Relaxed Thai restaurant serving curries, noodles & more in a warm, traditional space.
"We had a delightful dining experience with very flavorful Thai dishes that weren't overly sweet, which I truly enjoyed. Our favorites were the Vegetable Pad Kee Mao, Chicken Yellow Coconut Curry, Fried Spring Rolls, and Jasmine Rice. The portion size was ample for the two of us, and the pricing was fair for the area. Our server, who managed the service solo, provided excellent service to every customer. If given the opportunity, we would definitely return. Our dinner was thoroughly enjoyable."
This restaurant nails everything. Price, speed, quality. I ordered the beef pad Thai lunch special, my goodness. What a wonderful meal, I will reccomend everyone I know to this place from now on. I will be back many many times!
The food here has never disappointed me. I love the garlic noodles. I have had them with chicken and tofu. Both were great. The avocado cream cheese puffs are so good! I have to come here every time I am in SLO. My whole family loves this place and we always leave full and happy! 😊
Absolutely delicious and reasonable dining- especially for SLO! We were seated immediately and ordered an appetizer of Crispy Wontons. They were fresh, and the sweet and sour dipping sauce had a little spicy kick to it, which I really liked. We had the Chicken Pad Thai and Glass Noodle soup. Both were delicious and filling. Note on the Pad Thai- they have 5 spice levels. I got level 2, and my nose was running, but the flavor was still amazing. I'll do a level 1 next time. Would 100% recommend!
While searching for a place to gave dinner, we came across this one. Thai food is ranked #3 in our list if favorites. The place was empty and we got service quickly. Everything was delicious, we ordered calamari appetizer, Tom Yum soup, steam rice and chicken fried rice
Portions were generous and fed the party of 3 😁 Thai iced tea and Singha 🍺
We live next door. Just got take out earlier with my husband . It was super good ! Fresh! And the gal was so nice when we picked it up. What a good dinner choice. Take out is rad - they don't forget anything! Thank youuu.

Just recently discovered this place in SLO! By far, the best thai food in SLO. Thai restaurants tend to be hit or miss in California but this place is up there with some of the great Thai restaurants that I've been to in bigger cities and the Bay Area. The atmosphere is very nice and the service is great! Highly reccommend!

My last trip to Thai-rrific was a little bit of a disappointment after all the years I've been going to this restaurant and knowing the former owner. First thing I noticed was they ripped out all the ivy around the outside the restaurant and they ripped out the the Thailand props they had outside as well. The ivy was iconic for this particular restaurant because it was always there for the past 40 years, so I was completely disappointed that they did something that basically ruined the look of the restaurant. Second thing was the food has changed, the legendary coconut soup with a flame under it they got rid of that which they only serving a bowl now. Third thing is the prices were just outrageously expensive. I was just shocked to see how much they increased their prices, I understand inflation but they just went way overboard on their prices. The fourth thing is there was only two people working there, one server and then a cook in the back that's it. How can a restaurant function with only two employees and they're charging so much for their food? It doesn't make any sense. I really didn't want to leave a negative review on this business because I knew Sam and this is not Sam's restaurant anymore because the new owner apparently has decided to change the rules and I'm not a big fan of what he's done. The food wasn't terrible but I was disappointed that the new owner has decided to change some of the originality of the restaurant that's been known for it. I'm just very sad that they're trying to change something that should never have been changed.

Closed July 1-4 even if google maps says it is open.
Our go-to Thai restaurant for lunch! Great service and yummy! Can't forget the Thai Iced Tea!
Our favorite Thai restaurant in SLO!
One of the best and cleanest Thai restaurants I’ve been to in SLO
I only went here for a thai tea, which was delicious. It's under construction right now but still open. My only issue was that I paid $4.50 for a medium thai tea and it was like 4oz drink and all ice. I then immediately went across the street to slo doco and got a bigger drink, it just wasn't quite as yummy. They do use a good brand though, real tea leaves. Here is the two next to eachother
This place is great! If you're eating in or taking it to go. My experience with both have always been pleasant. The service is great and the food is amazing! Stop by and I bet it'll be on your list!
