We are a Thai family-run restaurant introducing traditional Thai cuisine to Santa Barbara since 1983.
Best Thai in town. Real authentic Thai with delicious fresh ingredients and very nice staff. Hard to find real Thai in this town but this is your spot. Large menu with offerings for all tastes. Really delicious and winner of best Thai in town for decades. The duck, soups and fish dishes are phenomenal.
Ok we ordered the drunken noodles with shrimp and steamed basil garlic fish. Drunken noodles were good but the star was definitely the fish! Outstanding, I could not get enough of the sauce. Very nice appropriate decor and music . Medium hot spice was perfect. I'll be back for more.
We were very unhappy with our experience here. We came in with a large group (8 people) with a few older members in our party with dietary limitations. When we placed our order, our server insisted we order an additional 2 dishes to “make sure our business can run”. The food then was just fine. Just fine. Not great.
Would not recommend if you’re looking for a nice dinner experience.
My family came into this place for an early dinner after following reviews on the internet and recommendations on Reddit for visitors in Santa Barbara. I am astounded by how bad the service was and how mid the food was. First of all, when ordering - our lady waitress demanded we order two more dishes in order to “keep the business running”. When we asked if we could first order what we did and then see if we needed more, she said no. When the food came, it was alright. Nothing special or spectacular. Taken together with our experience during ordering and the alright food, I personally would not recommend this place to anyone else again.
To the business if you read this, I would suggest working on your customer service, not forcing us to order food we didn’t want to eat, and making it clear if you have a minimum dishes you require customers to order.
TLDR: avoid this place, there are better Thai restaurants in Santa Barbara
Delicious! Loved the papaya salad; it was such a unique and tasty flavor with a bit of sugar. The drunken noodle spicy dish with beef was also absolutely delicious and flavorful, but the beef itself was pretty low quality. The tofu pad Thai was not very good as it wasn’t very flavorful but still, the other 2 dishes were absolutely amazing.
We actually ended up visiting here 3 times because the drunken noodles and papaya salad were so delicious!
UPDATE: Feb 2025
Nothing has changed...and that's.STILL good. Panang curry mild, Thom Ka Kai soup best in town. Thai iced tea tops it all off!!
UPDATE: Aug 2024
Nothing has changed... And that's very good! PS garlic green beans are also great!
The best Thai food in Santa Barbara. I've enjoyed this restaurant since 1982. In 40 years it's still the best. The Thum Ka Kai has the right balance of soupy and creamy, the right amount of lemongrass, big pieces of chicken, large mushrooms, and a good amount of cilantro. The Panang curry is better than anywhere I've tasted including in Thailand. It is not too spicy because my palette doesn't enjoy that, but is not at all bland. This curry too is creamy in texture. The crispy wontons are delicious with two sauces, the Thai tea is very satisfying and the services very attentive. Food was out on a Sunday lunch within 5 minutes.
I recommend it highly!
Good food. Ordered the spicy drunken noodles and they never disappoint me, my go-to spot for excellent thai food,.

Second time my husband & I came here & we absolutely loved it. The food is absolutely delicious & the portions are really big (we got two mains with rice on the side & are taking an entire meal home)!
Thanks for being open Xmas!
Overpriced. Smells funky in the restaurant. The servers were kind though.
I ordered the rhad nah noodles to go. Wow. The beef was fine but it was so bad. It was soupy and gross looking. Very unappealing presentation and the noodles were just smothered in this soupy sauce. So I feel like I was punished for branching out from my regular pad see ew. I guess I'll order it somewhere else I doubt I'll be going back here anytime soon. The pictures looked nothing like what I got in the box.
Best Thai in SB!
I went to this restaurant in August and had a very otherworldly experience.
When I reached at the restaurant, it was supposed to close in an hour and a half(at least).
After entering, server greeted and I requested a booth considering I was with my family which has 1 six yeas old and an infant.
Looking at my kids, server flatly refused me to give an empty booth even though there were plenty.
After I pressed hard, finally I was assigned one. I asked why he was refusing and he told me with a straight face that they generally don't assign booth to family with kids as kids tend to be messy.
Then dinner came and we were having our dinner and after some time another lady started asking us if we need anything.
I politely told her that we don't need anything right now and will let her know.
She came back again in 10 mins and told us kitchen was about to close and I was like Okay, I still don't need anything.
Then she came back with the check, which I promptly paid and went back to my dinner. We were also feeding our infant at the same time.
