boss recommended this place to me as I'm new in DC and hadn't found a good Thai restaurant yet (Thai is my favorite kind of food). I'd tried other options nearby, like Beau Thai, which were really disappointing. After learning of Baan Siam, we made a reservation on Resy the day of, but arrived a few minutes late to our reservation due to traffic. We called ahead to let the host know. They were very understanding and seated us as soon as we arrived. It was busy but not overly packed, which makes sense because they stop seating new customers at 9:00 (at least on Tuesday). Our waitress brought out a large bottle of water for our table immediately. She was very attentive but did not rush us. We were starving and able to order right away. Our food came out very quickly as did our drinks prior. The food was great- and the menu included authentic Thai meals I haven't seen on other menus ANYWHERE. Whether you like classic Thai dishes or are a more adventurous eater, there is something for everyone. If you're looking for a great Thai spot in DC, this may arguably be the best. My only complaint was the lights could have been dimmer, but it was a casual Tuesday night dinner, and the food/service was so great that it didn't matter to us. I will definitely be back.

Very rude service!!!!!!!!
Do not come unless you wanna to eat unhappy. The Asian women always ignore your request and never come to ask how’s your meal.

Diner Review №56

Whoa baby that food is good! Some of the best Thai food I've ever had. Every item we ordered was top notch and authentic thai. I bet you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. We got the Nahm dtok salad, Mango Salad, and Pork Satay for appetizers. I especially loved the combo between the 2 salads; sweet and spicy/savory.

I had the khao soi and I'm a khao soi expert. This recipe has pickled bok choi and it's incredible! There were incredible balanced flavors and the chicken was so tender. The egg noodles are short so you can take easy bites without making a mess... if you've had khao soi before you know it can be messy and curry stains! The only knock is the crispy noodles on top were stale.. I wish they made those fresh to order... Our coconut ice cream desert was incredible, it came in a coconut shell!!

Other than that the service was a little blah, our server didn't seem very happy, I hope someone can cheer her up! The atmosphere is a little sterile too, doesn't really feel very thai.

Diner Review №57

Why they assume tip is 20%? We only had a lunch and the food is not that good. All meals are too salty and too expensive.

I had dinner with a friend at Baan Siam on October 1. We both had been wanting to try this place out due to the reviews and were looking forward to our visit. While the food was great and the employees who greeted us when we arrived were very friendly, our waitress ruined our experience. We had questions about the menu and since it was busy and loud, we asked her if she could please repeat the information. She raised her voice in the most uncomfortable and unpleasant way, which was embarrassing to experience in front of the other guests and it made us not want to ask any other questions. We ordered the same drinks so we wouldn’t have to ask any questions and avoided ordering additional food. I will not be returning and it is too bad because the food was delicious and the other staff were very nice.

What a great place to find, surprisingly Quiet for lunch and great food. Simply the best Thai restaurant in town.

Diner Review №64

Baan Siam is really, really, really good. I love Southeast Asian food so I’ve eaten at a lot of options throughout the DMV, and Baan Siam is my favorite Thai restaurant. I recommend it often, and I’ve taken many out-of-town visitors to eat here since it’s such a unique option that’s also easy to like for anyone who’s open to Thai food.

The things we order most often are the Khao Soi, the shrimp and lotus root salad, and the fried enoki mushrooms. But, I’ve tried a bunch of other stuff and haven’t had a bad dish yet.

The cocktails are also great and I find that they usually have a good draft beer list.

Diner Review №65

We left with a very bad taste in food and service.
The Asian woman server there was very rude
Please be polite with customers who have allergies.
overall a bad experience

Diner Review №66

We walked in at around 5pm on a Saturday to grab a quick dinner before a flight and were on a tight timeline. Loved the atmosphere, spices and taste of the food, and how quickly the food came out. Our server (didn't get her name unfortunately) was courteous and attentive and had great recommendations that we ended up enjoying. Would have loved to stay longer to try the mango sticky rice, but would definitely come back and enjoy a longer, more relaxed dinner

I went there when they just opened for dinner (5 pm). There were plenty of street parking spaces and two parking garages nearby. Their menu has many options for you to pick out, either spicy or not spicy.

