Casual spot for traditional Thai fare served in sleek, minimalist surrounds with outdoor seating.
One of my favorite places to get Thai food. I’m never disappointed. Their Pad See Thai is so delicious. Their surf and turf rice is amazing. And I love love love their sweet pork dish, the sauce they serve with it is amazing. Their lamb chops are always cooked to perfection. Plus the servers are fantastic.
Ordered from this place last night and although the entrees were delicious; the appetizers were mediocre. The Kobe beef in particular was shockingly over cooked and the portions were ridiculously tiny for $20! As seen in the photos, this was all that we received which does not look even close to the photos. I am so disappointed because this bad quality left a bad impression on the restaurant.
I decided to check out for the 1st time for my 30 minute lunch and ordered takeout to save time but when I arrived a male by the name of Gurt rudely let me know it was a flat NO to dine in. I asked why he said we could eat at the bar. I kindly let Gurt know his execution was extremely rude and the website does not state any policy of not being able to dine in takeout. I will not be coming back or recommend this place for any healthcare workers like myself who have a short limited time for lunch. I ordered the tom yum soup that I do not recommend as well, my co worker ordered chicken green beans with rice.
It used to be a good place to buy food but my last two orders have been sent wrong, since the Uber app does not have the option to choose beef as protein, so another type is selected and I always give them a note to change it to beef and they used to do it but these last 2 orders NO and another thing, my food came with some hairs in there.
I ate there a while back and the chicken in my dish was overcooked, dry and chewy. The manager was not gracious about it either. I felt bad vibes.
Very bad restaurant and service ang employees it awaste of money eating here not worth it ,I don't recommend
Last Saturday we went there to have lunch with my friends,we check online it says they closed at 3 pm and went there around 2.10 pm front desk said we closed with attitude.Very poor customer service I don’t think I ever go there again.
Online shows open until 3pm and we went around 2:10pm and they refused to give us service and front line service associate given bad attitude and poor customer service.we never going there again..
Ordered calamari, green beans and crispy whole branzino with tamarind glaze. The calamari was lightly coated and the freshness of the calamari, beans and fish were evident after cooking. Service was always attentive.
Horrible service at restaurant. Have ordered food at home and soup came with a weird white bug in it. Their delivery guys are also extremely rude and unprofessional.
Ordered vegan pad thai for a take out. Specifically mentioned NO MEAT, NO EGG.
But when I checked the noodle had eggs.
It was very disappointing. Please check your customer's notes.

THE OWNER was terrible and had an awful attitude towards her customers.
THE OWNER IS DISCRIMINATING. She treats her customers with great disrespect and rudeness. The food is good but I don’t think it’s worth the price for a restaurant that doesn’t offer respect for their PAYING customers! They are DEFINITELY NOT kind nor Friendly.

I used to live in the valley and would come here all the time. Now I live on the westside and tried 5 different Thai places near me that are walking distance and nothing comes close. I drove 30 minutes out of my way to come to Kinnara! They make the most amazing soft shell crab and add a side salad with it, it’s a soft shell crab salad! Then I get their yellow curry which is a staple and delicious but the drunken noodles is my favorite by far! Just the right amount of spice and flavor, this is by far one of the best Thai places in Southern California!
Order chicken teriyaki food was very bland, not a lot of flavor.
BEWARE: THIS RESTAURANT CHARGES 18% GRATUITY REGARDLESS OF PARTY SIZE OR POOR SERVICE
I've been to this restaurant a few times previously on week days and the hostess/waitress, food and service were always exceptional.
The owner/mgr tainted my recent experience to the point that I am giving a one-star rating. This last visit left a bad taste in my mouth as the owner/mgr appears to have a bias toward none-asian patrons.
We arrived @ 1:40pm and before we could get comfortable at our table, the owner/mgr told us that they close at 3pm. We never felt welcomed after that point. We ordered side salads to start, but they were served after we received our entrees which defeated the purpose.
