We lived in Simi for years and loved coming to Rich and Richer. We have since moved away, but had a free weekend to spend and literally planned the trip around this restaurant. They were super busy even though we arrived just ten min after opening,
but despite the owner’s warnings, our food still came out quickly. It was exactly how we remembered - amazingly flavorful, yet still light. The Rich & Richer broccoli is our FAVORITE. Truly a hidden gem in Southern California.

Prefacing this review with [1] Thai options in Simi are decidedly limited and [2] I'm picky about my Thai food. That said, and I feel bad because I wanted to love them, it's a "no" for me, folks. I ordered a few baseline items to pick up and try them out (Panag curry w/ beef, pad Thai, crab fried rice, and chicken satay). Service was excellent and the order was accurate. The food was not good. The panag curry was only chewy beef and sauce over rice. The crab fries rice tasted too fishy...maybe not very fresh. The pad Thai, which looked anemic and like they forgot the tamarind, also tasted too fishy. The chicken satay was pretty good...but peanut sauce can absolve a multitude of sins, even if it wasn't. I was disappointed with the food and thought prices seemed high but prices everywhere are crazy these days.

Tried Thai food at many restaurants,but nothing beats Rich and Richer.
Made fresh to order the food is sizzling hot and bursting with flavor and MJ is the best host one can ask for.

I ordered a combination Chow Mein which was delicious. The only reason I giving them three stars is because it was lunch time and nobody was there, only the cashier and person cooking. Other than that my food was good.

Just tried to order for pick up and the guy was so rude from the start. He asked how many orders, I told him 3 items. I had a question about one because I have a dietary restriction... he said no and hung up on me. I didn’t even have a chance to try to order the rest of my food. Definitely not the service I needed on a Friday after a long week of work as a health care professional. So disrespectful, will never give someone like this my hard earned money.

The service was very nice, so I feel really bad having to write this review. That’s how important I feel it is to tell you. I have no idea how this place could have possibly gotten that many review stars from other people, but I think they all must be very misguided for some reason. This is hands-down the worst Thai food I’ve ever eaten, and I’ve eaten at a lot of Thai food restaurants in my life. This is not an exaggeration. It’s very greasy and not very fresh, and made my body feel pretty nasty. I would almost say it’s like food poisoning, but on a regular basis, I’m assuming. Sorry for such bad news.

First time visiting and not only was the food delicious, the owner is probably one of the kindest souls ive met in recent months!! He was so so genuine and kind and helpful, and i have an anxiety disorder and still LOVED talking with him when i picked up my order. Top notch service and very yummy food, i absolutely recommend you check them out!!

I really used to like this place as a kid, although when I went back I feel like they changed their recipe for their combo fried rice which was a staple tome.

Went there, there was a beer bottle left at the entrance with beer in it, only 1 couple in the place stood at the door for a few minutes no one came so we sat ourselves waited what seemed way to long finally a man came up to us and gave us a menu he mumbled something when I asked him what he said he pointed to the front of the menu and said we close at 7. I looked at my watch and it was 6:10. If you do not want the business then you should lock your doors at 6 we left. I would recommend the Thai House where you are appreciated.

Best thai food on the planet! I've tried many items here, they are all good! but my favorite is Cashew Chicken. Delicious!! The thai Ice Tea is amazing. The owner (MJ) may seem intimidating at first, but he's really a Teddy Bear once you get to know him. All the ingredients are fresh and the place is always clean. I highly recommend this place to everyone :-) Great job MJ and your lovely wife.

Well I'm gonna be real strait on this review . Place is not very welcoming , the owner seams rude at first . We went in tonight and almost left before placing order. The owner was busy and didn't seam to care if we were there or not . BUT ONCE HE DID GET TO US WHICH WASNT VERY LONG AT ALL HE TURNED ON HIS PERSONALITY ! Man what a carector , had us laughing , very friendly joking with us and now let's get to the food . Place smelt great, was simple and clean when we came in and why we waited, I said well maybe the food will be better than the initial service. BOY am I glad we stayed the food was fresh and delicious ! The service was great. Just got to let him do what he does . Try it you'll be surprised as I was! This may be our new favorite Thai food place! And I look foward to going their again real soon. We had pad Thai, spicy fried rice with beef, and the Kung poa chicken . All was fantastic! After talking with the owner found out that it is literally him and his wife running the place no other help. And why he is preoccupied . But like I said wait it out they run a great restaurant for a two person show! I can't wait until the next time I can go there and watch his carector erupt! Lol. My bigest regret is not trying the place sooner . Never knew it was there. He has been there since 2002 he told us . Drove by it 1000s of times thought it was a nail salon or something but trust me give it a shot. Well worth it.

Have to change my review. The owner is very funny and very nice. He cracks me up. The food was pretty good, it had good flavor. I really appreciated that he accommodated me being vegetarian and special made my order for the lunch special price, even though it wasn't a lunch special item. The only thing to be aware of is that the curry has MSG. The owner said he doesn't use it and in the other menu items I'm fine, but both times I've had the curry I get a reaction. I think they use a paste and are not aware of what's in it. The tofu and vegetables are great, but if you're MSG sensitive, avoid the curry.

You will not find better food, OR customer experience anyplace else. Best damn Thai food hands down.

It's obvious that the rating that raved about this place have never had Thai food or have diminished sense of taste. It was bland dull and generally lousy . And they charge way to much for the quality of what they think is cusine. I lived in Thailand for five years the chef was exiled from Thailand for bad cooking. So they came to Simi Valley, swimin pools

This place is the best in simi valley, the personality of the owner is classic, he may come off as rude but he has nothing but the customers best intentions at heart and is one the best reasons to eat here is just to watch the new customers reaction when he says no to them. This place is great. The guy who works there is hilarious, very friendly and talkative. My Husband loves their pad thai and sometimes we stop by just for take-out. I love the thai ice tea as well. I enjoy having local restaurants like this one close-by!

Best Thai food ever!! Mang is such a cool dude and hard worker. Make sure you know what your going to order before you get there, he's the soup nazi of Thai food. The food is absolutely worth it though.

Food was fair, but forget about that, service horrible, the old guy on the phone screamed on me when I place the order and when we get there with my friend, he was even worst, sarcastic....We would never ever go back there or recommend it to anyone. Worst service ever.
