We had an eventful day in Seal Beach and decided to stop by here for lunch.

Parking: Free parking lot. They’re located in a small plaza, so parking can be a bit tricky. We got lucky with parking in front of the restaurant.

Ambiance/Environment: Really nice and clean inside! Great for large groups. They have a small bar in the back left corner. We came in around @12:30, and noticed it started getting busy in the late afternoon. You can do a walk up or make reservations online.

Service: Shout out to our server Jeremy! Not only was he waiting tables by himself, but he also took great care of us! Very courteous and efficient. Throughput was approximately 15 min for our orders.

What we ordered:

1) Royal Thai Appetizer (lunch special), Sake Paloma, Sake Moscow Mule - This royal appetizer came in a 3 tier stand filled with all Thai classics such as egg rolls, chicken skewers, cheese puffs, coconut shrimps, fried dumplings, Thai money bags, and shrimp wrappers. All the sauces came on top. My favorite was the peanut sauce. Everything was cooked well and absolutely delicious! We decided to go with the 2 cocktails. The Moscow mule was strong, and the Paloma was sweet & fruity.

2) Seal Beach Noodles - stir fry yakisoba noodles with shrimp, chicken, onions, dry chili, cashew nuts, & water chestnuts in their special house sauce. The noodles had a lot of flavor and wasn’t too salty. The chicken and shrimp were also cooked well, though I wish it had more of it.

3) Mongolian Beef with Jasmine brown rice (lunch special) - Mongolian beef was mouth watering! The jasmine brown rice wasn’t too sticky. The dressing on the salad really pulled the flavors together. This also came with a small soup and crispy wonton; both had a plain taste but made the entire dish fulfilling.

4) Mango Lemonade & Thai Tea Lemonade - These were so refreshing! We loved both our drinks!

Pricing: It is a bit on the pricier end. Can’t blame them for operating in this inflation. I’d say it’s worth it because their food tastes authentic, great service, and welcoming ambiance.

Great Thai food, very solid. We got the fresh ginger sauté, pineapple curry, and lettuce wraps. Super nice staff and great atmosphere. Not cheap but also not overpriced. Gluten friendly!

Checked out a local spot after spending time in Marina paddling around. We were starved and decided to do Thai food.

Place is more of a neighborhood hangout versus a big chain restaurant.. which I love. The ambiance is charming. Service was friendly and prompt.

The food was alright. The coconut shrimp and eggplant dish were more favorable than the other dishes ordered. The noodle dish was super plain and lacking taste.
Maybe Im just more critical of Thai food since there are so many good spots in LB, OC, and LA area.

This is the best Thai Food in the area. We drive from Costa Mesa at least once a month for this place. Unfortunately the entire restaurant had to close for almost 6 months, some type of plumbing problem with the building.

We are so happy that they are again open for business. It was so great to see the staff back at work and of course the food was to die for.

We of course got the chicken sauté appetizer, we also both got a cocktail and the garlic rice. My wife got the green been chicken dish and I ended up with my favorite dish which happens to be the garlic pepper chicken. Combine that with the rice and again thie food here is to die for.

Great service and to be honest with you the pricing is not bad at all. The portions are good so be prepared for multiple to-go boxes because the food here is even better the next day.

There's just one problem - I am finding myself disappointing time and again while relying on Yelp's rating system to steer me in the right direction.

After searching Yelp for the highest ranked Thai restaurants in the LA area, I came across Rocharin. Other than a Vegan Thai place and Thai coffee house, this place ranked highest on Yelp's list.

Just so it's clear, in Vegas the Yelp rankings are so amazingly accurate, you could impress Anthony Bourdain with your restaurant picking skills.

I am finding that is not the case in LA.

Perhaps that is harsh to my brothers and sisters in the LA Yelp community, but I have been burned so many times i am starting to have doubts.

(Please forgive me, oh mighty Yelp, but I have serious doubts.)

The spring rolls were okay but very sweet, even without the sauce. The Tom Yum was sweet as well, way too sweet in fact. I ordered a 5 in the spice level, but it was barely spicy at all. Their version of the Tom Yum has noodles, which i have seen before. I guess I could take it either way, but the broth was just too sweet.

My girl ordered the drunken noodles, her favorite, and guess what? You got it - too damn sweet.

Maybe I am being a little too harsh, after all, I do have the privilege of living in a city that is home to one of this country's best Thai restaurants, and maybe, just perhaps, I have become spoiled by that fact.

Honestly, the food was so close to being pretty good, it almost gets 3 stars.

