Temporarily closed by the health department this week after an inspector found live, dead and baby cockroaches.

A state health inspector came to Tasti Thai Restaurant, at 287 Christiana Rd., on Oct. 8 and closed the business for "imminent health hazards." During the initial inspection, the official observed a "heavy presence of live, dead and baby roaches throughout the entire food establishment," the report said.

Roaches were also on the food prep table, underneath equipment, inside of cabinets in the washing area and bar area, the report said. Thawing pattaya noodles were also on the washing floor and outside of the restaurant. "Floor, walls and ceiling not clean to sight and touch," the report said. The inspector noted that all of the food must be discarded before the restaurant is allowed to reopen.

Pad see ew and pad Thai were amazing. We were worried that we wouldn't find a good Thai spot near Newark, but now we have found it!

This place was absolutely fantastic. It's a little off the beaten Trail. You wouldn't think of a great Thai place in New Castle Delaware however this place serve good food and the lunch prices are excellent. Service was also very good. Parking was good. The only problem that I saw was it is not in a very convenient location.

We love it here! Staff is friendly (and knows my husband on sight at this point), and the food is always good. My only criticism would be that it's sometimes hard to predict how much spice you'll get on the food, but that doesn't matter much to me since I get mild.

This is a nice little place to grab some Thai food. I had the large rice noodle dish with chicken and a Thai tea. The food and drink were good, the servers were really nice and polite, and the location was easy to find with plenty of parking. Check it out. BK

I used to go to this restaurant during lunch when I lived in Delaware. The customer service was bad and the service was horribly slow. Not to mention that it was closed not once but TWICE due to ROACHES. Disgusting and would not recommend.

Good Thai food. Coupons used to be available in the Entertainment book. Not the best Thai, but pretty good. Drunken noodles are my measuring stick. Theirs are pretty good. Also had Tom yum soup and spring rolls. Tasted the Pad Thai. Not so hot, I'd skip that one. They might not be permanently closed. Please click 'like' if you like my reviews...

The Thai basil, green curry, and ton yum soup are good. A little bit pricy thought. But it is the best Thai restaurant we discovery around New Castle County so far.

They didn’t let us sit at a table when we were the only ones in line. “That table is for six, my manager doesn’t want me to do this” is common for the 6 different responses. Keep in mind that there were 5 places for us to sit and there was no one in line!

Delicious food! Great flavors! Nice atmosphere, great customer service. Prices are reasonable. I come from MD to visit this restaurant and REALLY enjoy they're food. I reccomend this restaurant to everyone that enjoys Thai! The location isn't desirable, but once your inside and eating, nothing else matters.

Great food and service. The atmosphere was fun and simple. I had Pad Thai Shrimp that was some of the best Pad Thai I've ever had. My girlfriend had a vegetarian egg plant dish that was just as good. We will definately ve going back there for dinner again.

This USED to be my favorite place to eat. That is, until I found baby cockroaches in my food.This happened a while ago and I never brought myself to write a review because I didn't even want to think about it. But as I was searching for a new Thai place, I came across Tasti Thai in my search. They had the BEST Lad Na ( and i have yet to find that dish anywhere else). It breaks my heart to not eat here anymore, since Thai food is my most favorite food ever. When I called them to inform them of the issue, they offered a replacement dish ( as if i want that?). A refund would have been sufficient, but I didn't get that.

Food is great but they are racists... If you are not white you are invisible to the servers. It would have been helpful if they post “White Only” sign!! Oh wait they cannot legally! I will never repeat nor recommend anyone to go.

