Would definitely order from here again.

The service was lovely (thank you Yuan), the sweet and sour chicken was some of the best I've ever had and the veggies with it were fresh and well prepared, the Vietnamese coffee was not rushed and it was oh so good. I'd definitely come back and try more dishes. The price point is impossibly incredible too. What a lunch! Thank you!!!

I recently ordered the KU Pong chicken, and it was deliciously spicy! The food was great and just the right amount for one person. Even as a spicy food lover, I found the hot chili slowly burns your mouth in a delightful way. The atmosphere is great, with plenty of space to enjoy your meal comfortably. My only complaint is that they don't have Wi-Fi, though it's not a major issue. Overall, highly recommend!

I wanted to like this place because it has decent prices (especially compared to the adjacent crab shack) and is decently close to where I live. What a cool little spot! The food tasted *fine*, but it wasn’t really exceptional. “Mango” chicken had pieces of mango, but the sauce by itself had nothing to do with Mango. The spicy beef was tender and delicious, but again not exceptional. Spring roll was kind of bland, but it had an okay crunch. We asked for steamed rice and got fried rice; we were told the fried shrimp was made in house and was massive, and what we got was just… hm. Not worth the price, I think.

Staff was friendly and kind, knowledgeable and decisive. We liked her!

Music was a bit loud over the speakers, and we were there for lunch hour but only a couple other tables were filled in the sizable space.

Worst drunken noodles I’ve had, could’ve made it better at home. Noodles were literally stuck together with no flavor

Ordered take out from here, the gyoza was awesome but the Pad Thai was terrible. It was like a tomato sauce for some reason? We also got chicken friend rice, miso and wonton soup and they were all decent. Probably won’t order from here again though.

I finally found my go-to Chinese food place since moving from the south. I’ve been on the search for 3 years now, and they are the closest I’ve found to home. Will be a loyal customer from here on out!

Horrible. Pad Thai tastes like bad spaghetti and has no sauce. Drunken noodles barely have any sauce and are equally disappointing. Appetizers were underwhelming. Absolutely avoid this place.

I have been coming here for a long time. I was very upset with my dinner tonight though. They gave me a lunch portion of sesame Tofu and ZERO vegetables. Usually this meal comes with mixed steeped vegetables. Also I paid extra for fried rice and it’s basically white rice with soy sauce. Not fried rice flavor at all. 😞

Presentation and service are always on point, but if I'm being honest here, the food is a little overhyped. Dont get me wrong, it is good.... and I'm definitely eating here again, but above all else, it's simple Chinese food, and there's nothing exciting about it... You can taste that the cook is just going through the motions and lost the desire to cook. It's really the only way I can describe the plates that I've ordered. I really want to be supportive of this establishment and I can only hope that the cook regains his composer and falls back in love with culinary enlightenment because I can smell talent and I'm here for it, Stay blessed!

The food is good. The service was pleasant. It just took forever to get a basic curry lunch and a coffee, 30 mins+. The couple that walked in after me was almost done with their lunch by the time I asked to have my meal packed to go.

Fried rice mushy and no flavor. Something is just off about this place. The rest of the food didn’t taste good either. Wasted my money and ruined my appetite.

Don't waste your money on the wontons. It's all won and no ton. It should be a crime punishable by death to serve wontons with no cheese, I got more cheese in my toes than the wontons do. The quality of this place has gone downhill fast over the last couple of years. I gave them another chance and after the order I just got my business will no longer be with this establishment.

