Tried their lunch special that includes entree, soup and appetizer.
I had the Tom Yum Chicken soup and the broth was full of flavor and spice. The Thai Basil with chicken was very tasty and spicy, however I think the onions and peppers could have been cooked abit more. I ordered a veggie dumpling however got a chicken dumpling that lacked flavor in my opinion. Nice size portions, reasonable lunch special. The website lunch states 2 dumplings however you only get 1. Would go back to try another of their specialties.
this is my favorite restaurant in the whole country. the tom yum soup is the best thing i have eaten! the shrimp chips are the best pared with the sauce! the basil chicken is so delicious and flavorful! my dad has been going here for 24 years and he estimates that he dined here over 1000 times.
Wow. First time coming here and I’m really pleased I did. Even though my order was to go, the staff is super friendly. The seating area is clean and decor makes you think you are actually in Bangkok.
We ordered Pad Thai, Drunken Noodles, and Thai rolls. Everything was excellent. I just wish they had a lunch special for our meals.
Thai food is really good here. It's hard to find good Thai food in CT after living in NYC where good Thai food is plentiful.
Got the shrimp drunken noodles and shrimp Thai fried rice.
Both were good and flavorful. Nice big sized shrimp which I was happy about and really good sized servings. It was enough for 2 people to share.
We also tried would one of the thai teas and it was pretty tasty. We've also ordered takeout from here and it held up really well after a 15-20 minute drive home.
Yummy food & service was wonderful.
I'll go back again.

This is a nice, quiet gem.
Everytime I visit Danbury I make sure to stop here. By far some of the best food for the price I’ve ever had. Service is amazing and the atmosphere is very chill
Not the cheapest place but it's very good. We come from Queens so we have had a good amount of Thai food. Now living here it is good to know there is good Thai food nearby.
The drunken noodles were excellent! The restaurant is clean and inviting. Great find!
The food was absolutely delightful, and the restaurant maintained a pristine level of cleanliness. The service was exceptional, enhancing the overall experience. I wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a great dining experience.
很貼心,無論是服務、環境、價格和食。喜歡泰食的飯友值得去試試。
Friendly, clean, fast, tasty
I think I found my new Thai place. The staff/owners were super nice. And the food was so delicious and fresh. The shrimp pad Thai is hands down my favorite in Danbury. Will be going back and recommending to friends.
Delicious and authentic food. The service and atmosphere was great, we felt at home. We highly recommend it!
Food was quickly prepared, and their Boba drinks are wonderful. It is a blended drink rather than a liquid tea like I’ve had before, and it was even more satisfying than other drinks that I’ve had. I truly recommend their specialty dishes as they are worth the extra price and their jasmine rice is on point.
This restaurant is a hidden gem. The food is super fresh and authentically prepared. The owners are very professional and quality oriented. The staff strives to make the experience the very best, and they take it personal. If you are in the Danbury Ct. area and enjoy this special Asian food, there is absolutely no better place. Visit Bangkok and it will become your favorite as it is mine.
It's not often I give a 5 star. I am very picky but I have had a lot of Thai food and I recognize its this good.
I had hot and sour soup, but I usually order Tom Yung Gai as a benchmark, so next time I will to see what its like. The soup was excellent.
The basil and Thai spice pork was fantastic, such a depth of flavor.
Excellent service and atmosphere even though it was quiet after lunchtime when I was in.
The lunch deal at $9.50 is fantastic. Soup, spring roll and main. The portion is appropriate for lunchtime. And I appreciate being able to get a soup and a main for this price and not be totally bogged down.
I can't wait to come back in and try other items.
Edit.
Back in again and ordered the shrimp tom yum soup. Its the best version of tom yum anywhere.
This place never disappoints.
Great Thai! We ate here many times, and we were never disappointed. Food is always great, the place looks traditional and cool, and the staff is always super nice.
The food here is 100% authentic to Thai food and the service is absolutely immaculate! Dawn is amazing and is warm with children (we have 2 under 5). But back to the food…chef’s kiss! Compliments to the chef man what a burst of flavors! Brings me back to my visit to Thailand every time. Highly recommend with no hesitation! Also if you aren’t big in spicy food please keep that in mind otherwise indulge because we can all use something that delicious that cleanses your sinuses! Guess I’ll catch you in there soon!
The honest to god truth about Bangkok is while their Thai food is always sublime every time I visit, the real secret is their pho is probably the best in the area and it's not even close.
The crazier aspect of this is how they have a Vietnamese restaurant down the street, where their menu caters more to pho than anything else (for good reason), and Bangkok still crushes their broth by a landslide. Oh, and the amount you get is almost double than any of the other local restaurants that serve pho, so yeah, you get your money's worth.