I’ve been craving Thai food for weeks now and been hearing about this place a lot. I am so happy with what we ordered because everything was delicious!!!!! I decided to be different in all the choices I made and instead of Thai iced tea I went for the Mango lemonade 🥭🍋 This was so good, I was trying to savor it the entire meal because I could easily drink it at one time!!! Sometimes it can be too sweet or sour but this was just right. The platter was just beautiful in presentation but also had the best small bites in one platter!!!!! We also loved the 🦀 crab fried rice and loved the presentation with the scrambled egg on top that enveloped the mound of rice! 🍚 we also loved The Treasure Pot because it had scallops, shrimp and mushrooms! Wish there were more scallops cuz it was so yummy!! I can’t wait to go back here again and the restaurant inside was so calming and very beautifully decorated. They also have a happy hour menu and it was available on weekends!

They reopened after a remodel and the food is just as good as it was pre Reno.

The muscles in black sauce is incredibly delicious.

The chicken sate is fat and juicy (the best I’ve ever had)

Ordered the saddest, blandest, palest, undercooked, unseasoned pad thai plates from here. 👎

Wow. Ordered here for delivery, and just remarkable. Way better quality than one could ever hope for in delivery Thai. Deep flavors, tender moist chicken, fresh ingredients. So good!

Emerald noodles were a standout. Basically pad Thai + green curry.

Best Thai in the area, we drive from HB to eat here. We came last week and returned again this week because my husband and I couldn’t stop talking about it, still just as good as the first time! We will absolutely be returning.

Small restaurant with delicious food and great service. Call ahead and make a reservation during dinner hours as it can get busy. I can't wait to go back.

Tried for the first time per friends' recommendation. I had the ginger (swai) fish and garlic fried rice. Food took a bit long to be delivered, but it was good!

The waitresses are rude and dismissive. Service is everything and this places service at least on Friday evenings and Wednesday evenings is horrible and almost cruel. Many people waiting for there to go food and they weren’t even helped. Foods great but you need servers that talk and are kind at bare minimum.

Check your bill before you pay. They may add a bit more on. Waiter may play ignorant.

Tua was a very adorable and personable server. Everyone is nice and the food is amazing. Great lunch specials.

Great happy hour deals starting at 4:30 pm. We ended up stuffing ourselves on the $4.50/plate happy hour appetizers and didn't have room for dinner. The grilled dumplings were my favorite. They have interesting cocktails made with saki, all half off during happy hour as well. Excellent service and plenty of free parking. I will have to come back for actual dinner on another day!

We arrived after the main lunch rush but before the end of their Happy Hour menu items. We ordered the Coconut Shrimp, Fried Dumplings, and Egg Rolls off the Happy Hour menu, and Grilled Garlic Salmon off the Lunch Specials menu. All of the items were exceptional and arrived to table hot and in a timely manner. The salmon was served with a side of Garlic Fried Rice, a small soup, and a side salad. The Grilled Salmon was delivered on a bed of spinach that was perfectly wilted under the heat of the filet. All in all, a surprisingly terrific lunch worthy of the 5 stars! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Ordered a ton of rice and meat dishes from here but when they arrived it’s more rice than meat. I felt so cheated. Fix this with all your dishes and maybe you’ll be worth more stars.

They are finally open again! We have missed this place so much. To be honest we were afraid that the food wouldn’t be the same since they have been closed for so long and we were not sure if the chef would still be there! But… EVERYTHING is as it was. The price does seem to have increased slightly by a dollar here and there, but completely worth it. Since they have closed we tried about 4 different Thai restaurants and none came close to the deliciousness! We are happy to have this restaurant back in our food rotation! Thank you for being so consistent and not disappointing!

This place is a sleeper for sure,
Meaning you would pass by it and more than likely not even realize-
But once you get introduced to the restaurant like I was, then you begin to understand why it's well received.

I went here with my mom and she swore by the garlic fried rice, which really surprised me since she's not a fan of rice to begin with.
We ordered a Pacific salmon,
Emrald noodles (recommended by waiter),
And spicy green beans.
I'm not big on spice personally so we ordered everything at a "mild" level of spice.

The sauce on the Pacific salmon was lovely, salmon itself slightly overcooked on the grill, but still satisfying.
Emrald noodles kicked. My. American. Butt. With spice. It's made with a green curry and the dish was tasty just, too spicy for this Cali kid.
Spicy green beans were good as well, not too spicy considering the menu title but they were cooked and seasoned well.

But the star of the dish however surprising it may sound; was the garlic fried rice.
So delicious. Not too garlic forward, well executed rice.
I could've been happy with just the rice and a Thai tea for my meal.

