OK, so Kung pao is supposed to be infused with peanuts.
I was extremely disappointed. Flavor was fine overall, but literally out of the hole batch. There was a total of six peanut halves
Come on guys if you’re gonna make the food make it right and throw in a handful of peanuts like you’re supposed to. It doesn’t cost you that much but it, but it becomes very disappointing to your customers
Not impressed
would love to hear if you’re gonna make any changes or not before I order again

We ordered from Spicy Basil through Uber Eats, so I can't speak to the dining in experience, but my girlfriend and I really enjoyed the massive portions and the great flavors of our food. We got the tropical fried rice with chicken and shrimp, the spicy basil chicken, steamed broccoli, and gyoza. After a long day of driving in the snow, this was the perfect dinner for us. Would definitely order from here again.

Diner Review №4

Worst drunken noodles I’ve had, could’ve made it better at home. Noodles were literally stuck together with no flavor

Diner Review №5

Ordered take out from here, the gyoza was awesome but the Pad Thai was terrible. It was like a tomato sauce for some reason? We also got chicken friend rice, miso and wonton soup and they were all decent. Probably won’t order from here again though.

Order from DoorDash was fast and very good as always

Diner Review №8

Diner Review №9

Great food and fast service. Price is not bad for the portions. Will recommend it.

Diner Review №10

Diner Review №11

The food was bomb af, wasn't to expensive, and the service great, our waitress was great with my kiddos! They also have adorable fans you can buy.

Diner Review №12

Order off uber eats, the fried rice was wet and mushy. The broccoli was overcooked, the shu mai tasted like it was cooked in a microwave… just not great.

Diner Review №13

BEST LOBSTER BISQUE IN TOWN, WELL WORTH THE PRICE!!!

Diner Review №14

Diner Review №15

They make the best sesame tofu that I’ve had anywhere. It’s really good. It’s not too sweet. They put the sauce on the side so it’s not drowning in sugar sauce and it comes with a lot of broccoli. I really love this place.

Diner Review №16

Food is very bland. No flavor. The egg drop soup , black eggs in soup. Had a deep orange color that did not look like egg drop soup . The combination fried rice no flavor. Rice was over cooked soggy. The only good thing was the miso soup . Will never go to here again .

Diner Review №17

Everything was trash from the food to the service.i wouldn't even feed the dry overcooked chicken to my dogs. As a restaurant you're garbage

Diner Review №18

Diner Review №19

This is our absolute favorite place to eat. We drive from Colorado Springs and every bite is worth it! 🤤

Diner Review №20

Good food large portions. Service was awkward but atmosphere was good.

Diner Review №21

Sadly the absolute worst Chinese take out I’ve ever ordered. Super bland and overpriced. I’m pretty forgiving with Chinese take out places but EVERYTHING was terrible so this will be our first and last time trying Spicy Basil.

Mango chicken: bland mix of soft wet chicken, mushrooms, giant chunks of green pepper, and pieces of mango.

Cream cheese wontons (aka crab Rangoon): somehow also bland, soft and chewy while still being hard on the edges. Weird.

Chicken coconut soup (aka Tom kha): very bland like half the ingredients were missing, no hint of galangal, fish sauce, lemongrass, or lime, but some weird added spice that doesn’t belong, maybe cinnamon? Disgusting.

Fried rice: seemed like they ran out of fried rice and just added a few peas and an egg to some white rice.

Egg rolls: overcooked, borderline burnt, and weird flavor.

Spicy edamame: the garlic/spice is good but it was dry almost like it was reheated or just a bag of frozen edamame microwaved then tossed in spices. At least it wasn’t bland like everything else.

Diner Review №22

I finally found my go-to Chinese food place since moving from the south. I’ve been on the search for 3 years now, and they are the closest I’ve found to home. Will be a loyal customer from here on out!

Diner Review №23

Diner Review №24

Friends and I were in the mood for Chinese food so we came here and it's very delicious!

The portion size is huge and able to split it into 2-3 days.