Go to Bangkok, enjoy the complimentary shrimp chips, eat the pho, enjoy the experience, and thank me later.
The food is always delicious. Very nice service.
This place took me by surprised I couldn’t believe how clean/flavorful the pho was! The shrimp crispy appetizer so yummy, cute place to try.
Delicious Pad Thai and cashew chicken
Took my 2 nephews...we loved it!! We all ordered different dishes and shared. Most importantly you can control the heat. You want it super spicy, reg spicy or bland, they serve to your taste. I found a new place!!
The food is outstanding. Loved every dish we tried (crab fried rice and pad prig king with tofu) The staff is very polite and accommodating. They brought out crayons and a coloring book for my toddler. Overall, a great experience.
Favorite Thai Restaurant!
The menu said "grilled salmon". It was deep fried and way over-cooked. I don't eat fried food. We were so hungry, I let it slide. Some people try to get away with whatever they can.
The food was very authentic and tasty.
If you live here or are passing through, this is a must-go-to place
I love this place. The food is delicious and they can make a lot of dishes vegan/vegetarian. Highly recommend.
Absolutely amazing Thai cuisine. The lunch special that comes with soup, spring rolls and lunch entree is only 9.50! The Tom Yum soup is to die for, probably the best I’ve tasted in the entire state. Service is friendly and quick. I will definitely be coming back!

We ordered Pad Thai, Drunken Noodles, and Thai rolls. Everything was excellent. I just wish they had a lunch special for our meals.
The best boba tea around danbury! 5.50 for a giant cup of boba. Delicious and local.
We explored another Tai food restaurant Bangkok. I didn’t expect the food was extremely good! We really like the dishes! And the environment was very comfortable! The service was excellent! We promise we will be back soon.
Truly disappointed by the people who left this place positive reviews. Far and away the worst Thai food I have ever had in my life. And certainly the worst within the Danbury area. The fried rice was bland. The pad Thai had no flavor. And the pad kee mao did not deserve to be called that.
Great placed to get oriental cuisine ,
People are so courteous.
Fried rice delicious. I recommend the place

I have been to Thailand many times and love Thai food very much. I often go to such restaurants and have never been so delighted with the quality of the dishes that I tried in this place! I can definitely say, at the moment, this is one of the best Thai restaurants in this state that I have ever visited. I definitely recommend this to you
Food poisoning.
Authentic. 1,000% recommend!
Good food, good atmosphere. My dads been taking us here since they opened and when the amazing owners passed away in a horrific plane crash we were devastated they were amazing people and would always make sure to come and talk with us when we came in to eat and it broke our hearts to think about not seeing them when we went in. When they opened back up we continued to go and do to this day the food as a touch different now but still very good some of the best Thai food around. (definitely get a Thai iced tea if you go it’s amazing)
One of the best bubble teas I’ve ever had! Got the mango one, good price for the size and friendly staff!
Thai tea was great!
Amazing service. Great food. Decent prices. Nothing but the best. Love it there!
I’ve been to almost every Thai restaurant in Danbury and Westchester county and nothing compares to Bangkok. The Service is kind and prompt. I get the drunken noodle vegan and have yet to find anywhere that tops Bangkok’s. Don’t bother with any other Thai restaurant in the area, Bangkok is the best around.
Great atmosphere, service and the food was absolutely amazing! We tried 5 different items and everything we tried was delicious. Best hot and sour soup we have ever had! Pad Thai was great and we were blown away by the pho soup. We will be back and highly recommend!
Super delicious Thai food. Friendly service. The restaurant is clean.
One of our favorite restaurants in Danbury.
Great service.
Outstanding cuisine the best service ever. A wonderful place A+++++++++!
Hidden gem. Absolutely phenomenal food. Staff is very friendly. The place was good years ago under old management but the new owners have taken it up 10 fold. Love this place. Great prices and fresh food. Highly recommended.
Consistently amazing food!! New(ish) owners but food hasn’t changed, still my favorite Thai food place in Danbury! I get the pad Thai vegan (no egg, no fish sauce) and it’s always done perfectly.
This food straight up made me sick, tasted good tho
Don't let the strip mall location fool you. This food is glorious. The curry puffs are one of the best things I've ever tasted. I also had one of their soups which had a subtle complexity of flavors that was excellent, and the Shrimp Pad Thai which was quite good. If I lived closer, I would be a regular, for sure.
I am so happy they re-opened this restaurant!! The food is absolutely delicious and the staff are so welcoming and friendly. I got the chicken fried rice and it came out so quick and was so good i finished the whole thing! Cannot wait to back!!
