Thai East Wind authentic Thai food with vegan options
This was such a let down. The service was quick but the food was mediocre. Everything was served with plastic utensils and disposable plates. Food wasn't a stand out. Seems like they are more of a take out location. You have to pay in advance before you get your food. No rest room also on site or service water. Won't be coming back.
Super expensive for what it is… the vegan meat substitute is marinated tofu. The sauce was tasteless and tasted like bottle from the supermarket. We tried the Padthai and the Kung Pao vegan chicken. Unfortunately I can not recommend the restaurant this time. There are better Thai Vegan food in other restaurants. No parking available.
I had the Pineapple fried rice and OH MY! It was 10/10, so good!! Was super flavorful and filling. I don’t live close so my brother and I are trying to replicate the recipe lol
I probably would not eat here again but it wasn’t bad. The green curry just did not taste very creamy and didn’t have any Thai basil nor the typical vegetables you find in curry. And maybe because of Covid they’re using paper plates and plastic ware but it’s definitely not eco-friendly. There’s a bathroom around back I didn’t go in it. And like three parking spots in the back.
Stopped here for a quick bite. The service was quick and efficient. The food was good. I had the orange chicken. Hubby got the spicy noodles. That was delicious. My kids got soup but they did not like their soup.
I would say the food and service was efficient and okay, nothing earth shattering.
I am thoroughly disappointed in the dining experience we had here at thai vegan today. This is our first time visiting the establishment, and it will definitely be the last as well.
When we came in, we were given menus and told that we had to order at the cashier and pay in advance and pain advance.
We ordered egg rolls, vegetable fried rice, eggplant tofu, and orange chicken. The food was mediocre at best, and served to us on paper plates which ended up being soggy halfway through dinner due to the sauce that was drencheding the food. We paid $111.56 for this Terri le meal and poor service.
This is a mediocre fast food version of Thai food. We also paid an extra $3 to add vegetarian chicken to the fried rice, and we only got 4 tiny chunks of veggie chicken for it. To top it all off, on the way out, we were given a strange look and told that we had to bus our own table! The lady there looked at us strangely and said "You know you have to clean your own table right?? Please throw all your plates away in the trash before you leave."
I had to repeat it to make sure I understood what she was saying... I said "Excuse me, did you say I have to throw away all of the paper plates that you served us food on in the trash myself and clean the table?" She said yes, customers have to clean their own table when they're done.
I strongly recommend that you know anywhere other than to this establishment. Service mediocre, Food Disappointing, and the way customers are treated are disposable just like
The silverware.
I’m not sure why Thai Vegan only has 4 stars. It should have at least 4.5 stars. I am currently vegetarian per Buddhist funeral tradition, but I’m usually a big meat eater. I was weary of trying this place because how could they possibly get the flavors right with the umami from fish sauce? Well, they do a darn good job! I’ve had the pad Thai, spicy noodles (it’s Pad Kee Mow), and the Tom Kha. All were spot on and wonderful. I will come back to eat here even after I return to eating meat.
Fun fact: The Thai government engages in culinary diplomacy to boost tourism and international recognition. That’s why there are so many Thai restaurants in the US!
Completely unattentive, unprofessional waiter. He handed me the wrong order on 1/7/25 and did not apologized.
I met the owner. She is always very kind to me.
I had the Pineapple fried rice and OH MY! It was 10/10, so good!! Was super flavorful and filling. I don’t live close so my brother and I are trying to replicate the recipe lol
super quick and yummy thank you ! such a good variety
Very good restaurant and excellent service.
I really enjoyed this vegan take on sushi. Bravo! Nice little corner store and friendly staff.
Definitely got food poisoning from this place. Steer clear.

Overpriced and bland for small portions. I will not go back
The food is really solid Thai. But the dining experience is disappointing at this price point. There’s no AC or air flow and they serve everything in disposable containers! Not only that but leftovers go in a totally separate takeout container. So much waste! If it was cheap I could overlook all of this but it’s a little pricey
The staff was super friendly and the food was divine! Best vegan food I've had💖
Prices are very high for what you get. They serve you in disposable paper plates and containers with steel forks and knife. They don't even give you tap water. You have to pay for the bottled water. Food was ok.
