Low key Thai casual dining and take out located in a century old Victorian home in downtown Golden, Colorado.
Just went to Thai Gold for the first time and SO happy that I did. My partner and I tried the Pad See Ew and the Pad Thai- both super delicious. We each got a lunch special that included a small bowl of soup and a little appetizer. The food was insanely good, and the service was great- they were super attentive and kind. Would highly recommend!!
We went to Thai Gold in the weekend for lunch. Started with a long wait at gate, though it was no where near to the capacity. The ambience looked old school, homely but need lot of maintenance. The table and chairs were not clean or comfortable, floors were dirty. We waited for the food we ordered, the staffs were trying hard to manage the few guests. We requested for water without ice but got glasses full of ice. Foods were delivered within 10-15 minutes but without silverware. We had to request multiple times, still did not get knives. We order some noodles and beef vegetable starters. The food was too bland and sweet which is quite unbecoming of thai food. The quality was not up to the mark the quantity was also too less considering the price. Not easy to find parking around this place. We will not visit again nor will recommend.
Stumbled onto Thai Gold after we went through the Coors tour. What a nice find. First, we enjoy Thai food and was very happy we decided to stop in and try Thai Gold. We arrived later in a Sunday and didn't have to wait for a table. Loved the building. Food was very good. Enjoyed our visit and next we are in town, we'll be back.
Came here for lunch and it wasn’t packed yet. So we got the lunch set with spring rolls, gyoza, and soup as appetizers which were the best of them all, even better than the main dishes. I ordered green curry chicken and my husband had the cashew chicken until we needed to switch the dishes because I couldn’t bear the blandness of the curry. The cashew chicken was fine but the sauce was a bit too sweet.
And from both dishes, the warmth of each dish’s element (rice, entrees) was uneven so it gave me an awkward impression somehow by thinking that one element might be reheated or one could stand at room temperature for a while. It was very unfortunate and it didn’t give me the Thai cuisine flavor anymore until the last bite.
However, the service was great with agile staff and the place has this Victorian home vibe. But the cleanliness must be noted because there has to be a lot of furniture around the dining tables. Keep up the good work tho!
Great restaurant, how did we miss this for so long?! What a pleasant surprise and great experience. We stopped by for a Saturday dinner and they seated us right away and were right on spot with friendly service. We tried the steamed Goya for an appetizer, which was tasty. Also tried the Tom kah soup, which was pretty mild but FILLED with tons of chicken, which was good quality. For the mains we tried the pineapple curry, panang curry, crispy basil chicken, and pineapple fried rice. All were great! I’d highly recommend trying this little gem and we’ll be back soon!
On our outing to Golden we tried Thai Gold for lunch.
The green curry was wonderful with just the right amount of zing. I was worried as the server didn’t ask what level of spice we wanted and I usually like it spicy so I was very pleased! We enjoyed the dumplings and spring rolls that accompanied the green curry.
Our 7 year old had no complaints about the pad Thai and neither did our toddler. We didn’t notice a kid’s menu so they got the main meal. And there were leftovers!
The venue is charming with plenty outside seating as well.
S cool here an really good food. Fast waiter and a beautiful area
Had the panang curry and it was delicious. We’ll definitely be going back!
Spring roll was fried. Main dish of Pad See Ew was bland. Green tea was warm water and one tea bag for an entire pot. Tom Yum soup was terrible (chicken was hard and wrinkly and base was tasteless. Very disappointed and unless they get an actual Thai cook I will never go back and neither should you.
William service was good. Their dunkin noddle was awesome
It's good! Good portions!
Not GREAT thai like oh my god this is the best but it's good.
Great food with amazing service. Will become my go to Thai place in the Denver area.
Awesome food. I always stop when I'm in town. I love the Spicy Eggplant.
Overall I like Thai Gold. I've been eating here for about 10 years and it's a reliable source for tasty Thai "style" dishes. If you're an authentic Thai food snob, then you may need to temper your expectations a bit. Most recently I've noticed a big decline in the portions of vegetables per dish. I know everything is more expensive these days, and I get cutting costs where plausible, but c'mon! I ordered crispy basil tofu last night and I think there was maybe a quarter of a bell pepper in the mix. It was pretty much a full plate of tofu. My girlfriend ordered extra veggies on a dish and it was a sliver or two more than mine. Unfortunately this isn't just one time, it's becoming the norm. I really want to support my local restaurants, but it's beginning to be too disappointing. Maybe I'm a outlier and people just want a seasoned plate of protein 🤔

Good Thai food
I gave this spot another chance after my last lack luster experience. Another swing and a miss. Bland food overcompensating their lack of flavor with an overly heavy hand on spice ever after I requested mild spice.