I got the shrimp and fried rice.
I loved it, but I wish there were some more shrimp since protein is important to have.

I'll be back for sure, I just wish there were nurtition information available.

Diner Review №27

So far I’ve had the sesame chicken, general tso chicken, dumplings and satay chicken with peanut sauce. All of it is so delicious! Highly recommend. Love the Mongolian Beef too!

Diner Review №28

Got a take out food is bland!!! Some are under cooked not worth it!! Look at this sizzling beef there is nothing sizzling about it!! More like soggy sunken beef. Would not recommend!!!

Diner Review №29

If you have taste buds and are familiar with Thai food, DON'T come here.
Food is bland, and shortcut, I ordered a Summer roll and it came with slivers of shrimp, romaine and all noodles, no herbs. The peanut sauce was ok.
And I got attitude when I questioned the food.

Also the calamari was supposed to be "lightly breaded" not the case.

Diner Review №30

Got takeout and it was absolutely inedible. Just gross, unfortunately.

Diner Review №31

Diner Review №32

Horrible. Pad Thai tastes like bad spaghetti and has no sauce. Drunken noodles barely have any sauce and are equally disappointing. Appetizers were underwhelming. Absolutely avoid this place.

Diner Review №33

Diner Review №34

Diner Review №35

I can't get over how affordable this place is for the giant portions of delicious food you get. Perfect before a Gothic Theater show!

Diner Review №36

Very elegant and outstanding service. The servers were very friendly and straightforward.

Medford parking lot

Diner Review №39

The 2 locations of Spicy basil are my favorite Vietnamese food in Denver

Diner Review №40

I was craving Chinese food, good Chinese food and this place was awesome! The service was lovely (thank you Yuan), the sweet and sour chicken was some of the best I've ever had and the veggies with it were fresh and well prepared, the Vietnamese coffee was not rushed and it was oh so good. I'd definitely come back and try more dishes. The price point is impossibly incredible too. What a lunch! Thank you!!!

Diner Review №41

Diner Review №42

Diner Review №43

I have been coming here for a long time. I was very upset with my dinner tonight though. They gave me a lunch portion of sesame Tofu and ZERO vegetables. Usually this meal comes with mixed steeped vegetables. Also I paid extra for fried rice and it’s basically white rice with soy sauce. Not fried rice flavor at all. 😞

Diner Review №44

Ordered the Drunken Noodles- it was the single worst dish I have ever had. Would not recommend this place!

Diner Review №45

Diner Review №46

Diner Review №47

Staff is sooo rude..... To bad as I will not return! They're very rude to the drivers picking up food too. Food is so good though. Long time customer lost! Ruined my appetite when they placed my dine in order and served it to me in a to-go box... Walked out!

Diner Review №48

Was charged $5 for sauce on the side instead of on to keep food from getting soggy. Was told they gave us extra sauce.

Diner Review №49

Food was okay and came out in big portions, definitely a good amount for the price. The staff weren’t unkind but they were a little pushy with ordering, even though we were the only ones in the restaurant at the time.

Diner Review №50

I recently ordered the KU Pong chicken, and it was deliciously spicy! The food was great and just the right amount for one person. Even as a spicy food lover, I found the hot chili slowly burns your mouth in a delightful way. The atmosphere is great, with plenty of space to enjoy your meal comfortably. My only complaint is that they don't have Wi-Fi, though it's not a major issue. Overall, highly recommend!

Diner Review №51

Diner Review №52

Presentation and service are always on point, but if I'm being honest here, the food is a little overhyped. Dont get me wrong, it is good.... and I'm definitely eating here again, but above all else, it's simple Chinese food, and there's nothing exciting about it... You can taste that the cook is just going through the motions and lost the desire to cook. It's really the only way I can describe the plates that I've ordered. I really want to be supportive of this establishment and I can only hope that the cook regains his composer and falls back in love with culinary enlightenment because I can smell talent and I'm here for it, Stay blessed!