$50 for takeout dinner for two, and the curries don’t even come with white rice…
Tiny little Vegan place. EVERYTHING WAS DELICIOUS!!!!
I loved that they serve in recyclable dishes.
Store close more than 1 hr in business hrs,
They just left a note saying they open in 30 min.
Cleaning guys says cashier just left the place.
Deeeeelishis Thai food!!!
OMG!!! 🤩
I ordered the green curry, vegetable tempura, pad Thai noodles and fried rice.
VERY FLAVORFUL!!!
It was all very delicioso 🤌🏾
We've ordered 5 dishes for a group and each one was absolutely disappointing. The soup and the curry had exactly the same watery consistency and vegetable content with slightly different taste. Everything was too spicy despite us ordering mild. All noodles were stuck together so hard we couldn't break them apart. Never again.
Not a vegan but I very much enjoyed lunch here.
Had the lunch special with Pad Thai and fresh roll. Pad Thai was flavorful and tasty. The vegetables were crisp and the tofu was firm.
It's not fancy so if you're looking for high-end this may not be a good place for you. It *is* good flavorful food.
😍😍😍😍😍
I ordered the Thai iced tea and the pineapple fried rice and both were disappointing. The iced tea wasn't sweet enough (barely any sweetener was used) and the food barely had flavor. This is probably the worst pineapple fried rice I've ever had. It was edible, I guess.
This place is awesome! Great customer service and delicious food. We will be back!
This is my new favorite Thai spot. The service was awesome and very quick to fill up drinks. Atmosphere is super cute. Food was authentic, we just visited Thailand 3 months ago. Well priced. We loved the green curry, Massaman curry & mango sticky rice. I am vegan but my husband is not, and we both loved it.
Do not waste your time. Do not eat here. It's overpriced for mediocre quality food served on paper plates with PLASTIC utensils which will introduce toxic chemicals into the hot food and also cheapens the presentation of the food.
My husband and I got 2 main entrees and 1 appetizer, and this came out to $55 or about $28 per person, which is steep for a place like this. The tofu satay also came out slightly burnt which is carcinogenic. There was also no free water or bathroom available for guests. I wish I had read the reviews which voice the same disappointment.

Too expensive for food served on low quality paper plates
One of my favorite vegan places to eat. Lots of options and the meals are huge.
The lunch special is worth it, but is not always being served.
Not that great. Poor value for money and no real service.
The food was ok & there is no service. Would I go again? No.
UPDATE: I loved thai vegan, and they are great people and the food is amazing and never makes me feel ill but they have been getting very low marks on their health inspections for RODENTS in the back of house. PLEASE, please, please fix this issue Thai Vegan! When I park in the rear for food pick up I notice that the back door is left open and the old screen door has a huge space underneath it. Please get a better back door and please clean the restaurant and prevent rodents. If you fix this issue and the health inspections pass with high marks, I will return and spend my weekly $100 budget at your restaurant again. Thank you.
Food was decent, the server was really nice, the place does not have a great vibe but is perfect for a quick lunch

Fantastic. I love the orange "chicken" and all the appetizers.
Food was good, but service...the girl that was behind the counter was as rude as hell
Best spring rolls ever
Number 2 on the menu
We were really excited to try this place, but its unreasonable to only offer bottled water to customers dining in. We walked in and decided to head elsewhere after seeing the sign.
Saw other customers eating on paper plates. I understand it might be cost prohibitive to hire a dishwasher, but still a bit disappointing to see; the least they could do is offer cups of water.
I would have liked to email this feedback rather than leave negative review for a vegan restaurant, but I couldn't find contact information anywhere.
I ate here at 2 locations last week and was very disappointed in the food. There was no interesting Thai flavor about it. It was Bland. I would not recommend it. Asked for a glass of water as I saw that ice and water were behind the counter. I was told that the owner does not give out glasses of water.that I I had to buy a bottle of water. I almost walked out of the restaurant, but I was hungry and didn’t feel like going anywhere else, so I had a meal that was mediocre. the staff snuck gave me a glass of water…saying she hoped that the owner did not see her giving me a glass of water on the surveillance camera.. because she was forbidden to give me one. This is totally unacceptable and this place is not very good, I’ve been to the other locations as well, the owner does not take pride in the surroundings. The food is not passionless as authentic Thai food in my opinion, and I have lived in Thailand and very familiar with what Thai cuisine is. So I do not recommend this place. You’re better off going to a normal Thai restaurant and ordering dishes with no meat you’ll have a much better meal.