Extremely rude they hung up the phone on me because they tried to tell me that Uber eats would refund my order which was canceled within 1 minute of the order being placed, and because they supposedly made the whole meal already within a minute I was charged $2 less than the total of the order and was not informed that I would basically be charged for the order anyway upon cancelation. They then told me that I had to call Uber eats customer support to get a refund which I did 4 different times every single customer service representative informed me that spicy basil was keeping my money because they had already made the product and that it was a waste of their food however when I call spicy basil they tell me that they didn't keep the money they don't know where it went so uber's lying to me?
They continued to lie and say that the food was already made and that it was wasted I wanted to know how you make chicken Katsu and 40 seconds because that's impossible unless it's pre-made. So rude the lady hung up on me when I called back she laughed did not seem to care at all didn't even consider giving me a credit for the same meal just decided they'd take my $17 and did not care two ways about it. Do not go here the food is overly fatty and sugary anyway there's so many better places to get Chinese food anywhere really.

They now outsource all deliveries. I did not get mine and had to charge back Uber Eats. For a Happy Family lunch special: $13.50 for the meal plus tax. Spicy Basil charge $5 for the take out, Uber $1 tip $3. Spicy Basil is too greedy imo.

They put sushi ginger... Also ordered golden tofu which wasn't crispy and was fried with eggs, which they didn't used to do before.

Needless to say didn't take any of the leftovers home. The lady there is often rude and impatient too. This sadly wasn't the first time we had issues with their food or service and the last time just did it for us and won't be making a trip there anymore.

Green curry is a watery undercooked atrocity. Thought I’d keep it short and sweet.

I had Spicy Basil Shrimp, which had no spicy to it at all. The sauce was very watery, so i assume the flavor had been watered down. Decent taste, but nothing i would have again. The Gyoza had amazing flavor and that i would definitely order again.

I cannot recommend the calamari. Mostly batter. Entrees were tasty and large servings. They appear to mostly have take out business which keeps the small staff too busy to be able to serve dine in customers very well. Next time, we order take out.

Most of their food is pretty good, but I would not recommend anything fried in batter. You definitely don't get much meat in any entrée that breaded. The curries are good, but stay away from everything fried- it's a waste of money.

Not a place I'm going out of my way to visit.
This place is probably best for delivery or takeout if you live in the area.

I ordered delivery from here. When my food arrived, my tempura shrimp & vegetables were drenched and soggy. They added a sauce with my order, but didn’t close the lid, so all the sauce spilled out & ruined it. Try eating wet, soggy tempura & see if you like it. NASTY !!

And this is why we would rather go to Panda Express. The portions don’t match the price.

Super disappointed in my to go order the spring rolls literally had nothing in them, the broccoli beef literally had 5 small pieces of meat. And the sesame chicken had no sesame seeds on it.

The owners are incredible!! The food is fantastic!

Over cooked over salty over sauced. Miniscule broccoli was literally cooked into the sauce where the picture showed large fresh pieces. Sesame tofu once taken out of all the extra sauce was delicious.
There was a hair in the egg roll container so did not eat those but they were dark and shrunken from overfrying anyway.

I’ve been eating here for years, always great food. My usual is General Tao’s chicken, which I always order extra spicy. The regular recipe is too sweet, I find that “extra spicy” is what I enjoy the most.

However, my last order which was carry out…my General Tso’s was WAY too spicy. I couldn’t eat it, and I enjoy some heat. Don’t know if it’s a new chef, but it wasn’t the same dish I’ve been enjoying for years.

I’ll try again, but if I get a repeat of inedible food, I’ll likely start going elsewhere in the future.

Ordered from here yesterday, and this was our experience with the food:

Gyoza seemed to be deep fried, as the dough had the texture of funnel cake.

The sweet & sour chicken was way too overcooked- some pieces were even burnt.

The miso soup was decent, but a bit tangy.

The eggdrop soup had an alarming sour taste to it.

The yaki udon was ok, have had better, but it had the least issues and is the reason this is 2 stars instead of 1.

Honestly, I don't think we'll ever order from here again. Every single dish was mediocre at best, and the quality just seemed very poor overall. Even if the cook on the food was better, the quality of the product itself just seemed very cheap.

Spicy Basil is the perfect combo of very savory Eastern food and efficient service. It was a staple for me during COVID and remains one of my go too when I am craving for Chinese, Vietnamese or Thai prepared in a very tasty manner, in generous portions and by a great team of people.