Diner Review №77

Had take-out today for lunch and it was SO DELICIOUS!!!! So impressed by the portion, flavor and the host was super friendly…

From ordering online the design of the menu made it seems like it would be a street-style small hidden in a corner type of restaurant but it’s actually a nice & clean one. I’d suggest create new branding & menu designs to match the vibe!

( we ordered the fried rice & shrimp garlic sauce, & the chicken garlic rice ) both were amazing. Good job!

Diner Review №80

please note that 20% of the tip is fixed, there is no choice, and after the fixed tip, you will be asked to sign an additional tip, careful of falling into the trap, this practice is very uncomfortable!!!!!!!!!!The taste of the food is no problem

Diner Review №81

Enjoyed a family meal here. Food was great, service also great. The atmosphere was fine not too loud and we could talk. May come back but since this is not our town it's not likely. I would recommend them.

Diner Review №82

I have been going to this restaurant for over 10 years and since their location on 14th street! Best Thai in town…hands down! Get ready to eat some real spicy food though. Amazing dishes! Can’t even begin to list them because I have probably eaten everything on the menu over the last few months! Beef salad, fresh water shrimp, lemongrass chicken are my go to. Well, beef curry and shrimp fried rice are too. Get ready for a head sweating experience which is well worth it! Let’s put it this way: I am not into spicy food, yet I keep going to this place!

The team is at a different level! So committed, kind and helpful! Nicely designed restaurant too. Good place for a date if he/she/they are into spicy food!
Favorites are: beef salad, fresh water fried prawns, mango salad, beef curry, lemongrass chicken…and then some!

Diner Review №83

I honestly feel like an idiot for living so close to this place for so long and never going. It's SOOO GOOD! And everything tastes so fresh every time I am there. I have been for lunch and dinner a few times. Always amazing service and food is just phenomenal. I love their spice levels!

Diner Review №91

The food is good. I recommend the soups.

I got the shrimp chili paste fried rice with pork belly. The fried rice was a bit too oily. I think it would've been better with more basil or peppers. The pork belly was really crispy. Also got the curry chicken, which was just ok.

We sat at the bar and the bartenders were very friendly.

The lowest tips here is 20% no matter lunch or dinner. I could accept this. However, the waiter will give you the instruction 'sign you name' and 'click continue'...., which is just like forcing me to pay for the tips.

By the way, during the lunch, I add the water by myself for many times, so I think the waiter does not deserve the 20% tips.

When I ask can I choose the custom tips and pay. The waiter becomes very impatient and angrey.

Diner Review №97

LOVE this place!!! Have been going there since their original location on 14th street. I have had everything on their menu and it is all so delicious and authentic. Go there, you won’t regret it 😊

Diner Review №98

Food too spicy

Diner Review №99

The food was terrific. The portions are very generous. The flavors are very strong.
For service, we gave 3 stars. I thought we were seated a little unfavorable, despite being a walk-in at 5pm, I thought there were enough seats in better position to be seen by the wait staff. We were sat right by the entryway, not ideal. The wait staff was oddly paired with us. We weren't sure who our designated server was. We barely saw one person consistently the whole meal. Our food took quite a while to come out. About 25 minutes. Then all 3 dishes came out at the same time.
Fortunately, the food was just amazing. It was all hot and fresh and delicious.
We'd go back again if we're in the area by making reservations and requesting specific seating in preferred areas of the restaurant.
Order: Tom Yum Noodle Soup w/roasted pork & ground chicken(amazing- but not traditional preparation), Thai Vermicelli Noodles(skip this one, the noodles weren't exactly vermicelli- they got soggy too fast, but the sauce is excellent), Shrimp-chili-paste fried rice with crispy pork belly (amazing!)

Baan Siam: A Culinary Delight

I recently dined at Baan Siam in DC and was thoroughly impressed. The food, service, and atmosphere were exceptional, earning a well-deserved 5-star rating. The Northern Thai cuisine is authentic and flavorful, with standout dishes like the crispy lotus root and grilled shrimp salad, and branzino choo chee curry. The restaurant's decor is stunningly beautiful and modern, creating a perfect setting for a memorable dining experience. Highly recommend for anyone looking to enjoy exquisite Thai food in a fantastic ambiance.

