Established in 1996 by renowned executive chef, Lalita Souksamlane. Over nearly three decades, Osha Thai has grown to become San Francisco’s favorite Thai restaurant highlighting award-winning cuisine with swanky presentation served in a luxurious environment.
Open daily for Brunch + Lunch + Dinner + Happy Hour
Happy Hour is Served:
Everyday 5 pm - 7pm
What a find! This restaurant is conveniently located next to the Hyatt hotel and the Ferry building. It’s often very busy and booked so making a reservation might be necessary.
The atmosphere is lively and vibrant because of the amount of people, and the service is great. Very friendly.
The menu is expansive and has all the favorites for a Thai restaurant. Going here with friends or coworkers is a must!
The large dining space feels festive, and around Christmas there were plenty of holiday decorations. All the tables were packed when we came in for a Tuesday afternoon lunch.
A few of the things I wasn't as keen on -- lettuce wrap chicken was flavored heavily with lemongrass and fish sauce, so it could use a little bit more sweet or citrus notes. The dishes were also on the pricier side. Most dishes with a heavy sauce component felt just a tad on the sweet side, even for fusion Thai food.
Still, the food is really tasty and there's a ton of unique dishes to choose from besides the classic pineapple fried rice and pad thai. I'd recommend trying the lamb chops, smoked duck, and paella, which can probably serve 3-4! Everything is also presented pretty much exactly it they appear on the menu.
Love the ambience it’s so pretty and the staff is very nice. We got in early for dinner so it was kinda empty but woaah in half hour the place was lovely and waiters running around. Food was great we had
Drunken noodles - 5/5
Ginger Chicken 3.5/5

I’ve been to Osha Thai in San Francisco multiple times with friends, family, and colleagues, and it’s consistently a great experience! The food is always delicious, with vibrant flavors that keep us coming back. The ambiance is warm and inviting, perfect for any occasion, and the service is consistently attentive and friendly. Whether it’s a casual meal with friends or a special family gathering, Osha Thai never disappoints. Highly recommend for anyone looking for quality Thai food in the city!
I am not an expert in Thai food, but I love food that comes in a variety of flavors, and Thai meals have the right balance of flavors. The main flavors in a well-balanced Thai meal are spicy, sour, sweet, and salty. At Osha, they do a very good job of equalizing these vibrant palate parameters. In addition to ingredient flavor, their food emphasizes a balance of texture and seasoning.
Osha Thai's menu is seasonal and is updated monthly. I have only been there for lunch, but I am told by those who have been there for both lunch and dinner that whether it is lunch, dinner, or happy hour, you will have a very pleasant experience when you go there.
Osha Thai offers vegan dishes to its vegan-food-loving clients, which has made it an easy choice when I'm having lunch with my vegan friends. Although I am not vegan, I have tried their vegan dishes a few times and really enjoyed them. They use local, seasonal greens and, as mentioned above, change their menu offerings with new and creative dishes.
If you like spicy dishes, try their Lemongrass Chicken. It is sweet and sour stir-fried chicken with coconut milk, green onions, bell pepper, chili, and, of course, lemongrass. Again, it is best when it is spicy.
On my most recent visit, I tried their Osha's Tom Yum Noodle Soup, which comes with rice stick noodles, shrimp, fish meatballs, minced chicken, peanuts, beansprout, and a boiled egg in hot and sour Tom Yum broth. It was delicious and filling.
I have also had their Chu-Chi Salmon. It is a grilled salmon fillet served with "chu-chi" curry. Chu-Chi sauce is a style of Thai red curry that is usually paired with seafood in Thailand.
By the way, rice is an essential part of Thai meals, so many items on the menu come with white rice.
Met for a quick dinner before an event at MoAD- easy to get to (great location!), excellent food, ambiance and pleasant service. I am delighted to find this location and will certainly be back.

Extremely mediocre. 2 stars for food, 4 for service, 4 for atmosphere and convenient location - I guess that nets out as 3 but u would really give it 2. Barely any flavor. I’m very concerned about the 4+ star reviews here because idk how it’s possible
Went with a group of eleven. The food is extremely overpriced but tasty and we paid an automatic 18 percent gratuity given it was a large group. But the waitress preselected an extra tip and asked me to sign. Super tacky and unprofessional behavior.
Wont go again

Staff is very friendly but the food was mediocre at best. The soup was luke warm , rest of the food lacked flavor.
