Amazing sushi hidden gem. The fish is incredibly fresh. I usually do not eat sashimi my friend is a local and he recommended I tried and I'm glad I did. tuna Toro, tuna belly, salmon scallops were all wonderful. On weekends they have music. They do sake time shots.

Food has never let us down. I usually get OMG roll which is so big and moist and also the crab salad which is huge! My wife usually gets something with yellowtail and loves it. Atmosphere is a little dull but not horrible. They had a musician a couple times and that was great! Asian guy singing rock classics, so good!

BUT.... The food... meh. Here's why...

The sushi... WAAAY TOO EXPENSIVE, and not my style. Everything was warm, Like A peculiar kind of room temperature warm. We got a California roll and a Eel Avocado cut roll just to try. Meh. Both were nothing special. 6 pieces each. I didn't taste the eel at all, and it got drowned in mush by the Avocado. The California roll wasn't all that. Honestly, the ones you buy prepacked at the supermarkets are better. No joke.

Pad Thai noodle was ok. A little too much sugar/sweet for my taste. A kid might like it though?

Sizzling chicken dish was Sizzling when they bring it out. It's ok, has a Curry flavor. There's no mention of the Curry on the menu. If I would have known, I never would have ordered it. The whole dish seemed a little "mushy."

As a matter of fact, the whole experience today seemed a little mushy. Most of the lights were on, but the place felt very under lit. When you walk in the door, I just felt like the whole place needed a shower.

I remember this place being okay before the pandemic. Maybe I'll wait another year and then come back and try to review it again.

I highly recommend Red Ginger. The sushi was great. The service was great. The staff was very friendly and the sushi chef was helpful and made good recommendations. The place has a very low-key atmosphere and was not super busy when we were there, Wednesday early evening. Apparently they do a lot of takeout. We'll definitely be back. Thanks Red Ginger!👍🏽😁

Food was ok but they price gouge here. It felt borderline disrespectful for the portion sizes + ambience. I was just hungry… i would’ve gone to sugar fish if I knew these prices beforehand lol. In Woodland Hills!

Crunchy Rice Spicy Tuna!! i love this dish and order it everywhere I go, and it is SO GOOD at Red Ginger! They're on GrubHub now, so you can get them delivered. Do it!!! and get the crunchy rice spicy tuna YUMMMMM!

This is hands down, the best sushi place, I have ever been to. I used to go to Tomoya, Akamora, and I have driven by Red Ginger almost daily for years but never went in. Wow, wow wow wow this place is amazing. Their albacore is insane, salmon sushi is a 10 out of 10, and their red snapper was amazing. Try it all with green onion and ponzu sauce. I will be coming back weekly!!!

love this place, heard that a new owner will be running it soon hopefully my opinion does not change when the ownership changes! Right now the fish is always amazing and any recommendation they have i definitely go and try! Not cheap but I would rather come here and get the good stuff then go somewhere else a couple of times!

Not a huge place, but the food is pretty good. Have ate there ones and got food to go a few times. Parking could be tough some times, specially on weekends, but there is also plenty of street parking upfront.

Ordered the sashimi salad 1st time it's the best ever. I requested fish only not shrimp/octopus and mixed greens Sooo good can't wait to come back

My sister found a worm in her food. Only good thing was my sushi. Also considering they were extremely rude on NYE we still gave them a chance and ordered today. Really upsetting and wont be ordering from them again. Good luck guys...

Amazing sushi probably the best in town!

Jack creates some seriously good sushi dishes. Most are appropriately priced. Sometimes it difficult to bridge the language barriers with the wait staff.

Their Toro is the best in the Valley, if not all of Southern California!!

One of the best value sushi restaurants at the west end of the Valley. Great traditional sushi and rolls. And for when sushi isn't what you want there is a full menu of Thai food. Music Thursday and Saturday nights.

I've been going here since the first week they opened. It's a very comfortable neighborhood sushi restaurant. The fish is fresh and the service is outstanding. Jack will oblige with any special requests. You're no stranger when you're at Red Ginger. Really great place!

Always fresh fish and great service. I've been coming here for about a year and I have never been disappointed. My favorites are fresh scallop, salmon sushi, uni and vegetable soup.

The sushi is amazing. I had salmon, seared tuna, and albacore.

The "Eating Ventura" project continues to please the palate. Red Ginger serves up the freshest looking and tasting pad thai I've had in a coon's age. I stopped ordering pad thai a few years ago because I kept getting greasy slop. Not here.

My bride had their green curry which was equally fresh and delicious.

For dessert we ordered their famous fried banana with crunchy coconut and vanilla ice cream. I missed my share writing this review and am profoundly sad.

We will return.