If you want good Thai food there are plenty of other options that are leaps and bounds beyond this disappointment. Try US Thai in Edgewater, or J’s noodle star Thai on Federal.
Never going here again
Always GREAT, GREAT food. Little privacy as tables are close, but we don't mind that. Try it! It's really worth it.

We've never dined in, always takeout.
This place is great! My wife loves the curry dishes. I always get the same.... basil fried rice.
You get pretty much three meals per dish.
It's great food, and good value.
It was nice eating lunch outside.
A favorite to eat in Golden.
When they tell you that they are too busy to put the sauce in your food when your paying good money to be here tells me that this is an establishment not worth going to. I’ve come here many times and I always am told let me ask the chef. The fact they are too busy to do this? Early your damn money. There are way better places to spend hard earned money on
Servers are always attentive. Never had a bad meal here. Love coming for the pad Thai and green curry.

Cute place inside an older house with plenty of outdoor dining. Service was fast and friendly and attentive. They even paid attention to the small wait we experienced because it was crowded. Really nice people.
Unfortunately the food didn’t quite match up. The chicken was salty and overcooked and our dish that was supposed to be spicey was pretty bland. Even the appetizers seemed like something you could buy frozen.
It was the only place that wasn't packed. Probably because the food is only ok.
Could use some floor work
We love just about everything here. It’s been our #1 takeout spot in Golden since we moved here 5 years ago. Crispy basil chicken and all the curries are delish!! Great employees too.
Great food, nice staff!
Great food and amazing service
It was my first time visiting Thai Gold. We had a lovely time on the patio. Service was very attentive and quick. The food was delicious - we got two appetizers and each ordered fried rice - all vegetarian. It was all delicious. The tofu was prepared just how I like it! The dishes that don't indicate a spice level, I'd recommend asking for some spice to add a little kick because otherwise, there is no spice. I will be back!
We usually eat out on Fridays, but this week we ate Thai food! The softshell crab and golden thai noodles, but I think Drunken Noodles are more our style than Golden thai noodle! Anyway, this is the closest Thai restaurant to home, so I think I'll keep going! The picture may come out a little bad because there is no lighting.
i really liked the green curry and spring rolls. the inside of restaurant was beautiful
Average food and service. Was fine but would not return.
Food was great and the place was neat.
Really tasty food. One of the best Thai restaurants in Colorado that we've tried. Service was good as well. Parking though, does suck.
Delicious Thai food, friendly service.
Excellent food in a beautiful old house with a strong woman leading the whole operation. Very impressed!
I come here quite often. The wait time can be hit or miss
This is a cute little restaurant that has pretty decent food. Went for lunch and had Tom yum chicken, spring roll and chicken panang. The chicken wasn't the greatest- in both things it was pretty overcooked, but the curry and broth were both excellent. The waitress was attentive and kind. Took off a star for the chicken but other than that it was good.
Not great service when trying to get a table , horrible customer service
Food is fairly good. Service has been typically poor. Def recommend if you're into Thai food, if not I'd skip
Best basil chicken in the country. So good every single time!
Came here for lunch and it wasn’t packed yet. So we got the lunch set with spring rolls, gyoza, and soup as appetizers which were the best of them all, even better than the main dishes. This is simply the best Thai food I've had in Colorado after trying many places for years. The flavors are captivating, the presentation of the food is enticing, the ambience is elegant and homey but also authentic, and the service is always superb. Did I mention the prices are very reasonable?
I got the three flavor chicken and really liked the flavor but was disappointed in the complete lack of spiciness, but the duck wantons were great.
The service was very good and multiple staff went above and beyond to accommodate a dog tired from a hike.
The atmosphere was great as well.
Small place, good food, friendly service.
They have the best green curry and drunken noodles.
solid menu. excellent service. reserved atmosphere
Such amazing food and good portion sizes for the price! Service was fantastic and so friendly
Absolutely love their red and green curries (I get veggie version). And staff are always really friendly and helpful.
I live in Denver but whenever I am in golden I always make sure to come here, even if for take out. They are also just as good when reheated and usually buy extra to have another day as well. Been coming here for probably 15/20 years now...
Loved it!

Great!
The food and service was amazing. Loved the calamari, three oceans, and sticky rice dessert was incredible.
Stopped in Golden for a couple days and very happy to find this restaurant. We default to Thai when traveling. The staff were very accomodating finding a table for us and my service dog. The Mango Mohito was amazing. We shared a couple starters; the wonton soup was lovely - lots of veggies and flavorful broth. I'm giving them four stars on the food since we asked for one pepper level of spice on our drunken noodles and it was definitely 2+. It only burns twice...