Diner Review №107

Absolutely fantastic dining experience. I have visited this restaurant for 5+ times in the past 3 years.

My favorite was spicy chicken in banana leaf, which was cooked to perfection and paired with glass noodles, string beans, and cilantro. Their fried Asian pumpkin and spicy fried mushrooms were also delicious.

This place is good for either large group dinner or small gatherings. Most of their dishes are spicy, but they do have a few non-spicy options on the menu.

If you like Thai food, this is definitely one of the places you should check out.

Diner Review №108

A bit salty but nice flavors

Diner Review №109

Diner Review №110

I paid for another dish cause my server made a mistake. And she apologized about her mistake about that and showed me a refund receipt. But even after 3 weeks, the money wasn't still refunded. I'm still waiting for that and it made me so mad.

Diner Review №111

Diner Review №112

This was actually one of the most balanced Thai meals I’ve had in a long time.

The Khao Soi hit the balance between the sweet and savory as one should and extra points for using bone-in chicken! It was delicious. Make it your duty to get the Khao Soi.

Both the green mango salad and beef salads were delightful and filling. Overall, I had a great time here

Diner Review №113

♿ = The entrance is wheelchair accessible and there's a wheelchair lift at the entrance which was great to find. They have a QR menu and wifi password at every table, and super accommodating staff.
⭐ = The drinks were on point, we enjoyed our dishes very much ( I had the Duck), and the music was fun. But it was the service for me!

Firstly, the host. We told him we wanted to sit outside, and he advised against it if we hadn't used bug spray, as it's that time of year. That was thoughtful. So we sat inside May, our waitress, was super sweet, non intrusive, but checked on us just enough. She also let us know when the bar would be closing to toss in any last drink orders. I told May she was a great waitress, and she told me I was a great customer. What a pleasant five star experience.

Diner Review №114

Wonderful food, drinks are magic, staff is very accommodating and sweet, and very accessible!

Diner Review №115

Excellent food; portions are pretty large. Khao soi was our favorite and was easily enough for at least 2 people especially if getting dessert after! Ice cream and the mango/coconut griddle was simply amazing.

Diner Review №116

We had a great Thai dining experience while exploring DC! We arrived for a Saturday lunch without a reservation and was seated immediately. We noticed the Asian crowd in the restaurant.

The standout dish was definitely the crispy lotus root & grilled shrimp salad, featuring a delightful citrus and peanut sauce that left us thoroughly satisfied. You have to order! The hot & spicy soup also impressed us - we were told it’s not Tom yum but tasted similar. However, the spicy chicken dish didn't quite meet expectations; it’s a good spice level but the vegetables failed to absorb the sauce properly, and the meat was flaky.

The tables were positioned closely together and we had a really loud neighbour, making us feel like we are part of their conversation.

Unlike many Thai restaurants that adapt their flavors to suit American palates by adding extra sweetness, we found Baan Siam to be pretty authentic experience overall.

Diner Review №135

Baan Siam never misses!! One of the best spots in DC! Get the Thai vermicelli and thank me later. So good! The golden fried pockets and grilled port skewers are also so good! Always great service!

Diner Review №136

Very disappointed...

Upon entering, I was immediately impressed by the stylish decor and ambiance, which set a promising tone for the dining experience.

The staff were courteous and attentive, providing excellent service throughout the evening. Additionally, the presentation of the dishes was aesthetically pleasing, showcasing attention to detail and creativity.

However, despite these positive aspects, I was deeply disappointed by the quality of the food. While the dishes looked appealing, the taste fell far short of expectations. The flavors were bland and uninspiring, lacking the depth and excitement that one would hope for in a restaurant of this caliber.

I will not recommend this restaurant.

Diner Review №137

Delicious! We got take out and would definitely order again. Khao Soi, mango sticky rice were our favorites. Also enjoyed the crispy pork belly fried rice.

