Our go to place for Thai. Our favorite thing to get is the Tom Yum Noodle Soup, it's absolutely perfect. No one else can match the broth its unbelievably good.

It’s hard to find a winner for taste, service and price. Thai Smile checks off all 3. We enjoyed pad see ew, appetizer and bubble tea. It was all tasty and served promptly. The place is small but clean and bright, and lunch ranges from $8-$10. Will definitely return next time in that area.

1. The BEST crab Rangoon anywhere!!!
2. Really easy system with minimal contact for picking up takeout food. So there’s not really any “atmosphere” but that’s also exactly what you want for a quick and easy pickup system.
3. Delicious food! We love the drunken noodles. And, as previously stated the crab Rangoon are awesome. I think they’re made in house.
4. Friendly staff

Barely put chicken in meals. Order curry chicken than drunken noodles. There is not enough meat. All noodles in drunken chicken than all vegetables in curry

Ordered Uber eats and I was extremely disappointed. The spring rolls had exactly 3 shrimp and one piece of avocado the size of my pinky finger. The rest was lettuce and basil. Not worth the price. drunken noodles were drenched in sauce, which was SWEET. I felt like I was eating dessert, the onions and peppers were raw, and seemed like they were added on top instead of being stir fried with the noodles, like they should be. I will not be ordering from here again when there are other Thai restaurants in the area (basil for example) who have better food and better prices

Decently sauced and cooked pad see ew and drunken noodles. Duck fried rice good have had more flavor to it. Will definitely order from them for a while

I've only ordered takeout here but if you're looking for an evening of Thai food, highly recommend Thai Smile! The menu is extensive and the prices are fair. The food quality is great and their curry's are flavorful. It's one of two best Thai places in Hamden in my opinion. I haven't dined in but my friends have had similar good experiences.

We ordered through Uber eats. The food arrived hot and on time. It was fabulous!! The spicy noodles and drunken noodles were Amazing! Tom yum goong soup was the best I have ever had! Prices were reasonable and portions very fair. Thank you for a delicious meal! Will order again!

I go there all the time. Last night I purchased food for my daughter and my total was $12.83 I get a notification tonight saying $16.83 was being charged to my card. I clearly wrote 0 for tip and even wrote the total again $12.83. And they still helped themselves to a $4 tip. The lady, daughter and father swore my 0 looked like a 4 which is inaccurate because I wrote the total down. Check your statements cause I’m sure they’ve done this before. I will never go back again!

on 4/25/22 i ordered pho beef for lunch, I didn't suspect anything bad while eating it i was so hungry, but that night i had burning fever and my head and body ached. Almost a week after and my body still feels tired after it with some bronchial congestion. i was healthy before eating this. i realize i had been food poisoned. i had never eaten there before and never will again.

DISGUSTINNNGG!!! Chicken was undercooked and old looking, like it’s been sitting All day. I actually feel really nauseous after just one bite. I will never order from here again and definitely will not recommend this place to anyone but a freaking dog! I wish I could give zero stars 👎🏻

Amazing food. I had Pho Smile ( Yen ta pho) and Somtum with grill chicken.
Both are really good. I am Thai and this food is just like having food in Thailand. I live in Westport but I think that when I want a really good Thai food, I have to drive to Hamden for Thai Smile.

This place has some pretty good drunkin noodles. You definitely get your money's worth.

I ordered two chicken drunken noodles last week. The noodles were stuck together in clumps and appeared to be a day or so old. The shrimps and chicken were old and hard as well. That's too bad, I mean I love Thai food but its a shame when the owner puts profits ahead of fresh quality food. When I called to explain the quality of the food, the girl there was very unhelpful and unapologetic. I said to her we probably wont buy food from you any more if you cant fix this problem. Her replay was "Please don't by food any more" and Thank you for not buying food! really pretty bad attitude especially when you called them to help them with a problem they have. Very ungrateful, rude and third world quality food. I have a suspicion or just a gut instinct the seniors that work in the back are not throwing away bad food but reusing it. I do not recommend or trust the quality or very poor service from Thai Smile!!

I tried this spot today because it got great reviews.1. The drunken noodles had bok Choy instead of fresh basil, I dished out a whole chopped up onion from my meal and there was no tomatoes in my dish. 2. I also got the wonton pad Thai for my kids, there was absolutely no eggs in the dish. Disappointed!

We went to Thai smile a while back when it took over for Thai awesome. We were disappointed with the food and looked for other places in the area. But recently we wanted Thai takeout and Thai smile is so close to our house we decided to give it another chance. This time the food was excellent, very tasty. My wife ordered pad Thai and I ordered a spicy beef dish and we both enjoyed our orders. I don't know if earlier they were just getting the kinks out but I would totally recommend Thai smile at this point.