One of my favorite spots to get Thai food. The wait staff were really friendly and the food was delicious! The new owners remodeled the place and it looks really nice!
I ordered the shrimp drunken noodles extra spicy and my boyfriend ordered the chicken pad thai which were both real yummy. The portions were large and there was enough leftover food for another meal. My favorite was the mango and sticky rice desert with coconut milk, just thinking about it makes me want to go and grab some right now!
l definitely recommend coming here
Lived in Danbury my entire life and decided to finally give this place a try when I heard it was under new ownership and that it was a must try. I’m glad I did because I can’t get enough of their food. The curry puffs are my favorite appetizer which I hear is new to the menu and the pad Thai. The servers are very kind and social when they aren’t busy. Sometimes the service can be slightly slow, but this comforting place and it’s food make it 100% worth it. Congrats to the new owners! They’re doing an amazing job
Really authentic Thai food. I love going there with my family because the ambience really relaxes me. The staff is so nice and accomodating!
My new favorite spot. Gave their food a try when I heard there were new owners. Had a great experience in their comforting atmosphere. The servers were very friendly. Will definitely be returning for their pad thai!! Can't wait to return
The food is very delicious! Everything was perfect and the workers in there are very kind! I highly recommend this place. My parents came here in the past and now everything is different in the place. The place is beautiful along with the food!
I've gone here for over 7 years, and it has changed hands a few times since. It just changed hands again, the service is much better, the woman who owns it now and her daughter are both so sweet and friendly. The only downside is that they say the chef is the same but the food is a little different, still very good but not quite as authentic.
Worst Thai food I ever had
Worst Thai food I’ve ever had, don’t waste your money guys!
incredible food, slightly slow service but definitely worth it
Been a regular a few years ago and the service and food were excellent.
Dined, yesterday and the service was terrible. Took 20 mins for someone to take our order. Food is average at best.
very disappointed. A waste of an evening. Thai Delight down the street in Newtown is much better. Is family run.
Easily the BEST Thai food in Danbury.
All your reviews are useless. Tell us what you ordered. It has been quite a while but I believe I had the dish with Ginger extremely tasty.
Traditional Thai recipes ! Flavor with a kick 🔥...
The original Thai restaurant in Connecticut. The gold standard for Thai food. Wonderful flavors in every dish. I love the ginger chicken (Pad Thai King) and add extra chicken for a few $ more. Also love the Thai beef jerky appetizer (boneless rib tips in a soy ginger marinade that are boiled). Best Pad Thai noodles, incredible flavor!! Love the shrimp chips that are free when you dine-in.
I drive 45 minutes from my house to eat here. I never mind the effort because the food is so good! The NY Times should send a food critic here to delight in the incredible dishes.
This is a must try restaurant 100% if you like Thai food. This place opened in 1986 and is now operated by the next generation of the family (really nice people). Very clean and upscale but above all delicious!!!
I should have posted a review 15 years ago. My wife has been eating here for about 25 years. What a gem!
Bon appetit!
My wife and I enjoyed our meal and the friendly, helpful atmosphere tonight. Gale was a pleasure to spend time with; we talked about food and traveling, and she was right on in her recommendations! We will return when we are in the area again. We have returned to our Airbnb with a menu to leave for others to enjoy this gem of a restaurant. 🙂
Great food
AMAZING authentic Thai food.
BEST in Ct.
Been coming here for the past 30 years and was exceptionally good tonight
Very cozy looking place and nice staff. We had take out and I must say that it was good but not the best. I think the food could use a little more spice to make it taste better. Might be just me but I think the taste was on a bland side. It was definitely fresh but just lacking a bit in the flavor.
Been going here for 20 years, raised my kids on pad thai and satay. Never disappointed (only if they're closed for vacation!)
rude lady with the blonde hair and bangs. she was rude that’s all i have to say. i don’t like her. won’t go back here and don’t recommend anyone else. the food isn’t even good
Always delicious.
Cosy atmosphere, friendly and professional service and most importantly very good food. As entrees we had the vegetarian rolls and fried calamari and both had just the right level of crispiness outside and tenderness and freshness inside, and were not too greasy. Then we had the shrimp pad thai which was truely delicious and comparable to what you can actually eat in Bangkok. The main was massive and enough for two. The waitress was super nice and efficient, just a pleasure to deal with.
The best Thai around hands down!
Great food and a very nice ambiance! The staff is friendly and they also do take out which is a plus!