The restaurant is small and it was easy to see that the owner/mgr was devoting her time to the other two tables as she frequently hovered over the other tables, but not ours. We had to inquire about our salads twice. After all the food had been served, the mgr never came back to check on us. My lunch date had finished her water and the owner/mgr came to refill her glass, but we had already finished eating and had asked for the check by this time.
Since I had never paid the checks previously, I didn't know that the restaurant automatically adds an 18% gratuity to the check regardless of party size or quality of service and food.
Based on the service, I informed the owner/mgr that if they are going to automatically add an 18% gratuity to all checks, then at least provide good service. I told her that the service she provided to our party of two was bad as I witnessed her hovering and catering to the two other tables that had parties of four and six respectively.
The mgr became loud, defensive, and started over talking me. I asked her to lower her voice--she did not. She kept stating that the the gratuity is listed on the menu. I told her that I was not disputing that information--I was disputing the poor service. She went on and on and then inferred that we were rude in how we asked for things. I asked her at what point were we rude? She just walked away. First of all, other than our food, the only things I asked for were extra napkins and the check. Other than that, we didn't see her which is the point that needed to be made.
She came back and said that if I didn't want to pay the gratuity she would remove it. Since she offered, I told her to remove it--she didn't deserve it.
I was going to pay the entire check, including the $11 gratuity. However, my point to management is if they are going to automatically charge patrons an 18% gratuity, they have a duty to at least provide good service--notice that I didn't even say excellent service.
Finally, the owner/mgr needs to be respectful. She also needs to tighten up and at least pretend to like all patrons who visit her establishment. Her biased behavior was beyond obvious.
Needless to say, we won't return to this establishment.
They added additional charges and items that we didn’t receive or order. This has happened to my husband and I twice now. Unfortunately for them, we will never be patrons again. We have been huge supporters since the first location on Beverly Blvd. We were told that the second location now on Sherman Way in Van Nuys was struggling, so we made it a point to support and dine there regularly. Now, never again.
מסעדה מעולה עם מלצרים חמודים
Kinnara is our go to Thai restaurant in the Valley. The food is always fresh, of excellent quality and somewhat different from the more common Thai restaurant. We have tried many of the selections on the menu but tonight we ordered crispy Tamarind Sea Bass (a good sized Branzino), Penang lamb chops, a special, and stir fried mix veggies. Great dinner! The service was wonderful and they gave us fresh rice for our take home leftovers. It is a very nice place to take friends as its quiet so you can talk. I have yet to be disappointed here so five stars. BTW, I’ve been to Thailand at least ten times so I am not a newbie.
First time here! Had dinner with the fam last night and all was great. Kudos to the chef.
This is our go-to place for Thai in the neighborhood. Service always prompt, conscientious and responsive. I'm partial to the drunken noodles, but everything has been good!
Very bad meal, chcken curry was the worst I ever had the potato’s uncooked raw , the steam rice was not cooked very hat to chew overs over priced wirst quality Tahi food I ever had woul not recommend it stay away from this place !
I waited 2hours plus for my food, I could have learned how to cook the food myself
These are all different experiences at the KINNARA THAI! I love this place the service is wonderful and food is even better, I suggest (Art) as a server he’s great excuse me is spelled wrong but I love this place I’ve been back so many times an this is what I’ve ordered! :)
Amazing service and food!
I usually don’t write reviews but decided to write one because of this incident. I usually do take out from this place every once in a while and it’s wonderful. However, I placed an order yesterday while I was at the counter and the total came to $24.04 and I handed the cashier a total of $40 split by 2 $20 bills. The cashier asked me if I had the 4 cents with me and I went to my car to get the change. When I came back and gave her the money she had my change ready on the counter. However the change I received back was only $6. So the cashier kept the rest of the change without my consent. Terrible business ethics.
Dined here with my colleague for an early lunch. Ordered two drinks, a soup, an appetizer, and a lunch special. $40 a person so its on the expensive side and has a service charge of 15% and tip for another 15%
The service and people are nice.