Lady came again to see how we are doing which started to irritate me. She told me that the restaurant is about to close in some time.
So, we started to hurry up but of course with young kids you can only do so much.
Then lady came back again and flatly asked if we were done. I said no and I will just need couple of more minutes.
She went back and straight away came back with to go boxes and told us that the restaurant is closed. I quickly checked their hours and they were still 15 mins away from closing.
It was so humiliating that we wrapped up everything and left with still some food on the table. I never let my food go to waste but it had to be done.
Overall, food was okay but DO NOT visit this place with kids. They are absolutely NOT KID FRIENDLY. I have never had this kind of experience in my life before (and I have travelled continents) and vow to never go back to this place.
My favorite shrimp in garlic with almonds add a little white rice yummy
my favorite restaurant in town!
We ordered to go a Pad Thai and a Tom Yum soup. The soup was just ok and missing some taste. The Pad Thai was the worse we ever got : totally tasteless and dry for both the pasta and chicken. On top of that the owner did not say thank you when we paid. Such a bad experience that we cannot recommend this place.
BTW we ate the food like 5min maximum after we got it ... so no need to say our issue was because the Pad Thai was cold.
Friendly staff, quick service, and consistently delicious food. My favorites are the green curry and the drunken noodles but I have loved everything I have ordered here. Highly recommend.
best thai food in sb! i always recommend this place when my friends want thai food and i crave it all the time
Yummy!
Love this place! We went to eat here for the first time for an early dinner and loved everything! Service was great, food came out fast, the interior design is nice, and the dishes we got were delicious. We ordered the eggplant basil tofu, golden fried tofu, and pad see ew with chicken and shrimp.
Your Thai in Santa Barbara is, without a doubt, the best Thai food in California, if not the entire United States. From the moment you step into the restaurant, you're greeted with a warm, inviting atmosphere that sets the stage for an unforgettable dining experience.
The authenticity and depth of flavor in every dish are simply unparalleled. Each bite transports you straight to the streets of Thailand, with dishes that are perfectly balanced and exquisitely prepared. The garlic sauce is a harmonious blend of sweet, savory, and tangy, while the panang Curry offers a rich, creamy texture with just the right amount of spice. Their spicy fried rice is a symphony of flavors, combining the perfect amount of heat with fresh, vibrant ingredients.
What truly sets Your Thai apart is their commitment to using fresh, high-quality ingredients, which is evident in every bite. The presentation of the dishes is both beautiful and appetizing, adding to the overall exceptional dining experience.
Moreover, the service at Your Thai is outstanding. The staff are knowledgeable, friendly, and passionate about sharing the culinary traditions of Thailand with their guests. They go above and beyond to ensure that every visitor feels welcome and leaves satisfied.
If you're a fan of Thai cuisine or simply looking for an extraordinary meal, Your Thai in Santa Barbara is a must-visit. It's a true gem that elevates Thai dining to new heights, making it a standout choice for anyone seeking the best Thai food.
Delicious food and wonderful service!! Thai iced tea and mango sticky rice are the best i’ve ever had. Recommend the drunken noodles and basil chicken as well. Very authentic and decor is very traditional.
Good food
Food was decent but portions were small for the price. Spicy noodles had no spice at all
MOST AUTHENTIC Thai place in town. Pad Thai and pad see ew = perfection, you could taste the “wok’s breath” (the intense heat flavor from stir frying with a wok) in their noodles. Also must try their thai tea!
Very low quality food. This is as basic as it gets. Try Empty Bowl. We will not be coming back.
I have been coming here for year's, it has always been really good.
We recently moved out of State, but it's the first place I go to when I come visit every couple of month's. I don't know if they have a new chef/owner, but the last few times I've eaten here it's been awful. The garlic pepper beef tastes like leather. They used to put a lot of lettuce in it, but not anymore. My mom got the tofu curry, and they hardly put any tofu or potatoes in it, she didn't like it either. I will give it a try one more time, next time I visit. If it's awful again, I won't be eating here anymore. I am so disappointed. I really look forward to eating here to.
I will update next time I'm here.
Maybe they were having an off night, but the Panang Curry was not good at all -- no vegetables except two tiny slivers of red pepper and no heat even though I ordered medium hot. Flavor was flat and completely bland unlike typical Thai food. I was so disappointed as I had tried two other Thai places in SB and they were much, much better. On the up side - my husband said his garlic pepper with beef was good (although again no veg) and the service was very friendly and quick.