Diner Review №53

Ordered chicken and broccoli..I specifically told her no carrots..and there were carrots everywhere. Not to mention warm soda..I will not be vack

Diner Review №54

The food is good. The service was pleasant. It just took forever to get a basic curry lunch and a coffee, 30 mins+. The couple that walked in after me was almost done with their lunch by the time I asked to have my meal packed to go.

Diner Review №55

The food & service is always great!

Diner Review №56

Run.

Diner Review №57

Chef did the impossible - he managed to make Thai food flavorless and tasteless

Diner Review №58

Fried rice mushy and no flavor. Something is just off about this place. The rest of the food didn’t taste good either. Wasted my money and ruined my appetite.

Diner Review №59

Don't waste your money on the wontons. It's all won and no ton. It should be a crime punishable by death to serve wontons with no cheese, I got more cheese in my toes than the wontons do. The quality of this place has gone downhill fast over the last couple of years. I gave them another chance and after the order I just got my business will no longer be with this establishment.

Diner Review №60

Extremely rude they hung up the phone on me because they tried to tell me that Uber eats would refund my order which was canceled within 1 minute of the order being placed, and because they supposedly made the whole meal already within a minute I was charged $2 less than the total of the order and was not informed that I would basically be charged for the order anyway upon cancelation. They then told me that I had to call Uber eats customer support to get a refund which I did 4 different times every single customer service representative informed me that spicy basil was keeping my money because they had already made the product and that it was a waste of their food however when I call spicy basil they tell me that they didn't keep the money they don't know where it went so uber's lying to me?
They continued to lie and say that the food was already made and that it was wasted I wanted to know how you make chicken Katsu and 40 seconds because that's impossible unless it's pre-made. So rude the lady hung up on me when I called back she laughed did not seem to care at all didn't even consider giving me a credit for the same meal just decided they'd take my $17 and did not care two ways about it. Do not go here the food is overly fatty and sugary anyway there's so many better places to get Chinese food anywhere really.

Diner Review №61

Food is Delicious, but it doesn't change the fact that the staff was extremely rude. They make eating in a almost uncomfortable with the rudeness.

Diner Review №62

Friendly staff and absolutely delicious food!!

Diner Review №63

Mmmmm....so good!

Diner Review №64

I don't personally love all Thai food however this place is pretty great. I feel like it's medium level Thai food. But they stay busy and the staff are professional and polite. I'm there quite often picking up food and they always have business.

Diner Review №65

Despicable customer service. Very racist and abrasive. I had experienced before but wanted to give it a second chance. They failed miserably. If you look like me, do yourself a favor and stay away from this place. The food is not worth the disrespect. Grab a tv dinner. Same thing.

Diner Review №66

Perfection. Like everything was perfect and then some. (I got the veggie and chicken lo mein)

Diner Review №67

Diner Review №68

Fabulous panang curry - the chicken was delicious and the curry was so spicy it was phenomenal

Diner Review №69

You have got to try Spicy Basil!!!!

Diner Review №70

They now outsource all deliveries. I did not get mine and had to charge back Uber Eats. For a Happy Family lunch special: $13.50 for the meal plus tax. Spicy Basil charge $5 for the take out, Uber $1 tip $3. Spicy Basil is too greedy imo.

Too bad. This kind of business decision is fraught with issues. They can't correct the delivery person and turn this around.

Have no idea how to rate food I didn't receive.

Diner Review №71

They always have fresh tasty food.

Diner Review №72

DoorDash delivery and the food was hot but super dry and mushy in a really bad way. And despite asking multiple times for Utensils via the app none were included and I had no way to eat the meal. Total waste of $30. Food was inedible regardless.

Diner Review №73

Diner Review №74

Went here for lunch, their ice water was very clean! The Purple Haze Saki was amazing! Ate the Whiskey Beef and Sweet n Sour Chicken all very good!

Diner Review №75

Diner Review №76

Diner Review №77

Diner Review №78

Soggy, salty and mushy fried rice. No wonder the place is empty. I will not be coming back.

Diner Review №79

Fried rice had no flavor and was soggy.