Guys, this is the best Tom Yam I've tried in California, I ordered delivery, but I was not disappointed! The large amount of seafood and the soup itself are very tempting! I also want to brag about the pickled cucumbers! Cool!!
Great new year celebration.
Friendly service, great food. I loved the. Brunch Pad Thai and Papaya Salad.
My favorite Thai restaurant in the area! Classic and elevated Thai fare. Interesting and fun drinks.
Lovely decor for the holidays, delicious mango mojito and food was tasty. I will be back!

My husband and I stopped by this place to meet with friends who were having dinner there. Since we already had our meal at the Franciscan. We just ordered a glass of Thai ice tea and a cup of hot jasmine tea bag without looking at the menu. We were surprised to be charged $8 for each drink + tax . Good thing we didn't eat there.
Hot water, jasmine tea bag, $8 - need I say more?
It's nice inside. The food is average. Not bad service. It's slightly over priced for what you get.

Thought the food was alright, not my favorite thai food but good! Great vegetarian options as many dishes can be made with tofu or veg. Got the pumpkin curry, 4/5 stars.

The food was okay overall. I ordered the wings, but unfortunately, I had to send them back because one of them was still raw and pink inside, with a strange taste that made me realize it was undercooked. The service, however, was great—staff were responsive and quickly offered to recook the wings. Appreciate the prompt fix, but definitely hoping for a more consistent experience next time.
I like their smoked duck but it seems they do not have enough service person.
Quiet a good choice of Thai food. Nice area of San Francisco, good service ready to accomodate ti customer needs.
This place was awesome!! Authentic experience with the most beautiful presentations and decor
Very ordinary Thai-American place. Pad thai with shrimp was soggy and had very few small shrimp.
This is a great restaurant!
The presentation was outstanding!
The food was top-notch!
The drinks were excellent!
This is the restaurant that you take a first date.
This is the place to take a business client or your spouse on your anniversary.
This is also a great place for a casual lunch.
My family and we're there to celebrate a milestone birthday, and the staff handled it perfectly! We could not have been more pleased!
Appetizers here really hit the spot. The deep fried chili pork app is incredible. Their Rangoons are also delicious. What kind of didn’t hit the spot were some of the entrees. I ordered chicken fried rice and the chicken was bland to the point it wasn’t worth eating. My dish ended up basically being some meh fried rice. My coworker had pad Thai and said it also left much to be desired. The Mongolia beef is truly the star of the menu though. It’s juicy and flavorful. Definitely what you want to order when you go.
Food is very tasty but service can be better especially when there are lots of people
Slightly different take on Thai than I've had before but it was good. The dishes are large and shareable.
It reminds me of a Thai restaurant you'd eat at on a tropical island. Overall it was great and the food was good.
I’ll start out w the pros… salmon avocado rolls were amazing ! Our waiter was great as well. However, those were the only two things I can say were on point. We got there at 220pm and the hostess was extremely rude to us and told us that they were going to close at 3pm. She said if she sat us down we’d have to know what we were going to order already so we can put our order in as fast as we could. We were rushed to our table (begrudgingly) and ordered our food. We finished fast yet they kept on circling like vultures to make sure we were done and out by 3. If you’re wanting a rude hostess and made to feel you have to eat your food in a rush , go on in. If you want a pleasant experience, get there right at noon and FAR away from closing time. Guess going in 40 minutes before close wasn’t good enough for this restaurant. Horrible experience.
i usually love thai food and noodles, but this place served tasteless overpriced food that took a long time to arrive
Great entrees, ok sized portions, nice attentive staff, excellent quality food all around, alittle pricey for what you get, ill come back when im in the area
Food was pretty bland and too sweet (I had the Tom Yum and Papaya Salad) and service was lacking. I asked for “spicy” but both my dishes were completely flat. Thai tea was really good though.
After serving, the waiter never showed up to refill water or ask if we needed anything. I had to get up and go to the hostess station to ask for the check after 15 minutes of waiting past finishing our food. I would have loved to order dessert but no one showed to ask…
Happy hour is decent. Angel wings taste like there was some fish sauce on them but not in the description on the menu. Pain killer is not a real pain killer drink. Pineapple Thai fried rice that's good for one person not to share was alright but not for $26 for rubbery old tasting chicken and literally 2 pieces of shrimp something that should be described on the menu SMH. Thai tea was good and gyoza was meh, the sauce interesting... Relaxed Ambience, very nice.