The shrimp kapow almost brought me to tears because it was so good
I’ ordered food to go. After luch, we tree hurt stomac, and 30’ later, we got diarrhea!
Panang curry is amazing!!! Came in very late with my son after a basketball game and they were very kind to service...
This place made me write my first ever review, I went here with my boyfriend for the first time, thinking it'll be great from all the positive reviews. When we got there, they told us to hurry up. The veggies aren't good and very wrinkled up and chewy, and the beef is okay. They are really overpriced for the small portion you get, and the waiters stare at you then at their watches. Please keep in mind that we came maybe an hour before they closed before re-opening for their dinner. When we were leaving, they went out of their way and pushed us out of the restraunt itself. Overall, it has rude service and low-quality food for the prices they set them at.
Great Thai restaurant in Golden.
Not the best.
Very good food , the real deal , thank you guys
We love this place. It is nice and within walking distance so it is easy to just drop in for lunch or dinner. We have never had a dish we didn't love, and they will make any dish vegetarian if you request it.
Good, but not amazing Thai food.
I’ve only ever had their green curry and the steamed pork dumplings but I will always keep coming back for them! Best green curry I’ve ever had
The food is here is above average but it’s not the best Thai food we’ve ever had. They are the only Thai in town unless you’re willing to drive but the food is good enough to justify their existence and standing. The restaurant has a cool ambiance inside a converted old house, we do enjoy that aspect. Recommend skipping the pad Thai and trying other noodle dishes or curries those are better.
Friendly staff, good food, I usually stick to the curries, but haven’t tried a dish here that I haven’t liked
Cute little place in a house with a nice outside porch for dining. The mango mojitos are delicious but very light on the alcohol. We were questioning if they were virgin drinks. The soup was delicious and the portions were good. The actual meals were just okay and while the service was quick, it wasn’t very friendly.
smelled this place from down the block & it did not disappoint! incredible service & even better food
Lovely vibe and good service, but mid food - very salty. It improved with a side of rice, but it still wasn't great :/ I eat lots of Thai food and can't recommend this one. Dishes ordered: Pad woonsen, drunken noodles, and Bangkok noodles. Drunken noodles were the best of the three.
Excellent Thai cuisine in a funky old house. Wait staff was superb.
Great Thai food. It's probably the best in the area! We love the pad thai and the cashew chicken.
Beautiful old house. The curries are absolutely delicious. Not a big fan of their pad thai but the Panang Curry is so delicious that they still get 5 stars for food. Thai fried rice is also amazing.
Lunch special is super affordable.
Food was so flavorful and delicious. The staff was super friendly and attentive, refilling waters and ensuring everything was okay.
Maybe I ordered wrong, but I thought the food was terrible! Spring rolls had some kind of mushy stuff in it! Calamari looked like fried onion rings with no flavor. Cashew tofu, I think had ketchup as a covering? Sure it wasn’t ketchup, but it looked and tasted like it! I’ve had tofu at other Thai restaurants that can’t even be compared to this “stuff”. The atmosphere was great but food was really bad! Definitely not real Thai! Also very expensive!
Great restaurant!
Best drunken noodle entree I’ve ever had! Our party of 5 left extremely pleased with our dishes and the price is extremely reasonable.
Honestly is was horrible!
Very mediocre Thai food and service. Some of the worst Yhai food I’ve had-they depend on sweet or salty for their flavors and too much of both. I had the pad see ew with Tom yum soup and a spring roll from the lunch menu. The soup was salty and sour with two tiny shreds of chicken. The spring roll was smothered in a very sweet sauce and mushy. The pad seemed ew was over sweet. The one positive was the delicious Chinese broccoli in the noodles; I wish there had been more. Overall, disappointing and I will eat elsewhere when I come to Golden. The service felt rushed; “get it and get out” was the vibe I got.
Good food. We ate outside bug free. Nice variety of foods if you like Thai cooking. I do so I recommend it.
Really nice place, great service, the food was good and the ambiance as well as.
Overall the food atmosphere and service was very good. I liked everything but the pad Thai.
Mediocre food. The cocktail tasted bad. Service included a mixed up drink order, completely forgetting to put in the appetizer order, a long wait for food, and empty water glasses. I definitely don't recommend this place.
As soon as we walked in, we knew this place was going to be good, the place was BUSY. But the good kind of busy where you can still get a table and excellent service. The drinks(mango mojito/Jade) we’re poppin, the food was equally delicious. 10/10 would go again.