Had a great dinner here while traveling. Nice atmosphere, reasonable prices for tasty food, and the staff were very kind (and got a kick out of my husband's excessive penchant for spicy food). Would definitely eat here again.
I travel almost every week around the country and this is one of the best places I have ever eaten
Amazing Thai food! Loved the Pad Kee Mao, the Garlic Noodles with Shrimp and the appetizers. They really have incredible shrimp… better than any Thai restaurant I’ve ever eaten at.
Love the atmosphere. It's cozy and comfortable. It's my favorite restaurant in SLO for when I'm feeling tired and want something peaceful and yummy.

Very slow service, with a total of 4 customers. 😭
Solid Thai in SLO. Good for dine-in or take-out

Great food, good price, decent portions.
The best Thai restaurant in town
Nice little place. Was not very busy for lunch but the food and service were both good. It continues to impress. Very good dinner recently
One lady ran the whole restaurant when we were there. Amazing 👏
Best lunch deal on the Central Coast -- and I eat at all of them. Yummy food, generous Thai tea. I'd give it five if it were hoity-toity. But if you're good with intimate and low-key, this place is bomb!
Not bad. Portions are slightly on the smaller end, but overall not horrible. May go again if I am really hungry.
Everything was proper. Nice space and great food.
Had high hopes for this place, as Thai is one of my favorite cuisines, but was disappointed with the lack of flavor. The noodles from the Pad See Ew were just that... ew. Soggy and overly marinated in soy sauce. It's all I could taste. The Prik King was not flavorful but the green beans were cooked perfectly. Only came with two scraggly pieces of chicken though, which is great for a vegetarian dish, but not what I had ordered. Overall, I would say this was not worth the $50 I spent. I'll stick to my usual Thai Boat. Flavorful and reliable.
Omg The food here is AMAZING 👏🏾 Decent prices well Worth it as everyone meal ordered was scrumptious 😋
Delicious are rarely too crowded.
Absolutely wonderful Thai food. Try the delicious Wonton soup and the sticky mango rice for the dessert
Cozy little place, with delicious food. We had the fresh rolls, and avocado curry. What an interesting twist on curry. Never had it before, will definitely get that dish again if we're in the area.
The service was really good inspite of them being short staffed and busy with to go orders.
Good food and service 👌
Don’t know about the food because we went to the restaurant on a Sat at 8PM (8/27/22) and were told there’s no dine-in option, only takeout, even though chairs and tables were all set up for customers. The restaurant was empty and it was an hour away from closing time. We had a hungry toddler so this was a really bad experience. To the owners: please answer the phone and please remove the dine-in option if not available on a Sat night.
Spicy chicken fried rice was very best
The best Thai place in SLO!
After living in LA for a few years, this is the only place I trust to have a good panang curry.
Absolut empfehlenswert - authentische Thai-Küche!
While searching for a place to gave dinner, we came across this one. Thai food is ranked #3 in our list if favorites. The place was empty and we got service quickly. Everything was delicious, we ordered calamari appetizer, Tom Yum soup, steam rice and chicken fried rice

Not what it used to be.
Quiet little place that you really can enjoy your meal
Very good crab fried rice yummy!
I love everything at Thai-rrific! The food is incredible.
Excellent green curry. The lemon chicken is fantastic for those who aren't looking for spicy food.
Yum! I love Thai food and Thai-triffic was delicious. Bright and fresh flavors and not oily and heavy.
Our server was great as well. I’ll be back!
New owners changed the menu, took away the best dishes. No sriracha chicken or coconut bbq chicken. New food is mediocre at best.