Good place with a perfect combination of taste, appearances and decor
Wonderful spot in the Embarcadero section of SF. Try just about anything and you will be happy! Yum yummy!
I had been here many times for lunch. Today we saw their sign board, advertising bruch until 3 pm. We walked in about 2.20 and the hostess said we close at 3 is that ok? I said it should be if we can get waited on quickly. We asked for dessert menus and were left waiting another 10 minutes before we got the dessert menu and the rude waitress immediately rush over to ask what we wanted. She was defensive about answering menu questions, proably since she wanted to knock off work as early as possible. My party hadn't even had 1 minute to look at the dessert choices. So I told the waitress 'he is looking at dessert' and then I ordered my food. She shook her hand and said I only have 30 minutes left now. She seemed to think I couldn't order, receive, and eat the food in 30 minutes and not a moment more. So what???? This is a restaurant, not a grocery store. If they advertise brunch until 3 they should be taking orders up to nearly 3 and not making the customer feel unwelcome and unappreciated. We canceled the order and walked out the door, irritated with their total lack of professionalism. Shame on you, Osha Thai! Your service has gone far downhill, and you clearly hire unprofessional people with poor work ethics. Perhaps this restaurant has just passed it's prime.
Overpriced thai joint
Osha Thai offers super classy decor, setting high expectations from the moment you walk in. Unfortunately, the service and food did not live up to the ambiance.
Our server was rushing us to order before we even sat down and then disappeared, forcing us to search for them to place our order. The Pad See Ew was disappointingly flavorless, and the spring rolls had an overwhelmingly earthy taste that wasn't enjoyable.
Despite the beautiful decor, the poor service and lackluster food make it hard to recommend.
This place was really nice. The atmospheric was beautiful as there were flowers and high end decorations everywhere. The food was overall delicious but some dishes were too spicy. The service was good and our food came pretty fast considering that the place was very busy.
Le curry jaune est tout simplement fabuleux! Je ne saurais dire à quel point c’était bon! Outre cela, très bon service, bel emplacement et prix très raisonnable
Beautiful Thai restaurant close to the Ferry Building. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The menu was extensive with lots of options and they have a nice selection of house cocktails. My husband had the Tiger Tear steak and I had the pork belly. Both were very tasty and had lots of flavor.
Each dish, meticulously crafted, bursts with vibrant spices and fresh ingredients. The ambiance, a harmonious mix of elegance and comfort, sets the stage for an unforgettable culinary journey through Thailand.
The menu directed me to choosing the vegetarian Yellow Curry served with rice and natural coconut water.
Note: Some of the vegetarian dishes do contain Oyster Sauces and the server will certainly make you aware of it.
The food was absolutely delicious. I loved their pumpkin curry. We sat outside and the atmosphere was perfect. I got the colada drink and it was exactly what I wanted. We ordered spring rolls that came with noodles and the server was so kind about switching it for us. Would definitely go again.
The absolute best Thai Restaurant in the Bay Area in my personal opinion! I loved their indoor decor, with a lot of beautiful pink flowers, and a very vibrant set of decorations! Their tables were comfy and cozy, and after a long morning of exploring San Francisco. Their staff was also really nice, and seated us at a very fast pace! They kept refilling our waters, and asking if we wanted anything else! For their food options I feel like they had a great variety ranging from popular items such as Pad Thai to Green Curry, all tasted super delicious. I especially enjoyed their beef fried rice, and their Beef Thai Curry! A great place, with a reasonable price! However, if you are looking for their hot sauce, it is a bit on the mild side. As their hot sauce tasted a lot sweeter compared to spicy, but I feel like it depends completely on the person. Hope this helped!
This place is very near to the end of Market Street and close to the Embarcadero BART station. We were there on a weekend.
Also, it is a very short walk from the Ferry Building.
The food was great. Since I am vegetarian I tried a vegetarian version of pumpkin yellow curry. Whereas my wife tried pad Thai with shrimp 🦐. Both of the dishes were great. The service was fast. They were able to bring items quickly.
They have maintained a very high level of cleanliness.
In case you are going on any busy day, I would recommend to get a reservation.
They also have an outdoor seating area. I would recommend trying those especially when the weather is good.
For SF standards, food is good.
Great good, ambience and service!
Good good and ambience, but a little pricey for Thai food.