So yummy
Food was very good with decent price and good portions; service was lackluster at best. Atmosphere was adequate. Overall seems like it’s designed more for take out than dining in
I love the Thai Ice Tea and the Pad See Ew.
Excellent quality food, consistent flavor and service. There's a reason why they've been here so many years.
Best Thai food restaurant in Santa Barbara!
This is the worst Thai restaurant I have ever eaten. The experience is very poor. The meat is really terrible, just like it has been left for a long time. This experience is terrible. Several people in the same trade can eat the meat problem, but the chef also said that it was no problem, and he was speechless. This store should review the quality of food.
I would HIGHLY recommend this place. My group and I are visiting from out of town and we all enjoyed our food very much. Two of us got curry dishes (panang and yellow) and the others got pad thai and drunken noodles. The staff was kind and attentive and prices were reasonable. I had yellow curry and it was some of the best I've had.The atmosphere is cute cozy. If I lived in the area, I'd be a regular here.
Best Thai food we've had in years. Great flavor. The staff was very attentive. Definitely recommend it.
Thai food, delicious 😋.
Staff is friendly and ones they get to know you they consider you family
Great little place....nice decor. Super sweet server, attentive. We stopped in for a late lunch/early dinner. The food was fantastic!! It was fresh and served hot. The price for entrees is relative. The portions were big. The place is clean. I live in a place where typical dining out in a sit down restaurant, which makes food from scratch starts at 8-15.00$, so it was fine with us. Some reviewers complained of prices and portions. We had a great experience and will return again and again.
Super Leckeres Pad Thai. Frisch gekocht, heiß, geschmacklich gut abgestimmt. Super Service, sehr nette Bedienung.
Wir waren mit unserem Besuch sehr zufrieden und können das Restaurant nur weiterempfehlen.
Best Thai food in town. Great people. Satay has always been a favorite.
Nice little authentic thai restaurant off milpas. Quick and friendly service. Usually good amount of people here, but you won't wait long. Parking is OK,
Really great food with great customization options, seating can be a bit crowded but it’s a great place!
Delicious food, Amazing service and fenomenal drinks.. waitress Sherley so wonderful, and courteous.. Recommended 100 %
Tom Kah always tasty. Service was fast and good during lunch hour.
Best Thai food in town! Great vegan options just ask for no fish sauce. Love this place!
I've come here a total of three times throughout a 15 yr time span. First two times, the food was horrible. We did not finish our dishes. And this third time, the food was edible. But it seemed dirty, from cobwebs around the entirety of the place to the dishes looking like they hadn't been washed properly. I'm honestly surprised they are still in business.
great family run joint, the chef has been there for 35 years. been coming here since before i was born! it’s a santa barbara staple for me, i come every time i’m in town. the pad see ew, pineapple fried rice, tom kah gai, all curries, and the mango sticky rice are my go-tos. it makes me miss thailand! shout out to this wonderful family for keeping my own fed over the years <3
So amazing have been coming to this place for years. As a soup lover, Tom kah soup is out of this world, I haven’t been able to find a place that can make it the same. Panag curry and pineapple fried rice are also favorites
Been coming here since I was Vegan in 1999. ¡Viva Your Place!
Oops. Update:
We ordered take out and it was some of the worst Thai food I’ve had in years. Not sure what happened in recent years but the staff was short on the phone and seemingly did not listen to any of the details regarding spice. Bland and not recommended.
Food was super tasty and fast! The yellow curry was perfectly cozy!
As per usual the Chicken Pa-Nang curry is delicious and one of my favorite things on the planet. It’s just such a scam though when you’re paying $18+ dollars for curry and the charge you extra for RICE. I’ve never seen someone eat curry without rice. If you need to raise prices then do that, but having RICE be extra with a curry dish is inexcusable..
Nice food, warm service, Thai ice tea was specially good
The panang curry here is out of this world while the pad thai and mango sticky rice are excellent. Dishes can be requested to be made vegetarian friendly i.e. without fish sauce. Our favorite thai restaurant in southern california.
Food isn't as good as put out by the many reviews. Had soup noodles but the noodles weren't well cooked and the meat was not fresh. The service was okay though.
Phenomenal thai food, the best in Santa Barbara. Made faster than anywhere else. Please try this mom and pop
Totally disappointing experience! My family were in town visiting SB! I thought this place will be a great choice for being authentic where I can find real Thai. However, this place made me forget about Thai food for quite some time. Not a very clean place, the kitchen. Relatively poor service! Surprised to see they are still serving water in stained re-usable old cups. Do yourself and “Your Place” a favor: either upgrade or lower your prices. I wouldn’t pay more than 50% of what you charged us today. I am doing this favor to let people know there are much better Thai places you can try. This place is absolutely a “NO GO”!