Diner Review №80

Sooooooo good. All of it. Highly recommend the drunken noodles and potstickers!

Diner Review №81

Diner Review №82

Update: Sadly this place went downhill and horribly so. Last food we had was spicy basil fried rice with chicken, which was soggy and clumped up, red curry which was just spicy with barely any other flavor, and some chicken dish with ginger, which was requested with extra ginger. They put sushi ginger... Also ordered golden tofu which wasn't crispy and was fried with eggs, which they didn't used to do before.

Needless to say didn't take any of the leftovers home. The lady there is often rude and impatient too. This sadly wasn't the first time we had issues with their food or service and the last time just did it for us and won't be making a trip there anymore.

Long time ago....:
They always serve delicious food quickly and they're always so nice and friendly. Never had a dish that wasn't less than excellent. Clean, quiet atmosphere that's always welcoming. Highly recommend it. Worth the fuss over parking!

Diner Review №83

The food was not even edible. The fried rice was flavorless, soggy and mushy. The egg rolls were also soggy and chewy. Poor excuse for spicy edamame. Would never recommend this place. Don’t waste your time or money.

Diner Review №84

Green curry is a watery undercooked atrocity. Thought I’d keep it short and sweet.

Diner Review №85

I had Spicy Basil Shrimp, which had no spicy to it at all. The sauce was very watery, so i assume the flavor had been watered down. Decent taste, but nothing i would have again. The Gyoza had amazing flavor and that i would definitely order again.

Diner Review №86

Diner Review №87

I had this door dashed and the food was great

Diner Review №88

Diner Review №89

Good portions and fair prices. Overall, pretty decent.

Diner Review №90

We ordered some shrimp fried rice and the shrimp was not cleaned at all. You could see all the shrimp feces, membrane.

Diner Review №91

This is the absolute worst place to pick up any type of doordash as the owner sucks and is a completely in a bad mood all the time don't get your food from this trash place with horrible customer service. Again keep this in mind I'm a doordash driver I would not even pick my food up there let alone let him make it!!

Diner Review №92

Wonton soup-🌟🌟🌟-no spoon
Chicken fried rice 🌟-mush-no fork
no napkins
Fortune cookie-🌟- no fortune
Seriously tho🤦🏻‍♀️

Diner Review №93

SO GOOD! The best spicy edamame! I’ve been looking for good spicy edamame and a good egg drop soup and this place has it! I loved the spinach cream cheese wontons! The curry coming vegetarian as well was really good! I was really very impressed!!! Very fast service too!!

Diner Review №94

HYGIENE - staff person clearly had a cold. She was coughing and blowing her nose. She did not wash her hands after blowing her nose. I was so icked out! Never going there again. Food and service ok.

Diner Review №95

Three hours for delivery. Completely cold. Not delivery apps fault. I went thru two drivers because the restaurant took so long. Pad Thai tasted like dry peanuts. Gyoza and potstickers were a waste because so cold. Veggies in garlic sauce were gross. Sauce was so overdone. Defeated the purpose of veggies.

Diner Review №96

Meh. I'm from San Francisco and know Asian food pretty well. This place does serve generous portions at a decent price, however, Pad Se Lew had no sauce whatsoever. I had to pour the sauce from the Shumai appetizer onto the Pad Se Lew. Will possibly give it anoter chance. If you order for pick up, the lot is tiny and usually always full. Had to park at King Soopers across the street.

Diner Review №97

Diner Review №98

Ordered a shrimp dish and it was good but they put so much sauce it looked like a soup and were stingy with the shrimp.

Diner Review №99

Ordered pad Thai for delivery and there was mold on the chicken 🤢 when I called in the host was rude and dismissive saying “we’ve never had any issue like that.” Never coming here again and recommend that you don’t either.

Diner Review №100

The food was over cooked, over spiced, and the tofu tasted spoiled.

Diner Review №101

I cannot recommend the calamari. Mostly batter. Entrees were tasty and large servings. They appear to mostly have take out business which keeps the small staff too busy to be able to serve dine in customers very well. Next time, we order take out.