Good food, lunch prices are worth it
I really really wanted to like this new Thairrific. I loved the old one. I know it's more expensive but if the food is improved, it's not a problem. The first time I went in I ordered a traditional Thai street food spicy noodle soup. We used to live in LA and I miss the Thai Town version. This was not bad, and I would have given this new owner 4 out of 5 stars just for having it on the menu.
But then I went back, hopeful, and ordered a lunch portion of Pad Kra Pow, a stir fry spicy basil dish every Thai restaurant in the Central Coast serves. It's a basic dish that reveals how good a Thai restaurant is at doing the classics. Now I've tried this in almost every other Thai place within 40 min, and I am SO disappointed to report it is awful, like 1 star awful. I feel bad saying this, but it just is. It's watery, bland, with too little meat. I can't remember when I've had a bad version of this dish. Even the unexciting ones I've had were at least tasty. This was so bland and watery I actually felt cheated of my $12 and sorely missing old Thairrific's simple, cheap but always tasty dishes, especially the unique sambal chicken.
Maybe their dinner portions are better, I don't know, Yelp reviews aren't reassuring so far. Every lunch special I've eaten at other local Thai places were good barometers of the overall food quality, because why wouldn't they be? It's generally not good business to skimp on teaser items that pull customers in for more expensive dinner meals.
There are many Thai restaurants in the area - they're either cheap and good or more expensive but offer higher quality ingredients/more unique items. Thairrific seems to be occupying a precarious perch as fancier Thai dining with unfortunately little attention to food quality and consistency. Thairrific v2 would do well to learn from rock star veterans in their price bracket - Thai Palace in SLO. Always consistently good, always happy to pay more.
What a shame, I had high hopes! Since there's nothing on their dinner menu that other Thai places aren't already rocking cheaper and better, I doubt I'll be back much, if at all. I sincerely hope hope they improve their lunch specials.
The Pad Thai was delicious!
I love this Thai restaurant. Their green curry is delicious and the eggplant in it is prepared perfectly. You can't go wrong.
Was empty on a Friday night.. Was a little skeptical but the food was great.. We ordered the veggie rolls and veggie fried rice (spiciness 4/5) and it tested great.. Customer service was great
The cooking here is the most authentic, straight-off-the-boat Thai food you will ever have in this area. Totally yummy. And "A," the owner, oversees every detail to ensure a memorable culinary experience. Kind-hearted people. Lovely atmosphere. Terrific food!
The food is delicious! Small menu, but the best Thai food I've have in a long time. This will definitely be our San Luis Obispo to-go restaurant.
Put your dinner menu on your site!!! We can't order if we don't know what you have.
We finally got to go after 3 years. They are closed on Sundays, days we traveled through. Then the pandemic happened, and finally last week Monday we got there after 4pm and the food was just as great as in our memories. A must to go of in the area and if not on a Sunday 😀
My favorite Thai restaurant in the world. Make sure to try their specials (like sesame ginger beef, red curried snapper, lemongrass chicken etc) rather just the Thai restaurant standards
It was Thai riffect😁👍😁
The food is equelivent to a school lunch because the fried rice it cheap and the ribs were to sweet and are cheap. Btw all the reviews I think are fake
Had the yellow curry and vegetable fried rice. Amazing! Would highly recommend
The food was so good, we ordered:
Pad thai, spicy sausage fried rice and pork curry.
Delicious
Asked for “very spicy” after reading some other reviews and our mouths were on fire! Good food though!
Great food, they are locally owned and can use our support. If you are looking for some great food at a fair price this is a great place.
Great tasty meals.
One of our favorites, try the sesame ginger beef!
The green curry with eggplant and Ba Mee Haeng are my favorites.
Amazing Kai is pow, very spicy!
4 stars b/c they are smaller portions than the previous owners. The Pad Thai is about 2/3rds the size than with previous owners. But I'm just happy they are still open in SLO! Best Pad Thai.
Holy sweet potatoes. And lemongrass chicken. And everything! This is an excellent, authentic Thai restaurant.