For all of my dashers out there took over 20 minutes for my order to be ready, just a heads up for a place to avoid.

June 2023: Would never order again. To management: recreate your menu to include only dishes the kitchen can cook well. Many of the one-star reviews all are about the same foods. I had the absolute the worst Thai food in the Denver metro here. Placed a DoorDash order and I regret using my $5 credit on this order. The Chinese food was ok but the pad Thai and pad selew noodles were dry, stuck together, and unseasoned. The Pad Thai must have been cooked w food coloring because it looked red but tasted like …nothing. Don’t waste your time or money. Decor and atmosphere means nothing at a restaurant that has terrible food.

I ordered through Uber eats and they had a great deal of buy one get one free for the gyoza and shumai. I got 16 pcs of gyoza for $5.95 which I was very happy about considering other places give you 5 pieces for that much. Great food, fried rice was very tasty too.

We needed somewhere to eat nearby, and this place came up on the old googs. Everything we got (peanut chicken, peanut curry, pepper steak) was incredibly good! The portions were huge also - the leftovers easily made a second meal. Highly recommend. If you’ve gotten door dash from here you may like it even better if you get it fresh from the kitchen.

Sesame chicken was delicious! The restaurant was nice with the exception of food splatter all over the wall at the booth we sat in.

Hands down some of the worst food I’ve ever had. Easy to tell that the beef and chicken are not actually real, some kind of unsavory alternative. Immediately felt sick and had to go to bed to not throw up. “Thai Peanut Noodles” were gloopy and unseasoned, with thick, over cooked noodles. I agree with every review that said that it was $40 down the the toilet, or in my case, very nearly literally down the toilet. So glad we’re not the only ones who had these feelings, but I truly hate to write a bad review of a restaurant. I would not recommend eating here to my worst enemy, which is the only reason I would ever write such a review. This is a warning and a sign to avoid Spicy Basil at all costs.

The sesame chicken was so dry some pieces weren't chewable and had to be spit out. The drunken chicken was too spicy to eat. Only one fortune cookie in the bag for two entrees ordered. Overall disappointing. I hate to leave bad reviews but I don't want to mistakenly order from here again.

Pretty Average, I had the Lo Mein with beef and the food didn’t meet my expectations, wanted to be very optimistic, but it was not good

Ordered from them for the first time last night and my girlfriend and I have been up all night with food poisoning. Never again.

Chicken was soggy but bearable, Lo mein was bland, fried rice was terrible. BUT the beef with broccoli was pretty good but more broccoli then beef is a act agents god that can’t be justified.

I’ve eaten here probably over 10 times. The sesame chicken and peanut curry are to DIE for!! The woman who runs the FOH is absolutely incredible. Top tier service and I always go home with a super full belly :)

It was the worst Thai food I ever tried. It didn’t even taste like traditional Thai dishes. It was just noodles with chicken ( no sauce). The worst.

We made reservations on Christmas Eve. When we arrived there were only two tables occupied. We waited to be seated while food delivery drivers came to the front to pick up orders. There was a gentleman who was on the phone non stop while a female came from the kitchen yelling and screaming orders were correct despite those waiting saying their were errors. We didn't feel comfortable that we were never recognized or acknowledged that we made the effort to make reservations. Because the staff was so rude, we left and went next door to a seafood restaurant. I am not willing to give Spicy Basil another try because of the rude service.