Diner Review №102

The pad thai and coconut soup were totally flavorless. No spices in food

Diner Review №103

Always have great prices, quality food, fast service.

Diner Review №104

Diner Review №105

What a find! I ordered the Spicy Basil Chicken and it was delicious. The serving size was HUGE. I have leftovers for several meals. It tasted fresh and had a nice spice.

Diner Review №106

This is our very favorite Thai restaurant.
It is consistently delicious, with the best prices.

Diner Review №107

I love you spicy basil

Diner Review №108

Never order delivery from here. Food was never received. Uber Eats scam.

Diner Review №109

This place is awesome. Every item on the menu is absolutely delicious. Food is cooked fresh and is served quickly and for great price. Highly recommend

Diner Review №110

Amazing, so much food, for a great price, service there is stellar 🤩

Diner Review №111

Diner Review №112

Most of their food is pretty good, but I would not recommend anything fried in batter. You definitely don't get much meat in any entrée that breaded. The curries are good, but stay away from everything fried- it's a waste of money.

Diner Review №113

The location was a pain due to all the road construction. Driving through the area I decided to stop in on my way home.
Not a place I'm going out of my way to visit.
This place is probably best for delivery or takeout if you live in the area.
Crispy egg rolls were disappointing.
The peanut Thai curry was okay, not bad, not great.

Diner Review №114

I ordered delivery from here. When my food arrived, my tempura shrimp & vegetables were drenched and soggy. They added a sauce with my order, but didn’t close the lid, so all the sauce spilled out & ruined it. Try eating wet, soggy tempura & see if you like it. NASTY !!

Diner Review №115

And this is why we would rather go to Panda Express. The portions don’t match the price.

Diner Review №116

❌😇

Diner Review №117

Diner Review №118

Great food and amazing presentation

Diner Review №119

Good 👍 good service 👏

Diner Review №120

We ordered beef and broccoli, sweet and sour chicken, and spicy shrimp fried rice and all of it was absolutely delicious. We will be returning. Thanks!

Diner Review №121

Super disappointed in my to go order the spring rolls literally had nothing in them, the broccoli beef literally had 5 small pieces of meat. And the sesame chicken had no sesame seeds on it.

Diner Review №122

Diner Review №123

The owners are incredible!! The food is fantastic!

Diner Review №124

Over cooked over salty over sauced. Miniscule broccoli was literally cooked into the sauce where the picture showed large fresh pieces. Sesame tofu once taken out of all the extra sauce was delicious.
There was a hair in the egg roll container so did not eat those but they were dark and shrunken from overfrying anyway.

Diner Review №125

I’ve been eating here for years, always great food. My usual is General Tao’s chicken, which I always order extra spicy. The regular recipe is too sweet, I find that “extra spicy” is what I enjoy the most.

However, my last order which was carry out…my General Tso’s was WAY too spicy. I couldn’t eat it, and I enjoy some heat. Don’t know if it’s a new chef, but it wasn’t the same dish I’ve been enjoying for years.

I’ll try again, but if I get a repeat of inedible food, I’ll likely start going elsewhere in the future.

Diner Review №126

Diner Review №127

I have been coming here for years. It's always delicious, made with high quality ingredients, and is reasonably priced. Best Chinese food in town! Sesame chicken to die for :)

Diner Review №128

Diner Review №129

Diner Review №130

Ordered from here yesterday, and this was our experience with the food:

Gyoza seemed to be deep fried, as the dough had the texture of funnel cake.

The sweet & sour chicken was way too overcooked- some pieces were even burnt.

The miso soup was decent, but a bit tangy.

The eggdrop soup had an alarming sour taste to it.

The yaki udon was ok, have had better, but it had the least issues and is the reason this is 2 stars instead of 1.

Honestly, I don't think we'll ever order from here again. Every single dish was mediocre at best, and the quality just seemed very poor overall. Even if the cook on the food was better, the quality of the product itself just seemed very cheap.