This place is absolutely, hands down, the best Thai place in Slo. My husband and I have been coming here for over 11 years. We had one of our first dates here, and now we are married and bring our kiddo. The food is AMAZING and the service is next level. They treat us like family when we come in and I haven't seen that in any other Thai place in the area. The Kai Ka Pow is my FAVORITE!!
Small mom and pop shop. Not far off the freeway. Little hard to find. But worth it. Food was good. Thai coffee could've been a bit stronger and sweeter. But would visit again.
Best deal on Tai food in SLO. My wife and I have date night here every other month or so and are always pleased with the service and yummy tai entree selections.
"I think they did pretty damn well"- my dining partner.
I always get phad thai at thai restaurants but ever since i tried the phad bah mee here i get that every time. Its amazing. Our Fresh Rolls were very good and the sauces that came with were great! The lemon grass barbecue chicken was pretty good! The chicken was chewy but the sauce was delectable! I cant even begin to describe the flavor it was so interesting and tasty. Ive come here many times and i dont plan on stopping.
What a lovely gem. Service staff was genuinely friendly and attentive. Beverage refills on point, fresh and flavorful food! Try the curries! We were given a free Thai tea!
It really lives up to its name. Mild is actually quite mild, so order according to your tastes.
Red Curry is very good
Excellent place! The food is great and has very Large portions. The staff is very friendly.
This place has never disappointed my family. I come from LA, visiting on n off. I made it a Mandatory stop before heading home. They are attentive and welcoming. They ate authentic and bring people together with their food. If u haven't yet, u need to get in there ASAP
Love the food
The best friend rice ever for lunch
Amazing service. We had the gluten free pad thai and it was very flavorful and the texture was perfect. Highly recommend.
Had a great dinner with huge portions. It was the least expensive meal I have had since I've been here. Really spicy and delicious
Food is ok and was not tasting like authentic thai food. We ordered the 4 out of 5 level spicy, but the dishes were not up to par to that level. Don't order the lemongrass chicken dish 🤢
If you want Thai food that is a gift from the heavens, please always go to Thai-riffic. It's amazing and the staff is so incredible.
Love the food!🥰
This place sucks A$$ never again if you want Thai food dont stop here 🤢
I was not expecting tasty Thai food after the reviews from others. I was pleasantly surprised by the freshness and tastiness of the offerings. I will go back again.
I used to go here very frequently when I was attending college. Very good food for the price, and extraordinarily friendly staff :)
Good little Thai place. Not as spicy as others but good. The garlic pepper sauce was very good but the noodles were a little bland. Service was fast.
Place was okay. Coming from a city full of authentic thai cuisine and a diverse community, I can tell this place lacks in authenticity and the food is very basic, to the point of it being white washed thai food. Nothing wrong with that at all but definitely not the place to go for an authentic experience or tasting real thai food.
Great atmosphere. Friendly wait staff. Service a tad slow today. Food is good and authentic.
Great yellow curry with bone in chicken thighs!
On the bright side, this is the only Thai restaurant in town with parking and reliable hours. Sadly, that’s about the only upsides. The wait people look more like janitorial staff, and their demeanor has about that much spunk. The food is uninspired, to put it mildly. Disappointing meal, ate almost none of mine.
My wife and I live in San Diego and our go to Thai restaurant is finest Thai. We were Visiting San Luis Obispo and saw this restaurant. It's Thai food but no we're done as well as the restaurant we go to in San Diego. I wish I could give it more stars but I really can't
Delicious food and friendly staff. Best Thai food i have ever had!