Quick, comfortable place to have some lunch! The prices are well worth the amount of food and the service was great!
It’s going to be my first and last time. The food was extremely salty. We did complain about food being salty. Also for the price the quantity was also less.
Food not very good and service even worse today. Usually better on both fronts. Maybe they were having a bad day??
OMG, hands down our new favorite Thai restaurant! Duck Cream Cheese Wontons???? Mind blown. So freaking good. Drunken noodles will never be the same anywhere else now. We didn’t even try the pad Thai, saving that and the crispy duck for next time we go back. Having a kid play volleyball in Wheat Ridge just paid off!!
Eat the pad Thai!! Food is great!
Update: Since my first review, we've had Thai Gold a few more times, and it keeps getting better. 😊 This is great for those of you that need a GF menu. If you don't, it's just as great according to my husband.
Previous review: Omg. This is so good. I have Celiacs, and I have not been able to find a place that I can trust. We ordered takeout. Everything on the menu can be made GF. On the appetizer list, only the satay is GF. My meal was completely separate and in it's own bag. I ordered the garlic chicken. It was so good! I also had the chicken satay. The garlic chicken serving was so big that I have enough for another meal.
My husband ordered a regular meal, and he loved it.
Also, the food is very spicy. I ordered mild, and it was hot. Not too hot to eat, but I was glad I didn't order "hot".
We live up the hill (about 40 minutes away), and we will be happy to make the drive. 😊
This review is also posted on Find Me GF. 👍
Tom kha was way too sweet. Kapow was way too salty. Very reasonably priced, though. Decent atmosphere as well.
Good Thai food, plenty of options. Seats inside as well as outside on the patio and on the sidewalk. The staff was friendly as well
Great food!
Love this place
Go there: Get the Red Curry w/ Tofu. All the curry are perfect though.
Order the Crispy Basil Duck & Pad Woon Sen!!
This is my favorite Thai place in the Denver metro, and that’s not because I live nearby. The owner and staff are from Thailand and the it shows. The Crispy Basil Duck is authentic, unique and a show-stopper. I am also addicted to Pad Woon Sen (glass noodles) and Basil Fried Rice. I usually get two of those three so I can take some of that awesome home. I’ve also had the Po Tak (seafood soup) Thai Beef Salad, Green Curry, Spicy Eggplant and all were what I expected. If dessert is your thing , the Mango and Sticky Rice is traditional and perfect.
Great evening in Golden with some of the best Thai food we have had in a long time. Sat out front in the evening air with our family and dog enjoying great food and company. Our server Hanna was excellent.
The food came cold. The “lightly battered calamari” was heavily battered. The cashew tofu had no visible cashews until you dig around to find a few tiny ones and was in a sickly sweet sauce. We came because of the good reviews so not sure what’s going on.
Excellent quality of food, very tasty. Some of the best thai food I've had in the West. A group of 5 of us went and everyone had great tasting meals.
Golden tofu and spring rolls were decent. Pad see ew and basil fried rice were much less good, my noodles were undercooked and both were flavorless. The deep sea dish was a little better, actually had a little flavor. All had massive portion sizes though.
We had the pad Thai and a chicken Basil dish. The staff is great and the location has a cute patio. Not my favorite but a decent find in golden/denver general area .
Best Thai food I've found between Denver and Boulder
That kapow chicken made my week. I come here all the time.
Came here with friends on their recommendation. I had the Crispy Basil Chicken and they had the Green Curry and the Panang Curry. I also had a Mango Mojito (I can’t remember the exact name of the drink). The food was delicious! We sat outside on the patio and it was a beautiful night. Our server was attentive without being in the way and he recommended my food and drink. I will definitely be returning.
Nice little thai restaurant, the flavors and portions were just right!
Good food, reasonable price.
Not sure I got what I ordered; I asked for a plain beef salad it was too spicy. But the quality was good.
My kids love the Pad Thai. However, if you want something for adults that are familiar with Thai food, then some Tom Yum soup and the Chickens Green Curry is my favorite.
Just WOW! The worst Thai food I can remember in a long time. Having grown up in SE Asia I have a solid understanding of the food. Brown iceberg lettuce with the Larb and slimy watery pad Thai with no redeeming flavor or finesse. Not at all sure how this place has a star rating north of 4.
Cashew chicken had an unpleasant ketchupy almost sweet and sour sauce. Pad Thai was okay, but taste was off and kinda bland. Pretty unsatisfying. Both of us left feeling kinda gross. Restaurant and service was fine.
The staff were super friendly and so patient with us. The food there was incredible! Highly recommend the Crispy Basil Chicken!