Diner Review №131

Diner Review №132

Spicy Basil is the perfect combo of very savory Eastern food and efficient service. It was a staple for me during COVID and remains one of my go too when I am craving for Chinese, Vietnamese or Thai prepared in a very tasty manner, in generous portions and by a great team of people.

Diner Review №133

For all of my dashers out there took over 20 minutes for my order to be ready, just a heads up for a place to avoid.

Diner Review №134

June 2023: Would never order again. To management: recreate your menu to include only dishes the kitchen can cook well. Many of the one-star reviews all are about the same foods. I had the absolute the worst Thai food in the Denver metro here. Placed a DoorDash order and I regret using my $5 credit on this order. The Chinese food was ok but the pad Thai and pad selew noodles were dry, stuck together, and unseasoned. The Pad Thai must have been cooked w food coloring because it looked red but tasted like …nothing. Don’t waste your time or money. Decor and atmosphere means nothing at a restaurant that has terrible food.

Diner Review №135

After trying food from this establishment twice, I won’t return. The food is subpar in taste. I found the food to not be cooked with care. The prices are decent for the food and portions they serve. The customer service was good.

Diner Review №136

Good service, good food, clean, had a lot of takeout orders and pick up (Grubb Hub or whatever) Will definitely be back. Bill was only $53 with 2 dinners, drinks, and desert

Diner Review №137

I ordered through Uber eats and they had a great deal of buy one get one free for the gyoza and shumai. I got 16 pcs of gyoza for $5.95 which I was very happy about considering other places give you 5 pieces for that much. Great food, fried rice was very tasty too.

Diner Review №138

We needed somewhere to eat nearby, and this place came up on the old googs. Everything we got (peanut chicken, peanut curry, pepper steak) was incredibly good! The portions were huge also - the leftovers easily made a second meal. Highly recommend. If you’ve gotten door dash from here you may like it even better if you get it fresh from the kitchen.

Diner Review №139

The pad Thai had no flavor in it and the chicken seemed undercooked. The hot and sour soup was CHUNKY with big globs of gelatin/mucus looking that I’ve never ever seen in a hot and sour soup. No flavor for that as well. I am very disappointed in the quality of this food and the flavor. I won’t be ordering again.

Diner Review №140

Diner Review №141

*sigh*
I wanted to like this place because it has decent prices (especially compared to the adjacent crab shack) and is decently close to where I live. What a cool little spot! The food tasted *fine*, but it wasn’t really exceptional. “Mango” chicken had pieces of mango, but the sauce by itself had nothing to do with Mango. The spicy beef was tender and delicious, but again not exceptional. Spring roll was kind of bland, but it had an okay crunch. We asked for steamed rice and got fried rice; we were told the fried shrimp was made in house and was massive, and what we got was just… hm. Not worth the price, I think.

Staff was friendly and kind, knowledgeable and decisive. We liked her!

Music was a bit loud over the speakers, and we were there for lunch hour but only a couple other tables were filled in the sizable space.

Sad to say that we’ll probably pop over to Aung’s instead (though perhaps they are different markets altogether, so maybe it doesn’t matter). The food just wasn’t notable for good aspects for the most part.

Diner Review №142

Sesame chicken was delicious! The restaurant was nice with the exception of food splatter all over the wall at the booth we sat in.

Diner Review №143

Hands down some of the worst food I’ve ever had. Easy to tell that the beef and chicken are not actually real, some kind of unsavory alternative. Immediately felt sick and had to go to bed to not throw up. “Thai Peanut Noodles” were gloopy and unseasoned, with thick, over cooked noodles. I agree with every review that said that it was $40 down the the toilet, or in my case, very nearly literally down the toilet. So glad we’re not the only ones who had these feelings, but I truly hate to write a bad review of a restaurant. I would not recommend eating here to my worst enemy, which is the only reason I would ever write such a review. This is a warning and a sign to avoid Spicy Basil at all costs.