A Santa Monica staple! Delicious food prepared quickly!
Too much vegetables. Literally 70% of the dish was vegetables (huge pieces) 30% noodles. Don’t get me wrong, the greens are good and healthy but I paid $15 not for the vegetables.
Ein kleiner Veganer Thailänder. Hier sind wir jedesmal mind. 1x, wenn wir in LA sind. Gute Portion und sehr frisch und lecker. Es gibt allerdings nur Pappschalen und Plastikbesteck.
Won’t go even if it’s free, Awful Awful,
maybe change of cook or ingredients but it’s not edible anymore, last time I was embarrassed as I took my guests there, noodles are smashed together like dough and ingredients are unrelated to actual food.
We know this business from their first location, it was acceptable at first, this second location was Ok but went down quickly. Every time they became slightly worse and last time was real disaster.
Very good food!!
Nice place, clean friendly staff too.
I get Thai Vegan almost every week, have tried just about everything on their menu and I’ve seriously never had better Thai food. The flavors are all spot on and they’re very consistent. The orange soy chicken is insanely delicious and the massaman curry is my favorite dish! 🙏🙏🙏
Delicious Thai food, that happens to be vegan. The soy chicken had great texture in the Orange Chicken, and the Pad Thai was flavorful. It's a good place to go for lunch or dinner.
wish it was hotter.
Delicious orange ‘chicken’
Update…went back and was received with impolite service
The food was good but they charged us extra for fresh rolls (which said it was included on their menu) and neither of the curry’s came with rice??
Three stars because even though the food was wrong it was delicious. Take out always comes with risks I guess
I probably would not eat here again but it wasn’t bad. The green curry just did not taste very creamy and didn’t have any Thai basil nor the typical vegetables you find in curry. Great tasting food at a good price! It's not spicy at all, which will be a plus or minus depending on preference. Portions are big, one dish per person is plenty.
Wonderful food at great price. I am not vegan, but, I still enjoyed everything I had. I will definitely go back again.
Hole in the wall place with decent Thai food. Everything is in a to go container but you can dine in.
Food not good, leaky plastic containers bad experience
Awful food and worse service. Illegally they refuse to give out cups of water as well, lol. They insist on selling water and have a jacked up bathroom that is so small you have to leave the door open around the back
This is just delicious in general - I’m not vegan!
Excellent texture of vegan chicken in my Pad Krapaw! Sauce was tasty and veggies fresh. Love this restaurant! Also loved the giant veggie spring rolls & peanut sauce excellent. Tasted so great, I forgot to stop and take a photo. Definitely going back😍
Drove all the way here and they are closed and “on break” from 4-5pm.
The imitation chicken looks like a real animal product
My favorite vegan Thai food.. always good
Every thing great
The girl on the counter not friendly hard to understand..she don’t know how to smile the customer.
The pad noodles was ok. I enjoyed the Thai tea.
AMAZING CURRY!!! This has been my favorite curry in LA thus far. The yellow curry is absolutely incredible and a large portion size. Order with a side of white rice and you will not be disappointed. The Kung Pao "Chicken" is also delicious. Everything here is vegan, hence the name, so this was a nice twist on actual chicken. This dish is definitely on the spicier side, so if you don't do spicy steer clear.
Will 100% be back! Cannot wait to have this curry again.
Bomb. Love this place.
great place to eat, the serving is good as well.
the food was okay, unacceptable disappointing was the customer service. due to the current state of the nation and the importance of washing hands, i asked where the restroom was. i was told their bathroom was flooded, and asked if i could wash my hands in clearly marked hand washing sink that was behind the register. the hostess told me i could not use it, and i had to leave the restaurant, step outside in the pouring to wash my hands in a filthy, flooded restroom. in circumstances during a pandemic, and with a flooded bathroom, there should be better customer service. this was rude and inconsiderate. i will never return.
This was honestly the WORST thai food I've had in my life....I know you don't know me but I LOVE thai food. And when you order a Tom Kah (I know it's not chicken and that's fine) and it's literally a can of coconut milk heated up with some pre-fried veggies I have to ask what are you thinking. I tried 2 of the curries as well (shared with friends) and it was honestly overly sugared and no actual flavor. This is just horribly sub par. Service was fine.