Delicious authentic Thai food! This is my go to spot when ever I'm feeling Thai but don't want to be bothered with all of the work that goes into preparing a Thai meal. I can say that I am part Thai, I practically came out of the womb eating spicy Thai food. My mom always talks about how she always indulged in Thai food while pregnant with me and that I've always loved spice even as a young child! With that being said I LOVE Thai food!!! And living in Delaware for 20 + years I know It is not easy to find good authentic Thai food. A lot of places claim to serve Thai cuisine however to my disappointment it's always an Americanized version of my favorite Thai dishes and is simply uncomparable. I've had just about every "Thai cuisine" place in DE and Tasti Thai has the BEST Thai Food hands down!! Nails it every time! The food is always made fresh (in the past I'l have ordered take out from another establishment and the papaya salad was already be a few days old when I got home. Not cool) and ready in 15-20 minutes. For the most part the staff are friendly but at times can be aloof. Please don't take offense!! Being part Thai I know this is normal behavior for Thai people LOL. I would Highly recommended Tasti Thai to anyone looking for excellent authentic Thai food!

As a vegetarian I was happy to find lot of options. I ordered red curry and vegetarian spring rolls and must say the food was delicious. The service was also friendly, do suggest this place to visit once.

Horrible you know the place isn't any good when you come at lunch time on a Friday and it's only one customer dining inside food portions are terrible and the food is basic if you want real Thai look elsewhere trust me I read the reviews and said I'll try it myself well I'm sorry for once I didn't listen I would give this place no stars but I had to choose one seriously disappointed I paid 11$ for the smallest portion of vegetables I have ever been served in my entire life the chicken I ordered was nothing special either the plates only must be any good if you dine in I suggest just going to a Chinese store on the corner never ever sending or going there again idc what

I can bearly see any chicken on pad Thai as well as the color looks so disgusting.. and it says spicy fried rice but not spicy at all instead I can smell oil in it. One of the worst tasted restaurant food, I went to eat here by looking at the reviews, after eating here I feel like I should not trust the good reviews. ordered thai fried rice and pad thai both awful taste. ton of oil, blank feeling, price is too high for the quality of the food, at the end service seems to be poor too. I suggest if anyone want to really eat thai food, this is not the place to enjoy your thai appetite.

We loved everything got. The larb is my favorite. The Siam beef is amazing! Service is very friendly. Spicy is the word of the day. If you usually do a medium elsewhere, try going milder here because the are very authentic with the spice level.

Food is ok, just not worth the price at all. Tried to give them the benefit of the doubt and went there quite a few times only to be disappointed time and time again. No one understands English and if you get take out, they will ALWAYS mess up your order. I'm not a picky person and I don't expect much, but I expect more than I got from them. Oh! Also forgot to mention, I found a thick dark long hair in my sauce once. Definitely didn't finish my dinner that night. Never going back.

Food is good but not many options

I only had the steamed dumplings. I was expecting Chinese restaurant style dumplings but they were not like that. They were okay, the service was okay. I'd come back.

Worst restaurant to dine in. Cockroaches from fried rice plate. Kitchen might be roaches playground. I have never seen cockroach coming from a food plate. I shown to that to waiter and he was rude saying there is nothing.Never ever eat here.

This is the best Thai food place around. Friendly staff, great food, great prices! I fell in love with Thai cuisine when I lived in California. Moving back here I was worried I wouldn't find anything like what I had out there. But this place is hands down the best!

This place was amazing. We were a little taken aback as it is in a strip mall but I am so glad we gave it a chance. We got the Tasti Thai sampler and they subbed out the meat wonton for tofu- which was perfect! Everything was crisp and fresh and seasoned perfectly. The staff was very polite. Everything was clean. I'll make the drive from Baltimore if I want Thai this place was that good :)

This is one of the good Thai restaurant in DE. I would recommend this. They taste really good and spicy just how i want my food to be like. Kra-Pow. I ordered this and it was little more towards gravy side.. make sure you ask them to make it like thai style if you are ordering this.. it will be dry and taste better :-)

Consistently serves the best Thai food in Delaware - not saying much, I know, but stands up against any of the Thai places I've been to in Brooklyn or Manhattan. An inconspicuous gem hidden in an otherwise bland shopping center.

I live in Michigan but often work in Delaware. I try to eat at Tasti Thai everytime I come out here. The food is so delicious, I might even drive all the way out here just to eat at Tasti Thai!