Diner Review №144

Watery panang curry, chunky undercooked vegetables, sinewy chicken. The flavor was mediocre.

Diner Review №145

Nice place for Chinese food. However, the Kung pao was sweet. The veggie roll was a bit thin. The egg drop soup was nice. The tirisumi dessert was great. Service was standard. Close to my office. Need to support local businesses. I recommend visiting this restaurant.

Diner Review №146

Diner Review №147

Pad thai had some weird red sauce and no flavor barely edible

Diner Review №148

Chewy unrecognizable chicken-like meat. Flavor, horrible, never to return. Nice clean looking restaurant though.

Diner Review №149

It was pretty tasty. The place was pretty clean. The service was good and everything was served hot and fast.

Diner Review №150

The sesame chicken was so dry some pieces weren't chewable and had to be spit out. The drunken chicken was too spicy to eat. Only one fortune cookie in the bag for two entrees ordered. Overall disappointing. I hate to leave bad reviews but I don't want to mistakenly order from here again.

Diner Review №151

Pretty Average, I had the Lo Mein with beef and the food didn’t meet my expectations, wanted to be very optimistic, but it was not good

Diner Review №152

Ordered from them for the first time last night and my girlfriend and I have been up all night with food poisoning. Never again.

Diner Review №153

Chicken was soggy but bearable, Lo mein was bland, fried rice was terrible. BUT the beef with broccoli was pretty good but more broccoli then beef is a act agents god that can’t be justified.

Diner Review №154

I’ve eaten here probably over 10 times. The sesame chicken and peanut curry are to DIE for!! The woman who runs the FOH is absolutely incredible. Top tier service and I always go home with a super full belly :)

Diner Review №155

It was the worst Thai food I ever tried. It didn’t even taste like traditional Thai dishes. It was just noodles with chicken ( no sauce). The worst.

Diner Review №156

Diner Review №157

We made reservations on Christmas Eve. When we arrived there were only two tables occupied. We waited to be seated while food delivery drivers came to the front to pick up orders. There was a gentleman who was on the phone non stop while a female came from the kitchen yelling and screaming orders were correct despite those waiting saying their were errors. We didn't feel comfortable that we were never recognized or acknowledged that we made the effort to make reservations. Because the staff was so rude, we left and went next door to a seafood restaurant. I am not willing to give Spicy Basil another try because of the rude service.

Diner Review №158

This place made me super sick. Got food poisoning after picking a to-go order on Xmas-Eve. Huge mistake. After placing the order I received an email almost immediately that it was ready. My guess is that they cook large portions that probably sit out for a while or possibly under a heat lamp. Clearly this place is not following proper food-safety procedures and I would not wish how I feel today on Xmas on my worst enemy. #nevergoingback

Diner Review №159

I got food poisoning and nearly had to go to the hospital. Highly do not recommend.

Diner Review №160

Diner Review №161

In ordered green curry and tempura. Super let down. My curry was the consistency of soup and not green with some undercooked purple onions and bell pepper pieces. Chicken pieces were few and far between; undercooked as well. This dish came with no rice for $14. The tempura was incredibly crunchy. Not burned. Very stiff. You don’t need to batter them and then panko bread crumb them. It’s one or the other. Nothing about this was good or affordable, how are you still in business? See attached pictures

Diner Review №162

My favorite restaurant!! Great food every time and very reasonably priced!

Diner Review №163

Best Thai spot in the neighborhood. The peanut sauce curry is amazing

Diner Review №164

Food just isn’t very good here. It’s fine, but compared to any other Thai food I have had, this is the worst.

Diner Review №165

Bland decor. Cold soup. Staff is mildly interested in guests, very busy with to go orders. Will skip in the future.

Diner Review №166

Food was decent but by far the smallest portion I’ve ever received from a Chinese restaurant. Ordered Chinese for the guaranteed leftovers but disappointed they don’t exist with these guys.

Diner Review №167

My miso soup came out cold, but the rest of the food was good. I couldn't believe how rude the waitress was! She never once smiled, welcomed me, asked me if my food was okay, or showed any level of courtesy to me as a patron. I will definitely not be coming back.