A coworker referred to this spot for lunch. I ordered the orange chicken kebab lunch special. It was not what I expected and initially was not happy with my choice. I finished the rest for dinner and have to say that it is tasty just not what I expected.
Im still not happy with the $5 charge for countrytime lemonade, online it states fresh lemonade. 🙄
Overall, the lunch special was 3.5 out of 5. I will try a different item next time.
Delicious Thai food and great service! Happy I found this place.
Always yummy
I used to eat here every week. Sad that I moved to a different city now, as this is still the best Thai food place I've visited so far.
Don’t waste your money!! Zero star.
Super rude waitress, towards customers and delivery drivers. I’ve never encountered anyone that hates their job that much. I saw her treating people of color in a different way than how she treats others. I’m so disgusted. I will NEVER go back. She Basically through a bag full of food to an Uber driver that was just trying to do his job and that had been extremely polite since he came into the restaurant. You guessed it right, the Uber guy was black.
If this was my first experience with Thai food I would never go again to a Thai food place. The food was way too sweet. I would have complained more but we were there as a guest of our friend and did not want to embarrass her.
Delicious. A slightly higher price point than neighboring spots but still 5 stars
Very disappointed, group lunch after meeting & denied entry. Disclosing medical information is private not public.
Pretty good food. Nice staff. A bit pricey, but the atmosphere is quite nice.
Great food and service! Cute atmosphere!
Food was very bland. Tastes fake. Orange chicken sauce tasted burnt or saturated with MSG. Spicy seafood soup like lemon water no spice at all, dumplings were tasteless and the sauce was disgusting. Spicy larb salad was the best dish but not spicy at all. When someone orders a spicy dish it should have spice. The portions did not reflect the price. This place is pretending to be Thai. Appropriated and extremely over priced. Never again.
Only a few tables when we came in for a late dinner. The cocktails were amazing! The food even better! We had soup, yellow curry & pad Thai & shared everything & still had leftovers! Service was very friendly. The restaurant was clean & really relaxing with an upscale feeling. Even the bathroom was clean.
POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE.
VERY SMALL FOOD PORTIONS AT A HIGH PRICE! NOT WORTH IT I GARANTEE YOU'LL BE DISAPPOINTED
We took our neighbors here for dinner last night. We were seated quickly, but by the restroom and asked to be moved. It took over half an hour to get our drinks ordered, and our husband's meals came 15 minutes before ours. Our drinks came after the meals were served. They were obviously short staffed and I understand that's not the waiters fault, but I felt embarrassed by the whole experience. The food was fine but I wouldn't go here again.
Excellent food
I fell in love with this place from the first time I walked in. The staff is very friendly and attentive, the decor is nice you can tell the put some effort in to it. The food is very good, I recommend the surf and turf fried rice or the sea food chow mein. Their Thai milk tea is second to none, this place is very underrated, if you have thought about going here or just want to try Thai food, GO HERE!:)
Terrible customer cervice
Overpriced menu, food isn't that great either, only thing positive is the cheap beer for happy hour. Burnt food, and the food isn't consistent always changing the ingredients. Best to save your money and go elsewhere
I ordered 2 Pad See You dishes, Crispy Veggies Roll, and a Kinnara Sampler from Kinnara Thai.
I was very disappointed with the extremely dry chicken in the Pad See You. The noodles were stuck together and lacked flavor. My friend got the veggie Pad See You and was also unhappy. The Crispy Veggies Roll was good, but the Kinnara Sampler's contents, especially the shrimp and dumplings tasted like the cardboard box they came in. Those items weren't wrapped. They sat at the bottom of the cardboard box they came in. The Chicken Satay was wrapped in foil, but was as dry and unappetizing as the chicken in the Pad See You. At least the Spring Rolls were good.
To top everything off, I paid a dollar more for each item because they were carry-out! Kinnara's menu listed items I ordered at $1 less. I guess you have to dine in to get menu prices.
I sincerely hope this is not a pattern with their take-out service. As for me, I'm not going to take a chance with Kinnara Thai again.
This is delish. Totally recommended.