A top three favorite food spot in Santa Barbara… definitely #1 for Thai food. The curries are a favorite (highly recommend the Panang), as well as cashew nut chicken.
Our top favorite is the Tom Kah soup, which is the best you will find anywhere! Order a large in the hot pot and you are in for a flaming treat. Easily feeds 2 as a meal, and up to 4 or 5 for an appetizer.
Also the Thai Iced tea is perfect!
Best yellow curry I've eaten in years - choice of chicken or tofu, I had the latter and would have ordered a second bowl if I hadn't been so full. Prices seem reasonable. Will definitely be back soon.
I ordered for my office of 30 people, everyone was happy with their order. I had customizations on nearly every order. I sent them my order a day before, and they had everything hot and ready by the time I requested. Will order from them again .
Warm and cozy for the rainy days
I ordered pad thai combo, it’s sooo good, and authentic. They are also super nice and efficient.
Very expensive.
Lunch special dosen't come with soup..extremely disappointing.
They give you spring roll...which was not tasty at all.
Overall will not be going there again..
Best Thai Food in Santa Barbara. My favorite restaurant. Good service, and a cozy place to enjoy with family and friends.
Always delicious and super friendly
You could easily drive past it, but you shouldn't! Super sweet staff and really solid Thai! Was passing through SB and had a craving and they nailed it. Ordered four dishes and they were all at least on par with what we get up in the SF Bay Area. Definitely recommend.
Best Thai food in Santa Barbara! Huge portions 👍👍
This is the best Thai food you will find anywhere! My favorite: Spicy eggplant tofu!
My go-to place for Thai on SB Eastside. I love the peanut sauce/spinach/rice but my friends swear by the curries.
I’m a big fan of Thai food and have been to this restaurant a few times over the years. Unfortunately, it continues to disappoint. If you’re looking for a good bang for buck, this is not the place. You’ll be paying top dollar for mediocre at best dishes. Don’t you dare expect the service staff to be attentive or nice.
We gave this place a try again recently, just to be disappointed again. It seems the food quality deteriorated even further along with the quality of service (it’s the same servers, they’re just worse). We ordered the panag curry which came out bland and veggie free. When we communicated that we had order it prior and it was not the same, the staff shamed us, argued that we’re wrong and made it an extremely awkward situation. We ask to try the green curry which also came out watery, bland and had no veggies other than soggy old thin bamboo shoots.
Don’t waste your money on this place. They clearly don’t get it.
The food is below average and prepared without love. We paid almost $60 for two simple main meals, two drinks and a dessert. The prices on the menu were listed without tax, so that was on top of it. During the payment process, the owner, a Thai woman, watched us and saw that I didn't give a tip. She then asked if I would like to pay the tip in cash, to which I replied that I did not want to give a tip because the price of the food was very high, the service was anything but outstanding, and the tax was not clearly stated. The woman then began an angry discussion in which she tried to get us to tip her 15%. When we explained to her that we are not used to this in Europe and find it excessive with the astronomical prices, she became more and more aggressive and finally left our table scolding all the other guests to turn around.
Anyone who is not willing to pay a $9 tip for poor service and below average food should beware of entering this local!
really good taste
Everyone enjoyed every dish! Service was fast and frequent!
Good food and service. Good portions.
The food is great and the service attentive. Highly recommend!
We have eaten here for years because it is convenient - there's lots of parking. We love the atmosphere. The staff is always polite and don't laugh at our attempts at the Thai language. We mostly love the incredible food. We always order Pad Thai, Panang Chicken, a Shrimp dish, broccoli with oyster sauce is excellent. I love the Thai Iced tea as well. We love eating there in the evenings if it's not crowded - otherwise, get it to go and walk. We have been to Thailand many times and I find this is authentic and delicious. A great place to meet friends as the tables have lots of room.
Whenever in SB, it is a must for us!
Food good
La comida tiene un sabor increíble, mantiene a sus clientes frecuentes contentos gracias a sus deliciosos platillos, el servicio es increíble, atienden con gran actitud.
Had Korean BBQ chicken & Spring rolls
Chicken dry. Spring rolls greasy tasted like old oil🙁 The saving dish is Lemon grass soup, fantastic..