Came here for a private company event. There were a lot of us and we were pretty loud unwinding after a hard day. The staff was AMAZING throughout it all- very friendly, attentive, and helpful. Also, the pineapple fried rice was to die for you!
I have been going here on business trips for many years and it always has great service combined with good food. To me it’s a little high priced but it seems true of all restaurants so I am not sure it’s out of line. It’s usually easy to get into this location and it has some outdoor seating if it’s warm enough for outside dining
Food was subpar - the spicy basil dish did not taste of basil and was not hot in temperature (said it was from wok). The manager was very rude to us after we paid our bill, stating that we were in the section that was closing at 3 pm (it was only 2:50), and she basically told us to leave. We were in shock. Try the Cambodian restaurant at the Ferry Building as it was very good, instead of this tourist trap.
The country chicken dish was just brilliant !
The food and service were excellent! The staff went above and beyond to accommodate me and my obnoxious food allergies.
Came here for lunch on a Saturday at 12PM since that's when they open and I was surprised to see that there were a lot of other people also there that had reservations. I don't think the reservations were necessary because there was plenty of seating, but it could be worth making a reservation if you're looking to sit outside. As a party of 3, we were able to get patio seating without much of a wait, we just had to wait for them to finish setting up the patio.
The food was actually really good. I didn't have high hopes for the place, but all of the food was pretty good. We ordered the papaya salad, pumpkin curry, Osha's Tom Yum Noodles Soup, and the Khao Soi beef short ribs. To my surprise the pumpkin curry had some spice to it.
I’d return to try other items off their menu!
Good place for a team lunch.
We decided to come here to honor my husband's birthday. The restaurant exuded a delightful ambiance, and very clean.
Our server, appropriately named Best, truly lived up to her name. She was exceptional, offering fantastic suggestions, maintaining a polite demeanor, and always serving us with a warm smile.
Frank, another server, also stood out with his exceptional service.
The location is convenient, with parking available underneath the building. I highly recommend this restaurant.
Had an amazing time here. Came for lunch and wish I could have stayed all day. Highly recommend the Tom kha noodle (add the chili paste) as well as the green curry dish. We ordered them hot, but if you like spicy food I recommend getting it Thai spicy and getting the full flavor of the dish. I can’t say enough about how bright and tasteful the food was and my tongue is still reminiscing this place as I write about it. A must try. Mic drop.
Excellent cocktails! Coconut curry dumplings, chicken satay with toast and peanut sauce and Tom Yum soup are all outstanding!
Food was delicious. We sat next to a big window overlooking Justin Herman Plaza and it had a nice ambiance.
Really good quality Thai food, but expect the prices to be more expensive than usual. This location is very aesthetic and beautiful inside. Great ambiance and friendly customer service. Has a more high-end feel to it - being located next to The Ferry Building.
My favorite dish here is the Pork Belly Noodles! This is a specialty item on their brunch menu. Imagine Pad Thai, but elevated with bok choy, crispy pork, and a runny egg. Soooo delicious! Flavored perfectly. Highly recommended.
The Pad See Eaw is also pretty good here. Not too salty or oily. Just right. I like that they give a lot of noodles and don't skimp on the ingredients. I do wish it was slightly sweeter though.
Their cocktail menu is pretty impressive. They are generous with the alochol ratio. Pretty strong! But the drinks are still very enjoyable and pretty. Very fun for a meal out with friends.
Tried ordering takeout around 8 while more than half the restaurant was full and food was still coming out of the kitchen but they told me the kitchen was closed.
Very spacious dining room on 1st floor of 4 Embarcadero. $2 validated parking under Embarcadero, but sometimes it’s full. Food was generally tasty with good spices. Quality of the dishes was mixed. The Pad Thai was definitely delicious and a good quantity. Curries were good. Volcano beef was a disappointment.
Wonderful Thai food. The Pina colada is so delicious !
Great atmosphere. Great food. Loved their coconut curry dumplings, Thai fried rice and fried banana ice cream.
They are definitely going for the IG post with lots of fake flowers hanging on the walls and drinks served in fancy cups with lots of extras. They do a robust business lunch hustle - lots of groups dressed in suits, and it makes sense since they are located right by the Embarcadero.
I went here with co-workers (so yes I was one of them!), and we had a nice lunch. Food is priced for the location and ambiance (aka expensive), and it was decent but not the best Thai I've ever had....
That being said, service was good. And minus one soup taking 20+ minutes to arrive the food was decently timed.