Diner Review №140

This was our favorite meal in Lisbon. The service was exceptional and the the ambience was relaxed and casual.

Diner Review №141

Great food and great service.

Diner Review №142

Accommodating and friendly host staff. Service was a bit slow ( I arrived before my whole party and server didn’t talk to me until all in party were seated) except food came out really fast. Also we asked for chopsticks and they were never delivered to the table. Food was good but I felt limited in what I could order because the dishes are marked with number of peppers to indicate spiciness. I am unsure if this can be adjusted to taste. I only felt comfortable ordering dishes with two peppers, not three or four. The two pepper dish I got was akin to eating hot salsa, so if you don’t like heat this is not the place for you.

Diner Review №143

Had a really lovely time at Baan Siam. The food and drinks came out super quick and our waitress was great. I was really blown away by how flavorful and delicious the food was. I got the Khao Soi with chicken and it was amazing. I enjoy spice and found it to be mild but flavorful. The Lychee martini was also very nice. My only regret is not trying more things! This is a great spot.

The waiting staff wanted to clear our plates right as we were getting up to leave. I saw the staff clearing other tables after people left the table. I felt this as quite insulting and won’t be going here again. Please do better.

Wow, what a letdown! So, it was the first day I traveled in DC and was excited have my first dinner at your restaurant. But guess what? Heavy traffic had other plans. Despite calling ahead to explain and apologize for our delay, we were met with indifference and no other solutions even though we could see there were still tables available for later in the evening on google reservation page, and we offered to wait in the walk-in line or book for later, which means you would not have any lost as we called in advance and you could let other customers come in, or we would arrive soon and having dinner there.

But instead of understanding or getting a constructive solution, we got hit with a hefty $60 cancellation fee. Seriously? We just booked a table for 2 adult and 1 toddler.

What also really stung was finding out about this fee in tiny font at the bottom of the reservation page. The girl on the phone also didn’t say anything about cancellation fee, she sounds like “welcome to cancel, we don’t care you as our customer “, which might be your true thought.

Just wanted to share this sad tale in the hopes that maybe you’ll reconsider your cancellation policy and be a bit more upfront about it in the future. It’s the little things that can make or break a customer’s experience, you know? I heard from red books that you charge at least 20% tips as compulsory for service, but I truly feel the arrogant and indifference service at the very beginning.

This pork mushroom soup was too sour also I believe that the pork can make better.

價錢很合理,裡面也很乾淨很舒服,食物真的太新鮮了,吃完主餐必須點這裡的泰國紅茶冰淇淋,入口即化,我有史以來吃過最好吃的冰淇淋

Well seaoned food not too spicy.

Usually the food is more creative and delectable; today, both dishes were overcooked and a little under seasoned, not bland, yet not vibrant. Still going back; 5 previous meals have fully rated 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Diner Review №163

best thai food in this area. overall its was 5 out of 5.

Diner Review №164

Food is ok but overall the service is very poor. The waitress doesn’t even smile let alone be a little pleasant .she frowned a lot .
Overall we felt rushed and unwelcomed

Thai restaurant serves a traditional asian food. Good experience and service

Diner Review №167

The worst experience at DC. The host and waitress was super rude and doesn't sound like want to serve anyone. The food is average. You can find better Thai restaurants with better taste and better service in the area.

Diner Review №168

Absolutely amazing restaurant. Upon arrival, the guy at the bar was on point with water and the menu. Never skipped a beat. Taking order for drinks, for food, refill, and check. Everything is fantastic.
The atmosphere is great. This place is pretty big, but it gets busy. I arrived at 5 pm to beat crowds, and the crowds were there 20 minutes later. I planned at eating at the bar, but found out there were no tables anyway. So, by all means, make a reservation.
My only thing is that space all around the bar is tight. Chairs right next to each other, good for meeting, but if you are with someone, the next person over is with you too, LOL.
Flavors and portions were perfect. Note pay attention to the number of chilies on your dish, I eat spicy, and 3 was pretty spicy. I don't want to know what level 4 is.
I'll be back, loved the place.