Service was good too, a bit hasty at times but nonetheless very prompt.

Atmosphere is also nice, it's intimate and still gives you that Thai feel.
Would recommend to anyone that enjoys Thai food.

We stayed at The Pacific Inn hotel for a week and dined at Rocharin twice. Both dinners were excellent. We shared The Platter, an array of appetizers, both visits, and each item was delicious! We also shared a cup of the Tom Kha Chicken which was some of the best I've had. I chose Pad Thai with tofu and vegetables as my entree, and it was good but not the best I've had. My husband had the Crispy Fish and loved it. The service and ambiance was excellent. We will definitely be back when we are in the area!

Great customer service! Sweet staff and the decor is cute. The tai tea is incredible! The soup was delicious and the salads are great! The spring rolls were standard, the red meat was questionable, the shrimp was average. I really enjoyed the hospitality

6 people (5 children, 1 adult) and charged the 18% tip that was not listed on the menu. Not cool. I even asked where it was written and they could not find it either. Just said it’s added for 6 and above.

What a fabulous quaint gem. We started with lettuce wraps, chicken satay and spring rolls, all of which were very good. I tried the sautéed chicken with spicy green beans. This was done in a medium spicy (you get to choose your spice level) Thai peanut sauce. I upgraded to get the garlic rice. This was absolutely delicious! My friends had green curry and Seal Beach noodles. They were both very pleased with theirs as well. And the service was great. I will definitely go back when I'm in the area!

A big, family sized bowl of overcooked, sticky, gloop noodles, and 6, count 'em 6 paper-thin slices of carrot. Asked for extra vegetables. To be fair, I think there was a 1/2" chunk of cabbage (1) on there and some green onions..

My husband and I love this place. There is happy hour every day till 6 PM you can get a $4 glass of wine have price on beer the appetizers are amazing and the food is delicious! On top of all of that the atmosphere is very pretty and private and the service is great!

This was my favorite Thai place for a very, very long time. But over the past few months, their food has gone downhill in a way that's pretty heartbreaking. After praising their food to my relatives in the past, everybody in my party decided to order the Pad Thai and it was, without a doubt, the worst I've ever had. Bland, dry and completely flavorless, everyone was disappointed. I used to dine here every week, but unfortunately I will not return. Stay away.

This place is second worst Thai restaurant. We went for lunch. My friend ordered tom yum noodle soup and I ordered pad Thai. The best thing was the salad and tofu soup ( little salty added water). With calamari appetizer... This was good but I'm sure it's pre packaged
heat and serve. Tom yum tasted like wasted down pad that. And my pad Thai tasted soupy. Usually you get crunchy bean sprouts and carrots bean sprouts and carrots. This was boiled up and soft.

So many Thai places can't ever balance their food. Usually too heavy on the salt or sugar or both. Not this place. All of it was so delicate and flavorful. We have ordered from here a couple times and it is consistently delicious.
This time I got the lunch special. I picked the cashew chicken with the garlic fried rice. YOU HAVE TO GET THE GARLIC FRIED RICE!!!! The lunch special comes with a couple wontons and salad. I also got the Thai coffee, which I love. And again, balanced. Usually it is way too sweet, but theirs is great. Wife got the Thai ice tea which too is usually too sweet at other places, but not theirs. Highly recommend.

Fantastic Thai food in Seal Beach. We had the lunch special, and it was served during the weekend! The Thai tea was one of the best I've had. In my experience Thai tea can be too watery, creamy or sweet. This was very balanced. The lunch special comes much like a bento box. The tofu soup was simple but surprisingly good. The amount of rice is ridiculously filling, and you get a salad and a protein of your choosing. I liked the several options for lunch, unlike many places that seem very limiting. Definitely spring for the upcharge for the garlic fried rice...its worth it!

I came in to pick up food and the server was very disrespectful and unprofessional as she started talking to me in a very bad manner infront of all the custin the restaurant although i was talking very nice to her but still she kept the vibe tense and unprofessional and as i picked up the food i said this didn't take alot of time to prepare she said are you still talking in a very rude way.

We go here every week. The service is great, the ladies are always so wonderful! We recommend it to all of our friends and family.

We go here at least once a week and it is awesome every time. The service is fantastic and they have great gluten free options for my wife.

Still looking for a good Thai spot. The staff was nice and friendly but not sure if it was an off day or if this is really how the food is. Some of the other reviews back up what we experienced. We ordered 4 things to try. Everything was pretty bland and most of the vegetables seemed undercooked. The papaya salad was plain. Where is that sweet, salty, and spicy flavor you expect? The Panang was really watery. The chicken for the drunken noodle was rubbery but there was some spice to the dish which was nice. The garlic rice was a little dry but had some flavor. Overall, I would like to give them another chance but not sure it's worth wasting money to do so.