Outstanding
Why haven't they opened 20 of these?? I need it in every city.
So good! I'm still craving it!
The food was alright, but now quite worth the money. Perhaps I had the wrong dish or went on the wrong day.
definitely one of the dirtiest places I've visited and the employer treats her employees very badly
I just discovered this cozy little restaurant a few weeks ago, and I've already been 3 times. Delicious choices with excellent service. The kung pow chicken with the berry rice has become a fast favorite. And a special shout out to Ben, the waitress, she's the best!
Somehow they screwed up the fried rice. I think they cooked it with soy sauce 🤢
Great place and great service 😊😊😊
Delicious vegan food.
Great selection of typical Thai fare but in vegan versions. So good, you won't miss the animal products! A little tight, but dining environment is nice.
Great little place! Everything was clean and welcoming. The food was excellent; we highly reccommend the eggplant! Nice staff as well 😁
Good food.nice place for quck lunch
Delicious food. Have eaten there many times. I only wish they would recognize & greet their repeat customers. They are not unfriendly but not super attentive either.
Food was bad and expensive
So delicious, will definitely be coming back here!
Good food!
Good Food Love it 👍
Delicious...and vegetarian!
It was pretty good
Not as good as the previous Thai restaurant that was there before the remodel. But is alright, can be crowned during lunch due to their lunch specials.
Place is great. Egg rolls really good. #35 (I think it was #35) Teriyaki Chikn was good. Personally I hate to overrate things and set the expectations too high but I would go again without hesitation. Also there's no idea when it comes to taste but these are pretty traditional tasting meals.
We had paid thai noodles and orange chicken, so good. This place is quaint, service excellent.
Amazing place! Love it!
Good food
Delicious pad Thai and Thai iced tea
If you're looking for spicy, this is not the Thai restaurant for you. But if you like mildly spiced vegan food you should give this place a go.
So happy I found this place! Been there twice in the last week and very satisfied both times. Tried the green curry, orange chicken, and mixed veggies – all good. Staff is friendly and the space is pretty cute. Double parking in the back too so go give it a try!
Had their fries dumplings and sweet and sour shrimp. I LOVED IT
Good food, really bad service. They didn't bing us our drink in time, one of us never got the water he asked. They only gave us half of the food we asked, even when we asked again for the missing plates.
Thai food is Thai food. And good Thai food should have flavor even if it is Vegan...you can substitute the meats but never leave out the flavor always bring the flavor back even if you use different seasonings and sauces.
I can cook Thai food and that is important, the flavor. Sorry but not coming back to this one.
Delicious vegan yummies
We really enjoyed the food and service here. It was great not to have to worry about what to eat since everything on the menu is vegan.
Our only detraction is that they don't serve beer - but that is just us, we like a beer with a meal. If you're not a drinker or that doesn't bother you then you'll absolutely love it.
There is a great variety of flavors and dishes. We will be back.
Ordered uber delivery from here. Food was good, nothing to write home about. We had the veg fried rice, kong pao chicken, pad thai, curry and egg rolls. Was enough food for 4 people for about $56.
I'm just glad there was a vegan option in range of our hotel.
I'd recommend this if your wanting to fill the stomach with decently flavored dishes at a reasonable price point.
The food was surprisingly good for a hole in the wall
So good. Been to I, II, and III!
I am not a vegan. The restaurant was excellent.
Tasteless cuisine
Great intimate whole in the wall place with an amazing menu! The dumplings, spicy fried rice with shrimp and the teriyaki chicken were delicious! 👍🏼👍🏼
My new favorite vegetarian place. I'll definitely be back. Everything was delicious.
Food so good! Reccomend the orange «chicken»
This was my first time eating here. I had the vegetable spring rolls, papaya salad and green curry with brown rice. Everything was delicious though not quite as spicy as I like. I will know better next time because I will definitely be going again. Service is reasonably fast, very clean place with lovely music. They also do take out.
Very good customer service. Portions are healthy and shareable. The veggie spring rolls were delicious.
Good food
They take a break from 4:00 to 5:00 pm. Drove 30 min for nothing. That info no where to be found.
