Oh geez..firrs off..just beware of the food you get when you ordered take out. I hate to be giving bad review. But they made me to. I ordered 4 items for take outs; fish cake, green bean tofu, crispy basil tofu and rice for pickup. When I got home; first thing I opened was rice. Sorry, but being Asian myself and eat and cook rice my whole life; I know when rice isn’t fresh. It was rotten rice. I opened the box of rice and first thing I smelled was the smell of old rice that’s been in rice cooker for a week! Yikes! Not just that, the rice was watery. That explained why I can tell right away the rice was bad. I called and told them that they gave me old rice. They offered replacement (thanks), so I had to drive over to get a replacement. When I got there, the nice guy who took the order told the lady in the kitchen about the rice, and I could hear her laughing!! Seriously?!? She’s laughing!? Seems like they deliberately gave me rotten soggy, rotten, smelly rice! Wow! I was speechless! So much for trying to be kind and gave $5 tips for take out food I picked up myself. Never again!! Wow..just wow! Now, not sure if I want to eat them at all and report them to the health department. Lost appetite for having to go through the whole ordeal. Just sad; this would be my last giving them business. I work at the hospital, and being given rotten rice for my take out lunch was just horrible. Sadly I had to file a report about this incident to CDPH to help prevent the same thing happening to future paying customers. I’ve been living in the neighborhood for 19 years; this restaurant used to be good. Not anymore with the new owner.

We enjoy the excellent curries here but the rest including the spicy basil chicken is oversalted while pad thai was oversweetened. Hot tea is lukewarm at best.

Stopped by for a quick bite to eat. The lunch special was out of this world and very flavorful. Got the garlic pork and yellow beef curry. Garlic pork had so much flavor and the beef curry was well balanced with spice.

Live half block away from Vanida Thai. I used to frequently order from them and pick up the food as I walk my dog. However, not sure if there is an ownership change or they hired new employees, the food have not been as good and the service is not as friendly as before. Like i said earlier, i generally would pick up the food as i walk my dog. When i pick up the food, I generally would stand by the entrance and let the know I am pick up the food. The waitress would just ask if I am picking up and then dump the food by the table or counter and walk away without saying thank you or hand over the food to me directly. I generally would not care as much, but the way how the employee acted, it feel like i am a hassle for them.

Since the first time happened, i stopped going there for a while and instead i would drive to Sri Thai or King of Thai for my Thai food cravings. However, i decided to give them a try again tonight, and same thing happened.

I think this will be my last time visit them and it unfortunate cause I used to actually like their food.

Food was alright. The beef noodle soup was alright. Not amazing. The calamari was chewy and not fried too crispy

I ordered spicy and the food had very little flavor. Also was over cooked. Would not recommend. I had the pad sew ew with chicken. The veggie spring rolls were fine.

I went to this restaurant with my family on my birthday and it was the best food I've ever had by far. I'd give it a 12 stars if I could or even more. You should definitely go if you see this. It'll change your life.

When I lived in the area, I would come to get the lunch special all the time. The prices are so reasonable and everything is delicious. Their garlic pork with the green sauce was my absolute favorite thing and I still dream of it!! The staff is always super friendly and they're quick. Highly recommend.

So tasty! Had a fantastic Thai tea (in a beer mug 🍺), savory fish cakes, and delicious Pad Thai! Staff was attentive and patient.

Very bad. Ordered take out over and nearly 2 hours later still waiting. This company did not answer the phone and left no other way to contact them. Went to bed starving as no food showed up. Disgrace of a place.

Amazing customer service and delectable food choices! I haven't had many experiences eating thai food, but out of all of the places I've gone to, this place was by far, the best! The atmosphere in the restaurant is very fun, and the sauces were flavorful and the meat was tender and overall appetizing to any taste buds! Not to mention the sweetness of the iced tea! I will certainly be coming back to this diamond in the rough!

We had the Angel Wings, Poh-pia Vinada and Fried Calamari for Starters. Tango Mango Salad, Spicy Green Bean, Garlic Prawns, Chili Garlic Fish and Thai Fried Rice. The best I've had in a long while. Will definitely be back to this place here in The City!!🤙🍺💕🇺🇸😎

I ordered from their lunch combo menu and got pad Thai along with spicy basil with chicken and requested no rice with coconut soup. The coconut soup had a delicious sweet and savory taste to it! Their pad Thai wasn't spicy (wished I asked to put some spice in it), but it was sweet, savory and sour! The spicy basil with chicken was bursting with flavor (as you can see from the dark colors)! Overall very delicious!

Delicious dishes! We got the cashew veggie dish plus prawns (came with rice) and the pad-thai, substituting prawn for chicken- super good. A little light on the rice, consider getting an extra rice when you order!

Second visit: got drunken noodle with beef. The beef was extremely hard to chew, like leather. They happily remade it with chicken which was great. So avoid getting anything with beef till they start getting better quality beef.

I used to work near here and enjoyed the tasty, affordable lunch special combinations. This was my first time back in over 5 years and I definitely noticed some differences. The soup that comes with the combo no longer has chunks of chicken. And the grilled pork that I have ordered many times before was chewy and fatty. The dining room never got full during the noon lunch hour, while neighboring restaurants left and right were much busier. I hope it was only an off day, because this was once one of my favorite Thai restaurants.

Food was good but they were not meant for crowds. Today there was one waitress and a large table of 8 or so people took up all her attention. After bringing our order, she never checked back with us. My ice tea came in the middle of the meal. Other people had to wait 10 minutes just to place an order.

Good Thai lunch. Food can be uneven, better on some days. Great Tom Kha soup sometimes.

I ordered the appetizer Mee Krob which is described on the menu as crispy sweet needles with grilled shrimp and bean sprouts. When I got it home 5 minutes later and opened container it was a sticky mess of brown "something"s that couldn't be easily separated AND there were only 2 shriveled "grilled shrimp". When I called to complain I was told by the man that answered "that's the way it's supposed to be. The noodles are the main part of the dish." When I pointed out that all the other appetizers with the shrimp, which are the same price, which he confirmed, "yes there are many more in the other appetizers" he made no effort to try and make things right. He just said, "that's it". I would have expected that a restaurant that wants to maintain customers and build a good reputation would have at least offered a free side of sticky rice the next time I came in. I'm not going back. There's too many other good Thai restaurants in this area. Vanida, learn how to treat your customers. You blew it! OH, and I think you should add to the description of this dish, 2 over cooked shrimp ONLY.