The Tom yum soup taste like it from mama instant noodle powder seasoning bag, seafood pad thai noodles really sweet and to wet; I thought I was eating candy, and the papaya salad was to salty.
Might be a bad day.
These guys accepted my order via a food delivery service but were apparently closed earlier than what they had listed on the app. I waited 40minutes to find that out. Its on you to update your hours on services like that. Ruined my evening.
Good food, good prices, quick service — a nice neighbourhood restaurant
Cool
Very bad delivery service. Food was smashed. No fork, no napkins...have to eat with hands
So yummy!! I wasn't searching for LA's best Thai food or anything but I was really impressed! I ordered the Tokyo snow crab fried rice and pumpkin shrimp curry (not super common dishes) and they were phenomenal. Even delicious as leftovers! I also got the lychee on ice.. A simple and tasty treat!
I love this place. It's my local Thai restaurant and they've always been so consistent and delicious. They're delivery during this pandemic has been fantastic...same amazing flavors, very fast, and always accurate. I highly recommend them.
Found this place by accident and I was happily surprised by the whole operation! Great food, attentive staff, and a wine bar. It's a great place for a date, and a hidden gem for Van Nuys.
Soup was Good ,Nice 'Music in the Back ground/ Light piano / Jazz...None of that ' Loud 🔉 Crazy music..Quiet / Peaceful..Will be Back.
Disgusting, food was salty and service so rude. Not coming back for sure. Plenty of Thai food places else to choose.
Excellent food. Large portions. Cool vibe.
One of the best Thai places in the Valley. Food is great, ambience is lovely.
I had not been to a Thai Restaurant in quite some time, my reservations are usually caused by bad tasting noodles, too spicy to the point you can't enjoy the food, or the protein often times isn't fresh.
The boyfriend and I have always had a curiosity and I finally had a craving for Pad Thai, which needed to be addressed and not overlooked. So we decided to go to Kinnara and I must say I am glad we did!
We shared the food, as the servings are quite plentiful. We ordered a small Tom Kha Soup with Shrimp, each spoonful was creamy and flavorful. The sweetness of the coconut was well balanced by the lemongrass and galangal.
We then proceeded to attack a well executed spicy beef salad with fresh cucumber, tomato and grilled, savory, mouth watering tender pieces of beef.
Shortly after our two entree's arrived, a Pad Thai with chicken and Drunken Noodles with Shrimp, accompanied by a side of steamed white rice. The Pad Thai with chicken was such a delightful surprise, the noodles were soft, fresh and with each bite a delightful hint of citrus was left lingering in my mouth, if I had to guess, I'd say orange. The Drunken noodles packed the right amount of heat to my heart's content, the smokiness of the sautee was present, however not as overpowering as other places I've been to, which can ruin the dish entirely.
I do have to apologize for not uploading pictures of the amazing food we had, but when you're too preoccupied with your fork and spoon, enjoying each delectable bite, your phone becomes a nuisance. They do have drinks as well and they are delicious, at least what we had this time. We ordered a Lychee Mojito, Lychee Martini and Mango Margarita, all equally tasty and fancy. As soon as I go back, I promise an update with pictures of the delectable food we order.
Been ordering for delivery for some time now. Went to their place directly as well. The food is always amazing. Service is great. Place might be empty, but I do not mind. Rather quieter than full of obnoxious people. They are not perfect, cause no one is and things happen, but I love their food and their very friendly, polite and attentive service including delivery.
This was first time I was here in a very long time. The menu was pretty much the same as before but I just didn't think it was as good as it was. I didn't really enjoy my meal in general but nothing specific. The restaurant was almost empty at dinner time so evidently their reputation is common knowledge.
Great service/staff, and even better food!
Was able to seat a party of 9+ inside, and allows reservations
The food was great, the service was horrible. Possibly under staffed. But the server never checked on us. He was rude. Our tip reflected his service.
Amazing food. Good presentation. Staff was very helpful. Good price for the quality of the food.
Friendly, quick, delicious ! They have great variety, and prices are reasonable. Good plaza with parking. I love the coconut soup !