This place is amazing! I love Thai food and have eaten at many different places over the years and Thai-rriffic is one of the best! I moved to this area about six months ago and Thai-rriffic is just down the street. I have been wanting to go since the first time I saw their restaurant. I finally ordered takeout last night and I am so upset with myself for not going there sooner. I got the Pahd Thai with tofu because it is my fave Thai dish so I judge all Thai restaurants by how they make it. If they can't make Pad Thai right, then I don't go back. The Pad Thai sauce was flavored differently than what I'm used to but it was absolutely amazing! And even though the food was in a paper box they had still taken the time to garnish it beautifully. I also got their Sweet Potato appetizer. Oh my! What a treat for the taste buds! This dish is sweet potato slices dipped in coconut and sesame batter and fried. The batter was light and airy and was fried to perfection. Each piece was golden brown and the sweet potato slice inside was perfectly tender. They are served with what they call a pickled chili-cucumber-peanut relish. The relish is more of a clear thin tangy sauce with small pieces of cucumber, finely chopped peanuts, and a small spoonful of chili sauce layered on top so you can mix according to taste. My tastebuds came alive with the first taste of this delightful sauce. It is one of the most delicious things I have ever tasted. The spice and tang of the relish pairs perfectly with the sweetness of the sweet potatoes. I cannot recommend this appetizer enough. Though I must warn you that you will grieve when the last piece is gone. If you eat at Thai-rriffic without ordering the sweet potatoes, you have truly done yourself a disservice. In addition to some of the best Thai food I have ever had the pleasure of consuming, I will return to Thai-rriffic for the service and atmosphere. The gentleman who took my order was very friendly and helpful. He said my order would be ready in fifteen minutes but it was much quicker than that. Their dining area is quaint and cozy and would make a lovely place to enjoy a long leisurely meal and conversation with your favorite dinner dates.
Always good 👌
Always the best thai food restaurant
Great prices and speedy service for orders to go. Decent Thai inspired. I had the Tom Ka Vegetable and Khao Soi to go and they were ok. Willing to try other dishes there but will only have them as dine in.
good
Very good Thai food 👌. Ordered sesame ginger ribs with steamed rice for $8.95 lunch special. Husband ordered the BBQ coconut chicken steamed rice $7.95 lunch special. Also ordered an order of pad Thai to share. The ribs where short rib style and so juicy nice and crispy on edges. Such a deal for the cut off beef and amount you are served. BBQ thai coconut chicken was devoured by my husband. The pad Thai is also good we always order this menu item when we go to Thai. I love the quaint feel of the restaurant itself and the food and service is impeccable.
Found a rubber band in my roll. The owner acted like he didn't Care. will never go back.
Delicious food, we have been coming here for years and have never been disappointed. Great service and prices are reasonable.
A small and quaint long standing restaurant, with a tasty menu.
Excellent as always!
Great food, amazing service and atmosphere.
Carried out some Pad Thai here late night. Both chicken and shrimp were over cooked and I didn’t feel safe eating them. Willing to give this place another chance though because it receives such good reviews for dine-in.
Sesame ginger beef
Average at best
Good service but the quality of the food was below average. There wasn’t much flavor. Feeling like I missed something or slo doesn’t have good Thai food.
Best Thai food in SLO! Service is outstanding and has an incredible lunch menu with affordable prices. Never have had a bad meal here.
Good soups and the Garlic Chicken is amazing!
Just got Thai here for the first time and my Sambal chicken is amazing! I don't like spicy and ordered spicy.. of course.. I know! They do not have cream cheese wontons but do have mango sticky rice!! Yum! No delivery remember. Husband did not like his Coconut Bbq Chicken or fried rice.
Good food, good service.
great thai tea, soups and rolls
I love the food. The atmosphere is nice and cozy. Friendly staff. I go when I can.
Great place to eat thai food, servers are super responsive and food is always excellent, highly recommend.
Its an awesome place to have dinner with family..
Yummy food😍😍 loved it
Big fan of the thairrific in San Luis Obispo. Everything is delicious. I always get the Kao Soi.
The food was good and the service was good. The food was a little slow making it to the table.
Best lunch specials
Best thai food I've ever had.
One of the best Thai
My favorite Thai food
Quick service. Food is great and the prices are reasonable.
Great consistent Thai food. Good lunch specials as well. I live the prik king with ground chicken.
Amazing
Best Thai food!