The IRIE BOMB FOOD ROOTS 🇪🇹
Not the best Thai restaurant I have ever been to, but definitely the best in Santa Barbara by a long shot. Somewhat off the beaten path of State Street, but not by much and worth any extra effort to make it here.
Not a sit-down place. Food was decent but we were greeted extremely rudely by the serving person and what seemed to be the manager of the restaurant because we asked for cutlery!! 5 of us eating here and we were served exactly 3 forks and 0 spoons / knives. We needed atleast one fork and one spoon per person to eat rice but ended up with only 4 forks in total and had to share the serving cutlery amongst 5 of us. Most bizarre restaurant experience!
I finally found my go to Thai spot! My husband and I lived in NY for a number of years and haven’t been able to find our Thai replacement. I love this spot… they nail the spice levels and the ingredients are fresh. Price is very reasonable and staff is friendly and helpful.
Good Thai food, but not to the standards we are used to. Good overall.
Great Thai food, only problem were the curries because they were more sweet than anything.
Yum yum. Give me some
Excellent authentic Thai food. Wait staff was gracious and accommodating. Highly recommend.
Good food! There were 3 of us and we each ordered something different and everyone enjoyed theirs!
Best Thai in SB. Low-key. Great food.
Our go-Thai restaurant in town. Curries are great and so is the Pad Thai! Must get the spicy pickled chilis on the side!
Good service & food portions.
Best Thai food in town
You can never go wrong with the Tom Yum soup, white rice, and Thai tea! It’s a must when we go there! Staff is very welcoming!
Deliciosa comida la recomiendo
I know this place is supposed to be wonderful, but I've never had much luck there myself. We were just there last night for a takeout order. We were on time. The chicken as always was overcooked, and the pad thai was oddly dry. It was in the middle of the evening meal, so it shouldn't have been sitting too long. It wasn't my idea to go there and hopefully we won't go back. Can't blame it on covid, we've gotten take out from other places and it's been very good.
Oh, My God! The food was sooo good. I had chicken pad Thai (medium spicy) it was tge perfect amount for one person.
The service was so nice. It was quiet and comfortable.
Drinks are served by the can. Go try it, it will make you happy.
TomKha is extremely salty and sour, very expensive and not a good one (Been to Southeast Asia and other restaurants around the world)
Chow Mein noodles with beef - It’s hard to cook something sore disgusting. What a waste.
Quick service though - 15 min for pick up. No wonder why.
Best Thai food in Santa Barbara!
Authentic, delicious Thai food. Large portions. I love that when I walk inside, it reminds me of Thailand (instead of a place with some bougie modern American twist). Staff are kind and friendly. If you're looking for authentic food and an authentic experience, this is it.
Great food
Great
Fast and courteous service.
Delicious food.
Nothing gluten free and vegan. (Can get one or the other but not both)
I used one of my credit cards, she went back to the kitchen and came back Asking for a different card. Because the transaction was supposedly declined. Besides the embarrassment of having to change my card in front of other clients the lady charged both cards the amount due. Check your balance and card activity on your phones when you buy food there :/ food is great, to me the best Thai food in SB, but these little mistakes are not supposed to happen in a business I can easily say they stole from me...
This business is allowing customers to enter without a mask on during the Covid lockdown. Careful....
Food is tasty, no working toilets and staff are a bit abrupt
Semi Decent Thai food with terrible service. Never got checked on, left all the dirty plates between courses, No left water glass empty the entire stay. Refused to honor Yelp check in reward on Thai ice tea with purchase of entree. The duck in the curry tasted way past it's expireration date. I was nauseous before I could even make it home. It's a shame, because this place used to be really good.
I won't make the mistake of eating there again.
Great food and service
Excellent food the ambience made it very home style dining, felt like i was at a family's home
Local's secret Thai restaurant; large menu, crazy busy, authentic and tasty. Although slammed, staff was gracious, courteous and helpful. And prices are quite fair, offering good value. We'll be back.
Used to love this place. Service is great. Folks are nice. For this time was only "ok";
I've been eating here for over 40 years, always great food. The Tom Kah is the best in town.
One of the best Thai restaurants in town.
Excellent food and service. Your Place has been a family favorite for quite some time now.
I reccomend the Tum Yum. Friendly service.
Probably the best Thai restaurant in Santa Barbara. Their pineapple fried rice is unbeatable. Recently moved to LA, but I try to visit every time I’m back in SB. So good.