Very charming and the food is very authentic. I will say though that their food is on the spicy side even if you don't want spice. I got a level three and I couldn't handle it lol! If you're not a spicy person then go with zero spice whatsoever 😉
Always outstanding.
It looks nice inside and the folks I spoke to were kind and efficient, but the veggie pad thai and veggie drunken noodle were pretty sub-par. The calamari also seems like it’s probably not actually squid, and it was way too heavily breaded. Very processed and not very fresh.
Nice Thai food.
We absolutely love this place!!! Could eat here every day forever and be happy!
Used to love their fried rice. Would brag about it to friends. Haven’t ordered from here in while due to traveling for work. Tonight’s Tai Gold Fried Rice was terrible. Absolutely no flavor just completely vanilla. I ordered some for myself and my teenager and even before I took my first bite my teenager was like this is definitely not what we normally get? My wife ordered the garlic chicken and didn’t finish her plate because it was too bland. On the bright side, the crab cheese wontons were delicious!!
We ordered to go, so not able to send back. This review justifies the $70 bucks (bill + tip) we wasted.
I am very much enjoying going through the menu here. A friend recommended the Crispy Basil Chicken and it is delicious (although some have told me it used to be solid chicken in the past, now it is more breaded/nuggety). I have also tried the Kapow and it was also very tasty - the sauce very flavorful and the peppers nice and crunchy. Looking forward to trying more menu items.
I love this place I’ve been going here for ever it’s always been really good food. Love the soup.
Paltry portion sizes on their carryout orders.
We love there spring rolls here. Located near our apartment, this place was a food haven of asian.
The curry was good. Front of house was welcoming and friendly. I will go back.
Can't say enough good things about this quaint eatery. Great selection of noodle and rice dishes with your choice of thai spice levels. Ample amounts of food well priced and full of flavor. Converted home adds to the charm of dining in. Family owned and operated so the service is top notch. Perfect spot for intimate dinners or anniversaries.
Great Thai restaurant, cozy atmosphere, excellent service. The chicken satay and green curry was fantastic
We really enjoyed this Thai restaurant set in a house righ ton the edge of downtown. We had Duck Cheese Wonton, Duck Curry, Thai Gold Noodle, a cocktail and a juice/mocktail. I'm normally a Panang curry guy but haven't seen duck curry before and had to try it. I'd recommend every dish we tried.
Best drunken noodles I’ve had in Colorado
Decent food. The prices on Google are out of date. $70 for a takeout for four.
Great food in a cozy, friendly atmosphere!
Half of satay chicken not edible. Very disappointing. Fried rice was good but not worth $16
I scrolled through some reviews below. One had satay chicken. Ours looked nothing like that. 4 pieces half that size. 2 of 4 in each order was chewy and rubber. Sad. We love Thai food.
Amazing pad Thai! Really big servings when you eat in the restaurant. Can’t wait to come back
Amazing spot to hit after a long day on the move. Very generous portions and very flavorful food.
We got the Duck Cheese Dumpling appetizer and it was absolutely delicious and fried to perfection
Will absolutely be going back
The taste of the dish leans towards being slightly sweet, and the noodle used for the drunken noodle dish was dried instead of fresh, which made a noticeable difference. On a positive note, the vegetable spring rolls tasted good. However, I do not recommend the chicken Tom Yum soup, as it lacks the necessary spices.
Best Thai in town
Stopped in here for my first time to grab a quick bite to eat & ended up being really pleased with my decision. The service was great & all the employees were really friendly. I was delighted with how many gluten free options were on the menu as well. The Huckleberry lemonade cocktail was nothing short of spectacular 🍋🍹
Very cute place with nice ambiance in Golden. I got the golden tofu triangles and Pad See Ew. The tofu triangles were good! Pad See Ew was okay. The noodles were undercooked and the flavor was very light. I didn’t ask for spice level but I did get their Thai chillis to add. It was spicy and tasted really good! Great service at the restaurant.
These days all take out has small portions and subpar food. This place has great portions and great food! Everything we got was what you want Thai food to be.
This was our go to, but we have decided we need a new Thai place. Last couple of times we have tried to eat in, it is an issue of where we can sit, even when they have room for us. Today, the breaded chicken was awful. We've eaten the food here a lot, so my wife mentioned the chicken seemed different. The waitress told us they are using a different brand, because the one they normally buy has been out of stock. My wife mentioned it didn't taste very good and waitress just nodded and said "yeah". Not inspiring, and not able to cut up and bread your own chicken? This place has gone downhill.
This places is great. Very diverse menu and great heat factor on many dishes while still maintaining flavor essence. Always 5 stars for me.