This place made me super sick. Got food poisoning after picking a to-go order on Xmas-Eve. Huge mistake. After placing the order I received an email almost immediately that it was ready. My guess is that they cook large portions that probably sit out for a while or possibly under a heat lamp. Clearly this place is not following proper food-safety procedures and I would not wish how I feel today on Xmas on my worst enemy. #nevergoingback

In ordered green curry and tempura. Super let down. My curry was the consistency of soup and not green with some undercooked purple onions and bell pepper pieces. Chicken pieces were few and far between; undercooked as well. This dish came with no rice for $14. The tempura was incredibly crunchy. Not burned. Very stiff. You don’t need to batter them and then panko bread crumb them. It’s one or the other. Nothing about this was good or affordable, how are you still in business? See attached pictures

Food just isn’t very good here. It’s fine, but compared to any other Thai food I have had, this is the worst.

Bland decor. Cold soup. Staff is mildly interested in guests, very busy with to go orders. Will skip in the future.

Food was decent but by far the smallest portion I’ve ever received from a Chinese restaurant. Ordered Chinese for the guaranteed leftovers but disappointed they don’t exist with these guys.

My miso soup came out cold, but the rest of the food was good. I couldn't believe how rude the waitress was! She never once smiled, welcomed me, asked me if my food was okay, or showed any level of courtesy to me as a patron. I will definitely not be coming back.

Ordered DoorDash from here this evening. The fried rice was a little bland, it just needed a little soy sauce added and it was perfect. They knocked it out of the park with the General Tso’s Chicken. It’s the best I’ve had since I moved here a year ago! Great job spicy Basil!

Never been disappointed in anything I've ordered from here, but I love Spicy Basil's drunken noodles and jalapeno steak the most. Perfectly spicy and delicious.

I really wanted to like this place because of the limited Thai options near me. I have tried it twice now (different things each time) and it’s so bland and flavorless. First time sesame chicken, most recently pad Thai and coconut soup and the soup is what’s carrying this review. The soup had the most flavor But the chicken in the soup was gross and bland. The pad Thai was inedible, so plain and no peanuts or anything other than noodles and maybe 3 small pieces of lemongrass. Almost felt like it was a ketchup base. Couldn’t eat it

Food poisoning, wrong dishes (both dishes were wrong), and was delivered roughly 90 minutes later than quoted time. Still sick to stomach (after a night of 🤮), truly a zero star.

Good customer service but most of all, excellent food quality! Food was fresh and tasty. I recommend this place 💯👌

We love Spicy Basil; they’ve been our go-to for years. Tropical fried rice and sesame tofu or chicken are our favorites.

We ordered food from here through Uber Eats, and were very disappointed. My husband and I both ordered the Pad Thai, and it was inedible. It had a very strange flavor, and maybe it is just personal preference, but we could not eat it. We also ordered the Vietnamese egg rolls, and we did not like those either. Maybe dine-in is better, but we were pretty disappointed with the food we received and won't be ordering it again.

Sadly this place has gone down hill.

Everything is subpar. The hot and sour soup contains only two small shrimp.

Terrible service. Ordered red curry and the sauce was powdery indicating it wasn’t even fully mixed and came from some package instead of organically made. Red curry was also way too spicy to eat and they didn’t offer me a mild option. Spring rolls were also ridiculously thin. Would not recommend

This place deserves higher rating! The curry dishes are fabulous! I also love the chicken coconut soup! Loved everything we've gotten here. Highly recommend! It's our new go to spot!

Found this used staple in your General Tso's Chicken. That begs the question: what else is in your food that shouldn't be in food? I was pretty stoked to try Spicy Basil for the first time, but you could've sent one of us to the hospital. This was also my last time ordering from this restaurant and I'd discourage others from taking the risk. Management, clean up your act.

Pad Thai wasn't to my liking and they graciously took it off my bill. We'll be back. My mom's panang was incredible and so were the summer rolls.

Delivery is always faster than the 45 minutes quoted. The Basil Tuna raw is amazing.

Found a black curly hair in my steamed rice. The fried rice smelled weird. But the sweet and sour chicken was good.

Very inconsistent. Sometimes their delicious but it is often not edible. Tonight my entire meal went into the garbage and I ate peanut butter and jelly. Staff is also always rude. I can't help but feel like I've done something wrong when I go in there.