Found this gem of a place. The place is deceiving from outside, but food is fabulous and loved the fried rice and beans. Worth it. Owners please keep doing what you do and maintain the quality of food and service.
Really good food, not expensive and very clean..
Great prices for delicious food and great service.
Excellent food
Never disappointed!
just went to your new place in vegas.............wow ...spectacular...told my friends ...we have a great new thai place to go to...thanks....food and service are superb....
Thai fine dining. Wow.
Food was great staff was a bit impatient to my order lost my sweat towel lol 😀 went back told me I didn't have anything.
We have tried this newer Thai place a few times and it is great! Flavors are excellent and a very nice staff. We will definitely be back often!
It was my first time there, and everything that we ordered was really good. Very cozy.
This is one of the BEST Thai restaurants ever!!!💛💛💛💛💛
Great food excellent service.
Delicious food
Food is good. But not including rice with curry (as we were told over the phone after not getting any in our take out) at these prices is absurd.
We love our neighborhood restaurant.
Great thai food. Everything I've tried was delicious.
Best thai food. I reccomend the crying tiger
The Just Fried rice is a great dish and the Thai Iced tea is delicious.
Esta muy padre y muy elegante la comida esta muy rica 😋
Try the Crying Tiger and forget about it. Love this place.
I love their chicken wings and chicken fried rice
Delicious.... the taste is great... best Thai in the valley.
Crazy good. There was a point where i had it 2 or 3 days in a row! I really recommend the crying tiger or the beef pad see ew. And their lychee on ice or tiramisu is delicious too! If you're looking for good Thai food, go to Kinnara!
Delicious Thai food and friendly service! Lovely decor inside. Highly recommend!
Clean, nice decor and delicious meals
the decor really turned me off at first because i was afraid it wouldn't be so authentic but the food was excellent. mildly priced. will make you feel like a king though
the stuff are racist.they never served us because we're blacks,And stick rice had a foil paper
This fun little Thai place is in a plaza with lots of other restaurants including Mexican food and African food. There is even a Starbucks. I would be a regular here if I lived close enough. The food is delicious and served with generous portions. The atmosphere is sophisticated but not too stuffy. The service is quick. I got the green curry with brown rice. I have also had takeout a few times. Can't wait to go back.
delicious, reasonably priced, nice indoor ambience.
good food.. loved the papaya salad
Great little spot in the middle of Van Nuys. I’ve been there a couple times and everything I’ve ordered has been delicious. The atmosphere is very warm and comfortable. Good place for a date in the valley.
Great atmosphere and amazing food
The chicken pad thai is delicious
Love this plac3
Delicious
The quality of food here is just getting horrible. Used to be such a good place.
This is a great casual upscale Thai restaurant. The staff is friendly. The food is excellent. They have a fairly good menu selection of several items plus a good selection of various alcohol.
Their salmon dishes are excellent!!
Very friendly and great food.
Loved the food. Great decor inside
FABULOUS - really FABULOUS - I had lunch there today - the Salmon curry was fresh and so tastey. It came with mounds of beautiful fluffy rice and an delicious little salad. Lovely atmosphere, great service and FREE PARKING - I do not live near Kinara but would happily drive the hour to eat here again.
Best Thai in the Valley
Mediocre. Won't be back.
Had a great time with a new place for me. My friend's husband suggested it to us. Good Idea. Note suggested several things and they were all great. Drunken Noodles. Shrimp Curry, Beef something or other.
It turns out that Note is a friend of a friend and family. Glad to have run into her this evening.
Getting back to the BW hotel was fairly easy. Just a few miles. Ended up taking backroads to get back onto Sepulvada.

Love, love, love this place. Wonderful good. Great prices. Friendly service. Enjoy!
Mid priced $8-$16. Amazing flavor profile. High end food service and quality.
This is hands down, my favorite Thai restaurant in the area. I go here a few times a week. Every dish I tried was delicious! Very decent prices, everyone I took here thought this restaurant is a gem. :)