In the neighborhood for a show and came upon this hidden gem. Interior is small, but cozy, clean and nicely decorated. Service was extremely warm, friendly and very helpful to all customers (dine in and take out). The food was delicious: fresh, expertly prepared and exactly as described in the menu. I ordered a spicy dish and unlike many Thai restaurants it was NOT just bumped up by the overwhelming addition of red chili flake. It was subtle, a back-end smokey/sweet hot that didn't linger or destroy the palate. An pleasant surprise was the hot tea which was served in individual pots (plenty to last the whole meal) with a generous slice of orange to gently sweeten this magnificently brewed hot beverage. The ONLY drawback (and reason it didn't get 5 stars) is the parking situation was not great, but that will not stop me from going back every chance I get.

Food was good and staff was super friendly and attentive. There’s like no parking so we parked down the road and walked there, it was worth it though!

The veggies were fresh and perfectly cooked. The tofu was chewy on the outside and soft on the inside. The appetisers came with sprigs of mint leaves. Friendly service and the food came quickly. No complaints!

This location seems like a small hole in the wall, but I have eaten here several times as well as ordered pick up food from here and the food is excellent! The restaurant appears to be always clean and the staff are friendly. Best Thai food I have eaten in Hamden or New Haven.

My friend and I heard good things about Thai Smile, so last night we gave it a try. It totally surpassed our expecations. I was concerned that on a friday night it was so quiet. We were promptly greeted and took some time to look over extensive menu. we ordered soups (Tom Yum Goong, and Tom Kha Gai) and my friend and I tested each others and couldn't decide which we liked better as they were both delicious. His was loaded with fresh shrimp and mine was very abundant with chicken. We also ordered the Fresh Spring Rolls for an appetizer to share. One thing we both noticed immediately was how fresh the rolls were. Veggies were crispy and the accompanying sauce was nice and tangy. My main course was the seafood madness and my friends ordered a shrimp curry. Both were outstanding in preparation, taste, freshness and presentation. Mine was loaded with scallops, shrimps, calamari and mussels...mmmmm.
The prices were very reasonable. I will be back and highly recommend.

Terrible food. Ordered pad thai with tofu for lunch- the scallions were literally brown and the peanuts were mushy like they had been sitting in the noodles for days. The bean sprouts were wilted and not crunchy. The noodles had a crunchy sandy texture to a few bites. I got a strawberry "bubble tea smoothie" which was absolutely awful. It had the color AND TASTE of pepto bismol. If I hadn't ordered delivery I would absolutely have sent my food back.

We discovered this little gem while in town for an appointment. There were very few cars and little parking which made us a bit skeptical but once inside the natural wood and subtle but colorful decor was clean & inviting. While chatting with the friendly staff we discovered most locals come for takeout which was evidenced while we dined. Our food arrived quickly. My tasty broccoli lunch combo included a fresh mixed green salad with a delicious salad dressing made from scratch! My son who is an avid Pho connoisseur enjoyed his beautiful broth with abundant noodles and fresh colorful vegetables so much we ordered extra to take home. A 10 in our book!! Thank you Thai Smile! You live up to your name!

We went to Thai Smile for our anniversary last year and had a wonderful time. It's a cozy place - you'd almost miss it driving by - clean, colorful, and warm inside. We sat at a table on the left just before sunset (in July) and the light shined directly on our table, lighting up our smiles. The food was very good: fresh and mouthwatering, but not overpoweringly spicy. The waitress and owners were friendly and made us feel at home. We want to say thank you to them and recommend it highly to anyone looking for a no-frills, quiet, romantic place to enjoy delicious Thai food!

Tasty but really hot salad

Overall both of the meals we had here were good. The food is fairly simply prepared, but it's tasty, and not overly done with spices or extraneous items. I was able to taste every element of the food, as opposed to it all being watered down into a kind of generic blend. We did think the pad thai was a little bit on the Tangy side, but we did not mind that at all.

The interior of the restaurant was very clean, I believe this is a relatively new place, and the service was excellent. The food came out very quickly, which was nice because we were in a little bit of a rush that particular day. This was very close to being 5 stars, but there was just the tiniest little something missing from the food, and also there was a rather unusual scent in the restaurant when we walked in.

Pricing was very inexpensive, and I would recommend this for a tasty, fast meal if you're in the area. One drawback is that parking off-street is fairly limited, although you should be able to park on-street without any problem.