Diner Review №168

Diner Review №169

Ordered DoorDash from here this evening. The fried rice was a little bland, it just needed a little soy sauce added and it was perfect. They knocked it out of the park with the General Tso’s Chicken. It’s the best I’ve had since I moved here a year ago! Great job spicy Basil!

Diner Review №170

Delicious food, every time

Diner Review №171

One of my favorite places to eat!

Diner Review №172

Definitely not a solid option for Thai.

Diner Review №173

My food was microwaved lol

Diner Review №174

Delivered me food poisoning in the form
Of crispy duck. Been up all night tossing and turning and throwing up

Diner Review №175

If I could give 0 stars I would. Food was the worst I've ever had I am very disappointed that I spent my money here

Diner Review №176

Never been disappointed in anything I've ordered from here, but I love Spicy Basil's drunken noodles and jalapeno steak the most. Perfectly spicy and delicious.

I really wanted to like this place because of the limited Thai options near me. I have tried it twice now (different things each time) and it’s so bland and flavorless. First time sesame chicken, most recently pad Thai and coconut soup and the soup is what’s carrying this review. The soup had the most flavor But the chicken in the soup was gross and bland. The pad Thai was inedible, so plain and no peanuts or anything other than noodles and maybe 3 small pieces of lemongrass. Almost felt like it was a ketchup base. Couldn’t eat it

Diner Review №179

Food poisoning, wrong dishes (both dishes were wrong), and was delivered roughly 90 minutes later than quoted time. Still sick to stomach (after a night of 🤮), truly a zero star.

Diner Review №180

Good customer service but most of all, excellent food quality! Food was fresh and tasty. I recommend this place 💯👌

Diner Review №181

We love Spicy Basil; they’ve been our go-to for years. Tropical fried rice and sesame tofu or chicken are our favorites.

Diner Review №182

We ordered food from here through Uber Eats, and were very disappointed. My husband and I both ordered the Pad Thai, and it was inedible. It had a very strange flavor, and maybe it is just personal preference, but we could not eat it. We also ordered the Vietnamese egg rolls, and we did not like those either. Maybe dine-in is better, but we were pretty disappointed with the food we received and won't be ordering it again.

Sadly this place has gone down hill.

We ordered Thai hot and sour soup, drunken noodle and Panang curry.

Everything is subpar. The hot and sour soup contains only two small shrimp.

Too bad, they are in a good location.

Diner Review №187

Terrible service. Ordered red curry and the sauce was powdery indicating it wasn’t even fully mixed and came from some package instead of organically made. Red curry was also way too spicy to eat and they didn’t offer me a mild option. Spring rolls were also ridiculously thin. Would not recommend

Always delicious!

This place deserves higher rating! The curry dishes are fabulous! I also love the chicken coconut soup! Loved everything we've gotten here. Highly recommend! It's our new go to spot!

Diner Review №192

Very chill, super good Pad Thai and Green Curry. We love to walk here when we get a craving for Thai food and it’s always satisfying

Found this used staple in your General Tso's Chicken. That begs the question: what else is in your food that shouldn't be in food? I was pretty stoked to try Spicy Basil for the first time, but you could've sent one of us to the hospital. This was also my last time ordering from this restaurant and I'd discourage others from taking the risk. Management, clean up your act.

Diner Review №196

Pad Thai wasn't to my liking and they graciously took it off my bill. We'll be back. My mom's panang was incredible and so were the summer rolls.

Diner Review №197

Delivery is always faster than the 45 minutes quoted. The Basil Tuna raw is amazing.

Found a black curly hair in my steamed rice. The fried rice smelled weird. But the sweet and sour chicken was good.

Diner Review №200

Very inconsistent. Sometimes their delicious but it is often not edible. Tonight my entire meal went into the garbage and I ate peanut butter and jelly. Staff is also always rude. I can't help but feel like I've done something wrong when I go in there.