Enjoyed the salmon, the pad see ew, and tom yum. Don't bother with the coconut thai iced tea - from what I can tell it's a dollar more for less tea and no discernable coconut flavor....
Thai fried rice and panang beef curry was good
The food is terrific 💯
Great happy hour with fair pricing (8-10 for drinks, 7-12 for small bites). Pork dish was super flavourful. Oysters however were very suspicious and I couldn’t eat more than 2. Maybe my mistake for trusting cheap oysters but definitely avoid them. Unfortunately ruined my experience.
Also limited veg options on the happy hour menu.
Came here for a birthday and had a fantastic time. Bo is a great waitress and recommended some delicious dishes.
Terrible thai food, ordered two plates and the second one even smelled weird and we decided not to have it, get the check and got out.
Food is good but service was terrible.
We made a reservation for 8.15 and were told immediately to place order within 10mins as the kitchen will close. Once we placed the order, they dumped all the food together (appetizers, entrees, desserts). They don’t even bother to pack the leftovers.
Also, the receipt already had tip included with additional requests for more tip which seemed like a sneaky way to get tipped twice.
Some of the best Thai food I’ve had in a very long time. The service was very friendly and accommodating, there are great drinks, and restaurant decor is beautiful. Highly recommend
God mat men katastrofal service och grinig personal när man kritiserar detta. Inte tillmötesgående för fem öre.
Love the ambience, food and service. It gets a little busy but worth the wait.
Everything was delicious. I hadn't been to this Osha before, but the quality was high, and there were some fun novelty drinks.
Been ordering food from here for the past 3 years and it’s gone downhill… the chicken is inedible & tastes like frozen chicken that’s been kept in the freezer for 3 years
Refreshing clean flavorful Thai dishes and swift service. Great food
This is just a PSA that there is literally almost nothing vegetarian here. The only options are fried rice and spring rolls. Everything has fish sauce in it and they can't change it.
Great Thai in a great location.
Been coming here for many years, first time back since 2019. Updated decor, food is still great. A bit pricey, but considering the location and the atmosphere it is to be expected.
Came for dinner on a week night about 6pm.
Calamari, Thai iced tea, yellow curry, pumpkin curry with salmon were all great.
Great place to take colleagues or clients for business meals or a place to take a date.
맛있는 타이 음식입니다 분위기도 좋구요
Great place! Best Thai Iced tea!
pumpkin curry
Nothing but good things to say! Food was absolutely amazing. Great portions and filling. Staff was very kind. Must try if visiting SF!
Loved everything I ate. The gin drink was awesome. We were a large party, and they had they fiod flowing flawlessly. Will definitely be back!
A very good experience. The good and service was good and they managed our giant party well.
When we arrive there were only a few parties. We asked if we could be seated in a certain section that was quieter but they said no after taking our seeds we saw other people being seated in that section and asked if we could sit there the host is very perturbed. It seems as if they only had two servers in the whole restaurant. We waited forever for drink and food. We never got serving utensils with the food. Also the prices were extremely high. I don't think I will be going back in the future
Only 2 stars because how pretty the restaurant is from the terrace. The food was flavorless and meat was way too dry, as if they gave us food that was made a really long time ago and just warmed it up. Also waitresses kept on pouring beer into a straight water glass, which made the beer foam go all over the table every time and didn’t mind cleaning the mess up they made themselves, this also ruins the beers.
Wouldn’t recommend. 3/10 just for the pretty flowers outside.
Beautiful place and yummy and delicious food.
This is my favorite Thai restaurant in the Embarcadero area. I haven't run into a bad dish yet!
Confronted by the witness about the tip we left and made to feel really awkward and uncomfortable
The food is good but wouldn't say at the higher end of quality Thai. It's a cool buzzy restaurant though, with friendly service.
Been to or ordered from Osha Thai a few times over the years. Their food is generally pretty tasty, never had a bad meal here. The service can be hit or miss, can depend a bit on the day and how busy it is. What largely brings the rating down a bit is that the price/ quantity of the restaurant can be a bit aggressive with one dish typically running $30-40, that is a whole meal at other Thai restaurants
Tasty food, great atmosphere in general. Pumpkin curry was good. Pad Thai had too much vinegar.
I only had the Panag Beef so I can't speak to much more but it was really good. I wasn't thrilled with the clear drug use by the homeless right out front, not that this is in their control or too uncommon for this area. The team were friendly.