Delicious and great ambience and staff Thai food well done
Truly authentic Thai cuisine. Friendly, attentive wait staff. Have always had a wonderful meal and a great time in this Danbury gem of a restaurant.
Always a nice place to have a quiet dinner for two or three. Pleasant service as always. Thank you!
We've been coming here for many years. Everything is absolutely delicious; the staff is gracious and delightful. Vegan/Vegetarian requests are easily accommodated. The Pad Thai is the best. We love Bangkok Thai!
Been coming here for many years now. Never disappointed by the delicious food and wonderful service. It is great to see Gail continue the legacy of Taew and Val by keeping this place open. It is truly authentic Thai!
Great food, service was excellent very helpful, clean, nice atmosphere. Highly recommend!
I enjoy coming here. The servers are always a delight and the food never disappoints!
Come here often. Excellent food. Simple, tasteful and wholly understated.
The chicken pad Thai here is horrible.
Excellent food, great service, nice quiet atmosphere.
Really a great meal - I had a carry out package, and I was a little disappointed in the order size (I've had the same food in house, and it was a great deal larger portion).
But overall - its great food, great staff, and comfort environment.
The atmosphere is relaxing and comfortable and the food is always fresh and tasty. The staff is welcoming and friendly.
Fantastic, friendly service. Recently changed owners, the owner is also a fantastic chef. Love the Pad Thai and Crying Tiger dishes. Chicken Satay skewers and Spring Roll appetizers are a must. We're here at least once a month for dinner and a movie. Love Bangkok!
Got take out. Very poor presentation of food. Came in aluminum instead of standard plastic. Which in turn lead to a very small portion which I feel didn't match the price. I ordered chicken and got tofu in half of what should have been chicken. Their website says the lunch special comes with soup or spring roll, when I called they said it didn't. Overall it seems they are trying to cut corners.
Good food and service.
Nice curry, and nice staff. The decor is pretty ok too... A little dark but overall nice.
This is the BEST restaurant anywhere!!!!!!! We've been going here since it opened, for 30 years. It is a tribute to the owners that their family is keeping it going. Their soups are authentic and out-of-this-world. The Thai hot and sour is probably my favorite "food" on earth. My husband likes the Tom Yum Goon and I also love their Tom Yum Gai (chicken/coconut milk). We've been to Bangkok, Thailand, and this restaurant is better than anything we had there. In fact, one of the first restaurants we visited when we returned was this one. Love their pad Thai as well as drunken noodles. My other favorite is the Cashew Kai (chicken). The sauce is unbelievable and spices fresh and tasty. Always get the lunch specials which are a wonderful bargain, coming with soup. I visit Bangkok at least once a week...
It's just all right.
Great Pad Thai and other traditional dishes.
amazing authentic food
good place for lunch
Food is great. I love the soup in the winter but the owner is just such a drag. Guy is always rude and talks down to other customers. No clue why, he just always seems annoyed. Curry is pretty good though
there are a lot of haters talking about how bad the food is, and the service. They must be food snobs because their food is amazing, but yes the owner sometimes could be not as friendly as you would expect. . i'm looking forward to going back to see how the food is after they reopen because the chef and owner are no longer there (died in a plane crash). I call every so often to see if they are open yet and the voicemail message says that they will reopen in january. I hope the food stays the same.
My family has been going here since 2006 and we will not go to another Thai restaurant. The food is amazing and the service is incredible. I cannot say enough great things about this restaurant, owners, and staff. If you haven't tried it, you should.
My first time, really enjoyed lunch, I'm going to try to get my wife to go. Give it a try.
It is indeed the worst. And found hair in the food . The rude old man chattered angrily about how you should wait or how you should do when coming inside .
Incredibly terrible place
An excellent taste of Thailand.
We ALWAYS order here at my job. Then today, we opened our food up and there were STAPLES in the food. Yes, Literally staples. Maybe from Stapling the bags closed over our open food? I do not know how.
When we called them and then went in with pictures and everythign they told my co worker to leave, that they were goign to call the cops and REFUSED to give us our money back! They said that we "Put the staples in our food"!!!
We are furious and will NOT eat here EVER again. So watch for staples in your food.
it's much better to get take out here but mostly just because it's quite quiet when you dine in. but the food is great and the people are lovely.
By far the worst. The staff is dragging their feet like someone is forcing them to work and the owner is acting like a slavedriver, leaving one person to serve the whole restaurant. One rude old man who knows nothing about running a restaurant or customer service called us jumping monkeys when we asked about his poor menu. Nice going chap! Stay tuned!! Hopefully closing soon.
Good food, reasonable prices. The space is small, but it feels perfect once you're settled in.