Great lunch deal for the area.

I’ve been eating here for years and the quality of their food has declined. Teriyaki salmon is sometimes over cooked and vegetables watery. Disappointed given the high price. Pickup orders also take too long, waited 20 minutes for mine after giving them half an hour to prepare meal.

Thai tea was tasty.
The curry however, wasn't anything to get home in a hurry for.

I would like said that it is the best Thai restaurant, but I did not find Thai beef jerky. But I highly recommend garlic pepper beef, cashew nut chicken and spicy fried rice. Also the garlic fried rice is amazing.

I love to eat here. Good food, friendly staff and affordable prices. What more to wish for?

Excellent Thai food in a quiet atmosphere.

Rocharin Thai Bistro provides really good customer service. The Green Curry with Vegan Duck is very good: the primary flavors derive from the curry sauce which mixes, and tastes very well with the entire meal. The rice is somewhat soft, and sweet. The meal is filling, rich, and appetite-satisfying. Rocharin Thai Bistro has a decent cool interior though I prefer the outdoor area. As of my most recent visit, all employees wear masks, hand sanitizer is available, and Samsung Pay is an acceptable payment option.

Outside seating as well as indoor. Great lunch specials. Appetizers are great. Waitstaff is super nice.

Love this place! Can't pronounce the name of the soup but it has lemon grass, shrimp and great flavor. Also, love the soup with coconut milk and lemon grass with shrimp! Would of rate it a 5 star, but they short you on the shrimp (maybe it's my greedy a$$ but I love shrimp and these 2 soups!)

Curry chicken and curry shrimp with rice was so good. Pineapple rice was yummy! Boys got chow main with beef and chicken. They ate the whole plates! Everything was delicious

Excellent Thai food, likely the best I’ve had in Orange County the last six months. I’m very particular about Thai food and not easy to please, but this place was really impressive. We had green curry and Panaang curry and it was spectacular.

I love Rocharin Thai!! I've been going there regularly for years. They have consistently delicious food and excellent service. Try the pumpkin curry...you won't regret it!! 👍👍

Food is amazing.

For a semi pricey city , this place has very reasonable menu. The phad Thai was so much food - deliciousness all the way. We are Thai food fans , we outta know! My mom said their dishes are very good and I can’t wait to try more. The noodles didn’t leave me tired after which is the case with pasta when I eat it.
It was filling yet clean flavors not oily . Heathy entree. The topper was the cold Thai coffee. It had a earthy natural flavor not too sweet but subtle sweet.

Going out to eat is not what it once was... although there were plenty of people picking up food, there were not many in the restaurant itself. I miss those days. As for the food, it was great! Tom Kha soup is creamy, flavorful and hot 🔥. Pad Thai is really good and the Mango Sticky Rice is a great way to end the meal. 🍚🍶🥢

This place was really good. Try the Garlic salmon and the yellow curry soup.

Was very disappointed after seeing such high reviews. Ordered drunken noodles, chicken panang, crab fried rice, and a few happy hour appetizers. The panang curry was so watery and had very little meat but lots of either cucumber or zucchini. We couldn't tell what it was by the taste. The "fried" rice wasn't fried. It was like eating bibimbap, sticky white rice with a lot of oil. Ordered 2 of them, $31 worth of gross. Appetizers and drunken noodles were okay.

Popped in for a quick lunch yesterday, quiet crowd but very nice atmosphere and the spicy chow menu and drunken noodles were excellent! Would recommend! Service was friendly and attentive.

I had the green curry at medium heat. Spicy but balanced. Delivery was 5 min early and friendly. Great all around experiance!

Excellent service both eating in and delivery. Some of the most consistently great tasting Thai I've ever had. The Thai fried rice and Pad Thai are my all time favorites and keep me coming back.

Food and customer service were pretty good.

It was my first time being there and everything was so great for me. The food was really delicious. I have had Thai food at many restaurants but this place was impressive for the food and the service. Good thing they have gluten free food. I tried the tofu soup and to be honest, I had to say “wow, the broth is sooo good”. I highly recommend this place for my family and friends.

Nic food very nice stuff

The food was tasty, but the service was terrible. Waitress wanted us to order before asking us about drinks. After we received our food, never saw her again. We had to flag down another waiter for bill and anything else we needed.

Great Thai food. The fish was light, refreshing and delicious. All other dishes were vegetarian, and brown rice was incredible.