The hosts are good but waiters are seriously racist. they drive away guests before We are not finished. the service a 0 star and also need to them 20% tips. yes, Morality makes tip.

Diner Review №174

Food was really good. I enjoyed my tum yum noodles very much. Quick service and always checking on our drinks. Will be back again for sure

Diner Review №175

I walked by this place a number of times before trying it out. Maybe there's something about the name or the signage that makes it look like just another generic Thai place. But, it's much more than that. The food is excellent. This isn't some bland Pad Thai place. The dishes are spicy and flavorful. And for the high quality I think the prices are very reasonable. This is definitely one I'll return to.

First time coming here for a family dinner. Everything we ordered was delicious from the fried mushroom to the duck fried rice! Our waiter was very attentive and explained the menu well. I would definitely come back!

Diner Review №178

All dishes I ordered are tasty, vibe is good, street parking is convenient, service is nice, would definitely come back!!

Diner Review №179

Found the food to be quite average. I think they cater to American taste.

Wanted to try this restaurant and finally got here on my last trip to DC... glad I did. I tried the coconut soup, khao soi, and mango & sticky rice. All the dishes were well prepared and presented. Although all of the dishes were somewhat different from what I've ate in Thailand, I did like them all. In particular, the khao soi, which is not very common in US. The service was excellent. Definitely will be back.

Diner Review №181

Coconut soup with chicken and the coconut milk ice cream dessert were amazing. The rest of the food was also pretty good. Great find!

Diner Review №182

really nice restaurant, nice ambiance. Food was delicious, good value for money

This restaurant has quickly become my favorite. Met some friends for diner and I was thoroughly impressed. The coconut soup was top tier.

Five-star! All taste really good and love their coconut ice cream - must try.

Diner Review №186

Best Vietnamese food I’ve had in DC. Also a big fan of the fact they specialize in Northern Vietnamese cuisine with dishes like Khao Soi

Every dish I tried was full of flavor and umami.

Diner Review №188

The most incredible Thai food I ever had. Even better than what we’ve had in Thailand. The dumplings and mango salad where delicious.

Diner Review №189

Nestled in the Mount Vernon Triangle, this Thai restaurant is a hidden gem that promises an authentic culinary journey through Thailand. The menu boasts a diverse selection of Thai dishes, each prepared with precision and a perfect balance of flavors.

One standout starter is the chicken Golden-fried pockets, where the delicate balance of sweet, sour, and spicy creates a symphony for the taste buds. We also ordered Spicy-sweet calamari, which was OK.

As a main course I tried Chicken red curry with chayote, which was delicious but spicy and hot. Comes with jasmine rice and i loved it. She tried the Thai vermicelli in chili peanut sauce, she liked the dish too.

The attentive staff adds to the overall charm, offering recommendations and ensuring every diner feels pampered. Vegetarians will find plenty to savor with options. The portions are generous, making it ideal for one person, but not shareable size.

In summary, Baan Siam excels not only in delivering delectable cuisine but also in creating a memorable dining atmosphere.

Diner Review №190

Good eats!

Diner Review №191

Excellent traditional thai...totally worth it. The spicy sour soup was delish, the mango salad was nice but prefer green papaya...the pork curry was also great...maybe less ginger. The highlight is the lychee frozen drink

Diner Review №192

Came here on a whim after out first choice was a bust. Best redirection ever! I was with two other women, and all of us loved our food and drinks. The food was seasoned to perfection and very filling. I got the Golden Fried Pockets, so yummy! The filling of ground chicken and shrimp was nicely spiced and the chili dipping sauce is the perfect accompaniment. For the main, I ordered the fried rice with garlic shrimp, and let's just say it's so good I'm craving it just two days later.

You need to go. I wish there was another location closer or in MoCo. I'd be there more times than I could count.

I really enjoy the Shrimp-Chili-Paste Fried Rice With Crispy Pork Belly and their coconut ice cream and I have been there twice. It does take a little bit to get your food and they do not have drunken noodles in case you are going there for that.

Excellent - in all aspects.
Thai Vermicelli with shrimp paste
